A lasrifle is a standard issue lasgun
Very occasionally a distinction is made that a lasrifle is specifically one of higher quality
i think there's lasguns in militia supplement
i just know lasrifles stat wise have more AP
Yeah solar auxilia use better weaponry that stopped being produced after the heresy
But it's just a nice lasgun
I'm not throwing shade at the author it's a very pedantic thing
i just noticed it is all
"Lasgun" is a catch all term for a laser weapon (that apparently also has a projectile), a "lasrifle" is one shaped like a rifle
When you say "lasgun" without being more specific, you're probably talking about a lasrifle
quite so
i dont agree with that definition
we see distinctions made between lasguns and lascarbines
to me a lasgun is the rifle and a lasrifle is just an obsolete style of lasgun
Boltgun = Boltrifle no ?
bolter = boltrifle
What about Boltgun ?
Lasrifles exist lore wise still
to me a lasgun is the classic rifle looking thing
it's its own thing yeah
Prolly to give to people they like lol
Or maybe someone is still ordering the damn things
coincidentally the solar auxilia lasrifles look exactly like lucius pattern lasguns
Tbh Las rifles make no sense, like what would rifling even do for a Las weapon
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Lasgun you can just read up here and see which lasguns are called lasrifles by their literal definition
The Lasgun is an energy based weapon, and is the most common and widely used type of laser weapon in the Imperium. It is standard issue for all Imperial Guard infantry and most lower-ranked officers.
i dont think the term is literal
like even today a rifle doesnt mean "a rifled weapon"
It most likely has extra focusing lenses shoved into it
like one is called a lasrifle and another a lasgun
gotta love it
autoguns always being called caseless because it sounds cool
still ejects brass casings
M40 autogun is still my favorite stupid 40k gun
is it the one thats basically an m16?
idk
only 12 shots
they added a handle on it and called it a day
i like to imagine it shoots ridiculously large bullets
bruhhh that is dirty
thank god it's solid slugs
yeah if you wanna go for the suspension of disbelief it shoots some real high caliber stuff
that's one way to do caseless ammunition
lol
But I'd assume there's something left of the Saturine
and they're most likely still ordering solar auxillia equipment lol
solar auxillia in 40k plz
what if there isn't and all that equipment just gets dumped on the ground of... titan?
i dont remember which planet solar auxilia was on
it would be typical of the administratum to forget to remove a 10000 renewing yearly shipment
that's what i based my custom regiment on
nah titan is right
it's somewhere around jupiter i think
Right for Solar or GK?
Saturn
Titan is their homeworld, Deimos is their forgeworld. They took Deimos out of orbit around Mars and put in orbit of Titan
on saturn?
OR at least whats left of the "real" solar auxillia
the ring
specifically
They have big space stations
why
because they cool
they'd be generic in 40k
i dont see solar auxilia using shadowswords
Just “you but literally with all of your stuff better”
i don't want them as a playable army idc about tt
solar auxilia stuff sucks by 40k standards
i just want to have them exist and be active
Then use their units in 40k
The las rifle sections fit great
lasrifles downgraded to lasguns
They have Dracosians.
That’s their equivalent
The Auxillia is around in 40k in some capacity
they even have better sentinels with more armor
literally just a chopped off malcador
they only have 2 types of baneblades
that a big fat L
SA also suffer from HH syndrome
where uh
everyone and their mother has AP4
because GW nerfed almost all AP3 to AP4
lasrifles i tell you
Lasrifles on the overcharge mode aren't even AP3 now lol
the quantity of AP4 ironically
makes it painful to play anything that isn't marines
also believe it or not but malcadors sucked
i mean that's the whole point of hh sadly
well its really funny
to have a bunch of marines jerking themselves off
since GW has made Auxillia in plastic lol
for the tabletop
playing SA is an exercise in self inflicted flagellation
I mean
since you're paying a premium for 4+ saves
they look so cool tho
Maybe in mini form
cooler than any marine army
damn
they brought the variants into 30k
trust me those were NOT there before
there was even explicit lore than only the hellhammer was available as a variant
man poor macharius tank
it's never going to get any use since it was made after 30k
and GW added the rogal dorn even though they had a heavy tank RIGHT THERE
Didn't 30k have like almost all baneblade variants in it for the longest of time already? There were a couple that were exclusive to 30k as well iirc
Only for imperial army/cults and miltia
Solar auxillia have a pretty limited roster
no militia only had baneblade and hellhammer
you can read the supplement, it says that even seeing these was extremely rare
since baneblade was still new at that point
Always thought it was dope that solar auxilia regiments are referred to as a tercio sometimes
amazing how this dominated warfare until Netherlanders, French, and British mfs were like how bout we just givem all the guns and lose the metal shorts buddy
going through the Custodeeznuts codex
finally some official Eye of the Emperor custodian art

hope he packed a stealth boy
also i doubt your average imperial even knows what a custodian or even their sigil is to be frank
Cute
is that a custodian pretending to be a civilian
won't anybody notice the 8 foot tall guy who's the embodiment of physical perfection
Well, there are some big humans, like Necromundan Goliath and the sort
Alpha marines are the short kings
aren't alpha legion lads pretty tall?
and then Alpharius and Omegon are unusually short for primarchs
yes
I’m always surprised we haven’t gotten one of these guys as a model or a Killteam maybe.
Have one lead a Killteam of whoever
There’s so much you can do with it.
Probably just him chilling considering he has his giant fucking spear
From what we see they mostly act as spymasters and use cloaking tech or third parties to actually contact people
Only directly intervening when it’s absolutely necessary
Probably later
They probably know of the Custodes but they’re not gonna recognize one out of armor
It’s not even a guardian spear by the looks of it anyways
its how I imagined them, except with a brown robe.
I’ve been planning to put together a Maledictum game where the benefactor of the group is unknown largely until they get into a super shit spot.
Then he shows up and is revealed to be an Eye after he pulverizes whatever was gonna kill them.
Lewis Jones don’t miss
I think he might be my favorite GW artist ever tbh.
And I’m not saying that with any disrespect to some of the phenomenal artists they’ve had but he’s just insane
I don’t think I’ve ever disliked something he’s done
Hes up there with Paul Dantion and Kopinsky
only a few 40k artists actually capture the ugly as fuck industrial grimdank aesthetic of 40k
also his spike fetish is pretty good lol
Miguel is very good too yeah
Also liking where my own is headed
GW does not lack for good artists right now that’s for sure
Lewis Jones use of lighting is just absurd
that piece is just DOOM™️ tier
Lewis Jones my beloved
cant imagine how long it took
40K art isn’t grimdark anymore mf’ers
When I force them to look at 9e codex art
I love the catachan shanking the ork to death from behind in the bottom left
The stealer cults one is probably one of the best 40k artworks period imo
Glorious axe head
You can't forget chainsaw man on the right
Honestly every cover he’s done is the best ever he just doesn’t miss
It’s cool but grimy and detailed and pretty and colorful but dour all at the same time
i just wish he wasnt such a fucking numbskull and actually uploaded these to his artstation
I hate going to his instagram and getting like the shittiest quality one possible
💀
Lewis Jones my beloved
I literally gotta scour codexes or like
use AI to enhance the image
it hurts a lot
he's made my favourite DG art as well
Which one /j
jokes aside the old 7e Iron Hands codex has some sick art in it
when people ask that one guy "How's your day going?" this is that one guy
I think what makes his art work is the same stuff people like Kopinski did
He doesn’t miss
aka just going wild
improving designs etc
nobody looks the same
every character has their own style and looks awesome
It’s very unique and high effort
have you seen the full art of the battle force @dusk patrol for iron hands
yeah you can tell from the uh
yeah that one
fucking brushy portions
The Raven guard one he did for the same series was awesome too
It does always look funny how they look like they’re posing for a album cover though
Propaganda shot

Context: "The war started from a debate about the pronunciation of GIF".
I love the difference
I love Morvenn Vahls design
In one shes like a vogue model
in Lewis' shes got missing teeth and scars and shit
lmfao
i do kinda like the zombie look.
When you’re in a relationship vs after you break up

Jones does a great job of making people look like freaks
Morvenn Vahl after becoming a high lord: "Peace out bitches I'm going crusading"
I meant more like her backstory was just very half-assed
if i see one more "ecclesiarchy is corrupt and sisters kill this priest" trope im gonna scream

they picked from the one order who's SOBs barely say anything. because "actions speak louder than words" or some junk
Yeah that is said in the short story too
Me, waiting for a 40k book or game where the Inquisitors plan is actually pretty reasonable and the Ecclissarchy is just doing its best and isn’t too bad or anything.
(Yes I know there’s examples)
Yeah its more that you gotta dig to like
a fucking mid 2000's book
and whos gonna do that tbh

(Guilliman combing through the records for the best possible candidate for High Abbess)
“Yeah let’s go with the 21 year old”
And then it works
I love her look and model though the sister mech suits are such a fun design
Other end of the spectrum for uh…art
But, I do like how it poses that’s fun
The gun shield is such a fun design
one of the modelers decided they were missing saggy metal boobs so now they just... Have them
Everyone knows the most important part of armor is making sure everyone can tell it's a woman
I forgot how much I adore GW taking notes from the mechs in Appleseed
Landmates have a similar arm thing going
Yeah I’d says it’s heavily inspired by those
As much as it’s kind silly design wise I love the look
It works for 40k
It’s also very unique but it still feels like Imperium tech in how it follows some knight design themes
Without it becoming a mini imperial knight yuh
If I get a sisters army I might kit ash her with a mortifier, try to for with a crypt look
Its like the mechs from the matrix but only the top half? The legs should at least be bulked up lol
I like the weird rocket pods (i assume)
I think it was the High Lords who appointed Morvenn rather than Guilliman and they picked someone young because they thought she'd be easy to control
But then she went "Fuck you guys, I'm going Crusading"
mfw the high lord is out crusading
21 year old when you give them incredible power and no legal constraint
Literally Octavian in the show Rome, give a young person supreme power thinking they'll just do as they're told and then being surprised when said person infact has their own plans.
Whoops did I just accidentally a war?
shame it was cancelled
such a good show
God I forgot how good that scene was
Cicero "My dear boy, this is not what we agreed"
Octavian "It is not, nevertheless here we are"
Cicero "Brutus and Cassius still have many friends, you will split the chamber, the unity..."
Octavian "Step away from my chair"

Rome walked so Game of Thrones could run
and then trip over it's own shoelace
Right up until it ran itself into the ground.
I am still dissapointed about this
Have had 0 urge to rewatch knowing the end
I mean how to go from a national phenomenon to what it ended up being is just such a disaster
turns out the showrunners were dogshit and once they ran out of the stuff george had done ALL the work on they fucked it all up
they did such a bad job they lost planned projects
im not a huge GRRM fan tbh but the man can write consistent characters and a coherent story
I think they lost out on a star wars contract bc of it even
yeah lol
The annoying thing is they aren't dogshit, they just stopped caring.
GRRM knows how to write epic narratives and shoehorned in graphic sex scenes
Like in season 1 they made changes and added new scenes that were purely their creations and they are amazing scenes
They just stopped trying as things went on and fell in love with their own hype
my main complaints about GRRM is his settings are paper thin layers on top of medieval times and he's terrible at pacing
game of thrones has like... 6 cities and 3 geographic regions
this is a really solid observation that I agree with
its just his character writing and narrative building between characters is amazing which compensates for it
i agree, i read all the books that were published at the time i read them because i was interested enough in what was going to happen to deal with the rest of it
I do love how he makes the politics and the world so realistic that it becomes an actual issue from how complex the plot gets as you have to interweave EVERY character's dilemma into something
The sex stuff had me like
inbetween that
i find most of his characters compelling, which is actually a lot more than i can say for most authors
I appreciate the effort he puts but even he himself admitted he put himself in a knot too.
lmao
this is not an honor i can extend to, say, wheel of time lol
Can't believe cormac mccarthy wrote the road in a month and stephen king wrote kujo in a weekend
he doesn't even remember writing kujo
crack
cocaine legend
King was an unstoppable machine powered by magic dust
And his editors were afraid of him
im a big dark towerhead
Dark tower fell off for me after the first book IMO
Once I read "the stand" I realized nothing could top that book for me
technical prequel...
rare maximum overdrive reference spotted
i have heard rumblings of a dark tower miniseries adaptation by a guy whos apparently obsessed and successful enough to force it to happen
Pissed off the movie was a flop
great cast
a movie whos soundtrack is made by AC fucking DC deserves legendary status
Idris as the gunslinger and Matthew Mconnaheyheyheyyy was an interesting choice but I liked it
But the movie was just simply not the dark tower lol
i liked both castings yeah
The dark tower is such a fun read cause you're constantly making inferences
and given just enough detail to have some things confirmed
idris is a classic icey cool action guy and matthew is really good at being slick evil
it's very vague in a way
yeah the more king you've read the better too
Like the part where the gunslinger in in the Subway had me LOCKED IN when I read the book as a kid
the slow mutants or blaine?
I read most of the King books from 6th-8th grade so the details are very spotty
School also thought I was getting abused at home or a serial killer in the making
lmao
I just had access to the family library and fucking loved cool covers
I have my fucking gigantic hardback of "the stand" in my office now with the angel and demon swordfighting on the front of it
Loved that book
I think "the dead zone" is another perfect King book
I think "It" is kinda MID
my first introduction to king was my brother watching VHSes of It and Salems Lot in the living room while i was like 5 and being very scared
i havent read It but i know theres a chapter that king probably shouldnt have written lol
also Maturin's there
misery is good yes
stephen king helped me through highschool
@viral halo have you read the long walk
it's my favorite short story
i'm currently reading under the dome
a fucking monster of a book
and written in 2014 which is so weird because i understand the pop culture references in it unlike all the older books
So my tech priest character refers to enemies or otherwise unremarkable beings as simply "subject" But what should he refer to his fellow agents/party members as
I'm trying to come up with something thats slightly more "affectionate"
Unit works, but is kinda bland
specimen
Hmm, to me specimen sounds like a particularly interesting adversary
"technicians"
And with serial numbers instead of names
The omnissiah has embraced them, whether they wanted it or not
I could do like "projects" potentially, since as a magos biologis he is maybe a little too interested in fortifying their flesh
Mechanism perhaps?
"The science team"
Since we are all one unit
No I just said that one for the meme
we all serve in the omnissiah's design, whether we desire to or not
We are all cogs in the blessed machine
I suppose I could just do "specimen designation [insert name]"
And maybe slowly over time use their proper name more frequently
My man has forgotten how to interact with the laity in his studies
with his fellowship of a startling 1 (the bare minimum)
I kinda like that arc
thanks for all the suggestions fellas, sorry I keep asking for y'all to help write my OC, I just dont usually do imperium characters and I deadass cant remember how the character's ive read in books interact rn
What’s the OC for?
Wrath and glory
like he said
Man…I wish I had friends to play Wrath and Glory with
Personally my favorite line I've come up with is for when I'm healing a party member "Your service to the omnissiah is incomplete, prolonging suffering"
I found some random people at the college I graduated from
Most of my lines are healing related because my character is probably gonna be relegated to the main combat medic
"Martyrdom denied, performing critical maintenance"
I really don’t know anyone who shares my interest in RPG games. So I just watch streams. Mainly from the Channel: Tabletop Time Roleplay
Im sure you could find people here who are interested
But I heard the Only War Handbook is primarily IG focused? Isn’t there some kind of limitation to have a guardsman on W & G? It’s been a while since I looked at the info.
Nah not really, theres a wide variety of classes, and a pretty extensive customization system to make your own
The one I'm playing is custom, because theres no low level mechanicus classes for some reason
Gotcha. Hopefully one day I’ll find some like minded folk.
At a certain point you reach a ridiculous level of power scaling
like once you are an inquisitor or rogue trader you can kinda just do whatever you want
Gimme difficult, low tier content, I wanna be a inexplicable speck, I want to feel small and unimportant, fighting for flickers of hope in a dark universe trying to kill me constantly, where the struggle is trying, but within it, we find ourselves
I happen to be a large fan of the tabletop games
Good option
any tips?
Well, if you want to feel like a small cog in a larger machine, Only War is the way to go
I'm also coming up with various contextual lines like in darktide, what I imagine a mechanicus class would sound like
Dark heresy too if you want a less "Big battlefield" approach
for friendly fire "Requesting mandatory ocular upgrade" but in a very snarky tone
"Surely a weapon malfunction is to blame?"
"candidacy for servitorization increasing"
no way, how could a machine fail and not the biological operator?
They have not perfomed the proper benedictions to its machine spirit
this is not the omnissiahs truth
Leaving it lashing out like a wounded animal
Seeing the laity mistreat the holy mechanisms breaks my heart
"Operator error."
metaphorically speaking, of course, my circulatory enhancements can withstand far worse..
ooh thats good
I like the stranded approach of wrath and glory
with just how absolutely fucked the setting is
in the nihilus
Sure but the Spinward front has the Imperial Guard throwing themselves against well fortified enemies like canon fodder. Chances are the players are one unlucky artillery shell away from being a number
for an ally dying/critically injured: "Morale preservation dictates I withold likelihood of survival"
Ally taking damage: "Searching tactical doctrine... recommendation: duck"
I'm trying to come up with more of these cause I find them funny
"Cranial damage has clearly impared function"
Perhaps "Probability of cranial damage unclear"
as in, I cant really tell a difference
"Damage is non critical, treatment postponed"
"Preparing to harvest undamaged components"
Hmm, what to say when an ally performs well? "Specimen exceeding expectations"?
Yoo the Wilderfiend is pretty cool
and so long as you have multiple Hero units you can basically keep rez'ing it whenever they die
begone fantasy
rip beastmen
AoS stays winning
AoS on its way to make even the most basic-ass unit in existence into a cool miniature
it's april somewhere
It’s literally not
Time to spam the cheapest hq in the game
Warqueen and war chief!!!
It is May Day though
It is important as a worker (if not your responsibility) to remember the Haymarket Affair and other events like it.
the what now
The Haymarket Affair. One of the events that made May Day, or Labor Day in the US because our country is so scared of worker's rights they moved the holiday to September.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haymarket_affair 6 people were blamed for an improvised explosive when there was no evidence they were responsible, but they were labor leaders, found guilty of a crime they didn't commit and were hanged
The Haymarket affair, also known as the Haymarket massacre, the Haymarket riot, the Haymarket Square riot, or the Haymarket Incident, was the aftermath of a bombing that took place at a labor demonstration on May 4, 1886, at Haymarket Square in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The rally began peacefully in support of workers striking for an eig...
post civil war US history pre WW1 is super interesting for events like this
The draft riots during the civil war in NYC are also a fun read
imagine fighting at Gettysburg and being immediately sent to NYC to fight a battle against draft rioters (also the ending to gangs of new york)
Hotish take: I’m really sick of people making war games that’s just ‘not warhammer warhammer’, like one pages rules that’s fine because you just use warhammer models. But not to name names there’s a lot of wargames that pop up then die that’s lore and aesthetic is just, warhammer copy right dodging
I just, don’t get it?
Great value warhammer
The fact that i didnt hear of most these kinda sell your point even more 💀
But like, it costs like the same if not more lmao
Hell they even sell models lol
Well
Then why bother
lol
GW sculpts are generally unmatched
As much as I dislike the prices
Why the hell wouldn’t I buy GW product if something costs more and prolly sucks to put together
If you wanna sell not warhammer warhammer, just sell not warhammer warhammer. You don’t need to make a whole new wargame
I have only seen one actually make it out of go fund me or made to order hell
What’s it called
One of those battle report warhammer channels made one that was okay
Oh
Shout out to conquest btw
It’s like, the best new wargame that had models
One of the best*
Oh fucking, I remember
Let me pull it up
Outer realms
I heard it’s okay
I heard great things about it, and it’s lore Is good
The lore was literally made for me lmao
I got pulled into warhammer by Wocjik writing about Nurgle
Not for me but I appreciate a hardcore post apocalypse fantasy setting
Wocjik also has a role-playing "game" (hasn't released any rules in the 10 years he's been publishing it) with similar chic aesthetics
Personally Necromunda is unironically my favorite setting ever
I love mental illness vs mental illness hell
But it’s a pain in the ass to get people into a campaign
Necromunda and AOS
Every day I want for AOS’ rpg system to get an update this decade, every day I prey Necromunda gets 40k rpg system rules
Besides genestealers and squats, yeah
I was making a kroot and Eldar themed lists for munda and like 3 guys said that it ruins the lore and they wouldn’t allow it
But that’s warhammer
Wait until he finds out theres orks on necromunda
wait until he finds out kroot and eldar are in munda lore wise
I really want more human/xenos peaceful interactions tbh
There are specific areas for munda to trade with xenos
Especially eldar but I could see necrons having human friends
On their hive cities
Trazyn canonically just hangs out with humans but also he's Trazyn
Dman I should write a hive world
It’s like that character in media where he just has a bomb stalled to his chest and casually hangs out with his hostages
Strapped*
Lukas the Trickster does that literally
And he’s the only interesting space wolf
It's why he's so chatty, he has a stasis grenade in his chest so he's not really worried about anything lmao
Pete is apparently making a chaos version of all of the named space wolves
I actually like Grimnar, he's rule of cool personified and still gets to be silly as hell
They are for his khorne army but I’d like to see lokie just tzeentch
I hate to say but chaos Lukas was just be Lucius
My big complaint with space wolves is they lean too hard into the "Norse Gods" thing but when you look at Norse characters
Why is there no space marine based off Grettir the Ghostpuncher
I’m not a Viking fan so I can’t really get into them
I'm a Grettir stan
Dude punched 3 separate ghosts, got supernatural ptsd, and found a place where it's always warm and the homeowner was totally fine with him sleeping with all 3 of his daughters but left because it was boring when no one tried to kill him
Coolest dude to ever exist
I just think Norse culture is cool
Not like pop culture Norse culture where it’s all violence all the time
It was so much more nuanced
Hervor was also a cool "occult viking" but she doesn't get a marine because woman
And socially they were really ahead of their time
When you first start learning about vikings, you think they're cool because they're brutal. You read a little more, and find a colorful, nuanced culture. Then you read some more and realize they were even worse than you ever imagined.
Like Norway and Iceland had to put a law in place saying if your relative got murdered while playing sports you couldn't sue, because if they didn't want to die they wouldn't play sports
And the scraper game, which we don't know how it was played, but was outlawed because too many people were getting disemboweled
Or the fact that the guest house was traditionally in the barn specifically so if you decided to kill your guests you wouldn't mess up the main house
Norse people just really liked stabbing
Amazing to think that the hard counter to vikings is just having more dudes on horseback
well the problem with vikings wasn't that they were hard to beat, its that they would show up at any random coastal/river side town and ransack it out of nowhere
Medieval Lord Venting:
Anyway the Danelaw surviving was the good timeline. Have a day.
Imagine it, Danes spotted off the coast so you raise your troops and prepare for a raid on your town, then they just sail a few miles down the coast faster than you can march and raid another one of your villages instead.
How rude, they made this map for Warhammer Community for the Border Princes but didn't include flags for Estalia, Tilea or any of the other Southern Realms
GW Moment

Southern Realms are literally the coolest part of Old World
Why must GW ignore them
Also the weird back and forth on whether Cathay would be on Tabletop or not

That’s what I love about it, it’s got lots of thematic range lol
What does the imperium do with soldiers that are just a little too enthusiastic about shedding blood, concerned about khornate corruption
My podcast is talking about how bad the fall of cadia audio book is
Oh yeah its ABYSMAL
I had two friends who are audiobook addicts drop it from how bad it was
lmao
Fr
I literlaly spend like 2 minutes trying to figure out that word lol
Is there a trans character in the fall of cadia?
Most likely
GW doesn’t lack for good audio book narrators it just seems this one sucks
What’s his name Jonathan Keeble I think
And Toby Longworth I think.
Either way, trans VAs are just a large pool of workers that can be used for any role
Richard Reed is amazing narrator
I guess, there’s not really a lack of voice actors in the world tbh
Or actors in general
I think they’re referring to the narrator quality
The book itself is fine imo
Fortunately this only affects the weak and undisciplined audio book listeners
Space marine fans will give 5 stars to anything
Actually having read the book its really good
I feel like fall of cadia is a guard book
also yeah it is
the Marine parts like... well non-existant
its just Abaddon Co. and like some black templars
every other chapter is super dominantly human
And the WOLVES

Who show up and save people because they are way better
also its a lot better than Cadia Stands
which is what we had as a fall of cadia book for like years before this
Erm, does cadia stand or does cadia fall? Make up your mind writers
💀
too soon
but also compared to Stands what this book does is show EVERYONES Pov
the mini-chapters with even Trazyn are amazing too lol
it's been a story we've been over before it's already way too late for everyone not to make that joke
Cadia should have crouched instead of standing if it didn't want to fall
Lower center of gravity
More 40K books need to do that
Definitely tbh
not definitely should be
there are times where i also don't want to see the enemy POV
Like tyranids, sure I get it, but I’d even like to see the vast perceptions of the hive mind
Unrelated
I might have come up with a semi interesting wrinkle for my character as a magos biologis in training, but I’m not sure how to implement it, my character could have obtained a piece of dark eldar tech for fleshcrafting, not sure if it would be for use or study. Or how feasible that would be
Bro, ngl
I wanna see what one raven guard marine paired up with X-COM would do
Actual dream team for xcom 2
Ogryn in xcom!
I somewhat disagree
If the writer isn’t competent at making both sides intresting there’s 0 point
Brutal kunnin
The admech parts were not good lol
Honestly I wouldn't really bring up brutal cunning as an example but big dakka I will
at least Brutal Kunnin there's a reason why the admech are incompetent is because they underestimate the orks
and at least they had characters who know the threat of orks
the dark eldar in Da Big dakka on the other hand
Every single character there was blind to the dangers of fighting a giant green alien that can toss a tank if it has grown enough
There being a technical reason doesn’t make it any less dumb.
The whole book they have most of the ad mech just hitting the idiot button over and over
It’s lazy
And I know brooks can write better antagonists or whatever you wanna call them in that book
It’s always more satisfying to write the enemy faction as vaguely competent in any of these books
Especially when “oh no we underestimated the Orks!” Is overdone as fuck
i'm just bringing up the fact that at least brutal cunning has a character that is at least smart on the other side Big Dakka doesn't
i'm just bringing up a better example
I did not enjoy the admech portions in genera because imo
I would have rather him have written more ork stuff
The admech portions were not interesting to me
I don’t really think Brooks is that good anyways so it doesn’t help, idk why he’s so popular
He does a few things pretty good but mostly he’s bland or ok for me
Rites of Passage is probably his best book imo
I’ve only read brutal kunnin I can’t comment on his other works
he has a big mohawk and is spicy on twitter
But imo he does orks well
Hey what are those planets Eldar lived on
i would say the big Dakka is weaker a bit compared to brutal cunning
They are special for some reason
Maiden worlds
Maiden worlds
Mike brooks is writing the new dark eldar book
looking forward to it
Hope it takes off so we can eventually get some new asdrubael vect trickery
I’m sure it’ll have plenty of fourth wall breaking and “looks at the camera and winks” moments that Redditors will soy over
What’s important about them again??
don't do this to me
I hope it lives up to the path of the dark eldar trilogy
Generally there’s a world spirit as Elite said
please keep it grimdark please keep them evil as shit please
The world spirit helps protect the eldar
Queue the loony toons Brookisms
And it also helps fight off invaders that are actively hostile
Also eldar souls can go into it
And it lets them be all “Wood Elves in space”
But its not clear how
Yeah pretty much
They got dinosaurs
So what happens if, idk, imperium sets up on thee
Like those memes like ‘imagine an oil rig here’ meme
My favorite racists
The planet won’t like pollution so
Accidents occur
If there’s eldar already on it
Expect fighting
There’s a fair amount of imperium worlds with world spirits
Fenris and Chogoris are two I believe
Beil’tan is the big craftworld when it comes to humans on maiden world = death
Rogue Trader has you own a planet that has an eldar world soul.
Not after I’m done with it

Oh shit my rogue trader would love that
its kind of a spoiler xD
My RT lovessss xenos artifacts
I really can’t decide on what my trader likes and dislikes
He’s a noble and likes money but he hates heretical stuff (the prologue sent that point really far home)
But I feel like being nice is antithetical to the point of 40k lol
I don’t care how many scenes show up or playthroughs I make I’m not romancing the mutant
Scurry
My trader has the logic, nice and well provided people equals better working conditions and less complaints
Like navigators are REALLY scary
They shouldn’t need better working conditions they should just do their job or ill find someone else
ohh you're one of those type of bosses OK i get it
Got that steel mill owner vibe
The only person my rogue trader doesn’t insult or demean is the navigator and people more powerful then them
Cause he doesn’t want to die
But man if benolvet options don’t seem way smarter half the time
and you think them Rigging the steel mill with a bomb or summoning a demon using symbols in the factories as a good thing?
A ruler is not a ruler without his subjects
Human capital is the most common resource in the 41st millennium
Easily the most evil thing I’ve ever posted
i can tell your dogmatic
maybe with a bit of heretical on the side
This is the only game I don’t feel bad about being mean
Cause a lot of the dogmatic choices are dealing with actual Morons who deserved to be removed from their positions
A lot of them literally make it worse by being ignorant
I am eating your brain to understand your crimes
Didn't you literally say you went heretic last time
Yeah, but this isn't what heretic trader does
I kinda wanna try heretical options but it feels wrong
It's what Chorda doesn lol
It fits for a noble
It's kinda fun
But I really like my non heretical crew
But you get a funny ability that's kinda broken
Heinrix is a fucking whirlwind on the battle field
yeah a lot of your crew members will leave
And I don’t wanna let abelard down😔
Dogmatic keeps everyone
oh good
only heretical drops party
Its argenta, heinrix, yrliet, and ulfar
Him
Heretical gives you so much busted items that losing your companions is the counterbalance
Like in the tutorial you can get a melta pistol
And you get to keep Abelard and Cassia so everything is fine
and an early game heavy bolter
They finally named that thing
Ima be real, my character is like waaaay the weakest member of my party
they did enable Argenta's actual balance shattering bullshit
I do like 11 damage Pasqual does 70
I’m struggling with argenta at the start of act 2 world exploring
My character just literally decided two throw hands
Yeah
She’s still using her original bolter
I saw your progression
Not enough rp for the heavy bolter yet
get the precise bolter from the Kasbasillica
do you go around?
like literally explore everything as much as possible
And blessed bolter shell
some of the best weapons are hidden very ******* well
Just got blessed bolter shell
she is then broken as fuck because she cannot miss
and then you spec arch militant and cannot miss burst attacks
Did you saw the hidden Claymore in footfall
and then you find a backpack in act 4 that increases your fire rate by BS/3 (Yes skill not bonus) for weapons with a fire rate less than or equal to 4
I am exploring, fought a ||forgefiend||
and she magdumps at 100% accuracy with a fucking insane crit chance
Argenta could hardly damage it with her bolter
|| yeah when you're heretical you can keep that||
Abelard falls off lategame sadly
yeah he basically turns into a meat shield
purely because if you can enable Argenta she just sweeps
And cassia can just casually oneshot things with strategist
I'm pretty sure you can keep that but there's also another one in another planet
It's been a while since I've played this game
I stopped using cassia cause lore my dude wouldn’t want to be around her
But Godamn is she strong
In the first place she shouldn't even be allowed to leave the ship she's literally it's lifeline
Yeah she has some of the best buffs and can oneshot things easily
Switched her for the act 2 officer but I’ll probably switch her out for another act 2 character soon
Lidless stare
i'm telling you that's literally it
Lidless is hilarious but it would friendly fire so I barely used it
I used locked in my gaze or whatever her 1 point single target is
I was considering making argenta a flamer instead of bolter since I wasn’t using cassia
For aoe
She also turns veil degradation into a non issue
That confused me for a bit
Argenta can AOE with a bolter
Just because of Soldier ult
I got a bolter in my rari, 16 shots no 38
you didn't get her this?
it's at the quarantine zone i'm pretty sure
In footfall
Area not unlocked yet😔
You're gonna have to wait a bit until it's available
I did get the claymore though
Good
Exploring around for very super OP weapons is the way to go
My officer carry’s it cause it looks cool
Heinrix has the serrated claymore
And abelard the thammer
Fun fact I have no idea if it still works but Wildfire from Arch Militant makes all shots from the Soldier ult give versatility stacks
which if you have the funny backpack
is 16 stacks
Kinda makes me wish darktide had a claymore
eventually
i would love to see that with this
I did that
it was fucking insanity
she wiped the ||LORD FUCKING INQUISITOR|| in one round (lategame spoiler)
So sad I only had it for the last planet though
i got this for my vanguard and it basically turned him into a something hilarious funny bonk
I kinda wanna make a berserker melee rogue trader for my heretic
I just tossed that on Ulfar and never used him cause he was buggy and argenta is a better AM
Is dual wield melee good?
Heretical is very good for melee
Dual wielding is mediocre at best I think
Yeah but I will bring up you need a companion to get this trophy
Dualing a pistol and sword is actually hilarious for AM though
and he leaves when you're heretical
I have a feeling I know the companion in question
Yeah which companion do you think would take a trophy of a giant killing machine as a proof of his kill
One I won’t get for another act
spot on
It'd be cool if the dogmatics tried to kick your ass if you went heretical instead of just leaving
Spoilery question, do I have to serve chaos for heretical trader or can ya just do your own thing?
Decisions decisions
By "serve" i mean pick every single piece of heretical dialouge and go find chunks of a sword
and I mean every piece
you need it all to get to rank 5
True
But I liked some of the admech stuff
I think it definitely could have been done less or done better
where is she keeping him
brunt is hidden from prying eyes because he's hyperintelligent
he has the business savvy to rob thousands of rejects blind
Slannesh and Nurgle are basically the same thing in my eyes.
Their both full of diseases at least
Slaanesh isn't really
I think they were trying to make an STD joke
Yep it's a sex disease joke
Yohan needs to up yo hans on the joke game
Slaanesh and nurgle are basically the same thing in my eyes because I want to choke on both of their tongues
Are tyrandis evil? I am thinking that it seems that a lot of factions who fight does so for reason X or Y. But what is the deal with the tyranids? They just want to eat?
Or do they have another motivation behind their actions?
I think Tyranids mostly just consume biomass because they need to eat.
Tyranid hivemind is sentient so I'd presume it also hungers for information which it gets from other sentient beings by absorbing them. Which could be also driven be malice
and the Hivemind itself doesn’t have concepts of “good” and “evil” the same way individual creatures would.
They are basically space locus for a reason, another ending swarm that just goes around consuming anything in its path
but of course the hive mind is very intelligent as well which is often brought up in debate if they have morality
So them making use of the gene cult is basicly the tyranids just slow cooking?
it's basically a pretty good way of cracking a very tough planet like a fortress world or something
Genestealer cults are based
But it only really works on humans
the biology of the other xenos or their way of life basically hampers anyway a Genestealer can thrive
Tau also get genestolen
in ye olden days there were also genestealer cult orks iirc
I'd imagine Kin could too
but they also had chaos orks
Technically still are, but they get krumped quick
fair
Khorne storm boyz yes
When kill teams 2 released there was a guide of how to make genestealer orks in a white dwarf
There could be a debate of morality in relation to sentience and sapience for the individual bioforms, but I'd say the Hivemind itself is evil.
Tyranids eat the rich so they are pretty based to me
The lower Bioforms might be mindless hungry beasts, but the Hivemind is the intelligence that creates them that way because they're useful to it's goals.
but when i cannibalize rich people i'm suddenly called maniac OK
What about the bioforms that are capable of sentience
or even sapience
hive tyrants stuff like that
Like I said that could be a whole debate, because like even though they have intelligence, they're still subservient and created by a higher intelligence. Like is someone evil if they do evil things because they've been brainwashed their whole life?
That is true that is true I don't even want to bring in the specialized mutations into this
Deathleaper is the exception
The reason there's only 1 deathleaper is because its very independent and refuses to return to hivemind and have its genetic data harvested
I think it might the only tyranid interested in its own self preservation
So the question is "is deathleaper the good guy?" And I'd say "no he eats people"
i was about to buy a horus heresy combat force
but then i thought why the fuck am i paying this much
now i'm buying a better printer
cope harder GW
i clicked on the 40k custodes whining click bait videos
holy hell
Ive never actually legitmately thought someone was a loser, like an actual just LOSER in my entire life
until this moment
I make it like an ethical point not look down on people, and try to see where everyones coming from. I think society is about cooperation and compromise
except for this ONE embarassing nerd in particular, out of the entire human race
xD
MAKE IT STOP
That was your first mistake if the thumbnail is already that idiotic the opinions and points they're going to bring up is just as worse
On a less depressing note, does anyone know how to tell when a something on the Black Library website was release?
its so embarassing I cant even repost it. its THAT bad. Ill just say it features a "controversial leftist politics streamer" in the thumbnail
People will do anything to enforce what they think is right should they really want to do it they would even walk barefoot in hell
Why are black library audio books 40 dollars lmao
Got to pay the voices somehow
movies sell for less than that xD
In SOME cases Black Library actually got some pretty prominent (voice) actors/actresses for their readings.
I remember one of the BL audio stories is actually read by Catherine Tate no less.
And yes, there are memes of Donna Noble lines dubbed over 40k comics for Inquisitor Greyfax (who she voiced)
OH
I just thought the memes were because their voices match so well
I didnt realize she actually voiced Greyfax haha
Yea, came as a surprise to me as well
im not going to link it because it would reflect poorly on me that I even watched it xD
it was like watching a car crash
I couldnt look away
Who is Donna Noble
Or Catherine Tate
Oh they're the same person
I remember her robot dog
I love random people linking them thinking it's a real thing
Then you actually like read the headline in their thumbnail
And it's just
Wow
These are real people that exist
IMAGINE always TALKING like this every time you want to show how COOL or EPIC or LAME something is
I got...
i left a comment
saying most people dont care about this
and this was the response I got:
Incorrect in your opinion and incorrect as a human being. fans who think like me are god and you are a broke would be polygon columnist
Love people not knowing how draconian GW is with their Ip
Also thinking that GW at it's peak is anything but cheap to a megacorp like Amazon
Placing this in your doorway
Why would they
They got no reason to
Warhammer is also just a "random company" in their eyes, these guys are sharks in a massive tank of things to eat, GW is like a goldfish
But then i can get my ultramarines through 1 day shipping with prime
LOL
Amazon: "We've got to have money"
yeah like it would only happen if Bezos was a warhammer fan or something
"Yeah I love your company!"
"Oh thats nice to hear Mr Bezo-"
"Yeah so im buying it and firing you"
"Oh 💀 "
Yeah like its the same with court cases
people think its some complex process
no just have the better lawyer
lol

"thank you for taking my side, here's a case full of gold bars"
You don’t stay a big expensive corporation by buying up other expensive corporations all the time for no reason
i'm pretty sure the emperor had a lot of embed fails in his long life
..HE COULD BE ANY ONE OF US
hes probably the creator of r/atheist
Yo Dilara my anatomy practice has been paying off like crazy 👀
