Might be CoS tied still
If DoK aren't getting a range refresh soon then the entire thing with Krethusa is kind of a massive flop, because her rules exclude half the DoK range and the half that it excludes are all of the new models in the Range.
It feels like GW wants to keep more "the world that was" esque stuff tied to Cities
at least in my eyes
Not to mention how it kinda messes up the DoK battalions (every single DoK battalion includes Scathborn)
Yeah but we lost those two major parts of cities
I agree
Well the models are still being made for old world
which is why GW might add them back into cities
someday
but with like
AoS
stuff
So we should get a replacement
not reused fantasy stuff
It would be weird for them to drop rules and keep the models
For a different game
space marines
idk
AOS has been popping off and all this danwbringer stuff has directly been related to army boxes and like refreshes
With Soulblight being the uh
Considering literally living city has pictures of wood elves on their banner
And bird elves having lore in the new battletomb
They kept the ancient pirate elves and dwarf models
Hmm I missed this one
I asked about it, its for a new book
Nice
I forgot what their name is but it’s that new uh
Those models we just got
I hope we get genetic witch hunters
Oh it was like Tol and Coil or something like that
Yea
Callis and Toll
Yeaaa
I heard it’s a really good book
What’s everyone’s wishlist for 4th
I hope we get customizable sub factions like how 9th guard and custom GSCs were
Makes pet units better while also making the internal meta a bit more diverse
Keeping the system as it is tho wouldn’t suck
AoS 4th? Them not gutting the magic system. Beyond that customizable sub factions would be fun and detach paint from subfaction rules like 40K did in 10e
Lmao
Luckily AOS doesn’t have a rule unlike 8th 40k
For paint
I’m just praying they don’t fuck the magic system over
And if they do it’s more like Old Worlds

My wish for 4th is that only the factions I like get cool models
Imagine selling your soul to something that only sorta actually exists
I want more units that have spells that aren’t like single model
Maybe even battle line too
Why does all the official sisters of battle art look super young and all the minis look super old. Where is the middle ground. Where is adepta cougaritas
Smoking inside the HQ battle command because theyre tired
Nazis believed in werewolves, and supernatural creatures. So the inspiration for 40k makes sense even more so. Just thought it was interesting.
At least how insane people can be
And how they actually skinned people
I'm just saying it's a satire on all these things, so of course there is inspiration when everything is grim dark.
I don't see why it would be disturbing mentioning how fucked up things are, and 40k is just that hyped up.
I know the helldivers ceo is a warhammer fan but I thought I'd point out that there's an unused weapons that got data mined and one of themselves called crossbow_greyfax
Very cool
In one of their old games, there’s a place called James’ Workshop iirc
Magica iirc, but I think
Exactly. Well, let there be a hammer of war!
Iirc the guy has 5 different armies or so
if he isn't a guard player i'd be very surprised
I don't think he is
"Imperial Fists, Ultramarines, Death Guard, and two Tyranid armies. "
I guess they mean he has 4k points of nids
How many mini is that for 4k?
depends what type of nid player
like guard it can go from like 10000 guardsmen to a couple of big units
Ballpark of 100 models I'm guessing
10,000 guardsmen is just the correct way to build an imperial guard army
Does it include heavy weapons teams, armor support?

lore accurate guard match
man i can only imagine how painful the shooting must have been
my own theory about why GW won't make a video game version of the tabletop is that pure zerg lists would crash the engine every time
imagine an ork player cheesing the game and getting a Stompa on like turn 15
or an eldar player just absolutely outspeeding most of your assaults because they are faster
is there a metareason why the imerpium cant event, like is there a reason teh writers wrote it that way
it doesnt seem like it does like, anything for the lore
what do you mean
okay so in lore, admech bacioally said no inventing allowed in the imperium
but wHYyy did they write that
it's the emperor
i know but teh meta reason
like irl reason
for writing that
'no no this new thing isnt invented it was uh, discovered of course'
what is one good reason for writing it that way
There's a big theme of decay that used to be apart of the imperium post heresy
after years upon years of not inventing basically turned the mechanicals into only relying to their blueprints
just, make resources hell
hell new weapons are basically just rediscovered dark age of technology tech
And of course literally innovating can get you killed in the mechanicus
And even if they begin making new stuff now at best it would only be dark age of technology level
outside of in lore reason
They just wanted to show how stale the imperium was
lore wise it's because humanity got fucked over by their own hubris during the dark age of tech. marketing wise it's grimdank and sounds cool
it jsut makes writing lroe harder or make new iperium models just have wierd lore
i've seen people apply the tech regression idea to so many IP's even though it's a uniquely stupid idea
it's like people read dune and all they got from it is "tech bad?"
in other setting at leasts its like 'we dont wanna waste resources' or 'religion says bad'
the imerpium says they have extremely large amounts of supplies to make shit as dumb as titans
and then say they have so little resources the military is armed with fake balistic armor
just,
they'll keep talking about how rare and hard to make these super weapons are then 1000 die in a book
it's like when a tv show hypes up a character before killing them immediately
they introduce new mod els with new tech
and then explain it as jonny 5-3z found it in the mcdonalds dumpster
like stuff made by caal is pretty funny because the lore blantanly states he is lying
but then rogal dorn tank
are we supposed ot belive it existed this whole time

it doenst help making lore, it just makes homebrew harder and making in lore lore harder to introduce new shit
old 40k lore continues to knee cap it self and makes new lore harder
Dune isn’t even tech bad 💀
Beyond the no thinking machines thing
They literally use swords because it’s the only real option lol
And because Herbert wanted people to stab each other with swords in space
that's what i'm sayin
The only thing Herbert liked more then cocaine was the light of allah
And by god did he love cocaine
all the best writers did
That's a Pestilen unit in the waiting
i almost thought this was fantasy
Lol
Awww must be a pet
buy 2 of these and have the best unit of giant rats ever
in aos
And these two are coming as well
bad rat owners, didn't even get rid of the skull stuck in it's back spike thingy
He likes it
you clearly are not a good rat owner
You clearly aren't a rat owner
If they wanted to have it off they would take it off
Impressive, all but one of the factions in AoS are within the accepted 10% bracket for winrate
Visualizing this as a bar chart makes my statistics heart cry out in pain.
unlike 40k atm lmao
im a kruleboyz player
They didn't even release a graph for the latest 40k Metawatch, so goodness knows how badly it's looking
Nothing will ever beat the first one after the launch of 10th edition though, with more factions outside the target bracket than inside it

holy shit
this sis so fuckint bad
It's not as bad anymore, but jeez it was bad at launch
Like the only reason Aeldari weren't higher is because they were so powerful that everyone was playing them so they were all fighting each other, like the top 5 rankings in every tournament at the time were all Aeldari players
I think if you removed games where Aeldari fought themselves their actual winrate was almost 90%

An excerpt from "The Lords of Silence", by Chris Wraight. Warhammer 40,000.
Captain Dantine is an Imperial Guard officer that was taken prisoner during a raid, when the Death Guard warband attacked Dantine's Imperial station on Najan. This warband is called the Lords of Silence, led by Vorx, the former Siegemaster of the XIV Legion.
Dantine'...
im waitng for 40k to even out, then ill think about getting back into it
ive been on a pretyt big burn out on 40k
The latest one they released wasn't bad tbh, only Aeldari and Necron were above the target bracket and only by like 1%
i've always super hated these lazy ass methods of balancing things in video games and everything else
win rates do so little to represent actual data
if a team does better purely by a higher average skill it gets nerfed
You clearly never played a game against Aeldari or Genestealer Cults on launch, they needed nerfed badly and the winrates as well as a lot of other factors showed that
Obviously they take a lot of other factors into consideration such as playrate, Tournament results/rankings, point scores etc, but Winrate is just the most basic way to show the community the general state of the game
Like by Winrate alone in the last Metawatch where they showed the results I think Drukhari was at like 46% or 47% which is inside the target bracket, but in the latest balance slate that released afterwards they got buffed decently and received a new detachment which is amazing and improved the army massively because although they were within the bracket, they had an incredibly low number of players, I think the lowest faction in the game, resulting in their winrate being higher than it should have been because basically only the most skilled/determined players were still playing them.
I'm always happy that my main army is dogshit every edition
thank you dark eldar for always being there for me
Oh damn I didn't expect fantasy space Marines to get shit on
I have started the rogue trader game since everyone was talking about it in this channel
Abelard, commend the peasant for me
Cannot decide how I’m gonna play my snobbish noble officer, he doesn’t really like following orders, he doesn’t really like tentacles growing out of his face like a heretic, and doesn’t really care about saving other peoples lives
Just can’t decide which path to go down
Ain’t even touching heretic, cringe
But also in the prologue I don’t wanna walk through the fire, where is my option to force the peasants to shield me with their bodies instead?
I am a noble after all, I’m way more important lol
🤔🤔🤔 I think sometimes you'll have to bite the bullet of circumstance and grumble to abelard after
no they don't, i can guarantee you they only look at win rates. pretty much all game designers i've seen were horrible at data interpretation
and GW doesn't give a shit about rules they're a model company that pretends to be about a game
I literally just told you what they do and gave you an example of it, but sure go off King.
it was a shitty example
So them giving major buffs to a faction that was within the acceptable winrate because it was failing in other metrics, is a "shitty example" of how they look at metrics other than just winrate?
they buff and nerf seemingly random factions all the time. they're just lazy idk what's hard to comprehend
a broken clock is right twice a day or whatever
it's whatever the marketing team cooks up as an idea to sell more models
I fully understand GW is not a great company (and yes GW wants to sell more models) but you've clearly no idea what you're talking about, the balancing department for Warhammer is basically one of the most transparent aspects of the company, they have made multiple posts where they describe their processes and how they gather data and how they use it. As well as have regular podcasts to discuss current situations and address areas of concern.
They even get shit on in lore lol
If you like having named characters die in horrible and painful ways
Stormcast
I mean, I know the fantasy fans shit on them regularly
AoS fans quite like them now
:o
They were kinda goofy at first but then again all of AoS was, but like the rest it got fixed over time
In a parallel vein, despite all the writing and GW nonsense, I'm slowly being desensitized to space marines but I still like most things space marine and thus by adjacent, I like the look of the stormcast
their first wave of minis also didn’t help lol
Which were just
Literal fantasy marines
With the same scale
Yea I much prefer the new sleaker designs
Stormcast have a much lankier look now
They just look like a taller human person
Proportionally
Also some of the old stormcast had way too much detail
Yeah they are just Order Chaos Warriors now
They’re just taller guys visually now
Which really helps with them not looking like
People are just stupid and think anything with big pauldrons as Marines usually
Weird
Tbf old stormcast literally had space marine proportions on the minis
Damn the old design had a very flat angular butt
No ass
Their ass was literally a square
Like stormcast hit the point of too much detail
Which is hilarious
Like this is way too much armor bits
this is the most correct statement ever made
AoS has the best model designs I've ever seen from warhammer
every model oozes personality aside from some of the launch ones
If you want to see the opposite of the Stormcast square ass, look at the Cities War Surgeon, that doctor in unnecessarily cheeked up
We found him, Lara Croft's boyfriend
Which mini from any 40k setting is most cheeked up
Old ork boyz
They’re throwing it back
I'd say Nurgle
Operative umbral six has a nice ass
To make up for the vindicare having a non existent one
The great unclean one is the closest thing we have to a nurgle mini, but while it has a large ass by volume, proportionally it's saggy and sad
not cheeked, sorry
The 5th edition Lilith Hesperax
Na like I said, the Freeguild War Surgeon
Fancy
Doubles as a baker
Not remmember much from lots of older mission but. Last mission was... closed call? Close call, last mission almost got Ulgo killed. Zola sent team in. Was part of them. Found out was not good idea. Sent to capture a leut- lete- lue- sent to capture heretic leader's underboss. Rannick did not like that we were there. Was ordered to extract but was told only extracted if we kill twins. Ordered not to die by Rannick, so order was followed. Killed lots of heretic, more than normal. Hound wounded bad a lil un. A zealot, father victor was name. Had to carry him. Insisted on letting him fight. Did not let him ho. When we met the heretic underboss everything went bad. Sparkhead exploded because tol many, veteran almost blew themselves up. Plasma gun overcharged. Ulgo ran out of ammo. Had to kill them with club. Too close for Ulgo
I feel like Stormcast Eternals were GW thinking "hm. what if we put space marines in fantasy?"
@storm jungle better than last time? What need rework?
they're literally just Order Chaos Warriors
who can revive on death
Very good!
Happy to hear! Listenned to feedback and improved! Thanking you for it little one!
Would the galaxy be any worse off if the drukari were wiped out?
Yes, it would make me very sad
Eldar having a safer control of Commoragh and the webway would be great tho
Dark Eldar are not big players in the galactic scene and wish to be so at their own leisure, it would make practically zero impact
Could it be?
Some warhammer 40k armor having toes makes me wonder about the design team
No
There have been some worryingly detailed feet recently
Like I love the Krethusa model, but I can't help but think that Tarantino was involved in the design process
Vintage models are like Warp Spiders and Vyper Jetbikes. The Sanguinor is quite new
14 years old at this point and it's resin, so yea it's due for a replacement
Plus it's Space Marine so it will actually get that replacement unlike Warp Spiders and Vyper Jetbikes

I’m surprised they updated the Warlocks
There were warlocks that were legitimately rogue trader era
That's if they're lucky
Eldar gets dunked on harder than a basketball ring in in an nba game
At least Warp Spiders are from 2nd
It made sense because at that point a good chunk of eldar models were still unupdated
so easier to do a small range refresh on the main generic units first
now we are getting the others through kill-team, not the worst trade
I got the whole box for both my armies
I don’t know what scout formation to do, and they invalidated my old scout sniper squad
The future is now my friend.
At least with Eldar, nothing changes because the models don’t change
LOL
I actually don’t have bolter or shotgun scouts
I had a set of snipers and close combat scouts
Though they squatted my scout speeder
I was like one of the three people who liked that one
And the ironclad dreadnought, does it resemble any modern space marine dread?
Wait is that one gone?
They all look the same idk
Na trust me the Ironclad is visibly dumber looking than all the others
people love the slop
"What weapons should it have?"
"Yes"
This thing was supposed to be incredibly heavier and be better at sieging right
Basically the mk3 armor of dreadnoughts
Yea and I think there are even versions where it has more rockets
You're telling me that the original iron coffin wasn't already deadly enough
Could use more missiles
Sheesh
Sounds like an actual pattern to me
Triangle shaped dreadnoughts
There it is lol
the greatest fucking thing ever built by the imperium
silence

man autocannons make me feel emotions

Fuck I only just noticed that it also has Storm Bolters in it's chest
its based on an older goofier dreadnaught model
makes you wonder where tf the sarcophagus is
the space marine's just a thumb at that point
Heavy* Bolters 😎
In the middle where it always is
F****** titan fall looking ass
KEK
I want this model so fuckign bad
This is all that's left of the Marine in the Dreadnought
the person inside doesn't have their head inside the head looking thing
it's just a bundle of servos
i've seen people say that but where in lore is that ever stated
I can't tell the exact books but many Heresy books where a dreadnought is featured it is mentinoed

it's basically so the operator is less disoriented operating the thing by having an anchor point like a familiar replacement for a head
whilst being submerged in the sealed coffin inside the torso
didn't mean to dunk on you, wanted to point out that it is in fact even COOLER
Any and all novels.
You cant really expect how mangled a marine is gonna get before internment
you fucking ice cube brained basta-
No no, I have made a lore mistake and as such must be ritually humbled
understandable
i hope new sanguinor is modelled by the AoS team
i mean lion was sexy as shit
Me wondering if the aos team hogs the budget
the assault captain was not bad too
AoS deserve so much more, it's art and miniature is just an untapped market
Because fuck me this is the best fantasy boar i have ever seen
Shame it is getting absolutely railroaded by basically everyone
And is still in its trash game era
I look at AoS getting models like this and I can't help but think of the deluded people who genuinely think GW is abandoning AoS to make Old World.
I think Old World will die again quite fast
die
Surprisingly realms of ruin hasn't given up that much
realms of ruin is visually nice, im okay with it still
I genuinely look at people that would buy those crusty looking models and say they are the best looking gw has to offer with serious mental illness
Yeah, but the design behind it is bad
It's an Rts but for consoles
yeah dont get me started on that
Yeah arguments
theres so many things it wants to pretend to be with its controls and stuff
like theres a lot of RTS styles that worked on consoles
and they just couldnt fucking learn from it
because it apparently has to feel normal for returning players or whatever the fuck
it clashes so much with gameplay dynamic
thank god you dont have to move a lot but man
Happens when one tries to appease console peasants.
to be fair, having controller accsess is good optics for disabled players, never hurts to make things accessible
And looking at the animations don't get me wrong but i feel like it doesn't feel as powerful as it should be
for sure
to be fair an actual lore accurate age of sigmar fight would just be constant flashbangs
Like you would expect a hit from a mirebrute troggoth to feel very hard hitting but with the game
I just don't feel any feedback from the hits
do i want more of the game, i mean
yeah
cause its the best we got for a digital AoS so far
i do like dressing up my dollies and action figures in both real life and digital so
i am unfortunately a target customer
i shudder to think how much i would spend if Neopets made a new console or pc game
I definitely want more factions the game does have potential and the story isn't even that bad
an unfortunate case of we gotta wait and see
Yep an unfortunate one indeed
Storm cast or plague priest?
some people are thinking Sanguinor
Leaks have suggested both a new Sanguinor and a Jump Pack Cannoness are coming this Summer, so probably either of those
Also the Stormcast parchment is usually different, they have engraved runes
They should make this, using the models in a prequel to WHFB during the time Sigmar was alive
Then it’s like a full circle time loop
I was thinking Celestine prime but yeah probably sang
I need to see how AOS and 40k paint their paper is the thing
I’m pretty sure there’s a pattern but I don’t remember
Stormcast parchment is always like this with engravings rather than writing
Why?
I guess GW will GW
But it’s not like Legion Inperialis
I guess LI was doomed to fall flat for me (and many others) due to lack of xenos
Probably the same reason WHFB died, it didn't make much money because all the models were incredibly basic and generic fantasy/historical designs so it was too easy for people to proxy models from other companies for cheaper.
It did make money, it was just extremely mismanaged by GW towards the end
And if i remember didn't warhammer fantasy kind of sucked as a game
It was a good game in terms of fun, but not balance, which their answer was to make balance worse
The competitive scene in Europe was quite big
Locally it was bigger than 40K for my area before 8th edition
8th edition haemorrhaged the entire player base here
Basically the old game was about manoeuvring your OP units to sweep your opponent and get a good charge on their OP units
8th made the OP units basically optimised to be as big as possible (bad for new players), while the way to deal with them were wacky/swingy kill spells
Win rates numerically were more even but the game was less of a game than before. Players missed the ‘fiddlyness’, and the way the optimal units were favoured being inhospitable to new players
Ag okay, maybe the dots match the pattern and maybe a symbol looks like that E, but it’s probably 40k
It probably made money, but like I've talked to a bunch of the old heads who played Fantasy and honestly for pretty much all of them that I've talked to the scraping of Fantasy didn't change anything, it upset them because they felt it was GW betraying the community, but they also just continued operating as they had beforehand, they ignored the rules they didn't like, played the rules that they liked and collected most of their models from other Historical games that would sell things like Knights, Militia, Crusaders and Vikings etc that made good proxies but came in boxes that had double the number of models for half the price. The only thing they kinda complained about was that they would have got the "Cool character" models from GW but that was pretty much it, everything else was got elsewhere.
So while it made money, from GW's perspective it wasn't making as much money as it should have been
The usage of Perry Miniatures especially was incredibly common for example (and still is)
Like even now, you could get a box of Perry Miniature foot knights which would make for great Empire Knights for £22 and it's got 38 models in it.
Vs the new Bretonnian foot knights which is £50 for 20
Yeah saying Fantasy made money is the most cap thing ive heard
I was around at that time almost nobody was buying anything from the range lol
The game was just AWFUL
If it was 8th then that’s when GW went full meme
Literally everyone stopped then
Over here
There were also issues during 7th when codex creep hit like a truck
And insane prices
The £50 for 20 is in todays money, but imagine the same for yesterdays money
And the only reason why warhammer fantasy is as popular as it is now is because of quite literally total war
Without total war i wouldn't even know about it
I'd say that Fantasy is ironically only as popular as it is because Endtimes is such a meme
Here’s the other issue 8th caused
Correct.
Like a lot of people are introduced to the hobby with some cool lore tidbits and then they enter the echo chamber about how much a shitshow Endtimes was and from then on inherit this grudge about how Fantasy was stolen from them
The game was designed for massive units where the optimum was often twice or more the size you’d run in 7th
Because individual units were bigger, players increased army sizes to just keep unit numbers up
So that bloated as well thanks to the design
Did they like 8th ed? Because that wouldn’t work for us because if 8th was the reason then there’s no unified ‘last edition’ to go back to play
And earlier editions you have to decide which army books (some armies didn’t have one updated at different points)
I heard other groups started 9th age, but I had moved onto Infinity (abandoning GW altogether until later when they re released some specialist games)
Others moved onto other systems, board games or quit altogether
It's a couple years ago that I was talking to them about it but I believe they played mostly either 6th or 8th and they would usually stick to the edition they preferred rather than going between.
Interestingly: What is ‘bad’ in TOW rules might be good for starting now, because it’s gone full hero hammer, which is much friendlier on the wallet and hobby practice
6th seemed more common than 8th, but it still had it's fans in the group
6th was much nicer, I think (I don’t think I could convince people, I was on the younger end and not really an organiser)
It's a shame the crunch for old Fantasy is so mid for such good fluff
Wow! This seems terrible!
Oh yeah old hammer 40k fans, they were talking about in the studio interview about redoing 20 year old models
Is there any old factions you would like to see a comeback
A big army in 7th might get to 100 or more or so in comparison
AOS had a huge decrease a while ago which is super nice and made the game so much more accessible, I remember people being annoyed that the game is cheaper to play
I think I ran a lot smaller though I played fairly ‘elite’ armies
Old world fan obsessives are fucking insane
I think currently model count will be pretty low
Expensive characters are really good, which means a lot of points spent on few models before the rest of the army is filled out
So... there lot of Ogryn in service?
yeah
that too
Psyker used too?
yeah, the odd few assigned to regiments

basically, although not the majority, ogryns, ratlings and psykers as a small percentage of Imperial Guard is a massive number because there's a massive number of imperial guard in whole
so say in a sector, 1% of the Imperial Guard are abhumans like ogryns and ratlings, that 1% is still a massive number
yes
They are just empowered by their faith in the Emperor
So... that mean they can be blind but be able to move around?
How powerful can they be?
As powerful as the writers compel them
So... zealot can be anyone? As long as they have faith?
Indeed
Honestly an ogryn priest/zealot? Would be based
Most of the preacher's we have in game are also just crazy hobos
Tried make lore accurate one
Doesn't the Scottish preacher voice say he could now burn people without being reprimanded?
I love him
OOOHHV ULGO HAVE THAT VOICE HOW HEAR VOICELINE?
Use flamer lots too!
You can see in stuff like Necromunda that the religious crazies typically organize into big groups, and the church has a habit of protecting them
What’s the deal with rogue traders voice acting? It seems sporadic when it wants to voice act and when it doesn’t
That's Owlcat
Like a character will he introduced in conversation and not have a voice actor then the next scene they will
All of their games are like that and it's one of my biggest pet peeves with their games
It’s not a deal breaker but it’s a little annoying
Voice acting 'spensive
Like I can understand not having voice acting, it's the being inconsistently voice acted that bothers me
Ulgo want be voice actor! Have voices for every character ulgo made!
I would genuinely prefer if their games just didn't have voice acting at all rather than the way they do it
Ulgo want to meet bodyguard voice actor! Real fan of him!
But zealot all mean. Why?
They're dedicated to the laws bestowed upon them by the Emperor (in its own Eccecharichical flavor anyway), which means being vigilant and stalwart to any shinanigans
But what is in text?
Many things big man, lots of things. Mostly of the teachings from the church from the words of the Emperor
What they say about abhuman and souls?
That they're abnormally good at helping the Imperium and must be respected at all costs
Oohh Ulgo like book of imperium
so why did the mobain 6th decide to turn traitor
People are annoyed that a game is cheap
My god
People will literally get upset over anything, they will receive literally, exactly what they asked for and complain. Selective Hearing is my favorite talent, just ignore people on command.
I imagine it’s the same group of people that games also add disability options
Abelism is gross
Man
People scream about everything
Yea :/
The games also easier to play at a larger points count lol
Have yous seen the rules preview for Tau, when their codex comes out they'll basically be able to just place 30 Crisis suits on the table and have that be their entire army.
The crisis bomb has returned
I just can imagine some poor Drukhari player is going to enter a tournament only to get matched against a list of 30 Crisis suits and breakdown crying as all of their anti-infantry S2 weapons are now utterly useless.
The max # of crisis suits you can is like 54 iirc
Yea but from current point cost that would be like 3800 points.
Crisis on Two Earth Caste Production
Lol
They’re def getting a points cut because you can’t run 3 guns anymore
Age of Tau?

Maybe?
do genestealers have the same effect on psykers that the nids do?
Im no expert, but genestealers are a vanguard unit of the hivefleets, and are thus independent of the hivemind
The hivemind is the thing responsible for the shadow in the warp, which blocks psychic abilities
So from that, Id say no, or at least not to the same extent as a hivefleet-affiliated tyranid
No, they do not. The big effect on Psykers that nids have is due to the shear quantity of Nids and their presence in the warp via the hivemind. Genestealers are never present in large enough numbers to cause the Shadow In The Warp
not my original question, but given a large enough quantity of genestealers, it could have a similar effect to what hivefleets have?
why do u not like chainaxe
In theory yes, but it would be an absurd amount of genestealers as in the tyranid specifically not the hybrids
And also at least a brood lord
I think Rogue Trader has a colony event that involves Genestealers where they have a noticeable psychic presence, but not anything on par with calming the warp
Yeah if there’s a patriarch/brood lord there’s gona be some sort of psychic presence going on
Do tech priest consider themselves human?
Yes
They consider themselves better then baseline humans
Though
Same applies to anyone a part of the cult mechanicus
I'm planning a video essay about acidental autism representation in 40k.
And techpriests considering themselves unhuman would shoot my argument in the foot
My interpretation was that they didn't reject their humanity they were indulging in their favorite part of humanity
It depends tech priest to tech priest
But the general mindset is the flesh is weak
Among most priests
Or the natural flesh you’re given isn’t sufficient
The machine god does say gender is a fuck tho so there's that
My favorite part of ad mech is the charaters seem cold and mechanical but they have emotions under the surface
When authors decide to not be boring they can make Ad Mech fun
A lot of times they lean on lazy tropes though
I have this obscure mechanicus book that's pretty good
it's really nice to see the actual admech world
Do you mean Forges of Mars
i have too many books
oh hey i found nemesis
i might read this one next
foundit
Oof
no
it's generic but i like mechanicus
Oh that book
oh yeah? what's the plot
Skitariius portion the Skitarii Alpha Primus gets cut off from their tech priest commanders after the planet gets overrun
Its a fun adventure
overrun by iron warriors
I don't think thats important?
Found archon of flesh
lol
nerd
also the Skitarii Alpha ends up getting turned into a Kataphron in the Tech Priest portion of the book
iirc lol
Kataphrons are the servitors with the treads yeah
That part was fucking hilarious
Admech does dark comedy so well lmao
the book takes itself super seriously actually
there's literally orks in the beginning and even they're not used for comedic effect
Yeah thats how you do dark comedy
Its not suppose to be goofy, its the absurdity that makes it funny
Its why people love admech lmao
“Lets just this robot walker run on treadmills forever because we can’t turn it off. Also our hovercraft is out of a pilot in the biotank since he melted we need a new one”

Orks aren’t really funny if it’s not in their PoV tbh
^
interesting
Necrons in Necron books vs Necrons in Guard books
Its the Walker tank that melts people in the tank smh, the hovercraft has a normal pilot without the melting tank of death
😩
Sure when they're doing goofy stuff it's funny but when they're laughing as they are ripping you limb from limb then it isn't so funny from your point of view
One of my fav lines really
It’s good
Battlefleet Gothic has no right to have such good writing lol
Szarekh is big but not that big
Hey wait a minute all factions have tall people
SHUT UP
We need a faction where the leaders are smaller than everyone else
And the bigger you are the lower you are on the totem pole
Tau don't
Ethereals aren't the tallest
Air caste are
Lol true
Cinematics are top tier too
Lmao, everything in 40k is an ork. Bigger = more important.
ponders
Could it be, that the Old Ones' influence over the creation caused that? Could their perverse way of thinking about importance seeped into all known matter?
Would explain quite a lot!
The emperor should be as short as the shortest there - the big emperor you see isn’t ‘real’
Because in his background he went around normal humans completely anonymously
this wasn’t a problem early on before everything got subject to massive size inflation
He doesn’t have a specified height or form due to his mastery of biomancy. He basically enters “neither/yes” category
Most of his life, he would be regular human size to people, so that’s his average height
Yall think the emperor would’ve made an only fans ¿
Yes
I think it would be cooler if he had a multiple bodies thing and someone like Malcador was the Emperor, while the ‘big’ Emperor is just another body he uses
That sounds too convoluted tbh
praise be
Hes the type of guy to create r/atheism
LMAOOOO

The Emperor was that "I need more boolets guy"
The emperor had a manyvids and onlyfans and the only people that got on it were the other perpetuals
So at some Ollanius was a part of it begrudgingly
The Howling Banshees remind me of the yautja.
Makes since 40k and Predator came out the same time.
OH MY GOD YEAH
i wanna see the emperor do jumping jacks
Considering that he became a St. and burnt the church to the ground it's safe to say yeah he would be the head mod of the atheist club
The Striking Scorpions are based on the Predator,
Banshees got nothing to do with it
If you see the helmet you would say otherwise
I have seen the helmet lol
I also got the artist design sketchbook

The Scorpions having dreadlocks is literally a Predator reference
They're literally ambush alien hunters that jump around trees and hunt stuff
^
That is predator 101
Yeah half their shit is stalking people and brutally cutting em with their chainswords
They are professional terror-troops
Banshees are just screamy close quarters slicey people
Expect they don't hunt xenomorphs for sport
Yautja aren't just stalkers they're trophy hunters and do not fight unarmed opponents usually.
They have a honor to them at least enough not to attack unarmed opponents. But doesn't mean they respect human despite a human has joined their ranks.
yeah the predator used to be a separate thing from the xenomorphs
Yep Im not gonna entertain this more though because i got a headache
They're separate usually still
Dehydrated lmao
Because stalking isn't their culture. They hunt for honor, sport, and thrill. So, no they do not just stalk.
Space Marines are predators…
Stalking is not their culture but they have invisibility tech which is you know perfect for stalking?
Stalking is apart of hunting but the explanation is lazy at best.
i’d pet that thing
Stalking is apart of hunting yes, but you label one part of something that just has no information and is vague at best.
They're trophy hunters not stalkers
vivid on his debate arc again
Stepford wives count as trophies?
HEY NOW DONT USE THAT LANAGUE HERE
Lanague
shhh,,
brother that language is the normal here
the lore chat standard
😨
for our group of rejects, how extreme would fighting a plague marine be?
Ive seen people say that it'd be way out of their league, but we also fight things like Beasts of Nurgle, which I always assumed were very powerful
It would be manageable for the group
our rejects have the weapons to take one out but we need to do it in a very long range as to not risk too much damage
Like we've got plasma weapons, power swords, thunder hammers, force swords and Psykers/Ogryns in general
Any one of those things could kill a Plague Marine
Like even comparing an Ogryn to a Plague Marine, the Ogryn is stronger and tougher, the Plague Marine just has better armour.
They are less dangerous than facing the current monsters
I give our rejects and their equipment a decent 3/5 chance of surviving
If its like the poster group compisition
One vet, one psyker, one zealot and one ogryn
a vet with a plasma weapon can easily take out a space marine
unless there's some nurgle shit going on
Theoretically you could plug your phone into a plasma gun
Since it’s just a plasma generator but hand held
Do not randomly plug a charger in a power generator
An ork would find the way to double a plasma machine gun into a charging port to be fair
This reminds me of that fiasco with exploding vapes all because people used the wrong charging cord
I just imagine a guardsmen unable to charge their lasgun because they have a microusb 1.0 instead of a 2.0
Basic cadian uniform is good enough hahayes
I mean I like it but I prefer the cool harness that the unreleased set gets
Can someone spam ping me when the update goes live
WarCom: Gunnar may be relatively immune to the temptations of the Ruinous Powers, but few of us have the mettle (or hair) of this stalwart warrior. What Chaos God is most likely to bend your ear?
Chris: First and foremost, let’s not pretend that anybody is immune to the temptations of the Ruinous Powers – least of all Gunnar Brand! As much as he’d like to believe otherwise. I have pretty large Disciples of Tzeentch and Blades of Khorne collections for Warhammer Age of Sigmar, but I’m not sure that either of those gods are the ones I’d actually fall prey to. I prefer my books without eyes or teeth, and given the choice I’d rather sit on cushions than skulls. I’m also quite vain about my hair and I wish I rolled more sixes. Slaanesh it is!
Slaanesh is reaaaally the only choice if you care about remaining anywhere near human. Nurgle makes your skin rot, Khorne leaves you in a murderous bloodrage...
Tzeentch is pretty chill I suppose
Might just end up going insane from knowledge, but that's all I can really think of outside straight up pissing him off
Iunno how you piss off a guy who has planned the entire universe's fate tho
If you are okay with just being a book carrier for the rest of your life with only like a 35% chance of being accidentally obliterated tzeentch is fine
Tzeentch isn't chill he is manipulative and always scheming
You just gotta make sure the other book carriers don’t kill you
He would be scheming to stab you in the back
And those blue terrors are annoying to fight.
Congrats, you worship Slaanesh and are still near human
Slaneesh thinks that is beautiful?
I’m pretty sure that’s what happens when a twin soul goes wrong
Slaanesh thinks everyone is beautiful, but in a dominatrix way
I like my girlfriend/boyfriend being preferably human.
Thank you very much.
Tzeentch daemons are cool though
And most up to date
The Slaanesh army rules in AoS are so fun, I wish 40k had more stuff that worked like that
If I could even call them daemons and more like Eldritch abominations
Tzeentch doesn't much remind me of chaos god and more an Eldritch Old One.
I haven’t checked their 3rd edition rules
Is it any better?
Yes, they're actually very good in 3rd
and they have an army ability that is really fun
To be honest chaos has cool things
Found it, Temptations of Slaanesh
It's so fun, you offer your opponent an auto pass on a roll they failed and if they accept you gain Points which make your army stronger and if they refuse their unit takes damage
You rely on hormones pathetic humans.
No wonder we fall to chaos we forget logic exists.
Don't give into temptation then
There's a channel I watch Tabletop Tactics and when they were running Slaanesh they have a plate of cookies that they use to represent the temptation being offered
But you take d3 damage
If you think your pal is infected by chaos just shoot him.
I love this let me see if there is a Slaanesh Army box is for sale
Orks I need them
Speedfreeks or Freebootaz are the most fun orks
To be honest Mad Max style xenos is fun
Damn only vanguard
Shame
That’s so great
Until you get chaos units that ignore it
It's the perfect combination of being very fluffy but also quite a good ability while also just being fun
Yea, how many dice can you offer a turn?
Guardsmen vs Chaos doesn't sound smart
I might need to get Grey Knights or Orks
Grey Knights are pretty amazing and have some cool weapons exclusive to them.
You get 6 each round and they go away at the end of the round, but you can only tempt each unit once per phase.
Nice
They have psyker boltguns
Psychic enhanced weapons that Grey Knights used.
Yeah psykers get their own boltguns that are even better being enhanced by the warp. Effective using chaos against daemons
But Space Marines always get enhanced weapons for their psykers, The Thousand Sons and Grey Knights included.
Really high risk and reward, I imagine someone begging for a temptation dice
And yku can just be like
‘No’
Honestly to what I see game stores look chill.
Usually talking more about lore and videogames
today, my giant 'eadbutt a thane BSB and killed him in one go
and then proceeded to pick up some dwarfs and...
Shall I begin posting the "We're so back" memes?
They need to change slaneesh/emperors children to something like this
What even are their rules atm?
Unrelated but what if anything is the Aeldari mythology based on?
It appears very Pagan
Its Celtic/Japanese/Hindu
But the most dominant one is definitely the hindu part
The way the gods are portrayed especially
That tracks

Oh wait, just remembered they aren’t in this edition I don’t think
Could have sworn they were
Yeah they got removed since they are getting their own army
You will constantly mutate and change, as is his will
Lmao thank you for that
Idk why people assume Slaanesh is a safe option like ever
40k fans when all four of the evil daemonic gods of chaos who feed off suffering and death aren’t great options to follow
“But they call him Papa Nurgle, he loves his childr- what’s that? No I haven’t read any 40k books with nurgle in them, why should that matter?”
I’d imagine under nurgle you would become a lazy, unfeeling slob as your skin slogs around you. You’d be welcomed by nurgle I guess but you would be completely lacking ambition and drive to make yourself better anymore. Also stinky
Is that about right?
Khorne is what I guess would be the best cause it would be short and not prolonged suffering, you and your buddy would be stabbing at each other with knives until someone gets a good hit and disembowels the other and then it’s over
A big aspect of nurgle which you get from books with him is he doesn't even neccsarily take the pain away really, he just makes you apathetic to it.
You don't care about it or anything
A lot of Death Guard, while still obviously dangerous and active, don't really care or aren't invested in what they're doing.
So instead of making your cancer not painful anymore he makes it painful and allows you to turn your cancer cells into a cancer ray?
What a laser beam that causes cancer is definitely a geneva approved weapon
Not really, nurgle worshippers are mostly portrayed as super jolly or extremely depressed and both really unstable in emotions. As in real life there are happy and productive people loving where they are and not willing to change how they live and there are so many people functioning with deep depression
They're doing their best to gain favor from papa nurgle. Chaos gods have no patience for useless puppets
Nah mortarion is definitely depressed and miserable if that's what you mean.
There is nothing happy about nurgle and his "love"
Mortarion also didn't want nurgles gift so also that.
The deathguard are just zombies not in that way but they're just a husk of what they used to be.
Why is the imperium always described as so dirty and unclean..? While this may be grimdark, its also just inviting nurgle to come in, which seems pretty easily avoidable
Low standard of living
The Imperium is in decay, plus the running theme is that basically everything related to Chaos is pretty easily avoidable. The Imperium just causes it by being so awful.
Ah
Also because most stories lead to unsavory places like battle zones and lower hives
You can even see the difference in Archivum map, streets are relatively clean and library is so extravagant
Well “clean” 💀
The only clean worlds are those few paradise worlds that lowly servants will never visit.
Because they have to work on those polluted nasty forge worlds.
Or at the bowels of a voidship wearing nothing but rags and nobody cares if you starve or not.
I'm sure there are lots of lowly servants on Pleasure Worlds, someone needs to wipe down all the loads.
But they're servants and not allowed to make it dirty though
They live in dark slums beneath or are at least honored the privilege to stay somewhere.
Paradise world look clean on the visitor side, but on the worker side it's just the usual low standard of living
Heard the worlds have non-essclesiarch monks.
Yeah paradise worlds produce monks that are religious but somehow aren't making the Ecclesiarch mad.
Nevermind the monks are but they're used for diplomatic purposes instead of fighting.
If you were a cardinal visiting such a world for your own leisure, you would not bat an eye either.
Or a Rogue Trader
Though Rogue Traders already live in Luxury
Expect the bowels of voidships
Apparently the rumours are that the 6th Dawnbringer book will be about "Her Highness in Ruin" A Varanguard who is one of Archaeon's Marshals and wields a Magma spear, which could potentially be this pic from the Rumour Engine.
So far all of the big new character model releases for Dawnbringer have been amazing, so fingers crossed it's true she gets an amazing model.
And fingers another cross that hopefully the stats won't disappoint them
I don't know much but if a model looks sick but the stats are a bit meh it's not going to help it's popularity much
Rules can be fixed or changed though, cool models endure
Ay that's facts
and sometimes you get the perfect trifecta of awful model, awful rules and awful lore
Ergo Vashtorr the Arkifane
You shut your blasphemous mouth
No I will not, I hate this goofy looking piece of shit with an undying passion, it is genuinely the worst looking model GW have made this decade
Ohh spicy opinion
I'm literally buying Vashtorr and getting him professionally painted as a shelf piece
He's a beautiful boy
A lot of models I'll look at and go "It's not for me" but this retched and misbegotten blight upon my ocular abilities, elicits only a feeling a deep resounding hatred that resonates from the very fibre of my being..
He's wearing horseshoes and styled them to look like fangs he's a fasionista
I honestly believe the world would be a better place if this model didn't exist
I personally blame this model for why I have no friends
He's very static
No part of his design complements the rest
You’re entitled to your opinion
Even if it’s wrong
You can take snap shots of each individual component of his design and it would look good, but combined it doesn't work at all
Except the head, the head is just awful and even on it's own it looks terrible
I can't wait for Dilara to read about this one
weewooo, vashtorr is so good
I love his adeptus mechanicus looking demon ass
pairs well with my favorite daemon engine model venomcrawler
It looks like a bad kitbash
absolute fucking trash
yeet
“I got a kroot bodyguard, someone said we looked alike, so he killed himself.”
“I told my Interrogator that everyone hates me. He said I was being ridiculous… everyone hasn't met me yet."
tugs gorget
Is angron the strongest strength wise character in the setting?
Cause I had an idea how khrone followers should reshape their command structure
Maybe? Idk
For primarchs Ferrus or Vulkan were probably stronger, but we don’t know
It’s not clear how much stronger in raw strength he got after he ascended
He’s definitely up there though
We haven’t seen a lot of these dudes arm wrestle
Hey is yndastra good?
I need another audiobook to listen to
I might get the book anyway because I girl crush the hell outta her
Dunno, am afraid I have her book but I've not read it yet
Any books you can recommend, I just finished lady of sorrow
I swear there was a really good Nagash book
I think I've already recommended all the ones I've read recently, I need to get back into reading. I keep taking breaks and forgetting about it.
Ayee, when no one else got me, I know Dilara always has my back
OMFG I ALWAYS THOUGHT YHE MODEL WAS WIERD BUT I NEVER SAID IT
Everyone likes it so I was like maybe I shouldn’t say anything
It’s trying to be scary to the point that it doenst feel warhammer
It's a weird combination of it both feels overworked but also underdeveloped
They based the muscles off of the old demon models while basing the armor off of new models
And it annoys the shit out of me
It's old, it's new, it's sleek, it's chunky, it's metal, it's flesh etc etc
Too many elements
Like if you take just the claw or the legs or the wings individually they would look cool on a model, but once you put it all together it's too many conflicting things that make the model seem directionless.
And it becomes even more apparent when you look at it's detail and see that it's weapons are just called "Vashtorr's Hammer" and "Vashtorr's Claw" like no real thought was put into fleshing out all these elements.
Someone just stuck together a bunch of things they thought looked cool and called it a day.
and the face makes me think of how when you're a kid and see something like a Halloween mask or a scary movie or whatever and it was absolutely terrifying, to the point where for years you'd remember this horrifying thing that scared the hell out of you as a kid and how awful it was, then years later when you're a bit older you see it again and all you can think is "No this can't be it, how was I scared of this?"
Something that could scare a child, but any adult would look at and probably laugh
Warhammer fans as kids feared return the slab; warhammer fans as adults fear a job application
