Gods in fantasy died but WP could still do act of faith, I'd guess the same there
Technically she is still there as a being of some sort of energy that she still gives to her followers
But the answer is a very boring we don’t know, probably would go away
Maybe they than just drop very little of their power to mortal
There’s not much for precedent in 40k
and like it stays with them for the rest of their life?
I won't erase their mutations at the very least
Like we don`t really have full description or understanding about how this stuff works
Indeed
So mostly common knowledge and our theories
It's not like it's the fire of Zuvassin
I will
Zufassin is that you ?
Not that weird, it's a good question tbh
Yeah, it`s good, but like GW have not provided enough lore
Because, yeah, how do you kill beings of raw warp matter?
It`s not like they have physical manifestations
yeah, just like sharding them
to reduce their power
I think doing what they did in fantasy is the most they could do
Like the god is still alive, but very weakened
You don't think he would fall to Tzeentch
Do you think Hank Hill could be convinced to upgrade to prometheum and prometheum accessories?
Well, there is the Inquisitor Martyr storyline and the alpha pariah, who could utterly destroy demons rather than them just returning to the warp. I think if the story were to be continued, her challenging the chaos gods would be the final showdown.
Inquisitor Martyr is basically fanfiction so
I would bet your ten whole bucks that the Alpha Pariah will never be referenced again in lore
Aye, and no writer would let that happen.
Looking at the Sororitas dlc for it you wouldn’t even think it was an official product
Fatshark: "GW has to approve of every pixel that goes into our game"
Inquisitor Martyr: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HOLD MY BEE R
Inquisitor is pretty funny
The Alpha Pariah existing
Bile just showing up with his cane
I feel like if you described the Sororitas for 30 seconds to an artist who’d never even heard of 40K, they’d give you a better depiction than Inquisitor did
How are they depicted lol
Like the person making them was worried about being sued for copyright infringement
Yeah its fucking goofy af lmao
I guess its because Darktide is just a much more bigger scope title.
mfers nitpick shit like shirtless cosmetics while Martyr basically gives your inquisitor every mary sue-tier arsenal choice in the book 💀
Well, it could be explained by stuff like it`s Inquisitor he has to have mary sue-tier arsenal
I do think that the shirtless is us not understanding thing correctly
Because for some reason Inquisitor is guy with high caulity gear and not so much brains in most cases
No literally GW said no
the devs said before they approve of everything in this game
which is pretty nuts
LMAO
WHAT THE FUCK
Yes, but with a a slight correction. Ogryn has sets that are basically shirtless, but the other archetypes didn't make as much sense to be shirtless

Most straight chud
Find your own gun and join
Tbf I think that started after. Like with Fatshark they seem to want these games to actually be canon to the universe.
Games like Martyr and Boltgun are uh
Bit less so
For awhile they did not care at all who made games with their IP and then pulled the leash on it and got much more picky
I think it's less about FS or not but rather some game being though of as being near canon, like in fantasy has Chaosbane which is not really canon or anything and on the other side you have VT which is inside of the canon
How likely is it for a warband of speed freek orks to beat a decent sized group of grey knights with several dreadknights?
How big is the warband of SF Orks
it is unlikely they would be fighting in the first place
no?
what are grey knights squaring up against orks for
Depend if the Orks got the drop on the GK
They’ve fought Orks in the past
I mean, orks could be looting somewhere that has a valuable relic or something
or maybe they even seeked them out since they grey knights are pretty fighty
grey knights might have just fought some daemons or something and orks smelled blood in the water
Basically GK only get deployed when called upon or when they spot something sussy on their prognosticariumwhateveritsname is.
They are still very formidable but they are mainly made to fight daemons.
Can give an idea in a bit
The Achilles crusade or whatever it was
Maybe these orks were going to cause something sussy
uncover something forbidden or whatnot
Only reasonable explanation is the orks showing up during a daemonic incursion.
Basically I just did a game against grey knights with orks and we were trying to figure out why in lore they would be fighting
But yeah it’s a bit convoluted to why they’d be fighting xenos and typically it involves other threats showing up too
AHHH
and if so, who would win
Also this
like you can 100% come up with some reasonable excuse
you just gotta think lmao
I mean, either way itsgonna be a good fight!
The Achilles crusade is the main one, GKs deploy on a crusade, mostly for daemons, but will assist with other stuff depending
^
if i had to make an excuse on the spot personally uh
GK are going in to retrieve and destroy some daemonic relic on some world, faulty intel doesnt tell them a band of orks were present there
boom lol
"they're just fighting shut up"
Achilus that was it
Depend on who the writer want to win, and on what the forces at place are
Lets assume impartial
I'll send screenshots of what was going on in a bit
but lets assume its a writer that likes both sides so shows a fair amount for both
They need to pick eho wins regardless of hoe impartial they Re
true but it wouldnt be a total one sided rout
I would bet on the GK
Like 5 Dreadwing is a lot
my losses
Essentially I took out the majority of the dreads and just had a ton of the map due to mobility
he conceded round 3 bc I had 48 points and he had 20
GK in lore are much strong than they are in the TT afaik
so I guess GK just pulled out with their teleporting shit after getting krumped
Yeah thats true
they just got buffed though
But I had some pretty good anti vehicle and enough stuff to just swarm
I haven't played the regular TT in years
I'm sure orks win against them every once in a while
Oh for sure
Gork and Mork was with me boyz
It doesn’t come up a bunch
I would probably write out that at least 1 or 2 of the Dreadwing being looted, 1 maybe being towed during the combat by the Orks
Pretty sure GK are in a better place than they were in 9th
The Abhor the witch secondary made GK and Thousand Sons kinda unplayable for most of 9th
Just tons of vp for every unit lost since everyone is a psyker
can you even atke that many suits?
Does the astra militarum recognize and reward actually skilled soldiers. Or is it more just nepotism and who you know that dictates how high you will go in your (probably short) career
They teleport all around the board
EVERY SINGLE TURN
i mean in a list
EVEN WHEN IT`S YOURS TURN
isnt the max 3?
It`s meant to be for most units
I don`t think suits have keywords core
Varies
But generally once you get high enough results matter more than anything
Who daddy is or how wealthy you are can only go so far
Politicking and actual results are what carries the day
unless two of those are grand masters in dread knights you can only run a max of 3 regular dread knights
There’s a lot of stories of some no name colonel or whatever rising to a super high rank because he was lucky enough to get a key victory
Yeah but some are "grand master in dreadknight"
so it skirts around the rule
Or if you are not lucky enough WELCOME TO THE PENAL BATTALION
where your background matters more than your actual military skill most of the time
thats what i was asking lol
YOU ARE HERE TO COMMAND THIS PRISONERS
AND SHOW THEM THE LIGHT OF THE EMPEROR
well said

Fortunately my boyz were fast enuff to catch up to dem flashy beakie spark 'eaded gitz
And then you die in combat or get stabbed to death by your own soliders-prisoners
or fragged by them
because you wouldn`t let them have too much chems
Penal Legions can be funny and I suppose that every IG Regiment should have at least Penal Battalion attached
Because Prisoners could be used in such roles as Fortification Works, Demining, Recon VIA Combat
And other funny stuff
earn redemption in the eyes of the emperor
By Hard Work, put in your sweat, tears and blood in this GODDAMN TRENCH LINE
We are not doing Great
It`s just our strike teams being the exceptions
We got that main character energy
Because if we look at lore side without any gameplay, we are F*CKED Hard
Square up mortarian
Like 21st holding his positions without ability to advance inside heretics territory and Moebian 6th launching occasional raid to keep 21st and other units on their toes
But anyways any books about the subject?
There was some series about Penal Legion
I know gaunts ghosts involves guards but I think it’s another view
They look like they are having a good time
Lol I gotta friend who goes by grease monkey
I still have Colonel Schaffer!
Old 40k and Fatnasy minis are so meme
"Warrior Woman"
I love how shes dressed like a prostitude while everyone has some resemblance of military clothes

I would've preferred if they put ox in a thong tbh
LMAO
whoever wrote these books has watched ocean's eleven one too many times
its a trope thats existed way before that
like all the way back with stuff like the 7 Samurai and so on
If they have an actual new engine
then sure
but if its made on the existing engine that shits gona be uplayable imo
Like I've seen people cite the new engine in the works thing
with 0 evidence
the thing is they have 100% considered a TW40K
but like, as everyone said its WONKY
Oh they literally just had a fucking survey about it lol
and whatever form TW40k takes
its gona be weird lol
Line combat is like not a thing for some factions
they have definitely realised historical titles dont make money
the way it is in fantasy
warhammer does lol
mfw I'll never get a Total War Shogun 3
or Medival 3

it would be hilarious
also like
End Times is instead maybe the 13th Crusade
REINFORCE THAT CADIAN GATE WITH YOUR SHIT ECONOMY
They might just pick a specific star system
For it to take place in
Actually
Vigilus is nearly perfect
i can see it now. Gilliman rolling up with the doomstack of 19 imperial knights
Lmfao
also like
you looking at some random imperial world's diplomacy and they are doing alliances with orks and chaos for money
Another voice over. Let me know how this one is!
With odd system from Total War
There can be stuff where The Empire aligns with Chaos because of shenanigans from one of the sides
By that I mean breaking pacts with your vassals
And thus giving yourself +reputation to everyone who hates you
And just like that you can conquer all the map without conquering it by armies
Imperial guard in TW40k are gona be like skaven
People are gona spam skaven slaves conscripts
yes
and every infantry unit in the faction will be able to make trench lines so every battle can end up looking like the western front in ww1
me in TWWH3 as the daemon prince and getting a trade offer from the empire kek
Still one of the greatest pictures I have ever taken
would have been even funnier if you had done it on Skarsnik
wait wrong dwarf
That's Iron brow you overgrown Rathalos
yes i noticed
If anything you are still quite correct because skarsnik has quite the long list of problems in the book of grudges
But Grimgor ain't no slouch in the grudges either
This guy went to dwarf holds and slaughtered them for fun
wherent he and the other black orcs made by the chaos dwarves?
Yes
Apparently old tales speak of the chaos dwarves wanting better soldiers
And so they decided to make a strain of orc that is smarter but also stronger
But i'm sure you can guess where that part went
A smarter and stronger breed of orcs, what could possibly go wrong with that
iirc a big ass rebellion that almost destroyed the chaos dwarves, if the hobgoblins hadnt betrayed the rebels
Yes but after that rebellion rebellion the orcs decided to just leave
And of course after that
Orcs picked up the idea of metal working
And became a lot more dangerous plus you add the black orcs which is now just around the wild
A lot rarer but a lot more dangerous
How did you manage this
As Nakai playing into almost every one of the dwarves' likes, they still kept ending non-aggression pacts even though I was strength 1 (by very far) and they were practically scraping by in the gutter
Thorek iron brow has a very very specific trait you see
He doesn't trust other dwarf leaders
This was on two
And i killed every single dwarf leader of the mountains basically
Oh 💀
Yeah Thorek is odd
I thought every dwarf faction was at least neutral with each other
Yeah I had most other dwarves allied, though just barely as well
Stubborn bastards
I did this on warhammer 2 but i don't know his traits on warhammer three
Considering that you don't basically have a reason to go down where he is located
It's very very specific that you can be friendly with him
they do but iirc Thorek starts with a dislike for them that makes it easier for him to turn against them
yep, and one of the tomb kings, Arkhan, doesn't like the other tomb kings
yup
the two of them don't like their own factions pretty much basically
That’s because he’s a nagash simp tbf
yeah it's lore accurate and Thorek is a Dwarf boomer that doesn't like the new ways
So he hates the other dwarfs because they do the new ways
yup
Rogue Trader really just be hiding the "kill god" abilities below all the recommended ones
yeah the game is chunky and hides a lot of stuff in its UI
in short
its a pure Owlcat title lol
Yeah the best skills being hidden under there is one of the gripes I have that in the game
i was way too deep into my first playthrough when i realized that you can give psykers more zappy powers
My first time leveling up I was like "These are what you recommend? A couple are okay ig but are these boring ass options the best you got? ...WOOOAAHHH"
yeah the incredibly unique stuff being under the boring recommended is one of the more annoying things to see
The ability that makes charge not spend/end movement not being recommended for warriors is probably one of the dumbest examples of this, alongside almost literally navigator power
Get the one ability where someone getting an extra turn gives MP for Cassia, thank me later, ESPECIALLY if your player character is also an officer
Lets her get cracked lidless stares like nothing else
And also Mind Over Matter
Pasqual using intelligence to turn his melta and plasma into the worst things you can feel getting hit by
At first it seemed like a lot of characters were mid compared to Argenta, glad I was wrong
I think Idira is... sorta mid but still decent
She's cool for her dialogue where she tweaks out tho
And pain channeling
make her a bounty hunter and increase her psy rating
She would hit pretty hard and with a bevy of other abilities would turn a good amount of enemies into psychic slushy
but yes Abe and Argenta are straight up monsters
Abe can sit in the middle of a battlefield getting pelted by missiles and he would still be just fine
Argenta can outshoot a tau gunline
Abelard's genuine reaction to a Leman Russ shell entering his skull:
Biomancy psyker furthering his tankiness makes him go even harder
I'm so glad I restarted to do a biomancy/officer
Abelard is just a mini terminator
Abelard is not even mini terminator
Dude is a whole ass primarch of unkillability
My only real issues with him are the kicks (REEEEE) and ranged enemies
Argenta just keeps shooting until everything is dead in one turn
a true bolter bitch
When the Fandom wiki entry for White Consuls does not include the only White Consul with a miniature as a "Notable White Consul" https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/White_Consuls
Poor Vitrian
I find it hilarious how different his model is to his art lol
The arms are flipped, he has a cape and kill shield
Trim less pauldron
I like to think it's a later version of him as chapter master of the consuls
No wonder because it's the fandom site, which is very lacking in many aspects
lexicanum probably has him mentioned
the book cover art is really odd tbh, He's commanded the freshly minted Ultramarine Primaris, but hsi power fist isn't the Auramite one Guilliman personally gifted him before he had a chance to lead the Primaris in battle
tbh though I assume cover art was being made while the book was being written and so alot of the character's appearance was still up in the air before being properly cemented with the mini
yeah just probably the case of the writer giving a few pointers to the artist like "he's a white consul, see the wiki page for the scheme, and he has a plasma pistol with a power fist"
"there's also ultramarines"
to be a fly on the wall at the meeting where they put him in the lower third of the art when he's a main perspective for the book
hopefully he's front and center for one of the last 2 books in the series
also a reminder that the whole Dawn of Fire series kicks off with foreshadowing of Messinius saying he was there the day the Imperium died
I like my theory more
Imo it kinda works
As one who dabbles in scene comp
The problem is the other two random dudes on top
Like why's the lady at the forefront but tiny
Why's the indistinct ultramarine the largest body
well they're not random, book 1 is Avenging Son, named for Guilliman so he should be there, and the other is (forget his name) the Primaris Marine Messinius personally takes under his wing to mold into an officer, and we get alot of Primaris lore through his perspective
Oh with that context it's more sensible
Actually I should wait since I'm having massive trouble articulating my thoughts rn lmao
lol, no worries I got you, I just assumed you weren't familiar with the book in particular
also random woman is the Ship Mistress of the Saint Aster, a ship central to the first book.... who might be having an affair with her first officer? they have a weirdly casual relationship, first name basis and such
I read it as romantic tension on the bridge
I'm familiar with the broad strokes
Unfortunately life is too hectic for proper reading
I'd place myself vaguely above your average grimdank user when it comes to lore awareness
that's already quite a gap you know
I don't care how in the deeps of the fandom someone is, you're allowed to not have read every book
and I assume outside the core pillars like Eisenhorn, Infinite and the Divine, etc. that people probably haven't read whatever I'm referencing
Anyways, don't know when it'll happen but I think GW is going to kill of the Imperium as a monolithic human faction and replace it with new sub factions, and I think the death of Big E is gonna kick it off
they're heavily hinting at it with the newest books
What with the Necron civil war, drukhari being drukhari
Chaos inevitably fighting itself
Orks being orks
Could be a nice way to kick into nice skirmish stuff
No major monoliths but a shit ton of fractured sub factions killing each other
the imperium is somehow still just being held
it is literally unsustainable with the way things are going yeah
Are psykers able to read minds?
Well we know the Indomitus Crusade was successful in securing a large swath of Imperial space, so probably enough forge and farm worlds to sustain what they can reach
yes
it varies but some can
You need to be quite particularly good with it though because well
breaking into someones mind
most can
Would a psyker be able to read a tech priest mind in order to understand the machine?
can go wrong in a lot of ways
Tech priest's way of thinking may be so altered that reading it might be like reading another language you don't understand, I feel
But I think that's plausible
I concur, also some tech priests chop out parts of their brain to reduce emotion
and psychic stuff in 40k is very emotion related
yeah those that still want to understand emotions straight up replace those parts of the brains with machinery that imitate the emotion that the brain produces
so scanning the mind of a tech priest is already quite the hassle
Most psykers glean surface emotions and mental images, though some specialize in psychic interrogation and really get in there
but also in 40k, psykers are a known factor, so some people go through conditioning to be more resistant
If they have no idea what they're doing it's a nice way to blow up the tech priest's head as well as theirs
So Psykers basicly need a key to the lock on the book, and even if they get the book open they might not be able to interpret what they are seeing?
do you have more context for the situation?
The base thought was why I have not seen any psykers in the mechanicus
And for the titens it's a psyker that pilot it to my understanding
They're part of the Imperium, all psykers are handed over to the black ships
not someone from the mechanicus
You know how we have access to so much gear, do we scavenge it from atoma?
Yes
yes
Atoma is a forge world
It makes tanks and weapons so there are plenty of tools for everyone
They added a cutscene recently for a when a character visits the armoury for the first time and we see how inquisition agents scour battlefields on Atoma for gear that can be reused
It is not
Atoma is a hive world
It's a hive world that also has Manufactoria
So atoma has had things like kreigsmen on it?
oh yeah that
A forge world is governed by the Adeptus Mechanicus, not imperial rule
Hive worlds typically have massive factories to make use of the ample supply of bodies they have
No, Titan Princeps control Titans via a neural interface device, they don't have to be a Psyker but they do need to have mental fortitude. Same thing for Imperial Knights and even Warships
In this cutscene they show us looting gear https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDNpahdp5fA&t=70s&ab_channel=MoopShark

If you inspect the skin bundles in the premium shop there's a little text blurb that explains how that outfit made its way to Atoma
no Hallowette is just good at smuggling in clothes
And for the Krieg sets it said that Grendyl has some Kriegsman in his employ
The steel legion skins are pretty much all with Morrow
she literally got her hands in Rogue trader gear
She is very good at selling **** basically
as expected of a very skilled cold trader
tbh it's just fine clothes and pirate hats, lol
I mean, she also works for a rogue trader
So lol
Yeah but she also gets her hands dirty more than that
Hallowette collects the drip from dead Warband operatives and other stuff she's acquired on the black market, as far as I understand
There's only one type of titan with a psyker princeps and those are called psi-titans, extremely rare
Her rank is Commodore which means that she's a high placed officer in the Rogue Trader's organisation
On the same note, why don't the Ogryn operatives just steel this from a enemy crusher? Is he dumb?
Probably one of that supplies the warband's essentials
They're actually piloted by blanks
Anyway that's a Chaos warhammer. Can't be using that. It's heresy
Hadron would decapitate us with a mechandendrite immediately if we showed up wielding that thing
That's a fancy word for rock on pipe
Doesn't matter. It's heresy
Damn can't joke here, literally 1984 smh
we use literal reinforced pipes
so why can't i use a rock on a stick
Literally 1984
Chaos stick
And this is emperor rock?
Yes
Organic free-range pieces of Cadia
Just as the Emperor intended
ZOG IT
Imperial Knights need a win in some books
I know 3 books with them as a big part, 2 in Dawn of Fire and they're pretty 0-2 in thos, and the third is actually a book about Assassins
It's literally just that the moment past their shields and pass their armor you can hit a lot of their parts
One well placed rocket through the knee and they would be paralyzed
also need a win in balance
Guardsmen get wins with no shield or armor
yeah but they're not giant cool things that the enemy can destroy to look cool
Give me a damn Arthurian legend style book of a Questing Freeblade
or a Knight's Tale esque story of some Peasant that hops in the Throne Mechanicum of a Knight killed before they could board to help defend a fortress
There's Kingsblade
then has to fake being some random noble they've never heard of
It's not s Freeblade buuuuut that's basically Lion's book as I understand lol
It's very good, I'm a Dark Angels First Legion simp now
I can't believe they let him get away with that fkn Gawain reference
It wasn't even dressed up or anything it was just straight up the green knight lmao
Even the DA dude it happens too is called basically Gawain!
@odd tulip explain yourself
My favorite part of the book is || Lion meeting Dante and getting very heated about someone wearing Sanguinius' death mask, and that convincing Dante that Lion is the genuine article||
From what I've read of it, my favourite is everyone saying how old he is
Does he also have a hit he owes?
||Dante|| or Lion? lmao
Latter
Tywin Lannister the DILF
The DILF
indeed
Simping for Primarchs, that’s a paddlin’
Wait no simping for a Lannister, that’s understandable
Simping for Lion El tho
Then paddlin it is
Also after reading Lion son of the forest......
........ He and Sanguinius must have been banging
lol
nice
isn't that uh
i was going to be less direct but yes
are these guys even guys?
do they have DICKS
was it incest when the olympian gods were doing it?
ah yes Say Gex
that's the standard
LMAO HANK
you know that's right
zeus when the thing has a Hole
Basically on siblings in name yeah
Well they are white people
oh yeah Dilara
battle tome are basically my go to for aos lore right
yep
funny because true
they are the codexes
Dil pickle ara
yep codexes and Battletomes are basically the best sources of lore
For a faction
yep
8th Ed rulebook is pretty good general source if memory serves
that should have been the name of my river troll hag
why didn't i think of that
I am very good at naming things
What is happening here?
Wouldn't you like to know
I already read….
Savages Savages !
Getting comms is addictive
you never took my comm 😤
Yeah sorry about that
Bad few months and figured you wasn't interested no longer
Though the good news is if I did take it it would've been sub par so you're not losing out on much lel
Do most guardsmen in the imperium resemble the Catian fatigue or is it only Cadians that use that uniform and colour scheme?
Cadians use multiple colour schemes
But the Cadian style gear is the most "common"
Extremely prevalent but hardly a rule for everyone
So you probably have thousands of regiments that look 1 to 1 to cadians but have nothing to do with them right? Besides logos and numbers.
More or less
There's a line from the speaker-announcements around the Chasm Terminus station about how the Moebian 6th have returned and you should tune in tonight to hear stories about how the brave Commissar Darius has lead them in another successful battle or how one sergeant in the 6th lost his arm in a heroic action and now has a bionic one that can break ferrocrete
I guess the propaganda lady didn't realise what was happening before they put this radio message on the air 💀
Cut arm off
Replace with ferrocrete proof arm

And than: TURN TO HERETIC FM

you joke but theres actually a Heretic FM in one level
lemme go record some lines
Nah, I am fully serious
Reading a 40k lore argument on youtube and mf made the craziest claim that the inquistion would never use random people as cannon fodder that's simply crazy 😭
Your first mistake was looking at 40k comment sections on Youtube why would you do this 😭
Insane laughter
I don't know but it feels like darktide has inspired a bunch of surface level 40k fans to try to argue lore
and its driving me up the wall
Yeah welcome to the boat 💀
like people who read reddit stories about orks summoning things by thinking about it and they argue it
YEP
You should see when people post darktide stuff in r40klore
literally nobody there knows the lore of the game and its just
"Haha you 4 are just hobos that would instantly die"

So much for becoming an elite kill-team i guess
40klore heads after they realize a game in which you instantly die of super-cancer wouldn't be fun
💀
i think a lot of people also don't realize that the first handful of missions have our rejects risking life and limb for the tiniest of things, like AMMO for more important operatives
Is transhuman dread a real thing in cannon? Do people really see space marines and be like: "Oh no! I'm crying and shitting and cumming! ✊😭"
Tbf that’s every fandom, the loudest people talking about lore online usually know the least about it
If you want to see true brain rot go to a server/subreddit for Game of Thrones or HotD
Its basically just combat shock from seeing Marines fight yeah
but its overglorified af lol
Is it applied to all of them or is it just like for the booty rippers chapter or something?
The standard person might not know the difference between chapters
it's not the same level on all of them but it's there
^
It applies to most cases of people seeing marines and other enhanced or much faster things for the first time
How fast they move for their size is generally a big part of it
Idk if you’ve ever had a nightmare about like, a giant looking down on you or anything or through a window
I used to have a reoccurring one like that
But it’s that, you’re being noticed by something way beyond you in capabilities
And you do not want to be noticed by them
It’s disturbing
I usually hate space marine lore but that's actually really cool
They are poopy but got their moments
The novelty probably wears off with experience
eldritch horror is boring

Overdramatized "thats a nice cock" moment
But if you're just Jimmy from Quintus Sextus and you see someone almost twice your size who you've venerated all your life you're going to feel something
This sounds like an innuendo actually
I've already complained about this here but the fact that space marines can eat flesh and gain memories of the thing they ate is the dumbest UNIVERSAL ability possible
I would say that Eldar also have similar effects on human
They're uncanny/offputting
Real "humanoid not human" type deal
What if a space marine chapter had a genetic flaw where their acid spit came out of their pp instead
goodbye white scars hello acid pissers
Purged, directly purged
soul drinkers are supposed to have a larger gland that does that and in the first omnibus they only do it once
What if my foot went at the speed of sound up your ass so hard you could never speak again.
Yeah I'm fine if its like a chapter's niche or something, but the idea that EVERY marine can do it is not something that's interesting to me
it's such a niche ability
Space Marines, sounds more like Flood from Halo
i forget you're a moderator sometimes

You should see her [REDACTED] feed
So now we are talking in [REDACTED]?
Acid pp
Soul Drinkers are Imperial Fists successors
That doesn’t even make sense

Me @ 40k lore

I have seen things
Dilara scares me
A-
They thought they were but the Omnibus reveals that they aren’t actually Imperial Fist successors, their gene seed is unknown and they can’t identify its origin
I don’t recall that but it’s been forever since I read those books
They’re bizarre
Idk why the fuck they have like seven books
It’s by far one of the weirdest series in BL
The old 40k feel. I love it but it’s so weird.
Its why I like mid 2000's 40k
everyone gets bizarre stuff to read up on
nowadays its uhhhhh idk
Yea the big theory is that they’re made up of Marines from one of the lost legions that was absorbed into the Imperial Fists and then split off during the foundings
Nuh uh
I mean it makes sense (as much as anything in 40K does), they have a unique mutation and it’s been suggested that the survivors of the lost legions were added to the Ultramarines and Fists.
They are alpha legion successors
I think it’s a huge leap that they’re from a lost legion based off their lineage being unsure
As much as I hate “they’re traitor legion” stuff that seems much more likely
The betchers gland is just a mutation which tons of chapters get sometimes
I think it's more likely to have a known origin chapter to be in fact from the unknown chapter rather than the other way around. Like Ultramarine chapter, but it's lost primarch
so are traitor/heretic commissars a thing?
Yes
thought so
There is also a model I can't find that is a Commissar with his coat sewn into his flesh
This, but I think it's a kitbash ?
Found
what is this anime shit
I now realise that the traitor commissar page had a link toward him
I quite like his mask, but I really would love an open jacket cosmetic
That’s basically what the Soul Drinkers were, they thought they were Imperial Fists, all their records and history told them they were and they had relics supposedly given to them by Dorn himself, then they learn their geneseed doesn’t match the Fists and can’t be identified at all.
My man looks like hes on the hunt for the one piece
Fair
I forgot what space marine chapter that was baiscally a toy for the inquisition besides deathwatch and grey knights
Storm something?
Minautor ?
Sped
Mfers are such Inquisimps they literally got their logo as their Chapter sigil 💀
Fr lmao
‘Rumored’
I think they might be my favorite chapter actually, I’ll think about them for a while and if I still like them tomorrow I’ll be impressed
Also they will probably hate the space wolves
Good
ty for adding "Inquisimps" to my vocabulary
ok. where the fuck does GW come up with some of the character names?
like the lord inquisitor's name in months of shame, how the hell do you say it
Everything is likely just stolen from somewhere
Or is just some edgy sound
That vaguely resembles a name
Or my favorite blood/wolf <insert name>

The Months of Shame is a term to refer to the immediate aftermath of the First War for Armageddon. Beginning as a purge by the Ordo Malleus against survivors of the conflict for fea...
so how can an inquisitor not be part of one of the ordos?
Not clear but he just didn’t associate
You are never forced to be a part of any Ordo
Kept to himself and didn’t make a name
you just join up with one because it makes sense
He probably was part of one at some point
Just covered his tracks and identity or whatever
Its also mostly because your Inquisitor mentor before you become an Inquisitor yourself tends to be a part of an Ordo.
yeah
So its expected of you to serve that same Ordo in return when you come of age/position.
but again its not a must
so they can leave when ever they want. makes sense
helps that other Ordos can also deal with the areas of opposing offices too.
Like Eisenhorn is Xenos yet all he fucking does is deal with chaos lol
We're hereticus but dealing with explicitly malleus territory shit
^
There’s multiple cases of Inquisitors we directly know moving to a different Ordo than their mentor was
And yeah it’s not really one thing
one lore video said the ordo just means what is most likely to draw the inquisitor in. an ordo xeno inquisitor is more likely to investigate an eldar raid than they are a heretic cult but they will investigate the heretic cult if they think they need to
The main three Ordos almost all inquisitors will be apart of
But there’s smaller ones you can always join and leave
It can be one dude or thousands
Some get hyper specific
Basically yeah.
An Inquisitor is still an Inquisitor
you might not be an expert in this subject but you can try your best lol
Dont hang me, is Leman Russ alive?
yes
As far as we’re aware yes
he'll prob return soon because money
Magnus mentions him in a book made while back
That’s all we know
We don’t know where he is or what he’s doing and when he might come back
Unless stated as such every Primarch is bankable alive
I wonder how they'll have Ferrus return
There’s already a couple easy ways tbh
But I don’t think he will
I seriously doubt Sanguinius is gonna come back really, maybe some kinda spirit or whatever but I don’t think they will
Horus and Curze are almost certainly never gonna either
I think Sanguinius will "return" as an Ascended Sanguinor/Dante
There's no stakes in this setting.
Ferrus they could maybe do some revenant angle
I mean there is until they decide there isn’t, but currently there is
Nothing is ever solid in any setting
Everyone whose come back so far has had a very clear way to
cant wait for Ferrus to come back somehow
Only thing I’d ever want is a Revenant or LotD kinda thing
I don’t want him or Sanguinius to ever actually be back
LotD ?
Legion of the Damned
oh
demon space marines that look like ghost rider
They’re just gona do sanguinor 2
Instead of sanguinus coming back tbh
That’s what I think
Super charged Sanguinor
I think Curze coming back as some sort of bogeyman that possess people who wear his crown would be sorta cool
I seriously doubt it
He wouldn’t ever want to come back and it just doesn’t work for him
nah the Sanquinor and that one librarian dude is gona do a fusion dance and become Sanquinius
Ferrus coming back from the dead to talk with Sanguinius was hilarious tho
one of the funniest parts of the book
Abnett thinking hes writing some Shakespearean tragedy 💀
The main reason I’d actually want Revenant Ferrus or Supercharged Sanguinor is so the Imperium can have big heavy hitters who can “die”
Not all of us hate fun
It was bad.
So basically Daemon Princes
Yeah basically
arent living saints basically that?
how many are there?
Undefined
ofc
Celestine is the main one
They don’t show up much though
Kharn was on a mission to kill a bunch for awhile
When and how they come back is inconsistent
I think Celestine is the only one we know of that can come back to life regularly
I want a Saint Sabbath model
Of course she has a very…grim way of coming back after being killed every time
Its not that grim
didnt that one dude become one? the lord solar that was basically just Alexander the great in 40k
just usual boring shit
No he just died
ok
he became a saint in name
Climbing a mountain of your own corpses must still be somewhat grim
not a Living Saint
its more that its a trope ive seen too many times
loses its grandeur
Ngl I could not stand climbing a mountain of dead me’s lol
Living saint =/= Imperial Saint
at least i would have a lot of handholds kekw
Lol
They'd be tormenting you about all the minis you buy 💀
Macharius also did 1v1 some daemon princes so he definitely had that dog in him
that cyber-hound in em
If they were my bones I think I’d have an easier time climbing lol
Lord Solar Macharius, the only Imperial I would have followed (Except Saint Sabbath)
a mountain of my fat ass would be one hell of an ugly sight ngl
They show up in some books
They’re not common though
And some are much more mundane
Like one was apparently a guardsmen who kept just coming back from the dead to secure key moments in a battle
as i said he was just Alexander the great in 40k
Alexander the Space
yup
Isn't that Ollianus ?
An inquisitor usually changes Ordo depending on the situation but some just have preferences
Why didn’t it replay?
They tend to stick with their main of the big three
But they will shift between smaller ordos
The one dude who wasn’t part of any was notable because of that, he’s a big exception
changing ordos is one thing. full on not belonging to any of them is another tbf
It’s a terrible idea for most people
Basically its like starting a political party of your own
instead of joining a prexisting bigger one
aka literally nobody is gonna help or care about you
lol
Well he’s a mystery
Ordo aren't gonna put every Inquisitor under scrutinity, as long as you do your job and don't make to much waves it will be fine
Likely he used to be part of one and has friends in high places
He just managed to erase his tracks
yeah
Basically plot.
i think it was just the author being stupid
if you make him Malleus or Hereticus nothing changes
he was able to order other inquisitors around....
which even for a lord inquisitor is a stretch afaik
With Lord it fits
those dudes got big influence
its why they are so rare in comparison to your run of the mill Inquisitors that are juts everywhere
Inquisitors are measured by clout baiscally
Technically any inquisitor can argue with any other
But most will side with the biggest boof inquisitor
^
your Inquisitorial influence literally depends on
how many goons do you have
how many big pew-pew devices
literally mafia city
lol
and in months of shame the dude literally just rolls up with 30 full fledged inquisitors in his retinue
and like. why where the grey knights at Armageddon if the inquisition wasnt already involved?
so they do act autonomously
which i guess makes the whole "keep them secret" thing kinda hard
yup
if you kill all witnesses it becomes easy
Man was a high lord
ofc the grey knights where there before he got involved
They tried that, the space wolves didnt like that approach.
and i guess just fell in line with him
"Why dont we go kill a bunch of guardsmen who werent corrupted while fighting a demon prince"
Dumbass
Inquisitor Ghesmei Kysnaros, the very name makes my blood boil for what he did
Unironically was a chaos cultist
Cant convince me otherwise
it makes mine boil for just existing, wtf dumpster fire did they pull that name from?
seeing a demon can cause some heretical thoughts
Going back on the No Ordo Inquisitor, seeing as they are a more flexible organisation, I wouldn't be suprised if they have some strange rules to separate an Inquisitor from the Ordo for special offices and objectives
They merced demons though
sure the grey knights
Nah the guard in the first war for armeggedan
yeah
well they still should die i guess
Like their logic was basically the same as going "lets kill off the cadians"
No the dude was a dumbass and probably a chaos cultist
who?
the dude took "better safe than sorry" way to far and way to literally
Inquisitor who wanted to kill em
He decided killing the guard was worth going to war with the space wolves
He was right
The funniest part is he was right
Kysnaros
an inquisitor destroyed whole worlds to stop tyrannids
the people the Wolves rescued did end up being corrupted lol
They caused a bunch of chaos incursions on other worlds
He was also just a dick
Kryptman is a gigachad like that
he was trying to get that killstreak
killing a bunch of guardsmen is costly but way better than having entire worlds fall to chaos if one escapes. it is what it is in 40k
They were cursed by the tzeentchian sorcerer that was Kysnaros
Cursed by his dumbass name more like 💀
Yup
Kryptman ended up being excommunicated and literally nothing happened due to it. he just went lmao and left
Well he got protected by the Deathwatch who agreed with his method even if they didn’t like it
some kind of fuckery did thats for sure
His excommunication was basically political
Someone has to take the fall even if it did work
Must have been those marines malevolent Ive heard so mutch abput
and every bit as toothless as you expect
Kryptman to put it bluntly got removed by the admins
i bet black templars thought kryptman didn't go hard enough
a timeout wasnt enough
Black templars dissaprove
It’s just the Deathwatch
not all black space marines are the same
Yeah was making a funny suggesting they were brothers from the marines malevolent
Not gonna touch that one
i mean. those idiots kill people for heterochromia. enough said
Well make better jokes then

And do you know the original chapters of those deathwatch?
yeah
They could be marines malevolent, mortifactors
even lamenters?
Among em
Indiscriminate or we can't join the fun ?
When they’re deathwatch they’re deathwatch
even lost chapters?
literally any chapter can be part of the deathwatch afaik
Ok thats fair
Even your mom
even ultramarines?
Watch Masters often will completely forgo their chapter even
yeah iirc they call it the long vigil
Since they’re now the Watch through and through
All chapters do but yeah
Every single loyalist chapter can send marines and does
Wolves screaming furrily about having to leave.
Even some renegades do
The only chapter I would wager aren't in the Deathwatch are the Minautor, the Exorcist (Though I doubt they really can avoid it) and GK
Generally as Blackshields
Black dragons maybe
Might not
can custodes join deathwatch
a deathwatch squad is quite the mixed bag most times
Not SM so no
is alpharius in death watch
Custodes are not space marines
please
Is the Death Watch in Alpharius
But I’ll take credit
Because I want the people to know it was me
I could have gotten off
if an alpha legion marine infiltrates them sure kekw
But I’ll take the fall for no reason other than I want the people to know it was me
But yes they have had Alpha Legion infiltrators
Black shields!
Imagine a fire hawk with flaming head in the deathwatch
Random 15 foot tall red dude
Marines from destroyed, disgraced or renegade chapters can try to join as Blackshields
Yeah
Fallen in the past and probably still do so
good fucking lord 15 foot?
Magnus wants some friends
He thinks they might not notice
was he really that big?
Hes a demon prince now
They have to go under extreme interrogation and they confess whatever they feel they need t, to the Watch Chaplain and Watchmaster
They got bigger
ofc
Random black legionaire vibing in the deathwatch
wait how tall was Russ?
He was one of the shortest primarchs
Les than vulkan who I think was 12 feet
Probably 11ish feet
