I mean i would be panicking too if the giant green mountain of muscles decided to shoot a green midget at me and that green midget got so brain damaged in his journey in another dimension that he would tear apart anything in front of him
mainly because of caliber I think
cause like yeah
and Grot's aren't that strong physically
Hand Cannons
The guns they are using our basically the ones humans uses to
like more then what it looks like
A normal auto gun is not S4
Also, almost everything is smooth bore
Yeah they trade off reliability for overwhelming power
S3, 24', 1 Attack
Straight up LASGUN
But like at higher levels some of the more fancy tech is more reliable than the imperium
There is no difference
Damn that is actually kind of funny
Ork tellyporta tech being the like
second/best warp based teleportation tech
is hilarious
Teleports a giant war machine on top of your fortress
They can literally just teleport their titans on the field which is
teleporting bomb squigs onto your ship
Like the best way of deploying a titan
and redeploying in case of need
They could literally just be an orbit and just pick out a random place in the planet to plop that down
like Imperial Fleet showed up in high?
TELEPORTS OUT
TELEPORTS INSIDE IMPERIAL FLEET FLAGSHIP
Best teleportation tech in the setting is Necron tech
but they're cheating
they don't dive through hell smh
A group of flash gitz open firing would tear through an imperial knight within seconds
Yeah Orks are one of the things that you just don't want to fight in this setting if given the chance
sometimes I wonder why do even care to have Knights and Titans
it could be said about anything in this setting
even humans who will swarm you and poke you with bayonets to death
I mean yeah that is true but this is isn't really called diplomacy 40k
indeed
Rather than more "exotic" battlefields against xenos or demons most fights should be humans against each other
Same is true for orks vs orks
If unlucky, you get gsc or chaos cults, super unlucky eldar raids, other factions you are shit out of luck
I wonder how Chaos still has some forces to fight loyalist while they straight up wage World War inside Eye of Terror
My headcannon goes like: a noble gets to find Celestine fanfics and fall to slaanesh, starts hosting parties which they start summoning daemons and spiral out like that
Most of the time the cults in the realspace does their best with little help from warp
Little goes a long way with all your cultists having better reflexes than everyone on the planet
They have the size to accomodate the small fights in real space
indeed
Also time is meaningless in the Warp, so multiple copies of the same person/forces could exist at any given time…
Yeah but that isnt the case almost ever
the only time that trope has been used is in the Siege of Terra and thats just literally people being respawned to fight the loyalists
and an ork doing the time travel funny
And the TSon Dusty
in that case they are basically piles of dust tbh
and its less resurrection and more uh
"lemme re-gather your entire being and stuff you into another suit"
Fnaf Moment

That's what she said
_ an incredibly ballsy DND Bard after trying to court the witch
if i had a nickel for every time that happens in elden ring, i'd have 2 nickels. which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happens twice
there arent enough ork characters
need more orks and less space marines
preferably orks that can also turn into bears
It's the same case with fantasy we have a few characters but they are pretty good
I mean no surprise there but like come on 40K orks are pretty good too
the fantasy orks have some decent variation among then, sure theres some same-ey ones
although i guess fantasy has a greater emphasis on gobbos too
yeah like the only thing that will come close to Skarsnik is currently the red gobbo
and that's it
well skarsnik, grimgor and grom couldnt be more different as greenskins
even azhag gets the crown even though hes a good ol warboss
atleast aos gobbos are having fun
Funny you say that because they have something called Shroomancer
ive never seen that
Shroomancers experience such vivid fungus-brew hallucinations that their magics spill out to animate the fungi around them and bring their visions to life. Thus they are surrounded at all times by comically animated swarms of ambulant fungi. They ride upon spore-belching bloatstools, which can release clouds of magical spores that engulf the enemy when stamped upon by the Shroomancer. They are surrounded at all times by flapping, bouncing and often gleefully burbling swarms of ambulant fungi. [5][7]
is that aos?
yes
ah
imagine being so high your main source of drugs becomes your own familiar
aos did a good job with ork designs tbh
they threw in a lot of that 40k yellow too
yeah AOS goblins are with the trolls and they can even field the true troll king
trolls, always fighting for another faction
Can't that Troll even field 100% troll armies ?
hopefully this one gets piss all over archaon this time
Don't remember what happen to Throt, did he die to Gotrek or something ?
I dont remember either, dunno what happened to malus either, and malus was one of my fav characters
the writers admitted they straight up forgot about skarsnik
Trolls supported with goblins
I think Ghoritch turned him into a bloody paste
someone did tell me malus gets taken over by tzarkan and just dies
Malus Darkblade: killed by t'zarkan when he finally took power, but t'zarkan was than killed by tyrion using widowmaker
Throt the Unclean: allied with chaos and served as master mutator for a nurgle lord.
skarsnik: last seen in the battle that killed belegar, games workshop never spoke of him again even though he was the incarnation of gork or mork

throgg: killed by nagash after refusing to serve
et was a mess yeah
Sniktch: killed by oxyotl while trying to kill mazdamundi
Nice, Dwarf 🤝 Lizardmen
sniktch getting headshotted with a blowdart is pretty on point
Fking deserved
To be fair both of them have less personality than a rock in the sidewalk so that is definitely true
Lord Kroak
Kroq gar is at the bottom with Gor rok
Not surprising coming from a Greenskin
gor rok is an actual rock
Saurus are literally meant to be warriors and cold blooded killing machines
Nakai is also out
Bok bok
He is a kroxigor
oh i know who does
That's all i have to say really
HOW ABOUT I'Z FEED YA TO GROM YA 'SPIKY RUNT
Yeah it's really hard to find the personality for a race made literally to be cold blooded killers and servants
You would probably find more personality in the middle of a sidewalk from a random homeless guy
Also the fact that they aren't often shown as the point of view,
I mean i guess it's the fact that how do you make something that is so alien and it's way of thinking seem human in its way of talking
The lizard man exclusively speak in their own language too
Not much i think
Because they are so isolationist they would give the woodelves a run for their money
wood elves are probably seething with jealousy at that forest
giant dinosaurs defend it way better than treemen, who knew
They don't get out much. But there various Temple cities everywhere. Like in the Chaos Waste or on Albion
My guy Lustrian wildlife is absolutely fucked
The people willingly going there are absolutely brave and stupid
well theres a lotta treasure in lustria
Yeah but is it really worth it to go to a continent where the indominus rex looks like a baby compared to the wildlife
it is if you're a druchii
I guess the beastmaster needs his beasts
mmm druchii probably cant wait to get pincushioned by a maneating plant
Chaos Warrior vs Lizardmen tide/pay day
apparently the high elves have the best navy in fantasy
but how do they fight black arks
Dragon ship
Dragonship is just a regular big ship though
black arks are actual floating citadels
Forged in ancient days, long before the Sundering, Dragonblades are forged from truesilver, an adamant and steel alloy. Heated in the breath of the great Dragons, moulded by the mightiest spells of high mages, it may be the hardest substance in the world. They are adorned with potent runes inlaid from the elder days, and most men can be driven insane merely by looking at them.
Each of the twin prows of the Dragonship is set with a Dragonblade, forming a ram capable of slicing through another ship's hull like a knife through butter, shattering them completely. The Dragonship carries distance weapons as well, in the form of two Eagle Claw Bolt Throwers.
And also Merwyrm
Speaking of navy is the vampire coast any good at that department
I feel like they are getting absolutely slammed in their element here
Absolutely shit, they are for the most part just floating wrecks
also you get the impression it's a proper faction thx to total war
There aren't that many Black Arks
but in lore it very much isn't
Nah, Vampire Coast is held by them
As is the Galleon's Graveyard
Different faction but still
they exist, but ca did invent most of the army roster, and they also straight up invented cylostra
You would think sea necromancers would hit hard in the sea but that's wrong apparently
they're just too small of a thing to have big impact
Not that much iirc, though some are from old White Dwarf kitbash
yeah, they dont have the numbers, only the named legendary vampirates have solid ships and abilities
and those are very very few
and they all have their own goals and leadership
harkon is a cool individual character though
much more interesting than neferata and manny imo
only interesting pirates in fantasy are the dwarfen slayer pirates
ew dwarves
I dont think slayers would even count drowning at sea as an honorable death
Dwarf navy use steam powered ships, there is that Pirate Slayer crew, but other than that there were mentions of Kraken Slayer
Luthor harkon in total warhammer straight up modified the largest type of cannon in the empire into an artillery
Helllhammers
If you want something really really dead
Shame the empire somehow can't get that but the vampire coast can
They are just a pirate crew that formed from Slayers
but yeah regular dwarfen navy has Ironclads and these fuck hard
The big Bess ?
yeah the dwarves have steampunk ships
Yeah that unit that requires you to do a ritual to absolutely f*** the poor runt that you decided to aim it at
Incredibly fun that one
dwarfs once again being both incredibly ahead of everyone in term of tech and being even more culturally stagnant than any faction in warhammer
So you're telling me the vampire coast gets the largest cannon the empire has but the empire can't
the empire is stagnant
they cant manufacture more than the 6 tanks they have, even though they straight up have those tanks
reverse engineering isnt a thing
writing is hard
If the Empire had all the things that are mentioned in the lore, it would be a frankenstein of a monster faction
Flying Galleon, Puppet Giant, Blessed shield dropper statue, flying Magic towers...
please ca give the dwarfs flying battleships in the next dlc plzplz
I do hope they don't take Malakai as the LL
Aren't runic golems very hard to awaken
also, give them a blunderbuss unit already
it's supposedly lost knowledge to the dwarfs
they forgot
Yes
But the same apply to Living totems
grudgeraker
They still know it, it's just that it cost the life of a Runelord each time
yeah grudgerakers
also, buff gotrek and felix
If the Orks can consistently keep their magic strong enough to hold together a rogue idol then i don't see why they can't just have multiple runic golems
In total war
in the game they probably can get it as a unit
if ca decides to give them , you can justify it a number of ways, including just having a campaign about getting lost knowledge
plus you can limit it, even dread saurians are limited
as are some of the tomb kings constructs
rule of cool has priority in total war
I'm quite fond of Shard Dragon tbh
cuz who's gonna cry over old lore the setting kicked the bucket
make it as cool as possible
Enough people to make a new regiment for the imperium basically
The lore runts are quite a warhammer faction let me tell you
i want every one-off mention of anything made into a recruitable unit
Red Duke I feel like it's wasted dev time, would prefer to have Walash Harkon for the Blood Dragon LL
fuck it , just give us Abhorash himself
Abhorash but he is a LH that is available for Bretonnia or VC
wh3 wishlist in the darktide lore channel
still, top of the wishlist isn't even new content
it's fixing the damn game, creative assembly

so sad the best warhammer title is being mismanaged to hell and back
its as good as it'll get
so its not that big of a deal, CA is just awful
they have also basically doomed themselves because nobody is gonna want a proper Total War game after this

Buying our products doesn't give you the right to talk about our decisions
Damn ca got that logic in them
The sad thing is that there aren't many rts that are good for Pre-WW1 combat
for total war people are rightfully angry and then you have whatever the fuck is going on with darktide
Darktide is fine
wh3 will eventually be good, problem is ca does things at a glacial pace
lol
"dude they didn't pull a full week of all nighters during new years, what fake, greedy devs"
no i meant how people got anrgy over nothing
in dt's case
Nah like there was some rightful stuff to get angry about
BUT yeah it was extremely overblown
CA's case meanwhile is ACTIVELY insulting your fanbase and making the game just... oof
sure, but people were mostly frothing at the mouth because there was optional micros
like at launch, that was the main controversy
and you still have steam reviews on the store page complaining about that
also, they did say that all non cosmetic dlc will be free right?
and how gaming has fallen
thats pretty awesome tbh
For Darktide ?
The story probably pays for it
yeah for darktide
Because apparently DT cosmetics are pretty stupid lucrative for them
imagine ca making all non cosmetic dlc free
40k fans are nothing if not whales
The only thing that we know are maps, modes and enemies being free
Weapons at the moment have been free
branchs/archetypes it's still unknown
Winds of Magic was disasterous
When the game you want to play is made by the people you don't want to support

They've learnt their lesson with WoM
That's when they changed their dlc policy
good
Yep.
I miss the days when ca made the you get a free lc lord with the two legendary lords approach
Though tbhn their dlc policy was good before too, better after, but still was not bad
yeah
although to be fair, ca did did backpedal a lil bit and say they will add more stuff to the last wh3 dlc because it was shit, and they wont make thrones of decay as shit, its still ca , but its better than nothing
LH are good...for races that are mostly finished
Not for factions that are completely lacking in the LL department
Not LL though
Isn't their company disintegrating currently
any hope for a ca redemption arc is in the coming free content update for Shadow of change but don't get your hopes up
yeah that
Wasn't it already leaked ?
it's in a rough spot but hasn't reached that much of a breaking point yet
My hopes are already deeper than a skaven under city
winds of shortchange and thrones of delay
Don't worry
there's unconfirmed rumors by dubious sources
hopefully they actually revamp the empire in thrones of delay
since its focused on imps
only the dwarf thunderbage will save this game anyway
instead of just adding 1 lord with 4 new units
Nah norsca
They are so forgotten the dirt under my boot is more memorable
deserved
Throne of Decay won't have Norsca though
Fuck
shit stained raiders annoying ass
Nurgle, Empire and Dwarf
norsca might never get updated tbh
Unless they shaft Nurgle and put Tamourkan in Norsca
or maybe it will after many more updates
the only hope for norsca getting an update is that they eventually did make the wood elves and beastmen very good with a full rework
Norsca needs the beastmen and greenskin approach
Reworking them very very hard
man the empire in total war warhammer 3 rn is a thunderdome it's messier than lustria fr
europe is perfect the way it is (after removing hungary)
*Be a green skin player
*Build a race track in the empire
*Get minus relationship with them
*Get good buffs for the pump wagon
*Profit
'stare at the Chaos Dwarfs'
lustria and nehekara dont even seem that messy, because you can deal with the shit there since the factions arent garbage
empire units are so bad early game for dealing with the thunderdome
how tf do you expect to me to burn down drychas forest with a bunch of swordsmen and spearmen
yeah, the average t2 saurus can shitstomp p much anything up to lategame
the secret with empire is that you need to spam ranged archers that cost jackshit earlygame
Then a super rich guy would just afford a line of temple guard and you chew through your infantry faster than a squig eats through chickens
The empire late game is carried by their artillery
temple guard are objectively better of course, but they arent actually that much better than saurus with shields, and they are very overpriced
, saurus will carry you forever
Having decent units to hold the frontline while getting pelted by rockets guns and tank cannons
I was just making a point but yeah saurus shields are very good
also, unless they changed it, gor rok's saurus infantry is just way better than temple guard
My guy gets lord kroak turn one
Enough said
but gelt barely has magic
I cast foot of gork
gelt just has the best artillery buffs built into his baseline
, and he also starts with a fortress
and gelt has the best memes
i cast golden hound and searing doom in the massed infantry blob graciously provided by the AI x 100
2000+ kills
Yeah then there's ikit
#Warhammer3 #ImmortalEmpires #TheEmpire #karlfranz
Welcome to Estalia gentlemen. I will not lie, the chances of your survival are small. Some may even turn against your friends as living corpses, but you have my word that I will use my arcane gifts to ensure your bodies are given unto Morr's Garden. This is the greatest reward, more than even ...
His weapon teams absolutely turning the battlefield into a wasteland
yeah but you have to ride a pig
kinda small
look at these creatures they have no flying mounts
well they do have wyverns
Cavern Wyverns would be fun to see
the underway maps actually have some nice grimdark design aesthetically, the dawi ruin or a skaven factory underground is pretty nice to see
having a flying caster is extremely vital to perfom ultimate cheese tactics in legendary
Azhag has death magic and skull muncha
azhag is a special snowflake
You know
I wonder what happened to Broken Lance
Those wolves set power records
new dwarfen settlement maps are extremely good looking
Yeah the green skins have a flying lord can cast magic
The what now ?
That is also pretty good in melee
Warhammer+ is on the way – get ready to enjoy the immersive, action-packed worlds of Warhammer like never before. https://bit.ly/3u8u2Uh #WarhammerPlus

Were they supposed to come out in 2023 ?
Shame that even though i love him he is pretty much just the least versatile
No idea lol
We haven't heard of them since
He is absolutely good at turning things into cheese of course
hes v good at what he does though, yes
Yeah but now in warhammer 3 there are lords that can turn him into a cheesecake
skarbrand
I know you're somewhere
its especially satisfying now to play as him and barrel down a mountain straight into all the chaos dwarves, fighting to end slavery and all that as da meanest, baddest, nastiest git
skarbrand also has way more mass so he can just walk thru units and ignore them
Yeah he would spearhead your frontline directly into your legendary lord
valkia is also brutal
youd think valkia would be better at dueling, which shes pretty much the best at , but she can also just fly around and wipe out infantry very fast, she has some big animations
it's very easy to turn skarbrand or grimgor into shredded cheese by shooting them but valkia it's different
also, unlike skarbrand, its harder to gun her down because shes small
Yeah khorne lords are no doubt the strongest melee monsters and lord killers around available
anything good in melee that's about the same size has infantry is annoying as hell
like the mall ninja rat
At least you have to cycle charge the guy because he has like very little armor
Valkia
plus, valkia can also fly, so she can go wherever, you cant blob her down like sniktch
Plop her down somewhere and she will go to work
thx god the ai will just fly straight at you so at least you can shoot her when she does so
Yeah the lords going straight to you when you're playing lord killer lords is always a godsend
norsca doesnt even have ai anymore
Ehehehehe

last time I played, marauder horsemen with axes charged me from the front
with full ammo
Oh yeah this the announcement of the new ghaz model
So was having a little thought about the best loyalist counterparts to chaos traitor legions, in terms of falling to chaos. Anyone got some bright ideas as some loyalist primachs that would make good replacements as traitors.
lion?
russ
But which ones for which gods.
Only one I could easily come up with was russ for khorne.
well, ig you could do vulkan for nurgle, hes got the green and the resilience down
also, I think there was some fanfic that had sanguinius for nurgle
Tzeentch: Russ or Corax
Slaanesh: Lion or Khan
Khorne: Sanguinus or Dorn
Nurgle: Salamander or Iron Hand
Undivided: Ultramarine
He isn't using Sorcery, only good old Rune Magic
iron hands have the whole flesh is weak thing
i can see that turning into an obsession with perfection
so slaanesh
plus ferrus was a good friend of fulgrim
it should really be best potential
Well not certain, Necromunda has Imperial Fist just yoinking some Gangers to be used for SM processing
also I think the ages differ from chapter to chapter too
imperial fists running around on necromunda, avoiding all massive gang wars going around them, " Carry on, we are just looking for kids"
Still think they should make an Imperial fist Dramatis Personae or something
Have his effect be that he sometime will capture an enemy alive to be sent for the SM recruits
also
I get that gw doesnt want female space marines, but like
luther was too old to be a marine
so they just gave him bio enhancements
and called him a marine
He didn't go through the same process
There's a LOT of marines who did the same
indeed
Afaik the justification is success rate is really low with age
And ofc every revelant character succeeded
well sure, but is it in lore than human females basically cant get enhanced at all
because we have enhanced humans (but not to space marine degrees) men like luther becoming sm
When was Cavill brought up
But what does this have to do with the conversation
Who brought up retconning fem marines into 40k via the Amazon show that'll inevitably suck balls lol
some like luther became space marines as adults but it's very risky
honestly to me the whole space marine child soldiers was just a way for GW to market to teens or something
i dont see how it has any effect on lore
they get hive gangers
fists do
unless they just get 14 year old hive gangers
also, I dont remember , but I dont think lysander was a kid when he got recruited
apart from the implantation of organs , the processes are so varied , they might as well vary the ages per chapter
Ferrus and fulgrim got along because they both aspired to be perfect iirc
Late to convo
every legion picks aspirants from gangers and it's ok, unless nightlords do that. it was their downfall
it depends on the chapter basically
Wow the new Balance Dataslate for 10th lets an Archon join a squad of Incubi, who knew that an Archon should be able to join the unit which is specifically supposed to be the Archons bodyguard.
Fairly certain they just look through the underhive for well fed kids (because the only way to be well fed in the underhive is to be hard af)
I figured that getting them during puberty increases success rate
It basically doesnt matter for the most part.
the irony of it is that you don't need the best of the best for recruits, hence why their blood game-esque recruitment stuff is suppose to be stupid

Let's give them a little blood and stick them into a coffin for a year. It builds character
This but me at high school
The....what?!
I swear there's always something crazy here to see
Ultramarine highschool...you know would make for an interesting dating simulator
Game was released broken and GW have just been sitting on their hands doing nothing while Fat Shark damage the IP.
Lol
Play as a female student teacher whose main goal is to not only teach but fall for a few select ultramarine heroes routes
can I just expel them instead

Last challenge is to pay taxes
And to think that those "rituals" are nothing more than barbaric superstitions
dont let reddit hear you say that lol
So it’s implied that it doesn’t matter?
That the space marine treatments will make super soldiers out of anybody?
you can do all this survival shit and still die during the surgery process
Lmao

I’m just in awe at the major themes of the imperium being almighty and eternal, yet always crumbling and decaying
They’re so fucking stupid
I love it
Yeah its why I hate questions of like
"Why is the Administratum so incompetent?"
BRO WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK
Holy shit, just why....

“Why do they do X? Are they stupid?”
YES
YES LMAO
"Why do they servitorise these people just doing their job?"
Because life is unfair.
lol
Oh btw Dilara how was rogue trader
I get training and washing out, but these Marines are just out for blood against these recruits
Imperium is basically "people in charge are both unbelievably cruel and unbelievably stupid at the same time"
Fair enough
Yo just like real life

God forbid men have hobbies

Its pretty fun would recommend it
kinda slow but one of the best 40k games ive played i think

i literally finished it on release in 2 weeks
I was kinda obsessed
They’re not even that incompetent, people really don’t get how fucking big everything is and how well it’s running for how insane it is
It’s a miracle it does work
Like think of how often there’s minor fuck ups in our world which can be a pretty big deal
"I lived through it so will you"
Basically
It only “works” because of how many bodies they’re able to chuck into the half-literal meat grinder
Now make that a million times bigger
Despite, you know, everything being pretty much doomed to fail if one part of their massive system fails
It works because people make it work, they don’t lack competence it’s just an impossible task
They mention most high lords burn out after a couple years cause how stressful and hard it is
It’s just insanely big
They’re also very big on not changing anything at all
It's like they're training to be part of a special forces unit but 1000x harsher with little regard for safety or life
So there’s absolutely no hope for things to get better
Not surprising, have you seen State heads before and after their offices ?
What qualifies a guardsman as a cadian? Do they just have to be born on cadia or join the regiment?
Be from a planet that was colonized by Cadian regiment basically, so grew up in the culture
Are cadians the most common guardsmen or are they just the most popular one?
They’re the loudest
You also have low level administratum adepts canonically going insane from working
Yeah that’s the most sinister thing about it, almost anyone it doesn’t matter if you wanna improve stuff or not
The Grand Master of Assassins supports Guilliman because he doesn’t believe he’ll maintain his ideals
If you want a real answer, they’re just one of the more frequently mentioned regiments. Their w(hole) purpose was to defend an important piece of imperium territory
They’re also very common
They've colonized the most world
Way more than Krieg
And without cheating
Makes you wonder why it's mostly Cadians that are seen in most active conflict zones
There’s still a lot of them
Authors like to use them tbh
and survival of the fittest
But they are common
Fair enough
The regiments we know of in lore tend to be ones who export a lot of troops
Millions to billions
Cadian pattern is also damn near synonymous to standard for guardsmen
Tanith
Even if they may not be specifically Cadian, their equipment patterns are
It's not even that protective tho...
Is there lore behind the obedience helms? I want to know if they’re real or just a Darktide thing
Well it's good, but not that good
The what helms?
The zealot one that covers the eyes and has the I on it
The robocop looking one
The BDShelM?
Nah thats just a random cosmetic
Thats an enforcer thing I think
but theres a lot of random clothing in 40k artwork that has the Inquisitorial ][ on it because it looks cool
helmets included
I forget the description
Oh cool ty
The I is just for flavor yeah
The name could also suggest some kind of penitence or torture device, and zealots are fuckass mad enough to wear them willingly
I think it literally makes them blind
Maybe it’s like a helmet that just delivers drugs directly to their brain to dope them up and make them unyielding seeing the tubes it has
Which is a very Zealot thing
Definitely fits the zealot type
I wonder if the imperium has alphabet singalongs
I think “lore” it’s a resource issue? Take this with a grain of salt though but I feel like supplying the guard who is billions strong with Astartes armor would be a supply issue
So ya their kit is not much different then mine was as far as PPE goes lol
Will protect you from conventional small arms uh but that’s about it
They do have superior weapons though so there is that
Making an assumption that a lasrifle is better than your standard infantry rifles of today
lol
They already can’t supply most with carapace
Supplying billions to trillions with fucking power armor?
Hah
Ya agreed lol
There are less Sisters than IG regiment
I would be shocked if SoB are even a 1% the size of the guard
its still a fuck-ton
its very much a case of "because plot"
because 30k Imperium's industrial output literally armed entire armies with advanced armor
It would not be economically viable
Its mostly just plot tbh
at least the excuses are viable for the most part
but power-armor still gets extremely mass-produced
Mostly just the SA, who weren’t as big as the guard are now
Their numbers were still extremely high considering they were on a galactic jihad
again its just not viable when you wanna run a army as customizable as the guard so it makes sense at least
Were they the majority of the Great Crusade ? I think the Macharius Crusade was with normal Guardsmen
The SA didn’t exist after the Heresy
We don’t know their fate ultimately but it seems likely most died
Im sure the Scouring will cover that in a throwaway line
they were basically forgotten by the time of the Siege so lol
Gonna get the Skarsnik treatment
They were always the elite of the IA and they were big but they’d also be the ones who saw the worst fighting
Hopefully their whole deal will get a bit more focus with campaign books in Heresy 2.0
yeah I got a huge SA fan who was extremely annoyed at that
Are there many "named" unit that we still have no idea what it look like ? I know of an Admech walker
There's a few
generic marine characters tend to hog most of the spotlight
but thats not exactly new so lol
I was thinking more about formations and vehicles and less about named peoples
Better quality
We’ll see if he gets focus again. He’s one of my favorite FW original characters.
same with vehicles
but they got like 3 fucking minis lol
Fought as a no name soldier during reunification, rose through the ranks to become one of the highest ranking and most decorated leaders of the most elite group in the Imperial Army, retires, kids become Rogue Traders, Grand daughter is an admiral. Someone makes the mistake of killing her at Port Maw, he comes out of retirement with his old veteran SA regiment and starts taking it out on those damn fool traitors on his lawn.
And he does it in an exo suit because he’s too fucking old for this shit
If you look at the portrait he’s not so unsubtly modeled after Eastwood
So what lore weapons can we get and would you wanna see in darktide
I think chain halberds would be very interesting
A Transuranic Arquebus
Tbh there’s not a ton of limits
With what we’ve been given
And it’s a game and FS can hand wave stuff
Imagine just pulling up and deploying this bad boy during a mission
Meltas, grav guns are two id like to see
If we get an ad character there’s a lot that opens up
Isn't games workshop kinda keeping them on a short leash
They have to approve stuff yes but
There’s already a lot of hand waving
Stuff like force weapons are not common at all
Same with power weapons and stuff, being the Inquisition lets us get a little crazier
Idk if they’d let that get to grav weapons or whatever but
It might
Atm we couldn't realistically have those
Grav would be upping the rarity of what we can get
It would be a significant increase yeah
Imo it only makes sense if we get an Ad Mech dude
But I still want it
Same with maybe a Conversion Beamer
Basically absolutely everything that gets added to this game has to be approved by GW.
There’s a lot of fun stuff they could do with it
Oh yea I know it's very improbable RN, but just the idea of having a 3 minute animation of pulling it out and setting up the bipod stand everytime you switched to your ranged weapon is hilarious to me
If we don't change the rarity compared to what we currently have:
Ogryn: Heavy Bolter, Lascannon and Multilaser (Also Spudjacker)
Psyker: Biomantic Sword
Veteran: Hunting Lance/Spear
Zealot: Chain Flail
Ad Mech character definitely adds a lot of potential for some wacky stuff
We will probably get one at some point
like
Grail Knight was fucking wild when it came out, people went nuts lol
I feel like I'd just want more melee weapons
I genuinely expect something just as wacky for a new character
the only issue is the voicework stuff is just so much fucking work
that and you'd need to make them fit in with the other reject banter
A polearm would be cool yea
💀
But new branches 💀
💀
Yeah its why realistically prob never happening
would you wanna be the guy to sit down and go through like 50,000 dialogue options to make sure it all makes sense with a new character
id prob shoot myself
Zealot Enforcer and Crusader side branches
yeah I feel like
MAYBE whenever Darktide 2 comes out in 5-6 years we'll prob get actual new character classes lol

and even thats massive copium
There is no need for Darktide 2
There will be no Darktide 2

We live in a post new game era, no new games only permanently updated live service games.
DARKtide versus mode
Suicide Squad moment
love the meltdown over that rn
For real though I want new weapons sobbbb
Yes but no, I do want them to make new tide game.
Just not related to Darktide in anyway
Op special and longsword heavy parry passive good lordy
That + everyone salting/malding that it makes no sense because Markus wasn't Bretonnian lmao
Longsword and shield had an insane gapclose spamming blockattack
and that was Warhammer FANTASY
if they do something like that in 40k it'll be even worse
I thought it was explained he had bretonnian ancestry or something
they did
Definitely shoehorned but it was badass
but warhammer fans

also yeah idk why people got so mad over it
unlike people like us
"Haha badass knight man sword go swoosh"

Lady of the lake go brrrrr
uninstalling as we speak
The only Prem career that I dislike the backstory for is the Necro
Necro makes me sad
What even was the backstory for necro
Huh, what’s the topic?
Vermintide for some reason
👌
Lore wise it work, it's just the narrative that got bruised
She’s sharing a body with her evil twin
Oh
Hopefully she stops that eventually
But when they killed her twin a part of her seems to have possessed Sienna
Which is concerning the rest of the party
https://youtu.be/kNNzVLfasjI?si=nck5Tu3OVgaIEHNy
This video encapsulates my knowledge of vermintide 2's plot
What weighs several tonnes, draws ratmen like flies and sounds awful?
The journal they did for the Necro was so bad
Like it's supposed to explain how they "accepted" her or something and it doesn't feel like that at all
I still stand that we'll see Hedda as a playable character in Dreadtide
And that there will be an ex-Grudgebringer in the new group
NOW TO BE FAIR, all the side careers aren't canon technically
Only the VT1 and the Prem Career are iirc
Really? I thought even the premium careers weren't canon
Its just uh, alot of mental gymnastics to canonize necro sienna in my mind
Yeah no that applies to the launch careers
all the premium ones are canon, they have written entire journals about em
And the order of appearance is canon to iirc (with the missions and all
You don't really need to do much to make it make sense tbh, in WH Fantasy basically anyone that's even slightly magically attuned can become a Necromancer
Its just whew
Necromancy is preeeettyy evil
Compared to the moral goodness of Pyromancy
Winds of magic more like winds of my ass amirite
No
You know I’m a warhammer old world guy over 40K but I like Darktide better just cause I can make my own guy and don’t have to play the Uberseik 5. I’m sure people are divided on this, I’m a very rpg guy I like my character creators lol
Winds of Magic more like Chaos Essence
Character creators are interesting
Unless it is a very well developed character I will prefer playing my own custom character 95% of the time even if it's a blank slate with little actual development.
100% me too
I still like Vermintide don’t get me wrong, just a thing I prefer from Darktide
I too like to play dressup with my imaginary 40k hero
Now imagine a new Tide game in Old World where you make your own characters like Darktide and everyone is part of the Grudgebringers
You can use the wind of death without necromancy
Necromancy isn't actually tied to the Wind of Death, it's Dhar which is Dark Magic that draws from all of the Winds.
Also what does that have to do with what I said?
I understand
Kroot are the coolest species in 40k
I am Kroot🌲
yall think this is a symbol for the Adeptus Astra Telepathica? If so, maybe this means Sefoni is a teacher of sorts for sanctioned psykers. Explains her preference of company, beyond the surface level, a little bit maybe.
i wish the guard allowed xenos so i didn't have to look at ugly blue aliens if i wanted variety
Also yes that is the Telepathica
And yeah Sefoni is a VERY high level psyker, the fact that she can do entire dream training-sessions when you wire yourself up to her says as much
I was going to say I wonder why they have her just... sitting there instead of helping if she's a high level psyker but i guess guaranteed value vs. risk, yadda yadda
Yeah and the thing is we aren't exactly told what ELSE she does
so i doubt she just floats in that tank doing nothing but training courses
That's fair
Hopefully we get Sefoni lore drop at some point
Also Sefoni mentioned, obligatory clip of her calling me a mean word
Is Sefoni ever actually nice with any personality?
She wasnt nicr to my loner psyker
I think they're all the same voicelines, unsure tho
Thats a bit of a bummer
Nooo
They have different voicelines for psykers
They are listed on the wiki
Ooh nice
imagine 40k if xenos were as important as the imperium in the narrative
not seeing ultramarines and girlyman on the cover of every edition
not having every major event be another damn crusade
They (GW) won’t listen
hopefully they get around to making eldar work with the imperium more so eldar lore doesnt stay stagnating
I understand the horde xenos not taking the spotlight because you know they're literally just hordes that don't have interesting narrative victories to get, but at least ork stories are fun to read
Tyranids
Ehhh
Give or take a few acid bombs
the event victory of the tyranids was definitely good though
Alright taking my main chat conversation here.
Are chain weapons still technically power weapons, as they're mechanical powered tools.
They are powered weapons but not power weapons
seeing as power weapons are a semi specific designation
Chain Weapons is their category. Like Axes, or Eviscerators.
Eviscerators are two handed chain swords some of the strongest regarded weapons even used by space marines.
I think power chain weapons do exist though
Chain Fists
Also fun stuff like power chainswords
Imagine they give space marines Eviscerators with actual not crude energy fields.
And Eviscerators the Zealots used are a direct downgrade.
I mean to be honest space marines did have some cannons that could tear through buildings with sound even impenetrable forts.
The Ad Mech make some scary weapons that even make a leman russ look pathetic.
They have whatever the writers think is cool and think they can get away with
And the heresy age technology was just better and more destructive.
But after the Horus Heresy some technology just got wiped out.
They do not posses power fields
but some rare varients do
They do but it's so miniscule.
Kharn has jurry rigged his chain axe to have one lol
No they are basically just overly hardcore chainsaws
That it isn't regarded as one.
as do many world eaters that are still "sane"
the crab
I mean many spaces marine do this even loyalist.
The Space Marines always stealing custodes weapons
The most popular chain weapon that has a power field would be the eviscerator
Since they are large enough to house one but it's still comparatively weak to an actual power field for a power weapon
It's just a very thin layer to enhance the already dangerous teeth of the damn thing
But it's crude so it loses the ability to be called a power weapon.
Power Fists
Chain Fists.
Chain Fist is a modified power fist
So yes it's a chain and power weapon
Space Marines have the Ad Mech best tech, or especially tech marines.
Many patterns that aren't just given out.
I wonder if you’re say a psyker in the imperial guard and you’re going up against tyranids or a daemonic incursion, what would the best tactic be? To try and use your psychic abilities to gain an upper hand and accept the consequences of that, or go without and functionally become a more vulnerable guardsman?
how big is the daemonic incursion
No the Ad Mech has tanks and soldiers that aren't even used to assist the Imperium.
Let’s say like a localized breach in real space where daemons are out but not like an organized assault, like the veil is weakened by cult activity/summonings or something similar
For one, pull back as many people as possible to avoid getting exposed, bombard the shit out of the daemons
Nothing could go wrong giving a servitor a flame thrower.
What matters is that it’s a situation where psychic abilities are perilous but not exactly impossible, but not using psychic abilities could put you at a disadvantage
for psykers keep them back
until you have to
clean up duty for any daemons that survive the artillery
You blast their brains out before anything happens.
use guardsmen to hold the line as is tradition
Like if you’re fighting khornate daemons you’re just fucked as a psyker
They can control a system negatively, and kill your world.
Unless you’re somehow a superb swordsman
Or you have a name
real
then you're just fine
One psyker that comes out as a high grade one suddenly loses their mind a world is exterminatus.
For a nid invasion just use psykers
if they explode,
they explode
You're in such a shit situation you have to use every tool
just lead the daemons twoards the nids
When the heretics have psykers on Vraks.
I was assuming it was 2 seperate invasions
but if both are invading yeah
let them fight lol
Summoning daemons because they didn't keep them under check.
Tzeench daemons could possibly be good candidates for using psychic powers against them, since physical weapons tend to kinda cease working as you’d expect against them
As daemons can rise from bodies even in death
Fall of Shadowbrink is funny as shit
Bullets turning into like leaves ir something
the daemons had a "heroic" last stand
Can nids eat daemons?
We burned every last daemon, and xenos.
No
Nurgle daemons could also be a good target for psychic powers as long as you can muster the firepower to put them down for good
The Salamanders burned all the heretics alive, and ate them didn't you know.
the daemons had effectively "won"
and it was one of those rare times its all 4 gods daemons getting together
Salamanders burn everything that is a traitor or xenos.
and then everybodies favorite apex space bugs showeed up
And space marines can eat daemons.
Yeeeep
the nids made a beeline to finish off the imperials
because biomass
I didn’t know if against daemons it would be better to do something like shield your comrades from warp effects/their minds from corruption vs using psychic abilities offensively
which pissed off the daemons
Killing a daemon and eating it for breakfast.
Thats a great way to get executed or corrupted
and then the nids turned on the daemons because they were the "bigger" issue
which lead to the Great unclean one dying lol
Normal person: “I had a good day” Keeper of secrets erupts from body
and then the Lord of Change escaped back into the warp
leaving just the Keeper of Secrets and Bloodthrister behind
I mean to be honest guardsmen have amulets.
But I imagine reaching into the warp in any way is dangerous regardless of application
but the Khornate and Slaanesh demons had their last stand against the nids lol
and got banished back to the warp
I have to imagine those are just like comfort blankets vs actually functional wards
Yeah but the daemons just kinda get mildly pissed off, not like they can’t come back
It’s like being on a football team and your benched
yeah
but its not like they got their revenge lol
They could though, later, in a overly complicated plan
See actually the lord of change won because it’s definitely all part of the scheme
“All part of my nefarious plans” twirls evil mustache
step 1: we attack the imperials, step 2: the nids invade, step 3: the great unclean one dies, step 4:I leave
Step 5: this sets of a complex butterfly effect where a planetary governor trips and breaks his neck
Also, if you’re a unsanctioned psyker on some random imperial world that just found out about your abilities, what’s the best action for you to take, try to hide from the black ships and inquisition and pray your untamed abilities don’t take your life, soul, or all the way upwards to entire planets?(or maybe very unlikely get some sort of training or support from beyond the established authorities) Or be taken by the black ships, get consumed by the funny chair, or very rarely, survive all the training to become a sanctioned psyker and undergo the agony of soul binding?
Primaris Psykers are Sanctioned right?
Yup, I’m not sure if they are soul bound in the same way, or if they are genetically designed that way though
You mean Librarians?
Yes
Join a gang. And tbh being taken by rhe Black Ship isn't as bad as some other smaller organisations
Yeah but like 90% of the time, you’re getting your soul sucked out to the throne if you get taken the inquisition
Psyker getting ready to do their duty for the god-Emperor:
I imagine it’s not just poof and you die either, it’s most likely a horrible agonizing drawn out death as your very being is consumed into the psychic conglomerate and the torture might not even end after your body dies
Depend on if you get found early or not
How so?
