and an EC
I gotta feel bad for that 1 Unfleshed reminds me “of mice and men”.
The Emperors children would be really dangerous
THE EMPEROR LOVES ME
Honsou Ventris rivalry is like perty dorn lite
even funnier is how Fulgrim doesn't even bother commanding the EC lol
and didn't constantly fuck off to go torture civilians?
Siege of the imperial palace? Nah, there are civilians to torture
I have my doubts about either A/O being dead
Alpharius is confirmed dead
like the alpha legions whole schtick is they all look the same
A is dead as dead can be
yeah
Omegon is still alive and kicking
but he seems to not care about the state of the AL
AL even got psychic backlash when alpharius got chopped
Are there any further developments with the lion and the fallen?
Lion has started forgiving some of the Fallen
that he finds worthy of being forgiven
if they aren't forgiven he hands them over to the Interrogator chaplains to uh
do their thing
The ones that simply went renegade rather than traitor
yeah
or the ones who went traitor but regret it and didn't drink the chaos kool-aid
“Asmodai…do the thing”
I love how Asomdai is arguably shit at his job
Hes only gotten 2 confessions ever
he usually just fucking kills them
I consider that progress
Didn't their fortress get attacked in the arks of omen?
If they were innocent they wouldn't have died
did belakor things
I love Belakor, the true embodiment of chaos.
He went “HAH NERD!” shamk
I’ll probably catch heat for this. But I like Farsight’s story in Arks of Omen
Single chapter gets invaded by not one but two chaos demigods and survives... because of it
mfw your enemies bailed you out
They traded their chapter monastery teleport engine with chapter forest teleport
do you think Lion just
gathers them all up in a circle
before teleporting them lol
Isn't that what he did in his book?
Gather round, children, we're going on a walk through the spooky warp woods
Bros let's go to forest
It’s like one of those kindergarten lines you have to perform while holding a flag “Single file please”
lol
Hold hands of each other don't get lost
“Okay we’re here eh-….where’s jimmy?”
I think we can all agree that its heartwarming that once robot gorillaman woke up and looked at the imperium immediately got hit with the depresso
Fuck the smurfs, and fuck the codex
He got so salty he even bitched about imperium's state to mortarion
tbh the codex is like fine
As if he cares
from a fundamental standpoint
The codex is dumb
he wants to kill himself for a variety of other reasons tbh
The codex is the reason we have the marine malevolent
Gorillaman wrote neocodex after he woke up
This honestly
I hope they bring back Khan soon
They want to contrast his past self with his present one prolly
GW don't seem to rock the boat too much. No chill Lion would mean BT levels weaponized autism DA
Declaring war against ecclesiarchy, going out against guilliman for his populist approach
Now he's like, ok idgaf about how you do things. I can just protect you from stuff
Dante is still in charge too
Even the dead ones aren't dead because toys
Ferrus is definitely very dead
Unless they pull some shenanigans and "HE WAS LEADING THE LEGION OF THE DAMNED ALL ALONG"
Yeah he might be the last candidate to revive
Ababyddon is the new horus
Baddie even gets flak for looking like horus
and sanguinius being dead is too important to the lore of the blood angels and successor chapters
Meta momento
If they decide to retire dante, mephiston, sanguinor models...
Dante: "please just let me die..." The universe: "MMMM...nah"
I think Dante as lamenters personified. He's not that powerful himself. He gets seriously wounded in every encounter yet he punches way above his grade and gets the shit done
I put the humanity scale of Lamenters to be on par with the Salamanders. Our checkered shoulder poor punching bags, despite everything being thrown at them, still remain loyal
They also believe in burning themselves for cleaning so yeah
they probably host the best BBQ's in the Imperium
In a sense, they are offering the same mercy and purification to the enemies
Very wholesome very passionate
I was about to say burning to death and mercy shouldn’t go in the same sentence and then I remembered it was 40k
Compared to most fates in 40k? The Salamanders battle doctrine of "BURN THEM!...with kindness❤️ " really is on the merciful side of things.
Is there any book/story that is told from the tyranids perspektive?
damn I just looked up burning of prospero and russ is a scumbag
guy had no proof thousand sons were guilty like magnus, decides to bombard prospero from orbit and wipes out continent worth of cities and wild life then when the capital survived cause the thousand sons rush to activate the shield he and valdor now declares them guilty
horus intercepted russ and told him the emprah wanted the thousand sons dead instead of being brought back to terra
so russ was happy to comply
yeah yeah everyone knows the basic
im talking about the details afterwards
the magnus and diplomacy shit is okay sure, deceived but he still sends out message demanding surrender but tzeentch intervened so there’s that, but the fact that he force thousand sons to defend themselves, which isnt even shooting at the fleet btw, just shielding the capital from bombardment and condemn them after is just guilty
but yes, he did enjoy killing them and razing prospero a tad..too much
point is, thousand sons and prospero civs weren’t guilty of magnus’ doing, he could’ve sent a strike team marching right at magnus’ library then if faced resistance, shoot after
and yes, the thousand sons marines themselves got done extremely dirty, they even made planets prosperous, obeyed their primarch and then magnus abandoned them to mope in his tower while they had no clue what was going as the space wolves went after them
he shoot at civs first, then get pissed they defended themselves
among all loyalist primarchs who’s somewhat concerned with the innocents russ at prospero is the worst
the space wolves get better after the heresy tbh
mostly because russ fucked off and grimnar is a chad
russ is a grand tard in prospero, for someone who the book constantly reminds us is smart
during the heresy they kinda take their role as the emperors executioners a bit too seriously
and russ is hotheaded at the best of times
thing is custodes were also with russ, like captain valdor was there too
they also swallowed the dumbfuck pill apparently, letting russ fire on innocent civ
well I expect the custodes to kill civilians more than space marines generally
I wouldnt be surprised if valdor decided to nuke fenris to the ground immediately afterward if the emperor told him russ was a traitor
I think you'd be surprised to what the Imperium take as acceptable collateral damage
thing is valdor is a bot who’s meant to only obey big E and he couldnt even do the bot things right
big E says magnus alive, all cost, the fact that he let russ kill magnus means he failed the order given to him
yeah killing civilians during the course of the imperiums battle happens a lot, there are entire chapters who have protecting innocents as one of their defining features because it really is more uncommon than youd expect
that doesnt matter so much if they got proof prospero were guilty and it’s collateral dmg
dont you see how they force them into defending themselves and then say they’re guilty is the scummy part?
well they had proof, the issue was the scale of the punishment
which initially was bring em back to terra, and then horus lied and made it yeah no just kill them
and russ of course, hates magnus and the psykers anyway
so he was happy to oblige
only proof they had is magnus broke E’s project, far as the imperium’s concerned there’s no visible violation of nikea from prospero
you should go watch occulus imperia vid on burning of prospero for the actual details lmao
horus suggested, not decreed, otherwise that’s violating and trying to override big E’s censor degree
and again, valdor is there, and he doesnt believe that
not to mention, I dunno if magnus would have surrendered anyway
he was moping grandly in his tower, accepting death because he assumed the emperor ordered it as a reasonable punishment
ofc you dont know since you didnt read it
Horus was the Warmaster, his order were just as good as the Emp's
book says as much about magnus’ drive in disabling defences and stopping his sons from mounting defenses, cause he want the wolves to take it as a sign they’re surrendering and not to shoot
magnus’ intent to surrender is not open to question, if he receives the decree he would surrender
nope, since tyranids don't have the ability to narrate their stories or you know talk you can only really see the invasion on the perspective of the people about to be eaten
I'm pretty sure there is no book that is told in their perspective if there is then I don't know about it
Looks like the Death and the End Part 3 got released early in Canada so if anyone wants to read some spoilers here it is.
Lmfao christ
KEK
yeah uh this seems aggressively okay
nothing big revelations wise, important characters that werent obviously gonna make it into 40k die, Big E kills Horus, most of the original plotpoints are here, pretty meh
Is there a spoiler thread somewhere
quick question: if a person who is infected is important enough, would the emperium try to cure/ lobotomize them(with nurgle plague)?
I think they would just die
fair.
You gotta admit
||Loken getting backstabbed by Erebus out of nowhere was funny||
Yes
Fucking
Also Abaddon just letting him live because he has plot armor
Clown shoes ass book
^
I'm not too miffed by that, it's imo consistent with how he interacts with Siggy later on
Maybe Abaddon is just a chill guy
"Well how does he get there?"
"He walks through a door"
Though ||Horus just throwing that shit off|| is just
Huh
Pretty cheap way to nuke him tbh but I do like him just
Being able to do that
okay ngl i dont care for spoilers anymore fuck it
Horus begging for Big E to kill him is just lame

cmon really
Like I said
it's not even out yet
Its literally nothing good
and like anything big either
Horus and Big E fight and he kills him is not exactly a new plotpoint either

I still don't want to know anything about it before listening it myself
same thing with movies I want to see, won't watch trailers or anything
just spoil whatever you discuss about it

Even if it's disappointing, people should be able to experience the disappointment for themselves
thanks
and so the day it happened when the loremaster finally decided to snap
it was a glorious day
remembered by many
Not the 1st time GW/BL really end up missing the cues of good literature and going for bad ones

safest day in catachan
||pls tell me it says who died that made big E pulverize horus||
Read up here

||He just does it, guy is fully emotionless during this
||
Imma be real I have I clue how to navigate this website
I might just have brain damage
Thats how it is with most shitty forum sites lol
||HUH?!||
Ruh
thank you my brain can not comprehend this website
its a dumb one so
||FUCKING JOHN?!?||
||beating scalpers by writing HH fan fiction||
lmaooo
I'm going to be honest my good friend whatever fanfiction you write would probably be better than the whole of Horus heresy entirely
You say that, but fans wrote the Dornian Heresy and it's somehow worse.
I'm fairly certain that the Dornian Heresy was written by Perty's fan
Thats how Loken goes? Really?
Yeah but i do not care about the Dornian heresy and i actually forgot about the Dornian heresy until you reminded me of its existence just now

||Eresus really just pulled an amongus on him||
Unlikely in it Pert just dies in the battle of the Eternity Gate, it's not even noted who killed him, he just died during the battle.
Erebus being born and suddenly having smoke with everything breathing is the greatest thing of all time
yeah I never hated Erebus hes hilarious
like hes not a character to me
hes a cartoon
its so good
Wait so he take Sanguinus' place ?
Yeah he's like old chaos from fantasy that has like no redeeming qualities that push them forward he literally just wants more power and more control
FUCK IT WE BALL
Pert being hyper competent is common memelore
Erebus when he literally gets more power
Na it's weird, in it Dorn still built the Palace and basically traps the Emperor inside it, so the Loyalists are trying to siege it to free him, while the traitors are protecting it to keep them out so Pert is trying to breach the gate and Sang is holding it, like in regular HH.
Think it's more likely that Dornian Heresy was written by Ultramarine fanboys, because they don't become Loyalist or Traitor, Ultramar becomes an independent Empire that becomes hyper technologically advanced and tolerant while the Imperium regresses.
Pretty based
The only alternate heresy spin that I saw and liked was one where the Perpetuals all went against the Emperor, each creating their own factions
I'll never get over their handling of Sanguinius, their method of turning him traitor was to basically just make him a different person who isn't Sanguinius
Basically what happen to Horus
Like he's raised by different people and is a horrific mutant instead of an angel, like at that point it's not the same character, so why even bother with the whole what if scenario?
No I don't mean he gets corrupted to become different, he's just a different person altogether throughout the story
Most alternate heresy are like that, or have the divergence happen with the character changing personality
Scratch that, most fanfictions are like taht
I don’t know why they replaced all xenos with primarchs, but besides that the kitbash potential is cool
Death guard eldar is extremely funny though
To be fair, in HH a blood angel Character was possessed by a nurgle demon
Sure but HH also had a plot where there was an attempt to corrupt the entire Blood Angel Chapter and Sanguinius to Khorne, if you want to have an alternate timeline where he falls, just make that plot succeed. It's simple, all you have to do is remove the one Blood Angel character who stopped it.
Khorne blood Angels would have been kinda blatantly obvious tbh, khorne space wolves is literally perfect
Personally I think Slaanesh blood angels would have been better
Instead of
I agree Slaanesh would be the better option, I'm just saying that there's easier ways to make him fall to Chaos than completely rewritting his character from conception to make it happen in a way that still doesn't make sense.
No one I think?
Tzeentch Space wolves is great
Slaanesh honestly feel like the best way to make it work is either the White Scars, the Iron Fist, or the Ultramarine
WHITE SCARS OH YEAH
Slaanesh white scars is so fuckinh cool
But I would have preferred if they just fucked off
But it’s so awesome
Nurgle White Scars or Salamanders
I think White Scar's as Undivided feels better.
I don’t like ultra marines joining Tau- or taking over or what ever
Iron hands being necrons is pretty funny
Correct me if I’m wrong but the loyalist legions in dh are like, not interesting?
Like the Scars have that aspect of Chogorian Mysticism, which in a "What If" scenario could fill the position of the Word Bearers in HH.

This is one of my favorite 40K memes, pretty much sums up machine spirits
do GSCs get their new members like this?
Pretty much, or they keep it even more insular
Also sometimes they have a front
As just a normal rebellion
Or other sorts of organized groups
fucking erebus? are you kidding me?
Its funny
no no
you know what i hate about writers
when they feel obligated to kill characters when their plot arcs are over
lmao yep
just throwing away loken into the trash can because he's no longer got any plot relevance
i have no idea how to navigate that ancient website
MK ultra

there's too much shit going on in these books
literally a 14 year old's fanfic
the fact the courts full on called them out on that was so funny. "documents shouldnt look like barcodes"
lmfao
even in the abridged version like half the shit can be cut out
so dumb
thats a lot of fluff
and i image almost as much filler as the average american food product kekw
The custodes guardian spears
Are they actually spears or are they glaives
And they really don’t seem so horribly difficult designs to build why doesn’t the imperium make more of them?
because they are master-crafted + made for the custodes
you can copy the design its just that theres no point in it
due to the way they are used and the shape of the blade they are glaives
tho many have a halberd like spike coming out of the top of the bolter
It’s so good though
Orks took a while to learn to write
Btw I know where to find Gav and Bob, but didn’t people write more stories as spin offs of that story? And are they any good?
@soft thunder question has anyone on the Darktide wiki bothered making a page for the retinue members of Grendyl who sometimes get added through cosmetic item backgrounds?
Quick question, on death guards recruiting more plague marines. Do they just have spare mk3 armors lying around to give to their new guys? Because their armor is much different compared to the regular chaos space marine with their armor trims
stop asking logical questions
They probably make their own stuff
the death guard are very functional still
^
as an actual unified faction
the Plague Planet also like
literally has an active recruitment pool
and factories
also not all plague marine look the same way
as the minis
There's some that are pretty much just really fucked up MK7 marines
^
gotcha
on the covers of Lord of Silence you can even see a Plague Marine with firstborn armor
was there ever a stated reason for the little balls on some of the SM armor?
Also the nurgle/warp taint might straight up warp the armour into different shape
Its field repairs
they're bolts
or faster repairs
Also deflect solid rounds without allowing them penetration so are usually useful against other space marines.
Think of it like stone shattering and you bolt it together
With some on the edge of both cracks
It holds the armour together basically
As I understand anyway
makes since because iirc they started showing up during the heresy
didnt horus fuck over the loyalist logistics before the heresy started? made sure his forces got most of the new stuff
Yeah its the excuse used to like
explain all the new armor marks and how traitors get some of the more specific ones you see on modern Chaos marines
got it
or why they get all the powerpacks that have the extended thrusters lol
its flimsy but mostly works
he was the top dude at the time
only big e could have overruled him on stuff like that and he was busy back on terra
did they remake the armor to be fat?
so their guts swelled so much it literally dented ballistic ceramic
That + the warp actively mutates CSM armor
like actively accomodating and fusing to your skin or making demonic appendages
yeah if it can mutate void ships ceramite would be no different
Yep pretty much
whats the name of Nurgle's champion?
very original we know

a name literally SO on the nose they had to rename him in 30k
Typhon
Very creative gw
Oh yeah i love it
like its not as badass as Shockwave, Starscream or Megatron but ill take it lol
GW is British and i know better than to expect creativity from that nation lol

Its about what i expect from the writers of a factions called blood angels and space wolves lo l olol
ok so im reading Typhus' lexicon page and it sounds like the dude was made of pure adamentium before he became nurgle's chosen champion
well the overlords might have been mutants
Nah they are aliens.
Its outright said by them in the novel
but like its such a small part of his character so its not that important
ah the lexicanum page said it was unknow if they where xenos or mutant humans
Yeah its just not told outright but they basically are aliens
and uh
typhus' background changes like 3 times across the heresy, if you scroll below they even address it lmao
ok. i have seen a few references to Khorne daemons having dog-heads in some text. but i have never actually seen that in mini or artwork
is there a reason for that?
Khorne fans are furries
I kid
I'm not sure why there's a relation
Though a lot of Khorne fans I know are furries
iirc Khorne himself is said to have the head of a hound
I think its because you just associate hounds a lot with war/violent stuff or just mauling people
He's called the hound by the norscans if memory serves
ye
And he has doggo units
"cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war"
They, as the kids say, got dat dawg in em

but basically yeah thats the case
though its not used a lot as an animal motif for Khorne
but like. why in all the art and minis do none of them aside the actual hound units have anything remotely like a dog head
Narrative =/= mini or art disconnection
its the same as how in Gotrek and Felix the beastmen they fight have so many animal forms/heads aside from bulls or cattle animals but they are never showcased in minis
And frogs
Oh yeah lmao
And most notably me

damnit. the lexicanum didnt have anything on what the nemesis wurm actually does
it turned the fabricator general of metalica into some flesh abomination
So it seems to rapidly mutate the person it infects
its clear from what info the page did have and the short story Weshammer did a video on recently that Typhus loves to make viruses and sicknesses that are highly personal to the intended targets
Theres a lot of leeway to be creative in 40k narratively but very hard to portray in visual media
kind of, I could do something like that
might else well just put it on grendyl's page or something, seems bout right
Almost everyone of the bundles are members of the warband, not all state it directly, but it's implied for all of them , I assume, I'd have to check them.
only like 12-15 of the bundle descriptions (that I've found and added) really mention grendyl etc at all
I thought there'd be like 25 like that, guess not.
Question for the lore nuts here. Is there any particular guardsman character that you feel like is either underrated or overrated?
Personally. I miss Sgt Merrick from Dawn of War.
Yeah I just took a look, its a mix between 3 things
- Actually part of Grendyl's retinue
- Just happened to be on Tertium, not a part of the retinue
- Completely unrelated, just has a random backstory blurb
Clears throat
JANTINE MENTIONED
GG REFERENCE
Erebus channelling his inner raven guard for a momment
Maxim Sorel from ciaphas cain is kind of based
Only reason he died was for the plot
During a internal conflict while the valhallans are quarelling over their regiments merging, the dude just decides to stab some naval security guy to death for no reason
And handled genestealers and tau no problem
Absolute chad
Anybody familiar with white scar markings?
Somewhat
Do you know if there's like a chart or something because for the longest time I just assumed they were scribbles
its gonna be really embarassing if i just paint random markings on each marine
This ?
That armor looks protective as all hell
Flak armor ain't that bad, but how can a bolter round penetrate it?
Also how can an Eldar shurikens round penetrate it?
My estimate that thing should exceed level IV protection
One is literally an explosive red-bull can sized shell
the other is a alien material and also monomolecular, aka very sharp and penetrative lol
Those can sling a lot of material very fast
Yeah its like asking "how can a 50. cal penetrate a helmet"
by our standards is good but you only have to look at 40K to realize that it's basically garbage
Guardsman armour is somewhat effective against small arms fire from stub and las weapons, but bolters are just beyond that.
It has a lot of velocity
Being shot by a Bolter is more like being shot by a tank than a regular gun
To be correct autocannon
hell it can literally be just mounted into a stand and it would serve you well
Or if you're a giga Chad human you can wield a heavy bolter
Well some HMG are capable of being shot for hand (only Kord as I reckon)
But like in 2 round bursts with 0 accuracy
Fair enough, add jet fuel and ability to detonate on impact after penetration too
And also yeah, 40K humans are probably spiced by stims and enchantments
Bolters are kind of like small grenade launchers
Wonder if our guys in DT are juiced up on stims
I don’t know if they’re style gyrojets though
Pretty sure the zealot is on something
My Zealot, 100%
We do get battle stim but we also have normal stims too
Who’s Natty?
It's gym bro slang for "Natural" meaning no steroids
Probably boosted up by Khorne
my ogryn is probably dead because he has ingested enough stims to OD a space marine
Tox-Ogryn moment
Are psyker powers genetic? Like if 2 average psykers had a child would that child be a psyker?
I know Navigators have selective breeding
But i always wondered if that was an exception or the rule
Reminds me of cassia all of sudden
Not entirely, there are case of Psyker and Blank being born to normal people, or to Psyker/Blank
But it's not the majority
mostly but you can be very creative with your applications say use biomancy to forcefully move a flesh covered metal body
Being a psyker is about the "luck" of the draw and a lot to do with your soul
The only time I wish there was an option to send a security team to wherever she was holding that stupid ritual
So its pure RNG
Also there are some drugs which can give you temporary psychic powers
Yep lol
but yeah
Probably Chaos related
and you may die horrible death because you can`t truly control your "new" abilities in such case
So thats where Todd got the idea to make Jet give Mama Murphy psychic powers
You can literally overload and explode or you can die the fun part and become a literal portal forcefully being twisted and ripped apart as demons use it to have a vacation in the mortal realm
i would take the former if i were you because it's rather quite quick
My beloved portable Warp Rifts
Or if you want you can be fed to the emperor as a late night snack
Maybe
But still
so you probably already getting tainted after use
I remember in the FFG Star Wars rpg there was a drug called Booster Blue which was basically just a specific brand of spray paint that you could huff to sped up your reaction times and it made you better at piloting.
so how do you think Brunt became the warband quartermaster?
because an Ogryn quartermaster just seems strange to me
He’s a savant
Blessed with skills despite appearances
And rannick makes use of peoples skills despite how they appear. Example being us rejects
makes sense
every time you get information about an older imperial vehicle you almost always see it mentioned that it's still in use in very small numbers
like the malcador
but you can never find them in 40k stories grrr
im still really interested in the idea of a tank that was made during the great crusades still being used without anyone realizing its age
It’s poor engine isn’t maintained so well anymore
The answer as to why they aren’t in 40k stories
Is bcs forgeworld
yeah i was about to mention that aspect
most times old equipment is used is after it's taken out of long term storage or something
you know what really interests me though
the macharius
forge world made it for the siege of vraks
but it's supposed to be a cheaper replacement for the baneblade
It’s “worse” then the baneblade lore wise iirc
so the model can't be reused in solar auxilia due to timeline issues and GW probably doesnt want to add rules to another baneblade
But lore wise it’s made by forgeworlds
Who can’t afford the baneblade stc
Or don’t have it
it's going to be stuck in limbo isn't it
you'd think that would make them way more common
true true
But if you want to make your own like more badly supplied or worse regiment
Macharius very fluffy
I've wanted to make that for months if you havent noticed
Lol
a shitty backworld regiment
i'm still trying to print my "chimera" leman russ that's a mix of krieg/mars alpha hull with the discontinued gryphonne IV turret
idk why im so obsessed with only using 1:1 authentic GW models but i think it makes it so much cooler
i just wish there was more lore for astra militarum vehicle variants
oh fuck wait actually i had something for the chimera
isnt forgeworld a subsidiary of GW?
Yes
But they had separate modeling teams
And painting teams
The lore teams were the only shared thing
why?
Idk
WHEELED CHIMERA
thats just a striker lol
Ohh yeah I remember forge world is the one that had the rogue idol
Also FW has a very different painting style
From eavy metal
And it really shows
are those voidsmen?
They’re Solar auxilia from the heresy
ah
But the Solar auxilia were originally a Saturn “regiment”
That served as an elite force for the imperial army
what happened to all the Volkite weapons anyway?
Too few to spread out
They’re still made
Just only really used by the admech in any real number
Was it Phosphex where they lost the tech and killed the Inventor with it ?
Are these the guys that charonites worked with?
Yeah
But the Solar auxilia are interesting
Their “culture” spread really far during the heresy
And then completely collapsed back to just Saturn
thats the ones that covers the target in white phosphorus right?
Yeah and the gun is a holy relic
That’s phosphor which is a phosphex replacment
Phosphex is like if Napalm was corrosive and tracked down targets
And couldn’t be put out
well white phosphorus is the same way
Lol true
Phosphex is like Napalm if Napalm wanted youdead and had the means to do so
But the auxilia probably exists in some form still
On Saturn
Doubt they ever really leave though
*stryker
it's a last name
so yeah wheeled chimera. i think that would fit a snow theme very well
soft wheels are very good for snow
Weren't they reformed into the Old 100
also i noticed those wheeled chimera only had 6 wheels after i said that kek
Old 100 are only regiments who came from terra
The Solar auxilia had its roots in the Saturians
Before the culture spread out
so the Saturians still exist in 40k? thats impressive
They survived the heresy
the fun thing about the chimera is it looks like every first generation IFV that has ever existed
And they’re still an independentish shipbuilding and industrial base
classic 40k
and yeah the tracked chimera is literally just the old soviet IFV
The plastic Solar auxilia minis ironically might be one of the cheapest ways to build a guard army
if only modern GW understood that astra militarum shouldnt be pure WW2
they arent. they are a mix of ww1 ww2 and cold war
This next wave of guard releases is most likely krieg related
Bcs of the rumor engine
there's very little cold war elements in the major astra militarum regiments
still expect to see a hussar version of them at some point if that doesnt already exist lol
Yeah
Guard def leans way more into WW1/2
Except for catachans
Who are just Rambo
like the chimera is straight up early cold war which i find really cool
i want models for Athonian Tunnel rats as a kill team
4th guard killteam
💀
GW "recently" added the rogal dorn which is so WW2 that it hurts
Nids, death guard, world eaters and custodes crying in a corner lol
Not Chaos one
For killteam
does Krieg use undermining tactics?
Yeah
I just want a new Admech kill team
That’s what the engineers are trained to do
all Siege regiments do that
like literally?
because they dig tunnels
yes. as in tunneling under enemy lines and planting giant ass bombs under them
Yes
figuratively, they're the gas mask regiment. guess what their favorite weapon is
There is even a vehicle for it
Rifle
their lasguns
gas gas gas
Lol
Also dkok engineers have a gun that sends a charge that digs towards the enemy
And then digs up and explodes lol
its pure cool factor and shoulnt work. which is what makes it perfect
Mole launchers funny as shit
Hades breaching Drill
Looks like a grenade launcher vaguely lol
Wait those are Mole launcher ?
No
I though they wer shotguns
unironically i can see the DKOK using a giant TBM on some fronts
Revolving rifles did exist
and they sucked
They did suck during the time where Revolver were king, when cased ammo were rife they weren't bad
Warframe has a really fucked up looking revolver rifle lol
Look at this abomination
It’s hilarious
I almost thought that is a double barrel shotgun
It’s got that vibe
the revolver rifle had massive problems chief among them the tendance to bleed gun powder between the cylinder chambers which often lead to all of the rounds going off once one round was fired
Mmmm shrapnel
add that to the fact it had less rounds and lower rate of fire than the leaver action rifle that came out just a little bit later and the gun became a deadend
is there a regiment that has modern gear
is that whole thing in the middle the cylinder?
like i know kasrkin have that gulf war vibe but they're an exception to cadians
Yes the whole thing in the middle spins
This is the place where the bullets go in
I love how weird and fucked up warframes guns are
elysians feel more modern than cadians but i still feel like they're designed around WW2 paratroopers
The Harakoni Warhawks?
2 million years in the future means DE can go all out on the crazy
ye
Some of them are straight up out of mega man
A gun that shoots black holes a gun that shoots leaves
Absolutely hilarious
nothing like inlaying your bones with gold to show how rich you are
huh
Continuity lore is creepy lol
DE really cooked with it
The whole orokin kidnapping children thing to sell to each other
yeah
I feel like there was one based on the French foreign legion but I forgot their name
they still exist irl btw
The French Foreing legion ?
yup
Obv
yeah
It's why I mentioned them when speaking about modern troops
wouldnt they just use standard NATO equipment?
honestly tho the problem with "modern" in a wargame like 40k is the closest you are gona find is gulf war
and largely first at that
depends what you consider modern
Zola was spared? It’s so Joever
i'm thinking of slapping some ERA on a wheeled chimera and that alone would make it look like any number of modern IFV's used by countries with small military budgets
that's the great thing about modern shit, you can mix so much stuff together
that's what i'm going to do for my valhallan chimeras
que the ERA meme dudes
dont even get me started on that
nothing makes me act up quite like seing antiquated combat equipment being updated with modern technology
that unironically makes up a big part of of a lot of modern miltiaries
hell even America's
because why make something completely new when its easier faster and cheaper to just update what you have?
america is almost the only exception
i would kill for something like this for the IG vehicles
compared to other countries america loves to throw away old stuff
especially when you consider the size of their military
we still have a lot of old stuff and the navy loves to mothball ships on the off chance they might be needed at some point
MIC Moment
ships are a bit different. i think the USN doesnt sell them anymore because they're so incredibly high tech sometimes
but like after WW2 a shit ton of ships were scrapped
yeah because they wherent worth the cost to mothball
and USN ships are constantly evolving
the cost of making new supercarriers alone is like several country's military budgets combined
yeah
the Ford class cost a shit ton
and took forever to finish but thats normal when you are using all new tech
that and mismanagement
ye
does terra no longer have oceans
nope
nope
that's explicitly stated
they boiled away long ago
before the unification wars even
Terra looked like Mad Max's world for a long time
techno-barbarians racing across the sands of a dying world fighting over what little scrap they could find
why?
this is how two forge worlds achieve better penetration with their vanquisher
the stygies version is literally just APFSDS
which implies that normal leman russes just shoot solid shot shells lol
i wouldnt doubt it
No it doesn't
I mean it doesnt imply that, not that it doesn't do that
if APFSDS is considered superior for anti tank than the normal battle cannon then i dont see why not
We can guess that it doesn't shoot subcaliber / DS shells normally, but it could shoot cumulative shells for example
it's just funny because it's not like it's super advanced technology
ye thats a core part of 40k stuff
most of the tech isnt that advanced hell some of it is even behind what we have rn
mixed in with some super high tech shit like gravity guns
leman russes do have advanced tech though. that's what i find funny, like it's a WW2 tank adapted to the 40th millenium
like plasteel is still supposed to be this incredibly advanced material that we have no equivalent
ye
it's what i love about the astra militarum
GW had to go and make primaris marines more techy which sucks
grav tanks and shit
oh and it's not shown in the screenshot but the shell is literally described as having a discarding sabot
shit i might get Morvenn Vahl, her book comes with terot cards
Ah yes. Morvenn “Fuck Politics, going Crusading” Vahl
big lady
I respect her moxie. And having her being from my 2nd favorite order of Sororitas is a bonus.
shit you cant spam named sisters naymore can you
i was planning on just getting all the sisters character and hero hammer the shit out of sisters
based motto
HI ALL ! I got a question for the lore keeper. I was watching the intro of the game today and something pop in my head when they closed the windows and prepared to get in warp mode.
If they use gellard shield to protect from most of the warp when going in. Why cant they build a gellard weapon or some dyson sphere aparatus (think alot of ship going around a planet to spread the field). so they inhibit the warp from getting stronger while they fight it planet side? I know for planet deemn not critical they go EXETERMINATUS DECREE and glass the world and its ok. but when they want to save the world, would it not be feseble to make wish bersion of black obelisk in a sens? thank you in advance. I want to know whats the lore reason keeping them to do that plz.
A Gellar field works by projecting a bubble of realspace around the ship to protect it inside the Warp, projecting a bubble of realspace around something in realspace probably wouldn't do much
And if that shit were to fail mid travel in the warp, the game would be over before we’d even get to Atoma Prime.
It basically comes down to there are different rules in the Warp and in Realspace and Daemons can only get into Realspace under certain circumstances, so when travelling through the Warp they project Realspace around themselves so the Daemons can't get in. But if you're in Realspace and the Daemons have already managed to make their way in then the Gellar field doesn't do much to stop them
It's like a torch, it's useful at nighttime because it lights up the darkness, but if you're standing outside during the day even if it's a bit cloudy it's not very useful.
they don't really know how it works, they just don't think about improving and finding new applications of tech. they are just glad it's there and it's working, most of the time
As for the Black Obelisks, the Imperium doesn't really know how they work and I think they only recently learned that they repelled the Warp during the 13th Black Crusade
that's true for all kinds of tech in 40k, it is maintained in complicated chants oils and stuff and they don't fuck with it
they found out about blackstones because abaddon was targetting them iirc
iirc isnt it do with the blackstone that they are made of? the metal can be made to ether attract or repell the warp
Yeah but its not simple, its tied to Necron tech which is hilariously more advanced than what the "Tech"priests have access to.
ye
I had a thought. What if the age of strife is a lie? What if the Men of Iron had figured out the danger of the warp and were trying to purge humanity of psychic potential entirely. Obviously Big E couldn't not allow this since once everyone else was gone they'd come for him. He sets off a vicious civil war against the Men of Iron purely to preserve himself and wrecks humanity. We know that the Necrons manage FTL travel and things like time and physics manipulation without souls so there is no reason for the empire to continue to use warp travel with the Men of Iron.
The theory could also work with it being chaos that orchestrated the war, having humanity as a food source is in chaos best interest after all
Only part I like about leman Russ is that he sided with Lorgar and helped Magnus convince the emperor to not wipe out the word bearers
Bullshit E let space wolves have religion but not word bearers but what ever
Didn't leman russ come to fight magnus on his homeworld though ?
Leman said the only thing he and Magnus have in common is their respect for lorgar
I always wondered, is Savant still technically insane? Or is their personality meant to fulfill the "Sanctioned Psyker" fantasy?
You could spin it in a way that made it convincing the Savant was insane, but I think they are the 'sanctioned psyker' fantasy
What make you say that tehy are insane ?
They are very much sane.
I just assumed every psyker had some level of insanity
I can never remember which is which, what's the one that sounds like Tali?
Savant is the former Enforcer, the French accent on the woman
Loner is the one I'm thinking of
Indeed, it's why I picked Loner voice, it was between her and the Frenchie, Tali always wins
🙏
trying not to go insane listening to the second space wolf episode of this podcast
Bjorn is the only bearable character lmao
What did they mean by this
(:
Fun fact, in Necromunda there is a specific situation you can play where you apply with another gang of the same alignment (except outcast can do who ever and palatine they have their own rules they need to follow I believe) and their fore genestaler cults can ally with chaos cults
I’m just stuck thinking about the genestealer cult and chaos cult barely being able to cooperate
‘Xenos’
‘Heretic’
Lmao
Also have you read genestealer cult’s rule names? They are so fucking great
Here comes the hour here comes the hero’ is a favorite
I wonder, what are some planets near baal that weren’t completely devastated, there’s. A genestealer cult near ultramar that worships old one eye and hates the ultramarines
I wonder if baal could have an equivalent
Meeeooow
😺
cat activities
my print failed
i have a crooked leman russ now
my tank barrel has issues
perfect for terrain on a model tbh
Also guess whos writing a paper on board games!!!
True, pair that with a fucked up Leman chassis
now you have to learn about 40k tabletop
its about if external locust of control people enjoy luck more than internal locus of control in boardgames
i have no idea what these words mean
Locus of control is a physiological theory, the idea is that internal believes your own actions affect the world while external believes the world affects your own actions
My paper is a fictional proposal for an experiment to test this
Anyone else feel like the argument of "space marines not wearing helmets doesn't make sense" is dumb? they give up all tactical camo just to represent their founding, use swords just to look the enemy in the eyes when they kill them and things along those lines. Exposing your most vulnerable spot is just a way of saying "try and kill me bitch" right? And that makes perfect sense in that context.
Plenty of words to say it doesn't make sense
OK no plot armor who would survive a sniper rifle designed to put down a space marine directly aimed at their skull?
The one with the helmet or the one with the helmet?
If a Sniper rifle is designed to put down SM then in most case it's made with the helmet in question, so both would have very slim chances of survival (But Helmet still would offer some protection)
Also helmets are more tailored for shrapnel
It still doesn't change the fact that wearing no helmet is not a good idea you may as well have it on because yes even though it might Pierce it at least it would at least somewhat cushion the blow
and hey a helmet has like very useful heads up display
tracking and stuff
Not wearing it and handicapping yourself with that disadvantage of not having information on the go is kind of dumb
and Space Marines are never dumb
well
that is quite debatable
It does a lot
nah
compared to what? a chaos demon?
thats like saying whats a hazmat suit when you get nuked
they're still superhumans
yeah and being naked does jackshit
If the power-armor did "very little" it wouldn't have so many marks and upgrades
sorry i was going to say the armour doesnt do much to augmente their senses
like yeah it's armour

but i read so many times about how a main character's helmet does jack shit to filter toxins and stuff
and how their sense of smell is just linked to the helmet because it's so sensitive already
Space Marine equipment/armor is as strong and weak as the plot requires.
probably just writers trying to justify the character not having a helmet but i think it's ok
what's funny is when they assume we know they dont have a helmet
I'm confused, almost every time I read about it they spend considerable time explaining how armor augments them and how it is sealed against the flavor of that combat
that's odd. i remember distinctively in the first horus heresy books that the helmets links to an astarte's senses
and a couple of mentions here and there in other books
yeah dont think on it too much lmao
it's bound to happen when there's like 400 space marine books
It's also the nature of plots that things rarely get brought up unless they're relevant and things are most likely to be relevant when they're exciting so you will have more story examples of them failing because that's a development that adds more tension as opposed to "everything worked fine and no one got hurt because the filtration system worked perfectly"
^
for example Scion sergeant berets were always just berets
now the latest kill-team says they are flak-proof
lmao
So it's less "They never do anything" and more "The story only talks about them when they fail"
that and just adding bullshit features as they go along
like how Marines can eat someones brain to learn info
eating a body to see its memories
Is there ever any book where the Space Marines actually shoot acid from their mouths, because I know that's a thing that they can apparently do, I've just never seen it.
i have said this before but this is worth re mentioning again: soul drinkers are supposed to have a higher ability to see memories from eating bodies and ben counter only uses this once
Yup lol
They do use this ability but your complaint shows literally how rare it is lol
the acid spit + brain eating is a very OP ability
shame all Marines got alzhiemers
Csm does it all the time and make fun of sm for not using a perfectly legit weapon
an ability they have that i often see mentioned is their implant that filters toxins
yeah thats more the author poking fun at it
The space wolves literally developed an alcohol strong enough to kill a human just to bypass that
Just to get themselves drunk
I read a few times about how ridiculous it is and sm refuses to use it even if they are capable.
So I think it's just narrative perspective
is there anything stronger than 100% ethanol
Well the point is getting drunk
i drank 95% scientific grade ethanol once
They use space drugs to get space drunk
Tasteless and more alcohol, legit comparison
well it literally has no taste
no smell either
but dont smell it
you'll fry your sense of smell
i couldn't smell for a month
I just read the part of "Dark Imperium book" when the Emperor talks with Guilliman...
...Man, it was like a knife into my heart.
They add a poison made from a fenrisian herb that shuts down the organ that prevents drunkenness
that's genius actually holy shit
an author actually explaining how something works in the astartes anatomy
it was either william king or lee lightner
deathworlds be like: our plants give astartes temporary organ failure
catachan be like: our plants give astartes permanent organ failure (by eating them
)
Why does all the enemy captains have swedish names? Is that lore accurate or is it just a "lol swedish devs" things?
probably the latter
- Sounds cool
- Fatshark is Swedish
They do ?
Yeah its majorily swedish
Never noticed
most swedish names are extremely fantasy-esque so thats prob why

ala Magnus
lol
beware traitor captain Knut Jerker
The 2nd Primarch finally revealed
