Yeah its pretty basic demon stuff
np 👍
Its basically why its in very specific spots jamming and infesting critical machinery
They do have a name, I think it's Observer or something
Corruptor, from the penance
I wish there was a meme like ‘don’t fall fro chaos cults! Watch out for heretics’ and a picture of an imperial cult follower with like ‘good’ then a chaos cultist ‘bad’ b it they are baiscally the exact same

Isn't there something like that in the regimental primer ? I seem to remember something of the sort
OMG YEA
that entire book is an amazing meme
- “Yes, join us. Only in the Dark Abyss you can find salvation.”

If I remember rightly there's a line about the Daemonic growths, where one of the Vets questions how there's so many Daemons infesting places all over the hive infesting the machines and Mazozi says that it's actually just one single Daemon that's spread out over the entire Hive and then avoids the question when someone asks how she knows that.
How did Medusa V fall?
I wish the book wasn’t scalped to hell
The Iron hands homeworld? It’s fine
Oh nvm
BOTH
Yea
"It didn't, it's fine" the first thing that comes up when you search Medusa V
I forgor
It was a campaign event by GW
So I’d assume the planet was horrifically destroyed
In some manner lol
I messed up Medusa and Medusa V
💀
HAHAHA
My favorite part is that this was made during killteams 1st edition, where the meta was to give all your guardsmen plasma guns and always overcharge
Plasma spam is still the best in killteam lol
Fair but it’s Harder
First edition Killteam was simultaneously better and worse than 2nd
For vet guard you always take plasma gun on a gunner and plasma pistol on the sgt.
Worse in almost every way by the end except variety
It was horribly balanced
Warcry luckily fixed a lot of issues kill teams had
And the elites + commanders update made it worse
Killteam 2.0 is one of GW’s best games
Tbh
so to go back to my question
The best elements of 1st edition were good in theory, but lacked in practice
HOW DID MEDUSA V FALL
No clue
Because literally everyone was there
That and warcry 2
Dman warcry is amazing
Black legion probing strikes, daemonic incursion, imperial defense against it, ork waaagh and nids showed up and Necrons tried creating a null zone
It’s a huge campaign bcs it was a narrative event by GW
They needed to fit every faction in
Idk if you are memeinh or serious that’s every gw event
Eldar were trying to stop chaos from eating it up
And the dark eldar were grabbing slaves
I’m serious
The problem is 40k is so skewed
It was a GW narrative event
AOS events are usually like 4 factions
With player input
Hes not lying
It doesn’t really matter at the end of the day
Because the fan base is pretty evenly distributed
In AOS
I believe like 100000 people were involved
Possibly, 40 thousand?

AOS in general is a lot calmer than the warmongering fans of warhammer
Lol
Anyways I hope GW makes more warzone books
Or books like them
They’re cool lore
HE SAID THE THING
I liked the ship terrain pieces
It was cool
Tbh the best clusterfuck battle
That GW has done was warzone nachmund gauntlet + warzone vigilus
Since those 2 warzones were directly connected
And every faction was involved but Nids
And crons lol
word
but still I really enjoyed the lore behind it
because everyone pretty much got a slice of the cake
It's just a big fight
Orks are very easy to convince
Just point at the general direction and say there is a fun fight over there
Nachmund also had one of the most idiotic decisions ever made by a Guard captain mid battle

which caused imperial infighting
And they will come barreling down at the direction they pointed at
and then chaos started infighting
because they disagreed on what to do
truly the funniest warzone GW made
I think that's the only closest thing that we will get canonically similar to the dawn of war plot of multiple factions in a scrap ring
Put them in a planet and watch as it blows up as multiple types of weaponry engage in epic scale combat
word?
I guess it is more similar to soulstorm
Nachmund rift war
is what the incident is called
but yeah the GSC had an uprising
when the imperial forces started infighting over a guard captain blowing an eldar autarchs brains in the middle of a battle
10/10
very funny tactical decision
Absolutely the worst thing you could have done
No no it had a MUCH goofier name
i swear
What could it possibly be that it would get more goofier than that
Nachmund sounds like a kid on a comatose trying to pronounce Nacho
Wait nevermind I semi-mixed it up
here it is
The War of Beasts, later sometimes known as the War of Nightmares upon the arrival of Chaos forces[6b], is the term for the ongoing conflict on the Imperial World of Vigilus.
NOT CONFUSING
but yeah the guard captain killing an allied eldar autarch completely shattered imperial cohesion
And then the eldar turned on the guard regiment
and then the imperial forces started murdering each other
sometimes i just wish sometimes the eldar didn't get suplexed by GW for the 50th time today
because a majority of them thought the murdering of an allied commander was a terrible idea
Tbf the eldar won
the worst part is the autarch actually tried to explain the situation
also yeah they got their goal and fucked off
YEP
the funniest part is they were the lucky ones, the war gets wild after they leave lol
Which is very rare because usually they will just do what they think is right and don't even tell you why they're doing it like you know genocide in your entire planet because it might turn into a giant monster
tbh they stopped the big chaos push
and the warpstorm from forming
shame the autarch died but they retreived the armor
was the Autarch alive in the spirit stone?
Their soul was
they died
and since they're an autarch their soul became part of the armor
If they had lost the armor that would be a pretty big loss
since you lose all the past autarchs who died with that armor on
good at least Slannesh couldn't get a chance to suplex the guy a second time
LOL
this is the autarch that got their brains blown out lol
I forgot that they were in a box
Nah thats a different one
is it?
Yep this aint nachmund
fuck
basically the Iron Warrior techmarine and the Autarch fight a lot before the box goes
"ANYWAY, YOU DECIDE THE GAME!"
lol
thats where the tabletop section starts
i swear the psychosexual need of GW to dunk on eldar harder than Shaq O'Neal dunking a basketball on a hoop is only rivaled by their need to produce a space marine that is apparently cool and relatable
maybe this codex
all good
Exarchs becoming sergeants is another humiliation I won’t forgive GW for until they revert it
One of them must have been so salty about the exarch that could fly behind the lines and shoot tanks and characters in the back double tapping their bright lance
Exarchs are still very strong this edition tbh
its just that aspect warriors on average aren't good
this is more of just a failure of GW balancing
They were closest since during 9th ed but are more sergeant like now
But other factions get these lt level characters that the exarchs used to be
So it’s very bitter
3rd
ah
exarchs still win the dick measuring contest tbh
regarding squad sgts.
and also they win against a good chunk of characters as well lol
They were like actual full characters in 9e though
like they used to be
At least the Avatar is back to its 2nd edition presence
You complain about Exarchs but the Drukhari Dracon's just got evaporated by GW
bruh Druhkari literally lost everything this edition lol
Wyches don't have combat drugs or any of their special weapons lol
That’s the default state of how GW historically treat Dark Eldar
not really
well
actually yeah
sorta lol
but they had it nice in 8e and 9e lol
I remember people making jokes about it before the 5th edition book
They get basically a short time in the sun
the army from hell lol
For an edition or two
They did great in 9th because 9th was very melee heavy, so Wyches slammed
Like how Repentia and Arcos dominated for Sisters, then 10th nerfed all their melee into the ground
The only things that melee well are like monsters and bullies
Custodes were fine
and uh
I guess eldar exarchs are fine lol
still ate a nerf
that was way too much
like every fucking army lol
For 10th GW looked at Sisters and deleted our melee and Anti vehicle capabilities
Banshees are worse against power armour than scorpions now
Scorpions aren’t amazing but they’re usable as far as melee units go
They went hard on all the heavy hitting melee units that dominated 9th because tbf there were times in 9th it was a bit ridiculous
But they did too much to nerf them
They had to change Mortal Wounds but I knew Mortal Wounds would be a problem mechanic as soon as I saw it
Like there would be a lot of times in 9th where a melee focused army in the first round would just
Advance
Strat/ability which lets them Charge after advancing
Melee buffed from Charge
Entire enemy unit is dead
And then repeat next turn
Like if you stacked the right buffs for Blood Angels, you could charge in a 10 man Assault Intercessors and have like 50 attacks
I love the old terrible space marine armor where it’s a pattern
Like the old mantis warriors
Or flame falcons where it was a nuclear bomb
Im porbbalg donna do veteran models like this
Ie stern guard
Yeah the use of color really took a backdrop nowadays huh
Space marines right now are more "civil" with their color use
I love the idea of veterans of campaigns using unqiue color schemes
From their campaign
Like if a squad was venerated for a campaign in an ice system totally paint them il with ice camo
that would add flavor to the rather bland coloring
100%
Maybe your captain was specifically venerated during an event just have him painted like that from it

get this dialogue if you get the three different psyker personalities in the same team
rather interesting it is foreshadowing the current storyline and future storyline events
Zola is an undercover Harlequin actually
And has infiltrated Wolfer's family since birth
She has tamed the broodlord and is using him to divert the PDF's attention
i just read about psycannons
i do wonder is there a psy-rifle too?
or smth smaller calibre
If the imperium stopped being wusses and invent stuff I'm sure they could find a way to make a psy-rifle
if it isn't already a thing
There are Psy Bolts, but other than that, there isn't really any use to making those
It's probably a matter of practicality, most people wouldn't be able to use em to their full potential
They also strain the weapon much more than ordinary rounds iirc
And Psyker are already able to do ranged attacks
Yup, smaller calibre is psybolts used in bolt pistols
Very specific ammo/gun for a comparatively rare enemy, there's not much reason to make a lot of them
What are the lore ramifications of this?
big daddy is here
“I sell promethium and promethium based accessories”
“You’ll never burn heretics this clean with coal”
‘A sad instance,’ Ushoran grumbled. ‘What say you, Lord Ouboroth? How might thee proceed, should a courtier prove false?’
‘He is but a snake, my lord.’ Sekhar’s amenable tone betrayed none of the irritation she likely felt at her pet being addressed.
‘Is he?’ Ushoran chuckled. ‘Is he indeed?’
God, I love him so much. (Context: Ouboroth is literally a snake but Ushoran's delusion was making him think it was a Noble Lord, so he was just sitting talking to the Snake)
bro my man Ushoran is lost on the death mojo
How likely is it that an inquisitor or a member of their retinue would use xenos weapons or tech and live?
I have lmao
She showed up for 5 minutes and has been entirely irrelevant since psychic awakening
Classic GW character
God that was so long ago too
The best part is Ushoran most likely didn't even take her saying "He's a snake" literally and instead probably thought she was calling him a snake to say he was untrustworthy and took it as a joke.
I could see inquisitors using xenos weapons as a form of irony, or just because they’re plain better
Don't you lot see the nobility in it's eyes ?
me staring at the inquisitor that is using a Master crafted big shoota that shoots plasma claiming it was research
Mine has a hexmark pistol
he lies and says its archeotech

Plausible since most wouldn’t know the difference
You couldn’t say, use a drukari weapon though and make that claim lol
Imperium sure loves using xeno tech
But they hate using xenos tech
Looking at callidus assassins and their necron blades
Classic double standard
In fairness, it is old enough to be considered Archeotech
Technically correct
even the worse crafted hyperphase blades is better than any master crafted power sword
If one could use one successfully and live, I would be impressed
just do yarrick style, fill in the missing bits
Huh, it’s almost as if a doctrine of technological stagnation leaves you lagging behind severely in the arms race
I think a power claw is easier to use/fix up than a rapid fire plasma gun, since an imperial power claw and an Ork one are functionally the same, where if you try and use a Ork plasma gun without their psychic ability, it’ll probably just explode
Now that fine fellow is clearly a Marquis at the least
I'm sure it will be fine
When was the last time rapid firing the fourth state of matter went so wrong
That's right a few years ago
So it will be ok
They just didn’t have enough WAAAAAGH! To do it successfully
Thats my favorite thing about orks, their pure adaptability, and just how much they're willing to make things happen, regardless of how impossible it may be
Yet another reason I'm upset there are no orks in rogue trader
like cmon, they're the most (or 2nd most depending on who you ask) widespread race in the galaxy, they gotta be in the koronus expanse
If they dont come in a DLC I will be very unhappy
Yeah they are
It's just that yeah you'd like you said they are probably in a dlc
I mean if you go to the navigator map on the top right you can see a literal ork skull
I know and that makes it all the more frustrating
that they tease it, but its not there
theres one in your study too
and it says an "unknown xenos skull" like cmon, nearly everyone knows what an ork is
the interaction to ask Heinrix about the ork skull was kind of a missed opportunity
i am his daddy
even tho psyguns are not lore friendly, i made one for my psyker, with this mod, just to feel scyer's gaze more 'real' (or logical)
(i wish i could change the muzzle flash to blue when scyer's gaze is active)
Guys is there any image or oficial artwork about how terra will look in wh40k ?
Somehow Old World gets even worse, not content with rereleasing 30 year old models, they're now releasing 16 year old models that never entered production because they weren't seen as good enough at the time.
Oh you have to be tickling my brain cells
Gw will always be mr krabs
Why not enjoy some scraps we got off the floor with your cold leftovers
Even better, it's going to be released as a Metal mini, for some reason
Metal
Really
They're not even planning to release it on the normal material they are normally using
I'm no painter but i feel like painting metal isn't exactly going to be the top of my day
“It’s rare to release a new model in metal,” Rob adds."
I wonder why
It makes no difference for painting. Cleaning and prepping on the other hand...
Yeah i wouldn't want to see my greasy ogre fingerprints on my model when i'm handling it
Metal is the best
It’s satisfyingly heavy
It paints the same, just make sure it’s primed correctly
Oh really
Hmm
I guess it is better than resin
Finecast was a massive downgrade and caused massive uproar when it replaced metal
Resin is the most annoying for sure, but Metal did have some issues with some of the paints flacking quite easily iirc
Metal also has the advantage that you could strip them more easily secondhand
Even if it was absolutely caked in an awful paint job
You could use stuff that could melt resin or plastic iirc
Robber when I throw the entire metal range of Warhammer miniatures directly at their skull
Man putting down that fully metal imperial knight model must be absolutely funny
Finecast also had the issue of just being such a rushed release
The first iteration formula was the worst for warping
It's still not perfect
But it's not nearly as bad as it once was
And GW is good about replacements if you get warping
Not if you are half the world away and ordering from a third party
Yeah, slightly less good
Trust me, I get it
I live in the middle of nowhere in the US
Nearest GW store is at least 2 and half hours away by car
well it's almost a 20 year old hand sculpt
My bad I saw the stuff on YouTube and thought it was a new sculpt
Side note congrats on dark angels for having an actual interesting model, the inner circle looks cool af
Loads of kit and material
How many sword themed chapters are there?
Or key themed
Let’s see
This could be cool castellens of the what ever
Since they are just green Melee ultra marines
I'm very tempted to start a DA/DA successor force with the new kits
will most likely get the Deathwing set
and the inner circle later
Yeee there’s a few good ones
The forgiven is dark angels with actual logic
there's actually very few interesting ones 😄
Lmao
Honey I like terrible color schemes as long as they are interesting
Kinda tempted with the Heresy era black with black and white checkers
Also fuck the star phantoms I hate them so much
a bit tempted by Angels of Redemption to do a cool split scheme but that would require a lot more effort
or Angels of Defiance
I remember uh, knights abhorrence being neat
Nvm they are just xenos hunters
Wow a lot of them are ‘dark angels but just do one thing f’
The Guardians of the Covenant are a Successor Chapter of the Dark Angels, of an unknown founding.[3]
This one has a baller color scheme
a lot of them are just dark angels with different paints, that's their thing
The Knights of the Shrouded Skull are a Ultima Founding Successor Chapter of the Dark Angels.[1]
I can’t read their lore because of the fucking ad
I’m in mobile atm
Oh lmao
You could just hijacker a chapter with no lore
Or make your own
well sure but I'm not really good at coming up with scheme ideas
The Bringers of Judgement are a Dark Angels Successor Chapter.[1]
and lore is kinda part of the fun for me
Oh hey these guys are just the inquisition
Same
I struggle at writing custom faction lore for some reason
But I love writing individuals or whole planets
these guys sound -and look- like they are word bearers absorbed by dark angels
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Penitent_Blades
Tbh I like these guys color scheme a lot
The Penitent Blades are a Dark Angels Successor Chapter.[1]
The Angels of Redemption is a Successor Chapter of the Dark Angels, created during the Second Founding.[2]
AHAHAHDHAHAH
that's just any dark angels
DA hunting the Fallen is the weakest storyline, glad it's getting a shake up with Lion and the Risen
Yea me too

I wanna see Lion and cypher drinking beers
Cypher has been Alpharius this entire time
I like the ideas of cypher except unironically Alpharius does it better
Alpha legion*
Looking at my least favorite chapter and
I think there is a bit of A pattern
wolfspear is guilliman forced new chapter
others are just wolves with different colored armor
Yea lol
When are we getting the Wolflord Wolves?
Or the Fenrisian Dire Wolves of the Wolflord's Wolf Moon
think so
I think they did but their rules are so weak people play them as red ultramarines
Its that
and they got so many clone names
Angels of
Sanguine This
Crimson That
fuck me lmao
Don’t you start a new successor when you past 1000 marines or something?!
also often when a marine chapter is featured along side the main story but not the main focus they're often blood angel successors for some reason
Marketing™️
I just imagine that meme with the guy dropping his spaghetti but instead it’s geneseed
new foundings happen only by the order of the high lords of terra or similar, not by the chapters themselves
its almost as bad as the space wolves lol
like ultramarines can't just go yea this company is now it's own chapter because we're at max capacity
that one lord of Terra when he’s being asked why he approved 20 more chapters of sexy gay vampires
that would be the same as legion
wolves and bt don't care about codex, afaik highlords don't easily approve dark angels successors, there are a lot of raven guard and ultramarine successors too
Its basically here and there yeah
bureacracy for the imperium is also a nightmare lol
white scars are getting shafted for no apparent reason popularity
khan my beloved
Side note, new cool lore YouTube channel and I really like his voice
Welcome. I am The Remembrancer.
It is my duty to chronicle the deeds and glories of the Imperium of Man.
By the will of The Emperor we shall elucidate humanities’ struggle with the ruinous powers and confront the foes of mankind. Through knowledge of our past our Imperium shall grow stronger.
For in the grim darkness of the far future, there ...
he's been around for some time now

he's like amber king but he does short videos too
thats putting it very lightly
its worse than hell itself
Reminds me of the beginning of the day of accession
A teh priest obsessed with mercury presents a minor improvement that uses mercury to increase efficiency by 4% but decreases life expectancy by 11%
And then it got approved

ikr, nobody would approve of something like that
Side note my work switched to a new brand of soap and it fucking obliterates my hands but I have to wash my hands every time I leave the kitchen, which is 10 times an hour
Because Covid outbreak
in the imperium life is so cheap its worthless
so it was a %4 gain with no loss in the eyes of everyone involved with the approval process
just like irl but to a greater extreme. at least i hope its an exaggeration lol
is it one of those soaps with the hard sand stuff in them
i loved that type of soap in workshops. it strips away all the dead skin so my pearly white skin can shine
It’s some generic industrial soap
so cheap
given the reputation of retirement homes the fact they even bother to ensure the health of the retirees inside means you work at one of the better ones
We had a Covid outbreak so we had to quarantine
this year?
But@like, only half of the sick residents got moved to quarantine zones
Yeah
oof, then I can understand the measures they take
Shockingly all the residents in the more expensive halls were completely removed of sick residents
And are also always severed first
The lower cost hallway is right next to the quarantine zone
And gets served last
I hate my job it’s so demoralizing
yeah. we live in a world where the mega rich are full on bond villains and building doomsday bunkers and planning to move to mars. not even joking
mfw i survive nuclear armageddon but my money is worthless
My favorite resident got sick so I’m really bummed about it
oof
I am immune to the negative effects of radiation
you didnt mention positive effects so I assume you get superpowers from gamma band radiation
the good thing is. the ones in the bunkers aint gona survive and likely die the most horrible deaths and the ones looking to go to mars are just a space station will likely meet the same fate
Third arm could be useful
Oh yeha doesn’t south Europe still have a shit load of radiation in their fruit
From Chernobyl
a lot of things are radioactive just by default. hell potassium is. small amounts of radiation is fine
where's south europe?
I’ll have to look it up
they'll survive i bet. these rich people have a lot of people doing the thinking for them. thing is though, they're also being conned into building these mega million construction projects that they probably won't even get the chance to use
life is a parody of fiction
I’m American so only our fish are full of radiation
you could say the state of california itself is a known carcinogen due to the massive deposits of uranium ore in the ground
oh even if the bunkers get used. people will just clog the airducts if they dont get clogged just from the detritus
Also the us dumped radioactive material near native reserves in Alaska
we rely a lot on specialized workforce to run the society now, any kind of "doomsday bunker" scenario and the quality of life will never be the same
Okay my bad it’s mainly blueberries in Europe that have radiation
I’ll need to watch that video essay again
north american governments respect native land challenge (impossible)
I imagine they will leave the bunkers to see the world regressed back to 19th century
the immediate issue if they survive would be paying the workers of their bunkers
Shout out to when the reserves in Idaho got raided by the atf because they were legally selling tobacco
because the bunkers in question are literally just for 1 person or a small family
oh those are just the small ones
I don’t even fuckinh know what was going on then
these's massive ones that we know of and probably even more
damn this reminds me of threads the movie
they probably have gated communities hidden in nz or bahamas with all kinds of services prepared
when the government emergency council gets buried under the city's town hall
that is how detached the upper elite have become. they are living in a movie and we all pay the price for their delusions
lots of extremely cheap land in rural areas of the world too. not to mention very private by remoteness
you should watch that movie it's on youtube for free. a very terrifyingly realistic depiction of nuclear war
it's sort of a documentary but of course it's also intentionally made to scare the shit out of you
the day after has the same premise but it's american and doesn't have the documentary aspect
both free on youtube
Yea I mean finish what’s left
i would love Tarellians as minis
look at this goober bro
But like, if we get a new faction
I would prefer a xenos over another imperium faction
Maybe something hyper elite
Like….
ZOATS
I love centaurs so much pls give us a centaur faction
I think that adding a new faction of any type right now would be pretty dumb, considering how many of the existing factions are desperately in need of new models and support, however multiple leaks from the same people who leaked that Squats would be coming back have mentioned a new Xenos faction being released at some point in 2024, so it's very likely to happen at this point.
yeah factions are also just hard to update
especially when one group of asshats hogs the attention

Like the obvious one is Drukhari, they need so much support that it's kind of ridiculous, but even for Imperium factions the Grey Knights are also in kind of a similar situation where basically all of their models are older firstborn kits, so next to the new Primaris scale Marines they look small and goofy.
men of iron
The problem is 60% of them are the imperium
Feels too close to admech tbh

you think so?
in terms of models i could see men of iron being a big thing
The man of irons we do have look a bit too admechy
Also fun fact you can run men of iron in Necromunda
that's because that man of iron is literally in an admech robot
and he looks badass
God he’s so cool
Forgor
Crazy how the ai are completely fine when you treat them like people
Imperial fans coping that everyone is gonna have an AI rebellion when they dont wanna accept that you dont need servitors to be a functional society

We NEED the door servitor tho

I wish we get eldar ai tbh
I was hearing there was a theory where the Votaan are the result of MoI actually winning in a revolt and cleansing any remaining fleshy kin of what happened from memory
Dunno how much merit it has
But its a little interesting
Vending machine Servitor. Doorbell Servitor
mfs when the icecream servator is broken

also the fact gulliman is a gamer will eternally be in my mind
this gregorian monk cover of the halo ost is just too good
Official votann lore has them leaving with the ancestor cores well before the men of iron iirc
Its possible though, we don't actually know much about the men of iron
I think the votann around M10 and the Men wars were around m21
I’m planning making all my first born into HH, just not sure what legion
Iron warriors, death guard are my top atm
Or Raven maybe
you gotta pick your aesthetic
it’s so hard
DO IT
Make them drip legion

Dilara do you know of this Holywood Heresy thing
Hollywood had like so many civil wars i lost count
Paul Hollywood is the real leader of the GBBO
Death to the (Dunno the name of the other person that present it) Emperor

My choices are th less ordinate chapters since I’ll just be scrapping off the inquillas and head swaps
Use headphones for better experience c:

the language alone, my friends, was a big reason i got so deep into warhammer
name me one place where you regularly find quotes like the machine spirit whispers of blood and death
anyone have any 40k games on steam to play? or would help me get into warhammer?
Have you ever heard about this rather unknown game called Darktide?
Rogue trader, darktide, space marine, the Dawn of wars(save 3)
Mechanicus
I absolutely recommend Total Warhammer even if 3 isnt in the best state like 2
but who are you
I mean kind the fault of their no AI policy

are you the big willy on this server
what
I think it's in a black library book that on one Ark Mechanicus they started treating the menials not as slaves and production went up and the mechanicus couldn't figure out why
honestly there´s a lot of things in 40k that just doesn´t make any sense and just seems to be there to put some extreme cruelty into the setting
like for example in that one darktide cutscene where hadron says "you´re 3 seconds too late....recruits have been executed for less"
like ok i guess it might have been a humorous thing the developers put in, but it´s not far off
It is indeed grimdark
the thing is, fair punishment has a very important function in society, and that is if it´s too cruel (or too lenient), there will be no reason not to try to avoid punishment (aka keeping order) anymore, because you´ll be killed even if you try to live up to impossible stndards
meaning that if you truly did kill menials for such simple things, they would just do whatever they want anyway and not try to follow order.
Thats basically the point yeah.
the Imperium is not suppose to be "functioning" normally or make any snese
they exist to create the doom of their own planets and its destructions
NO treachery and heresy exists because the heretics are WRONG and have STRAYED AWAY FROM THE EMPERORS GUIDING LIGHT
A tad late, but I'll sat this again. The Imperium is purpose built by GW, they are quoted as saying this, to be the worst type of government imaginable. It is a grab bag of all the worst regimes of humanities history rolled into one terrible, tragic narrative. From its laws and culture, to the way every citizen is treated, even the most important of the imperium. Nobles have terrible lives as well. Nobody is free from misery in 40k, some just get dealt more than others. All of that also doesn't mention how the Imperium, with all these happening, is a dying animal backed into a corner by all that surrounds it, and lashes out at anything that gets close that's not itself, that's somehow other. It's a self annihilating cyclic system that inevitably will perpetuate unending war, the Great Game, and GW's sales. @crisp heath @storm jungle
🤣 true!!! Until then
Also, I might add, since it seems as if you may have this idea that rebellions don't happen due to Imperial Treatment:
In The Carrion Throne, such a rebellion happens. Doesn't end well cause they allied with the Inquisition against a common foe, and you never trust the inquisition. They were backstabbed. But prior to, iirc, they had put up a hell of a fight and it almost looked like they'd win what they were fighting for. In a follow up, Crowl is even quoted as saying the leader "Was a good man. But this galaxy hates good men."
In the Forge of Mars books, slaves of the Mechanicus on their ships rebelled against their treatment and actually won some concessions because one of their number was "blessed by the omnissiah."
Sebastian Thor successfully rebelled against the Imperium (or High Lord(s) Goge Vandire) - this ended the Age of Apostasy, led to the creation of the Sisters of Battle and to Thor becoming Ecclesiarch and Saint (and head in a box owned by Trazyn the Infinite).
Lufgt Huron rebelled against the Imperium after they denied his request to launch a Crusade into the Maelstrom - he then withheld taxes and gene-tithes in order to build the Crusade force anyway. Four Space Marine chapters seceded from the Imperium along with him (as he was Chapter Master of the Astral Claws), although he did ultimately fall to a bargain with Chaos and turn into a pirate lord, he started out more noble.
Krieg did a fairly bog standard secession from the Imperium - mainly just to improve the lives of the citizens at the top of the pile - but that didn't end very well (see: is a nuclear wasteland now).
And after Lord Solar Macharius died, his generals (who definitely weren't the Diadochi) split into warring factions, most of whom declared independence from the tyranny of Earth. Warmaster Solon sorted them all out.
So this idea that the citizenry just lie down and take it is a bit false.
@crisp heath
They just usually don't win and these usually end up being very minor events.
thanks for tagging me and i'm sure you are very wise but i'm not reading allat lmaooooo
When you make a bunch of stuff that require AI but cannot use AI, it is going to be a problem
ah yes when the Emperor decided to "Nerf this"
Skynet time
well we are still a bit in the "Dark" about the whole Skynet situation that caused the end of the Age of technology
but probably Big E already know what really caused the whole situation
lolleth at this though
Lol... @storm jungle bro why the fuck do people come to lore chat and expect to not be given lore to read... like that wasn't even that much... I'm bout to join the gatekeepers, it ain't worth helping this new breed out...
People when they have to read more than two sentences
People be like "sum up the entire horus heresy in under two sentences"
actually thats pretty easy
Daddy issues
Please behave

its 04:15 and im legit sleepless rn
This what tiktok does to the current generation
Thry cannot absorb any knowledge unless its made with twxt to speech with phonk music in the background, in a minute with minecraft parkour video to distract their eyes
Absolutely 0 attention span, and I'm part of that generation lol

I dont get my generation lol, and I even have ADHD
That's a big stick, I recommend taking it out of where the sun don't shine
40k fans when anyone expresses a slight interest in their hobby (They will be forced to read all of the 30+ books of the horus heresy)
Very true
For what its worth, i for one actually read through all that lmao
That was 6 paragraphs
He started out noble????
My dude Huron was legendarily arrogant
He isn't called the Tyrant of Badab because he wants to make everyone feel good
...he wanted to conquer a warp storm
My girlfriend had an interest in 40k, and I gave her a very brief synopsis of the parts I like, and needless to say, she never expressed an interest again lol
Yeah I'm sure the deal with chaos is where he got the title from lmao
No he was Actually just awful and hated mortals
the best part of the lore is in Ravenor where the birds aren't real
The Maelstrom Warders in general were pretty big on the astartes supremacy thing
Probably except for the lamenters?
I gotta ask which parts you shared lol
Mostly just like a really basic framework of the universe, a little bit of the imperium, and then mostly orks because theyre my favorite faction
they're just silly little goobers
How dare she not have some more interest after hearing about the Orks
Like c'mon, silly cockney accented big green boys that power war machines with imagination is awesome
Oh hell yeah
Why theys call it a boxin ring if da thing isn’t even a stupid ring? It’s a STUPID square!
Did she talk about what parts of the 40k setting made her interested?
it's difficult to get people past the different shades of space fash
40k fans also retain one massive flaw
true
Which is inability to be concise and constant over explanation of stuff that doesn't matter
I swear some of us are decent
That people get really emotionally invested in a fictional faction?
Oh I made it super bare bones because I didnt want to scare her off lol
Like I know more people that take 40k more seriously than actual history lol
people read books, play the games, get invested in the universe, and build up their own headcanon
and it's slightly different from the other guys headcanon
and that guy is wrong
Okay but
cue slapfight
They don't do the first 3 things
I am not one of those people
They do maybe the 2nd thing
Like im an ork fan, theres very little of lore, which is what I like to an extent lol
Majority of fans just stare at memes and develop a weird head canon from the 40k fandom telephone game
just having the time of their livess
Like the "orks can will everything into existence" schtick
That one i don't blame the fans that much because gw's way of explaining how that power work was
Or anything about anyone
true
Honestly quite sloppy
its very nuanced
All it said is if enough of them believe something it becomes true
About as nuanced as me chopping my hand off with a cleaver
but its a very interesting way to make their faction stick out
And they didn't place a hard limit on that
I mean the things it can and cant ddo
Oh yeah definitely
It gets weird once they start throwing weird boyz into the mix
those people are very wrong
It's fundamentally misunderstood
I'd have people read Ghaz's book, outlines it really nicely
Yeah, it outlines nicely that it doesn't fucking work
The Orks just think it does
But to them this isn't a factor, if they think it's true, objective fact is irrelevant
Doesn't their belief make things work better, but won't just make something outright work?
Its like "reality lubricant"
It's reality glue for their tech and a handwave
makes things more plausible that wouldnt otherwise
Yes if enough of them believe that that gun will shoot even though that gun is not built well then it will still shoot but if they believe that gun will kill god it won't kill god it will just get stronger
They need something to make their believe work off of
You need blue paint to be luckier
Or like have more bullets than it should
You need red paint to be faster something like that
my friend, have you got any idea the day that i had? i'm not gonna read 50 pages of critical theory in warhammer AND go on to discuss it AT 2 AM too. and then get called a tiktok kid for it lmfao, i'm probably older than most of you.
It has to actually be bought by the general populace
It doesn't matter if it works
Very understandable
I just love them slapping together random shit and having it be spacefaring capable lol
Ork psychic power fields only work to them
I just love how bloody adaptable orks are
And their own psychic power comes from them
nothing gets em down
like what the fuck is this. i'm an adult with real and serious problems in my life.
Why do you think they are a canvas for home brew and stuff
You could do a lot of things with them and not break character
Nah you don't understand, if someone doesn't align with them exactly they're a dumb kid
Apparently
I do have issues with paying attention with stuff but i can read
It's not that hard
I will comment on the irony of calling someone childish then discussing the dealings of funny space men in bright colours
blue space men bad
I don't even like old world as much anymore
Gw bring it back after slamming it to the concrete did not help
I'm digging old world rn
In brutal kunnin, theres a section from a daemon explaining how much the dark gods hate orks because they just dont need them for anything
Yeah Orks literally just exist in the galaxy because of a oversight of the old ones
They dont even need to interact with the warp much beyond killin some daemons because itss never boring
and I'm glad they do
Only khorne gets something out of them
Barely
Yeah that's all there is to it
Fight after finishing fight get things to be better at fighting or do things for fun
Fight
Repeat process until you might die or become the best
khorne needs the blood to be spilled for something or someone I believe
yeah and the fact that gork and mork are just randomly Fortnite dancing around the warp doesn't also help their opinion of the orks
And we love em for it
A khorne daemon in Brutal Kunnin' says that orks don't give anything to Chaos
It all goes to Gork n Mork
Then they can get used to it or fight em like Gods (they wont)
maybe khorne might, but for the most part they cant be too distracted from the great game
yeah the most orks have given Khorne is Tuska
But that's just for entertainment
but tuska being corrupted isn't out of the equation of course
and I mean, he's probably having a grand ol time
are you for real right now?
I think we can pretty safely drop this topic, it isnt going anywhere productive
Can yall not do this please.
this is not about me not reading a few paragraphs of your stupid text, it's about your insulted ego at this point
I swear if this goes into an argument I will suplex the both of you into fuckin hell
Knock it off.
this guy is aggressive towards me because i didn't read his cute little text after telling him i'm literally going through a traumatic event that i had today at 2am. i submit a complaint.
Ghost unless your next message is going to be you conceding from this argument I don't suggest you to post anything else.
:I
i have serious academic work to do in addition to everything else that's going on in my life, i'm sorry i'm not feeding your tiny boy ego
Not just regular mundane hell, fuckin' hell
i have literally said here that i had a terrible day, and that's a huge understatement
i would like an apology
Ghost im fucking serious, I'm going to ban you.
Knock it the fuck off, seriously.
you are genuinely testing my patience with this shit
The amount of times I've seen a constructive conversation devolved into an argument in this place has made me ******* annoyed that this happens way too regularly
i'm gonna have to call my husband now, how am i supposed to sleep after being treated like that
I am siding with no one here I'm just telling the both of you to knock it off even the mod does
Drop it or take it to DMs please.
Go talk it out in the DMs if you have to
otherwise last warning, ill time you both out
i'm just gonna assume that you have autism or some other sort of social disorder. good night.
...
Learn to just know that sometimes people cant read messages and that you can ignore their statements.
That's it.
yeahhhh got old pretty fast
Then you are free to leave.
sir this is not an airport all due respect, said you were gonna leave. leave, don't try and kick dust up just cause at this point
Can we go back to chaos orks now?
Chaos orks are a cool concept
People being unable to have civil discussions in general but especially in 40k is crazy to me
sure
Khorne stomboyz are pretty disciplined and well trained
Maybe a little weird but you know, pretty orky
imagine having to krump for one of them chaos gits and not jus' cause you like to
on the other hand
but of course no one likes them but
both
I'd love to see a book from the POV of a chaos ork
Do you guys think orks could use chaos weaponry, armor, and equipment with lesser risk of picking up corruption-itis?
but since its xenos and not bolterporn, we never will
probably
they usually take whatever items seem neat or interesting to them
they dont need bargains of power lol
they're psychic field will probably ward off the corruption
they'll likely take a daemon sword just because its killy
They can literally enter the warp and pretty much be safe most of the time because they literally ignore the whispers
So they just get cool glowy stuff to use nice
They'z annoyin'
and they'll straight up fist fight daemons
because they're way more fun and unpredictable than most other fights
its terrifying when you see ships going into the eye of terror
and willingly trying to attract daemonic attention
I really think orks are a great solution to chaos
Honestly most xenos are a good solution to Chaos: Orks, Necrons, Tyranids, even Tau
with only the minor side effect of you have to deal with a ton of beefed up orks high off of a victory against immortal beings, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there
various factions exploit this, and everyone wins
well, except for the guys the orks are facing
Obligatory Chaos Ork meme
Tau not so much now, after spending a good chunk of their time in this Galaxy their souls are beginning to develop more now
Farsight is a good example
probably on par with things like hive fleet kronos or other dedicated anti-chaos forces
Khorne is corrupting him
ye
True true
He's doing a good job of holding it back though
Ohh yeah definitely
Bruh cant have anything good in this here universe
The grim dark fetish of GW is absolutely funny
It makes Farsight a little more interesting, though I already do find him interesting
He deals with it well
He just needs to cleanse the daemon out
oh yeah he does
Out of his sword IIRC
Was it the sword?
I thought it was
I thought it was just general exposure
It probably is then
I believe the sword is just xenos in origin, and its only caveat is that it steals lifespan from those it defeats, he'd probably commit suicide if he learned the truth
Why would he? He's already killed whatever he defeated, most likely
Yeah it is xenos origin but I think the reason he got khorne's attention is because he used the sword to kill chaos demons
Does that makes him immortal?
I guess
practically
And he’s the only tau that can melee
it's some alien the dark angels killed so GW can really do whatever they want with it.
I can’t wait for more farsight
Everyone in enclaves can do that
And if it steals the lifespan, isn't it a permakill for daemons?
But it’s xenos so I shouldn’t hope
Because they're actually developing melee weapons
Wait if he kills daemons which are practically immortal
Or sorry, that’s more willing to melee
Isnt he now immortal?
That actually has studied and worked on the practice
Only from age
It's not really expanded upon
He can be shot by any old schmuck
this type of explanation is why people believe that orks have the ability to bend reality
He just gets years on his lifespan
Yeah from something that cannot age like an ork or a daemon it's hard to tell
but things would set lifespans it's just safe to assume that he would just get the lifespan
Yeah so now he has the lifespan of a daemon, which is infinity, but doesnt stop him from getting vibe checked
Pretty much, doesn’t matter
Gotcha
Maybe
Remember Daemons don't have a physical body
So in the 1st place maybe the sword didn't even absorb it
It might just straight up not work since they don’t really have a lifespan
And their essence would return to the warp unless the sword absorbed that in which case that is a bad idea
Or maybe he's absorbing some sweet chaos essence
Absorbing anything chaos is always a bad idea
Chaos Tau
They can be possessed
It’s possible
Only by direct exposure though
