They turned out fine tbh
Oh yeah for sure
Still rich and they're militaristic anyway
they felt their gun production was more important
Terra will flat kill you or force you into penal service.
There's a fun tidbit about them where they're actually very sexist
Mars will do this to you

"There is no truth in flesh, only betrayal.
There is no strength in flesh, only weakness.
There is no constancy is flesh, only decay.
There is no certainty in flesh but death."

Having a massive preference for Firstborn sons, only really accepting men until the events of "Firstborn Daughter"
Fan made but accurate af
so yeah i can fully understand why they would rather risk terra's wrath over mar's
100% lol
Fair point
this is why i love valhallans. no backstory about not helping the imperium like krieg and vostroyans, just a bunch of space russians who really hate orks
I mean, I love the krieg backstory, I just hate how writers then turn around and make them into extrachromosomal idiots who have zero tactics, awareness, or sociability at all...
Like... I love the idea of them, I just hate how they're written 95% of the time
Like, there's one scene where a krieger finally takes off his mask in front of a group of normal soldiers, and this is after multiple battles of them seeing this dude do the most batshit insane charges. And they finally get a good look at his face, and it's a kid. Maybe barely a teen. And these soldiers learn that almost all Kriegers are that young because they simply won't live long lives due to their lifestyles now. Their society is basically a lord of the flies situation now.
And it's both sad and metal af
And then they go right back to being idiots again...
krieg field marshal living to the ripe old age of 30
Yea. And that's old af for them
it's funny though. valhallans are supposed to be the ones all about dying for the cause but krieg gets all that attention
It's the masks
krieg doesnt even specialize in infantry
i think people just assume the siege of vraks is what krieg always does
Nah, the whole motif of krieg is world War two. They're all about trench and tunnels warfare, it's why they literally carry shovels
No... it's literally their specialty
It's part of why they're so small
Krieg is ww1
siege warfare
static warfare
its the steel legion that is the ww2 style blitzkrieg
It might be 1 that I mean... you're not wrong
well whatever. people should still give valhallans more love
I agree lol
maybe if they looked german people would love them more
Hell, they're so underloved I barely inow much about them
its funny when you think about it. the whole of the guard is based on static warfare so all krieg is is a regiment that is somewhat better at it and has better kit for hazardous regions
guard regiments fight very differently from one another
cadia which afaik forms the basic template for most guard regiments is all about static warfare
That's basically their whole kit and cabudle though. They're the trench and tunnel guys who can get into places normal people can't or wouldn't go. They are the only regiments which are always given equipment for those purposes
that's just GW's bullshit reason for why they only sell cadia models
in the books you see all sorts of guard regiments
Talking about Kreig
Cadians are badass because their planet is Australia on radioactive steroids
thats Catachan
Oh yeah my bad... mixed the two up
Lol fuck... idk why cadia was so bad ass. I mean I know about their whole last stand, but I don't know why them specifically were so brave or if there was any specific historic reason.
Pretty sure they were just built different
just look at elysian drop troops for example. definitely not a regiment that favors static warfare
You see all sorts of guard regiments even within a single world's exports
even though they look like cadians
they where the frontline in the war with the arch-enemy for literally 8k years
Yeah cadians lived and breathed drills and duty
GW sells them. that's it
lol
they represent the astra militarum
yeah
which is annoying
they were assembling and disassembling guns by age 3
They lived in fortresses, not cities
City blocks were just bunker complexes
Every bakery doubles as a casemate, same as every school, bar, warehouse
the cadians are the ultramarines of the imperial guard sadly
But that can be said about quite a few fortress worlds
armageddon steel legion are more fun cadians and kriegers
Of which Cadia was the foremost example
Fair enough...
literally all other regiments are more fun than cadians im sorry but their quirks are not interesting at all
They also provided an obscene number of cadians to serve off world
oooh they're born with purple eyes
yeah. no other fortress world was literally holding back the tides of hell
adds capes to cadians
Immediately more interesting
🤣 💀
lol
literally their entire shtick is they fight well
Catachans will always be the studs of the militarum, no need for anyone else to really try let's be honest
its no joke like that one fort in diablo. the one outside the mountain where the worldstone use to be. only actually respected kekw
writers acting like kids knowing how guns work is special in a galaxy where underhives have babies selling crack to pay rent
that's what im saying
you just described Miami kekw
it's not even that special that cadians are taught from birth
a ton of regiments do it
It's really not lol
yeah afaik thats only common on the fortress worlds
and afaik Cadia is like the first fortress world and the template for all the others
Idk about first, but it definitely held the most strategically important position
it had the macguffin
And had the most experience for the others to base off because of it
it was a black ship
it also set right on the cadian gate which is the only stable passage out of the eye of terror
That thing
another macguffin
so for chaos to get out they had to go past Cadia
and i guess there just isnt any info on the first fortress world to be made :/
hell there's barely any info on the other black crusades
did you know that cadia was once ullanor?
wild shit
writers smoking good shit when they write this
Nah, there wouldn't be. That info is to particular to the Great crusades and shite. Besides, if records actually existed in 40k, they're likely so far buried at this point its literally impossible to retrieve, as you are likely talking about the earliest periods of he emperors expansion into the stars
A Fortress World is a category of Imperial planet where the entire populace is immersed in warfare. They are created as bastions against some threat. The most well known fortress world was Cadia, which was guarding the Cadian Gate at the entrance to the Eye of Terror.[Needs Citation] In bureaucratic matters classifications of Research Stations a...
all the unknowns is just wild lol
That was Armageddon
the mechanicus yeeted it to a new system iirc
Yep
its easy to forget just how fucking broken some human tech still is
So from what I am understanding pertaining to the Inquisition's "you can't know about daemons/Chaos" enforcing, it's become pointless after the Cicatrix Maledictum.
Probably
like the admech are sitting on some truely god level tech and they are not afraid to use it
That wouldn't go wrong ever thats for sure
im purposefully holding back on reading ork stuff so i can binge it all one day
I mean they're afraid to look for some of it, there's giant data mazes below the factory which are literally haunted and eat expeditions on the regular
This is facts. But so is the imperium. What's locked under the vault on terra would shake every factions knees
Hey, I'm sorry for interrupting something here, and changing the topic, but I wish to ask something that has been on my mind. Why is it exactly that the Blood Ravens Space Marine Chapter are exactly hated by the community?
They're hated?
they even have a primordial god down there
They're pretty popular afaik
That is what I've been hearing and seeing.
First I'm hearing of it
Their books fucking suck though
they're not hated afaik, they are just memed because of the kleptomania
This is true^
it's a joke. they steal shit
i still cant believe the blood ravens are canon lol
They're the protags of the Dawn of War fames by relic
they're called ravens but they act like magpies
No no, the hate doesn't seem to be directed at that. I don't know what exactly, but not the stealing thing.
like. they full on dont know how their primarch is
Maybe you mean the hate for Dawn of War 3, which was bad
gabriel angelos is decent
that doesnt exist what do you mean? /s
Case in point
Probably. I hear it was bad but I don't know how bad
both in the family of corvidae yet not descendents of raven guard
It's playable but very different from both previous games in a bad way
it took everything bad about dow1 and made it worse while keeping only some of the good
same with dow2 in a smaller extent
They had some amazing knights and models but that's about where the good bits end lol
ye
So the story was bad itself as well?
Oh yeah
yes
Oh dear
yeah in 3 it was awful
soul drinkers dont either
I wouldn't say any worse than dawn of war 1?
Like what am I dealing with when bad?
hey winter war was great
But the game ends with an eldar, Ork and marine not killing eachother and leaving
Wut
have you played 2 and retribution?
Yes
preposterous
its nothing like those
Though the final dialogue of the game does lift it a bit
"At least I got me pointy stick"
....I was really hoping to see Sargent Merrick again from Retribution
also the space marine and the eldar leave the spear of khaine or something with the ork
That guy was a legend of a guardsman
afaik, the canon ending for retribution was the one for the eldar campaign
I wonder when we'll get an rpg like the Witcher or Skyrim or the like for 40k, something less top down and more modern first person
btw i think i need to mention that literally all soul drinkers died and cawl still sent primaris to the chapter
Gaben Angelos Newel was pretty awful in 3, which is a downgrade from "generic", like in the last 2 games
how did that work? did they just pick somebody at random to be chapter master?
no it was the SM one because Angelos is chapter master and has a mostly bionic body in 3
Yeah more or less
which is the SM ending for ret
it's really funny when you think about all the new marines barely knowing eachother and trying to find books about their chapter
"so you're the boss I guess, these guys are all dead, and the chapter records have been destroyed, what the hell do we do now?"
"Wing it I guess"
Lol what else is there to do but start over
how was the whole chapter not declared as such?
like more than half of the blood ravens followed the heretic Khyrus
thats still better than black templars gunning down their primaris reinforcements
Lol for once I'd like to see cawl set loose and just allowed to do whatever he wants. Just one book where he's allowed to be the crazy mad scientist his artificial hearts truly wants to be lol
isnt he like already one step away from being declared an arch-heretek?
literally all chapters got primaris it's super funny. even the completely dead ones like soul drinkers
I hear the lamenters had some but they were missing a few of their reinforcements.
so yeah him going balls to wall would likely push him over the edge
as much as that sucks
ye
whens the last time the eldar and tau had a proper fight
Im surprised those two havent united against tyranids or chaos or something
Well, there's a misconception there. Tau don't "unite". You either conform and join a chaste, or they war with you. They might spend time on diplomacy to get you to see the benefits if joining, but ultimately if you choose not to, they view it as you have chosen to go against the Greater Good, their entire creed.
Hey you know the Tau have a god now right?
And none of the factions of the Eldar would do so.
I don't think Tau castes apply to other races?
i didn't even know those blue animals had enough of a warp presence to create a deity
xenos aside from the current big ticket one dont get much love in the lore department sadly
It was mostly auxiliaries iirc
Yeah but the castes don't apply to them
They don't. From what I hear. They had an expeditionary fleet test out new warp engines same as the imperium uses, BUT WITHOUT A GELLAR FIELD. The auxiliary though prayed hard enough and just...created a god!
Those are biological lines within the Tau as a race
They don't? My bad I could be wrong there
@nothingtoseehere thats a bit off the mark but close enough.
hallelujah finally a god of greater good
oh wait it's just tzeench
Yeah I know, but I am just overlysimplifying it.
It was the auxiliaries, mostly humans, that created the deity.
Cause I figured good enough for a complex issue.
@frosty kiln Right right
didnt the human auxiliaries of the tau end up making a warp god of the greater good?
Iirc it was rushed out by the ethereals despite earth caste warnings, and it worked in tests
What caused the fuck up was all of them going off at once
It was most auxiliaries I think
They treated the Greater Good far more like a religion than the Tau
So it, did that I guess
All the auxiliaries played a part. That's why the god looks like a Mashup of all of them.
what does the greater good god want
It's seemingly pretty benevolent
But the humans joining, with their added warp presence, was what made it happen
From what I remember
that thing has to be ugly as sin then lol
Not really
It's supposedly beautiful.
Looks like an eastern god with a lot of arms
still feels like tau are one bad week away from experiencing the true hell of the universe
I feel like that's by design
so the bugs and worms(?) didnt endd up in the mix?
or being obliterated by ai
They develop faster but suffer catastrophe faster, ykno?
@plush mason
it would be very funny if all this time GW was building up their lore just to crush them
Think something like this.
Last I checked they were being beset by the forces of Nurgle as well. With shadowsun nearly getting killed or some such.
there is this one tau auxiliary race that iirc no one has seen and they never leave their ships
@plush mason the main body was tau, and each of the arms was an arm of an auxiliary species
ah
OH HEY! Speaking of Tau and Dawn of War! Remember that Tau leader from Dark Crusade? He is canon as well! Guess what as well! He apparently kills a bunch of Space marine terminators and solos a space marine monastery !
so abotu this race. do the tau themselves even know what they look like?
THE DARK CRUSADE AAAAH
I don't know why. I am oversimplifying it, but yes.
I think it isn't clear if it's the same Kais?
i wonder if some inquisitor looks at the tau systems every so often and says "oh they're still alive" before going off to drink coffee
Also the protag of fire warrior is also Kais
No. Not Fire Warrior. Dark Crusade Leader had a book with him in it.
And he...kills a space marine chapter master
and solos a monastery
Oh yeah, doesn't that get orchestrated by the DA because those marines were causing problems?
how strong are the etherial combat wise? i remember in DOW1 they where weak as hell but made the rest of the army stronger
Typically they're scary psychics
But there's one who's a horrifying melee fighter
And got kidnapped to fight in Commoragh
guy's got the Aristotle finger
the fact tau have hoves still weirds me out for some reason
🤣
i still dont get where the fish idea came from
They are land manatees
who looks at tau and thinks fish
Because Gundams
GUNDAM
im just posting these for the faces
are these videos
see. very aquatic looking
you cant just post those images and not elaborate
you think khorne likes eversor assassins more than he does khorne marines
the thumbnails of them yes
what videos i wanna see why everybody hates tau
i just googled "warhammer 40k tau" and went to the images
damn those images are the first to pop up
The Cau Empire
yes. and they are from onemindsyndicate so yeah. im not watching them
Alien cow. But cow all the same
im not even seeing these images on my results wtf is up with your algorithm
Bro. Aliens
yes and the greys as they are often called are literally aquatic lol
who even is this guy
first time i've heard of him
there is also the matter of the fact most tau vehics are literally named after fish
a YTer that just reads the wiki
ah
tau do have pretty punchable faces tbh
the no nose thing really does it for me
like this is probably the most annoying face i've ever seen and i can't explain why
not many people are when you realize how many people hate them
granted they're also the only faction you could pass off as being from any other sci fi setting
their new minis look good at least
oh so i saw this a while ago and it just poped into my head. but the space wolves dont have wolf skull on anything
they have racoon skulls
Interesting
why is this a wikihow article
Ah yes the cow murdering device
is there a wikihow article on how to kill cows
the meat industry is telling me to kill xenos...
the 40k boltgun is actually an improved version of the gyro-rocket gun that was made irl
Tau are canonically descended from plains-dwelling prey animals (their teeth are described as wide and tombstone shaped, like grazing teeth). Their ancestor was the equivalent of earth’s antelope, cow, or other ungulate.
They are descendents of herbivores. Being omnivorous is a recent development for them. So yes, they are more closely related to whatever their planet's "cow" would be than they would be to any other analogous animal from Earth.
So they are omnivorous cow people. And even when they were still living in a primitive state, they almost certainly still got the vast bulk of their nutrition from plant based sources.
These are based on findings of the Imperial survey team that originally cataloged the planet of T'au. They determined the native sapient species was a descendent from local plain dwelling herbivores, obviously turned omnivore at some point.
Tau are not an aquatic species, nor does their religion or culture revolve around aquatics. The names we know their vehicles by are, to my knowledge, the names the Imperium has translated when they made contact with the Tau's Water Caste, which is their diplomatic caste. Also, many of the names are based on how the vehicles move or behave, as in an airship manta uses its wings to glide and coast.
@plush mason
I know that's alot
doesnt it eject shells and have a bolt
bolt=2 stage-gyro-rocket
the gun that was so useless it coudln't even hit the broad side of a barn?
it wasnt that bad, it was just really weak
yes the shell is the first stage and only to propell the round out of the barrel
the gyrojet would fly everywhere
it was self stabilizing
it doesnt work at that scale
once out of the barrel the on-board rocket motor will fire and propell the round down-range
isnt that more like a stinger missile then
yes. they are small missiles
is there a canon diagram for a bolters internals
Imperial propaganda/tutorial for how to handle certain blueskinned xenos
yeah i wasnt saying they are aquatic. only that they look it sorry
Ah gotcha gotcha
I thought the tau fish thing came from their vehicle names
Part of it does, but I addressed that a bit as well
yeah thats the main source of it
Down at the bottom of my chapter 🤣
idk and i doubt it
GW wouldnt care enough to make one
youd think they would just because its vaguely related to space marines
they are also British and have like 0 gun culture
bolters are supposed to be these sacred weapons yet every guard regiment has some shitty used up heavy bolter
This sadly
Though honestly I doubt it's super complicated
Shooting big rounds
it looks like a really weird shaped blowback pistol tbh
thats how it seems to work in darktide too
40k writers keep saying autoguns are caseless while they're clearly shooting brass cartridges and ejecting empty shells
it doesnt need much of a barrel due to the round being self-propelled
the bolter that is
no clue why the long las needs a bigger barrel lmao
my idea is there's more lenses in them
or the lenses are more set apart to play with the focal points
rule of cool. sniper rifles have long barrels so most people just expect a laser one to have one too
bolters having rifle variants is funny too
the stalker patter kekw
and like. why does the stalker bolter exist when the SM snipers dont even use them?
idk what the stalker even is
i guess it fills a more DMR role
OK, taking these two side by side, which seems to be a pretty good comparison, you can see that in all fairness they are quite simple weapons. You have a slide, a safety, normal mag with spring, foregrip, and gas tubes above and below the barrel
eliminators just use long barrel bolters
it is
and its ultramarine exclusive iirc
Maybe an ammo dispenser for that bottom tube
youd think like, having a stock would be more important for that but whatever
that's not a safety it's a mag release
that's straight up a piece of metal
old lore i bet
big fan of the front sight blocking the scope
primaris use shitty looking bolt carbines
Could be wrong there but that would only simplify it further
and astartes models are physically incapable of looking down scopes so GW just says they're linked to their helmets
its those dumbass pauldrons
the scope?
i guess that makes sense
i always found the idea of space marines just hipfiring all the time to be way cooler
you dare insult the trademarked ©️™️®️ pauldrons ©️®️™️
"Who needs it when they always charge at me"
like if they cant even raise their guns up to aim how can they climb?
games workshop, kill this man
thats just shit armor design
But it do look dope
ye
but clearly GW agrees the pauldrons where too big for most of the armors as the most recent stuff is way smaller than it use to be
Lol I mean, we're finally getting half decent games and talks of live action. If they ever wanted that to work, dudes gonna have to be able to lift their arms
MAXED PAULDRONS
🤣 💀
space marine cosplayers make it work, so can hollywood
Dude... have you seen those poor cosplayers?
Like I love their dedication but come on lol
all im saying is that i would pay to see cavill in one of those
if you want a simple cosplay just wear valhallan gear
and imo the iconic part of the pauldrons is the fact they are just one solid piece
longcoats my beloved
Whatchu talking bout simple. You want simple? YOU WANT SIMPLE???
you just need a trenchcoat, a ushanka and a towel tied to you with a rope
Get chu a diaper, a Roman helmet, and a fresh ass stance boi
thats cool but can i replace the towel and ushanka with a stahlhelm and gas mask
and not in the steel legion way
i dont have enough drip to be a custodian
ok but you'll look like a nerd
God i hope so
and good luck getting a good gas mask
Wanna know who won't look like a nerd?
i need everyone to know about my unhealthy obsession with ww1
people died in a war so you could fantasize about owning the gear that killed them
.... yes...
I mean, the only person getting killed by a flare gun is the one standing inbetween me and it
And jews died in the holocaust so people could collect Hitler memorabilia... anybody can get mad over history bro...
Let people enjoy their stuff
you never know there might be flare gun ghosts
you can kill someone with a flare gun easy
Don't even really need the gun part
especially if its a phosphorous flare
A flare is deadly in its own
if a flare is killing someone its probably not the fire thats doing it
soft metal
no way they made it of aluminum
its burning magnesium
no i mean the gun
i guess its steel then
see now you have a blunt instrument
One, the smoke is toxic. Two, the flame burns hotter than almost anything and will immediately melt your skin, though that likely won't kill you instantly. What will, is the high amount of toxicity in the wound, especially if it is actually pressed against you at any point.
You'll likely go into sepsis fast
lead is more toxic than magnesium and i dont think anyone whos been shot dies of lead poisoning lol
It wint be necessary instantly, but it'll be quick and very painful
plus a flare isnt in contact with your skin for long enough to burn it
@primal kettle actually plenty have...
in the moment or like 30 years after they were shot
is this like the gamma ray gun that gives you cancer
depends on if they got all the lead out
haha now your children will grow up fatherless
if they didnt the person will die of lead posioning within weeks
@primal kettle https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4001953/
A whole study on the fear of the rise in lead poisoning due to heightened violence in colombia
america lol
thats Columbia. so close lol
the website is from the US government
Lol do you wanna get shot, leave the bullet in and test the theory?
please dont
i regularly eat my leaded solder so im immune to bullets
im more worried about shock and blood loss killing me than lead poisoning
besides im pretty close to flint so thats gotta be like, a vaccination
🤣 💀
Implying i drink
That Obama press shit, where he acted like he drank that water was fucking golden
it was a classic
the water's fine just has a few healthy minerals
Like no politics, that was funny
anyways speaking of 40k lore, is there a lore reason behind the bolter in darktide being semi when you ADS and full auto when hip fired
or is it just borderlands dahl "it just does that"
dont ya know that romans put lead in their wine? can't believe how privileged people are these days
first it's the lead free water then it's the asbestoss free housing
We shouldn't even really be using it AFAIK, so it's probably a way for them to handle the "lore" recoil in game
when will it end
its a 3-round burst in hip and i think its just your character swaping it into single when aiming
the guard uses bolters all the time
standard kit for their weapons teams
i thought the minimum you could fire was 2
also yeah space marine bolters and guard bolters are different
not that standard
its one of the options you can take for your gunners on tabletop
officers sure but not a regular guardsman
@plush mason I thought that was rare and only for the ones that had "proven" themselves. They had specially crafted human sized ones made for them
remember the bolter is a gyro-rocket so it doesnt have much propellent int he first stage casing so its recoil is not as bad as a normal bullet that size would be
But I didn't think the regular guard just got handed them
heavy bolters are very common though
i think it depends on regiment
because they are crew served
and vehicles use them a ton
ye
at least as far as tabletop goes its regiment dependant
catachan cant take them iirc
Vehicles aren't men... things can be mounted to a vehicle no human could ever hold
Like every turret ever
ye
catachan say otherwise
Krieg can take a ton of bolters on tabletop
Catachan isn't a barometer to judge others off of
but a heavy bolter is a fucking bushmaster where as the simple bolter is just a .75 caliber
bushmasters are 25mm btw
they're all the same caliber
nah
yes
the bolters that guard and sisters use are way smaller than the ones SM and custodes use
That's like saying a 50 cal sniper round and a 50 cal pistol bullet are the same...
@green loom you lied
Bout what
For reference the difference
bolter calibers
i think its more apt to say that its similar to a m1919 vs a M2 browning
I frankly don't event remember what I said
same general design and principal, ones just scaled up
me neither
My point is things can have similar names and be very differemt
anyways autocannons are cooler
what's that
the rotory cannon the terminators have
oh
the BRRRRRRR gun
my first thought when you said that was of the Marvel orginization lol
planes keep passing over my house and i want to cause an international incident
so i was like... huh?
does the NTSB investigate plane crashes caused by high volumes of flak fire
oh that
the Russians have a version irl lol
i think you might be a techpriest Jay kekw
no i can just appreciate a machine that can search, track and fire on my enemies
the beautiful mathematics of ballistics
all this technology working together to make a flying object come back down to the ground
it is true that what goes up must come down, and i am the one who will make sure of it with my HYDRA
Monstrous
Iirc he is also not really trapped
The sword is the form he takes because Abaddon wants that
He is strong enough for the Emps himself to sense him and warrant personally going out to confront
Yeah I believe it's safe to say that he can really just do what he wants considering it's been a while since he's got stabbed in that chest of the custodes
Who was it again
Ra
he first stabbed Emps who then hurled him at Ra and told em to run
and then ra ran
the sword led baddy to itself in the form of custodian
so it is safe to assume ra is toast and drachnyen is ok with being abaddon's sidekick
or it is controlling him

Archaon is the Everchosen that Abaddon wish he was
Same way that Sigmar is what the Emperor wish he was
True and real
Sigmar male grindset got the empcel weeping
that's better. desperate baddy and veggie emperor... properly grimdark
Most original catachan art
Lmao wow even down to the facial expression
also thats Sly Marbo iirc so checks out

you can find dozens of old art pieces that are obviously just some actor faces doing a snarl from some movie
the Scarface marine is prob the most infamous one
they need more goofy moments in the books occuring more often, like that time the dark angels deathwing in elite terminator armor got stuck in a wooden bridge because it couldnt handle their weight and they needed construction cranes to pull them out while their non terminator brothers laughed at them in good humour
old warhammer art is great
my all time favorite piece is the space marine looking absolutely LIVID while shooting an ork in the head
it's great
Tbf he’s named Sly and his last name is name is an anagram for Rambo, I don’t think it’s supposed to be anything but a reference
True but it's still funny
I just love that his new model made him Arnold
Hasta la Vista, heretic
Get to da Valkyrie!
Put dat corpse starch down!
Remember when I said I was going to kill you last heretic?
I lied
Legit that’s imo far and away the best Arnold line
Not the most famous
But his delivery and the whole scene is just perfect
Do lalaaaa
Arnold is so good at being corny
It's like when you get a pro artist to draw a shit post
He could sell some terrible lines so well
You mean what’s awesome
It's one of those things
Jesse Ventura being governor of Minnesota at one point is always hilarious to me
Funny cursed
Imagine you gotta look at a line up and pick which one is gonna be the governor of Minnesota
And this is one of the choices
Brock Lesnar should run for president or something so we can say that our president can beat up your president to anyone.
Better yet, we’d have to witness Brock Lesnar try to give speeches and put up with people
Dude is a irl ogryn
Han Solo on the left
Lol what have I awoken to?
Tuomas Pirinen confirms there's a little bit of anime inspiration in Warhammer
"little bit"
Tuomas Pirinen
I though it was the name of a character in 40k instead of RL
imagine making a kelomorph of him
omg someone sent the funniest fucking citation needed let me grab it
AHAH JGHAHGAJGHA
This some anti-Finnish discrimination
It's the lack of gabagoo
the family in-killing tho is on point
I actually watched all of Sopranos for the first time last year
Based
i wonder whats the most common animal in all of the imperium
rat
i was thinking like, rats, crows,
Mostly just symbolism/looks cool
why were there crows on a prison moon ;~;
why did they say teh species was native there
also doves on a bakc water shit planet
well native, but they were brought there
Because people like animals
Crows help control pest insects and “clean up” dead animals and garbage that has been scattered by other animals. Although crows prey on songbirds and their young, research suggests that they do not ordinarily have a significant impact on songbird populations.
honestly being a dove care taker wouldnt be the worst job
oh i guess that makes sense
Also crows are cool
zoos in the imperium must be absolute hell
oh yweahhh i heard of that
Hm, in continuing to try and make my Ogryn dnd character, I’m curious if there’s a way I can replicate bull charge in dnd, or loyal protector
Child like desire to play
Also lots of animals stowaway and on how large imperial ships are there’s gotta be some creatures in like every corner
variant human with charger and fighter cavalier i guess?
oh hey the emperor!
There’s a pretty quality ogre class that I think fits
barbarian uh
The Master of Mankind in his true form, revealed at last as
Zola's Cousin
id just use gensys
tbh
Nah I’m running fighter for durability and extra attacks
genesys is so good
Gensys?
Kinda surprised there's no references to The Mórrigan in Warhammer considering how they are with throwing in mythological figures into the universe and there being crows and ravens all over the place.
genesys is the system for any setting and takes homebrew so easily
wasnt that a naem of a raven guard character?
Worse
I think there was a Black Templar called Morrigan
yep
literally why
lmao
Morrigan is a Black Templars Castellan known as "The Unchained".[1a]
After his mentor Bohemund was killed by the Red Corsairs Lord Graeyl Herek, Morrigan and his brothers became determined to hunting down the traitorous Space Marine and reclaiming the head of Bohemund. For his part, Morrigan had cut off Herek's hand and taken his prized Daemon B...
But it's basically unrelated

Yeah like
making a warrior prophet goddess name be attached to a throwaway black templar character is so dumb
Like the Black Templars aren't even celtic themed, why name him that
the author prob went "sounds medieval enough"
you can jsut reuse the naem for someone else
isnt there like 3 characters with a really dumb name
I was also thinking of being grapple focused, something about a ogryn just picking up people, beating on em, then tossing them at other people is really on brand for me
well, one is Roboute Guilliman
barbarian grapplier
grappler
The other is Anathema Skywalker, and Ima say the last is Ferrus Manus
There's plenty of variations of the name they could use, Morrígu, Mór-ríoghan etc
With fighters extra attacks couldnt you use your action to dash, charge at an enemy, shove/attack, then use your extra attack to do a regular attack
iron hands the leader of the iron hands and his friend crow raven the leader of the raven guard
barbarian gets extra attacks too at the same levels
I’m trying to figure out what the best combo with grappler/charger would be, since I’m fairly sure you only get one bonus action
Yeah but I just haven’t played a fighter in a while and I’m almost certain at least one other person will pick barb
wait nvm fighter gets more attacks
Orc's can dash as a bonus action and gain temp hp when they dash, that could be good for the Ogryn rush
Specifically the Orc from MPMM
With grappler could I use my action to dash, charge, shove, use the rest of my movement (I get 80 total of dashing with ogre) to get into melee, grapple, then they’re pretty well incapacitated
With tavern brawler it’s decent extra damage
Plus now I’ll get advantage for wailing on them
I wonder when it would be better to shove, attack then bonus action grapple, vs charge shove grapple, that 10 feet shove doesn’t seem that great, when compared with +5 damage
Cause if they aren’t grappleable, charge attack seems great
so
does mortarion actually have a grey knights supreme grand master name inscribed on his heart
yes

yeah uhhh
the first grey knight codex had some wacky shit
"GK recruits go through 666 trials"
"Every bullet they fire is blessed by psyker blood"
and so much more random shit
its hilariously over the top
dont forget bathing in the blood of loyal sororitas
You can forget that one
yeah thats the most infamous one lol
"hm, these sisters are uncorrupted and pure, we are completely uncorruptable so lets bathe in their blood to not get corrupted"
" Oh damn , these sororitas are heroic and loyal and have been holding back a khornate incursion all by themselves"
" Yeah, LETS KILL THEM AND BATHE IN THEIR BLOOD, THATL POWER US UP"
" YEAH BOYS, LETS GO GREY KNIGHTS! WOOOHOO0!"
This is basically like if a vampire broke into a church some people were hiding inside, the people beat the shit out of the priest there for no reason and then just walk past his corpse and use the holy water
LIKE, YOU CAN JUST ASK
OR JUST, DONT?
I love the idea that the Imperium are so disjointed that the Grey Knights just never asked for assistance from the Sisters, and instead just killed them to remain even more pure
"can you be corrupted?"
"Nah"
"soo..theres no possible reason for you to need our blood"
"No, i need it so i dont get corrupted"
"But you just said you cant be corrupted by default"
"Yes"
"So you dont need our blood then"
"No, give me your blood now"
I guess it’s a pope blood thing?
meanwhile me breathing Rodins special gas for the 93257285th time, still pure
Calling it "Rodins special gas" just makes it sound like we're huffing his farts.
I mean it may as wel lbe
That was retconned
[big think]
I like to think its Rinda's farts
Insert image of Superman sniffing gas
I was going to make a similar comment, but I've grown as a person and resisted the impulse.
None of thee are clear of sin
Dont care
Tf did I just read
This shit is not gona look good at the pearly gates bro
Where do you think they get all that gas huh? Made it themselves?
Pshhh nah
Clearly she was fed black bean burritos and let off
...cease
Even in the days of my hubris I would not have went so far

i should not have scrolled up after reading the last few messages
Clearly it's time to go up further
I am a 3D artist, I will help you create a vrchat avatar, furry avatar, gamer mode NSFW,3d printing,3d product animation, warhammer animation, Roblox Fortnite map etc.
My good gentleperson this is a lorechat
Yeah think you got the wrong place
i will pay you 100€ to fuck off
Hey be nice

I think it does break the rules
Im kinda wondering if thats a bot account, because they've only two things since joining this server
And the weirdness of saying the second bit out of context in the lore chat of all places is weird
Be proud I guess, the bot determined us fine lore chat enjoyers to be the optimal target audience
DM'd me, not gonna go through the trouble of checking if it(?) is legit though
too busy purging heretics
That account DM'd you?
I havent been DM'd
You promised them 100 euros to fuck off
Probably because you pinged them with the reply
maybe it´s because i said "i´m gonna pay you to..."
Ah yeah likely why
They want their money
ah i see, slaanesh lore
I wonder if
Im gonna pay you
Nope damn nvm
truly it does not matter whether it is composed of flesh or metal
it must die
ok kinda getting freaked out by the sheer ominousity haha.....
that's a bot if I ever saw one
why just ME though
you pinged it I guess
You have been chosen
but!!!!
It's locked in now
Probably cuz I didnt specified or because you said something first
You were their 100th customer, click now for a prize
i don´t know darling i´m not accepting that dm lmao
maybe i should not put my real face on discord after all
Yeah that'd help
nah i´m not messing with what feels like a possessed machine spirit
time to reap the whirlwind bucko
time to put DMs to private 💁♀️
You could just block the bot
most mechanicus statement
yeah either block DMs or just keep it at that current setting
that way you dont even open DMs since you see a preview, so you can just shut it down
i´m blocking DMs altogether, who knows which of you freaks tries something next
someone just giggled in voicechat on the mourningstar right next to my character i´m SCARED NOW
THEY HAUNT ME
Haunt them back lmao
Last random DM I got was a stranger from a server who sent me a screenshot of my Steam profile page with the message "Is this you?"
Ah yes I know of that scam
I recently discovered that someone tried DMing my inactive twitch account on Boxing day wondering if I was there
Then blocking my ass
XD thats funny thouh
somehow
I think there's a specific scam that uses that
I had that too, but the person was accusing me of impersonating that account
My first assumption was like "Are they trying to intimidate me by showing they can find my accounts?" but then I remembered I have my Steam profile linked and displayed on Discord
Last random dm I got was someone wanting the free 3 month Xbox game pass from my nitro in exchange for their supposed onlyfans content
Yes, its basically to hack into your account by saying they accidentally reported your account, then suggesting you should talk to a fake Steam troubleshooter
I think there's giftcards involved in it too
Just posted this to em with "you to my nuts" and blocked em
LMAO
And here I was about to send a cat
I swear some of these people also just type in random names to dm. It's twice now i haven't had like
Any mutual servers with em
I think mine is set so you can only attempt to DM if we've got a mutual server
I think I may have a similar setting up
Are the Black Templars aware about the assassination of the Celestial Lions chapter master?
They were literally there
No wonder the Inquisition is on very thin ice with them
Surprised the templars didn't crusade the Inquisition
The uh, I forgot what the chapters call them selves
But the whole fan club is on thin ice with the inquisition
Emperor’s spears, black Templars, celestial lions, and one more was there
Assuming also Sons of Dorn right?
They were basically meeting up to talk about war efforts against a chaos warband
Nah the whole thing was these chapters were stuck by them selves
And wre getting zero support
Was it Crimson Fists?
No
It was the emperors trident, there was the emperors spears, celestial lions, and the star scorpions but the star scorpions turned traitor so black Templars took their place
The Adeptus Vaelarii
Basically attacking the Inquisition wholesale is basically a death sentence.
The only thing you can do is hope the Inquisitor that is the arch-cunt behind the operation like the Months of Shame is liked by nobody and once you kill/remove him nobody will come after you
if its a unprecented attack a lot of other Inquisitors will hunt you down
its what happened to the Celestial Lions, and they were almost entirely innocent and got slaughtered
||also the entire reason the mentors chapter went there was to deliver an assassin is so funny||
Space Marine Chapters need to stop forming little threesomes, one of them always ends up going traitor
No wonder Space Wolves don't have successor chapters 😛
I was gonna send something but it wild get me kicked
Wolf spears
And the other ones that turned traitor
Maelstrom Warders and the Adeptus Vaelarii, one always ends up going bad
Oh the Wolves finally got a successor?
Okay looked it up, they're all Primaris.
They sure are a chaoter
Ultima Founding
Chapter
Oh wow the Soul Drinkers were revived
At least Lamenters are back... somewhat
Yea nothing changed lol
Soul Drinkers had to be saved so the classic "They're one of the lost legions" theory could endure
I find it funny how Imperium vs Imperium is so much more interesting
Anyone have a compendium of stuff that’s in the codex astarties?
Like in lore codex
The book of space marines lore
The Codex Astartes is the doctrine of the Space Marine Chapters, governing all aspects of Chapter organisation and battlefield tactics. For any given tactical situation, the Codex has hundreds of pages devoted to how it may be met and overcome. The wisdom of thousands of Imperial warriors has contributed to the Codex, and details on everything...
Go lower and theres a bit of the actual in-universe stuff explained in there
like passages from the book, etc
Thank you :3
I must study it to terrorize my friend

but yeah the codex is generally just referred to by name or just the Marines name dropping a passage or strategy from it, otherwise we have almost NO full thing of the book itself.
Entirely understandable
Alright let's see what's so biblical about this stuff that makes leandros cream every time he reads this
Leandros be codex-sexual
Libators seem like Ultramarines who wish they were Blood Angels
Raptors are so tactical, the more "codex-compliant" chapters see them as cowards and dishonorable.
theres one Chapter who thought they were Blood Angels before it was revealed they dont have the Black Rage and were apparently Ultramarine successors
leandros is a BITCH
Unknown founding chapters are so quirky I love it
"Who's my daddy?"
Damn, sounds like my custom chapters lore, thought they were Blood Angels successors until they realised they didn't have the Rage but refused to accept they weren't Blood Angels so they had a civil war over what the reason they don't have the Rage could be, those that thought "Sanguinius has redeemed us" vs "Sanguinius is punishing us"
Lmfao
Am working on a concept based on "what if" descendants of the survivors of the First War of Armageddon waging a shadow war with the Inquisition during the Era Indomitus.
Those that thought they were being punished became my Space Marine Chapter and those that thought they were redeemed became my Chaos Space Marines.
How very likely are the unknown founding chapters made from the gene-seed of the unknown primarchs?
next to basically zero
The two lost primarchs were completely lost and their remaining marines were shared among the bigger legions at the time, Ultramarines especially
Just thought about that as I was reading about the Red Scorpions since they're an unknown founding. Like they're so adherant to the codex that it even creeps out the Ultramarines.
So are warhammer 40k and fantasy humans way better than irl humans?
Like watching videos of death korps dudes blocking attacks from orc’s WAY bigger and stronger then the humans is nuts
Define IRL humans, like modern day, ancient humans?
Physical strength don't mean dick
Regardless yeah its drama/fantasy
Pretty sure Kriegers are a clone army
By all means the Ork should casually rip his arm off with minimal effort
But he doesn't
Not really, they aren't "peak" humans in any way either.
the closest would be Custodians who are literally alchemically engineered.
Even in the regular human Krieg aren't notable for being very strong, that would be Catachan, maybe Atmageddon Ork Hunter and a couple of other
yeah Krieg would basically be holocaust victims but more meaty lol
Quick question what's the lore behide daemonic growth like what is it
