thats why zola wanted to capture wolfer back, she was about to interogate him or something before he escaped. but considering how zola looked at wolfer like a typical heretic guard its unlikely..or maybe she was hiding his interest in him to not raise suspision from others
which makes this alot deeper
zola was playing the long game since the start of the game
Zola didn't want to interrogate him
Her master did
She would not be the one doing it
At most, if that's the case, she's trying to make up for her fuck up by letting him escape
That or whatever the dudes name is that shot the traitor
considering she literally risked jeopordizing their mission and went behind raniks back, she most definetely wants to interogate him, well now atleast
🤷♂️ we just don't know
But during the jail cell scene, she specifically mentions her master
gets my mind off the premnium shop
Not herself
When we fight the twins they tell us to leave one alive to interrogate? Do we do that or did we just kill both?
Honestly not sure
like i said to throw off the scent of her personal intentions, which is abundant in the latest mission. it was basically masks off for zola on that mission lol
we killed them both it seems
kill both
they ded ded
Again we just don't have enough info to really know one way or the other yet
like what happend on Medusa V
I'd 10000000% be a Tzeentch Acolyte
🤣 💯
how many armies do you want to fight on this planet
YES
It was ate by the warp wasn't it?
And they were able to successfully evacuate it, which is honestly like a major win for the imperium
They don't usually get to do that
The Imperial Guard intended to deny Medusa V to the Emperor's myriad enemies, or every man and woman among them would die in the effort. Every victory by the Imperial Guardsmen ensured the safe evacuation of thousands of loyal Imperial citizens.
IG legit chanelled their inner Salamander. ALONGSIDE THE SALAMANDERS
100%. The Guard is so dope man... Literally they have the single most badass moments in the whole narrative
Is there a lore reason why the zealot got stealth ability? Isn't the zealot whole thing that they scream a lot? ...you know the opposite of being a stealthy boy?
Closest thing is Death Cult Assassins
Literally their zealotry. Their belief manifests things. Be it fire, holy light, or concealing shadow.
This is a known thing in 40k. Now the game massively over uses it
It's more like miracles, and doest always happen
But say your somewhat inclined to the warp already, and the emperor has a nice opinion about you (kidding kind of), you legitimately can believe hard enough your swordcatches flame in your fervor, or you walk through fire unscathed, or the bell n your hand rings a sound that demons hate, or cast a light that bolsters your friends and gives them strength
There's a myriad of ways in which belief might manifest
To as simple as an extra bullet that shouldn't be there being at the end of your mag
Or a gun never misfiring or what have you during a prolonged battle
(Lasguns are known to not be very well made)
where is my auto stubber
this ones gonna take a lot of prayer and a lot of incense and holy oil
Sometimes
sapping the life out of a heretic to use as ammo
But sometimes, your gun is caked in blood and dirt and the grit of foul xenos, and all you have is a hope and prayer your gun has one last burst for the hungry mouth dripping saliva towards your neck. What can you do but raise your battered tool with a heartfelt cry to the holy emperor's grace, and beg for his benevolence. And when that crackling, thunderous sound echoes through the chamber, yet no shells fall from the barrel, Ye shall know your Lord Listened and Heard thee!!!
You pull out your poop shovel and hit the monster with it
Pfft
The skill enhancement node "mastercrafted shroudfield" leads me to believe that it is an actual equipment, id think their actual FAITH stuff is the chorus
The stealth for both zealot is def a shroud field based on the node upgrade
Chorus is faith magic
Prolly
@thorn zenith that's fair. But most of my statement stands for most of 40ks "miracles" like stuff, not just specifically the zealot. But yea, I'd agree with some of that. But like, also the thing he lifts up that glows is literally an artifact if I'm not mistaken. Something from an old priest that's super holy that you raise up and it blasts like pulsing golden light out. That's 100% faith based. Or the fact your fire is golden and doesn't burn friendlies somehow?
That's not some special chemical. That's definitely faith based something happening
At least in my mind
But yea, the shroud might be some tech I'm unaware of
Guys if the emperor came back do you think he will be pissed that his armor has been melted down and then split into random artifacts to be used with some already being lost because their owner died anyway
Melted ?
It would be the least of his issues
wait was it not melted down i thought i read somewhere that it was o_0
That is semi-old lore
"The right Gauntlet of the One True Armour is currently in possession of the Dark Angels, who used it to create thousands of Crux Terminatus badges" - from da wiki
its not been debunked but most people ignore it because its KINDA stupid the more you think about it
oh
true
why the fuck would you do this
bro thats exactly what i thought but then again... IT IS THE IMPERIUM
Yea
Yeah theres also one item in lore which is a grenade filled with the Emperor's tears lol
Also never trust the wiki
wtf XD
ITS STUPID
The imperium is the prime ugly stupid of the setting
Looking into it supposedly it was his own order to have his armor broken down but it's like ultra old lore
sadge cant trust the wiki 💀
Yeah... basically it's kinda Canon. But at the same time it's so old and out dated, and literally has no impact on the story, and the community hates it so much it might as well be retconned
I don't think there's a single story they factor into
Theres also the thing that everything is canon but it might not he true
That as well
lol
It very well could be a rumor in universe, and not exactly true but believed by some
I disregard that entirely because I refuse to let black library get away with writing the dumbest things ever conceived
It's just one of those things nobody cares enough to flesh out. Most wish it never existed
Fair lol
i mean it makes for good lore but
Prime example Goto writing eldar
"celestial orrery"
OK I understand the point of the necrons being way too OP for their own good but Jesus Christ Jesus
eldar stealing imperial tanks because they're better
You're telling me they just have that?
Lol like, I honestly love it
a dozen pages of farseer getting mutilated for no apparent reason
Isnt the one thing thats holding necrons back is they all rather sleep than deal with the galaxy's bullshit lol
It really sets in stone how much technological advancement was lost during humanities dark age.
@queen laurel there being tech like that makes the ancient super tech of humans seem feasible
Vast majority of necrons are not only asleep but basically automatons directed by the ruling class like Silent king etc
lul
yeah the eldar are pretty much punching bags for GW
it's not even funny it's just sad
Except the exodites. I really feel like, out of everyone they have it the best in 40k
They used to be entirely devoid of any personality but got changed into dynasties and whatnot
They are already pretty much dying then you do these combos on them goddamn
I literally never hear about them dealing with anything
Living with their dinosaurs
well, there's being so old and forgotten they have gathered enough dust to stop a bullet
Lololol
I refuse to forget them!!!
They're amazing and I love them lol
Lazer Dino riding space wood elves are the shit
noone messes with em too because if they do they'll get fucked up by a craftworld the second word gets out
*me looking for something to print that i can use
suddenly:
WELP
i guess i found my new tumbler
srsly doh how is plasteel stored inside these things
Highly pressurized would be my guess
Or the container itself is plasteel, and they just pour it on molten, then screw a cap on lol
When they go to use it just chuck the whole thing in
🤷♂️ who knows
It's said that crux terminatus has a piece of emperor's armor and when a sm terminator falls in the battle, they put extra effort retrieving their left shoulder plate
Then Goto raging on a dawn of war forum when people said it was daft
it is retconned in a sense that returning loyalist primarch has one of the emperor's toys and lion has his shield which was a part of his armor, not a handheld shield
maybe they put in multiple small bars of it. like the beskar cannister from the mandalorian
No
We’ll start with a fan favorite
daemonculaba
Okay sure
who is gonna tell him?
Ask Fabius Bile
He'd be glad to show you
You gotta give me a direction to take, like a faction or something, you cant just vaguely gesture to the entire universe and say "That"
If you really want I can start with the basic universe and shit
Like if you absolutely have no idea what direction you want to take
but I do like lore dumping soo
why isnt cawl fabricator general of mars already
does the mechanicus hate him or find sus
yes
Because it would create a literal civil war
this is like going "Why cant this person just be president"
because there will always be a massive amount of opposition against it.
why cant cawl win the majority vote
Because Imperial politics are CRAP
as are all politics
also Cawl doesn't want to be Fabricator General, and Guilliman would also not allow it
publically
He did the worst crimes imaginable.
chatting with trazyn?

I dont think he is?
Being a fabricator general is quite a restricting position, cawl would want as much freedom as possible to restore the mechanicus
Pretty sure theres a whole section of genefather on why he shouldnt
Yeah he says so himself
Also guilliman says that even if he wanted to, he would never be fabricator general
he literally says that one Lex Luthor quote from Justice League.
"Do you know how much power I would have to give up to be the President of the United States?"

which is lmao
but Cawl is more or less on that mindset
yeah why would he be bogged down by managing a lot of stuff if he could be the usual giga Chad making the most fun machinery in the world
freedom is a luxury in this Kingdom that worships a corpse
Do I need to read Warhammer 1 to 39,999 to understand 40k?
Kinda.
Love Question
Not really, you just need a very basic understanding of the events lol
Just came back to a guy saying post all 40k lore
i dont think discord can allow that many characters in one message
We'd be here all day
bro wed be here till next year
which is awseome cuz Space Marine 2 drops next year
Oh its not a 2024 release?
Ah yeah pretty far regardless
do you guys think Michael Chandler can destroy the emperor
considering the fact that the emperor has never faced anybody that sees red
Huh?
I wonder when GW is going to release my darling Ushoran
All the speculators claimed he would be released for Christmas, but alas they spoke falsehoods
Well I dont know who that is?
hey @storm jungle Is it just me or is it a warhammer tradition to basically have that orks that start their names with G are absolute monsters
No you are absolutely correct
It's actually a funny pattern now that I realize
Of course
G is very orky letter
Gork and Mork and all that
Do you think their power is related to how many G's are in their name?
It's always the gits with the two G's that are fucking scary
Grimgor
Ghazghkull
Gorgutz
The beasts real name has 6 g's
Ghaz has three
Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka
his full name
Damn he needs a fourth G
Finally after a long week or maybe more, i have finished rogue trader
With most of the party getting oofed in the ending slides
Now where is this toybox mod peoples been talking about, i wanna try different things
Workshop
Cool, thank you
you can also try your luck in nexus
if you can't get the one in workshop working
Yup, i will keep that in mind
Remember to read the install guide!
are you really a he/him?
Am I?
i am not sure
Good thing discord fucked up search on mobile so bad i was gonna check if that was their first message
Lol I'm very late, finally crashed lolol. But I've always hated this. Like... from my understanding, the Imperium fights hella hard to get back terminator and Titan equipment anyway... throwing that out there just... idk. It just seems unnecessary, and also wasteful. Like, the Emperors armor was literally the absolute best armor ever made. Why break it down like that...
for the massive, holy drip my friend. for the massive, holy drip.
oh you mean why break the armor down in the first place? well i dunno, but it´s great that heretics are getting outfashioned
On the topic of Cawl being Fabricator General. I agree that he'd never take up the position or be allowed to, but! I think if he did, it would lead to a Renaissance in the mechanicus
Yea that. I hate all of that nugget of lore
@willow sluice 1, pretty sure you're a troll. 2, no. Michael chandler would get his ass stomped, just like any other mixed martial artist going up against the Big E. Yes he has fought people who "can see red." You should read up on Horus.
Who would win, american fight boy or a 10 foot tall immortal wizard with a flaming sword
🤣 for real
can someone explain where the "lore" is? Like I see it in the games I play and hear people talk about it, but are there official books or timelines or, just a canon, I guess? Where can I dive right into the history and all sorts of different clans and etc? I've picked up on a lot but it's all by word of mouth and I feel like I am missing major stuff.
and yeah I know the basic timeline and all that, but where is that information stemming from?
The core rule book for warhammer 40K
And also the codex’s for the armies
Campaign books
Ect.
There are books for sure, what are you interested in?
I'd like to know what I'm missing I guess, just where to find more general information about things I suppose. I'll look into the core rule book and the other aforementioned recommendations
Its the actual books, which you do have to buy to access unfortunately
@native geode so the Black Library is where you will find all of the books online. There, you'll find everything from what @arctic talon mentioned, to actual full novels
- Rule books
- Codexes
- Novels
Also Lexi online is a good spot for a quick info nugget
Don't use the Wiki
@native geode you can also listen to most as audio books on audible
Which is usually a bit cheaper
I use my credits for them
And the narrations usually pretty dope
Are pets allowed in the Imperium? Do normal cats and dogs still exist?
Yes, though I think they are fairly rare
Mostly kept by the nobility and the elite
But cats are a problem in some hives, along with rodents, and they can easily become pets
And on necromunda I know they have cyber augmented hounds
@vague flare
But as far as im aware as long as it's not some horrifying xenos, there's no laws on not having pets that I know of
Arkhan Land, of the Mechanicum, has a robotic monkey companion. Biological monkeys have been extinct for so long that scientific consensus is that their tails were used as a lash or a poison delivery device.
Yvraine, (an Eldar so take with a grain of salt) has some kind of pet spacecat.
Gryinx are kept as pets by imperials as well
They’re pretty cute
Also they really like psykers
I wasn't certain so I didn't want to give misinfo
since it is known how they came about, namely, a necromunda player asking GW if he could have the catgirls from the anime "dominion tank police" in the game, we actually know exactly what the felinids look like. and back then, GW was a rather different company, so they said sure man, we got you, and canonized anime catgirls. https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/34b55073-f010-42af-9b9f-b7ee0071b7cd/dcmobqa-7dcbf63b-955f-4785-a125-428179a5e255.png/v1/fit/w_814,h_544,q_70,strp/felinid_auxilia_by_a20t43c_dcmobqa-414w-2x.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7ImhlaWdodCI6Ijw9NTQ0IiwicGF0aCI6IlwvZlwvMzRiNTUwNzMtZjAxMC00MmFmLTliOWYtYjdlZTAwNzFiN2NkXC9kY21vYnFhLTdkY2JmNjNiLTk1NWYtNDc4NS1hMTI1LTQyODE3OWE1ZTI1NS5wbmciLCJ3aWR0aCI6Ijw9ODE0In1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmltYWdlLm9wZXJhdGlvbnMiXX0.yLIJIVIee8CHqcYTunoeVsBrEpahB29-1kCZKxXmhzs https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/34b55073-f010-42af-9b9f-b7ee0071b7cd/dgigjpn-7bd0681f-98db-4f9f-80ad-ff97133d39ea.png/v1/fit/w_637,h_760,q_70,strp/cat_person_ogryn_by_a20t43c_dgigjpn-375w-2x.jpg?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7ImhlaWdodCI6Ijw9NzYwIiwicGF0aCI6IlwvZlwvMzRiNTUwNzMtZjAxMC00MmFmLTliOWYtYjdlZTAwNzFiN2NkXC9kZ2lnanBuLTdiZDA2ODFmLTk4ZGItNGY5Zi04MGFkLWZmOTcxMzNkMzllYS5wbmciLCJ3aWR0aCI6Ijw9NjM3In1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmltYWdlLm9wZXJhdGlvbnMiXX0.25TsPPS3UF_ZmMIYU8-uXMsrZl8pfgBV61s6Smm77ec
just found it a fun fact
Does 40k universe have different types of music or is it all just church chants and stuff?
If guardsman john would like to listen to eurovision, would he be able to do that?
It probably has "normal" music but they rarely are in the focus of the stories
Im thinking if "evil music" or something is something that the church would have outlawed
Like if you listen to something sus they take you
I mean, tuck tail in pants and hide ears in helm?
The kroot guy mentions they have claws the length of the rogue traders forearm
Along with the statement “all humans look about the same to me”
true, not to mention that the kroot may have been messing with him. or, it could be a case of author not knowledgable on them beyone the memes
I always interpreted that bit as them tasting the same as humans lol
IIRC the felinids are supposed to be thundercats lmao
You've got to remember this is a Kroot, a race that comes in lots of shapes
and we cannot forget the variety of claw weapons the imperium uses. not impossible to have some claws that long added by wargear
i don't think you are very knowledgeable
Oh that could be the case lmao
a crusher is basically as tanky and strong as a spesh marines right
Nah way less tanky bcs no power armor, def as strong as a marine though
then rejects might as well be a squad of 4 derp marines with the feat they do anyhow
Nah we’re built better
We can survive a funny crusher horde
I’ve never heard of a marine surviving 25 ogryn in carapace armor at once in cqb
He just can't catch a break.
@willow sluice lol I mean, ask around. I don't know everything but I know a bit about most. And have never claimed to knowledge I didn't have. That said, from this moment on you my friend shall not be served by my knowledge or lack there of. Have fun learning on your own.
🤣
lol
is there a place i can read up on commonly used non-combat technology and stuff in the setting? im really curious what sort of medical technology and household or everyday gadgets/appliances are used the 40k universe
Huh... https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Main_Page is the best place for random bits of information that's actually sourced. Never, ever trust wiki.
== The Community Created Warhammer 40,000 Encyclopedia ==
Lexicanum is a fan-made encyclopedia based on the successful online database Wikipedia and is about the fictional setting in which the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000 and other games produced by Games Workshop and its subsidiaries and license holders. Each of you has the possibility to t...
But otherwise... man... I'm honestly not certain on something like that
@quick egret
I doubt it's been shown much if at all in any real way
thanks - i did poke around on Lexicanum but I couldn't find much 😦 that site seems to just have a lot of space marine things
That's honestly most of the fleshed out lore that can be sourced
ah, fair 😔 I'm weird, lol - I like the mundane aspects of world building
Most of everything else can't be and is fan made or just assumptions and theories
@quick egret nah respect. I love that too. I just don't exactly know if this setting has shown much of that as of yet
I'm a few chapters into the first Commisar Cain book and I'm loving all the little details here and there - like, they still use porcelain plates
That's probably your best bet honestly is just novels
With its and bits of info spliced here and there
Which sucks...

I'm also a little hesitant to read a lot of the books because i've heard they can get kind of graphic/gorey and i prefer to avoid those ^^;
... i doooo want to read more about rowboat guillotine, though. he seems cool from the snippets I've seen here and there
They definitely can
I suggest audible as you can just use your credits and it's not really an expense
yeah I got an audible subscription for christmas xD so I'll be reading a few of them, though I much prefer ebooks
A little bit, yeah. I'm in the States, though, idk how that works
Should work fine I'd think
Why are there calls for female space Marines?
@storm jungle I know where people are getting the Lion voiceline from
Representation mostly
Not wanting them is fine but some people take it upon themselves to turn it into some woman hating crusade lol
Pretty much what emeritus said^
I don't honestly see a reason why they specifically can't exist
SoB is basically female spesh merines tho
Not even close
took bro 3 edit to get the close right
kekw
I read somewhere that if necron were to all wake up human will face a foe as numerous as their own, thats kinda crazy
considering they fought war in heaven + lose a bunch more shattering the ctan
There's a lot that goes into being a space marine. Like extreme modifications and so on. Sororitas don't have anything on them
And my bad for being high lol
Sororitas are also extremely limited character wise and not particularly relevant
The want for female Space Marines is because Space Marines are the poster boys of 40k, they're the most popular faction and the most represented in media and on the tabletop. You can say "But there's women over there in that faction" but when your largest faction specifically has a "No girls allowed" sign people are going to be bothered by that.
Yea, there's also that
Marines are homebrew central and extremely prevalent
Representative of what? Modern sensibilities. Nothing to do with the story
The existence of women is not a modern sensibility
I'm sure the lore would implode if Brothers Gribbidus was actually Sister Gribbida
this convo again huh
Ikr
Existence of women =/= women space marines
.... no, but their existence would bolster sales and bring more females into 40k
And that's what people want changed, yes
This^ lol
In any other context, catering to sales would be seen as selling out and inauthentic
You don't have to agree, just telling you why people feel the way they do
sure let cawl make primaris female space marines and retcon it in, it's w/e tbh
No, it'd be seen as the usual
Have you looked at the space marines range?
They're milking those mofos dry
GW are prime sellouts lmao
It’s OK to be wrong
Then be ok
Even the lack of fem marines boils down to a lack of sales way back
My fat thumbs lolol
@green loom lol don't give them too many facts like that
Idk if they can handle it
Be fair ghost, swallowing the "lore is irrelevant" pill is difficult for most 40k fans
No we need primitive space elves in swimsuit armor
I wouldn't mind Exodites
I mean... true. But nobody says it has to be irrelevant either. Idk why it's one way or the other, amd why people can't understand that as the product stands its built to turn away a female crowd
Yeah, let’s get some scantily clad exodites
True
I literally have championed exodites in here for days I don't want to hear it lolol
I mean we do have wyches anyway
Setting it’s built to turn away a female crowd is just saying 98% of their audience is male
I think the issue Xulld had with female space marines was that they wouldn't be able to ogle them
True
The writing itself is written to not be palatable that way. Its written as a man's jerk fest
Go on.
Say it's not
The entire science-fiction dystopian space opera genre is dominated by male readership
Again, I don't understand how that matters?
How does them being mostly a male dominated space negate the fact that females can also be added in without damaging the structure?
Matters to what your opinion well? it doesn’t and I don’t have to cater to your opinionI
These are facts which marginalize your opinion
My statements aren't marginalized. Most of the fan base agrees with me statistically. Which is what I've made statements about. You are the one stating opinions, and not only that, opinions in the minority that not many agree with
Doesn't matter if the fan base if male.
Females can be added
And it won't hurt anything
I think it does matter that the fan bases is male and that it caters to men
Then it shouldn't matter if they decide to cater to women too
You presented it in a very derogatory way a “jerk fest”, I am just translating that has caters to men
It doesn’t matter and that’s why it doesn’t matter
If women enjoy Warhammer 40 K, it is probably that they are more in line with the male power fantasy anyway so changing it doesn’t actually make sense catering to people usually comes across as in authentic
I mean, yea. Because, it was meant to be derogatory. Good catch. And my point is adding some females in will not hurt or harm that, which you have been in here fighting against and are now backing away from
I guarantee there are plenty that do
And plenty more if female space marines were added
I’mnot fighting against anything I am simply stating facts. My wife doesn’t think female space marine sounds cool, so your opinion is just yours mine is mine my wife’s is hers but the audience is men does female, space marines, really cater to men I would think scantily clad elves would be better.
This entire push for representation is incredibly in authentic and doesn’t come from a creative place. It comes from a political place, and that in and of itself is a good reason to reject it.
Nobody said scantily clad elves. Why does a female space marine have to be beautiful?
Why can't she be a battered war vet covered in scars missing her hair ragged as fuck
Do you want a cool female character look up interrogator Spinoza awesome character
Imperial fifth space marines respect her that’s cool that’s authentic
Fist*
Lolol right. So instead of giving people what they actually want distract with bullshit. I'm done with this convo. You're wrong and gw will do what makes them the most money, really simple as that
Cool story

you two are both equally cringe
And your a troll looking to stir shit. Go back to your bridge

Hey, no hard feelings I think it was a nice chat
guy just spent 30 minutes typing to another guy on discord to end up nothing, salty much
Lol nah, I just realized we'd never reach common ground.
I'll just say some people take issue with the creative limitation that marines can be only male
And we don’t have to that’s the beauty of it. Who knows I could be wrong I love to be surprised.
He's welcome to his opinion. But really in this nothing either of us say will change anything. It's up to gw and how they decide to make money in the future.
I doubt very seriously it survives another decade without some changes though
Definitely

Who knows
I don’t think space marines can only be male. I just think there’s a well-established lore and just adding them to add them would be inauthentic
It's not like marines are paragons of consistency
This is also very true
Or 40k in general
I personally think games work shop leans too heavily on space marines
I definitely agree with that
What gave it away
I wish more depth was placed on the actual imperium itself. That said, they are starting to really branch more into the necron. And the Eldar have some really good stories too
This guy forgot that the big shakeup in the model line was the in-lore lost impossible feat of space marines but better
That was probably a good opportunity to add lady marines
Guys look totally legit proof of skaven in 40k
I'm more interested in the joe and jane average trying to make their way in the grim dark future, not the genetically engineered super soldiers xD
That's why plastic solar auxilia is hype
The heresy will now involve the normal people, without forge world resin
One of the premiere characters of the auxilia is like this super old war general that's like a normal guy in an exo suit essentially
MaSade
Like I said earlier, Space Marines are basically the main faction, so in terms of public perception it puts them under a greater spotlight for things like representation.
So the solution is basically either stop putting the Space Marines on a pedestal or add women to the Space Marines and they're unlikely to ever stop making Space Marines the main focus because Space Marines sell big.
(I don't care either way tbh, I just understand why it's an issue)
Ma(rquis) (de) Sade
Show me those stats. And by the love of the Emperor, do not pull them from twitter or so, Lord Upon the Golden Throne help me.
Your ramblings are harmful. While warhammer isn't, shouldn't, won't be male only, space marines are, should be. Why?
They are the only faction that represents masculinity, brotherhood, paternal values to a degree - and been doing it for decades.
We've got great female-focused factions, which are arguably stronger, than the Astartes. The problem lies in how poster-boy are the space marines.
Women enjoy warhammer, space marines as they are. They advocate against this change, because they understand both the HOBBY as a whole and a singular FACTION.
It is on gw, that for example Sororitas do not have the variety the Astartes have. It is not the fault of Space Marines and as such you should not alter them.
Like all this woke shit? I agree.

2nd half of paragraph 3 isn't exactly true
4th paragraph is what one defines as "hypocrisy", as you are doing what you're slamming him for
But at least you're not yapping about women being inferior
Which saddens me greatly.
To even mention it...
Women aren’t a monolith though, some want the change, some oppose it, some don’t care.
You'd be surprised
Don't what, I'm saying I'm glad you didn't make an argument as banal as some I've seen lel
Do not insult me by even humoring such an idea coming from my keyboard.
I mean you did literally respond to
"No one agrees with you, everyone agrees with me"
With
"Nuh uh, everyone agrees with me, no one agrees with you"
Sigh I knew I shoul've stayed silent.
Raving lunatics would speak their piece and universe would be back normal.
Don't put words in my mouth that I did not utter.
A single instance I indicated EVEN majority of people agreeing with me,
Do show me that.
Oh? And where did I speak of majority of women?
I'd check your vocabulary
You do you pal
I am not entitled to speak of majority, as I do not know if it is true. But I do know there are women who - as I said - enjoy it all, as it is.
When you say “women” without an indicator of quantity such as “some” you inherently imply all
Take a class on semantics or use of English ig
Funny you say that.
In hell because they're very limited customization wise
the carry handle on that bolter got me
Ikr
It would absolutely snap the second you used it but hooray for a decent sight on a bolter finally
If you ever feel useless remember that they put iron sights on the Plasma Gun
Theyre pretty nice sights too
but entirely useless once you fire the gun once
Hey if the stc says it goes, it goes lol
My weapon customization mod plasma that can no longer be recognized as a weapon:
Looks like riot armor from fallout new vegas
Actually
No that's definitely the inspiration
You should see the rest of his Chapter's range
the dreadnaughts are just titanfall mechs for some reason lol
also just... why
LMAO
wow they are
except for leftmost
Don't forget the AK lasguns
The peace symbol actually got me
there is no conciveable way that survived into the 41st
Yeah like no offense
the art style is good but like this has to be the most un-40k stuff ive seen where he just added anything he thinks looks cool

its so cursed that it ALMOST works before your brain tells you to stop and goes "no it doesnt"
I also don't think there is any real point to supressing a bolter considering the bullets explode
There's a variety of ammo
oh dear god the tec-9 bolters

Primaris bolter with the mounted Virtual Boy
Guy with the double grav chute is also kind of great
that's a standard scope for infiltrators tho
what the actual hell is this supposed to be
got the plasma gun butt thing, ak foregrip, boltgun receiver(?), and hotshot gun cable
The plasma thing is on them normally I think
the hotshots ends are usually stockless/blank iirc
ak gas chamber?
bullet ejection for las rifle?
god i hate the updated model even more now
I smurt
Actual question, why do astartes shotguns even exist, boltguns chamber like .75 to 1 inch shells anyway
Shotguns are cool

just swap to a buckshot magazine
I rather like the Kasrkin
Though their maska are a bit
Smooshed
But going back to the dreadnoughts looking like Titanfall mechs the rightmost is just straight up Northstar with a missile rack
Out of all the stuff biggest sin is the color scheme. They'll look like black blobs on tabletop
The astartes have shotguns?? Boltguns can fire specialized rounds which is the last reason shotguns are used in modern combat for lol
Honestly with what we know of boltguns i bet you could make a bolt round that behaves exactly like any shotgun shell
Yes, scouts have them most often
these things
Its kinda funny in a universe where the most common horror scene is "oh no our bullets arent working! "
That is kinda sick
Rifle grip with no stock is funny
Don’t question logic in terms of 40k
more modern reference
I love that this one has not just classic wooden AK furniture, but the AK gas tube lol
on a laser no less
I hope it ain't real wood
Lasguns already scorch you
Can't imagine hotshots are too friendly to it
Tanith lasguns have canon wooden furniture, even their longlas-es
The ones that get hot enough to need barrel swaps

Fireproof wood invented in the dark age of technology
entire wooden bodies
in that case though they are master-crafted and fit the aesthetic
then you got this guy
"idk AK"
I went
when I saw the vostroyan Lasguns in RT
Oh god I am just imagining what would happen if you used the stupid triple stacked magazines with an AK
Honestly not being gunderstanders is the least of 40k accuracy sins
I love that they dodged some of the scale challenges simply by saying "space is magic actually"
Oh i guess that's a homebrew chapter
Those look at least drawn by a gun-looker-atter at least
Holy shit... i went looking for the gun cues and really looked at the rest of the picture
I still cannot get over one of the auxillas just looking like a taliban member
also just... titanfall titans as dreadnaughts
💀
Yeah LOL
ah yes lets just occlude all of my vision
"We have legion of the damned guys and also space wolf guy but maybe more like goths?
Space marines with what appear to be Tec 9s?
YEAH
Also like... a vietnam war aesthetic which just looks goofy as fuck
ironic because Catachan exists and they do it without being cringe lol
we even have the Astartes Grade Cheese Grater
I like some of the tacticool designs ngl
They combined vietnam with like, near future military type stuff
Its not all bad
doesnt really work too well
it is really neat looking
I like some of the ideas there just so many funny bits
Its drawn really well too!
but if you look a bit it starts looking silly and or weird
The heavy bolter that's a SAW is a fun perspective slip up
The handle is pure magic
that would snap instantly
Alright these two together is slightly heretical
I just saw there's a SECOND NINJA
you can't just use that thing
Nah that's fine besides scythes being death guard coded
the rice farmer hat more or less confirms this guy is american

i mean the taliban auxillary was a close hint but still
The techmarines peace sign looks a little chaotic
Most of the text on the armor and weapons is kind of funny
Taste the SUN on the melta
The taliban auxilia with the scimitar is probably the funniest because its SO out of place
See I want to say "that's tallarn"
I feel like i know the person who drew this personally at this point
now that I look at it this looks very close to an xcom operative running on standard gear
minus the
gun(?)
yeah like, 40k has such an aesthetic
the moment you see shit like this
you go "Yeah this doesnt work"
I think it's mostly the colour scheme and guns
Lasgun with AK handguard
He definitely took stuff from internet that looks cool, tried to make it 40k and used the paint scheme
The guns really look like something that would be going through army trials in a few years
the magazine and receiver look like bolter parts
but it also looks like perspective issue
thats a hotshot thing
Very visible influences rather than plagarism
the straight up Northstar:
Armor gives straight UNSC Marines vibe
He does do a lot of halo art
Indeed
I can give you his twutter
UNSC / Imperium are like peak opposites aesthetic wise
Though I'm sure you have it already dilara
Lmao nah
i came across this once and the moment i saw the taliban auxillary i just "Not interested in this" it
Unsc looks like Starship Troopers and imperium very closely looks like an under equipped American drafted soldier
I just want someone to paint this scheme and cry
He's called Graffiti Soul
Everyone look she doesn't have the thing on her collection screenshot it
imperium looks like colonial marines
atleast cadians still do
Cadians also moved away from that
the earliy artwork versions REALLY looked like it tho so
makes a lot of sense though
Probably the most original thing GW made would be these guys at the end of the day, the rats of New York
I love stormvermin with halberss
It’s time to expand Under-Empire
Hellpit abominations no question
For the Great Horned Rat
Live U5 reaction:
Skaven with poison mortars, flamethrowers and machine guns.
Those AK (Draco) like las guns feel out of place
Clan skrye and Clan Moulder making the Stormfiend is Peak
Tbh I wish I was this good an artist
Indeed
Now I want to make a deldar proxy from this guy
Huh?
After playing RT chapter 3 I can solidly say that works
just make it less rat like and you're set
oh yeah @storm jungle, can Warpstone exist in warhammer 40K?
Nope, its not a thing
like hardened warp energy exists (like Assail psyker darts) but Skaven Warpstone is not a thing
oh shucks, but I can basically just replicate it by somehow finding a way to condense warp energy right?
pretty much
First you create warpstone
There's ways to harden things
Than with power of Tzeentch you create Rat-Man
Is this an innuendo? Yes!
multiple ideas just popped into my head for home brew, thanks inquisitor
Selling warp dust?
Sadly I think skaven would be way to similar to the orks to get introduced to 40k, both have technology held together with boards and twine that only works for them and both have no real motivation besides fight people and/or steal things
As psychic active drug
Imperium = Skaven
Literally
I like stormvermin
Really well
no I'm going to make a condensed warp crystal obliterator engine for my Warboss personal tank
Just would be nice to see Rat-Man back
HUH
I mean they are still in AOS at least
Many Weirdboyz you need
I mean Beastman are in 40k
So why don’t any Skaven?
As a mutant
Don't worry I have all the characters I need to ******** that into existence
Ratlings
Ratlings are just Halflings
Yeah
Beastman served in Astra Militarum
their entire parts have been taken, faulty technology?
yes
unbelievably ugly abominations?
yes
backstabbing anything that can think?
yes
Lot of the factions in warhammer 40k fulfilled their niche
40k should fix their factions before adding a totally new one imo
And they don’t have to be born in Imperium
I don’t opt for Skaven to be a new faction
One thing I would suggest fixing for orks is definitely the WAAAAAGGGGGH, fans don't understand that it has a limit
Other than that they're fine
Just make them as some unit for Chaos
They're practically perfect besides that one minor flaw
the entire part where the fans think they can bend reality
Yeah Wagh having limit is shit idea
They can bend it like you bend a steel pipe
Really hard to do by yourself
Yes it has a limit and they need something to work off of
But grab some friends and it starts to be possible
Will only be lucky if you have the blue paint applied on something
Also Eldars need fixing
Eldar, generic csm, sm, nids have a lot of variety problems
Lol wow, glad I was afk for that. You handled it better than I would have. Dude was just looking for a fight to keep the 80s around.
@storm jungle 🤣
Basically yeah
It's definitely a warrant of execution in the imperium
A Guardsman says woke and he gets shot
I just dont see change as necessarily bad if done right, and everybody that is so violently against it... idk... just doesn't seem to be a good look
On that note, cool take on marines I found per cool artist
Seen many a brother get the cimmisar treatment for it.
I myself don't remember how I died.
I may have been one of them
Hey I just woke u- BANG
🤣
🍿
Yea... like calling them paragons of masculinity and that being the reason to keep them as they are forgets all the reasons why you shouldn't model masculinity off 80s culture and this franchise
Certainly not enviable depictions of masculinity but they are certainly designed to be that way, the generic standard space marine chapter culture is ripped straight from orders of battle monks like knights Templar or hospitallers
Oh for sure
There's another comment below those two that basically says this yeah
They're meant to be unhealthy
Which makes people venerating them all the more concerning
Y'all taking the funny space men way too seriously again.
Its supposed to be dumb and not realistic, no shit it would actually suck to be any of these people.
Its still cool.
Nah, see that's the thing. Lol most of us can talk about this without it being all that serious
It's usually the guys who are violently against it taking it to heart
I don't actually wish that my workplace would get robbed but I still have random day dreams of it being robbed and me stopping it.
Lol I've been there honestly
Its extremely common.
It helps pass the time
We like to think of a more "ideal" or interesting version of ourselves
Space Marines are an easy thing to project yourself on, as is plenty of stuff in 40k. Its a dumb power fantasy or whatever.
In my head I'm chuck norris and Bruce Lee's long lost love child, taken at an early age and hidden away until the moment my destiny calls
In real life.... I game lol
I work.
I sleep.
I repeat
Man I usually dream of falling out a window lmao
🤣 you need to spice up your dreams man
OK... maybe less spice... more fun?
Probably not healthy now that I think about it
Idk man... maybe just therapy?
Electro shock sounds fun!
I hear that's more a kink than a therapy now
To the chair I go
Shrugs until he notices the inquistorial agent Ahem I highly must suggest otherwise sir! Such operations.... tend to be viewed as unsightly, heathen even. Wouldn't want anyone thinking your a slaaneshi cultist, niw would we, sir?
to be presented at a later date without context
Pfft
They're already collecting evidence sir!
You must work on your plea, hurry!
Pray to the God-Emperor they have mercy upon you, that you may survive interrogation to serve once more.
Nws, he will repent as a fax machine
Kind of a weird question but what do they do when they reach the top? Like does the emperor hold court/say hello? Or do they just bow and then leave or get sacrificed as breakfast lol
Actually, I don't think they can
They say what they came to say, maybe get a nod or response, and leave
This is 30k still so the psychic stuff isn't that overbearing
Nowadays, it's so painful to be anywhere near him, that the entire planet is like a burning fire to eldar
Custodes standing guard in his chambers have the thoughts burned out of their minds by the sheer psychic weight
Bro imagine travelling through the warp, getting PTSD and 60 flavors of depression, spending generations of your family savings, sacrificing a friend or 2 and then getting a nod
Basically like standing in the room with a navigators eye open times a million
If you're seeking an audience with him you're probably a Terran big shot
hmm true
Not only that, but it's also a nod from your literal God figure (ish) about your deepest burning question. Not only that, your audience with him basically ensures your status and your families status
No matter what happens
Simply cause you met the guy
In 30k it's probably just a report/order from your boss
Ik but it seems such a hassle lmao
To be fair, even these days thats how most meetings with high society people go. These people don't care about your time and they see thousands of people like you, they just give a good enough reply (if they even wanna bother with that) and bid you fare well, its the ultimate irony of people in high places lol
But like, humanities most important boss ever
Look in fan art brw
At the same time it's kind of a case of "be normal or else" with him back then
That's very true lolol
There has to be a point in time where a bunch of ogryns visited and were like o_O O_o
Ironically he probably really hated them
(Except he violently hated all mutants except psychers)
Idk man big e feels like everything but stable
His big thing is the "purity" of the human Race
Lolol I really want to believe one big lovable oaf really got through to him though lol
That's a story I need
How an ogryn teaches the big e about mutant acceptance
Big E just grants him the honorary "Mascot of Humanity" title , and you now see him at all official propaganda parades just standing there with his shiny medal
Dude the ogryn would die of happiness
Give him a shiny star before he has a heart attack
bro can u imagine the bragging rights that ogryn would have around other ogryns
🤣
Still can't count to 4 but he knows He emprahs favooort, farva, fravoo, darn it he likes me most!
🤣 yes!
I opened a debate with a friend the other night about ogryn, what do you think would make one happier? Unlimited rashuns whenever they wanted them, or as many gold stars as they wanted to put on their armour?
They can reapply the gold stars after every battle**
Soldiers are tools doesn't matter if they're a space marine or fresh recruit they'll all die serving the emprah
Ogryns will be the happiest about it which brings a bit of comfort to the whole slaves to the imperium side of it
Or just stop being that and go off to do their own thing

theres a literal warhammer crime series about this thing
Would that classify as heresy? Refusing to serve
I mean yes
the Imperium is a fascist-authoritarian regime lol
you dont get to say "no"
So die for the emperor or be killed by the emperor is the choice I hear
Very much "You are with us or against us"
I dunno it's a whole dark ass universe the ogryns are mostly oblivious to, they don't understand they're being manipulated into dying but I'd say it's better than being conscious that you're forced to die
It's two sides of the same very f-ed up coin
They pretty much got the mind of a child since they are purposefully not educated.
so that checks out
Oh I wasn't aware they could be educated
I thought even the smartest ogryns could count to 4 and barely remember their own name
Bone-ead implants change that significantly ofc
Ogryns can learn, they are still humans, their gigantism doesn't make them automatically dumb.
its like i said just that if they learned more than they should they'd realise they are basically slave soldiers to a certain degree lol
From what I've heard it's the way they've evolved to their world, increase size and muscle but they didn't need the really complex brain for tribes of less than 20~
But I could be wrong I'm no ogryn dictionary
Pretty much, Ogryns are useful as heavy shock troopers, the Imperium doesn't require them to be smart. Because when you are smart, you think. And when you think, you start questioning stuff.
The classic imperium line of "To question is to doubt"
YEP
And when the ten foot tall wall of flesh that can dissect a terminator with its hands and thinks with them first, dealing with its questions is a difficult and potentially expensive adventure
Is the Warhammer card game any good
Better for their commanding officer to tell them "the emperor needs you to meet him in his golden palace, go into that field of space marines and start a fight"
DONT DO IT
Awww, I was considering downloading
The problem with that is that the ogryn might actually kill a few and then said commanding officer gets shot
I mean I've heard of one killing a single space marine but multiple firing from around him, idk ogryn hits hard but he's still just meat
Very possible for a couple but oggy not that strong
assuming they don’t squad fire point blank it ogryns are very capable of killing space marines in melee
Oh yea I was referring to space marines just going NYC cop on that ogryn
40 shots close range no warning
Ogryns are indeed stronger than your average space marine, but being physically stronger does not amount to much when it comes to beating one in a fight, marines are much smarter, better trained, quicker, better equipped and could probably talk an ogryn into jumping off a cliff by convincing them they are being disloyal
Also that
Heretics meeting their 16th bullgryn circa 31640: ^^
It's not just that ogryns are well suited physically to being shock troopers, it's also that they can't really do much else the way they are, even telling them to go charge a point and defend it requires their superiors to order them in the simplest possible terms and not complicate it
Our ogryn is probably a sharper one, solving auspex puzzles at record speeds and whatnot
I think the auspex puzzle is that simple FOR the ogryn
They train day and night while not on mission to press button when yellow are together
Now I can't help but imagine an ogryn trying to service an engine to the exact mechanicum rituals
I think his head would literally explode
Dereliction of duty, absent without leave, conscription evasion, mutiny, and plain insubordination are all real world and 40k examples of the illegality of a soldier not being where they are supposed to be or refusing to do what they've been ordered.
And all of which are, in the eye of the Imperium, traitorous and heretical
I still think we need to have Brunt as Vocator during Auspex mission parts
And all of which will catch you a bullet
Brunt should be a Vocator I agree
The best vocator dialogue I find are hadron and kayex, and morrow and wolfer
So to the average conscript they're being forced to die for the emperor, ogryns are too dumb to understand the danger so they're persuaded and lied to, ogryns get it the best as they're happy even as they're dying they truely believe they're serving the emperor
Many yes, though many fight with zeal
That's how "miracles" occur on the battlefield
Having two techpriests discuss how their voxes got hacked during the obscura den ambush is hilarious 😂
Most I think are so indoctrinated they're happy to go to war, at least till they get there, to be in service
And also to leave their hives and homeworld
Then there's the Kreigsmen, literally fighting and dying in the millions because of guilt
No matter ogryn or regular guard
Smh one probably installed prohibited BBW Hereticography vox caster content from some sketchy data terminal
Like, think of the Cadian Stand. Them dudes weren't being forced to fight like that
Their stand is admirable because they stood for so long
Even as the world shattered around them, lasgun bolts shot into space.
Average Loser Kriegsman: Bwaahhhhh I failed my duty now I'll do all I can to die for my mistake wahh wahhh
Chad Ogryn: Emprah need me to smash the heretics until I can meet him in his golden house!!
Well information about the warp is kept quite secret, even to the guardsmen, that shit aint flying with the cadians, they can just look up and see the eye of terror , so they also doubly understand the importance of not letting cadia fall
I assume.
So like, many of the regular guard are just as happy, if not more so then ogryns to chop xenos, mutants and heritics
That's a fair statement, but I still think most follow my train of thought
Though as grim dark as 40k is, there's definitely millions being forced into the meat grinder too
That do not want to be there
Well they probably understand that the entire imperium is entirely relying on them
Exactly, or are at least indoctrinated into thinking as such
But yes, of course everyone is indoctrinated into giving up their lives for the emprah, some just have more reason to believe it's a good idea than others
Lol basically
The ecclesiarchy is a hell of a thing
I think some of the conversations say player ogryns are bone eads which is a modification that slightly boosts intelligence
Only 1 has the implant (But it may not work). Of the other two, 1 wants it, the other think it's beneath him
its the Bully
hes ironically the smartest one next to the Bodyguard while being very violent lol
Oh I thought all of em were boneheads
Nah, FS had the Ogryn not be as dumb as memes and old lore had them
So which one has the implant
Brawler I think
That's the sah one right
Not sure, I have a Bully
The one who has a bromance with the vet
I have a bully too
As far as I can tell, there's one who's always going yes sah no sah, the bully is the one who calls everyone runt and the other one is a Slavic dude
yeah thats him
You can see that when he actually rarely shows it
like one moment hes threatening to leave you behind the other is him telling you to get up and show them you are stronger
its definitely a great ogryn character, people are way too used to the "dumb gentle brute"
I just pick em based on whose voice I like
But boy oh boy did cutthroat vet surprise me
Those dialogues are absolutely 🔥
Especially if you take voice of command and hear him go "I WANNA HEAR THEM SCREAM!!!"
yeah im guilty of as soon as I hear "GET IN THERE", immdietly switches to melee and joins the Zealot
9 times out of 10 our HP drops to 20 gunners suddenly spawning
Isn't one of the ogryns mods literally cooking its brain?
I could of swore I remember hearing something like that
Yup, it's the implant
Lol that's what I thought lolol
But to be fair, we don't know it it really work
No I mean, like because it's misfiring, it's literally cooking his brain. As in you can smell the burnt meat
