It's the equivalent of putting rebar in a rock.
YOU GET IT
That's fair. I eat rocks. I don't eat concrete.
Believable
You don’t eat rocks silly
Paper beats rock, much tastier
does this have remifications later on?
Theres one or two events after this if i recall correctly, but nothing beyond that that ive seen
You will potentially blow up the planet

this stuff is just cargo right?
when I pick it up, it goes into my inventory rather than cargo normally though...
Yeah
Yes
I was having doubts because it kept going into my main inventory, or is that just owlcat interface?
I guess
sounds like a bug
Hey how it’s probably Rockcrete
Which is a good bit stronger
But loses points for having a dumbass name
Although I will say 40k mostly has good names for fictional space materials
Would it make sense for a primaris space marine to wear something like a mk3 helmet? Could you get away with saying its a primaris version of a helmet that is meant to resemble a mark 3 or is that too far fetched?
Ye
It can just be a mk3 helmet
Firstborn can use Mkx and primaris can use all the older armours
oh, nice
Typically for Primaris you'll just see Mkx with some older mark bits
Like Firstborn and Mk7
I really wish primaris would be seen wearing other helmets. Really not the biggest fan of the maximus style helmets that mk10 goes for. Correct me if im wrong but in old art that showed a bunch of marines you could always see a couple wearing more exotic helmets like corvus or the previously mentioned mk3.
The new sternguard kit at least gets a MK7 helmet or two
yup, thats why i bought one for christmas. Love the mk7 and corvus.
I think it's technically a Mk8 on the new sternguard kit
Nah, my bet's on mk7. (idk what the difference is besides the grill being more rectangular)
it's the flatness of it, because of the silly collar on Mk10
Gorgets are awesome and cool and I will not have them slandered
Iconoclast is more Pro-Imperium the way the Emperor wanted it to be back in 30K before Horus Heresy ruined everything and lead it down the path of the Imperium in 40K era
This is supported more in the True Iconoclast ending you get if you did all the proper extra tasks.
argh
I just realised in my game that Yrilet's quest didn't fire
and I got her hours ago
What the space marine chapter that has a hand print on a black helmet
Looks like its a sister legion of the Imperial fist
Is there a reason why the imperium of man has so many resemblances to nazis? Or is it just that both are evil and its just a way to show it?
The imperium takes a good bit of inspiration from them regarding its aesthetic
And yes it’s to sell the point they’re evil
And also it’s a cool aesthetic
It serves both those purposes at once
Also 40k was made by british guys in the 90's during Margaret Thatcher's rise in england as a leader, a lot of people back then thougth she was a fascist iron-fisted prick so the anti-authority satire of the setting and the Imperium's obvious suppressive fascism comes from that along with the aquilla more or less being suspiciously looking like the WW2 germany eagle, as much as people want to cope that its a historic symbol when its clearly not what it its referencing lol (to the point that GW had an aquilla infront of their HQ once before taking it down because everyone kept referring to their office as the "nazi building" and it was a really bad look)
Game be buggy like that, the quest for space marine companion didnt fire for me either so i missed out on him entirely
The idea of some blokes walking down the street and referring to basically a toy store HQ as "nazi building" is a really funny concept.
And of course the meme, Margaret Thatcher is used as a reference for Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka
noooooo warhammer shows how fascism is necessary and actually very very good
Fr fr ong
Most random thing ever but y’know I’ve never really noticed ghaz’s skull trophies before, but now I really want an ork to have a skull trophy from his first human kill that he has a “castaway/wilson” sorta friendship with
So odd question, but has any mention of the T'au having any Imperium ship serve in their Navy?
Don't think so
The Tau are probably smart enough not to do that in most situations, but if things are dire then I can’t see why they wouldn’t temporarily take charge of one before using it for scrap or experimentation
And in general imperial navy people are very f****** stubborn
They will only serve the imperium and only the imperium
I just find it odd that the T'au allied Votann add their own ships to the t'au navy, but there are none Gue'vesa vessels.
It's the imperium they will not give the tau a single ship even if it's transport vessel
Tbh, I was thinking more along the lines of the T'au fielding one if they captured it, but then I remembered it was the Imperial navy, so self-destruction is a definite.
They probably look at them
Realize that half the ship runs on slave labour
Then decide to scrap them and just use the humans on their own ships lol
I imagine in the context of killed everyone on board lol
I bet Tau have like, those tug boats that pull giant ships but for FTL travel
Also because the Votaan are significantly more competent.
Than the imperium
Like Ed said, they would have scrapped the ships because it's not a good one
Imperium ships fucking blow economics wise lmao
Tau are smart enough to reverse engineer ork tech
Oh yeah speaking off, did you meet the Navigator?
In rogue trader
||the one in the chair or her
, I just finished the combat servitor fight.||
||the lady Navigator||
Almost there
good, I will tell you something when you meet her
Do not touch the gills
Couldn't they replace the slave labour with drones or suits?
Temporarily? Probs
imperial ships also have this thing called a machine spirirt
giant machines like that tend to have very violent machine spirits
Worse case, ships fucked
I wouldn't surprise the drones somehow disappear
because the ship decided to electrocute them
queek headtaker moment
I wonder if GW will make a digganobz kill team.
some items dont get auto cargoed like the void ship trophies
not sure why but you can right click and automark i think
how about these nazi imagery? nooo those are from rome, how about skulls? nope they signify self sacrifice and devotion. how about iron cross? those are before nazis! krieg gasmasks, even their name is german? nope they have french ww1 uniform. uhhm, commissar uniforms look suspiciously like ss uniforms? those are russian uniforms.
I'm not sure if we're actually looking for nazi imagery in places where they have various historical references or it's a blatant parody and fanbase goes on with too much copium
Basically the only blatant nazi-esque imagery is the aquilla
anything else would be commercial suicide lol
the actions the Imperium does on the other hand tho uhhh 💀
Its a parody but alot of it is perceptual and a problem with peoples association of symbolism
Take the swastika for example
like i said once
" how much does genocide and committing crimes like it's eating breakfast qualifies as a human trait? "
The original meaning is nothing nazi related but thats now the current association when people see that symbol
Yeah but the issue is the aquilla is intentionally made to be a sharp and hostile symbol.
Its not modelled after any historical eagles which just looked cool and royal in a sense.
Especially compared to something like Warhammer Fantasy
Yeah i just read that comment as "imperium of man definitely arent nazis"
warhammer fantasy wasn't safe as well
You remember the P word don't you witch hunter?
To be fair thats just british people being racist

also not understanding other cultures
orks are pretty british
that explains a lot

100% i would say, there comes a time in every person's lives where they have the human urge to commit atrocity
me grinding plasteel just to upgrade a weapon that Hadron inevitably just butcher
Now you know
which sentence do you think fits the seer(beloved) psyker the most?
Are there power katanas in 40k or just swords xd?
cant seem to find one i was hoping that the khan might have one lol
his look more like scimitars
ye he use da scimmy
Is there a first-among-equals among the Inquisitors? Who leads the Inquisition ultimately
iirc each ordo has a grandmaster whom oversees the ordo but no one single one who is in charge of all the inquisitor ordos
high inquisitor i think . but i think theres a few, not sure xd
custodes probably have the final say
It entirely depends on power levels
It's not dissimilar to like, old republic sith lol
There are an Inquisitorial Council
There is one that is at the table with the High Lord iirc
but they're not an inquisitor in rank right?
The Inquisitorial Representative is a title held by one of the High Lords of Terra, who sits on the Senatorum Imperialis on behalf of the Inquisition. Nominated from amongst the Inquisitor Lords of the sectors that surround holy Terra, these individuals are often referred to as the Inquisitor Lord Terran.[1]
Nominated from amongst the Inquisitor Lords of the sectors that surround holy Terra, these individuals are often referred to as the Inquisitor Lord Terran
Seem like they are
right just opened the page as well
could an inquisitor use his gene coded vermillion acess codes to enter my house and drink my coffee
absolutely
What im looking for, THANKS
For the Ranks of the Inquisitors: https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Inquisitor#Ranks
Inquisitors are members of the Inquisition, the organization responsible for investigating and dealing with all potential threats to the Imperium and to humanity.[1a]
Just wanna drop this here before new years
Happy purgin holidays everyone
im 72 hours in for rogue trader and I just completed act 3
Abelard Matching a Custodes because you said so
If human history, to this point, bothers you, the Grim Dark far future is maybe not for you.

Woohoo we can make it reality!
id rather we dont
who would want a hive city to be real, that shit is a nightmare to build and maintain
And a shit living place for most people
anyone know some good examples of rogue traders and inquisitors working together or crossing paths?
do space marines fly their own gunships and stomravens and stormraptors and things
yes
are they just like, regular space marines, or do they have their own designation/rank as pilots
Why are power fists in the shape of a hand?
because sometimes just having a fancy Electric boxing glove is good enough
Because they’re called power fists
Not power clubs
Also it provides some level of dexterity
And let’s them grapple with stuff
yeah, having double power fists and not plot armor is what allowed calgar to strangle a swarmlord
or was it an avatar of khaine
It’s just a style of fighting
But they do increase strength and the power of your hits
Plus his are an extra special pair
Hey decking someone with hands is effective, just. Have the thunder boxing gloves to make it hurt more
Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth
They're normally techmarines in training, or fully trained techmarines
Also they might use servitors to pilot and crew vehicles
They'll all serve under the master of the forge
Might be good but hey, those are nothing compared to Hunger and Slake
Yeah i don't even know his true height anymore
And hunger and slake are just lightning and power fists combined they’re not that special, the Fists of Ultramar are made of some nutty material
He’s a head taller than his regular terminators
Which is tall but
He’s not fucking dreadnought sized
They're power claws with underslung chainfists
Yeah his armor just uses parts from a dreadnought
It doesn’t
And also really ancient relic weapons, probably using some nutty power fields or something
They’re just chainfists with lightning claws, it’s an old STC which was lost, they’re cool but they’re more a gimmick
It doesn't?
No
They're not standard issue weapons though?
The fanbase vastly over exaggerates everything with Tyberos
I didn’t say they were
They were made using an old STC which is lost
Jesus they even said that about him
Fuckin people
I like him
But fuck me do people overwank him
He barely does anything in the books or appears
STC = as standard issue as you can get
Yeah because it was lost
I do hope GW just makes him that big at some point in the future because I want to see this man use a world eater as a chew toy
I've not read anything saying they're STC weapons
Everything says they're relics with unknown origin
They probs belonged to the raven guard legion captain who was exiled in the HH
It’s in his Forgeworld stuff as far as I recall
So badarse custom weapons
The sharks are pretty overhyped, aren't their books also meh?
They’re ok
Very edgy
Tyberos barely shows up
Once again I don’t dislike him or them I dislike how much they get wanked
Going back to this apparently it's adamantine
But this one is apparently way to tough
Sure, it's just the opposite of what everything says about them
Like people always act like Tyberos is somehow always in the discussion of “best fighters” for the Imperium when he does fuck all
His most impressive thing is when he boards the Nid pod
Which is cool
Id say the books are worth reading, they're pretty cool
But I don’t know where people get off that he’s the bestest fightiest guy ever
Moloc is similar but he at least has a Shield Captain hype him up a bit
And he does more in the Forgeworld books
But he does look cool
Both of them have great looks
Carchardons tend to get flanderized by the fanbase though
Fans really need to stop making up information to make characters look way better than what they are
Jesus warhammer appears way too complicated because people can't be fucked with accepting the truth
People don’t read
It’s how it do be
People still insist Corax is a daemon crow dude now
When the one short we have of that Lorgar literally says “It’s not a daemon”
And all the powers he shows are things that Raven Guard Librarians do just a little more amped up
In fairness Divine Magic and Rune Magic in Fantasy still are based on the Wind of Magic (Meaning, on the Warp/Chaos)
That has nothing to do with him now being a daemon or whatever
If he’s a daemon so is every psyker
He just unlocked his psychic potential fully
Which we’ve seen other primarch do without ascending
To similar results
Guilliman talks about how he could probably do it too but chooses not to
Oh in that sense, yes he isn't a Daemon
is techpriest a general term that include enginseers and magos?
Tech Priest is a rank
Magos are the highest/ruling class, then there are Tech Priest, then Tech Adepts and Tech Cultists
@dusk patrol I think... well this is just me trying to rationalize it. But Corvax definitely did mutate while being in the warp. And while Lorgar does say it "Not a Daemon" he is warp fucked to a point where it's like a Grey area. He's like, just under the boundary between what makes a daemon and what doesnt.
Enginseers are mostly tech priests yes
Once they got to Magos rank they’re generally beyond being an Enginseer
They’re basically high level repair and maintenance dudes
Tbh, I find it hard to call techpriests humans anymore
They seem like lovely xenos who generally support the imperium
A good portion of that though is how the lore is provided. The only way to hear a true idea of the story is to read if not every book, the vast majority at least. There's no consensus to everything, and GamesWorkshop themselves ham up the nonomnicient observer to the point I think a good portion of people don't even try. They're told their headcannon is valid because of it, so they stick to it
I mean we can have our theories but what we see is he’s himself, just with his powers awakened
The story isn’t even that long after the heresy
I meant the 40k's story in general. And if I'm not mistaken we don't see him at all in the book. It's all other people talking about him
But I could be wrong
Have you even read the short?
If I'm honest no, I specifically hadn't just cause it seemed kinda out there and inconsistent. Wasn't a big fan of the idea of it in the first place
It’s not inconsistent at all
Just going off my understanding second hand from people that claimed to
It’s just no one reads this stuff
And just say stuff without knowing anything about it
Tech priest refers to anyone that is part of the Cult Mechanicus priesthood
Engineer, Techno Archeolgist, ect.
^
Magos are still techpriests technically same with Arch Magos it’s just a higher rank and level of expertise
Kinda like how technically a Cardinal is still a priest or member of the clergy
Okay ya that was my impression, just making sure.
Does the imperium reward skill and valor? Like if you join the guard as a conscript and someone survive for years and fight and lead well will you achieve a very high rank or is it more about your bloodline and status to see how far you can go?
Both
Probably varies from regiment to regiment, many planets out there
but skill and valor is also sometimes rewarded by getting taken out back and shot
^
Generally speaking most of the big regiments that you see on the tabletop reward skill and valor
Yeah I was wondering about that part
“You are making the rest of us look bad!”
disobeying orders as well
Or “you shouldn’t be doing this well, have you made a deal with the ruinous powers?”
Do kriegers get paid
they get leave, so yes
Maybe?
Hmmm
Don’t really know what they’d do on leave
Interesting
But all regiments except for penal ones get leave
What tends to matters at the end of the day is results
Obviously this isn’t always the case
But generally speaking no matter who you are if you fail enough you’re fucked
And if you win and succeed enough, you tend to rise
AFAIK, the economy of 40k hasn't ever really been touched on. That said, with Darktides hive having a red light district, there does seem to be some form of payment alloted to the populace, be they soldiers or common hivespeople. I'm sure it's not much though. And leave isn't payment, it's technically a benefit. Benefits are not considered part of base pay, and they are not monetary. However, they do comprise the other half of employee's total compensation package. Benefits can include health insurance, pet insurance, commuting benefits, family benefits, PTO, student loan assistance, and retirement plans and packages.
There’s cases of people born with auramite spoons rising, and falling, and the same for people from nothing
It’s just not consistent is why
There’s not even a true central currency
And we know there is there are multiple types of currency in the Imperium
Some planets have all those things some don’t
@dusk patrol yes there is. The gelt
But it is the imperial currency lol
No, it's the one sanctioned by the Imperium and minted by them..
The point is it varies by world, regiment, system, and so on
The others are minted by their own worlds
Dude there’s a ton of others we see in different areas
In different series
Not just worlds
Large areas
There isn’t a consistent currency.
Yea, and none of them were minted and sanctioned by the Imperium but the gelt
Yes they are jfc
Prove it
You prove yours first lol
Find a single reference that any other currency is sanctioned
Eisenhorn uses Thrones
Lol everybody knows the gelt is sanctioned
Crowns I believe is another is other series
Dude guardsmen are literally paid in thrones in some books
There is not one currency
To illustrate ER's point, this is the first time I've heard about gelt
But I know aquilas and thrones
There is more popular ones
Oh thank the gods I thought I was the only one
Throne Gelt is the name of one of the types of monetary currency in use in the Imperium of Man in the 41st Millennium, though currency of a similar name had been used as far back as the time of the Horus Heresy in some regions of the Imperium.
Gelt is another name for thrones
No I really don’t care about your opinion
Ok whatever you wanna think
I've genuinely never seen gelt used though
So unfortunately it doesn't care about your feelings
@green loom lol well, there ya go. It was used.
I'm not finding references to it
Because they’re never called gelts
Throne gelt is literally the name
Beyond one "Saint of Coin"
I've heard Throne, not gelt
I'm finding "Thrones" but no "Throne gelt"
Thrones also aren't minted by "The Imperium" proper
They're the currency used in the Calixis sector and spread out from there
Thank you...
Nobody keeps track of this SHIT
@crisp heath I thought they were. I could be wrong there
We need 40k Spice and Wolf ASAP
I’m not contesting that Throne gelt is a thing I’m saying there’s no one currency everyone uses really because it changes so much depending on the area
Credits will do fine.
Basically
Im sure plenty of members from solid militarum regiments spend their leave like you'd imagine a normal person would
And I literally never disagreed but you fought that anyway

Yeah you did
did someone say, 40k spice and wolf
You literally did but I have zero interest in dragging this bullshit out
Which chaos god is most likely to put a daemon in a washing machine so it can steal socks, rags and underwear
Anyway im waiting 6 hours for my next flight, stop fighting please 💀
For ONE DAY please get along
No I didn't. I simply said there was an imperial sanctioned currency. I also very clearly said that there were many multiple other kinds.

So we have 6 hours til we can fight no holds barred?
A dryer is also acceptable
Tzeentch, without a doubt
But a high level barter system is the more common way people really trade in 40k
Tit for tat and all that
I like that Rogue Trader doesn't even bother
It just gives you a nondescript "Purchasing power" thing lol
well, khorne...just no. Slaanesh could get creative with undergarments and washing mashines. Nurgle is allergic to anything associated with hygiene, so tzeentch is the only viable answer yes
Yeah each profit factor point is some untold fortune for most normies
Rogue Trader be like: we measure your wealth in orders of magnitude you can never hope to spend
It would be great to be a rogue trader and just be like, "uhhhh, i got 20 bucks and some old gum I can trade you?"
"Hey do you want to just live as a noble?" - -1 profit factor
I recall something like that being a choice
Although also it’s somehow only worth like 2 mutants
And you need to spend 3 for like six
So, I had a lore question. We know nurgle has imprisoned the Eldar god of Life or something, right? Like it's a weird love thing? How corrupted do we think she's become? I'd like a story showing that maybe... like what millenia trapped with the Grandfather as his guinea pig will do lol...
There’s a codex excerpt of some Farseers trying to free her
But we don’t get any first hand stuff mostly
She isn't corrupted, maybe insane?
Whole reason he grabbed her was for an infinite test bed for his diseases since she can cure everything
Like, say they do. Wonder what pops out that cage
I interpret most of the events that cost you PF to not just include the thing you are purchasing/doing but also the wider economic implications, that is, how it will affect other areas of your trade empire as well as cost of maintenance
Just general references
I highly doubt she's all kumbaya lol
just IMAGINE it
It seems she’s resilient to all his plagues
He uses her to test them
And she tries to whisper cures to people
Right. But resilient doesn't mean immune
Isha, and no there is not love
And she's been there awhiiiile
She always heals is the point
He doesn’t seem to want to corrupt her
If he can
If she is or isn’t we can’t say but it doesn’t seem she is
Isha isn't the Godess of Life, she's the goddess of Having a Really Shit Day
Nothing good has ever happened to Isha in either setting lmao
Basically
I thought it was like a weird admiration thing going on with nurgle. Like he, in his own chaos way, desired her or something, because they were opposite sides of the same coin
He likes abusive relationships
At least in Fantasy she isn't captured by Nurgle
His treatment of her is pretty consistent with his treatment of his followers
"At least" my brother in the Emperor she got captured by Khaine
Which he also supposedly loves
Not in a way that anyone would like
Then got freed though
It’s abusive “love”
And being captured by Kaine still must be better than being with Nurgle 💀
Lol very true, but hey, we don't choose how we are loved by others lol
He makes them suffer and then takes away the pain in return for service and worship
And Isha never got a choice lolol
If the choice is between Nurgle and Khaine you have to decide if you'd rather have chlamydia or skin
Sounds like my dad, ngl
Lolol
He does the same to Isha but she doesn’t get the release
I'm dead, but that's true lol
@dusk patrol well of course not. She keeps healing and denying nurgles gifts! Of course she hasn't gotten release yet
I remember an excerpt of some plague marines getting near a blank and then shooting themselves/falling apart
Forget what it's from
Honestly I think bringing more "partial" gods to the tabletop would be a great idea to move some minis
Cadian gateiirc
It’s a psyk out bomb
wdymn partial?
During the Plague Wars
With the Black stone Pillars
It wasn’t those I don’t think
Just was something I was curious about
Imagine an 'echo of Isha' or whatever that's like, this giant rotting waifu
Maybe it happened there too but it was a psyk out bomb in the 500 worlds
It'd look dope
You ever experience a depressive haze?
Like Mortarion but she's an elf girl
That's more or less what nurglites are under 24/7
Exactly where my mind went
Isha lolol^^
Nah bride of Frankenstein has too much skin
Skin privileges: revoked
🤣 🤣
Fair fair
Isha escapes
Backfires
We now have Eldar vampires
🤣
If you've ever seen Sankarea, imagine that scene where she falls off the cliff and gets basically unzipped, and then just stands up and proceeds to flirt
That's MY Isha
@green loom @celest dome
Hahaha ha yes!!!!
Typo spotted
Not only were they were inimical
can avatars of khaine talk?
I'd think so. They just probably have little needs for words. Like, they are capable of speech, certainly. But they also are the literal epitome of embodying rage. So like... the only noises they're vocalizing are probably roars and such
Probably
They can be choked, so probably
I don’t think we have examples but I wouldn’t be shocked if they can
Just not big talkers
It's not an avatar of Khaine, but we know for sure his demons can talk. Look at Samus.
So I'd think they are at least capable of it
Just an example of a khorne demon that can't shut up
So like, we know his demons can talk at least
Oh I'm stunted... excuse me
Yes he is a khorne demon
I got korne and khaine mixed up. My bad
Idk how you could ever do that
They’re not similar at all
Ones called Khaine
And the other is Khorne
They're both red I guess
Not the 1st one to do so
Completely different
One is angry all the time and the other is angry all the time too
No similarity (Do not look at their hats)
Bro fuck off I'm really getting tired of your bs. Literally everyone has done it at some point. They're literally written to be confused with one another
I’m making a joke
Yeah ? Why angry ?
About how they’re super similar
It doesn't come across as joking
I don't think Samus is khornate anyway
He is though
I believe he is
Didn't Khaine even use to be Khorne in old Dark Elf lore
But he’s a weird one
He doesn’t come across as Khornate
Ruinstorm daemons are weird though
Lexi mark him as a Ruinstorm Daemon
Yeah
But not as Khorne for some reason (As in no mention of Khorne in his page)
I’d have to find the book but he is mentioned to be Khorne I believe in one of the Forgeworld books
Apparently he has the Keyword for Khorne
Yeah
Like I said he doesn’t read as Khornate but Ruinstorm stuff is weird
And of course Khorne can be
I didnt know the eye of terror was once aeldari central
Atypical
Yeah that’s why it exists
Chaos daemon.
@summer mural yep, It was made when Slanesh was born
No one expects the Spanish.
Took out like, over 75% of Eldar space if I'm not mistaken
Basically what Terra will end up as at some point
Lol thanks for catching that
any good lore podcasts on spotify?
I love em
Over 99% i would guess
Dude there’s a space marine unit that used them alongside literal miniature jet engine jet packs and swords that explode (turning the user into a bloody pulp) if overcharged
Was just suicide tbh
It's not Spotify, and it's kinda casual, but Isyander & Koda on YouTube have a Playlist where they do long format, podcast style talks about 40k lore
Idk about Spotify though
yeah, data at work is unavailable at my job and they block wifi so was looking for a spotify so i can download it thanks though
If I was to make a new Vet to match Jurgen from the Caiphus cain novels which personality do you all think would match best? The profesional or the Loose cannon?
I knew none of them matched fairly well but I just wanted to figure which is like even remotely similar too
Maybe the professional but idk
Still too loud, but your best bet
And what are we thinking weapons wise? I know he mainly uses just a standard lasrifle or melta, can do the next best thing with a plasma gun or Kantrael lasrifle. Cannot recall what sort of melee weapons he ever uses.
ooo it's being featured in the book requiem infernal
i dont know if i wanna spoiler it though
i think about that scene from time to time. really abysmal
You know I think the reason people don't like ultra marines is because they are afraid to admit how AWESOME THEY ARE!!!!!!!!
It's due to a long history of mediocre space marine books and a shitty fandom meme that gets propagated by virtually every major content creator
ultramarines aren't bad but basically the above
also matt ward
bless our spiritual liege
if you like vanilla space marines with a roman aesthetic then ultramarines
i personally think the other chapters/legions are more interesting
The real trick is they're all uninteresting
true
no real flaw, barely any personality, no unique culture, saturation seeing blue boys everywhere every release, ultra-ultramarines-ultramar name convention is dumb but well w40k names are dumb so whatever
They’re by far one of the most unique chapters and have a ton of character
In no small part due to overrepresentation
I can get not liking how much they pop up
But their main chars as of now are solidish
But they’re not at all lacking in character or uniqueness
Like the old calgars books were dog water iirc
His comic is great tbh, their old books are hit or miss
But after his comic he's not uninteresting
Ventris is all good imo
Knights of Macragge is decently epic
Cato has a bad rep but he's like, the archetypal hothead protag lol
I get people not liking them don’t get me wrong I just don’t think people have a lot of fair criticisms beyond “they’re the face” a lot of times
It’s not all good but a lot of their characters have pretty interesting stuff
Recent stuff especially
Tigurius, Cato, Calgar, Ventris in particular for me
Also uh Cassius is fun
Titus we’ll see
The new primaris dudes are fun too
Grimdank mfers will make fun of UM for being bland then go and stan Generic McShootyman as a good character
Being real a lot of 40k characters are one note, and that’s ok
Most don’t get expanded on a ton
And there’s only so many ways you can do all these different guys
A ton are literally just “this is McKickass Badassicus” for this faction
Like I love Drazhar and Lelith but that’s their only thing really
Theyre the bestest swords guys for the Drukhari
Lelith has a couple other things more but mostly her whole deal is just chasing that best fight
I can already tell SM2 dialogue will compete with Raven's Cry
I’m looking forward to it
Based off what we’ve seen
Especially the set pieces
It seems to have the scale down well
Which is something a lot of 40k games struggle with for understandable reasons
Like the tiny ass crowds in Rogue Trader.
Which I get but
You know
Yeah I like what I see so far
Hopefully it maintains that
A massive planet of billions at war should look like a massive planet of billions at war
I'm more excited for the whining tbh since I'm a spiteful asshole
Probably gonna be Chaos fans
Maybe Nid fans when Titus kills a swarmlord or something
Space marine fans because the trim is 0.01 CM off
Not sure how often the Swarmlord needs to be killed by decidedly not primarch level things before people on Reddit realize, maybe it’s not actually a primarch level threat in combat and its purpose is mostly to adjust strategy
Unironically I doubt any of that is gonna be an issue
As soon as I noticed they made the guardsman’s eyes purple and the specific details on the armor, these mfers did their homework
The only bad thing I saw for SM 2 is the Plasma Pistol.
That's not a 40k one
Nitpicking doe
Minor details which are hard to catch like that for no other reason than for dumbasses like me
I also expect people comaplimgin g it isn't grimdark enough
There's always at least one
Eh idc. If it’s a good game which gets the atmosphere mostly right I’m down.
People will always piss and moan
I’ll probably have some quibbles myself
I’m not expecting the best game ever
I just want it to be a good Space Marine sequel
And maybe to have a good MP
We’ll see, if it’s like Space Marine 2 but updated like I saw I’ll be happy
I'm alright with it being 20ish hours decent combat with SM toys. I just hope they tweak that one finisher he holding his hand out and a tyranid jumps on it to get choked
Also it got delayed for a reason
I’m not accepting any opinions on its gameplay until people are playing the gold copy
it's most likely delayed because they haven't finished chaos side yet
Probably a lot of bugs and what not, I expect Multiplayer is an issue too
Who knows, regardless I just hope it’s good.
As long as co-op campaign is solid and another fun wave mode, all good.
Gunplay and melee was pre fun in the first one
If nothing more than to prove that higher budget 40k games are worth investing in
So what feats do you need to have to be much resistant to chaos
Do you just be holy and have strong faith
blessed artifacts are also helpful
wards and holy trinkets
But in general resisting chaos is quite a hard feat
The indomitable human spirit.
Oh so thats how to be resistant if not immune to chaos
Just have unbreakable will and faith
I dunno about immune
Dunno what word to choose other than immune
You're probably not outright immune but being really faithful and having blessed trinkets will definitely help
I guess that explains it
Been thinking on how the rejects manage to not fall into chaos
Plot armor
Got my answer now grahha
The purple corruption meter bar:
🟪🟪🟪 🟪🟪🟪 🟪🟪🟪
My allies kill my faith in the Imperium better than the enemy do at this point
Literally
Watching 3 pyskers run the opposite direction and getting downed because a bunch of crushers separated them (hi intensity shock troop malice)
Grey knights are probably the most resistant
They have a lot of holy stuff protecting them
They are literally killing daemons for emperor knows how long
and of course they are all psykers trained in anti corruption measures
One of them killed a daemon prince (iirc)
Yeah you need really two things only to be at least resistant to chaos, some blessed holy items to act as a ward against the corruption and of course good old faith
It won't make you immune but hey better than accidentally turning into chaos spawn first minute of exposure
they use an equally effective method. learning everything that works against it while not learning anything about the real thing
What is a good way to get started with 40k lore? ( Idk anything)
I recommend the orks
Don't listen or join those dumb dumb imperium
Join the orks
Join the boyz
https://youtu.be/05YRMHWtv1Y?si=02h5rWUb6gkSBG4G this video should help
So, what universe is Warhammer 40,000 set in? Ours, of course! After a friend asked just that question, I wrote this; a short guide to how the 21st century turns into the 41st Millennium.
And FINE. 21 minutes. :/

very easy to digest and fun
some easy to digest one like bricky's all factions video or weshammer timeline, from there some popular and general books like eisenhorn series or infinite and divine, then looking up whatever you want
Bricky is unfortunately not the best at explaining lore sometimes
yeah, probably one of the bad ones but his one specific video is great for hyping up the setting for beginners
and one advice a lot of people seems to forget: don't take it too seriously, it's supposed to be over the top and satirical. have fun
Is it true, that orc technology is basicly just them believing hard enough?
still has actual components in it it's just built like it's a house in detroit
The power of belief can be activated if there's enough orks there to believe it
the ork belief just acts as some kind of duct tape that holds it together and makes it work
If one ork believes a log is a cannon its not gonna work
But if there's a thousand of them then yea
No reality breaking stuff like that would require a lot more
Not even 1000 orks would make a log fire laser
But don't forget orks are not canonically dumb
They are smart they just act dumb
Well
There is some that are dumb
their power of belief is stronger with their numbers and they are smarter and less likely to believe reality breaking stuff
Youre right
1000 is not enough
40k orks should suffice
so yes and no, their tech doesn't work as intended in the hands of other races but they should be logical enough
Buuut
Someone toild me a story about some space marine being cornered with no ammo left so he just went out, guns blazing and shoúting "RATATATATATA" and someone still killed the orcs, since they believed he had deadly ammo. Not sure if thats canon though ^^
like a broken gun not blowing up in their hands
Well
The ork weaponry will not work when other races uses it
Buut
If an ork sees someone using their own weapons its going to work considering ork technology requires orks to be around in order to work
If an orky tank strays away from a group of orks its going to stop working
sstrength in numbers and whatnot x)
You don't require orks while it helps stabilize the tech you can just fill in the missing pieces to make it work
yarrick the biggest example of this
so if it works, it works. if it looks like it should work and orks believe it works, it works around orks. if there are enough orks around, they get smart enough to make working stuff
all their technology are made from literal scrap
Think about how they manage to work it out from scrap
Also ork colors
Ork abilities basically act as psychic duct-tape
they cant "believe" things into reality
They can help things along though
Yeah they need a medium on which the belief works through
Reality grease
For example if the orks believe that this bullet will hit the target weak point it has a higher chance of hitting the weak point
it's explained with waaagh how these guys with childlike brains manage to build working bomber planes. it's a miracle by itself but still in the realm of possibilities
reality bending stuff is more on the chaosy side or geriatric robots with advanced tech magic
Me and the Boyz escaping with a stolen imperium ship (it has no fuel)
oh no you just said it has no fuel
those puny gitz can't tell high octane space fuel from water anyway
wait a second
I just realized
the emperor made a werewolf and a vampire from his geneseed

That was more warp fuckery from being stolen by chaos

He also made a bird boy
Mmm
Well
Just remember
One of his sons is black
Not to say it in a skin color term he's literally jet black
I wish the primarchs remained mythical and dead for a lack of better terms. Now they all seem like teenagers with daddy issues and I gotta hear about who had the best space dad all the time lol
his sons are generally quite funny, but theres an actual red guy, a greyish black guy, an asian , a vampire, a werewolf, another guy with wings
Sure but vulkan stands out the most for looking absolutely different from his brotyers
We should remedy this by killing them all
guilliman lives upto his hype, plot armor aside
Primarch spam shall continue $$$$

As the famous goff rocker once said, gullimam ran away
rest in peace forever Jaghatai 🙏
I just need my little bird boy
sang?
What did necrons look like before they turned into robots
I'll feed his corpse to the Tyranids
please, blood angels and salamanders probably my fav chapters, but sang is the primarch I never want back
Old men
Roughly imagine skin draped over their skeletal forms
All wrinkles
their skull shapes were different geometrically
same as the necron skeleton
Afaik
I wish, try finding a game without a center piece space dad in it these days it's really lame. Magnus, Morty and the lion are all over. I don't wanna spend 4 turns shooting one big dude until he dies it's annoyin. Kinda why I hate custodes as well
Everyone playing space marines is just something I've come to accept now
WAAAGH
STUPID BEAKIE GITZ
WAAAAGH
You should join the cooler setting 😎
^ no, join the orkz instead. there's no such thing as bad or tragic endings we here to have a good time
Im keeping that meme ty
Good thing that turned into a robot
They are slowly going extinct
Aos or fantasy because one has little lore being a few years old and the other is just dead. I will say aos has cool models and lack of marines aside from chaos warriors and stormcast but I feel like that isn't as big a deal lol
Guys
Fantasy is back
Makes sense
How does one dokboy heal an ork
But tbh both
do you mean painboy.
Well old world is back yeah but tbh isn't isn't going to have a lot of factions from fantasy and it's setting is a bit different so only immortal characters will be around. I also miss out on my druchii so I'm sad
Yeah orks have amazing regenration anyways being mushrooms.
But usually painboys are there to "Re attach" dismembered limbs that maybe an ork really likes or he cant afford a cyber arm from a MEK
is that your new years party?
Painboy medicine is the classic old medicine, chop their legs and replace it with a new one or reattach it
There's people there so no
oh dear.
Come play darkling covens + daughters of khaine
I love the ork faction
Lmao new years party I've not left my house for anything but work and school for like 5 years
No but I'd absolutely volunteer to be a painboy
Daughters of Khaine are one of the AoS factions that I hope get an update next, they need it since they've only got like 5 units.
Dok are really cool I'll admit. I actually have a lumineth army. I'm a major elf simp. The slaanesh mortals look cool as well
yes, painboyz tend to experiment on their subjects a lot
yeah usually when orks go on a trip to a painboy, they wake up their limbs kinda attached but barely and theylle be missing a "few" teeth as payment
and often results in fatalities
I'm ideally going to start Hedonites at some point, love the Painbringers and daemon models
A teethless ork (and literally also missing their teeth) is a broke ork
There was literally a pain boy taking quote " a little bit off the top " from his war boss from each surgery and he adds the parts he had taken from his war boss onto himself, when the war boss noticed it was already too late because now he was a lot bigger
I'm currently invested in my eldar but once that does down I'll move back to my lumineth and my high elves for tow

I was lucky and got a bunch of tow models for cheap
ork shed and grow teeth like sharks
I can post em in minis one sec
I kinda want to grab a Bretonnian kit
so they don't even have to worry about missing a few
If you dont have teeth then you probably a dead ork by then
more teef
foods and weapons and gear
I know some orks have a society of their own
those are like the three things they care about
do orks get cannibalistic
Orks produce teeth like spit if they want to, plus the bigger the ork, the bigger the teeth so the more rich he is
and also some fancy Gubbins
Yes
@storm jungle Someone is trying to start a Witch Hunt on you on the Forum
They eat the lil runtz
Gretchen
they eat gretchin as snacks
They don't really cannibalise other orks unless absolutely necessary
But they consider them as emergency food
Fuckin Christ
They dont naturally get hungry (or so I believe) since their only food source is fighting, fighting, and more fighting
Yeah I assumed so
Is there a reason?
I think its my forgeworld joke
so when do i get my prize on the bet we made?

Yea it's the CrazyAngel dude from earlier
Forgeworld joke?
Can I get a link to the page

Ye, haven't reported it yet though
Wow that guy did not read any other message lol
I really wish corsairs were more relevant like elf space pirates are cool
Why was the angel dude banned ? Or not allowed to tell ?
They finally got 3 page lore section in the latest eldar codex so
They at least have a kill team and unit now
Literally pinged DIlara just to scream at her
Though they were probably last most relevant in BFG
That she's wrong on what she said
On the joke
damn that's a world record ban speed run
In BFG originally, the Eldar fleet was corsairs and got the most models, and Craftworlds came later and had fewer models
So corsairs were the main Eldar BFG faction technically
Can I post that in the thread ? Want to have fun ?
Bruh i just looked at the post, you have thoroughly ruffled this mans feathers with that remark

IT WAS LITERALLY JUST A JOKE
LMAO
Dilara is the last person who'd judge you for spending large amounts of cash on stuff
bro there are a Mob of Idiots forming around that person
I have my own misgivings about the premnium shop but damn going full balistic after a joke,
Just don't ask her how much art she has
I bought the valhallan skin for my vet because they are my fav regiment 😔 I got the ushanka aswell I'm the problem
I DONT EVEN LIKE THE SHOP TOO
I just got the rouge trader because holy hell the quickdraw revolver slaps.
it's fun to unload bullets in front of you
Just for clarification, he isn't banned, just timed out ?
Its sad we only have 5 loadout slots,
I just buy whatever looks cool and drippy
ive got a build for every regiment i like
If its not cool and drippy I aint buying it
I really shouldn't be buying cosmetics in any video game but I had some Christmas money so I did
holding right click and suddenly getting 80% crit chance is
Can I have 15 bucks ;3
I'm skating the poverty line I couldn't
I spent my christmas bonus getting a 3d printer, best investment i had in years
Still funny
You should defo 3d print your DT reject
Make em strike a pose
I spent most of my money on bills catch up and rent lol so I could save money for latter
why print a reject, when i can become a reject
You cant be a reject if you aint got the prisoner garbs
btw lore proportional Bolt weapons are HUGE AS HECK
they are
Yea but which type are we talking aboot
I printed a bolt pisotl in 5 parts used up half my filament
Human sized, space, or primaris
Come tp think of it
Aren't the made-for-humans bolt guns basically used by the adeptus sorroritas
They should probably start handing out exitus rifles and pistols to the militarum
instead of keeping them vindicare exclusive
in fact, get rid of all the assassins except the eversor
lmao what'd you say that got bro so heated
I didnt even realise hes using the forums
He's doubling down, saying that you're backpedalling because you got called out
he truly is an imperial fan
I am a true believer of gork and mork the master of mankind
Bruh i cant deal with this shit

Can you ban him off the forums for running a witch hunt
Bruh that MeEmperor dude is being even worse
Oh my god what is happening in there
It's just descended into pronouns at this point
jesus i just peeked 💀
Holy fuck
felt like he needed back up, drop podded directly into that shit

My guy is going IN
say, wouldn't it be funny, if someone was to go to twitter right now and say a guy is attacking someone for just displaying their pronouns
I mean I wouldt go that far
but the results would be predictable

i am just kidding
Im gonna be honest
I'm not that much of a bastard
i know i gotchu
I'm pretty queer but half the reason I include my pronouns is I know it also gets bigots mad when they see it.

that gender reveal debuff is pretty meta
Damage over time that gets inflicted just by looking at it
While all this was happening, just got done slicing these "Legally Distinct" gas mask soldiers
I cannot take pronouns display seriously because whenever i see he/him, The Lion Sleeps Tonight starts playing in my head

BRO I literally have the same problem
either that or i just read it in michales jackson's voice
HEE HEE
NAWIN NAWEH NAWIN NAWEH
AHHHIIIIEEEEEEEEEE
bro is pulling out recipts
i am about to be rich
will you print the holo too
now THIS is backpedalling so hard, the clutch broke
Omw to add "she/her" to my name just to annoy more people
yes sir, its on a diffirent file

I wonder what general is yapping about
someone complaining that rebel moon is blatant plagiarism of 40k
idk what rebel moon is
It's a legally distinct Snyder star wars
Saying Rebel moon is 40k plagiarism is insulting to the 20 other stories that Rebel Moon actually plagiarises
That just takes a lot of scifi/fantasy/fascist tropes
Like 40k
So coincidentally gives off similar vibes to 40k
so it's doing nothing wrong, ok
Yeah
(might be a dogshit movie tho haven't seen it)
Beyond just being, pretty plain I guess
Legally it's not doing anything wrong, but it's a very bad movie
Not because it isn't original, it's just not good
I've seen a lot of wojak tier reactions to them saying "imperium" and "mechanicam Militarum" like these aren't mostly shitty latin terms, and the latter very blatantly wanting to be "Droid army"
It does that thing where they introduce 9 main characters and then half of them have like two lines in the entire movie
