In fact he's got probably the biggest character arc of any character, or one of the biggest.
People just don't read
And also "Omigerd poor Magnus who fucked up at every single turn he made."
Very true, personally I find his interactions with lion throughout the whole thing very telling
From the beginning to the end
The whole thing is a big death of innocence for him too, he naively believes for a long time that his brothers care about their relationship and their bond and that they can be saved and brought back over.
Its why he fucks up most of the time.
See, that gets semi ruined by him being a part of the deletion of two legions
He thinks he can convince Magnus to surrender, although that was another thing too, he thinks he can get Angron to stop with the nails, he thinks he can make Horus his old self again, he doesn't realize the Lion is taking their fight seriously.
There was a lot of people involved in that and it was engineered to happen like that by a lot of very powerful figures.
With tools they had no idea even existed.
To act like it was Russ who caused that to happen is silly.
Sure, but given that he was a primarch
Wasn't only one wiped out by Russ anyway
He was involved to a rather high degree
The Tsons were always doomed unfortunately.
As was Magnus way more so, and Horus beyond both of them.
Horus knew enough to confront malc about it
And tbh I don't feel like any of them cared much about the actual dissipation
More them being hurried
*buried
Also the legions didn't get deleted and we don't know what happened to the primarchs of them.
Didn't Russ hint that the space wolves were involved during the whole Prospero thing?
The legions got absorbed by the Ultramarines and Imperial Fists, and maybe more, its not super clear.
No
Frankly speaking, we know jack about the lost legions.
And GW mostly keeps it that way.
Oh well
Russ either doesn't remember, or had nothing to do with them being lost.
Coulda been related to the World Eaters too
There's endless theories. The Rangdan being a part of one being destroyed is one.
But I don't think any answer is gonna be satisfying and GW knows this too.
What am I even looking at
As is, for reasons beyond just general interest, I think Russ would be the most interesting primarch to do next due to his relationship with Magnus, Guilliman, and the Lion, and also have a chance for a very changed loyalist primarch to return.
An idea I've always liked is he's old and not as physically capable, but has mastered his psychic potential.
Rune Priest Odin Russ basically.
Leman Russ^2
The Wulfen aspect of course could also be catered to, but yeah I think there's a lot of interesting stuff they could do with it.
And I don't want them to bring Sanguinius back, and I also don't think they will.
He's now just the Odinwolf
Yeah nah
Maybe a super charged Sanguinor or whatever, but not Sanguinius.
Keep it to primarchs that didn't die onscreen
I wouldn't hate a Legion of the Damned Ferrus or some kinda Revenant Spirit Ferrus but I don't want him actually back.
Or really communicating beyond appearences.
But I'm also doubtful if they're gonna actually bring back all the loyalists anyways let alone dead ones.
They aren't a hive mind
In what and which traitors
Scabs are remnants of the Moebian 6th regiment who have turned traitor and now worship Chaos
Dregs are hive gangers who turned to a chaos/nurgle cult to fight water barons
Poxwalkers are just zombies made by plague
As far as a storyline goes, Fatshark have a few things out there for you to read/watch
Hive boys went out to the Daaaaaahhhhkkkk place, decided they hated showering, and have returned to spread their new idealogy.
We are on the side of "One bath a year, maybe"
Note: we still don't know what the Darktide is
Xenos are mentioned as a possibility
Chaos is as well
Maybe it's both
Maybe it's neither
Maybe the real darktide was the enemies we made along the way
You're two days late. Rations have been docked for spreading misinformation.
Sanguinala is a season
It ends when the desire to glorify everything Sanguinius stood for wanes
It's Sanguinala smh, were not a nondescript south eastern European country
Sanguinala is mostly described as a day in every example I’ve seen, but it does vary by planet
Also it’s more Easter than Christmas but it’s more fun if it’s Christmas
The Imperium feels like it would be a January 6th Christmas sort of place
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1361210/view/5939699773449199505
I think it's implied to be the enemies of humanity
Though it’s only a small chunk of the unbelievably vast Imperium of Man, the Domain is a significant tract of space. It’s a fiefdom of several important worlds, loyal to the Throne of Terra, ruled over by the Lord Margrave of Atoma. Think of it like a province or a self-governing state. It pays its tithes and taxes to Terra, it obeys the laws of Terra, and it manufactures vast quantities of goods for the Imperium. It’s important. It must not be lost, or invaded, or ever fall to the darkness that lies in the disputed territories it borders. Those territories, which are ‘parts unknown’, wild worlds outside the Imperium’s remit, are a hotbed of alien (“xenos”) and daemonic threat. To the average citizen of Atoma and its sister worlds, the nature of that threat is a mystery. It’s just called ‘the Darktide’, a boogeyman threat that must be kept at bay. That’s why they have the regiments of the Astra Militarum
Which is literally everyone and anyone out in space at this point
Including the imperium!
It’s likely any enemy of the enemies of mankind/imperium- it’s likely a collective, general term for such hostile threats
Is there any reason why some space marines have 4 pipes connected to their mouth pieces unlike most that have 2?
bruh rogue trader is a broke ass game, interaction is borked on me again
A certain submodel of the helmet. Is there a difference? No.
I would wager it is simply a matter of "what kind of air filter is in helmet?"
asthma
@spare osprey hell yeah!
Also, question. Who knows the story of the girl and dog who made it through tzeentchs palace?
Is there an actual book or short story for it, or just this:
Original source for reference. Codex: Chaos Daemons (2008), page 12:
The Guardian of the Maze
Within the convoluted labyrinth of Tzeentch, it is said there is one true path to infinite knowledge that any creature, mortal or daemonic, can follow. This road leads through nine gates, each barred against entry. The gates appear as golden arches thrice the height of a man, wreathed with purple, blue and pink fire. At each gate stands the Guardian of the maze, little more than a giant gloating mouth in appearance. The nature of the Guardian is such that it stands watch over all nine gates at the same time.
When someone approaches one of the gates, the Guardian poses them a question, one of the Nine Hundred and Ninety-nine Riddles of Tzaratxoth. The Guardian itself has no ears and can never hear the reply, and so can never tell the secret to anyone, but the enchantment of the gates mean they will open on the correct reply. The riddles are said to be so taxing that only the greatest lateral and logical thinkers can discern their answer. The Guardian swallows whole those intruders that give an incorrect response!
Legends tell that only one challenger, clad in the guise of a young girl with a little black dog, managed to make her way through all of the gates. When Tzeentch questioned him about this failure, the Guardian accused her of cheating.
its just a random entry
Yes ? The Wizard of Oz reference
and a cheeky reference to Wizard of Oz
Booo.... I like stories like that lol. I'd love to see it fleshed out a bit
Look... lol people be putting too much on Magnus. Dude literally was best friends with the Emperor since before birth. They were having whole psychic conversations in-womb. Not only that, they continued communication all the way up till the emperor found him and brought him back. Afterword, the emperor flipped on him. Never once taking his side again, and never once letting him, arguably the most integral part of the plan and definitely the most likely to understand, know what was happening or why. He was never once let in on his plans, and the only true mistake he made was rushing to the defense of people he thought needed him, only to find out he'd been tricked. Yes. That is his fault. And yes, it was a mistake. But to say his speech at the Council was a mistake... I feel is a false statement as it was a moving speech. He was simply outnumbered and, again, the Emperor stood by instead of helping.
If anything the emperor is far more at fault then Magnus.
Lop probably
Also, hold up
I just heard an insane theory and I need it vetted by the community
never saw anything but the weird ass tubes on the lasguns before
So basically... say the impossible happened, and orcs invade Terra. Because of their whole Waaargh effect, and the tangible effects it has on reality, and their belief that the Emperor is the biggest, baddest Humie ever, in theory he would get up for their battle. Because of course the biggest, baddest Humie couldn't sit the biggest battle out.

magnus was arrogant, the emperor was a pos who should have really been talking to his sons about the warp and everything in it, most of all magnus, because magnus and the emprah both liked to go warp surfing and collect mutated daffodils there, but the emprah just kinda left him to his own devices, a son he knew was as gifted as it gets with psyker shenanigans, which kinda just left magnus with nothing to do except get manipulated by tzeentch. The big red got dealt a pretty bad hand and got led on by his own overconfidence despite mostly trying to do the right thing for a good chunk of the time and now hes a muscular giant red chicken that somehow loses a lot
Did you miss the war of the beast
is that the one with the infinite krourk spawns
Where the Orks invade terra
with deathstar things?
Ye
i didnt miss it, but I dont miss it either
felt
kinda funky with all the giant orcs appearing out of nowhere
Was more talking to ghost though
concept was cool
also while we were on the topic, I do appreciate how horus instigated the burning of prospero
it was wily
and funny
I agree somewhat. But arrogance is a stretch. Dude had every right to be as confident in his abilities as he had been. But again, literally none of it happens if he is informed. None of it happens if the communication doesn't stop. None of it happens if the emperor didn't let it.
Are you asking me, because probably
Go read up on it
Ork belief power doesn't work that way, sadly or something
I dunno actually, I personally feel like if Magnus had actually recieved the message that russ wanted to parlay, he would have likely ignored it and it would have resulted in the same thing, but I guess you can argue he might not have and they might not have gone bonkers
or if say, horus hadnt told russ that prospero aint talking time, just go nuke it
and russ wanted to parlay
magnus would have ignored it imo
but thats upto speculation ig
Nah if he's informed of everything going on, which he very easily could have been by the emperor, he never would have
Him and the emp could communicate anywhere in the galaxy telepathically
well like I said , magnus kinda got shafted when he starting getting chatty with tzeentch , and in all fairness to him, the emprah didnt educate him otherwise
whats funnier is how magnus keeps losing, given his psyker-ness, being a primarch and a daemon prince, dude gets wrecked quite savagely
Yea it's pretty sad
Magnus' argument was fucked by chaos no mistake
But the guy at this point had already made one deal with tzeentch, and he definitely would've pulled similar shit if left to do so
the thousand sons have a nice aesthetic though, its quite distinct
Callback to him fighting Bjorn, where he forgets he's a primarch and psyker
40k lore is so deep bro trust me bro
also
afaik, vulkan is just straight up around, but refuses to come back till the salamanders find his sacred toys
which is also quite funny if its true
last time I checked, there was some campaign or the other where some space marines straight up ran into vulkan, this is post kurze
Afaik I thought he couldn't die
Like... Fulgrim tried really, really hard once right?
Yeah, he played an active role in the war of the beast
Unless he got the horus treatment I mean... then he'd probably die
Kurze captured and killed him a few hundred times
right, so he just refuses to come back
Kurze did it, not fulgrim, that's right!!!!
vulkan is one of my favourite primarchs
mostly because of how the whole kurze thing went
man just bullied konrad after getting tortured a billion times
Him and Sangy have a special place in my heart
His fate is left ambiguous, but we see no body and he has a history of coming back
So if GW needs a model... he's definitely coming
Also wooo it's finally becoming priming weather
he went through a maze perturabo built while getting stalked by kurze after all the torture, got through it, found his hammer and went ballistic on konrad
Though... with as much as they layer on how absolutely HAWT Vulcan is, surprised some slaneshii cults ain't found him yet lolol
for real
Don't blame me, blame cannon lol
plus, I just generally like the whole green scales aesthetic on the salamanders, and all the various toys they have to burn people alive while rescuing kids
and burning other kinds of kids
didnt the wound vulcan recieve on his chest affect him permanently in some sort of way
mentally or some such
dont recall
🤷♂️
as far as I remember, he took a hit from magical shard whatshisname jamba blade
I think so but I'm not sure and don't wanna tell ya wrong
The Night Lord Space Marine Variel is canonically autistic. Please discuss.
Source?@vagrant narwhal
You mean from the Fulgurite?
Night lord...space marine...autistic..uh..ahh...hmm. yeah no I agree
yeah that
It had an effect on him, iirc it restored his sanity
ah, so the torture session did affect it
and so did crash landing from orbit I think
dont remember tbh
Iirc it was a mix of that and experiencing orbital reentry that fried his brain
We just don't know I think
Good, but last we see him pretty jaded and depressed iirc
My favorite bit of Vulcan lore is still the moment he explained to Konrad that his hammer functions as a hammer
lmao
Like, he's a perpetual. All the info I know says he should still be alive. And as far as I know, we never see a body or anything even indicating he died
Yep, unfortunately
he is indeed alive, and quite physically capable afaik, what I dont recall is whether he's all sane
So it's a very fair assumption to say he's still alive. What he's doing or why he hasn't returned is anyone's guess though
I mean he did die, but probably ressurected
Correction, it's not Variel, it's most Night Lord Space Marines
Just depressed
Lolol
He threw himself into a Gargants generator to overload it,
who isn't at this point tbh
fabius
That
One of the books (actively trying to find which one) quotes Night Lords as having the habit of "staring in autistic silence."
Fabius > rakarth. dont @ me
...are you sure it said "autistic silence"
THE FUCK YOU MEAN NUH UH
-Slaanesh, probably
If memory serves his willpower is so strong that it actively forced the warp away on a tiny scale
it's the "Finland isn't real" situation all over again
"but I'm right here"
"NO YOU AINT"
So, what do we think about Fabius's Newmen? I had a personal theory myself. Remember the Watcher in the Rain story? About the woman who killed billions by moving shipments? What if she was an unknowing Newman? How big of a threat do we think these will be in the coming 40k?
Very strong
So no she prolly wasn't
Late but yes.
She was just an asshole
the actual ingame model you can use with the weapon mod is also SLEEK
Hey wait a second
lasguns in most miniatures just have a flat top
@green loom true, but it had me thinking at least of what they might be capable of
If she just chanced into doing that stuff
Nah nvm
They can kill space marines consistently in packs
Too weird
@green loom damn really?
Wolves hunt in packs arisen
I didn't know too much about them and only recently heard anything
The Night Haunter personally beheaded the Salamanders' Primarch, ripped out his throat with a piece of cutlery, stabbed him through the chest and virtually tore him limb from limb with his own wicked claws. When these attempts failed to kill Vulkan, Curze had him eviscerated, shot at close-range by hundreds of Bolters, put into a ventilation shaft of a starship's engine and even stripped naked and thrown out of an airlock into the airless void of space. But the Night Haunter's efforts proved all for naught.
LOLOLOLOL
Bile also has a few of them installed into positions of power in the imperium
I had heard that
Just brother things

its just such a funny summary , gets me everytime
I cant even tell if its worded ironically or not
I feel like if written well these could be really awesome. I just also feel like narratively they'll never be used... or at least not very often. I'd like to see maybe a major arc of them doing systemic damage or something maybe
I don't think systemic damage is really their purpose
Weird, why wouldnt they be... they're the perfect sleeper cells?
it's really bad
i love darktide
even more now
LMAO
fuck you its great
it literally is the most sense you can make of the flat-top lasgun models
Why need sight when magdump is effective
Im gonna magdump on you in a second
you can zoom in and enjoy your magdump
thats why you have sights
exitus rifle when
never probably
When you've got several hundred thousand men on Frontlines, they no longer need sights, they just all magdump
Don't threaten him with a good time
I'm afraid he'll enjoy it
you always need sights what
oh you're referring to lore and not darktide gameplay
Yes
in the lore chat
How are you going to dump mags, this isn't Warframe
ironsights are dirt cheap literally no cost issue
Referring to flat top lasgun models
oh lol i misunderstood
honestly also yeah like the modellers just went
"lets have a tiny canyon with a metal jutting sight boom"
its such a good idea for the kantreal
"The Legionnaire that scoffs at a lasgun has not charged across an open field against a hundred of them."
— Maor the Scarred, Siege-Champion of the Scargivers, Black Crusade
who are the scargivers though
Why waste the plasteel? Several thousand irons worth of plasteel can always make another lasgun shell
it's no wasted
and what happened that they all had to sit down and decide, "lets call ourselves..the scargivers"
I just realized
if you ever shot a rifle you'll know how bloody hard it is to land a hit without properly aiming
Does slaanesh have any chaos militarum regiments?
basically they are just created for a story

Chaos warbands be like
Grumbus the Unfucked of the No Fuck Givers
Im betting Maor the Scarred is the only member, and he didnt like being called the Scarred, so he called his warband the scargivers
#primarchlogic@work
The Vanitine Hedonites are a Traitor Guard warband devoted to Slaanesh. They are known to have taken part in the Nachmund Rift War.[1]
Just imagine how much worse a battlefield would be facing slaaneshi chaos guard.
||The amount of SA would be unfathomable ||
It already is, that's just a thing with war unfortunately
TW btw
Now I have the worst meme in my head
1 heretic 1 plasteel stash
Dorn
Dorn isn't a Chapter Master
Says you
Is Dante a Chapter Master
the lore, the emperor, his brothers, entire imperium'
Is mayonnaise a chapter master?
I am simply here to be dumb and/or funny
grimnar, azrael, tyberos, calgar( not technically but yaknow), seth, helbrecht etc, you know, those guys
Then Dante
I cant decide if dante would beat grimnar
My brain autocorrected Calgar to Catgirl for a split second. I'll never unsee it
And now you won't either
I'd say he would
I mean, I cant really disagree
he will, Grimnar might be good sure but, you're talking about Dante here, this mothafucka defies destiny on a regular basis to the point that it's actually the running joke with him
man did straight up cry and beg for a vacation in the afterlife, instead guilliman was like " nah fam, you run half the imperium now, you got this
"
literally his primarch assembled himself enough to talk to him to say
Nah chief you can't die yet you still have things to do
literal embodiment of im too old for this shit
I think the Lion is better for "I'm fucking old"
He thought he was weakened by some chaos fuckery until a chaos wizard or whatever told him "dude, you're just fucking old"
he's been asleep on a garbage pile behind a gay bar for 10,000 years, he's not going to wake up feeling very refreshed
omg life goals
but on the chapter master thing
Depends on what you mean by "combat"
If you mean pure "I will beat the shit on you, then go to the hospital so I can beat the shit out of you again" muscles, aggression, and stabbitude
I gotta go with my boy Tyberos
i get where you're coming from considering that his weapons are called hunger and slake helps
But I do think that there are chapter masters that can at least give him a run for his money or even beat him
They're probably Corax's claws too
Yeah he is probably the only person that would wear a power fist that has underbite chainswords and power talons attached to it
I meant that yes
And my personal rankings are Grimnar, Dante, Tyberos and Azrael, in that order
Totally works if you switch them around too
Lion went "oh lol this guy is ANCIENT" when he saw dante and he saw him after his primaris transformation made him a bit younger
I wanna see geriatric team of imperium fighting together for at least once. Grimnar Dante Lion together
If you purge the retches of Janus, do you miss out later on?
Imo depends on how much Dante can use his mobility
But imo yes I would say Dante is easily the most dangerous loyalist marine whose not a psyker
It's axe vs axe and grimnar has the bigger axe
Dante has one direct advantage, whenever he got his ass handled GW revives a primarch to save his ass
Honestly It was like 2 months ago I found out Dante’s first name is Luis
New material has him as white haired
Yeah was just gonna say. Bloodquest is the only thing I can think of
Yeee
but like his description in books is so detailed that most fanart is pretty accurate and on point
Its literally those images but slightly more wrinkled and white haired
Mhm
his youth as a kid named luis is actually pretty fun to read about
malnutrioned, starved etc
a real ball of a time
plus he wasnt particularly gifted as a kid, relative to other candidates
just had a lot of resolve
like a lot
resolve and the occasional assistance from sanguinor himself, because he wasnt really the best athlete
or the smartest
Built like a FRIDGE
He’s black haired again after he started drinking blood
As he’s described in the Lion book
daddy. sorry, i meant daddy. fuck, sorry, daddy FUCK d-
But during the events of Dante and Devastation he was white haired
Its inconsistent
so doesn't super matter
Dat hairline
has he started drinking again? I thought he was just trying to get healed after baal
wait is Dante regularly partaking of the red juice now? last I heard he was going into a full depressive episode because he had 1 sippy
Tyberos would get eaten by most of the first founding CMs
bro gets his stuff together and bumrushes angron right away
he definitely has a deathwish
Calgar is missing most of his limbs. Not to be ableist, but plot armor is the only thing protecting him from Tyberos.
I read that as the first cms's of the first founding
He started doing it more regularly because he realizes his personal convictions aren’t more important than him being at peak condition he can be
the swarmlord would have ripped apart a good chunk of chapter masters if it weren't for plot and you know it
Basically he has too many responsibilities.
Plus the Primaris treatment has helped him
The swarmlord should rip apart most CMs
Bulgur
do you think
I mean he has mostly
The only thing thicker is Tyberos' plot plate
there is any human alive
He ripped apart Calgar
who wants the swarmlord to eat space marines more than me
More than you?
no
an equal yes
the swarm lord is literally treated as the replacement for the avatar of khaine
they can't use that orange **** they use the dinosaur
There could be a cult to Tyberos in the nevada desert who sacrifices goats to him on every blood moon and he would still be underhyped
as opposed to gregor dessian
, another first founding chapter master
Or Tu 'shan
or Shrike
Id take tyberos in a one on one fight against all three of em
Outside of the Imperial Fists all of them have cool stuff they’ve done
shrike has cool jetpack,
Tyberos has literally no feats outside of the one nid vessel
they should boost ravenguard a little more
Like he’s cool
But he mostly only is known because a very non canon piece of fanart which makes him way too big
It’s good art don’t get me wrong
And he’s neat but goddamn people way overhype him from nothing
this post was how I learned Tor Garadon wasn't the Fist's Chapter Master
dessian gets no time in the spotlight for some reason
imperial fists aint so bad
GW just refuses to keep a consistent IF chapter master or focus on them at all
even jubal khan gets more love than him
They just kill a new one off every edition
And Garadon and Lysandor get all the focus but never become CM
they just have more popular cousins in 40k
But yeah anyone Tyberos is just such an inherently cool guy he didn't even need a story to convince nerds he was cool
In fairness he's only existed for a few years
No they’re legit just ignored, other first founding chapters don’t have much lore either but we know a fair amount about their CMs
Stronos, Shrike, Jubal, Tu’shan
They’ve all done stuff and had some stories and what not
he's just: big guy (but not as big as you'd expect) with insane fist weapons and also sometimes he does a good stabby
all you need yeah
like, gabriel seth has a fairly meaty arc about being a totallynotberserk loyal space marine thats pretty cool, dessian barely exists
Dessian is the exception to the rule
He’s an ignored FF chapter master and he’s not the first
One dies every edition basically
For the Imperial Fists
controversial opinion: there are cooler characters that came from badab war, like asterion moloc and huron blackheart
It’s just what GW does
I don’t hate Tyberos he just gets way over hyped by the fanbase for someone who has done fuck all really
I don't like Shrike because a Shrike is an entirely different bird
I hope they reveal moloc as a loyal genetic defect custodes, that sounds fun in my head
I think the thing with Tyberos is that he doesn't need to show off. We get way more depictions of him standing around and observing than actually fighting and that just works for him
he's an imposing enough figure that he doesn't need to fight to remain the coolest
itd make sense why he never attends meetings with folks outside the chapter, why hes rumoured to be a gigachad in combat and why he has a custodes-esque weapon , but who knows
He’s definitely not one, if you’ve read Regents Shadow
sad
I hate huron blackheart, but I like the Badab War era eldar
hate the recent elves tho
their wargear resembling custodes can be explained as they are bankrolled by highlords
Badab wasn’t long ago at all anyways
wearing the same brands kek
I mean yeah they're around but like
He’s fairly young for a chaos lord and how powerful he is
It's a tone thing for me, you get it?
THE ELDAR HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BADAB WAR
I don’t but
it's sm vs sm
It might be a few things getting mixed up in my head as a newer fan, but like, let me trace my train of thought and see if yall follow
I don’t think we’re going to
Ok, so Badab war, to me, feels mostly relegated to older editions and is mostly brought up in passing in like, the last decade, or more
If you mean, prefer Eldar from that era of writing
Badab gets brought up a lot in recent times
And its characters
Babad had really little to do with old lore
Huron gets a lot of appearances
and old Eldar were just pirates mostly
the craftworlds got small mentions as world-ships
Yeah Dilara so you get what I'm saying
Ok but like
Burld shlips
Yeah but thats boring
I want asshole pirate elves
Just say that
I maen
You have those
you got them with corsairs though?
asshole pirate elves
Corsairs are literally a mix of Craftworlders/Dark Eldar
No, fuck the craftworlds, fuck the dark eldar, exodites can stay
convert all elves to pirates or hippies
no
Corsair princes are those guys who still hang out with high schoolers in their hometown even though they’re like 37
LOL
Yeah that's a vibe for elves
Corsairs are awesome
Them and Harlequins tend to be my favorite Eldar, although Corsairs don’t get as many appearances
I gotta write one branding a marine of mine. So it’s been neat looking into them
I love dark eldar models, their lore, not so much
I really love the one Corsair Prince in the Battlefleet Gothic games
I think Dark Eldar lore is hilarious tbh
He’s a homie
is that the one where valerian has a "oh shit im a scared custodes" moment with moloc?
but i dont recall exactly
No he just isn’t sure he can take him
I like Vect solely for his mini, he's earned a place in my heart
right
the other dark eldar? ehhhhh
Eldrathain is great
But they don’t fight
But he’s more just not certain which is a pretty big compliment to Moloc
Considering Valerian is a shield captain
valerian is a monster
for some reason lelith model looks way too similar to jain zar to me
Lelith is super messy and kind of annoying as a character. But like. Feet. I guess I'm okay with drukhari as far as named characters with minis.
And considering the book before Valerian took down a Bloodthirster with only another Grey Knight and a few Sisters of Silence
hes an absolute beast in combat
which makes his description of moloc all the more terrifying
To this day, I do not know what would have happened if he had done so. I suffer neither from doubt nor from pride, and so can only speculate from the evidence I had before me. Perhaps I would have found a way. I had felled some of the greatest warriors of the enemy in my time, including many who most certainly had possessed the power to best me.
But, with Moloc, I cannot be sure.
We were only prevented from coming together in combat by the sudden spit and crackle of a single teleport column streaking down from the cathedral’s ruined heights. The ether-vortex locked on to Ravathain’s loc-signal, crashing into the nave’s tortured floor, splashing against the flags of the podium and boiling away. As I felt the rush of sudden cold, and saw the white-silver energy reflect in Moloc’s burnished plate, I thought for a moment that Valoris had come, or perhaps Garadon, bringing with them the reinforcements we needed to fight our way out.
Imo they should have had them fight a bit and then it gets stopped
But oh well
Or have Moloc kill a Custodes or some Imperial Fists
Cause he does fuck all the whole book except look scary
whats new
dante is old
I don't mind him being near custodes tier
In Fall of Cadia Abaddon straight up casually beheads a custard lmao
a custard
a custard
If Moloc was able to fight one equally that'd be relatively fine
I'm being a bit insulting to Moloc he actually has done stuff
I mean you should be, Minotaur and space shark fans are an annoying sub group

I like that something other than progenitor chapters and black templars getting some love
Tbf what happened there was more the dude couldn’t even block his sword
Cause it just broke his
Listen I'm not going to apologize for liking the carcs because why else would you enjoy 40k if not to see a giant man unhinge his jaw like a snake and bite a rando's head off
Which is getting pretty boring with Abbadon I won’t lie
He has a fight with Kharn which is really fun cause they you know
Actually fight
The whole “I win cause you literally can’t even block my sword” thing is just kinda lame at this point with how much it’s happened
I wish the carch books weren't dogshit
You don't need to apologize, just be better than the average carch fan
actually
I like some parts of them
dog shit is a strong word
Which is really not hard
I wish they were better
honestly? I like the Night Lord parts of those books better lmao
most recent abaddon fights I've read goes really similar: "an sm hotshot underestimates him, abaddon dunks on him and his friends, that's it"
Like Night Lords in the Carc novels are sufficiently scary
I was kinda rooting for them
I don’t mind Abbadon being good I just get bored with him winning cause magic sword OP
It doesn’t make him look impressive
I will be worse
His sword being made of pure plotanium is boring
Also I wish people would stfu about chaos not getting wins when Abbadon has literally never lost since the heresy
abaddons boring
He LoSt TwElVe CrUsAdEs
I don’t dislike him I dislike some writing that surrounds him sometimes
I feel like the reason, marketing wise, he threw a blackstone fortress at Cadia was so GW could remind people how he got them
"he tried 13 times just to get a planet and he still had to drop his fancy ship"
He’s very often written great
Abaddon brewing scene meme
imo , reading about him is boring, his weapons are boring, his design is boring, his fights are boring ( except the one where Old Man Sigi dunked on him)
abbadons moonshine is peak
People can’t read and don’t even know basically all the BC had nothing to do with Cadia.
prolly some of the funniest shit I've ever read tbh
Until the last
I like abbadon tbh
I like the monogod champions a lot though, all 4 of em, typhus, lucius, kharn, ahriman, some of my fav characters
he has personality imo
the guy claws people then uses stormbolter point blank, what else he should do
I don’t dislike him I just don’t love all his writing
And I will never like the top knot

Woe, single codex entry be upon ye
they SHOULD go on from nl omnibus
Like it's a travesty we havent gotten much on literally Talos' successor
honestly, it would have been more punishing and funny if sigi chopped his hair off instead of straight up impaling him through the chest
I'll go with hot takes today. he's way more interesting than "theoretical this practical that" guilliman talk
My hottest 40k take is that Loken should have died on Istvaan
why?
because then he wouldn't have been part of the horus heresy novels after they fell off
I guess you would have hated him actually becoming the grey knights grand master and naming himself crius
Loken was too good for the horus heresy novels
He didn’t though?
But yes I do agreed he should have stayed dead
the position was offered to him by Malcador tho
Yeah but he didn’t
It’s pretty inconsequential either way imo
instead he went and got shanked by abaddon and then poison bombed afaik
He hasn’t died yet
yeah, hes not confirmed dead
But he probably will next book
Currently he’s with the Emperor and Leetu
Heading to the bridge of the VS
And the one Custodes who survived
is janus confirmed dead
wasnt there a mention somewhere of his corpse being on titan
and what happened to that Shard business inside him anyway
He’s probably dead in current 40k
As far as we’re aware
But how idk
And yeah he was a shard of Magnus combined with the one dude I can’t think of his name rn
Revuel
That’s the one
did guilliman make changes to the codex astartes when he returned
yes and no?
Yeah, mostly the primaris stuff and also just kinda telling people it’s not meant to be a religious text
To limited success
well, the captain of the first company is supposed to be next in line to be chapter master for the ultramarines right? as per the codex
and their strict adherance to it
No
It’s voted on
They’re often the main choice
But it’s not set in stone who becomes CM
Also the UN ironically don’t like
ah they get to vote
Adhere to the codex as much as others
The captains and leadership decides
Most of the time for most chapters
well I was asking because if that was the case, it would mean agemman is next in line
but guilliman made a new honor guard for himself, and appointed cato the head of it, who was the head of the second company
cato probably, guilliman takes him around and gives him lectures
but anyway, this is now irrelevant since the leadership gets to decide
It’s whoever is decided
Cato is the most obvious
indeed
more like calgar will stay unless they decide on a big shakeup
Controversial opinion i like modern cato
does calgar even have a rank anymore?, not that any blue smurf is gonna disobey him
He's still chapter master
And Lord Macragge
Guilliman can't be everywhere and his job as Lord Commander has him booked for attention
right

Don't think any of the gods have a real canonical appearance
I figured
Every single God is basically just a living mass of energy, what people make them look like is what often their brains try to make them look as to in order to at least understand them, even looking at the low level demon they often appear blurry or weird because they don't supposed to have physical bodies
All of that appearance of guts falling out or horns it's just there for flare
Well yes, but I understand he's commonly just referred to as being visualized as a big red dude with a wolfy head
At least fantasy khorne is
Never heard of him having a wolfy head
He is often visualize as your classic tin tyrant archetype
only ever imagined him as a big angry armor guy with horns
Even on fantasy
Yeah that
This bascially
Do we have to ?

There isn’t, slaanesh is the only one of the big 4 chaos gods we have a “image” of
And it’s from age of sigmar
ah yes, canon slaanesh
oh damn, I dont keep up with aos at all, never seen that
to be fair one of the easiest ways to assume what they look like would be looking pretty similar to their greater Daemons, in khorne's case, the living definition of steroid rage, Bloodthirsters
I was about to type that, they are alluded to look similar to their greater daemons
trapped because of whats going in aos or trapped because of the aftermath of fantasy?
Slaanesh got ganked by the surviving Elf gods
Yeah so that's why I was so confused the first time I saw Archaon's mount for the first time not having a slaanesh demon head
No he's dead
The current elf gods are Morathi, Malerion, Teclis, Tyrion and Alarielle
Slaanesh ate up a ton of tasty elf souls and got sleepy
They got ganked by the elven gods
They threatened slaanesh with safe words
and got forced to puke up the souls they ate
stop , I dont wanna hear anymore about what they did with the fantasy characters
I cant handle it

As she tends to do
runs
And then we got the twins
Im almost too scared to ask what happened to the dawi in aos
but what happened to the dawi
what flavor of elf do y’all think Kerellian gif revived as
They survived
Pretty well
oh yeah wolf speaking of which one is more interesting to watch kill stuff, Grimgor or Gordrakk
Out of all the 3 like core “order” races
Had their own empire for a while
I’m a fan of gordakk ngl
But grimgor is more intresting as a character regarding why he’s smashing stuff
I like the cabbage
did gotrek become a god
Sorta
yes
of course
Practically speaking yes
kinda
Realistically no
of course gotrek became a god
Grimnir was going to turn him into him iirc
He’s not really a god at all
But he got rid of the great rune or something
Gotrek didn’t properly “ascend” lol
He is still looking for his bro right
He didn’t want to be a god
he survived the apocalypse
So now he's just gotrek but giga juiced
And yeah he’s looking for Felix
better than ascending i guess
Gotrek isn’t a god, he refuses to act like a god, and doesn’t want to be one
It’s pretty funny
still not on board with aos tbh, ive heard its gotten good though
He’s just gotrek but
He is so bad at being a Slayer he became a god, ain't no way
Even more violent now
Still looking for Felix
Felix is almost certainly dead or a stormcast
wdymn unfortunately
its the best possible ending for ungrim, hes finally a happy dawi
True!
its the only thing he wanted
He slaughtered a bunch of Chorfs
Best you're getting.
yeah ive seen that loads of times, I was just double checking since a lot of 40k art shows khorne with power armor
Going back to this I'm pretty sure Grimgor would have a decent chance of caving in Gordrakk's head, even when he has Bigteef
Probably, but gordakk is fucking sick
Please do not make blissbarb archers in 40K GW
I regret looking at the lore in the 2e battletome that they retconned
ohh don't get me wrong, Gordrakk is good, and Bigteef is cute

he got fucked
he had a nice and long career tbh, and he beat the snot out of kholek
As he tends to heh
oh nagash is still around?
Yeah
Mother fucker is a blight on reality fr fr
And some really old Khorne art.
he Will download dark tide just to grief people
LMAO
That goes hard
Nagash making people who were doctors in their lives; aka people that helped others and prevent them from dying; and turning their souls into psychotic slave-ghosts that want to violently kill people just to be a troll is peak warhammer content
is that in aos
Yes
Yes lmao
is that what the madlad is doing now
hes an asshole
Nagash is
Intentionally fucking with everyone
Rn
Also he’s the only non chaos faction to have breached the eight points
Nagash is very much being as spiteful as he ever is
Correct.
he looks the same
He does
It's his ET form
why he wearing a crop top
I find it interesting that Tzeentch is actually very closely associated with fire, but it doesnt get brought up much
goofy ass
Nagash meeting an innocent elderly person ( he was bored )
fuck
LMAO
hold on
Lol
but yeah Nagash basically finally literally achieved his goal
now he rules like he always wanted
aka a piece of shit
the nagash ip grabber
Most of the Lore of Tzeentch is with fire
Very true
this one
this is him on you just existing
Nagash choosing to punish people who were good individuals in life after death is fucking hilarious honestly
I bet nagash is still salty af though that he didnt get to rule over egypt
Honestly at some point I think he threw in some of his spirit into you, i ain't gonna lie chief
even Neferata like, lost Lahmia
He didn’t get to rule over
LMAO
What do you mean there's a place named York
Maybe?
Yeah he died like a bitch so he gets no godhood
He’s prolly dead for good
by sniktch yeah
Thorgrim also never messed with magic or had like anything special
he was just Angry Dwarf King
meanwhile Gotrek

thorgrim had a decent toilet throne
LMAO
Gotrek in AoS is awesome tho
he calls all the gods fucking cowards and pussies

gotrek would do that even if he wasnt a god, thats why hes a special boy
Hes basically pissed all the time
especially with Felix gone
"I've fought chaos dragons, and lich kings! I've fought greater demons, and the gods themselves! I bled Be'lakor, the prince who would be king! I crossed axes with Grimnir, and walked away! I swore to die in battle, but outlived a world! Come, try me, beast! May
thorgrim: Alright time to escape
Deathmaster snikch about to stab him:
maybe felix can come back as a new axe
"I swore to die in battle but I outlived a world"
legit one of the most metal lines ever
I like to imagine the sudden cutoff is his enemy slowly backing off until they can't hear him anymore
he forgot to lock the door
is archaon gone
No
God no
LOL
hes the high marshal of chaos
The chaos gods brought him back
HAHAHAHAHA
even the gods are afraid of him
Archaon was already scary
He got an Upgrade™️
Now he's scarier
wtf archaon, what are they feeding him
dude, this mothafucka is ridin a three headed undivided demon
Wasn't his whole thing of ending the world so he could spite the Chaod gods?
Yep
That guy is still around
spite everyone pretty much
Froot loops
That's just Dorgar
i will never be a slave to chaos :
They’re feeding him pure undiluted anger and spite
dorghar didnt wanna pretend to be a horse anymore
He never said that
Archaon always accepted his fate
he just chose to do it in his own way
it's the mentality
His faction is called Slaves to Darkness
but then he realised theres no escape
i'm gonna fuck with them but ends up doing what they want
so....... did throgg come back?
Listen if I existed in a fantasy world and I was told i could travel like 15 km north and become a Slave of Darkness and feel the rush of unfathomable power at the cost of my very humanity
In a roundabout way archaon is now just his own boss
well I'm going on a vacation in the north
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
oh well
But that guy died like a bitch
Sigvald smells like piss tho dw
I would travel north and kill them all with a big mace
why have him when you have the chad Trugg
Bring Valkia to 40k you cowards, let Khorne bone
Also
no
That top right troll lmao
Slaves to darkness as a faction name goes hard
im not into aos , so I have no idea whats happening there
oh, so like bretonnia but without the accent
All ET lore of the Skaven is trash
So guys, like, this isn't directly warhammer related but
Those horsies look very polite and kind
trugg the true troll king
I'm the bottom right troll. Just happy with my big shiny rock
that take is colder than norsca
louen 's death was the only character ending I instantly liked in the end times
I don't know why it would stop me
nevermind I decided against what i was going to say
because it's common I shouldn't think that way
Say it anyway
pft
They all look so smug don't they
suffice to say, there are real world satanists/weird pagans who really like Fantasy chaos
Oh trust me bretonnia can rot
Why 💀
I've noticed there's a lot of hate against Bretonnia but never understood why
Fr*nch
They’re assholes
Imagine living next to gunpowder everywhere and still being this backward
They eat weird bread.
Stares in French
OK they worship an elven goddess canonically, and they use peasants like meat shields
many reasons , mostly the whole peasants are worse off than poxwalkers thing
i could add more
They could've been cool French if they had been Mousquetaires
Also they treat their pesants like shit
they have funni helmets
Total War warhammer 3, peasant slaughterhouse edition
I like louen more than franz though
Well I know about that but I don't see how that's so bad
elves
I miss their pre grim dark lore
Heard they used to be different in old lore but got all grimdarkified as it progressed
