and i dont think there's any way to respec skill points which is a huge L
there is
Wym
how
Just go to the Factotum guy
"My companions and I need training"
and you can select yourself or one of your crew members
It won't let you change your base archetype
But you can change the second one you get
I swapped from Vanguard to Master Tactician
And you also reset all your skills
I respect mine into better brute strength builds
Yeah if you don't want the way you are right now you can change it very easily and it doesn't cost anything
also dont you just love it when you click somewhere and a trap suddenly gives 3 traumas to all your team members
why do you think i have members with high awareness?
my character has the perception of a deaf bat
It automatically pauses when you spot it though
You can control where your group will go when it pauses
So you can select one member who is good at you know deactivating traps by maneuvering them around the red line
That's what I usually do when the game warns me about traps
yeah and if you dont microcontrol that trap person they walk into the damn trap
i have done that and i consider that my personal skill issue
yeah this game can be finicky at times but it makes it rewarding
one thing i find cute about the game is how it'll show you achievements every time you reload a save
but you also dont get achievements until you reload a save
Yeah the achievement tracking in this game is a bit fucked
But considering owlcat history this is actually one of the better releases they have
So hey it works good enough for me
of course the lore and the story are impeccable
Bro some of the things your character can say is straight up devious
the fact that they let you recruit somebody from pretty much all sides of the imperium
half the dialogue is just being an asshole
Shame I can't make my own custom space marine though I have to settle for the one that is my own
The preset one that is a space wolf
Oh definitely we will I would love to have an ork mercenary
in fact im willing to bet a DLC will be specifically focused on space marines
Prolly not
Although
Having one about helping a new one settle down would he pretty cool
ork mercenary definitely fits in the recent GW vibes
Orks in general probably
At least Ork spacecraft
Owlcat has a habit of DLC integration so they'd probably fit in fine
At the top right of the map there is an area with a giant ork skull that you can't go must be very infested with them
You have an Ork skull on your desk too
yep
It's just too obvious of a DLC knowing Owlcat
An entire cross off area with a giant ork skull
game says it's a xenos skull as if the jaw and the teeth arent the second most recognizable species in 40k
Shush
Guys, any guess of what is happening with Zola ?
The way the secret mission goes, its kinda sus, Rannick looks to be aware of something.
Is she parts of the Genestealer or something ?
Or is she just sus asf because she's crazy about killing Wolfer ( wich i don't think )
Oh ok
She has some relation to him
Hmmmm...
Potentially some background stuff
Probably just feels bad about him getting away under her watch
I see
Do we know if Wolfer is a local ?
And he tells the people of Tertium that "We are your sons and daughters, and we have come home!"
hey dilara at what chapter of rogue trader are you?
post-commorragh
well good luck in the future
if you're already at this part
may the god emperor bless your soul
I hope I can fix it with fkn toybox lol
yeah I would love to mess around when I'm done with the story
Just turn my character into an absolute unit from the start and then demolish anything that breaths
I am a bit curious, is Jae's accent ment to be french?
Middle eastern
I think
Anyway, I just listened to a guy talk about the ergonomics of a forgefiend, nothing will surprise me anymore
man
tzeentch worshipers are so frickin annoying
they act like they literally can't lose but then i shoot them in the face
see this is why i prefer fighting the other chaos gods' worshipers or even chaos undivided
At least they just want to try and kill you and actually do win regardless of how said fight goes
All I'm surrounded by is fear. And dead men.
It's very funny when you face Tzeentchian Cultist, and release some Hounds of Khorne
Would ogryns and orks make good friends considering they both like to fight and kill stuff (well mostly heretics for ogryns)
ah yes Honest Abe will always deal with this issue
You forget every single one in the 40kverse is racist
Crime Lord passive is such a great passive that can be used for Warrior, Soldier, and Operative
yeah they are considered a good Scrap and can be often hired as mercenaries too
You can get Kill Plan for Warrior to always refresh the plan buff while getting massive DPS boost from WS
they are strong and they are good fight that's about it
or have Escape Plan to always refresh as a Soldier by dodge and gain massive dodge boost from AGI
Safe to assume my character is winning this war of attrition
Which chapter legion is the most racist come to think of it
and you will always have a Plan if you pick Contingency Plan passive
Black Templars
they are literally based on templars who were
you know
extremely xenophobic to muslims

it is also a Origin passive that can maintain due to always refreshing
compared to most Origin passives that can only be used once per combat
How do you get so many wounds
Is it just toughness spam
there is a passive that boost Wounds amount by your character level as well
I thought the Black Templars were based off the Teutonic Knights, who were incredibly xenophobic against the Baltic pagans, so it's completely different.
so you can make a very tanky character with high attack output
They are all the same tbh
but debuffers will remain a must have in your party like all RPGs
later fights just make enemies annoying with stats no matter the difficulty level
I've got "it will not die" on basically everyone lol
It's important to be precise as to which genocidal maniacs our genocidal maniacs are based off
Yeah plus this
With this I can basically face tank just about everything I am literally face tanking missiles from a literal defiler
And to add extra to that yes my two main stats are strength and toughness with items complimenting them both and same with the talents
I wanted to make a tank that can throw a beluga whale at a tower and i made it
is there a stat cap in RT?
Either 99 or 100
But it's effectively 99
Because in it's dice system 100 is a crit fail
I can't increase BS for some reason
That's just to keep you from dumping those I think
I think you can only take it a certain number of times at certain levels
Once you're a higher level with the other classes you'll be able to upgrade it again
Ideally you'll be getting your characteristics from a mix of that and items
It's just so you don't dump everything into a stat right away, get it to 100 and then never fail a roll
ya there is a cap on how many you can take per class until the next class
so keep in mind about the limit and pick a different stat you will use once you cap that limit for specific ones
You can still fail with high modifiers later in the game when they give you huge penalties for tests
Early game they just give you massive bonuses in a lot of tests
yes, Ogryns have been known to suplex terminators and drag around 38 ton Chimeras
Yes they’re stronger
And can rip marines apart in melee if they get a hold of them
Marines are just faster and more skilled
Better equip
But Ogryns are very very effective in melee still
There’s a short where an Custodes during the blood game has to briefly fight an Ogryn in hand to hand combat without his armor and it’s a struggle strength wise
Although it’s still not much of a fight because the speed and skill gap
just raw brute force alone they're the strongest thing the imperium has
They’re pretty damn nuts
There’s a reason charonites were the IA’s answer to dealing with legions in melee during the Heresy
imagine if Owlcat gave us a Ogryn companion in a future DLC
It’s entirely possible
still most likely we may have to start a new game for those DLCs since they may require us to begin accessing them at chapter 1 or chapter 2
has Owlcat consider New Game+?
They’ve already said the first wave
quite a few of the DLC's for Wrath and Kingmaker were separate campaigns
Assassin in like june or something
Arbites after that
Arbites later on yeah
ya the game did provide us a Campaign select menu in New Game creation
Imo they’re probably gonna do the classes which were in the RT game already
Also as expansions
but currently it is only Rogue Trader Campaign
So Ork, Tau, Kroot
so I am assuming they have several more campaigns in mind and maybe a full expansion experience one
maybe a Inquisitor Campaign as well if possible
And other modified dudes like maybe a gland warrior
Plus just extra classes
We’ll see though but that’s what I’m guessing
new classes and advance classes are always welcome
Yeah
provides more replay value
And new starts and stuff
Inquisitor stuff will likely have to be a new game if they wanna dip their toes into something like Dark Heresy
Which ngl id love
If it's like the Pathfiner games then people will mod in whatever class/subclass Owlcat don't add
ya but they already set up the Campaign select menu
so it can also be a possible Expansion as well
I know
It's more likely to be new campaigns about Rogue Trader
Expansion would just mean a new campaign
Yep
You know
I'm talking about possible expansion focusing on a new Campaign that still use everything in Rogue Trader mechanics.
Imagine they do something bold
If this makes a lot if bank they’re deffo gonna do other Fantasy Flight titles
I would not be surprised if they do Dark Heresy, Black Crusade, Only War, or Deathwatch down the line seeing as this seems to be a very successful game and it’s easy to port the system over.
It's being pretty universally praised so here's hoping
Or a mix of any of those
Since that’s always been the strength of FFG
It’s really easy to borrow stuff from any of their rpgs
Honestly as long as the plots are good im onboard
And use it in whichever one you want
Yea Freebootaz, Kroot etc, things from the Rogue Trader system are possible, but branching out into Inquisition stuff would be a different rule set called Dark Heresy, so it's unlikely to be in the same game.
I’ve had campaigns where the dm had us switch characters going from Rogue Trader to Only War to Dark Heresy to Deathwatch to Black Crusade
Keeping a similar thread
it is possible they may make them stand alone expansion as well if they are going to keep the mechanics but it is up to Owlcat how they handle things
I think the plots will never be worse than mid
Yea they're vaguely compatible, it's just different power scale and stats
Which is an easy adjustment
stand alone expansion are a old style of handling expansions for people who only want to play X or Y expansion without needing base game
Idk, the main thing is I doubt they’re gonna make an Inquisition game in Rogue Trader, they might have it linked heavily to an Inquisitor or whatever
But they’re smart enough to know they can milk this cow
So I was playing rogue trader, and I gotta ask. Why are there so many people inside the ship's chapel?
But the theme will probably still be RT
It’s 40k
I can see a solo adventure for Heinrix or something
Also mandatory attendance
Yeah 26000, that's a ridiculous amount of personnel for a frigate
Aside from that there's a LOT of genuine devotees since they're raised into it
Wait...it is?
Ya
And when you’re in the warp it’s kinda one of your best bets for some comfort
Warp travel sucks
Like it's commented on multiple times across the game
Just some spicy rift in space, that may or may not be hell itself
The Koronus expanse is filled with criminals and pirates
But very few of them are heretics
And most still worship the Emperor
Blaspheme against the emperor, and even criminals will gut you.. imperials are weird
Yes!
So In RT, I didnt interfere in Pascal's quarrel with the governor, and he said he will only accompany me within the current system, is that true? Because I really like his character
Chose one option that was border line insulting the imperial creed, even the traitor dude said to mind my tongue
Dem zoggin humies do weird fings, I stopped tryin' to understand 'em
Don't think about it
Just keep going
ya these void ships are basically cities in Space
made for war and exploration
and this is 40K era
Most of the crew for the ships are born and live their entire lives on them
the Age of technology is said to be much bigger and more advanced
I assumed it was a thing where the character says "I'll only take you this far" but then takes a liking to your party or something, but I wanted to ask just in case I'd have to reload a save
I'll only say circumstances change
heck the Baneblade, the imperium strongest tank, was literally a Scout tank for the Age of Technology as a example
their actual battle tanks was hinted to be bigger and have more firepower
Pretty sure that's just a meme
Impressive logistics too, how do they even feed all those people, not accounting for water usage and oxygen
the 40K era is called Grimdark for a reason
they make a lot of tasteless foods to feed the mass and then there is corpse starch
no one likes corpse starch
but it is easy to make because they literally just need to grind up dead people into corpse starch
and with the population of the Imperium, they have plenty of bodies to use as material
dead people aren't made directly into corpse starch afaik, the process puts them at one step removed
it's algae or something
soylent green type beat
Plus the RT generally doesn't care if the majority of the people on the lower decks do starve
no they need that crew
in short, do not expect much common sense and morale in 40K era
Corpse starch is also very rarely used
They do, but they also arrange purges and assign squads that are tasked with keeping populations in check
If a planet is under siege and can't get supplies and exhausts its resources
That's when corpse starch is used
the Imperium fell far from how the Emperor wanted it to be design all thanks the Erebus and his plotting from behind the scenes to cause the Horus Heresy
really, REALLY shitty places also have corpse starch as a staple
like the necromunda underhive
remember the saying "everyone hates Erebus for a reason"
So if the crew in the lower decks start starving the Command staff would probably just see it as an indication that the lower decks have been breeding too much.
You’re overthinking it
All party members will have clear ways to stay with you despite what they say
unless you choose to kick them out once you reach chapter 2
or do something that will kill them
Hmm, I'm trying to make abelard a tank type character, but I cant seem to stop from giving him a melee and a pistol, but I dont want him to be an arch militant I'm not really sure what kind of build to make him, loadout wise
You would want him to be a vanguard then
Swords are a solid choice, but it seems like an option for characters with lower parry chances, since without a sword he's up to around 90%
yeah, but idk what type of weapons to equip him with to best suit that role
Thunder hammers
Why thunder hammers
It has good single target damage area damage and it can shove opponents far away that scales with strength
So the more strength you have the farther the enemy will go
Dont you want enemies to be in melee with you as a melee character though?
Yeah you can just keep hitting them with the normal attack but when you want to push the enemies away as a form of crown control like getting them off of your back or your ally it's a good option to have
so you can trigger opportunity attacks?
Thunder hammers also have ridiculous armor piercing
And of course with the area attack you can hit multiple enemies that are around you
In general power weapons are amazing
They have good area coverage and have amazingly high armor piercing
Making them good weapons to give to tanks especially if there thunder hammers or the power mauls
Being real
Btw Is rapid fire a good ability for a burst fire soldier? I'm not really sure how to use it
Yeah but I planned to make a arch militant out of a different character
Yeah I play him like that, even with a jack of all trades stats he is still a monster with the right gear
Abelard is just good
Basically
Like does this translate into a damage increase? just seems like a gambling perk
It doubles the amount of shots
And turns your burst into even more of an area attack
If you have high enough bonuses it doesn’t matter
Also the heroic skill will be able to completely empty your mag
My Argenta has become so accurate that I have to target specific enemies
If you get the one holy bolter shell or whatever thing for her
Btw can you make your character a tech priest? Wondering for future runs
Not really
Yeah she auto hits single shots
Bit like
My burst fire doesn't deviate from the centre line anymore
You can get the part machine trait i think
But that's about it
isnt there a forge world origin?
Yeah
I'm playing as an imperial world commissar so i didn't really dive too much on the character customization yet
It has some useful abilities but it’s not gonna make you a tech priest
I was thinking of doing that kind of a build later
man thats kinda lame, I thought with all the character customization you would be able to
maybe in a future dlc
you can get the part machine trait tho right
You’re still a Rogue Trader at the end of the day
Not that I’m aware of
I thought you could more or less do both
Not in the RPG
I look into it
Thats fair
Each character is a distinct class
In the future
Thanks
Pascal is the Explorator Magos
So far almost don’t with act 2 and nothing has popped up for anyone
If i were you i suggest you do your own research
The machine thing is to restrict gear to him I think
Because i'm still playing my runs
Especially since he has a very unique character model
I do wish we could do more with augmetics though
Pascals arm options are fun at least
Yeah him not having to switch weapons is such a nice thing
Yeah I wanted something like that for my character
Yeah nothing like that
There’s several characters who have very unique abilities compared to us
Shame he can't one hand one handed melee weapons
Cassia being another obvious one
Cause in all reality, theres nothing stopping a rogue trader from getting mechadendrites and the like
Nope not really
Maybe we can hope for a dlc or update to bring more augment options
I always assumed that would be a path related to being more mechanicum aligned
Yeah so its not unthinkable that we might get something like that in the future
So after the war in heaven why didn’t the krork wipe out the eldar? They were still immensely powerful and once the necrons were gone the eldar were the next big fight besides themselves
Krork got their ass reamed
Eldar were in the best position to take over
We know they culled Orks and still do
Damn I figured krork were like the strongest warriors ever
We don’t know for sure but it’s likely the Old Ones dying or disappearing also made them lose cohesion
As an army
They kinda lost the war they were made for
So no
What about their successor now the orks
They were just another bioweapon which failed and now runs amuck.
I wonder if I should use this?
Depends on how you’re building but it can be good yes
Dey krump pretty good though, they'z one of the most successful races in da galaxsee
It requires a lot of talent investment
What kind of a build would you recommend it on
thats the main thing that makes me not want to use it
Arch militant is good, anyone who shoots good basically
You can always respec someone for it later
Also is there a way to reduce the downsides of heavy armor, like how you can remove the penalties of medium with certain talents?
Iirc there’s some talents which reduce it but the main idea is if you have heavy you wanna invest in deflections and more armor
Less concern with agility
More with weapon skill and toughness
Or alternatively
You can try to jack up agility a ton
Power armor I imagine will be really good for that once I get to it.
I got a buddy who wants to put his homebrew chapter's fortress monestary in the cathedral on top an Emperator class titan.
Like I think that's kinda cool, but aren't titans not that big?
Yeah that’s uh
Maybe their homeworld monastery has a Imperator built into it for some reason
But yeh that’s too small
Ok so I don't think toybox can add nac insight
he posted this and was like "nuh uh" lol
And the Ad Mech/Titan Legios wouldn’t be allowed to be that closely tied to a marine Chapter
I don’t think he realizes how big chapters need them to be
And how, marines can’t have a titan
Eternal have I told you that I managed to soft lock myself
I'll let him dream lol, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't goin stupid
I think his chapter is very heavily integrated with the mechanicum, so maybe they got some sorta dealio
Oof
How
It’s not lore friendly but
Whatever
Mechanicus ties are one thing
But we see with the Steel Confessors what happens if they try to be that closely tied
Iron Hands are super closely aligned to them and even they wouldn’t and don’t have stuff like that
I’d suggest just having them have like
I charted an extra course and used up 6 nav insight
Now I don't have enough left to continue to act 3
An archeotech vehicle
Similar to the IH Land Behemoths
Those things are way beyond Imperators anyways
Can’t you go find more?
Damn
Only way to get it afaik is a random event while travelling dangerous routes
Yeap
What book are we talking about?
Just being real, no shot
Ocean is one thing
Kilometer long?
Like do you know how long that is?
That's around the era where uh the lead writer for the Titanicus came out and was like "Stop making titans the size of mountains, its stupid even for 40k."

I don’t mind them being big but they’ve never been that big
Okay so the issue is
an Imperator titan is like half the lower size of the empire states building
and people go
"thats small"
and im like
"have you ever stood next to a building before"
The issue is people got no idea how sizes relate to some thing's actual height, its a phenomenon not a lot of people know about and it applies to titan sizes too where people think them being the size of half a building is "small" for no reason lol
Blame the sky high pictures they always see
LEGIT
Giant Bipedal mechs is always a dumb idea so I’m not super worried either way it’s just, people don’t seem to realize how big a thing is
I studied this on architecture yeah it applies here too
very much just people not knowing how massive even basic titans are
Well the pov was from a person who is bad at distances then
they dont need to be mountain sized to be scary
Didn't they already demonstrate the sizes of all race titans in one of those 40k cinematic game trailer
Regardless, Imperators definitely don’t have kilometer long guns
yes but you forget
people are stupid
This was their lore
"The planet is on the edge of the eye of terror and the chapter has historically worked heavily with a knight house for centuries to protect their home planet from chaos
Logically the next step was for the titan to become a mobile command center for the space marine chapter"
And I told then knights aren't titans.
and they told me to shut up lol
They’ve big
You are not wrong
Well he sounds uh
Off topic Eldar titans scare me if they were real
He can do what he wants I guess cause idc
Astartes titans sure but ion like gigantic skinny robot wielding a sword
he did say it was his lore, its fun to bug him though lol
Scarry
Eldar titans are mostly based on Evangelion mechs which makes them incredibly athletic if they were allowed motion properly lol
Nah Imperators are not THAT small but the statue of liberty still dwarfs some
this is prob the most accurate chart
I know, it's why they scare me most
People always ask for hombres stuff if it’s reasonable in canon and then if you bring up that maybe then all being knight pilot terminators psykers who have bionics and all use volkite isn’t exactly lore friendly they get mad so idc
Ork stompas are goofy looking doe
Nah its pretty accurate
especially with some of the charts GW gave out
these landmarks are also MASSIVE
I'm still angry that I can't even progress
no titan in 40k is as big as those minus the Imperator and just slightly
reload a previous save bozo
That save was 20 hours ago
I'm still shitting bricks if I see an Eldar titan in action
YEAH
I save constantly!!
How do you not save before every space battle
You say you save constantly
That's how I know it was half my playthrough ago lmfao
Yeah that is MAD copium
I wonder if you could edit your save tbh
Might be a save editor up already
I'm trying to trigger the event rn
The navigator one?
Yeah
It should give me 2
Which should be enough to start the route
If I can get through and chart it I'll be grand
My dumb ass reducing the cost for the Imperium route earlier on

Had a brain fart
That's what I did
And it's now.biting me in the ass
And now I'm going between two systems fighting nonstop ship events
Idk how I even have any priests on board right now with how often I get the “spooky church” event
ok so
when every planet is the catholic church they are in endless supply
you guys played the mission where you stop the crazy lady from blowing up the reactor
aurora i think?
Lmaooo
on unfair difficulty
ITS LITERALLY CALLED UNFAIR
you have 2 fucking turns before it blows up right at the start
2 turns to kill tanky abominations
i have literally done every single side mission in the sector
my boys are as juiced up as they possibly can be
I feel like when you play on a difficulty called Unfair you kinda get what was advertised

all i can say is spamming abilities/perks
its usually the "fullproof" tactic but 💀
i know
i've been trying for 5 hours
i've been breezing through unfair until now
it's the fucking timer that's straight up impossible
it's doable if you save scum the shit out of the mission but holy shit is that not fun
Ok so
It seems there's two navigator events
One gives you 2 insight
Another takes away insight
Guess which one I got
im just going to reduce the difficulty for this one
Life really does hate me huh
unbalanced AF
it's less "oh this is challenging" and more "did anybody even playtest this?"
let's see how many tries it takes me on daring
btw
the longlas you get somewhere in chapter 2
chef's kiss
best gun in the game
You'll get better guns
no i wont
relatively
it's so fucking good for where it's obtained
you can one shot enemies from accross the map
that plus extra hit chances means you do guaranteed critical damage
snipers are straight up broken
1 pleb with a ballistic sniper rifle will straight up delete half my squad before i even get near them
Can pyskers generate wind warps
Depend on what you mean by wind warps
finished with 5 extra turns
and wow what a surprise the cultists were being played all along
💀
you know what fuck it
there's no way my character even knows who fulgrim is
and i want to see the outcome of this very clear trap
im taking the sword
How does the trade and rep system work

Noble Born, are the elite of Imperial worlds, the nobles, princes, and lords of cities, star systems, and planets ruling over boundless populations alongside other equally-privilege...
nothing like you'd expect
I can’t figure it out for the life of me
I have like a thousand guns in my ship
Where do I put all these guns
you give shit to them and eventually they let you have stuff if your trade value is high enough
Hypothetically, what would happen if a bunch of low ranking guardsmen and women hear that someone claims to be a proud Gue'vesa?
Certain factions are interest in certain things
You load said things into your cargo hold, which then let's you trade them to said factions
This increases your rep and lets you buy things from them
right click, add to cargo
Lynching
Very good very good
you know how it says 50% cargo or something
Wait, why? They're just dumb privates
Understood great
In the Cain books the Tau suggest they take a guevesa with them
Cain and co shut the idea down immediately, because she'd be lynched within a day
it's like units of cargo. when you reach 100% of a certain type of cargo you can sell it
some cargo is worth more % than others
it took me a while too
Holy, it's that bad?
My favorite part of rogue trader is where the rogue trader said "its trading time" and traded all over the place
i dont even know what a guevara is and i still want to exterminatus it
Its a tau alligned imperial
one that has forsaken parts of the imperial creed to live within tau society
i'd do it if it means i can use mechs
Human citizens of the Tau empire
It quite literally translates to "human helpers"
Or "human friends"
do they get to use mechs
Not sure, I'm pretty sure those mechs are only for selected fire caste chosen for the surgical procedures
They do get to have positions in the earth caste, water caste, and equivalent to defense force roles
well atleast you can tell people in the Imperium that you have proof that you killed a lot of Heretics
you got to manage resources to build profit
sometimes you need to sacrifice profit to obtain rare materials to build specific buildings on Planets you own
to gain more profit later
That aside, looks like I am moving more to Two-handed weapon and Heavy Bolter build later down the line once I can start building profit
I've been so busy exploring current maps in Chapter 2, I yet to unlock my first Planet to build on
Arch-militant really is a strange class to play since we need to constantly switch between melee and range to build class buff stacks
good thing soldier provides plenty of mobility skills like warrior

It genuinely is a community meme now
lmao
"They chose to use goliaths"
YEAH BECAUSE ITS A FUCKING VEHICLE
MY DAD USES A HONDA, DOES THAT MAKE HIM A MIDDLE-EASTERN TERRORIST?

arent goliaths like mining vehicle?
so like why wouldnt they be in the lower levels of a high?
because people are stupid
Toyota would be more accurate
true

Got the urge to make a melee psyker and dip my toes into a lil bit o heresy
Something funny about this
If you buy a knife made in Iraq, Iran, or Pakistan it 100% is a melted down honda/toyota/Ford bumper
I think we have stronger evidence than the Goliath or demo charges
You also get abilities which let you trigger movement after attacking
Using stuff like plasma to switch between aoe and single shot blasts helps too
I doubt gene stealers are coming any time soon but I dont think the truck or any environmental "evidence" substantiates it if that is being planned
I think they’re a likely addition eventually but yeah
The whole thing about genestealers is they improvise weaponry and equipment
It’s an obvious easy thing to justify and it works well for the format
first hit of the genestealer boof, you acquire a goliath
your technicals get more and more elaborate the more hits you take
The Goliaths aren't made by some genestealer only company lol
Toyota class tree
results of the toyota breeding program
People make fun of the halo show for the Chevy Tahoe
The show deserves to be made fun of dont get me wrong
But I totally buy insurgents in the future using beat up piece of shit chevies
Master chief ass cheeks
Chief could have massacred them all and he would have been justified
Chief fucking a covenant traitor while Cortana watches

I wish the settlement killed a few Elites before getting wiped.
The minigun forgot to deal damage until Chief picks it up.
So many of these shows with established properties being done by dogshit writers who want to make something their own
And “their own” fucking sucks
honestly a chevy is lore accurate for halo anyway
People who don't really understand why the narrative of the game is compelling because they barely played them
Yeah
But idk maybe they’re switching gears for the next seasons
I ain’t watching it either way
I wouldn't be surprised if some terrorist on a backwater planet had a Chevy even in the year 2500
I don’t care about showing chiefs face and all that either
I get that some stuff has to happen for a show
They could have the same cast and just done the general plot of Fall of Reach and I would have been happy
People really expect Master Chief's image to be given the same honors as Mohammed's and it's wild
In the comics we see chief's face here and there
And he's described a lot in the novels
The guy who played chief was a decent fit
I think he was given a bad script though
I do wish the "Chief has a smaller helmet under his helmet" was canon
Showing his face is fine, the other stuff was really out of character for him though
Yeah the actor was fine imo
It’s they did a lot of stupid shit
And also that
And clearly didn’t like the franchise
I actually thought the practical effects of the show were pretty good whenever they were present
But I think the emotional aspect of Spartans would have worked a lot better with Spartan 3s instead of blue team
Spartan 3s were war orphans turned into spartans as a means to make them useful
And they didnt go through the thorough augmentation and training that Spartan 2s did
Reach does a good job showing some of the bizarre and disturbing tendencies of Spartan 3 with Jun and Emile imo
Yeah like it’s hilarious how much they could have just vaguely kept to the original storyline and it would have been loved
It didn’t even have to be amazing
Idk where these writers get off, you’re being handed an easy dunk jfc
Same thing with the Witcher
Just stick to the general plot line
I thought the first season of the Witcher was okay
Like I don’t even expect the Eisenhorn TV show, or whatever Amazon ends up doing, to be amazing but I do think GW has probably taken steps to ensure it sticks to the general deal
I didnt pay attention to much of season 2 so I can't really weigh in
And that’s all you need man really
And I had to stop watching the last season
First one was fine, and it largely kept to I think the first book?
Slight changes
Last two it just
Kept going way off
Slighr changes are a given in any adaptation
It’s a dead horse at this point but yeah
Some things just work better in literature than on screen
Yeah no one minds slight changes to stuff
It’s when you’re completely warping characters and plot lines for bad or dumb reasons
Well I shouldn’t say no one
But it’s ok and expected
A lot of diehard asoiaf fans hate game of thrones in its entirety for omitting characters or giving some characters lines that weren't theirs
If you read asoiaf, the amount of named characters (INCLUDING SOME WHO SHARE THE SAME NAME) is staggering
I think the last few seasons were bad like everyone else, but I wont pretend the first 4 seasons weren't television kino because patchface wasn't shown or mentioned
Yeah like you have to adapt stuff and that means changing and condensing
The Expanse is probably the best example I can think of for this
Hell they improved a lot of characters
I think even the author has said that
Game of thrones got worse the more budget they had lol
Yes
They also ran out of books
And they just didn’t like some characters
And didn’t know what to do with them
Like Stannis?
Although the first seasons steal a lot of cool moments from tyrion for budget reasons
The first season had a small budget right
Great actor, great character
Relatively small anyway
Tyrion gets knocked out and wakes up later in his first battle with the mountain clan vanguard in the show
Fairly yeah we
In the book, tyrion was stacking bodies
They had to skip so many battles
He even impaled a horse with a pike on his helmet
My biggest biggest gripe
Cause ironically the first seasons are where all the big stuff happens
Also in the book Tyrion is a sympathetic monster, not a hero as the show makes him out to be.
All the battles later are way way shorter
Also he’s not hot lol
He becomes dramatically less sympathetic as the series continues
That being said, tywin ruined his children
do you need persuasion on your RT or can one of your party handle it?
And tyrion got the worst of it
So it makes sense why he's a monster
That was the battle of the black water
One of your party can do it but it's a nice dump stat and has lots of items that boost it
He’s an ugly mfer
Book tyrion was also fairly ugly before his injury in the book
But it’s how it goes
I dont think a single POV describes him as anything but hideous
But humans are naturally predisposed to empathize with people we see as conventionally attractive
King's Guard early on vs later
So on the screen, he wouldn't be a popular character if he was ugly
Not the Mountain he was fine mostly
Because cersei didn't have a trial by combat
I do love his and the Hounds final moment
Brienne of tarth is also mishandled but that's because the show omitted lady Stoneheart
Sad but fitting, that whole thing with the Hound telling Ari to not follow him is great
Rare good bit at the end
I don't know why this happened
I think the big reason lady Stoneheart was omitted is because game of thrones was at its peak in popularity when fantasy as a genre was much less popular in the cultural zeitgeist
But the costume design must've gone through a phase or something
WHY IS EVERYONE WEARING BLACK
AND NOTHING ELSE
i'm seeing theories that rannick is the traitor?
So magical resurrection was something the showrunners didn't want to touch
Euron utterly obliterated and sterilized as a character in the show
Generic bad boy pirate vs the harbinger of a dark aquatic apocalypse
But yeah, Ser Barrister was just
People are adamant there's a traitor where there probably isn't one
Disappointing conclusion
There’s theories everyone is tbh
We don’t know and tbh I think like Ederius says
There isn’t one
There is no traitor
Rannick being one would be so fucking boring and cliche
I like my take more
Tywin's riding around in a crimson sash meanwhile everyone else just wears black
everyone is a traitor, the girl from the cutscene was the only loyalist
and i got photo evidence
In the book he wears gold plated steel with crimson enamel
Ok Grandma time to go inside now
Gonna stick my foot up your-
With two MASSIVE golden pauldrons depicting lions encrusted in rubies
Holding up a 9-foot-long cloth of gold cape
You know that gun fired rounds more expensive than the ship we’re on probably
He is described like a rising sun atop a hill as he oversees a battle
Tywin took drip or drown to its absolute extreme
I don't blame them for not going accurate on armours too much but as I said
Their designs take a very sharp nosedive after a certain point
I don’t mind all that as much yeah
Yeah George Martin demonstrates his lack of knowledge in medieval arms and armor when he describes shit like this
I can put up with a lot it’s just at a certain point you’re forgetting everything about the characters to subvert expectations or whatever
I cringe every time I read "bastard sword"
game soft locked on me again
I know George Martin actually enjoys painting medieval miniatures
So there's a possibility he enjoys warhammer
Season 1 armour
Probably, he needs something to occupy his time, since there's nothing else important he should be doing.
Final season
The early seasons of got do a really good job of costuming even without being accurate to the book
Surely a scholar came up with this theory
By like season 5 or so
Seeing Sansa's dresses get tighter on her body as she's kept hostage is a good example
They're just pulling custom made dresses from some old lady's wardrobe
She isn't given new clothing or materials to make her own
So she starts to outgrow her dresses
More leather
Which is brilliantly contrasted by Joffrey who never wears the same pattern of silk twice iirc
More black leather!!!!
It worked for vikings!!!!!
I feel like half their stuff is just taken from their costume department lol
In braavos, you see a lot of fluted collars
Which could indicate the history of slavery in braavos
Escaped slaves growing accustomed to metal collars around their necks wear collars as a clothing choice
In the north, a lot of the clothing is obviously suited to the winter conditions. When ned goes to king's Landing, he's constantly drenched in sweat because he doesn't have anything light to wear
is there precedence for this
The history of slavery? Yes
That being related to them wearing collars is just conjecture
Braavos is one of the free cities on planetos founded by slaves escaping old valyria
My point in mentioning this is that even the costumes of game of thrones tell stories
Or used to at least
Even the cursed Tully armour is better than just the drab garbage by the later seasons
Agreed
Though I guess we can propose that everyone wearing black could be due to lack of available dyes being traded during war
or a cinematic choice to make the characters more depressing
Is it a bad idea to swap out pascals default armor?
I mean, black isn’t a super common color in nature
Yeah but then there's the heaps and heaps of styled black leather lol
Wouldn't say bad but sub-optimal, it's really good
Yeah the show definitely took a dramatic drop in attention to detail in the later seasons
black is probably one of the easiest dyes to make
Give pascal some heavy armor and his forge world talent. Good stuff
As I mentioned Sansa visibly outgrowing her dresses is such a subtle detail that says so much about her living conditions
just get some charcoal, grind it down and put it in a liquid solution
Ok cause I was thinking of having him wear heavy armor and go for steel of the forge
Do what this guy said methinks
Also it's less the like
Plausability of the colour
More that they're all wearing weird taloired biker gear leather lol
And everything else aside from that is black too
By the end you literally can't tell who's who because there's nothing but black on any of them
i gave him a sniper rifle which is so fucking good on him
Everything's just black and silver
snipers are meta as fuck
am i the only one who struggles with soldiers
like their damage output is dog shit
and they always die immediately
There’s ways to make them work well. You might wanna go on the owlcat discord tho
I just combine Argenta with my Officer RT
She shot fkn
6 bursts with her Heavy bolter in one turn lol
joining a game discord is straight up ruining any future attempts at having fun
Yeah talking here is funnier because half of us have no idea what we're doing
yeah im so glad i made my rogue trader an officer
i give him a longlas and boom he can stay far away while giving orders and popping heads
It was a bit of a slog having mine an officer but now with master tactician I get to order everyone around like crazy and also deal absurd damage
So if I go heavy weapon proficiency on a soldier with Never Stop Shooting, and hopefully try to use weapons with high fire rate, what talents should I grab?
I'm running dry on talents I know I want
i kinda regret choosing the forge world origin and going with the armour implants instead of the brain thingy that increases crit chance with intelligence
Is it Argenta
If yes
Just use her bolter
Nah, custom character
bolters in general are so weak sauce
Ah
Use a lasgun or bolter
I went without argenta this run
but what about heavy weapons
It'll take you a bit to find them methinks
I assumed heavy weapons would let me get like a big ass stubber or something
So just make due with those until you can get to a heavy bolter or something like that
well he already has the perk
I just swapped out her bolter and the heavy is pretty wacky lol
wait ed
What if I dont want to use bolter weapons? I assume theres other heavy weapons
you kept her bolter until like chapter 3
rn he's using autoguns, so should I run solid weapon proficiency
Yeah between the relic that makes single shots auto hit and my officer and improved bolters
She just butchered everything by way of Volume of Fire
nah solid weapon expertise is dog shit
is there like a big weapon with lots of fire rate? I thought I could get like some ogryn style weapons
just 2 more minimum damage is nothing
Heavy Bolter has a fire rate of 8
Heavy bolter
hm
I think there's heavy stubbers but I've yet to see them
so you did switch out her bolter
I've got a multi melta on her for emergency also
Damn, Karnak twins got hands.
I’m rolling up another save file for MP
ed her bolter has the worst damage output of a boltgun in the game
So un
Oh I had her using the Precise bolter if that's what you meant
Can get it pretty quickly from the Kasballica
So should I run bolters until I find one?
that's not her original bolter
if I find one
it has a specific name
Oh yeah the unique one I dumped like 30 hours ago lol
yeah it sucks so much
I wish there was a way to repair it instead of dumping it
It’s so you don’t get a full power one
They're precise enough and pretty beefy with your heroic/burst spam
At the start of the game tbh
Same
i dumped her completely for now because bolters can't hit shit and their damage output is dog shit
i need that 95% hit chance
snipers
Yirlet
Hit chance is pretty stupid in this game
Moment
I guess I'll use bolters until I find a heavy stubber
With bursts I keep hitting things at >20%
NO SPOIL
My RT is our sniper and it's good to just delete a mook every round
I still haven’t found a better set of Ad Mech robes for pascal, just the different axes
She has a sniper
i gave pasqal a sniper
SHES LITERALLY A RANGER
I think once I only got 0% and still hit like 3/4 shots
She has it in the loading screen
She’s also an ||Eldar||

mf's holding a bolt action rifle on a mecha arm
I don’t mean to spoil this either
But that space wolf you see in the loading screen?
||He’s in the game||
i will not click that
bolters or heavy stubbers?
Hes in the game
I'm going to swap Idira for Yrliet, I'm currently sending in Abe and Pasqal first to tank, Cassia behind them to AoE groups, and keeping my RT behind cover to snipe a mook into non-existence every round
Cause I'm hoping to find one of those
Bolters
Idira is so fucking dangerous
seriously burst fire makes no fucking sense
I think you can find a modified bolter somewhere
On Rykad
And also other things
You have to improve her
It becomes better
i have
It doesn't, but it works!
her burst fire is pretty reliable for me
it works but the stats lie so much
