HERETIC DETECTED.
Idk if like, an inquisitor would give a fuck about conditions like these though
But I also don't think any book will ever explore the topic so
REPORT TO THE INQUISITOR'S CHAMBERS FOR IMMEDIATE PURGING
you would have to test trillions of people for small, mostly benign mutations
40k mutations are only problematic when its VERY obvious stuff
and physical
In actual practicality most mutations that matter in 40k come from chaos
Nah
Lol it really is a superficial term
most of it is planetary
or just living conditions
Either "khorn loves this dude" or "this dude's mom was exposed to chaos radiation"
boils that, when popped, release warp energy
It doesn't necessarily make you evil and it doesn't necessarily mean a god gives a fuck tho
If you dont look weird, you're human. If you do, you're not. That's literally the Imperiums way of looking at it. It's why, even though psychers are abhumans, they aren't categorized with them. Cause they look normal till they shoot out lighting and shit demons.
Yep
I imagine in the Imperium there's like, mutants (your blood type is not what you'd expect) and Official Mutants, where the Genetors have looked at you and gone "Shit's fucky, not real human"
the Imperium's way of handling mutants is pretty much just a big WW2 Germany allegory
the only reason they dont use the term "sub-human" is to keep it all PG13
100%
Best way to put it
busting out the cranial measurement tool
I mean there's a reason there's skulls everywhere
It's a bit more understandable considering Tzeentch
Not good but like.. I can see how you got here
tbh
if i went through a bad warp storm and some of my buddies sprouted tentacles from their eyes and lunged at me
Yeah as I said a kid having a third arm in 40k is a bit different from a kid having a third arm irl
i might be skeptical of similar mutation
I think we all understand why the imperium is fucky wucky. Lol but we all also admit that it's fucky wucky sooooo...
my team was wandering about in the new area and they started going on about someone named krall
is this someone we know
oh
"Let's remove this so he can have a higher quality of life" vs "Let's remove him so we can have a higher quality of life"
has his own cutscene and everything
I always forget about him
i totally forgot about him
barber surgeons were a real thing irl
lol
Thats mostly because a lot of people dont really change their appearance much
doctor barber from flapjack is barely a joke

Yep and thinking about what they did terrifies me
Well knowing how to wash tools and how to cut is needed in both so
Make him be mission control for a mission. Have him task us with downloading medical data or retrieving some hairstyle guides
I'll remember him better
Also some mourningstar radio chatter
i have a friend who is an orphan from russia or ukraine (he doesn't know which exactly)
and he was born with an extra thumb on both hands
which have since been medically removed
oh
She had two fingernails on each
my girlfriend is a twin
she absorbed her twin in the womb
don't know if that necessarily counts
"Hey Morrow, can you maybe train your recruits to not catch every bullet with their bodies? I just spend an hour pulling them all out this sap.. might have missed one."
"He's alive ain't he? Knows better than to do it again. Send them back to me when they're awake."
no discernible physical abnormalities
I hope Krall is actually the best fighter on the Mourningstar and the reason he isnt on the frontlines is because hes too powerful to use
he can cut more than hair
Its bizarre because he is THE ONLY Mourningstar person that doesn't have vox-chatter dialogue.
I guess its because hes... well just a fucking barber and has no place in the war-effort
He'll cut the world in half
No one would go on atoma if they weren't as drippy as could be tbf
driptide is the true endgame of darktide
He's also the surgeon
Like.. he presumably fixes us up, does quarantine..
You'd think the medical guy would have some lines
"Melk, haven't seen you in my door for a while. You're due a trim, aren't you?"
"Last time I used your establishment you tried to, quote, give my nose a fix or two. I am not using your services again."
the zealot eating a mace blow from a crusher but still having a perfect set of teeth
thanks krall
He is a barber-surgeon
the servitors do all the work anyway
Okay point. There must be someone who diagnoses.
Oh yeah true
We need a Hospitaller
Field Chirurgeon would be nice in the middle of a quarantine zone
Melk is more intelligence officer no?
the fanatic zealot personality mentions getting into theological arguments with melk
and melk is often critical of his sermons
Fair
The medical system is highly automatised for gameplay purposes (medkits, servitors) but I do wonder who like
Makes that shit
Mmm tasty medicae goop
I'm sure there are no long-term medical effects from injecting this stuff
Feel bad hearing those medicae servitors asking us to take them with us.
Just don't listen to them
so i did a little bit of sightseeing in carnival and i gotta say
the environmental storytelling is funny
I kinda want my ogryn to be able to wear one as a backpack "OKAY MEDI MAN YOU CAN COME WITH". rips unit from wall
there are restaurants with plates of food still lying around
like we jumped the moebian 6th at dinner
Krall when he sees a tuft of hair sticking out on the side of someone's head unnaturally
He's the one making sure the ogryns are all bald
Before it was called the carnival district. for some reason I thought we'd be going to the "red" light district.
krall is an adamus assassin undercover
we are
DUDE THATD BE REALLY FUNNY IF HE WERE
Krall is the real traitor
Honestly I'd kinda love him to have a twist like that to justify him appearing more
sometimes the funniest twist is no twist
Just reminding us he's around with some chatter would be fine tho
it sucks because Krall has such a good voice actor too
I would just love him to be a crouching moron/hidden tiger kind of character
final darktide cutscene
Not a moron just a little insane and quirky
krall throws a pair of scissors at nurgle
nurgle dies
krall: I guess the real darktide was the friends we made along the way
He then teleport jutsu's away
"How old is Krall anyway?" "Oh he's been here as long as I can remember. Probably way older on the inside, and plies his trade on his own face."
He is in an inquisitor's retenue
Presumably he doesn't just do great fades
Possibly yeah though Id imagine he just likes sticking to a humble hobby like surgery
Actually there's a thought. Is he Grendyl or Brahm?
have you seen rannick's haircut
but since he has an ENTIRE chamber dedicated to him Brahms is a safer bet i think.
Both a RT and an Inquisitor can use a surgeon who can change appearances
Grendyl struggling to make ends meet
The inquisition has fallen
Millions must exterminatus
Best argument. He's Rannick/Grendyl's man.
Post?
"You seeing this shit?"
I honestly thought he was the traitor when the traitor bits starting going around
can't deny it though
He just has that face
the drip goes crazy
God the artwork is so good, like how did they get the patterns down on the coat
Imperium has an aesthetic
i have a thing for riding boots in any media
One thing I do love with Darktide is the patterned fabrics
God I love subtle patterns
sometimes it reminds me of chowder lol
but yeah it's drippy
some more concept art
Is that an ogryn with a... hellgun?
It looks like the backpack unit is feeding into his gun
preacher with a servo skull
the uh
blackstone fortress preacher model has a combat servoskull
there's a table that has a loaf of moldy bread on it
Looks like a charonite backpack on the ohryn
Idea for ogryn
Big Friendly Skull
They yeet it, the skull floats back, repeat
delicious
veteran is literally just a cadian 💀
Is that like a Bane mask with druuuugs?
EXACTLY
did you just make this??
LMAO
I love it
that would be a great meme template
Im gonna try something with it tomorrow i think
Yeah same backpack
"Take a look at this dweeb."
Now I want an Ogryn ability that lets him just
Go apeshit
Drugged up and punching
Doom's rage power up style
LMAO
Me not giving a shit wtf the vets are complaining about for the 1039th time
the vet keystones are great though
Vets when anything happens
I legit got no idea wtf they are talking about yeah
I get a couple of their complaints, but its crazy how theyre screaming about how bad Vet is
But like.. that's a potent tool
Chainsaw, engraved bayonet on a flamethrower wielded by someone with a bear head and metal armor
Yep
40k
vet using new tag keystone with plasma gun
i had a lobby where the vet oneshot a beast of nurgle with it
ZAMN
Also they appear to have bolted a spiky crown to their head
Or is that behind them..
it's also the latest commodore vestment cosmetic for zealot
I'd believe either tbh
The Concussion Special
don't forget the random bone on the chainflamer
Ofc
Oh yeah
it's a beautiful model though
...it's not even like a saintly token attached to it
There is a designated slot for a cartoon bone
Bet you the mechanicum doesn't know why it has to be there
But it doesn't shoot if there isn't the load bearing firing bone
the psyker standing on that aquila makes me nervous
"My beloved says it's perfectly safe!"
"How'd your assigned psyker die ?"
"..... fighting"
Even Fatshark knew to give Wolfer a glowup
he looks fucking badass
only complaint, he needs a cape
or like a shoulder-cloth
The cape of plot relevance
his bottom-torso is too blank
"No CAPES!-Edna
LMAO
be funny if every time we saw him he got drippier
i nae nae'd too close to the warp
Lmao what have I come back to
I play one game and horus is getting chucked into jet liners
He needs a toga
Imagine him in a toga
Doing philosophy with the other Moebian 6th officers
I mean with the greek/Roman themes the imperium loves, it's honestly not hard
Have you read lord of silence ? They actually do nurglite philosophy in that book it's dope
Yeah wolfers armor is cool but
have you guys had fun with the bell on the new map
king darius and one of his counsellors flicking his fit for the gram
Just a bald guy in a toga
Waist cloths on armor look cool
Waist cloths in general look dope
They said subspecies
thats why they can interbreed
I'd assume this is just GW being bad at science
tbh
Also old lore i guess
"Jumping up onto the metallic base of the malfunctioning Pylon, Calgar braced himself and heaved with both hands at its crescent-shaped superstructure. Servos and pistons whined in protest as the famed Gauntlets of Ultramar left grooves in its living metal.
Teeth gritted and eyes screwed tight, the Chapter Master pushed with everything he had, veins popping under his close-cropped grey hair. He roared in pain with the bone-breaking effort of his feat, but sure enough the Pylon began to move on its bearings, its flaring gauss beam crackling across the skies above the warring armies. Slowly, inexorably, Calgar pushed the war engine’s crescent back upon itself until its beam met the energy grid that protected the floating necropolis."
calgar lifting a fucking pylon
GW is absolutely bad at science
This is like one of those times where you run out of a response on a question for a test, so you just write filler words to make it sound smart and that you were paying attention.
this is old stuff thankfully
back when ultramarines could just do whatever all the time
and we can argue that the gauntlets of ultramar have like
warp fuckery in them
Gotcha. I mean in a way, it makes some small sense
Ogryns and such would technically be subspecies, their mutation seems to be fairly broadband and stable amongst the population, and inheritable
So yea, makes some small sense.
Yeah they are all human at the end of the day
the only questionable "abhuman" are the Votann
who are entirely a clone-race at this point and may as well be considered semi-nonhuman
they're clones?
Yes
Not complete clones but they're all derived from another
They got mutations that differentiate them
"hold on a minute something is crawling around the world as if it just heard the word sex"
They would still be abhuman
C'mon at their size? They ain't even gonna make the bed bounce.
There is nothing in their cloning process that makes them inhuman. The Ai Votann simply mixes DNA from an old databank for optimization
That's literally it
thats just you being open-minded
And that is imagery that is going to scar my life
And they have tech from the Dark age
now try asking rest of the world is a clone of another human would be considered a human

then it gets deep
I guess it depends if they have women or at least a version of themselves that has female reproductive organs. Otherwise they probably dont need to if they have cloning tech
i don't need to have Meme chat level arguments anytime soon my guy i'm going to be honest
@storm jungle yes. It would be a human. Now whether they are the same person, or whether the clone has the same rights are ethics questions we know the imperium isn't asking
It's why the Votann will do anything they can to keep them from learning about it
On the topic of their reproduction, seemingly yes the Votann could have sex and reproduce that way, there is no reason to think they are sterile and haven't been stated to be. But they wouldnt anyway because their culture values efficacy and efficiency and the AI ensures that during the cloning process. Each Votann is tailor made from the databank of their founders DNA, each and every sequence, to fit their prescribed role in society
I think the only worry would be because they're clones, its essentially inbreeding right?
So their next generation is likely to have something fucked up about 'em
@outer wave no. The databank is massive and the ai can ensure that there is never ill effects
I see I see
yeah the votann homebrew also allows you to give em unique mutations/looks
@outer wave the bad things in inbreeding occur fir a few reasons. 1, the gene pool shrinks from 2 peiple to 1 and a half(ish), meaning that there is now an excessive amount of duplicate genes, so less genes to vary and more chances for the less prominent, more fucked shit to show
So i can make them tall?
- It's all randomized, meaning all the fuckery above has no limit or stopgaps
Finally
The Votann in the other hand, is not. The entire genetic sequencing is controlled, so there are never duplicates, unfavorables are selected out, and so on
@queen laurel there are tall Votann. They are just rare I believe. No reason they wouldnt be. I don't even think they are usually much shorter than the average imperial
Like, if we use the minis for a size comparison
They are maybe half a foot shorter at most
They're the white armored one btw
Not much shorter. Just an average
So I'd say yeah, there are probably Votann taller then some imperials
Is there like, an average size somewhere then?
@storm jungle that's fair. I know that they aren't always but I didn't know of a better way lol
Lmao thats fair
theres no official height chart so best you can rely on is lore stuff
You think the auspex recalibrating minigame is accurate or representational
Ehhh... nit really. But it works. I mean it's 1000s of years ahead tech
We punch highlighted squiggly lines
I can't help but think Ogryn should have a harder time of it if its representational, even if it wouldn't be fair
I think it's ok lol
@lapis wadi lol yeah, my ogryn should not be able to fly though it, that's fair lol
Ogryn goes to debug interrogator... stares at inking screen... hits Interrogator until it works again
Maybe they should have a different minigame
Timing based concussion maintenance
Tech adept just yanks the skull off, resets, and shoves it back on
"Did ANY of you try just turning it off and on again?"
🤣
The fact the ogryn CAN do it sort of implies that the reset really is just a single button when the symbols line up
(Its gameplay conceit in reality I know)
Psycher blasts it with electricity, with a veritable chance it overloads and backtracks, making you stay longer lol. Cause of course they'd fuck psycher lol
Make it optional if you use your Ability while troubleshooting
Zealot should just mumble how they don't understand this technology
"Now its.. oh..no.. by the Throne why is it always so difficult.."
Honestly this would be dope in general for shitty teammates or in private runs. Would let you knock a horde off with shout while fixing it.
Could come in clutch
Veteran just complains they always break and hopes for a better interogator
This I mean
If they do introduce a tech adept, I hope they justify the adept not being the best at data-interrogation with a voiceline or two.
"Tech! Why is the blasted machine not running?" / "I could do this part of your job with ease!"
"I am not a damned lexmechanic!" / "I'll fix it when you are silent for a second!"
This would be dope
And I really do hope they add more characters. Hell I just want more period from this game lol. I've been loving it
Because yeah a mechanically minded character with implants should in theory have a bonus over other characters at repair
Definitely
Though ogryn doesn't have a penalty so ehhhh
Please Fatdhark add timing based whacking minigame for ogryn
Lolz
The Gaming Gods, you know!
Lol... what were there names....
Think one started with a K...
And another an.... S maybe?
Oh and the other two had an N and a T
I wonder if there are any planets that regard the Primarchs as gods
And the Emperor as like, the High King of Gods
Yes. There is. Literally one as a child was worshipped I think
It'd probably be close enough for the ecclisiarchy to shrug and say "yeah sure"
And people of that culture could then say "by the gods"
@storm jungle am I wrong in this?
I think it was Sangy right?
Or maybe Guilliman....
Like there are WAY more egregious misinterpretations of rhe Imperial Cult out there for them to care much
Ayy!!!
Guilliman basically grew up as a roman kid
Lol right right
He a good boi
Raised right
Didn't he have a mortal wife or something too
Like political alliance type
I miiight be remembering a fanfic
My introduction to 40k was one riddled with memes and non-canon stuff
here's a Votann diplomat and an Imperial one
So, like... seriously. That's not that much of a size difference. Humans already have size differences like that without mutations
I dont think it's much of a stretch to say some could be equal in height or even taller, it'd just be rare
The average though does seem to be around 4'5"
@arctic talon
BTW, as much as gw seems to hate on AI Art, I'm almost certain half the art I see from Warhammer Community is Ai Generated. Even that one. Hands are a tale tell for ai art, and well, look at their hands
its not AI art on WHC
As far as we know
That specific guys art always looks super fucking weird
And this was before there were good AI art models
Reports say theres at least 50 loyalists holed up in the Amphitheatre
game confirms were a force to be a reckoned with and not a bunch of shitters
50 player rejects would be terrifying
Paul Daiton's art always is super weird looking
His hands always look fucked its weird lol
Hey as a sketch artist I can relate
Like for his old portrait art he avoided drawing hands
Hands are fucked up to draw lol
which I don't blame him
hands are hard to draw lol
these are like his best hands imo
that he's ever drawn
They're gripping something, that's why lol
LOL TRUE
I'm the same way dammit 🤣
Ehhh... till you look at his ring and pinky
Dang
Then he suddenly has six fingers lol
his really really old Dark Elf art
And that's why I sometimes wonder if it's ai
from the codex
also has the weird ass hands
which is why I don't think its AI personally
the psyker art is from 4 years ago as well
@arctic talon at past they make sense somewhat with their body modification
Theu should look weird lol
They don't? I thought they did? Ain't that like the humunculabas whole schtick?
Ooooh. Idk much about fantasy my bad I honestly thought that was eldar
tbh
they got the tall helmet lol
But you can see a effigy to khaine in the background
Which the Dark Eldar don't worship
but Dark Elves are a big fan of
Thought that was another Eldar lol just getting it
big boy
but yeah I'd also call his stuff AI art if like
he didn't always have the jankiest fucking hands known to man
Didn't really put the perspective, in well, perspective lol
Figured it was just a dope background and nah, that's a real dude towering over other people
I found the codex heh
The ship mistress speaks with Hadron
Is montov a character in 40k
wondering cause I am seeing so many people named that
unless its just a name generator thing
Name generator thing
but its an actual name as well in warhammer 40k
there's prolly some throwaway character in a book with that name
@snow fern Lol yeah, I just got this one lol
She makes fun of her for leading this mission, and Hadron is like, "I'm efficient bish" and ship mistress is like "Good. Yall need that lol"
She a savage lol
so uh I dont know anything about 40k or warhammer etc
who is this emperor fella? what did he do? Is he still around? Is he a normal human?
The Emperor was the person who founded the Imperium. He is not a normal human, he's immortal, very large and the strongest human psyker the universe has ever seen. He is currently still alive on the golden throne keeping the astronomicon lit and a giant warp rift underneath Terra closed
He's the guy
He's also technically Anatolian if you were wondering
what part of Earth he came from
but he can appear however he pleases
He's also old as shit
He also is so powerful that while powering the astronomicon and closing the webway shut he can still manifest himself and use his ability to aid battles across the imperium where necessary
he can't manifest himself tbf
his powers yeah
but not like his actual physical body and mind
He's a bit too shattered for that
one of the biggest examples of this is when guilliman was killed by mortarion. The emperor became so enraged he possessed guilliman and banished mortarion, then went to nurgle and burnt his entire garden
Not his entire garden
it was only a portion
before he got kicked out
also mortarion didn't get banished
It wasn't his entire garden yeah
@arctic talon ok... so... Lol on the very large part. That's up for debate. Nobody, literally nobody, has ever seen the emperor in his true Visage. He always appears as he wants to be percieved
a stern talking
you can't banish a daemon from the Warp
they sort of belong there
mortarion made the fuck up of the century by dragging Guilliman into the garden
since he gave big e a free way in
- he could have just finished off Guilliman in real space instead of gloating to him in the garden lol
Kugath getting told he is a bitch no longer Nurgles favorite because of his titanic fuck up was fun
Closest would be the primarch that saw him while he was still in a test tube being created
mortarion can beat a primarch but got his heart carved by a grey knight
Specifically designed to fight daemons too
and literally everyone died lol
except that 1 grey knight
Still a stupid story imo
but there's some logic to it
besides power level scaling is silly in warhammer
whoever wins is whoever the writer wants to win
there's basic rules to said power level of things but they can be changed
So... like every other franchise
That's how it always works lol
That's why I never try to be to anal on the power level of things. They literally are never consistent no matter what franchise you're talking about
Powerscaling is poison for the mind
I might note how silly it is, but aside from that 🤷♂️

Like, it's silly I just fought and killed two beasts of burgle, two plague ogryn, and whatever the other monstrosity is, along with the thousand plus horde. That's silly
But 🤷♂️ sure was fun though
its a video game, in fire warrior you literally slay multiple greater daemons
Fire Warrior justifies this in the book funnily enough
Exactly lolol
it's quiet
and goes insane at the end of it
@median marsh a lil bit yea 😔
Amazing
He hits them with the "Blood for the blood god"
lol
Which is really funny from a Tau firewarrior
Who would win... one insane fire warrior or...
I'm convinced fire warrior guardsmen are just deaf from the artillery shelling
And don't realize it
Did you mean quite? Lol I thought you were talking about how there weren't many talking I'm here like usual lol
Oh lolol
Like every 5 seconds
its quiet
I was still wrong. Double wrong. Wrong x Wrong, and I still didn't make a right. This is some sad ass shit. I'm disappointed in myself lolol.
gestures atthe rest of 40k
idk
@median marsh definitely looks familiar
I have a theory
Think I've seen one with a guardsmen like that or something
@wintry lintel lmg, honest Abe was big E?
exactly
Lol somebody actually said that to me once
Could be true in 40k lore
You never know
Bit too egalitarian tbh
The emperor isn’t a huge fan of things like democracy
It's this world, 40,000 years in the future. And the Emperor has existed all this time. Right now, irl, he is supposed to basically be drifting between different aliases influencing the world
He absolutely could have been
Mfw there are several space marine helmets in the skull pile
Emps was Hitler then hotswapped into Mao
But @arctic talon is right, his policies aren't exactly what the emperor had in mind lol
He supposedly appeared to humanity as several prominent figures in history, but that might be retconned
Nope. He did. Mofo could have been jesus
what isnt retconned at this point
He has, but not always as the good person
@slate belfry nothing and everything
Not much gets retconned tbh
Anything pre 3e and like
4 books
Oh also oldcrons
I don’t consider rewrites that make things less stupid retcons personally
Or things that give more context
Not even. A lot of people like to think 3e and before was re-conned, but a lot of it just isn't mentioned much. Unless lore specifically started going a certain direction, I don't like to think anything is retconned
Because weren't the Votann for awhile, and then they were brought back?
Those were imperial squats
That got eaten by nids
They didn’t get retconned funnily enough just eaten by the nids and fridges
Before necromunda brought them back in 7e
And then we got votaan as a full faction in 9e
Who aren’t imperial aligned
Which is the best part about Votann
Well... OK. Guess I was wrong there. But like, still... I think I'm fairly valid in what I'm saying...
Just said I was wrong there....
Lol no worries
3e is just what I personally consider the start of modern warhammer
Tbh
Regarding like the theming, visuals and lore
Right right. But a lot of them really old ideas are still floating out in the ether
Yeah
The biggest loss of modern 40k
Oh for sure
the end of 40k will look something like this
Gave it direction and cut fluff it didn't need
This is the start of 40K it’s a true master piece
time is a flat circle
So is the Earth

Lol kidding before someone's brain explodes lol
a good friend of mine had a phase of being a Catholic flat-earther and spent significant effort reconciling that with astrology
great guy
Lol that's a hellova mix... did he get out of it?
Wonder what’s in the heretic combat stimm mix
Lol
A fuckton of drugs
he's now wandering the US and writing a book on his ontological model based on the based/cringe duality while still Catholic
Meth
His ontological model on the based/cringe duality? And he's still catholic? Or he's writing the model on the based/cringe duality of still being a Catholic?
Honestly confused
Partly because I'm not sure what that is and I'm about to look it up lolol
Tbh Derivatives are in modern stimulants

mb but yes it's all that within a Catholic context
also lots of political seething
So... from my basic understanding from Google, an ontology is just a grouping of entities, usually vocabulary and how it's used, to then group and define for ease of sharing and use in research. Your guy sounds like a cool and very weird dude lol
He's very weird and is actually somewhat known on the internet
but i wont out him lol
Lol yea, let's not
Don’t doxx yourself or your friend
This lol
i grew up in a time where it was very strange to put personal info on the internet
so daijobu lol
meanwhile
i wonder what's next with the overall story of 40k
seems like theyre moving toward something big with all these notable figures coming out of the woodwork
They’re gona somehow resolve the nid thing first
Prolly gona be the first warzone book
Or white dwarf lore dump
I don't know what the big picture plot will be, but I'm interested to see what the dynamic is between Guilliman and the Lion now that they're both active.
I wonder what's next
whatever flavor of a big war with huge implications ending up changing nothing
tbh if we're following imperium, it'd be interesting to see the primarchs going around and regrouping
imagining them heading to the warp to find Khan or reawakening Vulkan
last big shake up was fall of cadia, 6 years ago?
after that, indomitus, plague wars, nachmund, octarius, arks of omen... things still remained more or less the same
and now we got the nid wars
...maybe ferrus is gonna come back?
(would love him to, dude has tons of storytelling potential seeing his legion then vs now)
fair
probably Russ or Khan next
Whether it happens or not it's such a good visual to imagine, I love this visual of the heights all lit up with candles and lights in the usual smog in the lived in mining pit that's cool
Maybe some of the super ancient tanks are down there as lil idols like a malcador because it's so dang old and the name
This is the best video introduce about Psyker life in the Imperium in the nutshell
I hope this would be the right place to ask but does anyone know what these 2 big fellas are? I think they look pretty cool and cant seem to find anything about them
again, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, just tell me and point me in the right direction and I'll delete and go there
the one that is on the left is an imperial knight the one on the right is a wraithknight
tysm, trailer has been sitting in the back of my head for a while and couldnt find anything
hold on I am going to get a better link
Imperial Knights are towering bipedel engines of war that hail from feudal worlds of the Imperium known as Knight Worlds. Each Knight is piloted by a single Noble pilot from within the Throne Mechanicum.[11c] Knights which are sworn to the service of the Emperor are known as Questor Imperialis. Knights which are sworn to the Omnissiah are known ...
Wraithknights are colossal Eldar Wraithbone constructs.
want to learn more about them these are places you can read about them
Imperial Knight Paladin gang
i'm more of a Knight Valiant man myself
or the Dominus Pattern
which one is bigger. wraithlords or wraithknights?
Knights I think
Aren't Wraithlord the Warhound equivalent ?
apparently dreadnoughts
Huh that small ?
wow they tiny
Yeah basically dreadnought equivalents for the elder I think
Do they have an equivalent for Warhounds and titans ?
the smallest eldar titan is thishttps://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Revenant_Titan
The Revenant Titan is the smallest Eldar Titan, used often as forward scouts for larger Titans or to provide fire support for conventional forces.[1]
So the middle one is a Wraithlord ?
It's incredibly similar to this one I found
yeah i think that's a wraith lord
because this is a Wraith knight
Is this chat an appropriate place to ask dumb "What if" questions?
shoot
What if Pelinal Whitestrake was in 40K
Eldar and Dark Eldar will definitely have problems that's for sure
Because I'm pretty sure he will kill anything that looks like an elf
I just find it somewhat fitting considering the whole divine knightly stuff warhammer has and the fact that he's a time traveler
What I'd be most curious about is the reaction of the Emperium. Out of nowhere you have this random slightly above average in terms of height (probably) guy in Ancient Times armor showing divine feats of power while becoming absolutely livid at any mention of gods. Would they tolerate him for power and the sheer competitive level of racism or mark him as a heretic?
Especially if he says anything negative about emperor
Oof, in that case he'd probably just go and hunt any and all Eldar until someone actually manages to put him down.
Unless he gets into another bout of Madness and Khorne becomes interested in him
Eldar are generally isolated in their craftworlds or exodites in fringes of the galaxy.
His best bet is following rumors to a world dark eldar raids frequently
Ye, he'd be unlikely to meet any untainted Eldar. Dark Eldar or Slaanesh spawn would be more probable.
And shut his mouth about gods until he arrives
Or somehow find himself in the retinue of an ordo xenos inquisitor
Judging by the history of his actions he'd be considered incredibly racist and xenophobic even for a 40K inquisitor (which is not a bad thing)
He'd fit right in as long as he doesn't openly call out emperor
Honestly Eldar are a hell of a lot scarier than Mer
Thing is, the only people who could calmly speak about the divine to him were a woman of incredible willpower he respected and the other demi-god. So he'd probably have to meet a Primarch, a Living Saint or have someone explain the Emperor as a whole, as in history, powers, et.c
Normal Eldar not really. Dark Eldar yeah. Ayleid were top tier brutal slaver assholes, but not the perpetual mind numbing torture that is Dark Eldar.
Imperial Knight and Wraithknight
Is a tech priest something you can be born as or is all tech priests just converted humans?
They are upgraded human
it's not a fleshed out topic, pun intended. Cawl was vat-grown and he was in it from the start, there is another case the guy started off as laborer to skitarii to tech priest.. whatever fits your narrative
Thats kind of easy to say from the outside if you aren't actually down there facing them in actual combat.
Fighting normal eldar can be just as scary
Dilaraaa
yes
if not scarier because they just cut the bs and do what their aspects do
oh shit its Wolf from Payday 2
dark eldar can be boastful or do stuff for fun or just show themselves unarmored unarmed because they can
I mean obviously yeah, they're scary to fight as a normal human, you don't stand a chance in a 1 v 1. But conceptually speaking dying to them is significantly less terrifying when compared to being captured by Sadistic Slavers or (quite literally) Souless Torture Addicts.
I mean yeah but you will also scramble around and probably beg them to not kill you, they just wont boast about it since they are under the thrall of a war-mask
they'll just sometimes do you the mercy of not dragging it out
I was mostly speaking on the topic of Pelinal. At his level you wouldn't really care about Warhammer elves being stronger than TES ones due to how overwhelmingly strong he is.
Im pretty sure theres a difference between killing fantasy elves and ones that got literal firearms, tanks, planes, and war-mechs

i swear sometimes people forget that eldar are tall enough to look at these guys at eye height
I'd bet on actually winning the battle rather than being captured or killed, eldar would be much more of a problem
Tbh Pelinal went pretty hard. When he heard of his lover being dead he swung his sword so hard the whole planet slightly drifted off it's orbit which caused the year to be 2 weeks shorter and then went on such a rampage some parts of the world were fucking gone.
they'd strike with purpose rather than raiding and fun
Well yeah
but this is again
still elder scrolls
The stuff Pelinal does is what most Phoenix Lords do 99% of the time in their job description.
yeah, if you're lucky with the stars aligning a random guy can have the brute strength to wrestle a dragon into the floor

Yeah the games are pretty silly when compared to lore. If it was lore-accurate Dragonborn would probably atomize the damn bandits before they could even start threatening him.
damn well i didn't need that sun bow could have incinerated Harkon by speaking sun language and watch him disintegrate
Yeah, we literally have Power Word: Kill as a shout I'm pretty sure.
Make the new Vet branch use Enuncia
Isn't that shit like Chim of Warhammer? So literally reality breaking hax like opening a console or reloading a save but canon?
its literally that + Thu'um
you can speak and rewrite reality but getting or mispelling anything wrong can cause your mouth/teeth to explode
the chaos-boys that were using computers to store/copy this stuff melt from it

Don't you hate it when you accidentally make a pronunciation mistake so half of your head sprouts tentacles

and that's another one
swear to god why did god give me stats at walking into chat the wrong time

Real lore question. Who's more powerful? Saint Celestine, A Legionare of the Damned, or a Custodes?
Celestine was shown to be able to be killed by someone like Kharn
I'd say Celestine/Custodians are on equal power-levels
a Nacho Spice Marine is ehhh
No go back to your cave you goblin
A nacho space marine, I'm dead rofl
Legionaries are scary but I wouldn't say they're as scary as a custodes
Despite being literal ghosts
Idk man... yall read perditions flame?
Kharn is a rampaging moron now to be fair
I’m not a goblin I’m a dog
Dogblin
Arf arf
potato potato it doesn't matter
back to your cave
They’re the bestest and strongestest space marines but also they have a dark secret and and
Man they look like they would be very delicious
Also honestly, this wasnt how they were described in the book.
That looks really childish, and the one in the book was like a burning half zombie
Half its mask was gone showing a skeletal mouth and shit
Pelinal felt akatosh watching him so he looked up and stared back out of spite once
Right, but I mean that to say that they seemed more powerful than that let's on
its basically a case where uh
in the mid 2000's GW wasnt that great at diverse models
so the Legion were literally dark marines with spicy-hot flame schemes
Mhm
Legion of the damned
Lol I'm starting to think the name is cause gw is the one damning them lol
Cause like that's sad.
Apocalypse company are cooler to me tbh.
Свободу политзаключенным: от Саши Скочиленко, Кара-Мурзы, Дмитрия Иванова до Яшина, Ройзмана и Навального.
ELVES DIE
Thank you all who provided their 'Huna is Dead' recordings. This was made for you and I have no idea who are all these other people.
OWEN: https://www.youtube.com/user/Newoaf
And special thanks to https://www.instagram.com/b...
BTW like... that's not what they would look like either. Their armor and literal body was made of flames. To say it had corporeal armor with designs on it is wrong. Idk about apocalypse company, they may be different. But the legion should not look like normal marines lol
“So imagine medieval Terminator getting sent back in time to genocide an entire race and he’s gay”
While kirkbride insists that pelinal is a time traveling cyborg, it isn't canon
The gay part tho is very much canon
What we do know is that he literally fell from the sky when allessia prayed for a warrior
And that he had no heart
Indicating he was shezzarine
I think it's the Emp fucking around again, but that's just me
"A hand made from a killing light"
AllinAll’s interpretation of it is so amusing
Yes
Pelinal is the only like
Obvious shezzarine in lore
Some people say ysmir wulfharth and ysgramor were but it isn't completely substantiated in either case
I hope it becomes canon in TES 6 that The Last Dragonborn was a companion
Make it canon they were a furry
Please god that would be so amazing
The time traveling part of pelinal comes from him shouting "REMAN" in battle
Reman cyrodiil is the name of the first emperor of the reman dynasty
But pelinal somehow knew his name several thousand years before he was born
After he was dismembered he still somehow talked to morihaus for several days
When he was just a head
Imma be real I only know my lore through osmosis from following r/TrueSTL memes
What is Apocalypse company?
When you play skyrim you can read the in-game song of pelinal books
THeres also the knights of the nine dlc for oblivion
Random chaos warband
So trying to follow the entire TES mythos makes my head spin
Ah.
Also because there’s different interpretations and names of the same things depending on the culture
Remember: the vast majority of it is up to interpretation
Kirkbride uses a lot of flowery language to describe history
So deciding what's 100% fact and what is metaphor is up to you
I just usually leave that to other people and then appreciate what’s in front of me (the in-game stuff)
But I also appreciate the background lore and the history it comes from
@dense salmon @warm notch so what's a shezzarine?
Lol I feel dumb, it sounds familiar but yea, I forget what it is
Just nod your head like you understand
Lol nah, I actually wanna understand
An avatar of shezzar/lorkhan/shor
I usually can follow and I just forget this one I think
Lorkhan is the most common name so we'll use that
And they are? I'm sorry. Maybe I don't know this
Lorkhan was the original spirit associated with space, where akatosh/auriel was time
This isn't 40k?
No
Yeah lol
It's always scary when you're told to go to a random reddit
I'm trusting you random internet stranger
💅
Lolol
hold your gun close
whatever you do, do not let go of it dude
I loved skyrim, but overall Eso disappointed the fuck out of me. And then while I like Starfield for some things, if that's the direction Bethesda is going in, I don't have much faith in them making any newer es games "better"
@warm notch decent reddit
Starfield is painfully mediocre
Not a bad game but not mechanically polished either
It’s intensely unsatisfying
yeah the older games are the ones that had a bit of love with them the newer ones
Not so much
I’ll finish it because it’s not that bad of a game
my god fallout 4 is fucking boring
I won’t like it because it’s not that good of a game
perfectly said
it's not the worst game but my god
I actually enjoyed fallout 4 a lot
ohh yeah definitely can be fun but the other issue is really make me don't like it as much as other 3D fallouts
it is so middle of the road that it only ends up highlighting its flaws and downplaying its successes
Nothing will ever be as good as new Vegas unfortunately
Altho I can’t bring myself to play New Vegas cuz I hate having to always use VATS
Yes in that game I can bring someone with me and I can be a cannibal in peace except cass because she doesn't like it
Oh yeah aiming in that game is rather quite awkward at times
I got the Special Edition for free and yet I still feel ripped off. I cannot imagine myself paying for that, couldn't play for longer than 6 hours.
The procedurally generated planets are cool
But the fact that you fast travel so much takes away any excitement
And the outpost system fucking sucks
There’s no cohesion between why you would travel to planets instead of going to the handcrafted content
So fallout has vault assisted targeting system and of course Skyrim has the Thu'um, what's the specialty attack that you do in Starfield
Cosmic attacks or some shit
It does and doesn't... it simply isn't tutorialed at all...
You get to bend spacetime
well that's something
I took hours to try and figure it out
And finally got a decent shipping thing going between a few planets
It's mostly for your last play through I think
Like manipulate gravity, be able to predict what an NPC will say, etc
It’s pretty mundane stuff that we’ve already seen in other Bethesda games
guess that's something
brother i cannot imagine the factions
Well except manipulate gravity
What factions
You mean colonizers, Wild West settlers, cyberpunk place, space pirates, etc
Procedural generation is garbage, world is garbage, optimization is garbage, plot is garbage, visuals are mediocre, ui sucks, loading screens are everywhere. Actually fucking unplayable.
Oh I forgot religious fanatics
of course, are all of them bad enough that they are at the same tier as the railroad?
The railroad is more interesting
I found the same dungeon twice on the very first planet. To move across locations I had to sit through several unskippable scenes and loading screens only for NPCs or dialogue UI to bug out.
For a second I thought #general-chat leaked into here
This and the issue people have with how bare planets are, I think are stupid. Part of this game is realism. Planets aren't like Earth or Avatar's Pandora. They are generally barren rocks at best, or hellish wastes at worst. Part of the game is wanting to explore that specifically and have that authentic nasa-punk "landing on the moon" experience
True, 40K lore chat is now Starfield-Discussion
yeah but out of all the factions i find it the weakest in fallout 4
You're supposed to want to explore those barren rocks, and search things out for no other reason than curiosity
“NASA-punk” 🤢
Brother if it did I would have seen your messages 500 times over
I’m sorry
I was gonna question it then I realized you were talking about Starfield
If you need more reason, go to constellation and grab a mission from their terminal
Barf all you want. I like it.
I agree
The outpost system is burdensome to the point where you’re better off not using it entirely
Which sucks
I'm not defending the game in those aspects. Just saying people shouldnt go into it with unreasonable expectations of what they'd find on planets
@warm notch again, agreed. It's final playthrough content for sure
It's not worth investing to lose everything when you transition
I thought lore fans might appreciate this in-universe Imperium propaganda clip I found.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUISjqGMmoI&list=LL&index=79&ab_channel=Guillaumerde
Hello everyone, I was inspired by the fantastic music of Jesper Kyd - Immortal Imperium. So I made a very small video in honour of it, and of course Warhammer 40k. I had a lot of fun doing it, I hope you enjoy it.
Remember my brothers, that it is better to die for the Emperor, than live for yourself.
This is the list of videos used for this cl...
So the ai rebellion
Was humanity just brutal and mean to the ai
Or did they just become genocidal on their own?
We literally got no idea.
We only know that there was robots that rebelled and robots that defended humanity, it was a gradual rebellion and didn't happen everywhere all at once.
LEGIT
I heard a interesting but unverified theory the machine rebellion may have been due to a realization that if humanity lives chaos will become empowered. Pragmatic machine intelligences saw it as the only way to prevent their own destruction. If both are doomed, why not try to save one.
They just had enough one day
Yeah thats just a wild theory.
we have zero evidence because the entire rebellion remains largely unexplored
mostly since its ripped off straight from Dune

They are not exactly wrong there, it does align with the CABAL
Well the lore also said that the eldar had massive robot army's that would just ruin any rebellion and conquer any planet they threw them at till the big goatse
yeah but thats unrelated
theirs was because they were lazy to do wars any more like humanity
Well they don't use them anymore
It's probably because there tech is also corrupted
Not onboard with the theory, just thought it revelent and interesting
Yeah it is
