Yeah Necron weaponry would be very troublesome
Only thing I can really think of standing an actual chance are chaos daemons
But if the Flood rolls up with actually working plasma weaponry and dark age tech level stuff
No true form after all
They'd definitely inevitably breach it, but till then it'd be the only relative safe pocket
Well daemons would probably find it increasingly difficult to manifest
Though the Flood couldn't infect them, most likely
Flood would just need to get a solitare to figure out the webway
Since the 'Nids can't eat daemons either
But they can evolve anti-daemon stuff
So most likely the Flood is figuring out how to be anti-daemon as well
Whoops, meant can a-la Hive Fleet Kronos
Er, splinter fleet?
If the flood existed in 40k, I bet it would be tied to the warp actually, unlike the nids
If the Flood were in 40k they'd just be the Old Ones but turbo fucked up and utterly insane
And true masters of evolution
Point is 40k galaxy's only hope is to try and snuff out the Flood before it reaches any point of no return
If it does that, they win
If not, Flood wins
Theres psychic powers and phenomenon in halo right
If you count Neural Physics as psychic powers, sure
Because it has far closer to a humane consciousness, as weird as it sounds, than the nids. The nids are theorized to come from a whole other Galaxy they are so alien and different. So idk, maybe they would have potential in the warp
More missions/DLC maybe?
Yeah but what specifically
I think I've heard plaguebearer thrown around?
I don't think it's a tease anymore. I used to think the same, now I just think it's a way for them to carry some sort of narrative in the story
Sounded like a true demon possibly a plaugebearer but if fatshark wanted to get jiggy with it could be a daemon prince
@jade holly I want to say it's moebian 6th leader, or whoever he knelt to in that one cutscene
Hell if we’re being spicy watch it be a PM or a DG
Yeah
Right but we don't know who Moe 6 bowed to in that cutscene
Honestly I interpreted that as two entities: one that actually killed Wyrmwood, and one thats actually talking and is the de facto leader of Admonition.
Does Chaos time travel all that often? I know Ahriman could but even then it's not a surefire way and it still depends on where the Flood starts. Like yeah Tzeentch rightfully seeing it as a massive threat is entirely justified but depending on the world it'd be tremendously difficult to rush it down to kill it right away.
As for a big galactic alliance, might be too late by the time they realize just how bad the Flood is when it's wielding Dark Age of Technology levels of stuff once it reverse engineers the Imperium's tech and figures out how to actually make it work/build more of it.
Wait Be’lakor’s in 40k too?
He went all "the snack that smiles back! Soul Fish". but honestly im not even sure who the big bad is in the transmission
There's a whole ass cabal dedicated to time magics
Daemon Prince is well beyond our paygrade as rejects
This could be it too
I mean we’re killing Beasts of Nurgle and Daemonhosts
I really think it's moe 6
That'd be like a Great Unclean One showing up and expecting this squad of goobers to kill it
People that say this... forget it's a game...
Not necessarily, princes can vary wildly in power
Beasts of Nurgle, Daemonhosts and Plague Ogryns are pre strong but at least kinda believable
If this were entirely lore accurate we’d all be dead after the first Beast of Nurgle due to corruption and all that
And be forced to be executed
This^
And yes I get it's a game but people would prolly find it hard to be taken seriously if we're murking greater daemons
Same reason when they ask how we aren't sick from inhaling all that toxic nurgle gas without proper decontamination equipment. shrugs game logic, man.
Idk if they brought in anything of that level in vermintide?
I mean, people liked Boltgun

It's not really a paygrade issue
More a thematic issue
Yeah if a greater daemon is showing up it should mean that the world is even more screwed than we initially thought
Like..
Let the super powerful stuff come and let's have fun for once without criticizing it to oblivion cause it wasn't lore accurate. At least there's a plague ogryn on the screen that we can fight, and that's dope
I doubt its a guo
Usually they die
It's not really thematic for us personally to just go and deal with it
Maybe the Rejects pave the way to deal with something big
But it'd be a tad silly if they're killing stuff like a chaos knight or smth
Just in my opinion tho
I think the way you explain it is the Grey nights arrive, just in a different portion of the city
If others would be all for it then so be it
We're really being used more for espionage work and stuff behind enemy lines
Then it's lore accurate to be that screwed
So straight up fights with GUOs is a bad idea for us
Yes.
Well duh we’re not going to knock on Morty’s door and make him our bitch as well
But yes being vored by a beast of nurgle should be game over but maybe the rejects are just too stupid and determined to get super mega turbo flu from nurgle
even tho we can totally do that cause he’s a pushover
Watch me
We wouldn't even get close at a ten mile radius without being diagnosed with a mutated version of Polio.
Morty is getting SO many more initials carved on his heart
Like, I agree it'd be silly and lore inaccurate, but like... 40k has very few good games. Maybe once, let the lore fall a bit for the experience
Mf has no heart left with how many carves it’s got

Tbf we should be pox walkers by now from the amount of Nurglite exposure
Especially with this being most people's primer into 40k, like... they aren't going to care if their puny human can actually fight the demon or not
I mean, we're already very high power fantasy levels of power with what we already kill.
Plague Ogryns aren't that big of a step away from Plague Marines from what I hear
I wanna punt one of those mfs
Or at least a Chaos Space Marine
Even though people like to act as though marines are just demigods (which, they're not)
i view it as, we only get powerful "just for the occasion, at this point in time, and at this very moment". Its only powerful for the sake of the narrative.
Primarchs are demigods, space marines are just supersoldiers
People watch Astartes and think they're unkillable.
@verbal path they're kinda supposed to be nigh on....
Watching Space Marines murk a bunch of rabble and thinking that nothing comes close to them
Its like how Spartans never die in universe in Halo.
We even see in the post credit sequence a Marine getting jumped by orks
Or two of them surrounded by Hormagaunts
They're hyped up a lot but the truth is they die hard but do die.
Literally lol
Yeah to be fair to space marines, they tend to take a LOT of enemies with them before they go down
Well I've never seen a Space Marine ride a bomb in Zero G's at a Xeno Space ship to blow it up and get the highest kill count in the first hour of the battle.
Space Marines aren't gonna be cannon fodder but they could be a mini boss like the others.
He was talking about astartes
Give me a DG raid boss
And they very well could do some dumb shit like that lol

Space Marine power also varies from book to book
Sometimes they're fast enough to literally catch bullets/bolt shot
ik
Sometimes they get murked by what should just be stubbers
On tabletop they tend to get mulched
Plot armour is widely distributed in any Warhammer media
Plague marines become the new assassination target for Auric missions.

No difficulty dependent unit pls
Ughhh they used to have an animation of master chief fighting an ultra marine.... I can't find it!!!!!
Bleeeeeh
Fatshark already confirmed no marines why do we keep asking for marines
Plague Marine being a boss of some sort would be pretty cool
Cuz marines cool....
And chaos space marines would be neat to fight
Granted hasn't Fatshark gone back on certain claims in Vermintide?
And introduced things they said wouldn't be added anyways?
I don't even want to fight a marine, I want to fight a dude named David who has mega herpes that he sprays all over you with a gun attached to his butt. This is nurgle baybee
Fatshark's confirmations don't mean much tbh
Nothing fatshark ever says means anything
Depend on the subject
Fs want to do something
Yes that may not happen
Fs doesn't want to do something
That's unlikely to change
Look at vermintide, and what you said is wrong...
A lot they said they wouldn't do they did, and a lot they said they would do, they didnt
What did they say they wouldn't do that they did ?
Honestly I feel the most likely thing on new enemies/story will be that they have missions in Secundus, where you fight genestealers
The most likely expansion enemy wise are 1st and foremost new Dregs. Like Daemons
Not the nids again
They've claimed they're not going to do 'nids but again, who knows
Honestly would be a pretty good story, nurgle cult starts a plague and daemonic incursion, but one hive city manages to push them back and establish a safe haven, so the planet starts evacuating people there, and oops get gene stole
Then it's dependent on what the narrative will swerve toward but I think it's gonna be one of the Cult, so that they leave space for the other cult for different expansion during the course of the game
Just leave this chaos
Imperium
Evacuation
Eh?
The imperium evacuates people all the time
Not like the Morningstar is about to start grabbing anyone but maybe some nobles up off the planet
Its a shame really. The whole thing about genestealers being added as a new enemy has turned into a "tinfoil hat conspiracy theory" scenario. Aliens man! I saw Aliens!
From thoroughly chaos infected planets though?
manpower is a resource, if you can maintain the resource you do
Moving your workers from one city to a safer one is absolutely something a planetary governor will do
the whole point of hive cities is manpower generation
Until it's mentioned I ain't buying them evacuating civilians
Where else are all these poxwalkers coming from
@spare osprey looked online, can't find the old reports. 🤷♂️. That said, Fatshark has come out that they've developed a system we're ai can battle one another potentially, and I believe there was talks of adding it to this game with multiple factions. I can almost guarantee you we get more than a nurgle faction to fight.
the non evacuated
Yup, which is sad. Like there are things that we can talk about GSC teases, but they really burned any goodwill I had about it.
Idk who that faction will be, genestealer, other chaos, who knows...
It's in the Necro Dev Blog
But I bet money it's coming
And I could believe it. Tho I find other chaos cults more likely
Slaanesh cultists 😳
tertium had a population of like 17 billion? so theres plenty of poxwalkers to be made while still evacuating people
Tertium probably already had a few billion people living in the sewers that weren't documented or able to communicate
Because you know, hive city
Tru
and logistics is REALLY bad when trying to keep track of everything in the Imperium.
The thing with GSC is that on most maps they wouldn't really mesh, like at the very least they would have to change the eye Daemon for flair.
I think the one thing I wish Darktide had more of is environmental storytelling. Like it's there, don't get me wrong, but I would love to be able to duck into a small row of tiny apartments with barely any possessions that aren't work related and just look at how the people lived
The atmosphere is so good and is a great excuse to take that kind of angle
@spare osprey especially when you consider vermintide had 3 factions you could fight against. Imagine nugles, Khornes, and slaneshs demons all having a three way (hehe giggity) fight and our 4 walk n all like, "Hey all, I brought snacks!" Lolol
Yeah that's why I expect new maps (Hive Secundus) and new enemies to come out together
Beds under workstations in Metalfab would be great
Sometimes Darktides environmental storytelling is just
"They made tanks here"
- finds a tank *
Storee
Lol but then it's sometimes amazing too...
New sector I think will always be tied to Tertium unless we go back to the Prison ship
For the second Hive I think it will be the setting for the Chaos Waste like system
Eh new maps are easier to do than a lot of the stuff people are asking for, and vermintide 2 has missions in some pretty exotic locations
But Hives are really big and can have quite varied districts
how often do guardsmen use "fraggin" as a swear?
For me I don't doubt we'll see another hive, but the question is if they can make it feel like a different city or if it will just be tertium with some extra lore
Karcking
yea
I guess it'd depend on the homeworld
karkin and fraggin
These are definitely the most common
It's not really possible to make it a normal sector and not make it feel too similar to Tertium
Where putting it for the Chaos Waste would be an easy choice
It'd have to be a whole new like section and everything, with its own aurics and so on. For me at least
Likewise I don't think we will see them make a née sector where only new enemy can go and vice versa
For me it's if you lean into the Gothic, the junkyard, or the explosion
Tertium is mostly pretty gothic
So you could make a second hive feel different but right by just leaning into a different aspect
More scrap heaps, garbage, broken stuff
Or just completely hollowed out
But those could also be explored by having new sectors in the hive
While on the other hand, having the Chaos Waste system in the same hive would be a bit weird, as you have the winds of Chaos and all that
They need to release 1 to console
We could be sent into the wastelands outside the hive
For me the difference between the 2 hives will be in the mode they will be in
they got an asian dude this time? kinda neat
Yes but that should be attached to Tertium and part of the normal mode
@crisp heath idk but whoever does should
I don't think races like that really apply anymore in 40k lol...
Not like Asia exists or has existed for thousands of years lol
Brother Markiplier...
Imperium might be the least racist country humanity ever made
Humanity has spread across the stars, all ethnicites included.
A lot of the current ethnicities we know exist in 40k.
I went to high school with this girl and she became famous lol, just thought the random tweet was funny
It's almost literally 1:1 space mongolia too
Yep
like theres no new ethnicity in 40k
mostly because lazy writing
and prob because if you tried to invent new ones it'd be a bit racist lol
@storm jungle right, but I mean it's not what distinguishes you I guess anymore in the imperium. Your home planet I'd say does that more
Instead of being Asian, you're cadian for instance
And that carries the same weight and connotation I guess
In society
Yeah but that form of racism still exists yeah
like Catachan hate on Cadians all the time to a ridiculous level

sexism also still exists to a degree
Exactly
but IRL racism almost non-existant yep
though thats probably also because it would be awkward to write lol
like that scene in attack on titan where the main cast see a black guy for the first time and someone asks him why is his skin dark
💀
🤣 🤣
THOUGH I WILL SAY
He answers it incredibly smoothly
let me get the scene
#Attackontitan #Season 4 #AttackOnTitan #AttackonTitanFinalSeasonEpisode10 #AttackonTitanSeason4Episode10 #ShingekinoKyojinSeason4Episode10
My guy has absolute rizz

Alright, that was smooth
Love it
but yeah people in the Imperium realistically speaking would definitely have some cultural shock moments like this for a brief moment or two
but its not something to really focus on because not every 40K writer can write a smooth scene like the one above

Be someone on nostramo
Leave your planet for the first time
See someone with dark skin
Imagine their confusion
Better yet, someone whose eyes aren't dark pitd
I find it hard anyone, even melanated fam would get very dark in a hive city without strong genetics...
Eventually without a lot of sun that will fade
AYO
Are the cadian purple eyes genetic? Or would a second generation born far away from the eye of terror have normal eyes
What... that's just evolution... it would happen over time. It would be slight and take a Loooong time, but eventually they would lose color, going from dark to tan to pale within however many generations.
I wonder if Vitamin D deficiency is common in Hive Cities
@spare osprey wormwood dead, would have to be right?
Seems so
Unless the artificial lights help with vitamin D somehow
Wouldn't doubt it
Bet malnutrition is rampant
That’s awful huh
You’d expect the Imperium would at least do the bare minimum for their workers
It's like animals trapped in caves. Over time pigment dies without contact with the sun
Otherwise the war machine would grind to a halt
Alright boys, who wants to go for drinks it Gutbucket
But I guess that’s the point
(sign seen in the video
)
They just don’t care
I was reacting to the trailer whoops
Ahhh
Wyrmwood is also the main gal and she has more agents
Veteran keystones are interesting
Welp my grandparents sent me money to buy models for my bday. Lets gooo
I’m glad they added a tagging keystone
Would’ve been weird if there wasn’t at least one ability in the game that featured tagging as a crucial ability
I’m also afraid if the nodes are still as restricted as current vet tree
@storm jungle right, it's more a designation for those type of agents, right?
New trailer?
Wonder if we’ll find Wyrmwood’s (as in the agent from the vox videos) corpse
Hubba hubba hubba
Or find her taken hostage
Have you ever watched Dark Knight Rising
Same energy on the opening was
"Dr. Pavel, I'm CIA."

i dont think shes a hostage considering by the sound of it her soul got ripped out
Hahaha yesss!!!
This would be dope... I really want these voxs to be incorporated into the game somehow, and not just out here as pike secondary story.
That's great and all, I guess I'm just greedy and want more lol
WELCOME TO THE CARNIVAL
Would be funny
I want missions to be unexpectedly changed
Cuz every mission is just “go there do this”
I want something that’ll actually make us pivot and do something else
i can already see the programmers committing seppuku
What?
Can you link it to me?
Where are these being revealed
Oh i meant for SM2
Where are these from
So Wyrmwood refers to both an organization and this one particular agent?
Wyrmwood is a codename
when they send their reports they all use it, instead of usual callsigns and whatnot
Wyrmwood is the codename for all the agents
Basically, they are intelligence agents that work for Inquisitor Gryndel, sorta like her own private CIA, and they perform similar functions. Espionage, reconnaissance, potentially assassination.
And as her most Profaned Beauty and Malificent Debauchery stated previously, Grendyl seems to have deigned to use one code name for all the agents. Perhaps for simplicities sake. Perhaps as some strategy to make it harder on the enemy to gain counter intelligence should any one get captured. It could lead them to stop looking for a time.
Idk there honestly
Isn't it Grendyl ?
Grendyl yeah
Thanks my brain was hating me lolol
Hard to tell how many agents there are if they're all "Wyrmwood" from the traitor side.
There could be 10, there could be 100, they could be there, they could be here
Moebian 6th members discussing who's a Wyrmwood agent
HAH
When you have even just a tenuous grasp on time manipulation, things get.. weird.
Though to be fair with Time's Arrow, that's a C'Tan with bonafide "I'm a God I can do what I want" power
Yeah
Let's not forget the Necrons also have that thing that can blow up a star with the push of a button. I can't remember the name of it, but I think it was called the Celestial Orrery or something?
Yep thats it
but its only for one dynasty
one thats thankfully very responsible and enjoy not waging war on anyone

though other necron dynasties are waging war on THEM to get the Orrery
And I know Trazyn "I collect moments" the Infinite went there a couple of times as well
@lean crypt oh yeah lol that's a funny story
watch we're gonna see Trazyn as an Easter egg in Darktide one of these days
@lean crypt I would love that, then die
As most Guardsmen do.
If someone kills Lucius and then that dude is immediately killed by another guy is Lucius done for?
Or would it transfer to the next dude
I bet it'd just transfer
I would think it'd transfer since Lucius is eternal
Gross I hate this guy
Unless it was like perfectly simultaneous
Someone blow him up
Then it might split his soul or something
Lucius has one of the strongest plot armors in warhammer
if Slaanesh wills it he will return
lol
so it doesnt even have to be someone else
I wonder if a Condemner Pattern Bolter would do damage to him...
The most plot armour and literally almost never uses it
Well there was that one Hammer and Bolter episode
Everything does damage to him
hes just a chaos marine with a duellist gimmick
Fair point.
Man I hate slanesh so much
Good writing I guess to have such a bad reaction
They are so gross
I think he and Farsight are the worst NGL
Farsight is basically tau Jesus as far as I’m aware
Tau Jesus with a Warp powered sword.
He's Phil Kelly's epic OC
His original OC, plz do not steal
Tau super general swordsman who is immortal and broke off to make his own faction of reasonable peoples
and 1v1'd a bloodthirster and won because why not
and fended off an orc invasion
reasonable not brainwashed people lolol
Totally not
Damn its not like generic imperial characters dont do that constantly

also the ork invasion bit is not that ridiculous, hes literally a commander and did it with an army
they.. dont?
I hate factions of reasonable people
Didn't like a random adeptus sororitas cleave a demon in two once?
That’s not why I got into 40k
Pretty much every faction has that yeah
@storm jungle right lol
if you want them to look badass have them kill a Big Enemy Man
one of em parried a bloodthirsters sword.. they got cut in half by the second swing, but its cool they parried the first
@bold veldt that might be what I'm remembering
And Cain himself went against Khornate Space Marines and won (with outside help since he is stupid lucky)
sometimes lore just "plot armor" and then boom, a random guy kils a bloodthirster because they need to keep 40K alive
Lol but, hey, that makes it cannon
Shit happens, daemons fuck around and fuck up, and die lol just like the rest of us
Sex is canon in Warhammer t

We all trip sometimes lolol
alot is canon
Like the M1911...... For some reason
I think a lot is cannon
.... I'm sorry to say that was just the chloroform Lucius used
Oh I just meant you waking up. Oh yeah, horus fucked up sangy, chaos gods reign, and I'm gonna plunge your bung hole Slurp
🤣
Inquisitors? Yeah we got another Slaaneshi cultist.
It completely slid off my brain that ed posted this at first
Might change my name and pfp to Lucia's for shits and gigs
Next you'll tell me women exist in warhammer
have i got a character for you
names Minka Lesk
Yeah everyone knows the Sisters of Battle and Sisters of Silence are a myth spread by Cadian soldiers to raise morale.
oh and their Repentia are amazing
change "Cadian soldiers" to "40k fans" and you are semi-correct
The best kind of correct next to technically
@lean crypt till your lying there festering from rot missing every limb and a shining angel comes to put a bullet to your brain
I'd say yeah, most might think their myths
I'm allowed to have fun sometimes
It's like when Guilliman made a joke in front of Sicarius.
Sorry, I'm the final arbiter of who gets to have fun and your application hasn't passed by my desk yet
@green loom DAILY ALLOTMENT OF "FUN" EXCEEDED. PLEASE REPORT TO THE MALEFECTORUM FOR SANCTION
"attention citizen, mutliple third party individuals have reported one or more of your actions as innapropriate"
Besides I'm in a good mood for once
Some poor bloke passing jokes gets caught and ends up becoming a clown version of a serviter or some shit lolol
People keep telling me that female Ogryns DO exsist technically, if thats the case, why dont we have female ogryns in darktide?
Cause GW never revealed what they look like before
GW didn't allow it
gotcha
because they got no visual representation in the tabletop
But yes they do exist and we have named character of them
Yeah they bring up the hero
A tally I think we may have 2. Cassia and one that Jurgen woed
i know next to nothing about warhammer lore so I thought I'd ask here. My knowledge comes from my highschool friends bringing in the warhammer shopping catalogue into school and talk about the different races
@storm jungle @tight stratus Pyscher Ogryn exist too. We should get multi classing lol
It's kinda weird they're just absent tho I admit
I didnt know this! That's wild!
That is represented in tabletop if I'm not mistaken
@tight stratus yea, and they're generally insanely powerful if I'm not mistaken
"yes sah, i popped his brain sah!"
Artificially psionically awoken Ogryn, mind you
Not really represented, but Necromunda does have rules for them.
Not models though
The mad scientist chose ogryn because they survive a whopping 20% of the time.
Basically ANYTHING in this game that is gonna be added like cosmetics, weapons, locations, characters, etc etc has to be approved by GW since they are extremely protective of their IP and careful on what they want to present in games because they aren't a game-company more just a miniature/tabletop one, so this is treated as a side-gig for them, its a very annoying and corporate approach but thats just how GW is lol
8 writers from Black Library (GW's book writer division) also worked on the dialogue for the entire character cast.
Ok fair enough@celest dome
over 19%
I wasn't 100 percent sure
You are still correct, psychic ogryn are starting to occur across the galaxy due to the Rift.
Necromunda ones are made through drug-usage.
Draught iirc
That's super interesting, some the outfits look wild to me its nice to know most of the shops cosmetics come from somewhere...something.
I always often wondered about the Power Mauls Ogryns have, they look so out of place from the rest of their arsanel!
That's wild! I wonder if someones ever made models of ogryns with glowey little l.e.d mauls in their hands like people do with the necron models!
Isn't Ghast the Delague Psyker drug ?
I THINK so? Like i said the drugs have super dumb names i cant remember
Correct! Wow it's not even 20% success rate.
I legit didnt even know Bullgryns were a thing till the other day, I ordered some warhammer models thanks to darktide and I ORDERED ogryns. But what came was a box called Bullgryns but you can make both from them apparently.
Yeah bullgryns are the heavy-armor ogryns
Joegryn supremacy
They added the 'tank track' armor to the store... now I just wish I had the aquillae to buy it
Km so glad they gave you a free character in your box o ogryn now
Haha, its my goto game atm. Nothing else really scratches my Itch. I'm bored of TF2 even, and I have 8000+ hours in that.
Thats a mood alright 💀
I feel like we're gonna finally see actual regular content updates now
Me too! Though when I walked into my games workshop in Leicester and told the shopkeeper I've been addicted to Darktide he looked at me dumbfounded and said "Warcraft?" And had to tell him Darktide again and that he should know cause its Warhammer!
I’m sick of playing video games but now I only have energy to play them lately
So explaining that I wanted ogryns was even harder!
Lmao that sucks
That sounds like an experience
I'm thankfully quite extroverted but I know a decade ago little baby introvert me would go "Oh thank you for your time anyway" and leave. XD
Im 30 years old and I literally do that in the GW shop i go to here 💀
"Okay just walk in and buy the books you want and leave"
stares at models im never gonna buy for 20 minutes incase someone might look over at my direction

I need to make a list of things h wnana get and the items I would want isntead lol
I've never seen a GW Store
‘Okay j want thsi character, and if they don’t have it I want Thai instead, and if not that then I’ll buy this book’
Not missing much
"Do not talk to the people, do not talk to the people"
"Get the Skit and scram"
Mood, I spent most of my 20's isolated and still am quite lonely so I think something clicked in my brain that went "Look we gotta start getting more extraverted otherwise we gonna grow cobwebs"
Lots of life improvement happened and still doing my best x)
Mood
I was honestly a bit dumbfounded to see GW was called Warhammer now, definately sells more than Games Workshop but still.
I'm finally getting good at drawing so hopefully I can get me more models and actually buy things instead of waiting 3 years to get a game
Impressive, applaudable
Yeah all the gamesworkshop stores are just called warhammer stores now lol
Sorta weird
I seem to remember a hot minute ago Games Workshops used to also sell model planes and trainsets too, as well as the warhammer. But I didn't see any of that now
at the moment the only non-warhammer stuff they sell is uhh Lord of the Rings
they mostly dropped every other non-IP they didn't own and solely focus on WH now
I feel like there was a fairly large surge of popularity for it in the last decade
Which might be why
Specially among my american friends. Almost every american friend I know loves it, and if they don't know about it they've heard about it and think its cool.
I'm still awaiting the day they'll reveal the 2nd and 11th Primarchs with their Legions.
Here is where id put my rhino, if i could get one!
So from what I remember from when I was in year 6 at the table with my warhammer friends.
Chaos space marines/space marines: POG
Imperial: POG
Tau: You're so lame but atleast you're not ELDAR
Tyranids: yeaaahhh boy
Eldar: Ew
Dark Eldar: Ew x2
Necrons: Yeah I guess its cool, the weird monolith is kinda freaky tho
Is that still true or?
I mean no
You forgot Exodite Eldar.
everyone has their own faction they like
Basic™️ taste tbh
^
dont listen to what people say to you to like
judge and differentiate them yourself
I have a friend who runs Eldar and they look cool
Craftworld eldar that is
I.. forget which one
That's what puzzled me, everyone always riffed on Eldar, but everytime I went to the warhammer club just to look at the models I'd always see those...fish...tank things on the table that Eldar have
I only thing I don't like is them being snobbish as they're literally dying out. Their empire is scattered to the four winds in the galaxy from their own hurbis.
damn
There's good reason for a bunch of factions to dislike the eldar in-universe but the models are cool and they have interesting lore
Also Harlequins are rad
Eldar bad because they're ugly and weird. Everything else is fine about them.
Its like everyone in this universe is arrogant or something
I blame that the Emperor for being a bad dad...
I remember in the catalogue they'd open I'd always comment on how I liked the look of the boat ships the...I think Dark eldar had? That looked rad even if it was silly
Yeah they are suppose to be re-purposed pleasure craft made for raiding

its to envoke that space-pirate vibe
Vect is the coolest mini in existence
The models are, yea. The hair is way too long for me though.
I don't even think the Emperor was a bad father these days, I just think he was a bad leader.
Kill Angron, take the time to do the Crusade right, move on to Webway only after the Imperium is secure
They always felt very Star Wars desert skiff to me
thats probably half the inspiration
He was following the script
He saw them as tools not as his actual sons which Erda did.
"Hey sonny boy that shit is like, SUPER cursed. Swap you for one of mine."
I unironically loved Tusken Raiders and used to play that strange gamemode in battlefront 2 on PS2 just to play as them all the time with their god aweful rifles vs the Jawas
I mean that's the point, he mistreated his tools. I don't give a shit about him not connecting with them emotionally.
Sure that's the ideal but he didn't even use them as tools properly.
GW writers be like
"SHIT WE DIDNT EXPLAIN THIS, WRITE ANOTHER BOOK TO EXPLAIN IT"
You gotta clean your tools, recognise when they're broken
HH in a nutshell
And clean up your shop before you start a new project
If I didn't know better I'd have assumed the Emperor was trying to speedrun the Crusade
A friend got me to start listening to some of the necron audio books. I loved how spanish accented one of them was, thats about my extent of warhammer book reading lol
Necron books are great
the best part?
theres like 4 of them
so you wont be lost reading like 10000 imperial books instead

The way people make Necrons sound is that they're scary mother heckers though.
I know I read the Ultramarines Omnibus as a kid lol
Okay admittedly he might have been trying to get the Crusade over and done with to replace the Navigators and Astartes asap before they became entrenched
But like.. a couple more centuries really wouldn't have made much a difference would it
No idea if it was good
Thats the worst part
If did he try to speedrun. Then he would've built the Webway project first after conquering the Sol System.
I could be a necron scholar
Necrons in guard or even space marine books are terrifying ancient abominations that come out of the ground to kill and will never rest until you are utterly destroyed
Necrons in necron books are mostly elder queers with dementia
Their guns always looked like tennis ball launchers to me.
The Twice-Dead King is my favorite.
All you need to know before you start reading.
Why did they name necron guns as gauss weapons
Me when the server bans AI Art
They are not gauss though
They might as well be named tesla guns or quantum guns.
Wait, is that banned now too...?
It has a tesla looking coil in the weapon.
No commercial AI art generator is ethically trained or provable as such
Protect real artists
... and GW is the most ethical company...?
That's not a good excuse for you to proliferate art theft
I wanna see Szarekh The Silent King vs Imotekh The Storm Lord. One must rule, the other must serve. Or be destroyed.
Don't knock the few bits of morality there are
Has to be proven it's a form of theft first...
Though it's probably a legal reason
Szarekh does not give a shit what Imotekh is doing
I'll be the first to say it depends on the generator
But 90% of the ones making said generators probably list ethics and intellectual property as their greatest enemy
It stole peoples art to generate its results
Even if the server was cool with it, you really shouldn't be
It's not a Discord rule, it's a broad FS rule
They both want to reunite their people, except one wants them to be fleshy being again.
It also doesn't give you back that same art, cant do it without direct human input, and can't reproduce the exact image twice no matter how manybtimes you try... so it's not really stealing their art...
We have many artists that post in the fanart channel and they don't appreciate their art being in the same place as things you just put in a machine and produce it in like 2 minutes.
Don't think it's a discussion for this chat tbh
Also yeah this.
Szarekh sees imotekh reunited the Necrons with conquest and is just like "that's cool. You kill tyranids now."

Why do I care what they appreciate. If a sketch artist doesn't like I paint. Does that matter? Or if I bring clays out and make a mess... or sketch on a digital pad? How much tech is allowed in my art before it's not ok....
Just seems weird to me to be so anal about it.
Dude take the L
When you no longer draw it and a machine generates it. End of story now drop it
Lol ok mini mods
What effort or talent do you bring to the table ?
Learning how to prompt for one
By using Ai art ?
Setting up my own ais for two
It is a team effort between the prompter and the machine...
And who's art you going to train it on
learning how to prompt
Not for this chat
Yeah lets move on please.
Ok thief we dont care
I don't want to time out anyone here.
@lapis wadi literally doesn't matter, because it's not like it will ever make an exact match to their product...
But yea I'll stop
Drew this 2 years ago cause when I took apart my fan it reminded me of necron
Beautiful
Oh my god it's a chaos android from ye olde days
Man of Iron mk 0.00001
What the humans saw on serenade
Do they survive in any capacity in modern 40k?
Like, chaos heretek robots or something?
Even just fluff, no models
As a matter of fact Genefather makes mention of them
Hey, neat
Im pretty sure there are still rouge ai wandering in the wastes of mars
Are there still those Orks cyborg ? Like SM, Squats and Eldar like bots
Yeah Brutal Kunnin talks about tinboyz
from what I know Orcs come from mushrooms and were made to kill Necrons? I think. And everything they imagine just is real so long as they believe it so
Thinking of cyborgs, do eldar have like wraithbone prosthetics?
I still need to finieh that book
I remember the Dark Angels had twelve Men of Iron, but lost five of them against the Dark Mechanicum.
Oversimplified but.. yeah basically
Dark Dark Mechanicum
Is that the SUPER evil Mechanicum
Or just regular Mechanicum (who are also evil)
(Yes I saw you editted but the thought of the Dark Dark Mechanicum amuses me)
They can just regrow their flesh
Spell check hates me a lot.
The three great machinist factions of the warp: dark mechanicum, darker mechanicum, dank mechanicum
Oh. Yeah that.. that makes sense.
Sensible of them. Yup.
Nowhere near as cool as living bone arms with psyker powers
But yeah.. sensible.
Eldar only get prosthetics as a fashion statement or if it looks cool, otherwise as Wolf said their technology is super advanced to regrow limbs.
very relatable imo lol
I WANT CORSAIRS WITH WRAITHBONE PEGLEGS
The Locked Tomb series has a major character who has this if that's your poison
Vashtorr ironically doesn’t like the dark mechanicum much
yeah which is kinda weird
Stealing his customers
its literally his thing
SMH
Lol the Uber culty guys who found Vashtorr and began worshipping him
I'd have thought the Dark Mechanicum would BE his customers, huh
The chaos gods are his customers
He should look into franchising
He runs the forge of souls which spits out daemon engines and daemonic weapons
Dark mechanicum also like making daemon engines
Ergo they’re his competition
They worship the Omniessiah still. Aka the Void Dragon which they don't know it is. Since they know for certain that the Emperor isn't the Omniessiah.
The dark cogboys also do that, they are competitors
As of end and the death part 2
@misty brook wouldn't a better god for them be Vashtorr?
He's a god of machines, right? You'd think a bunch of Dark Mechanicus would go "Oh hey, the REAL Omnissiah!"
And not the dragon, since it's caged. Plus Vashtorr would fit the dark dark theme
We don’t quite know what Vashtorr is the god of
It’s most likely technological like
Progress
Of both the good and bad kind
Vashtor is the machine god
Considering the Necrontyr bio transference fed him a ton
It's hard to say he's NOT a god of machinery in some form
The Void Dragon is trapped under Mars, because of the Emperor and they are hidden catacombs of who know what lurks down there. Hidden treasues of STDS and lost tech from the Dark Age of Technology.
The dark mechanicum doesn’t worship the void dragon
As of end and the death part 2
Std xD you mean stc

ponders what happens if you put Vashtorr artifacts and Jokaero together
They’re worshipping whatever the fuck ||the dark king|| is
Kelbor Hal even calls it the “true omnissiah”
I really hope so
...then again bioweapons are also stored on Mars so
There's probably more than 0
@arctic talon @near wasp
Idk how much we trust lexicanum, but he's the Ruler of the Forge of Souls, and "Having long kept himself shrouded from most races, Vashtorr is a demi-god of inventors, engineers, scientists, and artisans. He is empowered by acts of curiosity (like Slaanesh) and innovation (like Tzeentch) in the Materium, shorn of morality and driven to its darkest extremes. He has only manifested a handful of times in galactic history, and some crypto-scholars maintain he was created amidst the reckless arms race of some ancient galaxy-spanning war. Others propose he was brought about by the horrors of the Dark Age of Technology, where he proved a patron to many of its technological horrors. He is also said to have been empowered by events such as the rise of the Necrons, the Cursed Founding, and the creation of Primaris Space Marines."
It’s pretty accurate
It’s a summary of what was said in the arks of omen book
Except we have confirmation his “birth” was related to the necron bio transference
Then, yea. I'd say there ya go
Look at least it's not the fandom wiki
Okay but that doesn't answer the question why the Dark Mechanicus doesn't flock to him
But it’s better than Fandom
You just reposted his wiki entry
Probably because he kills them lol
He has like almost 0 mortal followers
He prefers the company of daemons
Yeah that'd do it
@lapis wadi I literally went to lexicanum... like I said...
Has the meme channel been reomved? i cant find it
Yes
Yes
Why?
We were oppressed by the state
@keen stratus nazis
Vashtorr realistically speaking shouldn’t even be in the csm book lol
Mostly since he’s
Check gen pins
Not a fan of mortals?

He wants to be a chaos god without worshippers?
Can we all agree, being a Psyker sucks.
sons of bitches, the fuck they mean they mental health?
Yup
He wants worshippers who don’t compete with his product
but like not bad shit
Aka he wants slaves
Yea, I know. Just thought he'd fit for an Uber, doubly dark mechanicum cult to stumble onto and worship lol
Lol
Yes it was
He wants to drag them into the forge of souls to work for him
Do you know how much shit I had to report???
Make servitors?
Instead of working on his own
And I checked it infrequently
No thats the thing
i checked it all days
The forge of souls
Like
Is 100% daemon operated
never saw nothing i consider that bad
As of now
You either ignored it or were doing it then
It’s only daemons running it
Or it got deleted before you saw it
YOO LETS SPLICE DEAMON AND SERVITOR AND SEE WHAT COMES NEXT?
Belakor has beef with Vashtor too, lol.
Belakor has beef with everyone
Daemonhost basically?
bela’kor has beef with every minor chaos god
That is because we were spending unreasonable amounts of time deleting the horrible stuff.
But lobotomised
@lapis wadi with mech parts lol
Oh, good job then
quick question, where am i supposed to post memes now?
@keen stratus you dont here lol
All you memes were confiscated and now belong to STATE
But pics and vids if you're brave
If they're Darktide related and made by you, you could put them in picsvids. Otherwise, use r/grimdank
oh ok
There's got to be a general 40k discord out there too
This is totally fair, but I need you to understand that 99% of the memes you saw on our memes channel came from r/grimdank
It has a memes channel
I'm sure there's multiple
ohright
There’s 2 big warhammer ones
One for like all warhammer
And one for 40K specifically
There’s also an age of sigmar one
Quick question, which hive city if your guy's favorite? For me it's Necromunda.
Varguanta bcs warhammer crime
isnt that a world?
Yes, but people call it that most, instead of The Palatine.
ok
Hive city?
Hmmm....
Probably Acheron... I always liked the name, lol my rpc shares it. And it's good for the empire.
So yea, I'd say it
Unfortunately this is true....
yeah people always say this because like
"Bro most hive-worlds get 5 sentence of lore."

Gothrul always seemed the most intreaging
Other wise the Elysian ones or Harkoni, don't remember which
Why don’t they write whole novels over the trillions amount of worlds owned by the imperium of man? Are they stupid?
Idk that sounds like awful worldbuilding
./s
There’s a planet in the imperium called Birmingham
The most well written planet aside from terra itself

Like almost half the books ive listened to take place on terra
And no im not listening to the heresey
lmaooo
All those books take place during or near the opening of the rift xD
Dudes I think I'm making it
Yeah?
Ew
Never thought I’d see The Grinch 60 FPS 4k interpolated
That’s genuinely
🤢
Whatcha mean he's gorgeous
🤮
Totally a slanesh demon. I mean the waves of straight, just "Ugh, F#€k ME Daddy Dom energy" amiright?
Or amiright
Just the perfect mix of revolting and sensual, off-putting and beckoning
Gotta love it
Lol
Home Alone 2 GO
Dilara I think I'm gonna be able to make actually nice warhammery art within the next few months

By far my favourite cameo has been Bobby Kotick
It was so fkn random seeing him in a movie about baseball
He was playing soulless corporate dude so ig it's at least meta
Check fanart
I did. Big lady 🙏
It better be toxic Yuri Saltzpyre x Sienna
Please, if I ever do Yuri it's gonna be Greyfax and Celestine
PLS
Truly tragic.
Gooooood riddance
If only people didnt break the rules constantly
Anyyyyyyways. About them heretics am i right
Lol "if only people didn't break the rules. Now then, let's talk about the biggest rule breakers ever!"
Seriously though... wish people didn't ruin nice things...
very true to the spirit of 40k
Damn... you right though lol
Sister when we were having a conversation yesterday it was already gone way before that
No no no the memes is still there
The chat timeout is now permanent
Instead of 3 years
I’m blind unfortunately
oh ma fault
so who would Corvus beat in a 1v1 pre HH? Dude's allegedly pretty underrated, but I keep hearing he's a top tier fighter
Corpse starch mentioned
Only Corvus primarch duel I can find is he beat Lorgar... in daemon Primarch form.
So.. yeah he's a scary good 1v1 fighter. Less fancy duelling though so much as fighting like Wolverine except you can't even see him properly
Yeah but the more impressive one is the daemonic-boosted time
Hard to actually rank them, but he's definitely at the top tier
Anyone knows a good place to buy ebooks regarding 40k. I dont tend to read a lot but I wouldnt mind listening to someone while I do other things
Audible is best for audio books for 40K
oh right they are called audiobooks 🙈
confused the 2
any recommendations
somewhat new
I bought the eisenhorn trilogy but havent gone through it yet
as in a physical copy
Uhhhh
Assasinorum Kingmaker
Warhammer Crime in general
Do you want xenos and chaos stuff as well?
Or just imperial
also how does audible function
I can listen to anything I want as long as I pay the subscription
or are there additional costs
just imperium of man should suffice for now
preferably something in order
unification wars, crusade into horus heresy
You pay for the sub and get 3 points you can trade in for any audiobook
You get 3 for every month
Or you can buy the bucks for raw cash or that
They're also cheaper if subbed
And I mean like half price
fair
The Long Night is pretty good
After the first month you can pay 40 or so for 3 credits, which is a good deal if you consider the average audio book is 20 dollars
But you also get your credits for your monthly subscription every month
I hadn't checked audible in some time and came to find 12 credits lol
yeah its a surprisingly good deal/site as far as subscriptions go
thank you for the clarification 😄
ty 😄
I've been listening to various books while I work, but having the audiobook as you read the actual book can sometimes be very nice
I've managed to stick through an audiobook in a few days by drawing
I like them now because typically I listen to music, and I forget to go back and swap songs on YouTube, so I end up just drawing in silence for hours on end
Also the YouTube ad thing doesn't help
I've gone through 4
Alas the days of ad blocking YouTube has been over
Yeah i think the ad blockers are fighting back
yep they are all actively
ublock origin works perfectly
^ Just update it from now and again when you get Youtube blocking your vids
Yup they did an update to combat it lol
I was told here that Necrons aren't ruling the galaxy because most of them are like sleeping beauty and that 1% who are awake are squabbling like game of thrones.
Eldars aren't ruling because that Slaanesh incident.
How big of a threat Orks and Tyranids are to them?
Orks and tyranids both are considered the two biggest physical threats to the universe, with nids being first and orcs a close second
Chaos being a non physical threat
If united orks are going to pull some serious punches
And they are absolutely going to overload the WAAAGH, it is been said that if they truly unite and stop fighting each other nothing will stop them
It has been shown in the beast with how horrifying they can get
But... won't superior tech Eldar give them the edge?
Or, the planet/star deleting tool for Necrons?
Nids 100 percent are the single most dangerous and deadly faction in all of 40k
Not over the nids
Elder are a Stone's throw away from extinction
The beast had attack moons that get bigger by eating a planet
Ork tech is nothing to scoff at if they get smart enough to build more advanced stuff
The Necrons have horrible weapons and tech, but there's really not that many of them and they're somewhat fractured/insane
Nids are basically 40ks less powerful by like .5 a percent Flood lol
They are insanely, obtuse powerful and overwhelming in mass, and as far as we know, there is so much more coming
Smart too, while yes most of the time they ain't no technician these guys are still capable of pulling some quite impressive tactics
The only thing the Flood really has on the is the reality warping power and tech
I'd say they're equally smart
With potentially 40ks being smarted do to it all being one being
Can you rephrase this sentence...? I didn't understand due to lack of knowledge.
I will say the flood is smarter on that regard considering that it literally convinced forerunner ai to turn on its creators
And not multiple separate minds
So you know the flood from halo?
Tyranids are basically that
But slightly less powerful
Yeah the flood makes tyranids look tame
Kinda
and what's "the beast" thing y'all mentioning?
I'd disagree. The flood is literally a god like intelligence. Every single nids is the same mind. Every one. Whereas the flood has multiple separated minds.
That only have their own intellect and experience
An ork the size of 10 meters, and was the largest in the setting, he is incredibly smart and his orks can speak perfect english, basically gothic
