@burnt maple this I highly disagree with
Him keeping secrets.
He was not compulsive in the least, as so far as has been shown. He was meticulous to a fault, and arguably with foresight as powerful as his, every single thing has been planned by him so far
He kept secrets because his sons couldn’t handle it I think
Some of them at least
Among other things
And I also don't necessarily think humanities best interests were always at his forefront of priorities. At best, it was simply the most convincing lie
His foresight allowed him to see end results, not the way.
This I disagree with lol
Yeah I think humanities best chance is with big E
As shown by the literal galaxy spanning empire he created before it fell apart
@burnt maple if they were, many different decisions would likely have been made that potentially didn't favor him but would have been favorable to the rest of humanity
Example? And please don't mention nikaea, that was bs.
For example, how would humanity not simply be trapped as techno barbarians fighting for the rest of time?
Mechanicum most likely
They were beginning to contact their old colonies
But that’s a whole other can of worms
I mean but you mentioned it, so you know it's a fact. But honestly, a lot. He didn't allow for the fostering of outside thought. He didn't allow for innovation. Every decision placed him higher on a pedestal, and we know he changes his appearance and aura with the warp to suit his audience
What. Wait.
Every single thing he ever did made him a God head, even when he preached against it
The admech don’t allow for innovation (Cawl still innovates)
He is seen as a god, because he is a god, much to his displeasure
Cawl is an outlier under immense amounts of scrutiny all the time
Admech doesnt allow innovation because it is FUCKING SCARY TO THEM. History says it all.
Tbh
They just need to find a fully intact STC
Like oh look, I made this cool new robot to help us robot kills everyone
Same reason dwarves don’t like to innovate, they like to make sure it won’t kill everyone when they pull the trigger 🤣
It also doubles as keeping the populace stupid and easily manipulable
Is the population being indoctrinated not for their own good? In a perfect world they’d likely not need to, but this is 40k, not a perfect world
In a galaxy when you can wake up a psyker, see some horror of the warp and explode into a warp portal, is extreme caution bad?
Is it for their own good, or has it been to serve one man who told them it was for their own good, who led a path so far down that now its the only way
Especially with a culture like the tau
Who might not be perfect, but show that there is a better option to the imperium
Culture wise
I’d say it’s ultimately for their own good, the 40k galaxy is one ultimately protected by the Emperor, it’s not about control like with the Tau
The Tau literally mindcontrol their lessers and have a strict caste system where you cannot advance or intermingle for long periods of time lest you waste time not working for the greater good
^
Like I said, not perfect. And isn't there an offshoot that separated because of that?
And the worst part is the castes are basically different races, but they’re all mind controlled and reinforced by the ethereals
To work for the highest caste
The etherals
But the imperium is literally stated as the worst human regime imaginable
By its authors lol
So are most worlds of the Imperium calm and peaceful, like Earth today.
Source for the mind control
That's a hilarious misunderstanding because even the "peaceful" worlds are dystopian hellscapes
Not exactly tbh
Yes exactly
Nope.
@green loom pretty sure it was alluded to in one of... dammit I'm forgetting his name but he was like a really famous captain or something for them
You're not exempt from the tithe, so either you break your back paying it or get butchered until you do
An Agri world where you farm 24/7 isn’t a dystopian hellhole. Many worlds, like those in Ultramar are not dystopian hellholes at all
@green loom that's kinda what I thought myself, that even the peaceful ones weren't like, good planets
So long a world doesn't do some crucial task for the Imperium, it is calm.
There’s a ton of agriworlds that are absolute shit
They render planets barren within a few cycles
Pay your tithe and fuck off.
Yeah but then the tithe is the problem
Yes, but compared to literally being eaten by some huge bug? I’ll farm thanks
And the people are still violently repressed on a good day
Makes it not a hellscape by default.
If managed well, the worldin question can be really cool to live on.
Unless you are farming or smithing.
Then you are fucked.
If they're managing well they're likely a more advanced world, so subject to the funny thing called Imperial nobility
I sure am glad Earth today is a calm and peaceful world
How often does the imperium manage anything even half decent, let alone well
Also the Tau mind control is from a few books, prob easier to just look up ethereal mind control, but it’s basically pheromones and some other theories
Actually the Orks haver their own Malum Caedo.
Theories
You don't even need to bs it for yourself to see what the hell is going on there
Theories on how the ethereals control their lessers so well, yeah
Tau don’t have mind control
Nobody said it is a permanent state, the good life.
It's just fanatacism, you know the thing common af in the Imperium?
Like, it's a real thing. I still think the tau is a better culture than the imperium, but the mind control is a fact
They also have pheromones and the etherals tricks. Way more than just propaganda
The pheromones thing isn’t confirmed in lore
🤓
It’s a theory
They have reeducation camps, why do people close in on the fucking pheromones lol
How it works hasn't been fleshed out by gw, that's why there are theories, but it is a thing
The tau are just an irl facist regime
We know the Nagi or whatever they're called can screw with minds
But beyond that they're pretty tame compared to
A stratified society
You know
Servitors and hypno indoctrination
Tbh
Not outwardly confirmed but it makes sense, the first Tau codex said it itself, the Tau etherals can compel other Tau to do things against their will
I would not want to be in a Tau re-education camp
4e?
They're a mishmash of various authoritarian Asian governments
You can see this when Tau are rioting and the etherals walk in, everyone calms down, folks start crushing each other to get out of the etherals way
I don’t have any old Tau codex’s
With a caste system
I don't think that's Pheromones my guy
You know who has a similar phenomenon
Primarchs
Also, there’s a scene when Aunva tells a water caste to end her life, and she instantly does it
Primarchs have a literal god aura that forces their sons to obey
@green loom it might not be, but it's not simple indoctrination either
And ig marines with Transhuman dread
The emperor could mind control vast swaths of humanity if he wanted to
The water caste didn’t even want to but she listened and ended her life
Tbh if Kim Jong Un told some mid level North Korean officer to kill themselves
They would
Probably has a few times
He used his psychic might to make lorgar and the word bearers kneel before him
Just saying
Just as an example of what serving a God is like
The level of fanaticism the tau display is possible with extreme propaganda and enforcement
Would explain a few moments in lore
Mostly this yeah
the Emperor doesnt need to mind control people
Yeah anyway
he has charisma
"Tau are literally The Imperium" is a dumb take
He has w rizz
Also yeah lmao
The point is firmly above your head atm
Tau will get crushed
No. It simply is not. And again. It's been confirmed multiple times in Novels and codices it exists. It simply hasnt been explained how it works so people made a theory you dont like.
Yeah but they haven't had their funny sorta kinda destined character development into an imperium-esque shitscape
Commissar?? You must be a big deal
I don’t see why you think this level of fanaticism isn’t possible via propaganda
Theres another scene when the etherals walk into two camps of tau that are fighting, they again instantly start negotiating and the book says they were "felt inexplicably compelled to act as the Ethereals wished".
Shoo to the Imperial Guard discord
what leader IRL makes you "inexplicably compelled" to follow their commands? @arctic talon
Literally any IRL dictator
Yeah lmfao
lmfao
@arctic talon because it's stated to not be fanaticism. It's literally stated as an eerie calm that comes over them all
It's drilled into you
Not in this way, no
Like you do not understand how brainwashed humans can get
this isnt brainwashing lmao
I mean propaganda is brainwashing
^
its not propaganda either

its literally the etherals controlling them lmao
This guy
Not really
Its left in the air
the Tau are as fanatical to their leaders as the Imperials are to theirs
But it's literally stated in lore that that's not what is happening, that the ethereal have this power. Idk why people are arguing a known fact in the lore...
This is silly
I think this was the thing that got me more interested. I knew about 40k back then, but the memes surrounding this
The pheremone shit literally comes from a non-canon biology book
which was written by an imperial
its literally all gibberish
You grow up, and every single day in your life it's drilled into you that your masters are the paragons of peace and sensibility
All tau are fallible, but the Ethereals are not
If you grow up accepting this as the literal fundamental truth of your society, you'll find you have a fairly extreme reverence for said group of people
I have multiple times said it's not pheromones
^
it could be phermones, but thats old lore from xenology and not outwardly confirmed as I said
Feel like nobody has read anything I've written. I'm just gonna peace out...
Lore Chat Moment
They're not brainwashed from the point where they have formed ideas
The brainwashing IS the ideas
Do we actually know whether Trump excretes pheremones
I mean
It's sorta like Death Korps or Cadians in a way
cheeto fumes
fack, same
I've got
The phermones implication in Xenology is that the Eldar engineered the Ethereals using pheromone control biology stolen from an insectile species called the Q'orl btw
Yeah thats a wild ass theory
Nuts
Yeah its non-canon
Cheetos are overrated I think
yes its old as I said
its a great fucking book tho
regardless still relevant, esp to tau and a lot of the xenos it touches
I’ve got
Eh no
That doesn't mean newer books haven't still informed the idea they have the power, again how it works has simply not been explained.
But the power exists
Also the newer book is cooler
That ill disagree with
Catachan Devil eating a tank, yum
Another power that hasn't been explained that definitely exist, perpetuals. This shit exists in universe guys
Liber Xenologis?
ye
yep
yeah but consider this
Xenologis is much better as an actual like book
We know "perpetual" as a term is about as consistent as Marine armour marks
literally just Abnett's self-insert of Eternals, because he wrote for Marvel
That die, alot
nuke them, die, come back
@green loom still exists
Some live forever
you need to kill them with special anti perpetual weapons to make it permanent
Some just don't
the most 40k sentence ever
legit playground rules
Perpetuals just a funny concept cuz in a situation like the Empire of Man, you can have the same person lead it indefinitely
Unless they just die randomly because Abnett thought it'd be funny
But they still exist
Abnett Moment
Allll this shit talk, and they still exist
So do the ethereals, so does their power
i look away for 10 minutes and lore chat is heatingu p
Yeah I'm readying the Pyre already
i always found the tau to be kind of boring personally
Phil kelly misses a lot of the potential to write his le epic OC Farsight
the tau have a caste system
there is no real world caste system like it, but india has one to this day
I mean yeah
india yeah, pretty close
cant advance

cant mingle
It's a good thing Imperial citizens are free to do whatever they like
thought thankfully most young folks dont do that anymore
I mean it's a thing that they also don't want to mingle
Tau are pretty like
Apathetic kinda
let's ask a tau
obviously
No they just don't have family units typically
^
Like Farsight iirc has feelings for Shadowsun and it's an oddity
I mean Shadowsun is big waifu so
FARSIGHT THAT WAS THAT MOFOS NAME!!!
No they don't have families
not just family
Thought it resets daily
For the premium shop it's next thursday
friends cant mingle too much, cant have too much fun with another caste, gotta focus on the greater good
hallowette's my bad
Oh
no its Halloween
me in university
College has been boring
Doesn't farsight literally separate and start another faction of tau specifically because of the ethereals power in one of his books
doesnt like the mind control yes big rebel
Iideals!!?!?!?! They control your mind lol. It's not ideal clashing, is ideal inception lol
oh my god
Dude was like nope km out
Im gonna imply this gun to my foot
They literally do though 🤣 I don't get how you can deny it
I suppose the narrator saying that tau are compelled to act around etherals against their will is just propaganda!

because its 40k
and its inconsistenet as shit
maybe thats how

also like
It's in farsights books!!! And I know that's not outdated
Im gonna unsubscribe you from life

i would weigh in if i read a single tau book in my life
Ehh, I agree honestly
how do you explain the funny little mind control node they found in the etheral autopsy?
🤣
Wait I can't find anything on Farsight doing it because of the mind control
From an outdated/non-canon book with a crazy magos as the chief surgeon

like
every autopsy
is literally him theorizing
thats the point
doesnt matter if hes crazy, he has a literal body

naked tau...
Im gonna make you explode
dad bod ultramarine with a cigar
@green loom read the books
BALDING dad bod ultramarine with a cigar
‘Tau Tau’
Its so funny how the dude with a cigar looks like Tony
tony soprano
🤣
DUDE
EMPIRE OF LIES
H
HAS A SECTION
ON HOW THE WATER CASTE CONDUCT HERO WORSHIP TO INSPIRE OBEDIENCE
"whateva happened to... marius gage. now that was an ultramarine. the strong, silent type."
In other words
Adolf Moment
LITERALLY PROPAGANDA
at this point
seeing the word "mind control"
makes me want to go berserk
maybe its working
Your thoughts betray you
Do you think macabbian fans know where "Jannisary" comes from
no they dont

"They're cleaners right, Janitors?"
I feel like I saw that word in Chivalry
guard fans are mostly like european/western dudes who see a historical reference
and wojak point

"OMG ITS FRANCE IN SPACE"
Heresy

What's the Tunisian ripoff called
Jannisary like those guys with the fancy hats
nah cmon, i'm a mixed guy who loves the guard
warhammer is for everybody
Yeah because you are actually cultured and know history

Guard's the best, fuck the rest
i'm humbled to receive a genuine compliment
You know some guard fans really remind me of those old action toys with built in action voicelines
Go heehaw someplace else
oh god
About to get my irl aquila forehead tattoo wish me luck guys
NOOOO
Dilara can you edit something
One sec
Krieg memers next
I've got a comic page idea, could you add sounds to it
Grab your shovels!!!
Sure, what is it
I'll get back to you on that tomorro
(Bayonet is the superior melee weapon)
👍
Look, I disagree heavily with the pheromone theory myself. They're to few and rare for that to be controlling the entire empire. But they are doing something. Yes, every society uses propaganda, in 40k and irl. But some of the things shown from the ethereals are actions a person simply would not take if they were rationale and in control of their own actions compared to being influenced or controlled by another. As was stated earlier, there is a procession scene where they walk through a riot and an eerie calm surrounds the entire crowd at once, as soon as they arrive. And as they walk through, people literally trample over one another, while still remaining in this weird calm state, just to clear a path for them
"Watcha got there"
"A guard fan"
winds up
"The Emperor Protects! Heresy! Heresy!"
yeah im the "WWII history geek" one in this scenario.
winds up
"Fix bayonets! Fix bayonets!"
Wind up inquisitor
"Innocence proves nothing"
So many heretic's here
heresy BLAM
No that's Wind Up Commissar

Felt bad for them Krieg boys in Pariah Nexus
i'm telling you

if they ever come up with a guard regiment that wears a morion helmet
i will start a new army that very day
All those imperial characters are gona die anyways in the pariah nexus
They never will
Lol
I want regiment of san marco marines

You know I find it funny how power creep in the 40K universe is when compared to toher universes.,
I forgot did the Pariah Nexus slowly kill people, never read those suppliments
I mean the Darktide Rejects four recently paroled meth heads are doing a much better job than team RWBY, four ladies trained at a young age in a state of the art combat school and who have ACTUAL SUPER POWERS.
Sucks your soul out
Is RWBY still going? I never watched it myself but my neighbor when I was younger did
Holy shit is it
He had a few years on me
Bruh
its in a tough spot with WB currently
Oum? That's old news
but no one could hold a candle to his level of fighting animations
Is that show that popular?
sounds kinda familiar
Lol

I never really understood or got into it
same
we are still kinda niche
they finally got Yam and Bland together after 8 volumes and incessant shipping from the community
I mean being niche doesnt stop your fandom from being awful
40k’s masses enjoy their slop
i say this as a 11 year long warhammer fan
💀
Loved when back in the day 40k fans went "Ew girl."
Now its 2023, and they still go "Ew girl." ❤️
Yes and the only thing people remeber from that is the homophobic meme that spanwed form it.
Truly the most blessed timeline

i can say i'm a generational warhammer fan
To gatekeep or not to gatekeep...
my dad was stationed in the UK and got into it in the 90s
Thats all they exist for at this point, and nothing else
then i was born and he passed the hobby on to me
The fact that you even have to ask this is
💀
I watched RvB back then rather than RWBY
good decision
I too am a generation fan ...I perfer the last Generation ...I miss the Beakies.
to think my dad was around to see the ultramarine dance shit
LOL YOOO THE BEAKIES WERE DOPE LOL SAME
becoming mainstream has it downsides
is hilarious
It really doesnt
you say this like 40k is a "pure" fandom
Lol fr
its genuinely as bad as Star Wars
GW is content with what they do currently anyways
or like any other popular IP
it isnt
star wars is much worse
They don’t care to expand
I'd honestly say it might be worse
disney isn't as protective of the IP as GWis
when did it start for you?
Just cause it's older I think
Beakies helmet design is better imo, although the new ones definitely look cool in their own ways
It's had more time to fester
too many television shows, and the writing of the comics got very poor
GW is very aggressive with enforcement of making sure their stuff is accurate
It’s kind of hilarious lol
It can be absolute dogshit
it's not like that made things better for sw under their reign
But it better be lore complaint lol
- Whiny sexist/racist/fascist fans
- People that hate everything the company produces
- Fanbase that always wants to stick to the older stuff without anything new in the setting
- Fanbase that always wants new stuff but the moment it gets made then whine and then want to go back to old stuff
Star Wars and Warhammer are like brothers

Lol I mean when you put it like that....
wait I forgot the best one
- Fans that still hate the company but buy everything they produce
There’s some stuff that’s good
hammer and bolter has some genuinely cool episodes
Honestly 🤣
The dark times started for me for the Sequel Trilogy, which would be no surprise to anyone.
but like when 40k stans think they are superior to other sci-fi IPs its lol
that could apply to many other fandoms but yeah
i love 40k and every hobbyist i've met irl was very welcoming and taught me a lot
I mean yeah its still the truth
lol
40k fans are genuinely nice in person
This was my introdcution into the 40K universe.
You haven't seen our ban logs 💀
the internet does things to people that makes them forget how nice people can actually be
TTS series for me
They got bans from the LGS’s
which was...2020?
cant deny that i love those crossovers where w40k curbstomps everything to ground
Except that when they dont lol
That moment when people forget a normal wimply Star Trek crewman has a phaser that can insta kill a space marine
Or how Daleks from Doctor who literal trash-cans can wipe out the entirety of the Imperium
💀
Here's my thing with star wars. Any one movie can be criticized, but played through chronologically is one of the greatest cinematic experiences of all time. Going through the rise and fall, it's like an old greek tale unfolding before your eyes. I think people get way to wound up in the hate to enjoy stuff sometimes
Star Wars entirely suffers from being eaten up by Disney yeah
Im just glad we got shit like Andor
absolute peak sci-fi
i didn't really enjoy mandalorian
yeah i've seen andor
Unless that crewman is wearing red then he would die to a strong breeze.
Him and the guardsman hes fighting will just drop dead without any explanation
in the entire show
it was one of the few exceptions post movies. I love more focus on the world of Star Wars and not just robed warriors
But Star Trek crew always set phasers to stun
I LOVE how every show about a major character was bad.
But then you get a show about Cassian fucking Andor and it turns out to be peak Star Wars that everyone loved.
"I can't swim."
i used to call myself a star wars fan, but with all the new content i don't really enjoy i can't say that i am
i'm more a fan of the original and prequel trilogies
The very loud bad ones never go out in person is why
i like a lot of the original EU stuff too
See... I just wish we got George Lucas's plans for the universe instead of Disney. I dirt necessarily mind either, but I like how he wanted to expand more on the midicjlorians and the actual way everything worked in star wars, the actual world building
I'd know, I'm one and I never go out
I only liked because of the culture. and the minor references to their Language and alphabet, Mando'a. Been a fan since their big involvement in Old Republic
Lucas deffo got tired of the fanbase
and just went "fuck it i dont care"

THey could make SW Ahsoka 1000% better by just adding this guy.
Also Ngl
I agree honestly @storm jungle
The EU Is
Starkiller my beloved
Hit or miss
the VA voiced the mordred guy in ahsoka
yeah
He was pretty much the only winner, now he sits and enjoys retirement while checks land in his palm lol
iirc
he brought that Star Destroyer DOWN. as in DOWN in that game
Not a big fan of Disney Star Wars, but there are definitely some diamonds in the rough from em
100%
I love Disney ship designs ngl
disney star wars lacks soul
actually wait does lucas still make money from star wars
is my biggest criticism
i gotta check brb
it's like
Save for the huge ships
I'm not 100 percent sure honestly
but they can't capture the soul of it
But I really like stuff like the Raddus and the random tiny corvettes
Here it is
But I'd think he'd keep some royalties
Yeah there it is
I'm a certified tiny ship enjoyer
i'm pretty sure he does get royalties from anything involving clone wars
After taking the Republic Base, the Imperium of Man quickly moves their forces in to occupy it. Their sudden attack doesn't come unnoticed, as the Republic quickly sends a force to retake the base from these unknown forces. While Imperial and Republic fighters engage each other in battle for air superiority, a Jedi and his padawan are sent to le...
so bad batch was probably a payout for him
Yeee its weird
Yeah I was gonna say, Lucas was paid to f off from the IP originally
But I mean, with that amount of money he made
Good for him i guess
Huh, but that specifies newer movies. I bet he still makes royals off his he made
Most of my childhood was experienced through the Clone Wars series. But I was happy Filoni finished his work with S7. I remember watching the cut rough animations and thought "If only he could finish it" when I was a kid
Same
Clone Wars is literally like
40k with a Star Wars paintjob
its violent as FUCK

Umbara Arc was heavy
The golden rule, as long as you don't show blood you can show anything 💀
you know what i always wondered
Yeah I wish it was a little more graphic in terms of when people got wounded
Just wish Filoni wasn't a hack
do catachans have an american accent?
gets vaporized
I believe it was closer to Scottish/British
Dude I can't explain it
Gets shot by a droid and has a gaping hole in his chest
there was an episode of clone wars where they set geonosians on fire
But hearing americans in warhammer stuff weirds me out
Lol same
Feels out of place
I love how they called the Second assault on Geonosis D-day for CW. and the Umbara War as Vietnam
They all feel like this guy
By request, I uploaded this clip of Captain Thomas Leroy, an American exile, politely defending Sharpe and offers his thoughts on one common source of the real power between Democracy and Monarchy. No need to subscribe or like, I'm just here to give you guys what you want but what I would really like is some real discussion in the comments.
"Good thing those bugs cant aim."
FUCKING EXPLODES
Actually it was a lot more brutal I mean in clone wars they heavily nerfed this guy.
I was really digging the 212th recon's ARF trooper design, love the desert pattern look
clone wars cartoon grievous had that dog in him
Grievous had NO chill
it's perfectly in-line with the lore, making a jedi feel fear heavily disconnects them from the force
no force = no precognition
But I was more of a 327th Star Corps fan so it was sad I only got to see a little of Commander Bly and Secura
he combines this with being able to strike like
4 dozen times in one SECOND
if he uses all 4 arms
You draw this?
He got nerfed bad
Animate
to completely mentally overwhelm jedi
Bah
Very epic
Then there is this guy.
Oh Tartakovsky's Clone Wars was great
YEAH
ARC troopers are nuts
True
personally trained by jango fett
🤣 just giving hate for no reason
I would love to see Tarakvosky take 40k.
Man I miss that show
that will be $10 a month
Was more of a fan of the Cuy Val Dar who trained the Clone Commandos
This slogan never caught on.......Why not?????
Anyone picking up that game?
if i could watch the latest hammer and bolter episodes without paying i would
What game
i should give it a try
It has a lot of good reviews
They got the og VA for robocop right?
Its jank but fun apparently
I am also this is basicvlaly Mecanicus vs Dark Mecanicus.
I was lucky enough that a brave soul risked his channel to post the Entire Angels of Death animation on youtube.
Yup.
"Dead or alive, you're coming with me." "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?"
This is the whole comic.
Damn
cyberpunk 2077 had good writing but i do have one complaint
they made adam smasher way too erudite and verbose
in tabtletop he is a meathead psycho
Only thing stopping me from picking up other games right now is selvedge denim
I think they made him too easy in the game.
I never played CP tt, but for what the game was worth I enjoyed it
Only buddies I had that played tt games did DnD
Saving money to get Space Marine 2
I wish I could play Space marines 1 but I cant get it on the x box store.
And we played some weird DnD cuz we used one of their dad's 1E and ADnD books and 5E
CP TT. is that also Cyberpunk Red?
Isn't there no solid release date for it yet?
Yes
I think there might be another
Way worse
Yeah okay so there was another
There’s Shadowrun
it just says 2023. but from the shit lay off issue with Bungie and the MWIII DLC being hot trash for $70, Space Marine 2 will be the only game I'm probably gonna get
If you want cyberpunk with fantasy races
And fantasy stuff
But it’s notoriously crunch heavy
Gotcha
As in you spend all session rolling for explosion results
Gaming is not that fun for me anymore
And use a spreadsheet lol
Yet I still spend money on new games 😢
I do like this game though.
Man, I wish I had people to play with for "Red". I've never played it, but I'd like to. Just don't have any friends who are well into Cyberpunk outside of 2077
Just ping the Twink psyker guy in the fan art channel, he'll probably happily explain shadowrun
😵💫
Twink Psyker?
That his username
No
Yeah I feel you. I also did a short stint of SW5E with another group of friends and that was fun
If you got buddies who are into SW
Pathfinder 2e
All resources are online and free last time I played (4 years ago)
My beloved
I'm the least nerdy person here

Curious
Then there is captain Laserhawk AKA the series that was created when someone played a bunch of ubisoft games on Acid.
Except I also lift
i'm cyber
Comp sci
SAME
I hate myself
Dude I used to geek out to SW lore but I've really pulled back from all that for the past 2 years
Interact with it so little I forgot so much
Congrats
I'm a linguistics shut in
Dope, where from?
I'm a......Business Major
i love linguistics. if i didn't study cyber, i would have studied linguistics and english
Ah dope my friend's sister goes there I think
I've played two sessions of ttrps
Almost no wargames
I've read a grand totalle of 3 hamwarmer books
gonna play darktide while watching one of the animated barbie movies with my girlfriend
i'm in for a massive mindfuck
How long was the Cyber degree?
3 years. could have done it faster if i didn't switch majors
I watched fkn
Gotcha
Funky substance you say...
and La Haine
Top movie?
Weirdly I had sleep paralysis when this happened
I liked La Haine a lot
That's your #1?
Eyes wide shut confused me, clockwork orange was nice
for a movie that will make you feel like you're on drugs without taking them, try La Planete Sauvage
The Ball room scene felt like it lasted an hour
Maybe I'll give those movies a try
I tried clockwork orange, I turned it off after 30 mins
kubrick films are all slow burns
Ended up listening to an analysis of it instead the other day

Is this server a mostly EU or US based one?
fatshark is swedish if that helps
Big enough that I can't discern
Hahah
But early EU is typically quiet
Man I don't really know what my top film is
So like 4-5 hours from now
I'm a sucker for those old comedy films
I like the more serious ones too though
Life of Brian is top 5 for me
i read more than i watch films nowadays
i do enjoy film a lot though
i recently picked up "No Longer Human"
finished blood meridian a few weeks ago
i enjoy a lot of renaissance philosophers
my favorite is mirandola
orations on the dignity of man
i was introduced to it by one of my college professors
and it stuck with me
Not all to knowledgeable on those guys, so I cannot relate
I actually enjoy Grimdark shit I mean look at my PFP
I thought that was Batman Beyond for a second
Was anyone questioning that?
Nope I just like Spiderman and HATE PAUL!
Ah, Paul from the Beatles!
I thought it was an alright movie
The Walrus Rises
Do the sisters of battle have a traitor legion
Nop
Makes sense
Who else are 100% non traitor?
They aren't 100% non traitor tbf
The grey knights are generally incorruptible i think
Also presumably the sisters of silence
Speaking of the sisters why isnt there a like... black ships level program trying to find nulls
They aren't incorruptible I believe. The sisters anyway. They just deal with their traitors.
They're pretty darn useful
I feel like the grey knights being nulls instead of psykers would have been better tbh
They more or less do have one
It's just that most blanks fkn die
@winged jacinth I think they had to be psychers instead of nulls for them to do what they do. Prolonged exposure to the warp burns out blanks
They end up becoming normal
Grey knights are already immune to chaos taint GW can do whatever rule bending for the mary sue chapter
With the sheer amount of anti-chaos stuff they do and have and the Ordo Hereticus Inquisitors with them at every step
There just isn't really a gap in their armor to exploit
Give another Chapter that level of support and I doubt you'd get any corrupted members
Also their numbers aren't that high, so it's all concentrated on a few astartes
Whereas there are so many minor Orders of Sisters
i think one cool feature darktide could have had is a "clean weapon" button like killing floor 2
Ogryn spits on it and rubs the melee weapon with his sleeve
New ogryn throwable a sponge
Except there's a chance for them to go "(cough) oh.. damn I inhaled that vapor"
Veteran wipes it down with a cloth
Zealot just kinda smears it around with their hand
BLOOD FOR THE EMPEROR
I just learned an hour ago there's an inspect key
Trying to wipe down a power weapon just has them shock themselves
Also huh Psyker's the only one without a power weapon. But they have force weapons so it evens out.
"Woops there goes a finger"
Ogryn doesn't have access to chain though and that's sad
Lol ireally think they should get a full size Boltor and chainfist
Lol I mean, I really just see them adding that to the guns in game... I forget what their called but the ogryn pistol things
They'll just add a chain to the bayonet on them
Ripper guns?
They're kinda a 2-hand shotgun but like the closest thing ogryn get to a pistol in the standard wargear lists I think
Ogryn really don't get much options in-canon tbh
Probably a big reason their in-game list is so lacking
Yea the ripper guns
They have the bayonet fronts
Easily could be outfitted with chain weaponry imo
You get ripper guns.
Sticks to hit things with.
And that's about it.
Well I prefer the Blastoom gauntlet
ogryn weapons are generally designed to be durable and dangerous in melee because ogryn will tend to just smack enemies with whatever they're holding if they run out of ammo
Grenade punches are dope
Like.. there's a sort of autocannon they can use we're missing
But I think that's it
Anything else will be a Darktide original
But like, is there a reason they cant use Space marine weapons? Like I know they aren't quiet as strong but they can't be far behind right? Just in pure strength terms
Idk honestly
Like a lore reason I guess
Would you give a state of the art gyrojet firing highly expensive hand-crafted weapon
To a toddler
Would it change things if the toddler could lift and fire it
Nothing physically stopping them
Because a blastor breaks a normal humans shoulder in a single shot
The ogryn would break it more likely, and canon ogryn do not understand voluntary burst fire and have to have their weapons hard-limited
It really, really, really is as simple as Ogryn are too goddamn stupid, and would break/lose the expensive piece of equipment
So nobody gives them bolters
or misfire it
Ahh, so it's more the guns aren't built with ogryn brute in mind, they're more delicate for the SMs
ogryn guns doubling as melee weapons is nearly a necessity
because they will asbolutely smash it across someone's face
There is literally a keyword "ogryn-proof" in the tabletop wargear lists for the few items Ogryn can use without auto-breaking it
Lol that's actually awesome. I'm not the most versed in tabletop so I actually love that lol
Similar reason why nobody gives them power armor
Although that's more a training issue I think
ogryn are pretty tough nuts without it anyhow
I gotcha. I was just curious cause I was like, they definitely have to be strong enough at least right? Lolol
i would grab my codex and tell you their hitpoints if i could be bothered
but they're tough cookies
Yeah, they're cheap, that's also kinda the point. Why bother giving them the superguns when you can get 5 with still-pretty-good guns for the same price
..in-universe price I have no idea what their wargaming pointbuy is
Lol, ngl though, with all this said, I still want my space marine weapons to be given to ogryn in game. Would be dope, if not lore inaccurate
an ogryn bonehead might be trusted with some more fancy wargear
boneheads are augmented to be somewhat intelligent
Oh, we are missing one more wepaon according to the armory
2-handed melee.
You can give them a really big hammer
as slow-witted as the ogryn in darktide might seem
they genuinely have to be boneheads with the shit they say
Darktide Ogryn are actually pretty damn smart
your average ogryn can't even tell you what he did that day in the order he did them
Like, kinda geniuses
They some smart big boys
they are too stupid to understand linear time
Counting to 4 was a real achievement
Even the one who's brain is melting lol
