Late but also to add my two cents, theres a few examples of loyalist marines that just go renegade from their Chapter due to not agreeing with the Imperium and other conflicts.
They usually operate entirely alone or in small groups since getting supplies for Astartes in general is a massive issue.
Theres no rule saying most renegades will instantly fall to chaos but its mostly just a case of lazy writing.
