Basically Abnett has been with 40k since forever and has a lot of books written over the years, this has kind of given him an authority in Black Library where he can more or less write in however fashion he wants (which sometimes involves breaking basic lore rules) to write his books in super convoluted ways along with plotlines.
Like for example the final Siege of Terra book was just going to be 2 parts but got spread out into 3 parts instead (each about 600 pages in total) and all because he wrote so much material that it had to be split.
Since his editors cant boss him around or tell him to cut any material.
