And I hope that it doesn’t make the development pipeline too difficult
(It probably does)
Some of the most talented people in the be industry
Or do I sound absolutely deranged right now
There’s specific dialogues for stacks of the same class it’s insane
I just had a 3 Psyker conversation lol
Also between dif genders
It was mundane but it was cool
Of the same personality
Fatshark has always loved dialogue
Hence the vermintalk and darktalk channels existing
But FATSHARK ARE COWARDS/s
Yeah this, its basically the issue of like
You are adding a new archetype/class? Hire 2 more voice actors ontop of the pre-existing 36 ones.
im not sure if they'll even go that route
but it still creates just way too many issues
And they need to go back and voice for the previous missions
On top of that missions have multiple announcers
Oh wait
I think some conversations are static
Yeah a ton of work goes into the dialogue
They don’t need to add more announcers tbf
Yeah I have one announcer but then I have a conversation with another announcer
I’m fine with the cast we have now
Yes
For Mission Control
Some are just like call and response
Yeah
Those are preset technically
I want more Lady Alice
She’s only in ascender with melk right
Her dynamic with Melk is funny
Yes
Either Melk as announcer or Alice as announcer
It’s also hilarious
How Alice gets along well with all the inqusitorial retinue members
Except for Morrow lol
Morrow seems to be more annoyed with her than antagonistic
its because Morrow is the strict drill sergeant/logistican type
Yeah
and yeah what Wolf said
Alice basically has no respect for the chain of command
i just had a dialogue RIGHT now
where uh
she apparently
stole ammo crates from teh auric operative barracks

And she can do what she wants cuz she’s part of Brahms’s crew
Yeah shes the purser of the rogue trader
so SEMI untouchable
shes responsible for all the contraband, even Zola and Morrow ask for supplies from her
It’s such a funny way of displaying how contradictory the Imperium is
She also offers Zola first pick
There was a Reddit post that said that Darktide embodied the best of the Warhammer universe by displaying it like a black comedy set in a workplace lol
Of her new shipment of gear lol
Yeah and it’s great lol
A black workplace comedy is the best way to describe it
Right?
I love Masozi’s line where she’s like “If I told you then I’d have to kill you, and then someone would have to kill me. I wouldn’t like that”
What’s the context?
Prolly perils of the warp for a psyker
Zealot asking Loose Cannon Guardsman why hes constantly making gallows humor/dark jokes instead of being horrified
Ah
Oh lol
Ahhh
That also makes sense lol
i dont blame you, lack of context
I also love the fact that the Militarum prescribe code names to every enemy
Like imagine prescribing a name to every unknowable horror in the galaxy 💀
Tbf
Apparently it’s to help psychologically?
Hounds are on that sigma grindset
I think the hounds on that modifier are weaker than the standard hound
Hence “minoris”
Sigma Minoris refers to all hounds
Ohhh
but also yeah the modifier hounds are different

they got a pink skin tone
might have been uh a litter of dogs that got infected
💀
It’s very bleak how killing the infected citizens is seen as a mercy
I’d assume the numbering is based on how likely you are to die to it on a battlefield
Like they can’t control their bodies anymore from Nurgle’s control
Which is why a sniper is like
Traxis-1
You are very likely to die to getting shot by some guy sitting a mile away
Someone should make a list of all the callouts
I don’t remember them off the top of my head
There’s one on Reddit
yeah the Groaners are the ones that haven't been fully turned yet
Poxwalkers are just heard laughing/sobbing in hordes when they attack you
Traxis 3 is a gunner
And traxis 4 is the shotgunner I think
Traxis-77 is the trapper
The flamer being traxis-66 is weird
Then again
I suppose the imperium doesn’t fight people with flamers super often
Actually wait orks have flamers
This makes me sad about how much flavor text is missing from the game
What the fuck am I saying lol
When you inspected a weapon at launch it gave you flavor text about it
Yeah I miss that
Maybe in the future
Lorebook would be fun to
Having all the stuff from the blog posts in game
yeah i got no idea why they discontinued that after Vermintide 1
Like about the Moebian sixth and such
where you could actualy collect lore notes in a level
Too much work ig?
Idk
There’s flavor text on all the premium cosmetics
Red moon inn was a lot better the Taal horns keep imo
The free ones also have some
But some are redacted for some reason
Didn’t have time to put a good description probs
“Redacted” is still a nice funny touch
Most of them have a description
The zealots dark blue high tier one mentions how corpse candles smell awful
But they’re incredibly common
Oh wait are those the candles that sit on the armor?
The implication is the blue version of that set uses corpse candles
Lol
Also yeah this
Animal fat is cheaper then human fat
Gaunt is really picking up rn
Good ol Wax worlds
Yeah, in V2 bardin spoke in dwarve language when seeing an enemy, and even used dwarven terms to refer to his allies
Savant Psyker mentions how in the manufactorum the laborers sleep where they work while those in command sleep on feather beds
Chickens/birds survived????

Just makes me wonder how much fauna on Terra are still around
A lot
human colonists from the old times took a lot with them
from there they just adapt and spread
Ah makes sense
I imagine that beef or poultry is out of reach for most citizens of the imperium
And there's also who knows how many rough allegories to them
^
Lots of soy protein most likely
Or grox
Wdym by that
Ah
Yeah like uh Darktide's Savant psyker says "We got Camelid races here."
Which is obviously a sci-fi standin for a Camel
yeah they are just actual alien animals in this case
How lore friendly would it be if my Psyker like a certain bird a little too much. But not enough to be blatantly obvious but just took a teeny tiny sip?
The different is irrelevant, schemeing/hiding things is a thing of theirs
^
Twitter is heresy
Chaos is a slippery slope
you'll start with "Oh I'll use a tiny ounce of it"
then it gets worse, and worse, and worse
Custodes were on par with Astartrs in the lore before a certain point right? Just got to a part in a book where an unarmored world eater beat the shit out of an armored custodes and it was like "no, that shouldn't happen."
Older lore
Apparently also a mixup
Can't remember if it was that or the Harlequin incident where they were supposed to be Lucifer Blacks and not Custodes
I thought Harlequin were basically the Custodes version of Eldar though
Sorta, as I understand they'll win anything provided the play demands it
The older lore definitely does the custodians dirty lol
I don't think this one was, it was locked up in the imperial dungeon
Oh you're reading Outcast Dead
yeah lol
Idk power levels don't really matter is all I could say
consistency would be nice at least
In a series with this many books and this many authors, that'd be a feat, and hardly a small one
like the first heretic was probably a decent portrayal of custodians. But then the thousand sons has them getting killed like chattle during prospero
and that's also very fair. The collaberation between that many authors really makes inconsistencies inevitable
This was the infamous Lucifer black mixup some stupid custodes fans tried applying to the harlequin incident lol
You know what would make Alpha Legion cool?
If they played into the theme of the Hydra and the double primarchs where the marines have special tech that allow them to create illusory duplicates of themselves to throw off opponents
Have that Legion be all about optical illusions and misdirection
oh tons of stuff
back when caliban was around you had pretty much just normal horses
just bred over so long to be huge and buff
good ol destriers
They literally do all this
half their thing is camo-tech and deception techniques
Dilara can I send you a question rq
Then fuck me
Who tf said this was a request

Me

Was pretty surprised to hear about the two scouts who discovered STCs getting planets today
Nice to find the source for that
mhm
so much infact
stories say they were once able to speak
can someone give me a brief explanation as to why cadian eyes are purple ish
It's because they're close to the eye of terror
Their world literally is right on it
Yep
Their neighbor is an angry tear in reality, the warp, instead of a normal sun - they get to have the light of literal hell
Cadia 10/10 would recommend for a vacation
Along with Catachan and krieg
so im trying to learn more about the zealots background
is he just a literal priest?
are there "zealots" in the tabletop?
Correct.
None of the ones in darktide have a background minus the one you create.
They are just normal run of the mill zealots, citizens of the Imperium among the many masses
Yeah they are just basically extremely faithful citizens that would even willingly sign up for a warzone in the name of the emperor but sometimes they get shoot because they believe that they have the armor faith
^
The Agitator's background for example is that they just wanted to burn down a hab-block because they suspected something was happening in there that was unholy

so basically unsanctioned vigilante inquistors/ecclesiarcy?
Yeah and those that are actually found on war zones are sanctioned priests
only the Veterans and Ogryns have a background and thats due to being in the Imperial Guard
The zealots are just the local heaven's gate nutjobs
pretty much not that different from a street preacher you'll find IRL
Except this one can act on its violent urges to smite the unbelievers

And i'm pretty sure the psykers, at least one of them had training from the astro telepathica
I'm talking about the savant of course
For the seer and loner
I don't think so
Zealots are vague enough to be from literally anywhere
Seer and Loner are runaway unsanctioned psykers yeah
For Vet we basically have a full backstory for Cutthroat
And can vaguely guess the rest
yeee
With how obsessed savant is with the rules and protocols it's easy to tell that it's usually them who come from the astro telepathica
And for ogryns
Brawler definitely spent the most in the imperial guard
They get to enjoy luxurious life in nobility fr fr
He knows flanking and advanced strategies to some degree
Bodyguard too
Is Brawler the Bone 'Ead
Brawler is the YES SAH one yeah
Yeah
the dumbest ogryn even tho hes the only one with a Bonehead implant
Okay yeah that's probably why, since he'd be leading squads of ogryn
Shame that hadron looked at him and said i can hack to your brain
my dumbass cant find the updated galaxy map, does anyone know what forge world is closest or has the most dealings with necromunda?
And of course she hacked it
Most of necromunda's industry is in itself
Tbf bone eads aren't supposed to be smart, they're just good listeners
they dont rely on anyone
yeah but its mentioned that their shipments are analzyed by techpriests and shit before they send it because there is so much counterfeiting
its amazing
Do we even know where 'munda is
yeah
yeah Segmentum solar near terra, we got a map
also Bodyguard and Bully are much more smart so that explains it
when you sometimes start the Torrent
the Bully notes that the Water Cartel were keeping people starving so that they can exploit their need for supplies
is it even high profile?
I don't like Bully
its like
Tbh
I don't like me either
Star Wars Cantina Moment
Yeah i say brawler is smart but the only reason is because he got that implant,
Bodyguard and Bully are straight up smart
It's mostly just annoying when he buys in with "I don't care" completely randomly
@storm jungle he's picking up Fanatic's traits
Quick get the spray

Hey I've always been insanely depressed, I'm just mildly less overt about it
Damn
a lot of people dont know its only Brawler that has the implant
which is kinda annoying but i guess its never established clearly so
I listen to his voice lines for a good chunk of 180 hours of my gameplay so
It's very easy to remember for me
I guess it helps he actively complains about it a lot
I kid you not in one point he said that it cooks his brain
I hear body guard the least I think
JINX
gun
but yeah Brawler is actively getting more brain damage
in comparison Bodyguard and Bully uh actively LEARN
and get taught stuff off-screen
they mention a lot how the psykers especially tutor them on sentences/specific words too
At least brawler gets more jolly as he spends more time but the complaining still make him feel miserable
"The zealot is snivelling again"
lol
It does make me feel kinda sad that he's this big oaf that just wants to do his job, but had this big painful thing stuck in his head slowly, probably killing him
yep he has no freedom like Bully and Bodyguard
literally cannot learn or wants to learn anything
That's why he's got the implant and the others don't
💀
Smart enough to lead, too dumb to realize
but yeah plays well into the fact that the Imperium exploits ogryn because they are more or less mentally impaired children
Yeah it's the sad part with playing with brawler
Knowing that his implant thats supposed to improve him is slowly killing him
Also now that I'm done
I'm like half pissed
Cus I managed to catch on to the twist over an hour early
Otherwise, GG1 was pretty great
i have a personal mini project where i wanna make like every non space marine/xenos (besides gsc) killteam into necromunda gangs
i just did chaos venators fellgor ravangers
im probbaly gonan do hunter clade the same way
also its ryza by barely an inch on the map lmao
actually phaeton is closer i need tr read their lore
when every single map in 40k is comepltely different
ork kill teams look ******* amazing
yea i have them i wanna finish them for ork tober
but i also have like, a job and school
time management is both a blessing and a curse
You think it would be possible for me to get a Knight model then kitbash it to have giant speakers everywhere and act as a Noise Marine knight?
On the tabletop no
Because noise marines are on 32mm bases
And a knight is on like
A 100 and something mm base
Hey everyone. I wanted some opinions on this concept. I’m currently a Dungeon Master for a Table Top RPG game based in the Warhammer universe call Wrath and Glory.
I’m thinking of cool concepts and experience for my players to interact with and one of them was a Loyalist Night Lord who was cryogenically frozen before the Horus Heresy due to medical reasons. He would then be thawed out due to his cyrochamber malfunctioning.
He is a loyalist as thats what his Night Lords were the last time he remembered them, but doesn’t tolerate humanity worshiping the Emperor as a god, so to stop the local populace from worshipping, he flays the bodies of important religious figures as well as people caught openly worshiping the Emperor.
I thought that would be a good way to make a loyalist Night Lord that was still very dark and acting exactly how a loyalist Night Lord probably would act in the current setting if the last thing he remembers was upholding the Imperial Truth.
It works in setting
I meant purely just a visual decoration
Then yes
just a knight decked out in Noise Marine stylings and theme
Are there more noise marines that get created or are they still the original ones from the concert that created them?
There are more that are created. There are also a Noise Cult on a planet that make Nkise weaponries.
@jade holly I'd use a Volkite Knight weapon but flavour it as a Noise weapon tbh
It works. Loyalist traitors are rather common. I think you'd also have the aspect of... Night Lords being basically renegades before the Heresy and the very nature of the Chapter. Like was the character a Terran who was torturing for a noble goal or from Nostromo, torturing for the fun of it.
You could probably play with the effects of spending 10,000 years in cryostasis, like a form of dementia or physical ailment. Something that has left a lasting effect on them rather then them just appearing in 40k unscathed.
You could even have it that their mind has just become warped and they've been reduced to an animalistic state, mirroring Konrads early years on Nostromo where he was little more then a beast. This in turn, could be a tool to represent the corruption and moral degradation of the Local church or the Ecclesiarchy as a whole.
Though most likely if he was captured, he would spend the rest of his existance in a cell, face execution (guilt by association with a traitor legion) or if he's lucky (or rather who captures him) become a Black Shield for the Deathwatch
Though like having jet black skin and burning red eyes, the tendency too maim and flay might give his orgin away too those in the know
I already made a joke where I said that there was a Night Lord hiding under a bed when one of my players checked under it, so some of them are aware of what they are. I will for sure think about giving him some sort of physical ailment. I plan on having him be a psyker that can read minds and see into the future. I could make him peril every now and then, or have him go into a fit of rage. Kind of like Talos.
Just remember that if he's an NPC he shouldn't overshadow the pplayer characters. He could read minds or see the future, but it's important to know how that makes the players exsperience more interesting and dynamic, something for them to roleplay off of.
My honest suggestion would be to reduce him too a beast, a monster going off of instinct. Feral until he can be subdued and potentially rehabilitated, a monster scrambling along walls. His Space Marine nature only discovered when they find his lair containing the cryo-pod he was entured in.
Writing interesting characters for a story, tabletop wargame and ttrpg are three very different things. NPC's in a ttrpg are obstacles, accessories or mirrors for the player characters, they only exist to agrandize the players.
For example, if you had a Space Marine PC who could introduce the idea of them just being a soul-less brainwashed killing machine, drawing them into proving their humanity. Then you use this Night Lord as a mirror, like ''This is what you are without your humanity''
That said. I am a snob.
You do you
Loyalist Night Lords are... interesting, they tickle that 'Anti-hero' bone each of us have. The kid of characters we wish a character like Talon were
What are the odds of success of me sneaking into the emperors throne room and stealing one of his skeleton hands
Put it this way, if Trazyn the infinite and the Blood Ravens haven't stolen anything from the Emperor himself, its probably damn near impossible.
These are interesting points you are making. I will for sure look into making this Night Lord interesting for the players to interact with. I was thinking of perhaps trying to get them to sort of take him to the Inquisition in order to kind of see what he's about and maybe even get him to help the Imperium out.
The players kind of work for an Inquisitor named Inquisitor Cynrick Nightbane, who is an Inquisitor that doesn't follow the Puritan way of carrying out Inquisitorial duties. The setting that this campain takes place is within a small Solar System that is surrounded by Warp Storms and the Cicatrix Maledictum. So they are cut off from the rest of the Imperium. So this Inquisitor is a lot more forward thinking and willing to take any advantage he can gain in order to help this small pocket of the Imperium to survive.
Yeah the best-case scenario he becomes a Inquisitorial asset... I do suggest you look into Deathwatch Black Shields. You could even frame it as them capturing and turning him over, then theres suddenly this mysterious Black Shield palling around.
You should also prepare for them to just to put a bolt in his brain.
God damn players
they ruin roleplaying
I want to run a ttrpg without players... but I'm told this is called 'Writing a book'
I get that. I had this character made called "The Butcher" who was this high profile gang member for a local gang. I had plans for this whole fight to happen between him and the players, but one of the players one tapped him with a Long-Las while he was hiding behind a thick wooden desk before he could even make a move.
If you're gonna introduce a Night Lord you want as an important ally NPC, I'd make him basically like batman, but chaotic good (Brutally murders criminals). Make him at odds with your Inquisitor as the Night lord could be aware of how dangerous/power hungry Inquisitors could be based off conversations he's heard, and have your players act as the negotiators between the Night Lord and Inquisitor to get them to work together. Inquisitor should probably be hesitant to work with a traitor legion astartes even if he's supposed to be loyalist, and the Night Lord could be apprehensive of what he's heard of the Inquisition.
I imagine the Night Lord would want to remain autonomous either way, but could assist the players/Inquisitor in a last second way to even out what would initially appear to be a TPK battle if the cards are played right.
I'd also not have him with armor as if he were medically interred into cryostasis he probably wouldn't have it on and it'd go missing after 10,000 years, could make it so his identity is discovered via tattoos/legion markings, if the players can pull off a conversation, or possibly hints he leaves behind. Initially he could just appear as a monster, corpses of religious figures and criminals flayed and desiccated, pull a red herring to make it seem like an agent of chaos, and then after some investigating, having it be a loyalist Night Lord would be a fun plot twist
Those are some pretty good ideas. I will consider them for sure.
I also dunno what the ttrpg rules are, but give him a personal shield if you're trying to keep him alive and your players get trigger happy lol
buffing his dodge and stealth ability
idk but you should do it
I;m thinking like this
Batman V Superman Batmans first appearance 60FPS HFR HD
where he appears like a black smudge in the shadows. Punching into surfaces as he scrambles along them
or a red herring that its some warp entity
like theres a certain local legend built around him
you want a two-step reveal
- Its a space marine
- Its a nightlord
Misdirect the hell out of it because its unlikely the party would get reliable information
maybe a local gang were blackmailing or had control over a priest
and now theyre freaking out thinking thyre being targetted heating up gang conflicts in the area
Defintely
watch Predator 2
also
copy-cat killers. their victims have to be specially identified
and assassin cults
you have the groundwork for a really sick 'learn abot 40k gotham as you hunt this serial killer/daemon/xenos trophy hunter' investigation
They’re servitors
Not exactly, they are closer to Vat born Servitors
Almost always vat grown
Cherubs are different than servo skulls, both serve to assist but their creation and duties differ
Cherubs are more for appearance tbf, while Servo Skulls are more for normal use
The Genestealer Cults may be coming to Warhammer 40k Darktide sooner than you think. Let's discuss the evidence of Genestealer Cults on Atoma Prime, what the Tyranid roster would look like, and how specials, elites and bosses like Purestrain Genestealers, the Kelermorph, Patriarch, and Aberrants would play once this new faction is added.
Genest...
I dislike that people will just take this and say that's a confirmation from someone who knows 40k a lot
I would prefer other factions over GSC
People underestimate orks a little for the horde formula because even feral orks are a straight up challenge
Orks should get their own game tbh
agreed
Still wonder if this interview can be trusted
#Shacknews

Step into the violent, dystopian world of Warhammer 40,000.
From boiling hot industrial factories to the decaying water maintenance zone afflicted by constant acid rainfall - Tertium Hive is a hard and unforgiving place even at the best of times.
Your role is to serve the zealous I...
I know the last part we've been told to ignore cause there were plenty of errors due to how the dude asked the questions
Pretty sure that if we get greenskins, most of the mobs are gonna be Gretchin
With maybe elites being Boys and the like
I feel adding Orks would require making maps tailored specifically for em due to just how different of a faction they are. An ork boy is pretty big even when hunched, and having like 30 of em in a corridor would be pretty awkward
also yeah this
It's already pretty funky when a crusher train goes through a door
GSC's basic mook are all somewhat human sized and fit the aesthetic that already exists meanwhile
the issue is Scabs and Dregs already fill a ton of the niches GSC do
The alternatives are other chaos cults and ||necrons waking up deep within the hive||
I'd take GSC over any other faction as secondary enemies
Would be cool to see them fighting the mob6
Mobs fighting mobs for spectacle and the gains of our operatives would be great yeah
Deathwing had pretty neat things for GSC and you could design them to be unique in some way
; v; I liked it...
Yeah was about to say too bad Deathwing bad
(it's still a bad game)
they were just
- Cultist with gun
- Cultist with rocket
- 545 Genestealer Types
Hey, GSC might also mean we get to see someone from the Ordos Xenos
They nailed the environments but somehow made melee the worst thing in the entire game
It is 7 years old at this point and they basically had to do a soft reboot
Spinning_Ogryn.wav
The last thing a sniper sees after getting nailed by a gigantic rock
I still think a tide game with the Orks as the player side is better than the other way around
A squad of Kommandos assault IG positions
40k genshin impact parody where you're an ork. It's still a gacha nightmare in a colorful, cutesy anime world. You are still an ork.
Geanie with panzershreck
a mission where you mostly defend a fixed position would be pretty cool
I think it would be better as a new mode, that way the goal is to really stay as long as possible
like a survival mode?
Like a Horde mode
Even feral orks pack a decent amount of punch, and hey those ramshackle guns will still hurt
Like GoW2 Horder 2.0 or VT2 Fortune of War
Honestly
I feel like we're more likely to see CSM as bosses before any other faction
That, or plaguebearers
Except we won't see SM
Plaguebearers are likely, they may have been teased about before
I'm pretty sure fat shark also stated that they want to no space marines
I'm getting sick of them, they are cool but they are way too abundant
Beastmen from the underhives. (Lets them reuse assets)
mfw a vermintide 2 minotaur rams me off a bridge
Honestly a faction that has some Beastmen like the Tzeentch one I wouldn't mind too much tbh
All of chaos is supposed to have beastmen if you go with the warp being linked to AoS/Warhammer Fantasy
40k isn't tied to fantasy/AoS
they have explicitly said they will not be adding marines in any capacity
allied or enemy
Ughufgfgg after listening to gaunt I'm loving darktide a lot more for some reason
But yeah I enjoyed it a ton
It's good
Fellgor Beastman are already in 40K tabletop
As a Chaos Kill Team and a unit for Chaos Space Marines
Beastmen have always been in warhammer
it doesnt have to do with universe connection
its just a mutation
True
They were allowed to serve in Imperial Guard
Until proclaimed mutant
Remain that it isn't tied to Fantasy/AoS
you mean even the Xenos?
a small bit of hyperbole for my sins
i mean both the imperium and all the chaos gods
although i guess you could say kroot are the beastmen of tau
i was going to say that would be pretty cool
You can't say that with any certainty given the few times Kaldor Draigo has easter egged himself into Fantasy media
Except that's old and that they've completely separated them 2
Squats have them
(Bolt Rev)
The
One time
Where it was
Vaguely implied

Didn't fatshark imply it in some of their lore pieces?
Talking about a giant in silver armor
That's a given
FS ?
They used to be the same universe then they separated the Materium and now both Materium and Warp are separated
Like, it's left deliberately vague
But to say it's categorical that there isn't any connection at all
Ye
The Liber Malefic is a good read
And if they're bringing it up, it calls into question the idea that it's irrelevant because it's old
Vague on purpose obviates the need to give a definite answer
Maybe, maybe not
But never a certainty
Except we have official words that it's separate and that it's GW/FS having fun, nothing more

Well, I can at least blame this on AoS
Fun universe, but man they handled End Times rather poorly
AoS deserve no blame and the separation happened before the switch
The transition from fantasy to AoS could have been handled so much better
And I've had to wait about 8 years for Bretonnia to come back
Doesnt make it AoS's fault
So, allow me to be a little bit salty that I had to watch everyone else get fun stuff
How do Exodite Eldars survive the harsh universe of 40k with all the constant threat from other races and demonic invasions and whatnots?
Afaik they live without any technological edge
By being awesome and having Dino mounts
AoS itself isn't the problem, but it was saddled with that legacy
They still have most tech they could need
And Dinos
So, Imperium could just go to their planet and just bomb them into extinction if they wanted to?
The real problem is the Grognards
Iirc exodites also live pretty far, on the fringes
So getting to them in the first place is problematic, especially currently
It's less that it's problematic and more like why would you do it
Like they aren't really expanding and stuff
Also Eldar have some sort of AA Tech , I think
As long as grognards are people who trash AoS for existing, and not people who just miss fantasy as a setting getting the occasional update and lore
I still remember how vitriolic everything got when the end times wrapped up, and as much of a mess as it was, people really took it too far in both directions
No because a craftworld would come in and wipe out said Imperials out
Exodites got longstanding guardianship pacts with Craftworld Eldar since they sometimes trade and keep in touch with them since they are kinsman.
Exodites live on any Maiden World that is in the galaxy, so their location can be basically anywhere far, near or between.
Ahh
Yeah its the usual 40k handwave thing for homebrew
So are Psykers just naturally more intelligent than other humans
Or is the training required not to explode require higher intelligence?
It could be that Psyker on average are smarter than other but it's not something we know for sure
The Psykers we play as seem to be more intelligent than average
But tbh from the training they speak of I could imagine that not many Psykers manage to live far enough to get to the point the PCs are at
Most psykers end up lynched for being witches or being used as batteries for the Golden Throne.
But are they generally smarter than the average citizen? 🤔
Prolly not
Fair nuff
The ones that survive to be sanctioned psykers? Probably just because the average citizen isn't the brightest.
Averages are really hard with something like the Imperium but at the very least, our Psykers are all probably literate.
All the characters are pretty smart, especially the Ogryns.
only Bodyguard and Bully are the naturally smart ones
Brawler's intelligence is attributed to his implant and even then that thing is straight up cooking his brain
Is brawler the one that goes Sah?
Exodites do not lack technology
They simply do not use it most of the time
And also attacking exodites tends to piss off other eldar
Depending on who the exodites trade with that could include dark eldar
So have fun being tortured for all of eternity
Ye
yep
Our Psykers in game also speak pretty heretical ngl
its the Loner specifically
thats uber fucking heretical lol
except everything they say is pretty fucking true
And Seer is batshit insane
shame because the VA is really good
Seer like
I love the woman Savant
clearly is seeing Tzeentchs realm at times
He prolly should be uh
watched more carefully
he's not allowed weapons on board the ship I wonder why
I'm not sure if I would call her an Imperium Bootlicker, I think she is mostly accepting on what need to be done for day to day survival and isn't thinking much further
They absolutely seem to hold faith in the imperium
compared to both the Seer and the Loner they're the imperium supporter of the bunch
But less than Proffessional Vet and the Zealots at least
Yeah
But still a fan of the imperium
Also Ironicially the judge zealot says a lot of heretical stuff
Regarding justice lol
DUDE
SAVANT LITERALLY SAYS
BEING A SERVITOR AKA SERVICE AFTER DEATH IS A COMFORTING THING
💀
LOL
I take it back
I love how 2 of the zealots love servitors
And one of them is freaked out by them
I don’t remember which one dislikes servitors
I had that interaction and someone in the game playing Loner was like
"BRUH WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY"

"COMFORTING IS IT???"
one is Judge, he comments on their "dead eyes"
💀
The Judge probably burned some noble to death or some shit lol
With how they talk about the upper class failing the people
Judge is really weird because they’re simultaneously an imperial boot licker while hating like
The system to an extent lol
Yeah Judge is in the middle ground
he believes in the idea of the Imperium and uh the Emperor
but HATES the system
its why hes my main
hes not a total bootlicker
yep
agitator legit goes
OH MAN, IMAGINE SLEEPING IN THIS SHITHOLE
SUCH GLORY
💀
Fanatic is lowkey insufferable lol
and he blames the homeless/poor people for being the way they are
instantly deleted
lmao
💀
Fanatic seems to be the least educated of all the zealots
Seeing as loner says they don’t know high gothic and just try to sound fancy
Loner is prolly one of my favorite personalities in the game
absolutely the same
its so refreshing to have a 40k game where someone calls out all the Imperium's hypocrisy
He always speaks the truth lol
well sometimes he says something really creepy and vague
but they mostly call out the Imperium on its shit lol
In every aspect
the church, the armies, the marines, the psykers, the institutions etc
At least as far as we know
but no one fucking talks about them in the game lol
nobody ever mentions blanks ingame i think
so that doesn't really count
Not sure most people even really know what Blank are
tbf
our rejects already know a ton lol
they know the Grey Knights exist
someone onboard the mourningstar has loose lips lol
Yeah
He's humanity first through and through but is probably one of the types that thinks the imperium is corrupted
one of the psykers says like
"The grey knights are not supposed to exist, but it is said they have intrest in Atoma" or some crap
along those lines lol
Someone on the mourningstar talks too much lol
I think we're just becoming trusted
yeah and we are hereticus
In Emperors Gift the inquisitors retinue showers with one lol
GK are the chamber militant of it
Like it's a secret to everyone
But we're the guys that do secrets
No they're Malleus
to be fair
Hereticus is sisters no?

"My lord Inquisitor we could use the Grey Knights here."
"Best I can do is some hobos from a prison ship."
" 💀 "
tbf
the beasts of nurgle are a bad sign lol
there's a tear in fucking reality somewhere
and daemonhosts, unless we go with the theory that the host we see is the same one every time
which honestly is a lot more creepier and better
We're definitely in malleus territory with the amount of supernatural bs we deal with
anyways Ordo Malleus would probably want to get involved soon lol
Hereticus chamber militant used to be the Sororitas no ?
but I don't think Grendyl wants to share
also what the fuck are we retreving the grimores for lol
Tbf though
like seriously
Eisenhorn was ordo Xenos right
are we just storing them in the library or some shit
started off as part of Ordo Xenos yeah
by the end he's uh
???
Probably wouldn't be the first time lol
Eisenhorn is suppose to be Xenos but Abnett makes him do nothing but Malleus shit
i think it was definitley him just not giving af
Maybe exise them

Grendyl demanding malleus to kindly fuck off from his case
Tbf
no one knows whats going on rn technically
I'm not sure who we're sending the transmission to but its probably grendyl?
yeah its Grendyl
"Heresy is my territory"
"You effin kidding me there are literally demon hosts there!"
"As i said heresy"
They tell you
I mean there must be a tipping point where Hereticus just say: that's not our perjury, get the Xenos or Malleus
Like I would understand if Hereticus is the generalist and Malleus and Xenos were specialist that get then called upon when needed
That rarely tends to happen because an Ordo is VERY protective of their cases most of the time and rely on outside Imperial forces to clear it
its very much a CIA/FBI situation
where they almost always hinder each other lol
"Sorry pal I need that budget update more than you do :)"
"WE ARE WORKING FOR THE SAME COUNTRY"
Isn't Cia external and Fbi internal?
Yeah but the CIA is famous for always doing their own thing
and just.. not listening to anyone

Lol
but without getting too political yeah the Inquisition is basically the same
Its funny how inquisitors occasionally start throwing guard regiments at each others
The CIA has fought a proxy war against the US before

But yes they’re supposed to be external
They were just being a little silly dw about it

What are the lore ramifications of this
Wait the judge just offered to teach the Russian sounding ogryn how to write lol
When did this get added
it was in for awhile but as usual convos like this were impossible to get triggered hence all the generic dialogue
the latest skill-set update fixed it so these occur way more frequently
Judge and Bully get along pretty well
It's actually quite nice
ikr
ya know as rich as GW is, it would probably be a boon if they had some engineers/designers on the team to make it so things that can be understandable actually make some sense
That engineer would have an aneurism
oh yeah trying to unfuck the existing stuff for sure lol
like they don't need to explain how their power generators work or make things super high tech beyond our understanding actually work, but simple things like that should be made to be feasible
Easy for ork bikes. Paint it pink. Pink things turn.
warp fuckery things can stay warp fuckery, that's magic fantasy stuff, but wargear stuff that isn't energy based should be designed in a way that isn't absolutely stupid
Bro. Planets have different gravitational fields. Whilst the laws of physics remain the same, the levels are different. What makes sense on earth might not even function on another planet.
That's how I justify it anyway.
The one that is less fucked iirc
I mean like ejection ports on boltguns not making sense, or those stupid bikes not having a discernable way of turning
Sanctus
Ah. Nihilus could have made the use of convicts more understandable, or atleast justify the desperate measures
true, a persnal preference
like 'this galaxy is fucked, literally all we have are these convicts'
Tbf Tertium is pretty fucked lol
The convicts being used as a disposable strike force works
Use of convicts is pretty commonplace anyway
Wait until you try firing a bolt gun on a planet with a high gravitational field. Watch as it goes nowhere.
If they die they kill a bunch of enemies
If they complete the mission and die
They finish the job, kill a bunch of enemies
That still doesnt tie into anything about the tech not making sense
It will go and hit the enemy I am aiming at perfectly, because the rules are made up, and the logic doesn't matter

If they finish the mission and live
Then great
Send them out again
Maybe give then some marginally better gear
if you're on a planet with that high of gravitational force to make a bolter round go nowhere nobody is gonna be on that planet in the first place
Same for tech. 😏
"This tank doesn't have any treads how can it move"
"Something something planet gravitational pull"
Be eldar
Low gravitational field.
Ignore terrain
no
I've noticed with some of the newer stuff like that it's gotten better
Also yeah mostly
GW vaguely cares now
wait until you see the Primaris ATV
Instead of not caring what so ever
I'm told the Rogal Dorn sucks because it apparently doesn't fit the rest of the Guard
ATV is an abomination lol
It fits
Anyone who says it doesn’t should be fed to a grox
The Mario Kart one ?
Yes
So would Slaanesh have an only fans?
No
Slaanesh is the owner of the website
If you survive that is
like the ATV in this one?
oh god
Yep
where you bottom out in 6 inches of mud lol
also if you are the gunner uh
i hope you like going deaf
That's an ATV?
Tbf that’s a ton of marine designs
The weird ass dark angel one
LMAO Mario kart, but how are these Marines not deaf
Is the progenitor lol
Future uh sound dampening uh stuff
We had some smartasses that went
"their helmet disables it"
then someone went
"So what about the massive muzzleflash from the minigun"
"Oh"

Blindness is for cowards
20mm rotary vulcan goes eeeeeeeee
The progenitor of blind and deaf marine
Looks cool, but by the throne do I not want to ride that
Or operate anywhere near it
If the primaris atv causes blindness and going deaf
This thing does that and third degree burns
I still don't understand where the legs of the gunner are supposed to be
See ridiculous stuff like that I'm fine with because funneh
he's on his knees maybe lol
maybe doin a catcher's squat
Oh I don’t mind it at all lol
Probably sitting,. though why make the gunner and driver seat open?
I just think it’s weird to say the primaris land speeder is goofy
Bcs it has the deaf guy
In fact, save for the metal box and dreadnaughts. Almost all space marine vehicle are open compartments
BROTHER I CANNOT HEAR SHIT
the helmets do have solid sensory adaptation tech tho
WHAT?!
I love the tiny ammo drums that probably hold like 50 rounds at most
oh my god you are right its literally the size of a marine's helmet or even smaller
be a lot cooler if it had some belt feeds that go to a larger drum somewhere in the chassis of the turret instead of getting enough rounds to fire for probably 4 seconds
Yeah, starting to think the guard has more practical vehicle designs than any of the imperial factions
"Enemy left"
fires one burst
"Weapon dry!"
yeah that one makes me sense, designed for hit and run on armored targets
Las-cannon muzzle flash, but overall good
I think the missiles are a one use sort of deal
They look like the Gatling rocket launcher
On the onegar
Which can reload somehow lore wise
Eh? Lore be wacky at times then
they teleport new rockets in!
Lol
But the onager’s rocket launcher is like
Directly connected to the interior hull
So I’d assume there’s some feed mechanism inside
I have no clue how the primaris one is supposed to work lol
I think the only time I've seen actual logistics used was when the Lunar Wolves were on Davin and they actually employed resupply points for ammo
i guess GW doesn't think logsitics is cool and all :c
