Well let’s not act like their exactly “easy to deal with”
yeah i'm actually looking forward to fall out sunburst
It’s still bullshit reaction
Yeah GW is a bit of a cuckoo in the head but they're not the worst company to exist
looking at you Wizards of the beach
Sucks for people who wana make fan animations and get paid for it
But also like
SODAZ is like the worst hill to die on
For this topic imo
And he’s the one people try to use
How is the lore right now quality wise?
A lot for some reason
Good
it's good but of course there is the occasional hiccup
Last main stuff was Guilliman vs Mortarian?
Nah
Arks of Omen
And now Leviathan part 2 as well
Or rather the fourth tyrannic war
yeah that one was a bit of a mid it was still pretty fun
Oh abbadoon stuff
Tbf abbadon didn’t really get what he wanted ironicially
So tyranids are the bigger bad no?
Like sure he killed a bunch of loyalists
it's not really his it's more of the Vashtorr winning
that guy is truly gaming
Vashtorr is now on his way to ascend lol
Not really
Ascend to demigod?
There’s multiple on going threats
Finally an actually 5th chaos God
He’s a minor chaos god rn
local demon on his way to dab at the rest of us
But he’s got what he thinks he needs to become a full blown chaos god
What will be his domain???
the forge
And is now slaughtering his way through everyone that opposes him
Technology
Some level of firm alliance most likely
You think they will actually do it?
Oppression potentially
GW?
his territory is the forge of souls, he is responsible for manufacturing the war engines of the chaos gods
This ************ don't play around
The Vashtorr thing is on going
That is certainly a banger design
It might just stall out and he becomes a really big minor chaos god
Instead of a major one
Either way he’s pretty sure he’s got the tools to attempt acension
Belakor crying somewhere in the warp
still has more lore than malice
Belakor tried stopping Vashtorr lol
They're going to put slaanesh in a pocket dimension and Vashtorr is going to take her place in the big 4
Malice is a puny ass lesser chaos god
lemme out
Belakor
Gives Slaanesh factions a reason to leave their w*nk caves and gives Vashtorr a chance to shine
Yeah he's not even considerable as a minor God at best he's just a greater demon

Hey it’s not their fault GW keeps refusing to use Slaneesh
The raptor god is more threatening then Malice lol
Like EVER

malice is the god of death/destructin right? I feel like most citizens hate their lives so much they welcome it like a depressed college student
Age of Shitmar

so it wouldn't fuel him
but its not awful
Yeah I think they're essentially gonna do the same thing use it as an excuse to de sex the minis
Also Aos is straight up better than fantasy
3rd edition I guess
yes old fantasy is no doubt superior but it's not the worst franchise
fantasy is just stolen shit from tolkien
Shut your mouth
EVERY FANTASY IS
Fantasy as a tabletop game also wasn't doing so hot
in like
6, 7 and 8th edition lol
it was dying a slow and painful death
Fantasy wasn’t super strong either but
AoS sells really well
It's literally just bad I'm not indulging the nostlagia w*nk
Reported, for telling me the truth

AoS minis are genuinely creatively inspired
but Slaanesh got these 2 in AoS 2e
Yeah AOS is pretty good it's not the best but it's not the worst
Yall seen that new troggoth?
Won’t lie tomb kings were and still are pretty weak as a faction
Even the new slaanesh warcry minis are fantastic
slaanesh honestly didn't get super de-sexed either imo
when they got their release
Creative assembly did a way better job then GW themselves when it came to fantasy
Average redditor bottom right

asthetically speaking
No that’s an average discord mod
used to not like AOS orc models after spending some time with them I realized something that I was glad to be wrong with their models ******* look sick
Because even they have SOME sort of power
imo AoS Orks suffer from one thing regarding the Ironjawz
which is
they're just black orks as a faction but bigger
like they take the concept of black orks being the line troop and then turn it up to 11 which is like fine I guess
but also Orks being this super elite army is also weird as fuck lol
so do crabs have some significance when it comes to slanesh or was it just for a style
they're one of the animals they use for their visual design language
yeah the Goffz have the same problem but they kind of get a pass because they still have other things going for them, Goffz literally have nothing going for them other than being super orks
Goffz at least don't look that way in their model range
*every single goddamn Ironjawz is huge *
these guys put primaris to shame lol
Ironjawz are almost too big imo
Like don't get me wrong they're fucking sick
Black and yellow just goes good together
but they're absurdly huge, absurdly tough and look like they could snap a chaos warrior in half
like the Ironjawz megaboss is almost the size of a dreadnought in 40k lol
Brute Ragers could straight up grind cheese in their chest and then break five people with a single punch
tbh at this point
the only thing that needs like fleshing out for Orks in AoS is like
normal Orks and Savage Orks
Ironjawz being heavy gork worshippers and Kruleboy being heavy mork worshippers are both pretty fleshed out
yeah the normal orks which are the Ard'Boyz aren't even normal they're basically just Black Orcs
The salamanders of orkz
An actual faction of just normal size orcs would be pretty fun
that is not what a black orc is 💀
Normal by warhammer standards of course
Ik😭

Brother with all respect I am telling you this there is nothing similar to a salamander to an orc faction
gaming
the new chaos chosen are great as well, I'm a big fan of the drum guy
Imagine being a fan of another franchise
And having to do population comparisons to Warhammer
yeah even though my favorite design choice is armored goliaths and monsters, admit this is pretty ******* cool

tbf the literal wood elves start encroaching on monster territory
some of the Sylvaneth straight up are giant fucking tree monsters
despite technically being elves
yeah i agree
like this thing is technically an elf lol
and its bigger then like most stormcast by quite a bit
and hey Giant insects are pretty cool
giant tree with a sword
I just realized
the tree lord ancients aren't actually the warhammer fantasy treemen mini
they're very similair visually but none of them build the same way as the fantasy one
They were revamped during the End Time no ?
This. Looks. Amazing
They aren’t the endtime mini
I checked
For some reason GW made another one lol
this is the 8e treeman
his stance is a lot less wide
and he doesn't have a sword
This is the sylvaneth faction?
Thats a wood elf mini
but the previous ones were Sylvaneth yes
which are mostly reincarnated elven souls given to alarielle
and she sort of decided she doesn't really want to deal with fleshy elves
if we get a vermintide in age of sigmar there’s a good possibility if they’re reusing the same characters Kerellian is a tank
And also probably 10 times more traumatized from having her soul devoured by slaanesh
I forget that its not all dystopian cybergrunge
I barely know about the dystopian high fantasy apparently.
Oh right. That bit. The eldar.
Heresy, Xenos are forbidden. Let alone a part of the imperial inquisition.
Me when vermintide

Different setting
Fantasy and AoS is much less xenophobic in general
And the answer to everything isn’t total brutal violence
Unless it’s chaos
In which that case the answer is total brutal violence
Yeah, but still completely no prospect for aeldari of any flavour in 40k.
The eldar corsairs look amazing tho
That's not what he is saying though
I’m not talking about 40K lol
I was talking about a hypothetical tide game in AoS
Oh ok. Fair enough. The organic character system would be nice for AOS or fantasy
Sylvaneth are my new beloved
I love the lumineth
there is a sanctioning process for xenos that allows them into the imperium
on an individual basis though
and obviously with how xenophobic the empire at large is they dont get a lot of freedoms
6th and 7th were doing fine, it's 8th that killed it thanks to the way it was written
I played a lot during 6th and 7th, and it was popular in Europe. In some regions in Europe it was actually the dominant game over 40k.
8th fucked the army composition and favoured larger units while GW were drastically increasing prices, because it was written in an environment where you could just grab loads of studio models to use for playtesting without thought on what people could practically buy, paint up and carry around easily
it was a reaction against 'cavalryhammer' 7th, because the rules then favoured cavalry quite a bit (but there were some non-cav armies that were good) but at least that was less costly to actually get into, and IMO was a more interesting game moving around heavy cavalry than having huge units that just bellyflop in the middle while you hope your wizzard could cast a total power spell that could delete the enemy blob.
Been listening to some videos on Darktide lore and wow I'm absolutely enthralled with the world of 40k
Hearing how the Medicare stations are made was fucked up
Hey it's not the worst faith at least you can help people I mean you can be subjected to a lot worse in the imperium
If you're lucky enough to have your mind completely wiped and be a husk of yourself
Apparently sometimes through error or tech priests being assholes, those in the medicare stations can sometimes still remember their past selves
It's not an error
Which is the fun part
The human element can't be removed entirely
So something is always left
Oh.... ._.
Omg it's like lobotomised dementia, remembering only fragments of your former self but being stuck in the husk of your own body and mind
And being turned into servitor is considered a good way of redeeming yourself
( it's not )
Sadly that's a reality brought upon by the Imperium, by banning AI and the use of AI, Tech Priests had to find a workaround, by using organic brains as the CPU
I mean the tech priests are the ones that condemn AI as literal blasphemy
But after the AI uprising thousands of years before that, everyone's too scared to use it
Only because it came round and bit humanity on the ass
Try and play God to machines and that's what happens
If you give AI sentience and treat them like shit that do happen
During the Dark Age of Technology I guess humans got bored and tried new things and experimented, one of those was sentience in AI
And it was nearly responsible for destroying humanity
When Clippy starts talking to Alexa and the roomba that the only way to prevent chaos is the extermination of its creators entire race... yeah I am not surprised admech went the route they did along with Big E.
Same
what you get out of true AI depends on what you put in
factions that don't mistreat their AI don't have issues with it
There's a book I once tried to read where Humanity find an old AI in the sea, coming from an Alien race that is much older than Humanity, and so they start befriending the AI and incorporating it in their systems. The MC get one implanted in his head iirc and they treat each others as brother/sister or something
Can Chaos be beat? Or just changed to be more amenable and benevolent?
We're not doing your homework for you Emperor
Are there traitor legions that just took a third option and was like
"Yeah, we don't like the emperor but we're not doing the whole chaos thing"
Not really
Traitor legion that just retires and goes to some backwoods world and chills
there are traitor marines who just fucked off to do their own thing
didn't really fall to chaos
could conceivably happen to a chapter but never did to a legion
There's phoenix guard in the bile books that just fucked off to some random tundra and lived in a Cabin
sounds like a good time honestly
probably not an easy life though, space marines need a LOT of calories
see that type of thing is what it takes to get me to care about space marines
someone being an individual with a personality
other than just "raa war, empra gud, xeno bad"
any indication that they have an inner life, not just the npc meme
From whatI can gauge that's generally the case with most prominent marines
But most marine fans probably wouldn't know
if they just stick with the chapter and do normal space marine things, you cannot make me believe in them as a character
and "normal space marine things but more heroic" does not break that mold
Yeah it doesn't make me believe that these people who are given the power to change the future of humanity are people, nothing more than just glorified killing machines most of the time
Making space marines actually feel human
Is such an amazing thing
The socalled angels were once people too
i think one of the cain books did it? maybe someone else, idr
some novel where the main character had tea with a space marine, no armour, just a human interaction
that, on its own, does SO MUCH to make a character believable
Yeah I think a good portion of people forget that space marines were once human too
They are only ascended to angels to be sent off to wars but that doesn't mean they can't remember who they used to be
unless they're grey knights lol
Yeah i separate Grey Knights as Their own thing
grey knights are so well named
no colour, no character, nothing interesting going on
L take
cant really say that now with Custodes around
This freak out is basically an average ork goff when he can't kill something in two seconds
L take
Custodes players when I won’t stop blasting Slipknot as Noise Marines during our tabletop battle (The silence would offend Slaanesh)
Custodes players are legit the most elitist people you can meet
their subreddit has them malding over half the lore events where their faction loses members/dies
😂
I don’t even play tabletop I just think the lore is cool.
Same
I’m all for papa Nurgle but the idea of a metal band SM group is too hilarious to pass up on
Meanwhile sisters losing entire sisterhoods every codex
At least it wasn't grey knights doing it this time.
Are there any stories about tau trying to convert space marines
Outside of that attempt to use some psychic maggots to pry secrets from raven guard marine
There’s a few but they’ve pretty much given up lol
I know by now they're just shoot on sight
They’re almost shoot on sight
You can still negotiate with them sometimes
But they don’t bother converting them because it doesn’t work
Are there new custodes being trained or is it case of once they're gone, they're gone?
There are new ones being made
So custodes aren't a limited resource then?
They're limited in that they're made slowly
who makes them though? I always figured it was the emperor before his entombment and then they could no longer make new ones
but new ones are still being made in the current setting or is it left ambiguous?
At least i remember their codex said zilch
Custodes are still made, just incredibly ******* slow because of the amount of resources that goes into one
but we don't know who is making them or really how. I mean I like it, always fun to leave things to speculation
Yeah how exactly they're made is unknown
yeah that's the secret, but this is the imperium they have a lot of secrets
We do know tho
They've got entire populations of artificers and gene alchemists
Who handle the entire process
But its not elaborated on
Its handwaved by saying they are made through Terran "gene-alchemists"
I'm just gonna with it's Rogal Dorn in a centurian suit making Custodies until proven otherwise
so more or less very highly important geneticists that work within the Imperial palace
Rogal Dorn the geneticist!
but that works for me, makes sense. Kinda disappointing it's kept vague but I'm sure somewhere down the line it'll be expanded upon
Translation: eugenics
Not exactly the same things
They are taken from normal people as children and then made into Custodes
eugenics and transhumanism are core parts of the imperium lol
Yeah I see them as premium space marines
The processes of making them are probably not the same but both turned out to be giant super weapons that can kill everything in front of it one is just better than the other so
thats what they are in a way, because they are the emperor's personal legion and he HAS to have the nicest things
What kind of music do you guys suppose the Eldar make?
We already kinda know.
pretty much normal string instruments/gentle tunes
If its corsairs/drukhari though probably anything
Honest anwser: Screams of the tortured
Fun answer: Death metal with a heavy amount of screaming (their own or others)
Expecting ANYTHING good of the Dark Eldar

I think they have to be my least favorite faction
Tau automatically being in last place aside

IT has been a while since I've consumed a 40k book
Their builders literally play jazz to raise giant buildings and make weapons
That's definitely something
dark eldar are great, just torture people to live forever
Ahh... beautiful, sounds like a drug fueled rave in the most shadiest part of town.
Yup definitely dark eldar
Tau seems like the faction to blast city pop or anime music
Theres also this example
Ah...elf stuff
Guy's jawline classifies as a sword
Screams of Agony
Eldar my guy not Dark eldar
They defintely fucked that tree
As you know
They fucked EVERYTHING
Wat
You don't birth Slaanesh without doing some weird shit, that tree defintely saw some shit
Craftworlders are the ones that saw that and left 💀
THEY ALL SHALL SUFFER
so not the same thing
Thats what THEY say
Knife ear propaganda
this is about the same as seeing today's Italians and saying they killed countless people as Romans

Who WOULDN'T want to be the Romans
Or saying that modern day germans are basically still the nazi
Never did understand the craft world background, who are they?
Eldar that decided to bail
Military, religious pilgrims, sane people?
Eldar that saw the Fall coming and realised most of their race was crazy and left.
When everything is getting worse
They are pretty sane people
So military and uninfected
The Craftworlds are basically Preppers but Eldar
Yeah, i mean i don't want to sit on my front lawn and see jonathan and angelo going at it for the fifth time today because i just want to enjoy my space tea
unless you are Biel-Tan which is the only militaristic craftworld there is
basically this yeah
True, though they have massive floatillas of what are effectively refugee ships
yep
Craftworlds are basically continent to planet sized refugee ships and more or less utopias
They were used as transport ships back in the day right
So remnants of the aeldari navy that just in a metaphorical and literal sense, jump ship
nah they got a navy
thats just a part of the escort craft you can see around the ship as tiny dots
Transport and trading
imagine cruise/cargo ships more or less
Yeah so imagine the thing that they actually considered a warship back in the day if that's what you call a transport ship
That's a craft world?
One yes
Yep
Looks like a modded destroyer
all craftworlds look different
Yeah, but in terms of weaponry what do they have
craftworlds aren't normal
No specifics, just superweapons etc
elf shit
Hmmm i see
they very big shuriken launcher
Considering the Eldar are ancient, odds are that vessel is the archaic equivalent of a cruiser
you joke
the improbably large shuriken launcher
but theres one eldar ship where uh
it has a massive spider abdomen
that shoots massive wires
What is the deal with the Eldar population?
that entangle and cut apart ships
Isn't it REALLY bad?
Kinda
Cool, warp spider ships
they are a post-scarcity society
eldar guns literally pushin rope
Because catastrophe stuff vs 40k conflict scale
Don't eldar literally have the ability to make weapons and buildings just by singing gangnam style
So they have no issues with supplies and logistics, lucky elves
Yes and yes.
but theres literally as many eldar as the plot/author demands
so its not that big of an issue
Exactly
So their "population scarcity" is relative to the writer
Thats what I assumed
yeah but the general message is their populations arent massive
Are they doing well in the galaxy right now?
they are all seperate from each other
Ehhh
Dying race
Conviniently billions die vs tyraninds on lyanden
yes, but that's kind of like asking "don't humans have the ability to make a kilometer tall house by just stacking rocks?"
I can't imagine they are compared to the REST of the galaxy
Eldar tend to be kind of the punching bag
Billion isnt a big number in 40k scale
Because elves

Remeber Earth NOW has only 7 billion
I don't know man singing gangnam style seems more fun than stacking rocks
A billion is just the average Monday loss of life count
In 40k over how many tightly packed planets?
With 's. So could be hunreds
singing wraithbone into structures is probably more fun yeah
The planet Tertium the one Darktide takes place in has 90 million as one example
Terra has hundred billions
Humans fuck and breed fast like rats
for every second we talk lots of people born and die right now
Rats, why do i suddenly remember a specific video from a specific creator
Oh well probably nothing
90 million uninfected or part of census as a whole ... because that's a lot of Zeds to kill
90 million is kinda low for a hive city
Probably a good chunk of the population to be fair
I cant remember what the veteran said
it was either million or billion
same shit at this rate 💀
90 billion is probably a bit high lol
it WAS 90-something
So....we're really screwed in tertium
Gotta be a billion no? Its a HIVE world
hive cities aren't exactly uniform
Thats assuming people don't live there too
Yeah some of them are straight off tall enough to reach the atmosphere
Or the stratosphere i don't remember
Also could make the assumption that the things the characters say isn't always accurate
new york has 8.5 million people
Thats the tricky part because 8 Black Library writers worked on the script/dialogue for this game
Each one has a refractor shield and the most dangerous variant uses of power sword and a plasma gun
So if we 60% of the entire population of tertium either insane or undead, can't we just nuke some sectors?
a hive city is usually hundreds of times larger than NYC
Tertium the main hive city has an industrial output that needs securing
going both up and down
the characters suggest exterminatus at various points but its said to not be doable just yet
Morrow said that we will keep fighting until theres no hope left
Oh yeah, I'm meaning more of the characters themselves may just be hearing rumors or speculating, not that the writers are incorrect on accident
A lot of imperium fights basically have two things
They are either taking something or defending something
On our case right now we are taking something
Morrow has some serious hope then
We need the city intact because it produces a lot of weapons and vehicles
the thing about tertium is that in spite of sections being occupied by the enemy, it is STILL producing materiel
Yeah I wonder how is that possible
for the imperium i mean
Yeah bad shit but nothing OMG TERTIUM is FUCKED
so until that stops they're not going to exterminatus
We also dont know how deep the poxwalker infestation goes
The manufactoria we enter is in full operation, yet with ungodly amounts of hostiles in the AO
at the moment the war is largely delegated to the underhive and middle-hive
The escalation has to be chaos rituals
Yeah the imperium rarely if ever brings extremely destructive super weapons out, because they want to benefit from a win after all
and throneside
Get the manufacturers going stuff like that
i think throneside is like upper middle?
No doubt the upper hive is just enjoying their cocktails whilst watching the show beneath them
Upper
The highest part of the hive city we visited is the throne side right
Some of it
yeah throneside is middle-point
Yeah, part of it, but it looks mostly locked down there
Jesus christ the upgrade compared to the lower point
the announcers say as much
If that's the middle point i can't imagine the high point
The best part of a hive to live if one has money
Must be so fancy i will burn my eyes
just gaudy
Would be nice to join chaos just to burn that place down
Makes one wonder why we're fighting for them
Because if we don't we will get shot in the head
Fair enough
or probably suffer a worst fate
fighting for the warband, for the good of the imperiun! For the Throne! For Terra! For the EMPRAH!
Probably become one of the many medicae servitors
deserting isn't an option, regardless
like where would we go, into the chemical wasteland outside the hive?
Story of humanity innit
bowels of the underhive?
Yeah so surprised loose cannon was able to escape with his life talking about something like that
Maybe papa nurgle's forces might have an opening
Like they are openly listening to us
Some people do make a living in those area
Or the toxic wasteland seems better
not us
I forgot what story it was, but I remember a penal legionnaire squad wanted to go AWOL during a tyranid invasion and their leader was like, ok yeah, you're 100% gonna die doing that, alone, defensless
So it's either die, or die, then
wrt loose cannon: i don't think they care if borderline penal legion guardsmen talk about deserting as long as it stays just talk
well, stay and fight and possibly win, or run away and 100% die
Yeah it's still shown that he cares about people to some degree
like ya ain't gonna find a safer place in a tyranid invasion than a well fortified gun line
Jokes on the universe our characters are named (ish)
Yeah that's pretty true too
And I mean most of the crew is pretty skilled
Is "Mutie" slang or is it actually the way they call it?
The veteran isn’t just a normal soldier
Slang
slang for mutant
Yeah but you also need to count your blessings because that gun line hopefully can withstand assault from monsters that tear open a tank with their bare hands
And no doubt one or more of the crew will "persuade" (shoot or chainsaw) any potential deserters to stay and fight
mm ok
lucky for us it's not tyranids
better there than hiding alone somewhere lol
Or we're all really screwed
Our teams also do well because we fight scrappy
Yep
None of that stand your ground shit
Hardly anyone ever survives the nids
Our teams are rejects
They consume every single biological life on a planet
well, my teams usually do well because smite can carry the worst teams as long as they know how to shoot a target 5 feet away from them
And can effectively corral dangerous targets
So if you somehow survived an invasion you must be some kind of man of god with enough blessings and even the space marines revere you
Yeah but like when a beast appears with a horde elite squad and a couple specials
Your scrappy hit and run fighting helps
Or just extremely Extremely lucky
or the navy showed up and won the fight in space
Nah we sitting this one out, let those two fight
depends on the scale
This is true
Nurgle infections can outright stay on the planet with tyranids most of the time they will leave
The planet a barren wasteland
there is a scale of tyranid invasion that can't be beaten, and there's a scale of daemonic incursion that can't be resisted
What's worse between the two
both, neither
Chaos I guess
no real difference
probably nids? If you fall to Nurgle they're generally pretty happy
In the end the guardsman fighting that is gonna die screaming
Like in both you'll die then at least with Tyr then it's ended
I'd say chaos because the biological weaponry of the death guard is extremely effective
The diseases and viruses they can throw at you are very disgusting and very very painful
don't the nids have projetiles that are lil flesh eating worms?
Are they that potent that not even CBRN equipment can handle it?
CBRN?
Chemical, Biological, Radioactive, Nuclear
so like your HAZMAT, MOPP suits n shit
Yeah but death guard straight up turn planets into uninhabitable war zones, tyranids at least you can at least introduce new things the planet to terraform it into a new place
After all the only did kill biological life
i mean the issue is that the vector for infection is the big stab wound in your gut
So introducing some few plants and some new water and you're good to go
Maybe have to wait a couple of 1 billion years but you know
Restorable
most kinds of power armour will protect you from chemical/biological warfare in 40k, given that they are environmentally sealed
unless you're one of the idiots who don't put their helmet on
But up against Nurgle, the thing about Nurgle - the disease it offers aren't like standard diseases
Space wolves am i right
still dead
Busy with constipation on the golden throne
I'm pretty sure he doesn't even have one anymore
Imperial taco bell be like that
corpse starch taco
Let didn’t his conversation with Guilliman go BAD
Like omg my father isn’t ok kind of bad?
the emperor was never ok
i mean he's more unstable now
but he wasn't exactly sane before
veteran
should get a sentinel as one of his capstones
So if you guys were a commander for a chaos army, how would you conquer an imperial world?
Drop a black stone fortress on it
Well... that's one way
It's how Abaddon won after getting his ass kicked at Cadia lol
Well the job is to destroy the imperium so chaos can win no?
Fuck conquering
Higher ranking chaos members just return to the warp lol
Daemons
So here’s a thought
Cause enough damage to the fabric of reality
To start summoning daemons
And sick them on the enemy
Cadia was a Phyric win for Chaos
Couldn’t they just run around it
That’s like killing a god
Unclean
I meant
Piracy then starting cults in the Hives
it's a toxic fart expelling machine
You don’t get the you’ll melt alive part
That mf has tiny eyes
Magic my ass
Herald are the highest a small group could in theory face
Can’t aim that shit
But couldn’t you be far enough away
Your flesh will decay your armor melt
And just keep running away from it while shooting?
You’d prolly still be horrifically sick
And also daemons
Don’t care about guns
Good plan, I would exploit the subject misery of imperial life
you basically have to be a blank, psyker, or greyknignt to stand a chance against a greater chaos deamon
You need to get up close and personal
If you aren’t a Psyker
And even if you are a psyker
Awwww
Getting up close and personal is the easiest way to kill it
But they are FAT
Probably use warp dickery to mess with people's minds
Also great unclean ones aren’t that slow
I can outrun one
That mf is at least not sprinting
Dude, great unclean ones are huge
was it? they divided the entire galaxy in half off of that w
Their swords literally ignore armor
I’ll violate his mother
It'll be like out running Godzilla...you just can't

it'll also have a legion of minions you probably can't outrun
Nurglings would probably be much more slower and crueler
if total warhammer 3 is anything to go by, most humans can outrun most daemons of nurgle
So it's a win. Just costly
You’ll die of some horrific sickness
Yeah but those little bastards are FAST
even if you kill a daemon it'll just go back to the warp and rejuvinate unless you give it a true death with ungodly rare weapons
Rather fight Slaanesh or Tzeentch, at least they make it fun
Total warhammer 3 also has treemen dying to normal ass great swords potentially so I don’t take the game mechanics as canon
A unclean one literally loses to a ranged chariot

or humans of fantasy are much stronger
I mean they're using magic, so ....
A greater daemon in fantasy usually means a world is gona end
In fantasy it’s likes really fucking shit
But like the world isn’t gona end bcs Kairos shows up
I mean
Kairos can’t single handidly
End a world in fantasy
He can in 40K lol
A greater daemon showing up in 40K is like
End of the world scenario normally
yeah but fantasy has people like gotrek and teclis
Yeah but it also has Nagash
Also the warp and realm of chaos isn’t the same
They’re 2 different settings
Fundamentally
So like a mild inconvenience could be the end of the world
With Nagash around
Dickhead
Yeah but he is still an ASSHOLE
He doesn’t want to end the world
Technically
Just enslave everyone and take it over
💀
TECHNICALLY
he just wants to end it on his terms
MY POINT
Lol
doesn't like the chaos end
Fuck that guy
At least Skaven are up front about being little shits
Like they are funnily like the most honest race in fantasy
Because they straight up admit they are definitely gonna betray you
That’s because the stereotype of Skaven is literally always true
As well

Thank you great horned rat
they don't admit shit
I fucking love Skaven
Also this
I’m sorry
They lie a ton
I just do
You just assume they’re lying because they probably are
Their existence admits everything
skaven will tell you he's still on your side while his knife is in your back
I just ADORE them
i think they are fantastic villains
I wouldn’t trust one
But he is the one I understand the most
And they do it well
So you’d stab your brother to death while saying you’re helping him
they represent an aspect of chaos sadly absent from 40k
Like a Skaven is someone which I KNOW what he is gonna do
Literal chaos?
Or the chronic backstabbing part
no, skaven
No
just, skaven
I’m just saying at least they are pretty upfront with their existence as a bunch of fucking, LITERAL rats
Lol
Mmmmmm
Probably not
They can fit in
I LOVE Skaven to my core
They just have to make them
But
skaven infesting an underhive would be so cool
And we already have Trayzen for that
also if they put skaven in 40k we could have more vermintide crossovers
Being some random ass human learning about giant rat men being real
Who are armed with literal nukes and laser cannons
skaven perspectives are also goofy
Is not great
True
i've read a lot of gotrek and felix, the skaven characters piss themselves a LOT
They are literally cowards
The skarbrand incident
Born

Didn’t he like show up by accident because of a Skaven sorcerer
And then caused mayhem
And said he liked the Skaven now
Said “hey summon me again sometime lil homie”
being a skaven sounds awful, being enslaved by the skaven sounds awful, but observing them in any capacity makes their goofyness immediately obvious
Don’t forget they are still a HORRIFIC faction
anyway what the fuck were we talking about
To a pretty violent degree
They are incredibly grim dark
They just make good comic relief
oh right, i wanted to mention another weird thing about chaos
there's no god of fear
Just not enough presence in the warp especially after the other four emerged
It’s VERY primordial
fear's gotta be a very common emotion in that universe
As a concept
More than anger violence, despair, change, and indulgence?
yeah absolutely
Maybe more than Slaanesh
But I’d say the other three are pretty above fear in terms of primordial presence
Didn’t Corvax use fear as his channeling emotion?
Raptor god
For his raven form?
the eldar were literally custom made so that their faith would create gods in the warp that were marginally more chill than the (at the time) big 3
What does the raptor god even stand for?
Fear
but then they oopsied a 4th one into existence instead
Mostly
I think he means the name
We don’t really know beyond that
What it means
Fear
Speed
Oh
Explains alot
It’s the god the Raptors/Warptalons worship
What it is we have no clue
They don’t talk about it
raptors are birds of prey
So the patron god of the chaos raptor marines
Fear is an odd one
There are plenty of minor Chaos gods
It also doesn’t mind them taking blessings from other gods as well
But I think for everyone but Slaanesh it works
Most are not well understood though
Yeah
Technology especially now makes sense there could become a fifth
The Raptors and Warptalons are very insular
about their chaos god
They don’t share information lol
And no one wants to ask them either because they’re weird
Do you think they will actually pull the trigger on what’s his name becoming the fifth?
nobody wants to talk to chaos marines in general
That’s a MASSIVE decision
Malice ?
Vashtor ?
Apparently Vashtor is REALLY close to becoming a major god
vashtorr
He probably won't
That’s what I think too
He'll stay a Minor Chaos Gods
I would say he has a good chance at being close

Technology is REALLY prevalent now
he'll only be a major god if he brings something to the table(top)
He already brings something technically
All the daemon engines
From the forge of souls
something new
So yeah nothing
Dark mechanicus expansion, lots of new lore, new daemons, etc
Dark mechanicus doesn’t worship him
THEY DON’T
And vashtor explicitly doesn’t like making daemons
FUCKING WHAT?
vashtorr is pretty new, the mechanicum is pretty old
Ok definitely not then
Vashtorr is not seen as the omnissiah
Nothing interesting enough
Yeah no
But like
His big thing is just being a literal daemonic arms dealer
Too much work for not enough narrative payback
Yeah
by sticking them in an engine
Vashtorr getting jumped by Belakor was funny
i really wish we'd get to see more of the warp
Fucking Belakor
the immaterium
Belakor is such a little shit
he's fine
Bro does nothing and then shows up to cause literal chaos
And then dips
Actual shitheel activity
I love him
i bet my psyker could kill him
But my god he is such a little goblin
Tbf most of it is uninhabitable for a human, it’s just the gods specific pocket realms that are
And we’ve seen like the big 4’s
which are pretty much just the realms of chaos from fantasy
i remember reading something about kroot traversing the warp on foot
but i went looking for it again the other night and couldn't find it
