Hammer and bolter sucks ass, but not even something that bad can ruin trazyn the gigachad
This is the only clip I could find of him from Hammer and Bolter
Where he said more than one word
The Battlefleet Gothic version is much better
Also has one of the best orks cinematics ever
God I love this part
you should see the intro bit with the ork sea shanty
before Spire's narration comes in, its great
Bro I love that
The one where they ram the imperial ship or the one where they ram each other
The one where they ran each other is from two I think
This one is from 1
The video above is the imperial ship one
Nah it isnt
its the ork introductory cutscene for BFG1
The Green tide has risen! Taken from the BFG: Armada Singleplayer Campaign. This game is amazing, everyone should go play it!
Thank you for watching my video, glory to the Emperor and the Imperium of Mankind!

I regard this as one of the best pieces of ork media to ever exist
Its super good
Battle fleet gothic armada in general
a lot better than BFG2's ork intro
Kinda here and there
The second ones aren’t nearly as good
That one was very ******* dry bones
The visuals in the second one are really good
The first one is just full of love
Is the current hammer and bolter stuff much better now
But I like the Eldar, Ork and Imperium intros
Like compared to before
For the first one
The intros for the first one have personality
First one benefits from having artwork done for the cutscenes, where they do the TTS thing of moving pngs across it in a studio level production.
second is almost ENTIRELY game cutscenes
Second one is a bit toned down
Still the same
H&B is very mid i ngeneral
I do love the style
I coulda sworn they made something different
Or something on Warhammer+ was good
The eldar opening cutscene in 2 is really good tho
legit great
Pariah Nexus
Is in it which is fun
Dude
that cutscene gives me chills each time
that scream of her birth is horrific
lmao
It makes my spine tingle
YEP
Oh yeah, bruh I thought Hammer and bolter was all of Warhammer+
Unless you want the vault content
Which is just
Old campaign and rule Books lol
Or white dwarfs
I'm gonna sleep unless they do lumineth or white scars stuff
Uhh
you forgot
how they edited out the rules
"to protect the sanctity of warhammer"
whatever the fuck that means???
Yeah idfk
Probably because it was like the Internet equivalent of the line outside salty spitoon was at gw HQ in Nottingham
Lmaooo
Lmao
The loremasters of gw
the orks never getting a campaign in BFG2 was a tragedy
They should have gotten one
Fucks sake nids got one even if the only real unique dialogue was from the narrator lady
Even on the first one you can only play them on custom matches
Wtf
In the campaign lol
BFG3 was also gonna get made btw
They literally got boiled down to a mechanic on the first one
Even though they were dlc in 1st game multiplayer
They’re in 2
same studio?
Oh ok
Makes sense sadly
I have an studio artist friend that worked on BFG2, basically the deal was they were approved to work on a 3rd game, same studio
but
GW came in and said
Eldar could have had weird mechanics like Necrons with webway gates
Rip
Bruh
lol
So yeah uh that kinda instantly killed it
Ain’t no way lol
BFG is niche as fuck
Tragedy
Someone just make a craft world model and input it into the game it's just bigger than the entire map
Just all of the open space
I'd play that though like a hybrid land and air
In BFGA2
Sad
Like TF2 payload mission
Lol
Not really I'm just being dumb
Huh
do space marines pee
no
Yes
No
no

How do you pee without your genitals
They still have them
this has caused more controversy than i expected
all ill say is
A long time ago in a novel, a Space Marine berated a mortal by saying "we can survive on our own reconstituted waste for months" ...

DEATH
Tbh
It’s decently far away
During the actual like fight
You’re above the whole thing
Yeah craftworlds can sometimes be basically elongated planets when it comes to size.
Pour one out to the istvaan V survivors living off of their own pee they suffered
I remember that episode of Better Call Saul
where Battle-Brother Mike had to travel the desert with Remembrancer Slippin' Jimmy
good show btw
GW should come out with a cookbook for Warhammer but it's like AoS kharadon cookbook and 40k ork cookbook
I wanna make a squig pie
Honestly a lot of successful IPs have no idea how much in-universe cookbooks would sell
Release instructions for fungus beer that could just kill you
mmmm shrooms
Grave robbers are eating good if they get to the page with corpse starch.
shrooms?
I want an official runeterra cookbook from Riot
They just need to put a lot of recipes in there that are actually good
I've had alligator and since Grox is reptillian I just compare it to that.
Grox aparantly is like a red meat
Like kharadron coded cookbook of the realms
A grox is basically a crocodile-cow yeah
i ate croc once
Crowcadile
tastes like salty chicken
Oh cool I had steak the othernight. So yeah, grox steak
it's chewy

Oh that
its literally just to imply
"ooo mcguffin key that unlocks chapter relics" etc
just fancy medieval decor-trinket more or less
i thought it was like a reference or something
or to my cupboard
lol

Nah its literally just a generic-ass key
tho speaking of weird details
I love how they added uh
power-field generator lines on the back
never knew that
Fun fact there's a ton of tiny scarabs
inside the Silent kings like
giant shields
Wait
you will almost certianly never see them
They're energy shield generators
thingy
but there's like 6 or 7 scarabs in each one
enhance
ofc the silent king is on a Dias lol
rattle em boys
POV: Dilara and the Lore chat regulars
that makes me think of Mazdamundi in TWW2 when you unlock his mount lol
yeah warhammer has a lot of "big guy on dias"
A lot of necron players would be happy lol
any scarabs are always welcome
They love scarabs for basing + actual units lol

goofy goobers
I love it when people call something that can tear apart a human a goofy goober
just a Slann with his Dias on the back of a triceratops with 2 skink blowgunners flanking him lol
Thats what they are to higher ranking necron and crypteks tbf
Scarabs are also basically your SIRI if she could float around and kill people.
Yeah
more or less basically builders/attackers
or in layman's terms just a tiny robot-bug
very good at noming space marines
Tasty tasty matter
but the scarabs ignore them lmao
scarabs my beloved
LMAO
the fact this is a real box is still funny to me
Oh my god
Most unbalanced fucking box ever lol
that fucking thing
which one?
?
the box lmao
back when Mechanicus the game was coming out too iirc
might have been like a hopbotch attempt to make it meet its release
for like marketing reasons
are those knights?
Yeah the funniest part is they are the SMALLEST knights too
i thought they were a type of castellan robot
squire ones iirc
the sides are about equal ironically
nah the biggest Automata the mechanicus uses commonly is the thanatar
I love the FW version of the small knights where the have like gigantic claws weird faces and OP guns
my favorite necron pitbull the Canoptek Wraith
But these aren't your everyday pitties, this pittie heroically jumped in through the window of a burning building to heroically, bite one last child
They phased through 20 walls to maul a toddler
what a hero
also this comically undersized tomb sentinel
skitarii are just great in general
I'm not sure why its so small
I want a sci Fi version of the crane gunners in Cathay where it's one huge gun and a shield held by someone else
but its funny to me
Distance and angle imo
True
but it deffo should be a bit bigger
its a very cool piece of art
always good seeing FW minis too so
ngl im shocked 40k doesnt have that already lol
out of all the MTG arts for 40k this one is prolly my favorite
The arquebus is the closest example
the creativity behind it is what makes it imo
yeah
watching them get torn apart in brutal cunning because of amazingly bad leadership from computers that's supposed to adjust the tactics according to situation it's quite sad
Editing that to say something stupid like fortnite
yeah thats what you get when your skitarii are netirely automated
Skill issue tbh, should have had a better tech priest
^
Skitarii can be normal troopers with human thought ye lol
Mindslaved skitarii usually don't go well metallica
the imperium calling chaos skill issue after the guardsman did a sick 360
cant the techpriests do like Harbinger did with the collectors?
just take over one of the skitarii commanders from like a ship in orbit
lol
the commander usually just relays orders
aside from when in a veteran cohort because then the sktarii are just allowed to do whatever the fuck they want
so its just full on "assuming direct control"
Yeah
but skitarii veteran cohorts are weird
mostly since the tech priests have no real input on what they do
beyond just general mission objectives
so they just get told what to do when fuck off to do it?
yeah
there might be some tech priests along with them
but the skitarii do everything on their own lol
With marshals and alphas giving orders
alphas are like the squad leaders right?
Yeah
What faction
space marine
normal single unit box so arojnd 60$
you like plasma?
not really
nvm then
should i buy the nerf blasters coming out
damn
You mean the space marine flash gitz?
hahaaha i was freaking out about the prices until i noticed i was on australia mode
LOL
yes
Their guns are just too ugly
It's the way of construction is so out of place for the imperium
actually wait
them the ones with the idiot rifle missile launchers?
what minis do you own already @crystal forum
yes
Oh
Those guys look cool.
they're always nice to have
Since they can grab objectives and then start running
I like the ones with the line visor but they all have exposed hair
alright im getting basic bitches
or wait
shuld i get the plasma
which is better?
Melta
Plasma is for killing a lot more stuff, intercessors are for snagging objectives and taking potshots
i do enjoy killing
gaaah so hard to decide
i'll coin flip
tails for interc
plasma it is
get 1-3 ssquads of intercessors if your doiung it don't get just a squad since they are jut a battleline unit max is i believe 6 total. but they only have objective secure unlike heavy intercessor who are fair more toughner to take down tough it does depend on your regular opptents like tau or nids are not really going to notice th heavy intercessors but they cost more in both points and real life $$. if anything would go with wait till codex to see if there is any change to battle line units cuase if so then something maybe well worth it comapred to basic units
Get 5 baneblades
about 2.3k point right there
You can split intercessors into two squads of 5
10 mans are bad because of blast
Why would you launch a drop pod with a Missile battery
Instead of just dropping a bomb ?
The only reason I can see for this being useful is if you need to deploy a quick defensive position in a rather dangerous area
Even then I'm pretty sure you could just drop in turrets
Missles can have guidance systems and could lock onto priority targets behind enemy lines. Maybe the drop pod has the targeting information or something
Also the pods could be outfitted with a variety of munitions, which allows greater flexibility
Its mostly to clear landing zones before the marines drop in
its a very dumbass idea but its 40k so
Fair
The classic trait of the imperium is wasting the resources to make incredibly wasteful weaponry, they just do it out of the fact that to flex on the enemy
🙏
Well* it`s a whole nature of the Imperium
so does the treaty joining terra and mars have a name?
Treaty of Mars/Olympus Mons
neat
I wish I could have a Lego set for this to build.
clear out area where beakies plan to land
Scarabs
mindshackle scarabs
Get a girlfriend
That guy can't even be a decent father why would he even try to have a relationship
because all shit fathers do
should have paid his child support
They are pretty much almost microsopic
so you are fucked either way

This is my number 2 reason for liking this series
Watching Kriegers die brings me joy

Because you can only drop a bomb once, but you can drop this and blitz and entire area.
As I said before
Its a dumb thing that only sounds cool on paper
Y’all really dont need to attempt to justify it

Yeah it's more efficient to just drop in armored support vehicles with the infantry
All right then
Injects a man with enough drugs to send him into a bloody rage in and forcefully strap him with chains on the drop pod
Horns, wings
Looks like one of these but upgraded with missiles instead of mines. Cool.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/XM1100_Scorpion
The XM1100 Scorpion, formerly known as the Intelligent Munitions System, was an anti-vehicle, smart ground munition developed by Textron Defense Systems as a safer alternative to traditional landmines. The Scorpion was originally a component of the Future Combat Systems program. It was a remotely controlled, integrated system of lethal and non-l...
Basically anything that shows beauty
Yes the other chaos god's use these features as well but
Slannesh is very popular on making those look very fancy
I mean you can do something like chimera
Azazel?
I think so
Ye
Yeah, the hard part with making slaanesh is balancing beauty with disturbance
You need to find the way to make it look off putting and beautiful at the same time
It could be argued that something sufficiently "pretty" could be off putting
Fax
Something way too perfect is horrifying in its own right
I'm probably going to go slightly-mutated knight lady, as far as themes go
Gonna take some inspo from Hedonite models mayhaps
Oooh that would be something
Look at the Age of Sigmar slaanesh models
Any animals that are associated with excess and sin
lots of hellraiser visuals etc

Hmmm
I'll need to look into that
It's more for loose inspiration since this is mainly just an excuse to draw more feimine stuff
Lots of ant eater like looks
i dont know any animals with those associations bar the snake lol
Goats, certain bugs, snakes, etc
why doves of all things?
arent they symbols of peace and hope?
main, people really really didnt know jack shit about animals when they made these associations did they
Also Pride
Doves are just pigeons, they aren't really anything else than flying mouses (rats would be Seaguls)
true
Goats/Bugs/Reptiles make more sense
because people associate them with "evil" and the first sin like Eve eating the apple after being tempted, or goats being associated with the devil/lust etc
its why horns on demons in media is a big thing
i never heard of this before. interesting concept
like why are goats associated with the devil when the soul devouring hellspawn that are otters exist?
When Christianity was sweeping across Europe, one major tactic it used in converting pagans was to get them to convert by adopting parts of their pagan heritage, then demonising the rest to ensure they never went back to their old ways. The Greek god Pan ended up being a major scapegoat (excuse the pun) and became the common depiction of Satan in early medieval artwork. Then we have the Goat of Mendes. It was a greek symbol based on an ancient Egyptian god (named Ba, no puns) linked to the soul and the afterlife, and for various reasons it stuck around as a common occult symbol. Occultism is automatically considered Satanic by many Christians.
In the 1800s, a man named Eliphas Levi cemented it. He drew on depictions of the Goat of Mendes to do a drawing called "Baphomet," which was a fictional god some people invented to frame the Knights Templar for "devil worship" a few centuries earlier. His drawing of Baphomet became infamous, and Baphomet had always been linked with, or possibly a stand-in for, Satan. That was really it for goats from then on, and any depiction of a goat-headed demon really draws on Levi's depiction.
In the 1960s, the Church of Satan adopted Baphomet and the goat-head imagery as part of their official emblem, just as one final nail in the coffin for goats.
i thought goats were associated with paganism and we all know how much christians hate that
wait otters are cool wtf
Women, truly the greatest evil
its a joke because north american river otters are hella territorial and will chase you a long ways if you get to close to their territory
and they can easily shred your tendons if they get a good bite in
Dolphin are worse than Otters. Otters are cute at least
nope
have you seen those south american otters though
those are what nightmares are made of
nope
nah they're way cuter
Eurasian otters are the cutest
they're like water weasels
ah i see. very distinguished fellows
River otter
But dolphins know how to have fun
They get high off of blowfish and turn those puffers to bongs
Do we have any record of what chaos entities whisper to psykers when they hear voices? I imagine there's generic stuff like "kill them..." "the emperor has forsaken you..." "we are your only friends..." etc but very keen to learn of actual utterances
Prolly just some random daemon
Or warp creature messing with their head
I’d assume a nurgle one based on tertiums corruption
But it could be anything technically
Sorry I know it's daemons/warp homies but interested in the contents of what they say
One of them kept trying to sell me an extended warranty on my Chimera
What side of the great rift is Tertium on?
by the check of it the nasty side, on the other side is the nastier side. given the fact that the astropathic hail was heard and we are here then i assume it on the the closer to terra not the dead zone or nihlius side
Sanctus, the side where you can still see the astronomicon
It's left unclear to be mysterious
How very '40k novel' of them :P Thanks! I did go searching but wasn't sure if I just wasn't looking hard enough
Does Imperial Guard possess the secret of tactical nuke? Like, satchel charge with power yield of 1-5 kiloton, or let's say, artillery shell with nuclear warhead and power yield around 15-20 kiloton. Well, those funny things, IRL humans created in M1, 960-s. In all Guard related books I never recall them use anything but "just explosives" in their artillery shells.
The link to the bombs aircraft carry
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Shell and for the artillery shells
Shells are explosive munitions used by a variety of forces across the Galaxy.[1]
Looks like the magic to put ~1 Hirosima into the 6-inch shell is forever lost in time.
yeah it called somehow getting your hands on a Vortex Grenade. or Vortex Boltgun shells (FF DW RPG).
It is way more technologically complex and unpredictable because warp-reliance. I speak about trivial tech which people created in the second half of 20th century and which demands way less technological expertise from the producing party - judging by the fact how technobarbarians of Terra during Long Night glassed the hell out of it.
Like a lot of situations in the books where Guard acts and they have artillery, would have been way less dramatic if they could fire the tactical nuclear shell in the certain target. Like, during Plague Wars it should have been must have thing to use against nurglite forces.
And nukes are still nukes.
Radiation is also a thing, and whats stopping Nurglite forces from developing resistance to rads

Also widespread nuclear weapon usage is still a bad thing
even in 40k
That and not every guard regiment has access to this shit
When we talk about conventional tac-nuke shell, radiation is secondary harm factor. Main is the ball of superheat plasma and the blast wave. I saw the "rad shell" in the list and I assume it is the Davy Crokett warhead in the form of artillery shell - this is indeed mainly radiological weapon first.
Yeah trying to use radiation poisoning on something that loves being poisoned isn't exactly a smart idea
You are putting way too much thought into this
BL authors dont know anything about how wars are fought
so this is like the last thing on their mind
Brother calm down don't put too much thought into this there is a gun that lets you shoot literal f****** gravity in this setting
If you do these how will you get John McBadass the Guardsman charge and kill a plague marine
and so on
Yeah like any conventional form of warfare in 40k in general is just not usually done
unless its like the tau
Clearing rad waste is still easier than cleaning Nurgle shit.
Its really not
Both are equally bad lol
Unless you are like admech
which a good portion of Ultramar was not
Kind of
Nurgle disease is also conceptual because warp-fuckery.
and radiation is still radiation
Rad is not. Pure physics.
i mean. radiation doesnt corrupt your soul and make you into a daemon controlled zombie lol
Yeah but the imperium also uses warp fuckery to heal things
this
...its still radiation though
like its not a good solution
at all
you may as well spam virus bombs
like yeah its bad but likely much easier to make protective gear for
makes about as much sense
My brother in christ this is not fallout radiation is radiation
^
Theres a fuck ton of problem with just mini-nuke spamming half of Ultramar
firstly it would never be allowed, its a massive population center for a lot of things
secondly you may as well go do door to door purges instead
a nuke of any size or effect is just a shit idea
This is up there with McArthur saying we should nuke the korean border with 35 bombs
and that will teach the chinese to not atack
and you know
not think about ANY of the aftermath

But noone speaks about salted bombs or other types of radiation weapons. Proper tactical thermonuclear shell is quite "clean" weapon. Relatively.
Because why use them when you got armies and other resources
you are applying way too much logic into the Imperial war machine
McArthur never gave a fuck about anything but his own glory lol. he would have fit right in as a general in the guard
any proposal you make will get counter-proposed by another general and so on
Ok so this is
Kaptin Badrukk and this is a line explaining his weapon
A lead-lined greatcoat protects Badrukk from the deadly radiation generated by his most beloved weapon, Da Rippa, a Shoota so dangerous that merely standing near it when it is fired is essentially a death sentence by radiation poisoning. The weapon once belonged to the Ogryn bodyguard of an Imperial Sub-sector Governor and the Kaptin has modified it to fire unstable plasma canisters instead of high-calibre slugs so that each detonates with all the heat and radioactive force of a small star
this isnt suppose to be a properly functioning military
Pretty much lol
fucking nutcase and sociopath
Badrukk is an ork
So even they have problem with radiation how do you think a human would react
nukes only sound good on paper to those who dont understand nukes
They are last resort weapons for a reason
Theres way too many dominoes to take into effect to using them, even in 40k
there is a reason they where only ever used twice in all of history and those 2 where little more than firecrackers next to the later generations
I recall the scene of siege of one of last footholds on one planet where Nurgle played his sabotage scheme, turning it into infested swamp shithole - and the Death guard builds the dam to cross the channel and invade the city. One single nuclear shell would have solved the problem and won Imperials quite a lot of time.
they where only mass produced due to the disadvantage NATO had verse the red army. we needed a line of scarecrows because we where so outnumbered we could never hold off a full on soviet assult
Thats the Siege, where it was literally hell on earth
Won't that nuke level the city
also like
The damage they cause you really just makes them useful for desperate situations where you really need to get rid of the enemy, but the scale of battles you may as well just resort to exterminatus
Like
you really assume way too much that other imperial commanders will allow you to do this
It's not like guard don't use anything of the sort
^
No. Tac nuke shell is around 1 Hirosima. Can be tuned to be less. Not every nuke is 50 Megaton Tzar-bomb.
And again no offense but "A nuke would have solved this issue"
is literally just McArthur as fuck
The Deathstrike Missile Launcher is an Imperial Guard artillery vehicle based on the Chimera chassis. Its ability to fire a massive payload over extreme ranges is the Deathstrike's main advantage over other artillery systems. Only ever seeing deployment during the most vicious battles, each Deathstrike missile launcher is a force multiplier whos...
aka not thinking any of the after effects
or you not having the authority to do this lol
Also in warhammer throwing a nuclear bomb at your problem is usually not enough to solve it
pretty much
What after effects? Planet is already a shithole besieged by literal demons of infection.
Its Terra
said call full on got him sacked lol
for starters lol
Considering the scale of attacks a normal faction warband can do which is usually enough to take over an entire
Iaks, if I recall that right. Not Terra. Plague wars and such.
Planet
You said the Siege so thats what Im assuming
You will need a lot of nuclear bombs but with the amount of nuclear bombs you will need you will send the planet into a radiation wasteland
either way again, you got like 4 people here already arguing that its a shit idea
now imagine proposing this at a war council
im sure they'll happily let you use them instead of any other resources the guard has
like i dont know
This
If the planet is already fucked, you wouldn't really use valuable stuff to save Jim bob and his serf family
And this is warhammer you may as well exterminatus the planet with how massive the scales of battles are in the setting
In the scale of whole planet tac nuke is nothing. But on the tactical scale it can prety well tip the things. If Guard utilized proper nuke shells, enemy could pretty well forget about zerg-rush tactics and concetration in the certain radius because that would be literally asking for said nuke shell to be dropped on their heads.
A deathstrike which is basically a massive missle-bomb already requires authorizaton to be used
nuclear shells would be even higher than that
Not everyone has access to these things, this is literally just a "easier said than done" situation
💀
But as the setting is built around idiocy of melee fighting... Well, we are here.
I also kinda doubt a nuke will really stop the unending shambling hordes of hell, so banking on it isn't the best
Or you know
Because Deathstrike is the ICBM. INTERCONTINENTAL weapon, and judging by its size, it pretty well may carry a 50-100 Megaton warhead.
Doesnt make any difference
a nuke is a nuke
just AAAA
Also that too
The Risk a nuke would bring on the mission you're trying to probably do is already pretty high
And also most times the imperium tries to take something back and tries to defense something
THIS is the most critical point.
So a nuke, which is designed to annihilate surroundings is not the best idea
its the same reason the Imperium doesnt utilize orbital bombardments that much
almost half the battles the Imperium fights are re-capturing campaigns
afaik the guard is built around static fighting. they take a point, hold it for a time, advance to a new one. rinse repeat untill the world is taken
I feel like I'm watching an r/40klore thread spiral out of control
No, it isn't. Tactical artillery shell is 15 Kiloton power. Just "very powerful shell" and "not advise to live in that particular area of blast in the next 50 years" but nothing more. In the Warhammer scale of things it is surprisingly moderate weapon which is something I would absolutely expect Imperium to use on regular basis just to "remove that group of enemies".
And yet nukes are still not that widely used
because its destructive and too harmful to an area lol
No, because most BL authors are morons.
If you want to deal with fortifications use a bane sword
Or because nuclear warfare is boring
yeah the "not live in the ares for 50 years" is something the imperium would want to avoid
and nobody wants to read about it
They're writing a funny dramatic story, not a treatise on modern warfare
they want the world back up and producing things ASAP
talking getting a factory back up the day its taken
Okay sure go homebrew a guard regiment that uses crockets then idfk
I speak about range of km or two. Hive worlds literally have huge wastes of nothingness outside said hives - who cares about that? Humans already can't live there.
Because not every battle takes place in hives
^
and is usually in massive population centers
Also you're making the planet which is designed to support life even worse
^
I know the conditions unfavorable but i won't add extra radiation to the suffering
Armageddon? Could literally shell orks in the planes like it is no tomorrow.
"Nuke the hive, that will get rid of the cultists"
What are you gonna do when the orks reach the walls
and are literaly endless in number
and that they can shrug off almost all their losses because they are an inhuman enemy
They can also just teleport inside
They did, for the most part
But uh
Roks
Hive is arcology. Self-sustainable.
also Armageddon is a special case
Yeah Orks drop literal meteors before engaging
Is that why they are all falling apart
and people are literally sifting through shit to eat stuff
And that is why proper tactical shell barrgae should have happened before that moment.
You can't shoot that out of the sky unless you have a particularly big gun
And again
the Imperial guard doesnt have good leaders

you also suggesting something like this could as easily get you shot
or removed
even then all you get is a giant ass meteor shower that likely still has a lot of orks or atleast their spores
What’s the topic of whole conversation?
Yeah the split-off fragments would hit other places still
I mean fighting wise people did fine, the orks just have a tendency to come in actual meteor showers via hijacked asteroids
Someone suggesting that the use of a nuclear bomb in 40k is justifiable even though it's very bad
Use of tactical nuclear shells (15 Kiloton more or less) by the Imperial Guard or lack of such despite it would have been quite practical.
Also they will not hesitate to literally divebomb their spacecraft directly into the planets crust
^
nukes werent exactly a big part of either
unless you count ending it with a plane flyby
which you know 99% of the war didnt have
Good you nuked enemy positions where you would entrench and how you would traverse this terrain?
Like radiation is a thing
And you don’t all of your tanks and IFV to be radioactive
the only hope to stop the orks from infesting your world is to destroy all their ships and roks very far away from the planet's atmo/gravity well
Because if they are , they are just a piece of radioactive metal for now
Yeah, i literally told him already that there is an ork that shoots a gun and the radiation of that gun is so bad he has to wear a special coat
I'll add that referring to the fighters as "The Guard" is pretty redundant since they're usually pretty comically not cohesive with like 50 different regiments crammed together without rhyme or reason
Breakthrough point? Send tank spearhead there, exploit the breakthrough, destroy the rear, no? The very same things, which were planned for WW3.
Admech Vanguard MOMENT

Yeah destroying everything above and make sure they don't land
yup
If they are not in ground zero - no, they are not. There is that hidden magic of DESACTIVATION. Like, wash the radioactive dust away and you are good.
Okay so how are you gonna wash it away
what if the teams you send constantly get killed
or harrassed by enemies that arent affected by radiation
and so on
this isnt real life
Breakthrough zone which devasted by nuke okay , it`s takes more time to prepare unit after this and also means that vehicles used in this breakthrough would go out of fight to be deactiveted
^
Deactivation takes time
Like, Mike Tyson's quote about everyone having a plan before they get punched in the face comes to mind
you assume way too much that the imperial warmachine is perfect
Not years, not months. We speak about hours. You have to rotate people from the first line anyway especially vehicles - for maintenance, refuelling, ammo resupply and so on.
Again
btw that plan was never used and we have no idea if that would work. we also dont know how long it would take the radiation from a weapons grade explosion to decay
why are you expecting this to go perfectly
💀
like if this was real life sure maybe
but anything can happen in a warzone in 40k
this is all under the assumption that this will be a "clean" war
all we really have is the Chernobyl explosion and that wasnt a weapons grade plant
and it was still horrific
You can Google how many nuclear tests were conducted. About the part of "how long it would take the radiation from a weapons grade explosion to decay" generals had pretty good idea. That's what were tests for.
fallout reach Scotland
Oh look the nuclear bomb i decided to throw at that position was literally turned into dust because a giant blue chicken decided it would be funny
yeah that too
When why exactly it doesn't turn all the kinetic projectiles into wet noodles? Because why not?
daemons and full on fucking magic exists in 40k
Because it can it's a lord of change
Yes, why fight him then? He would won anyway...
With bare fists?
Oh no how it could happend some funcy guys conducted counter battery fire an destroyed our Artillery Battery supplyed with Nuclear Shells and now part of our 3rd is unusable
where is fun in that. daemons are not beings of reason or understanding
My brother in christ, the place that you decided to target and with a bomb is important for the planet to function
the greater daemons basically do like the doom slayer, they actively nerf themselves to avoid being bored while fighting
👍
@forest orbit @silver pollen You two especially, stop keeping the argument going.
Alright
Yes ma'am
Alright, alright, I bend myself to the higher authority.

good, bow to your queen
Dude 💀
it was a joke :P

Ok buddy calm down before i have to shoot you with a slugga
Your last one

lmao

What has been the longest ship to be stuck in the warp before exiting that was loyal going in and out?
AFAIK admiral spire in a dauntless light cruiser
So 800 or so years
Time in the warp is finicky another case was a shrine world was enveloped by a warp storm where more or less 300 sisters of our martyred lady were left to defend against demons for a few centuries but when celestine, greyfax and black Templar chapter broke though the storm they found out the 300 sisters held for a span of a few weeks to months
yes he was
the intro for the imperial campaign says so
Yea that's the first thought that came into mind
he was also the dude that stopped the 12th black crusade lol
Yea that man was (is) a legend
Abaddon seeing Spire come back after the fall of Cadia be like "will this dude just die already!?"
Lol
Yea the yarrick equivalent in the Imperial navy
Old as he is fervent as grimaldus put it
Um akshully in canon it was ravensburg
🤓
Also the imperium took a much bigger L
But spire is canon bcs he gets mentioned in the 9e rule book
He’s in imperium Nihlus
yeah because 40k games are still canon
majorily due to BL authors writing the plots
i wonder if abaddon can ever truly be stopped
i can't be the only person that thinks 13 black crusades gets a little old
Tbh he got pushed back at vigilus
Even if he killed a fuck ton of people
but he can just regroup back in the warp and try again
like cadia is gone forever and he can keep going
Chaos moment 💀
He lost planet killer
Which is actually not great lol
The flagship of the black legion went up in flames lol
he'll just pull out another black ship and try again
Planet killer was in fact one of a kind
Since it was built out of some daot bullshit in the eye of terror
But chaos will always have the upper hand in warhammer
Only setting where that isn’t true is AoS sorta
Mostly since nagash has a literal infinite army of undead
it's not that i want the imperium to have all the W's
i just want chaos to actually lose for once
Yeah that’s fair
like kaldor draigo could confront abaddon in the warp or something
since he's apparently the only person that can kill a demon for good
Abbadon isn’t a daemon
And any psyker or blank of enough power can permanently kill a daemon
can champions die
It depends
If they’re valuable enough chaos gods say no
I.E kharn and typhus
Typhus almost dies
And nurgle gives him a little pick him up
and lucian
Lucius is the obvious one
i keep getting the name wrong
But typhus almost dies to like 5 grey knights
Before nurgle saves his ass
But GW doesn’t like killing named characters
Especially ones with new minis
at least orks die usually
Which is why it was a suprise they actually killed Kell
And also I forgot someone
But there’s a chaos lord with a mini who just fuckin died lol
They were oldish
GW wanted to retire them?
Nah
is immortality a big draw for chaos followers in 40k like it was for fantasy?
lmao
He got blown up by the guard in the 12th black crusade
Big L tbh
Turns out
Standing around is bad
Against artillery
Kell?
just blown up because he was in the wrong grid box at the wrong time lol
Color sgt. Kell
The one where he spits in Abbadons face?
Lol
Abbadon mkment
💀
wasnt there a fantasy character named kell?
I think so lol
undead beserker i think
Krell ?
Kemmler was the first special character to die in the End Times
Krell i dont remember i think he becomes a bigshot in the Death faction before the world explodes
Arkan killed Kemmler cause said Necro chosed Chaos
He chooses right side in the end

I SAW NECROMUNDA AND I CLAPPED
IT BROKE NEW GROUND
Honestly, outside of Necromunda, I don't really care about 40k
Why the gun mister Enforcer 🚬
Okay , 🔨
After like, the first few chapters this is basically a necromunda book in a different place lmao
It starts really, really, slow and meaningless
But once you get past that
It goes to good old ‘openly terrible person protagonist hates other terrible people’ format
what book is it
Rites of passage
oooh nice
its the best part of the book tbh
Hello scholars of 40k. I have a question. I seem to recall a story about an imperial warship that got lost in the warp and turned into a daemon
as in, the whole ship
became a demon entity
but I cant recall the ships and therefore the stories name
knights have air horns right?
Warhorns yep
Hmmmm
now thats a tricky one, because Im half-sure I remember this story
i wonder if a chaos knight's warhorn sounds different
like a daemonic scream over just the air horn like blare of an imperial one
Honestly that happened a few times, i can think of abour maybe 3 instances something like that happened?
But 2 of it is space marines
Well CSM
I think something like that was in battle fleet book?
Here’s the sources on the demon ship 40k wiki
Battlefleet Gothic - Traitor Fleets: The Vessels of Chaos (Specialty Game), pp. 40-41
Index Chaotica: Terminus Est (Digital Edition), pp. 3-4, 6-11
Veritas Ferrum (Audio Book) by David Annandale
The Damnation of Pyhtos (Novel) by David Annandale
Ruinstorm (Novel) by David Annandale
I didn’t realize there were books about it
Well
Featuring it
ok so i just learned about "deathtrap dungeon"
and its clear a lot of it was used for warhammer fantasy lol
the skaven where nearly just a 1:1 port of the ratmen
Warhammer fantasy predates it
yeah
lol
so yeah deathtrap leant a lot to warhammer

Ian Livingstone's Deathtrap Dungeon was a Fighting Fantasy, ...
i also didnt one of the founders of GW was knighted
funny curveball time
if the Khan ended up on an orc infested world and somehow survived long enough to reach adulthood do you think the orc's would follow him seeing as hes way tougher then any orc boss would be
Khan specifilly cause he go fast and i think the orcs would really like that
