I said this as well
I just
Can’t understand how making an unbeatable character
Or someone who’s just perfect at anything
Would ever be satisfying
I have some prime material ready for review I just don't want to post it here in case someone from another server sees

Also literally doesn't talk about how Perturabo seemingly got a fucking Vaul artifact to forge the sword with
"You are weeeaaak vulcaaan"
Probably answer?
Children
Man no thought was put into this thing
i think people who make OP characters just don't watch a lot of media. you can't make such characters have interesting plot lines because by nature they already have reached the end point of their journey
make them lose their power or something
Oh yeah this art style is the same guy who made my one of my favorite fanmade characters
Beastboss Skarsnagga
Hell, there’s a dreadnought from the heresy, A tech librarian and a fuckin dude with treads who’s only lore is “he’s unflinching”
Honestly, i want bools from genestealer cults perspective
Orniris does some of the best 40K stuff. Shame is a bunch of the people with money to pay him are total shitheads with writing.
Also the lore on this character is extremely badass

It takes a away a really important thing when writing a character imo. Relatability
That's Orniris lol
Even super humans are still human. Idk how you can fuck it up anymore
I can't make relatable characters why did you think i pick orks?
Oh i know
"Paint them blue"
That's why my war boss has a powerful klaw that has the hyperphase blades
can double as a power fist and also has a twin linked shoota
I think some orks can still be relatable. Just in extreme cases
But I mean I got a fella in my warband who’s just been through absolute hell.
And if I just made him absolutely wreck any battle field he goes on
I think it takes away from that
I really liked the kommando nob in the catachan devil book
He was unusually reasonable ork
I liked the orks in that book where they interrogate Makari
I think space marines are best when their humanity shines despite their enormous power.
It’s a major reason I love fallen
They’re some of the most human marines I’ve read about
Doesn’t mean I don’t love a good Calgar massacre tbf
I actually made my own clan of ork specialized in rescue, one of their qualities is that they don't take humans slaves and they find civilians boring to fight and a waste of a good choppa or shoota
Here's a tasting
But damn if I relate more to a dark eldar than your space marine
Ya done something wild
Sigismund was just the poster child. Buri was the real favorite
There's a lot more, and I don't think it gets better
Space marines act bit too much like robots
@storm jungle sorry for the ping but i blame you for this
Stop
Foul

Highly recommend Lions new book
Some of the best space marines I’ve read in a while
Damn iron hands
And their dad
Perty the gorgon
Remember how when
Sigismund just considered the whole religious thing
And slightly went against what dorn wanted
He was immediately disowned?
Have you read the entire thing
Protecting a single system
I love homebrewers man
Multiple STC’s
Was being given his own planet and chapter and independence from the imperium
I was afraid of trying to make my own stuff because i was like they won't fit then i saw orks in warhammer and i just literally straight up
Orks are quite the canvas
Meanwhile my ass is just putting wales in space
Me when I read another well written homebrew
Cause he’s literally me
Yes, i made clan that specifically likes doing dangerous rescue missions and they are a sub klan of the blood axe, i even added that they give their customers free squigs, results may vary
Yay squigs
Not only that they tend to also give the people they rescued their own improvements just like your average pain boy to an average ork, so it's uncommon to see an inquisitor that got asked to be rescued get a new prosthetic arm with a built-in kannon
But the unfortunate part is being saved by my klan is considered shameful and execution is common
So they tend to try their best to keep their patient alive
I had no plans on going to Paris so they may rescue me as much as they wish
Shut it it was a miss input
Alr had to find the most low quality meme I could
Funny coincidence i literally have a ork kratos
Guard chapter?
Guard tanks, look like guard, colored like em
Gork and Mork gotta watch they ass
Funny i actually have another one
Those axes look nice
God damn people really still don't understand they can canonically give power armour to humans too if they want
This is getting out of hand, now there's two of them
i have yet to meet an ork that can survive a battle cannon to the chest
guard rules
Ye
love how my question gets unanswered when some guy chose to pose a picture of of a land raider on the topic of automatic copyright detections.
What was your question
ratio
i'm not just some guy i'm the janitor
It's not important anymore, been having a rough past two days and that was my lore outlet. But I'm gonna move on with myself.
i would have answered but i realized i dont know shit about sororitas
I bet it's the same situation as some space marine chapters. If they're cut off from the imperium then they're doing as best as they can to maintain control
short answer is that if you are in nihilus 90% you are at constant risk of wiping out/corruption/shenanigans
can sororitas even be corrupted
it's weird
rare but not impossible is the best answer for that
is it like how if you've never really been chaos controlled for a bit you can't really fight it properly
The best way of looking at it is that the sisters are already in a Cult
@storm jungle i bet you know a lot about sororitas. which order is currently being shat on the most?
Yeah but they usually try to cover it up
Martyed Lady and Valorous Heart mostly.
Martyed is mostly because they are the poster sororitas faction so their numbers are massive and have many worlds with some having been completely lost, same goes with the Valorous Heart but their situation is a bit more dire.
The other major orders are also under siege but are more teeming in numbers and support to launch liberation crusades to re-capture lost imperial worlds.
Sisters of battle take all the shit astartes dont due to plot convicience
Yeah no joke sororitas have been shit on for 2 decades before their army update.
It was never seen before because their entire range was updated.
was a really big deal a few years back
Guard can take it
Tbh everyone can take it
The only ones who can't are astartes since like, one army has more troops than there are marines lol
There’s as many of X as plot demands
If I had a nickel for everytime the sanguinary guard got wiped out
I’d have like 19 nickles
Lol
i mean, you also have the imperial fist getting wiped/almost wiped nickel jar
True
Coward
Way to jump the shark, first off try surviving the men of iron rebellion
How much prep time do i have
1 hour
Oh damn
Would it make sense for the Genestealers make their own version of a Gorkanaut, but it's a four armed emperor instead?
Peachy, formerly the guy that did updates on the GW channel and some tutorials, was making a four armed knight for his genestealer cult army
An Imperial Knight sure, but a Gorkanaut not really
I take it he never finished it?
Dunno
Could work with a knight or something similar, but making something like a gorkanaut would mean titan size, and so in the hands of the mechanicum
Ah. So would a genestealer stompa be more possible than Gorkanaut?
Wait you mean ork genestealers?
Cause in that case it could also be a gargant no problem
Imperial genestealers meawhile would have to repurpose imperial tech to make it
isn't it funny that the guard is supposed to be the faction that represents humanity and its defining feature is that there's trillions of them
other fictional settings would highlight how adaptive humanity is or how crafty we are
nah in 40k we just breed like rats
there's a lot of us, we built really good hives
more like termites really
extremely dangerous to get anywhere near your property
I mean when all your tech both doesn't advance and is entirely worked on by a cult of borgs who consider themselves above normal humans you kinda have only that left
Oh and also yeah transhuman demigods cover the adaptability part
Tbf the adaptive part is shown imo
With how many different regiments of different styles there are
is there any regiment that doesn't treat war like an excel spreadsheet
Prolly none of the famous ones
DO NOT name me a plot armour regiment like tanith
But there prolly is
Ventrillian nobels
They “donate” (bribe) imperial officials to put them in warzones with plenty of glory to be won
Do unpowered bicycles still exist in 40k?
I'd say there's a good amount of "Savage" ones
im willing to bet 5$ that kriegers use bicycles in some degree if they're going full WW1
Prolly
Would be weird for them not to
it's either a bunch of roughneck savages with no concept of decency or a bunch of aristocrats with more complexe uniforms than prussia
I mean, bicycles are more a sport or form of entertainment for people than a military vehicle.
they were used extensively in WW1 and to a lesser degree in WW2
there were even bicycle divisions in multiple armies
That is true. Bicycle infranty is a thing.
I could also see khorne uses bicycles.
i've seen many cyclists who would rather kill me than share the road so i can agree
I've wanted to kill so many cyclists
They made me fail my driver's exam twice
https://youtu.be/V1t3fX2SCzM?si=XPdbCtVP6QpHatPO
khorne at work
Police are hunting a cyclist who headbutted a man to the ground after a near-miss on a pedestrian crossing.
The cyclist ran a red light in Farringdon Street in the City of London on 22nd August, narrowly avoiding hitting the pedestrian who was crossing the road.
He then got off his bike, approached the businessman and headbutted him in the fac...
might as well just call them scooters at this point
Huh. I wonder if the Admech could strap a servitor to a bike and use it to pull towed weaponry.
they literally already have servitors who are basically human upper bodies with motorized tracks under them
Yeah, but surely sticking a servitor onto a bike would be much easier to maintain?
why bother? they already have factories shitting out thousands of servitors every day
Almost every form of tech we have now exists in 40k
its just a lot more basic and brutalist
What's new my fellow gue'vesa
is that an insult
we are talking iPhones
We all serve the greater good, no?
In speaking of iPhones, why don't the average imperial sla- citizen have one?
Lmao
i'll have you know that my boss lets me have two corpse starch bars if i work overtime
Does it come chocolate flavors?
what's chocolate
Poor
There are planets that have the same technology as earth but i forgot if it's still canon
There are
But the average imperial citizen is some slave
Working in a hive city
Or a forge world
Yeah that is fair
my local preacher says if i fall into the temptation of desiring more than starvation rations i'll have my soul claimed by evil entities
I guess the best quality of life are those afforded by the nobles, and on scintilla
Bastards can just go to a pleasure world if they want to
Pleasure worlds would be nice
if you are rich
Yup
what does the word pleasure mean
Which in 40k, the rich mirrors our own
Also the Slaaneshi form of pleasure with its meaning too NSFW that would constitutes a ban
But, no, pleasure worlds are just giant zoos and gardens
That may or may not have rich people doing the Slaaneshi form
Slaanesh stuff is mostly torture/hedonism
There are pleasure cults but they are very tame by dilara standards
💀
What's the world that turned itself into a feral world because the nobles imported non native animals?
Also in speaking of Chaos. I just realized tzeentch is the perfect chaos god for the impoverished and downtrodden
Isn't there literally an imperial guard regiment that became amazing monster hunters because that happened
Indiga
It’s not a feral world
But it’s literally monster hunter 40K edition
Do those guardsmen and women carry stupidly huge swords
Evicerators?
No
Too expensive on average
But they do get a cool armour
Indigan praefects, had to become monster hunters by choice because one of them wanted too much zoo time
Its less expensive and more just not the Guard's thing
because Sororitas can literally dump bolters and other equipment out like its candy lol
its also a bit of a mix of "its this imperial faction's niche so other factions shouldnt use it"
Looks at eldar, space marine and Orks having a good chunk of their stuff literally mirroring each other
The trio get away with it because they’re the og factions
Yeah they are basically the three musketeers of warhammer, but eldar sure get their stuff beaten a lot huh
Lul
You can't even make fun of orks for being punched a lot because that literally works for them
I wonder if the orks could get nid guns to work.
Not even if you wire them up with electricity?
But they could probably grow some squigs that act like nid guns
Like pancreas no work said
Squigs are your best bet
It’s never been explored
But nid guns are fused with their hosts normally
Yeah like
Also if you do that the guns might have a violent spasm and explode
its trying to basically take a pufferfish and trying to make it shoot its spikes
its a living organism without its host
It's still controlled by the hive mind remember
its not gonna work or listen to you
The last time a tyranid was brought back to life it did not end so well
Also yeah like the guns are literally alive and will attack you
They literally have eyes
So expect them to absolutely try their best to f*** you over
Ye like, only the old spike rifle could work
a tyranid got brought back to life?
Nids can survive a lot of stuff
Well not really it was frozen then brought back to life but my point still stands, helping a tyranid get peak condition in order to find uses for it ends rather badly
Or a devourer too
You mean the war in the museum one?
Old one eye
Old one eye is funny
Oh ye, but that was a mutated one before getting inserted back into the genepool
Kinda like ymgarrls were
The war in the museum one literally survived having all it's fluids removed
And it was a normal one
Yeah tyranids are tough
Ye, funny how it calls for gaunts and such to come close to him so he could eat them and use their body fluids to rehydrate himself

what part of "sacrificing civilians as bait for artillery" is based?
We're talking about the imperium and sacrificing civilians is the bar?
They're no more evil than other imperials
They just don't dress it up with false heroics and nobility
Marines malevolent deserve virus bombing for colour scheme alone
nah that's the best part about them
or rather the only good part
black and yellow goes hard
hence why I'm painting my Leviathan marines as The Scythes of the Emperor once I manage to start them
It fits well with black, but black fits well with almost every colour to be fair
Also it is fine with blue, violet and purple
All of it?
you know what fuck it i believe ederius
I mean he's not wrong
No faction really cares about the civs enough when my engine of war can destroy 4 hab blocks just by walking
It's 40k; Civilian Murder is never the answer, it's the question, and the answer is yes
Like, anything bigger than a human is inevitably gonna cause enough collateral damage to permanently cripple the life of anyone near that warzone anyway
A single knight fighting a stompa inside a city could spell the indirect end of thousands of civilians that may or may not have survived the battle
Simply cause they lose everything else that wasn't their lives lol
well even in 40k when a conflict is expected to happen the civilians are often evacuated if possible
or the main fighting is kept from the more populated areas
can't let good workforce to perish when tithes need paying
Ye but said good workforce needs a workplace to go back too, wich just like irl it doesn't always happen to be the case due to the home/workplace/whatever being bombed into rubble
It's just that like always, numbers get cranked to eleven and so saying like "1000 Hive workers don't have a place to live and work in anymore" is like talking about your friend losing it's job
If the work force perish then just bring people from other hives
that is true as well, the area of work is often more important than the workforce
In that specific case iirc the camp was already overrun
And also also rememeber that most enemies of humanity in 40k don't even care about seizing said area of work
That's basically just a rebel/chaos/occasionally ork mentality
well the maybe the local guard regiment has 1000 new conscripts
like on Armageddon when Angron did a quick visit there the population was sterilized and new workers were moved there after the previous population withered out just because they may have known that a large demon visited the planet
And also don't forget all the ones that weren't so lucky to get just mind wiped and sterilized
there's no first war in Armageddon
Nothing happened on Armageddon in 444.M41

Let It Bleed (50th Anniversary Edition) is out now:

"Sympathy For The Devil" by The Rolling Stones
Composers: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Lyrics:
Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith
I was 'round when Jesu...
I've always wondered if the marines malevolent were IH successors, but don't have the resources to replace the flesh.
And therefore take their frustrations out on normal humans when they get the chance.
IH ? Not IW ?
It’s gonna seem bit in character for me but I like to think the MM are DA.
Same sorta personality. The icon is similar to an old one of the DA legion (same as 2 other suspected DA chapters) and the MM have shown azrael and the DA more respect than most other chapters
I could see it.
help i got hacked
is there like some history between these 2 chapters?
i think it's just how one expression summarises Marines Malevolent in one go
The other 2 being Star phantoms and angels of vigilance
Any thoughts about the doom warriors?
The space marine chapter that have a failed organ, so they can't sleep.
never knew a space marine could be so relateable
Such a novelty in today's world
Yeah, not sure if that means they have to sleep the same amount of hours as a regular person, or if they just can't sleep at all.
Being yellow as well doesn't help.
so are they just like ... sleepy ? bc iirc space marines can go quite some time without sleeping
the god emperor gives his biggest naps to his sleepiest soldiers ...
No, Moody.
The Doom Warriors are a Codex Chapter of unknown founding and origin.
fuckin lol
"i stiched you out of your dead sister, yes, but really you fuck out of your pisser don't fuckin talk down to me"
I also love how the techpriest is wilingly there
and has no issue being put in statis as a museum piece
best part from that book imo is when Sveras or however the fuck is name is spoken becomes a pure energy being for no reason except "oh yeah the stars aligned in the right way"
oh wait i confused Orikan name with the fucking Silent King
also in that post is the tl:dr part of how Trazyn is fucking pissed the Lictor keeps going straight at him
The fact that he has to keep respawning from it is even funnier
in that post: i also did not know who the bad sister was referencing or supposed to be from
Yeah it doesnt give proper context
so i found it kind of funny there's a section like, and she's totally at peace and doesn't feel bad at all about what happened
which i assume are like warcrimes or whatever
like that's an unusual trait in this setting
shes also a Sister from Vandire's era
so shes legit even more brainwashed than your regular Sororitas too lol
right she's just like whatever lets go
i like the energy
also laughed really hard at uh sec
like obviously tau are naive sure fine
i was just imagining that guys POV
Its a bit more believable because you can actually do diplomacy with Trazyn.
Even Fabius came to him and almost became a museum piece before he managed to make a counter offer to Trazyn
right they're like boy i hope this necron lord is reasonable and not totally insane it seems like not amazing odds but here i go on my first big diplomacy job boy the water caste is going to be so proud of m-
and the next frame is a flesh hound jumping on him

Dilaraaaaa
Whats up
very based
Oh yee I finished terminal overkill yesterday
It’s good, ||the name makes no sense and the name drops of a bunch of units was funny||
||The child slavery was unappreciated and the fact all she got from that was a shotgun for a chapter and making a box her slave master had||
The ending was great tho
||I kept imagining the slave owner guy looked like some image of a goblin I found||
||Oh yeah and the lady with the blood pump played a metaphorical role in the ending too ig||
Let me spoiler all of this
my man has been worshipping nurgle
no he's just an exxon executive
Guys, gimme some funny and or interesting orks to read about
have you read brutal kunnin?
I’m not interested in actually obtaining books since I’m not exactly willing to spend money, I was just gonna like research characters/watch videos on them, etc
But no, continue
oh boy are Brutal Kunnin orks Are very funny
They also did something amazing in the book I will not spoil what you can read for yourself but I recommend it because it's just classic ork fun
Makari
The only grot that is doing pretty good
Any way to get a online version for free or anything?
One ork turned himself into Unicron
if you don't mind spoilers you can just go to the lexicanum and type Ufthak
Read about him and you will understand what makes him based
I mean like you said, I’d rather read it from the perspective of the characters in the book
ok hold on let me just pull out my freebooter cap
Time for some propah lootin’
@tough haven after going through multiple imperial checkpoints and having a shootout with the arbitres i found a pdf
I don't know if it's complete
Good on ya
But i will send it over to you privately
The Inquisition thanks you for your discretion in this matter
Black market deals with Blood Axes in order to learn more about Ork Kultur
also if you don't receive the PDF I have the link for the website
Alright
there dm finished
Much appreciated, worked like a charm btw
it opened?
Yup
Oh yeah so disclaimer I don't know if it's the entire book so just keep that in mind I got this from somewhere not really sanctioned by the inquisition
Eh that’s ok
alright enjoy and have fun
can space marines walk up normal people stairs? i mean their boots are pretty big
On their tippy toes
i can only imagine a squad trying to catch a guy who ran upstairs in some buildings and they cant get to him bc they keep falling down
They shoot the support structure to bring upstairs to downstairs
lmao
if they had to do it on their tippy toes would that mean raven guard are the best at walking upstairs?
There’s a scene of a terminator walking up some stairs
They can’t support his weight
Dude fell through
They needed a crane to get him up
Executed for misplaced faith
spreading slanderous rumors
i have terrain with stairs on it and my terminators always make it up them
maybe i should roll next time and if i get a 1 he dies
You'd never see ravens
They would just appear upstairs
falls wrong and breaks his neck
I just imagine they just t-pose everywhere
I died to my beliefs, if they damn my souls then so be it!
Never heard from again, all records of this guardsman's existence conveniently go missing
(Or were never there to begin with because administratum moment)
Dare you enter the Pariah Nexus?

Jokes on you i joined choas, now im gonna misarrange your paperwork on your desk. Ill doom millions
i see them, bc i play them
Hush
Oh hey Dilara, may i ask you a question
Sure thing
All right so, what was the ending of brutal kunnin if you read it, i got a pdf of it out somewhere i will not tell you where, i just want to know the ending to make sure that i just got something complete
What does the last page say
The last part was Da meklord really mad at badrukk
Like he was cursing him a bit
I'm firing up the pc real quick hold on
some youtuber i watch made a poll for which regiment should represent the guard in the store and a surprising amount of people wanted elysian drop troops
I mean they look pretty cool but personally to me they look similar to Cadians, i mean for fox sake they're basically cadians with advance parachutes
they have slightly different colour schemes at least
i think steel legion is the best regiment for what i'd think of as generic guard
a bunch of dummies also suggested vostroyans
super decorated regiments would be such shitty representations of generic monkey brained guardsman
Honestly penal legion kit would be cool
Is this good?
Utube comments says its about civilians guardsmen and salamanders and sisters
The salamanders are kinda cool
That salamander is literally going to burn those civilians
He’s part of the third company
can't wait for the next 20 years of people thinking space marines are insanely powerful due to this game
We await multiplayer confirmation and base colors for Legions/Chapters similar to the first game, only 3 player coop has been confirmed!
💀 it’s so fucking over
There’s a lot of things nids have that should just instantly kill a marine on impact
I hope we get the option of wearing a helmet. I mean yeah, feel the toxic wind and ashes of war brushing against your skin, Astartes. But I want to wear a helmet for aesthetic reasons.
From what I’ve seen, the Guard will be tagging along with us in certain parts of the story, My “Halo Marine Protection” instincts are gonna be kicking in when I start playing this.
FOR THE EMPEROR!
Difficulty will just be fucking insane for canon reasons
90% of attacks just outright kill you
If there’s a canon difficulty option
I’ll fucking take it lol
Gaunts and stuff wouldn’t be that bad
But warriors would be horrifying lol
A Venom cannon would instantly melt you lul
Lictor with the new design
Why is captain titus not wearinf a helmet
Besides the obvious main character syndrome
He’s a lt, he has an iron halo
Helmet isn’t as necessary
But he should still be wearing it from an actual like in lore perspective
Bcs if the refractor field doesn’t work he’s gona mcfucking die
Whats a refractor field
Shield
So he has a shield to protect him?
Most marines of rank tend to yes
Like an actual shield u gold
Think energy shield like halo but it’s a bubble around you that blocks almost everything but can fail under pressure
Or like somekind of energy based
Sufficient firepower or mass of fire
Ooohh
Will cause a refractor shield to fail
Or specialized munitions
Also sometimes they just don’t work
Because imperial technology isn’t great Ironicially
An example of one is the shield the traitor captain has in game, in lore they don't appear unless you're taking fire though
Yeah sometimes you'll be able to just tank intense fire
Sometimes it'll literally shit the bed and you'll eat a melta to the face
So thats why he has that 3 bars on him in the Hud
Other times a single bullet from some crappy auto gun will slip through and into your eye, killing you instantly
Yeah I'd assume its to represent it
or some other "bonus" health mechanic
Conversion fields are the much more reliable but way more expensive and rare version of a refractor field
Instead of blocking it they somehow just turn the projectile into a bright flashes of light
they can still be broken and fail but your less likely to just eat a bullet to the face
There's a lot of weird ass energy shielding in the imperium but its all very rare and very expensive
Is the traitor captain void shield being one of those rare stuff
void shields aren't for personal use
Its able to block bullets and melee weapons
Refractor shields can do that
Not necessarily
No shields? Lol
Their primary speciality is long term sieges
Guardsmen lives are cheap
they don't get shields
Only Field commanders and up get refractor shields
imagine charging to melee enemy at anything more than slow march speed
mordia says hi
Wouldn't it be a Conversion field ? As it make lights when hit
Actually you might be right
Trench warfare, attrition is long term as well
Trench warfare explicitly isn't their specality
They are siege specialists
Memes ≠ lore
Vraks was a shitshow where they got forced into a shitty situation
and had to engage in trench warfare
They normally use mass artillery bombardment + mechanized assaults
I heard they bombarded traitor worlds for years and years lol
Which was reflected in their army rules
It depends
they bombarded a traitor hive for years
even though they had already surrendered
The Death Korps of Krieg are very willing to spend their lives for a worthy cause and are in fact not suicidal
They don't want to die a meaningless death as thats considered extremely dishonerable
Wasn't the difference between them and the Armaggeddon troops that they were cheaper due to not needing mechanised troops ?
@arctic talon name every single guard vehicle
DO I need to do varients
yes
💀
They fight as much as they can until they die
if you cant do that you dont have a right to speak about guard
They still fled on Vrak
Idk much about Vraks, tactical retreat or Commissar orders?
full on retreat against comissar orders because they deemed it a waste of their lives
to charge a fortified position
Nice
the retreat was merely temporary
also that whole krieg regiment got sentinced to a penal battalion
because of course they did
Killing Commissar and fleeing
Niceeeeee
Krieg is way different from the memes
the commissar merely shot themselves three times in the head
They aren't as special as most think
I’m currently reading Tanith First & Only, visceral book. I’m thinking of picking up Krieg eventually
Some are just specialized in what they do due to their worlds
The DK are shockingly plain and boring
i bet this clown has elysium minis
Im still excited
I don’t have friends so co op doesn’t matter to me
the only guard minis I own are the vet guard killteam lul
The korps meanwhile are just WW1 garbage with a mediocre track record
Baneblade, shadowsword, stormsword, stormblade, stormhammer, hellhammer, banehammer, doomhammer, banesword, stormlord, Gorgon, Atlas, Basalisk, bombard, Colossus, Centaur, Chimera, Cyclos demolition vehicle, Deathstrike, Griffon, hellhound, devil dog, banewolf, Hydra, Land Crawler, Lemen Russ(Exterminator, Demolisher, Vanquisher, Conqureror, executioner, annihlator, mars pattern, Eradicator, Puisher), Destroyer tank hunter, Thunderer Siege Tank, Manticore, medusa, Salamander, Sentinel(scout, armored, mars pattern, elysian pattern, catachan pattern, cadian pattern, Armaggedon pattern, tallaran pattern), Tauros, Taurox, Termite drill, Crassus armored transport, Praetor, Macharius(Vulcan, vanquishier, omega), Malcador(Annihlator, defender, infernius) , Valdor Tank Hunter, Minotaur, capitol imperialis, hades breaching drill. @crystal forum
I probably missed something
lmao
Do the korps train their own pilots or do they purely rely on the navy for aerial transportation?
Every regiment relies on the navy for aerial transportation
The only regiment with it's "own pilots" are like
where's the goliath
the fuck is the goliath
They're still separate from the actual regiment
the truck?
Being the Phantine Skyborne iirc
nvm
bcs this thing is a civllian vehicle
I would like some more expansion on the Harakoni Warhawks despite similarities with the Elysian Drop Troops
The genestealer technical
you named mars pattern as a variant of leman russ
I would like some more expansions on XYZ but they're also humans
you didn't name the leman russ mars pattern with every cannon type
Looks like it should mount rockets in the back.
Elysians get fancy flack
Lol, the majority of the Imperial Guard are humans
Because Elysia is pretty rich
So like Gue'vesa or Dark Eldar Slaves/Mercenaries?
I'd rather get an expansion on non human factions tbh
even though I own mostly imperial minatures
Elysian sounds like Elysium, I wonder if their world is a semi-paradise
Its a very nice world iirc
the council of guard has reviewed your application and have decided to grant you permission to speak of guard topics on the condition that you praise cadia every time
I am going to use rocks from cadia as pocket sand
You know, I wonder if the iron warriors could build a tyranid force through warpsmiths and the obliterator virus.
Which ones you had in mind? I’m still going through factions, but basis of each I know
Tau(auxilia), Dark Eldar, Leagues of votaan are the 3 big ones
Any Eldar tbh
Craftworld Eldar need model updates
They don’t need a range expansion
Also harlequins ig
Fair
I’ll probably get into more of the Farsight Enclaves
Yall
I'm back
Who's the psyker's beloved
I wanna say Tzeentch but that feels too low-hanging fruit
he/she at least thinks it's the emperor
It seems to be a fragment of the emperor if we are to believe the voice lines
Yeah that's exactly what Tzeentch would want you to think
Tau auxilia will always be sick
AFAIK, if they released TOW tomorrow along with every single faction model as it was in 8th edition FB, I think ~~Warp Spiders/Phoenix Lords ~~Baharroth's Wings would still be the oldest models in the catalogue
I mean most 8 ed models are decently new nothing huge but something
I don't mean the models released in 8th edition alone, I mean all the models that were being sold during 8th edition for all factions
the skaven ones?
yeah, as far as I can tell
I think the Warpfire Thower is one of the oldest models, and even that's newer than Warp Spiders and certainly newer than Baharroths Wings (1990)
Ouch
I love how beastmen are in 40k in any Warhammer fantasy they're like this abominable evil of chaos and pure human evil but in 40k it's like if that guy can praise the emperor and shoot a lasgun we'll deal with him and his horns later
Beastmen in 40k are literally just mutants, and even then most of them actually are aligned to chaos
Still ironically more accepting than fantasy, but fantasy is much much less people in general and lower tech
Of course not lol
Im just thinking they're more likely to enlist a weird beastmen if he's not like a bestigor in the head region
Also if you had to count beastmen herds equivalent you'd have to go toward the Gorrs who are all chaos aligned and mindless ravagers
the person that the psyker talks to, the "beloved", is the emperor and this is canon. beloved explicitly calls out felinids as being "exceptionally beautiful". therefore, the relatively permissive status of felinids is because the emperor is canonically furry. i'm sorry, but these are the facts
Maybe whatever the 40k equivalent of an ungor is,
💀
Rip that one beastmen that has horns for eyes and eyes for horns
reminds me of some IRL goats
or rather horned mammals whos horns grow and curl to stab themselves in the brain
if that isnt chaos i dont know what is

The beastmen themselves needs more gross horns j agree
Like take a tuskgor or a razorgor horns and put them on a beast men, have three tusks that all stab their very lacking brain
yeah fantasy beastmen have a lot more lore even if its basic
they are also the literal black sheep of the setting lol
Imagine the lore of a beastmen lord where instead of being born they corrupted from human or another species and their body legit tried to kill the corruption and shit, making it really not normal due to the organic and corrupted parts Fighting leading to certain joints just not existing being replaced somewhere else
The beastmen equivalent of a pug
🤔
It's basically like your immune system is trying to kill itself so it cuts out redundant and inevitably necessary parts for survival
they also have some the most horrific monsters in fantasy, i'd say they are equal to moulder
their lore was also pretty fucked up
it got softly edited and retconned over time lmao
Gave ?
And Tzaangor is both 40k and AoS
????
I mean I'm talking like pure chaos energy not tzeentch slam Dunkin another head on a guy for fun
i mean look at this, it looks like me
Ohhh noo the men have goat faces!
I sleep
Literally the least interesting part of all of warhammer
It was less that and how more beastmen got "made"

ah yes, evolution fucking them over
Nah it didnt
its why they leaned into beastmen being made through beastwomen later
who also barely have any lore lmao
Well at least it's not Skaven Broodmothers
See the skaven are at least like funny with the evil like yeah how are skaven made that's gross but like
eh skaven broodmoms are fine yeah
Do we want like gross rat bug moms or do we want the molestation industrial complex
^
Broodmothers are really not that gross
its literally just a bloated female skaven that constantly pumps out kids while tied to an IV stand
theres a lot worse stuff out there lmao
Gross, but I bet the multihead moulder thing is grosser
Whatever it's called
That thing is probably a brood mother hooked up with like the boys
And by hooked up we mean surgically grafted
They are taken care of by gelded Skaven slaves (To avoid them breeding the Broodmothers
It's warhammer so both?
The worst of all blood bowl games indeed, and it never was a high bar to start anyway
their ability to fuck up a simple football game is amazing
There's only rats in fantasy as far as we know so we unfortunately have to just chill with thay
what the fuck is this shit
leman russ artillery
apparently the top ones are medusas???
i really need to point out how weird these models are
those tracks are leman russ
but the front hull is chimera
i want a fullscale model of this yesterday
i love the lengths they have to go to because they decided that chimeras weren't available in 30k
that's like half of the guard arsenal that can't be used
including all self propelled artillery
i wonder if they'll even bother explaining in lore why they went from leman russ to chimera
they straight up can't use the "lost technology" excuse because both the leman russ and the artillery guns are present in abundance in 40k
they might say that the leman russ is a mars pattern so it eventually became too rare to be used
but then why wouldn't krieg have any?
Logistic ? Like the Leman russ being easier to procure new parts and repair ? Or even the FW producing them turned traitor so they started to become much rarer
those could work but they'd still be weak reasons imo. the malcador at least makes sense for being outdated, it literally looks antiquated and it doesn't even have a turret. these leman russ artillery vehicles would be pretty recent additions to the solar auxilia arsenal at that point too since the malcador is still in the process of being phased out
like it's obvious that GW added these artillery tanks because guard needs them but i think it would have been better to create a new malcador variant so it would make more sense that we've never seen one in 40k before
also the destroyer tank is a leman russ hull with a heavy laser destroyer. whenever the tank is disabled they rip out the gun and put it in another cheap modified leman russ. The guard can do this, leman russes are worth nothing to them and they can adapt weapons into them. It's the gun that's valuable because nobody produces them anymore
so when GW shows that there existed a leman russ with a basilisk cannon on it, it really just comes as stupid. neither the gun nor the hull are hard to obtain. Chimera hulls are weak as hell and i'm sure there's many uses for an armoured artillery vehicle that can push in dangerous areas
Maybe it's something like that variant of the helios launcher?
which one?
Sorry, the Whirlwind Hyperios.
Where because of that Admech Schism, they're not made and some chapters that do have them won't use them.
It's not like the Admech can't use 90% of their 30k stuff
but that's the thing, like i explained there's precedence in lore of leman russes being modified to use difference weapons
the destroyer tank hunter and its variant the thunderer are both field modifications
the thunderer is literally a leman russ without a turret with a demolisher slapped on it
It doesn't matter.
it does to me damn it
I wonder if transport gliders would fall underneath the Imperial Navy or the Imperial Guard?
guard
That’s mostly for gameplay reasons unfortunately

Orodo reductor and tech thralls are still around
Same with thallaxi
Only thing that isn’t allowed lore wise is the cybernetica robots
im just mad that space marines get new shit they don't even need and guard get stuff they can't even use in 40k
it's also funny that GW have clearly dug themselves into a hole by neglecting 30k guard lore too much
It’s very open ended
30k guard is solar auxilia because GW can't be fucked to create new regiments
Solar auxilia also isn’t even the guard in 30k 💀
They’re specialists
Imperial cults and militia are super neglected
Same with Daemons of the ruin storm lol
im happy they bothered to at least give militia a sheet
It’s a very good sheet
Tbh
Horus heresy is an unbalanced cluster fuck tho
Bcs of instant death
Yeah
More present the Solar auxilia

But Solar auxilia was a forgeworld employees pet project
so you're saying that i have to get a job at GW and create a 30k regiment
Right, but it hasn't got any engines, so it can't get back up.
i'll call them the cyclopian maulers and base them off of greek hoplites
Get a job at GW at forgeworld designing minatures for Horus heresy
i wonder how's the job market for such a niche thing
Solar auxilia are their own thing lore wise from the imperial army
33 holday days per year, 7.5% profit share bonus
working at GW isn't so bad huh
wait no pension up to 7.5%
They’ve been pretty good to work under post Kirby
i like when companies actually give back to employees when it's profit season
25 percent off, a person could actually afford to get into warhammer that way
they have positions in memphis in the US for 17$ an hour with honestly insane benefits for a warehouse job
Wow my job pays better and has the same benifits
awesome!
But i recon id save a bunch of money with the discount xD
it doesnt even mention the discount on the warehouse job
i'd take the job just for it alone lol
I sure do wonder what this implies
Can love...
Mmmmmm mon’keigh
i wish i could use "unknown" as a response to my romantic preferences
"no one alive can comprehend my sexual preference" flashbacks
Honestly here's my thing with Yrliet: totally down for Eldar waifu. When you think about it, when you get to the fringes of the Imperium and start thinking about characters like our rogue trader or even inquisitors, it's pretty unlikely that human-eldar relationships are as rare as you'd be led to believe.
My issue is that they made her hot
They're cowards who won't give me a stretched-out, uncanny and unsettlingly nimble gf
Eldar just don't look good, and they should keep not looking good when you're married to them
Eldar have always looked handsome/beautiful as per the lore
so YEET
Eldar look good in writing but in art they're always either horrific distortions of the human form, space waifus, or the extremely rare form of a male eldar, your alcoholic uncle dale here to sell you magic crystals
Eh no they aren't
Why do you think they are popular to a certain audience?
the only time eldar have looked weird is due to artists
Elves are always popular in media
its not just a 40k thing because people are horni constantly lol
Also canonically they are taller than people
Which is always a plus for people who want to be degraded
Yeah they forget that physically speaking eldar are superior to humans
Biologically speaking ye
Then at the lower end of the spectrum the tau
Tau biology is pretty weird
Some of them are capable of melee but they will crumple harder than joe biden at a flight of stairs
This man looks like he's going to buy me a pint of fireball and tell me who really built the pyramids
But honestly even with that art of Eldrad, like... yeah, i get what the black templars are saying, I can see it
Its literally just hugo weaving with long ears
his eyes are black soulless pits
A good portion of people grow up like that
I do appreciate how Yriel looks like Jetstream Sam tho
so why do eldar have ridiculously long hair?
I get that COs are allotted certain liberties, but that long hair is funky
there's actually very little reason to cut your hair in the military other than to enforce uniformity. a lot of ancient warriors had long hair. Modern militaries though want to have a professional look so they require strict hair lengths
also officers are pansies who are afraid of their bald spots so they force uniform baldness to hide their shame
that last part is my own theory
baldness is a sign of xenos activity
i completely forgot this vehicle was a thing in forge world https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/catalog/product/920x950/99590105389_SolarAuxiliaBasilisk01.jpg
today i found out that forge world used to do a couple of different basilisk variants
including one with an enclosed gunner platform
It’s drip or drown
And the craftworld eldar style seems to be big pony tails
Orks like ponytails too don't forget
I mean they can customize hair squigs a lot more, if properly utilized you can even get a beard
Oh that's cool there should be more
Eldar can have any sort of hairstyle.
The longer hair is just one of the "default" options since they are culturally inspired by a lot of things like japanese/hindu hairstyles.
no no having short hair is slutty and therefore they'll be taken by slaanesh straight from the barber
💀
like the lil' snack they are
dilara becoming a champion of Khorne to kill people who think slannesh is all about sex and beautiful girls, fr
I know the answer is yes but are there equivalents to plague zombies/poxwalkers for the other gods
I want a slaanesh army where my chaff units are just like a horde of people that just came out of the worlds worst mosh pit
Nah there isnt
its why nurgle always gets picked, he basically has the base version of what zombies are.
In some instances some other god's cultists have been described to act like a horde of raving lunatics just rushing the opposition with shivs and other weapons
The closest you'll get is
"effectively" zombies
People drive to a blood frenzy
People ensnared by some slaanesh shenanigans
People driven to madness and being puppeted by Tzeentch bs
But only Nurgle has straight up shambling corpses
Well at least those exist in Fantasy. Where the conjoined Twins puppet Thralls
Ok now imagine the horde of slaanesh cultists but they're stuck together like a rice krispie treat
I think that could be a fun unit
Yeah closest to pox walker you can get would be
Angron rage virus humans for Khorne
Heavily mutated humans for Tzneetch
Zealots Methheads for Slaneesh
Basic horde unit called "Blood Cursed Ravagers" or something
Just random imperial units
Here it is!
In this first video, John Blanche chats about some of his most iconic art pieces from the Warhammer IP, along with some other select works. Also included is some footage I filmed with Tuomas Pirinen, which I felt was relevant to this video.
With Thanks to:
John Blanche

Ronan Dugga...
Now this is some REAL 40k lore
Mutant Rabble did exist in lore iirc. But I think they fit better as the Bruiser and Melee elites. And Puppeted Civis as horde
Mutant rabble are no where near pox walkers in lore
They fit better as the Bruisers and the melee elites
Case in point
Wahapedia: Renegades and Heretics — Renegade Mutant Rabble (stats, options, wargear, abilities and keywords).
i'm keeping my expectations low not because i want to be negative but so i don't get disappointed
this is like the most popular game licensed by GW right? i hope they put the level of attention necessary
But the melee system looks like it's just what the first game had + new stuff
Should check out this clip under a minute: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uzucEQ-VhHQ&pp=ygUOc3BhY2UgbWFyaW5lIDI%3D
Feast your eyes on this new gameplay trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. Don't miss out on the other big Warhammer news from Gamescom: https://ow.ly/XyPE50PCgV2
GW should just make its own game dev studio at this point if they want to keep associating with meh studios
There’s also around 10 minutes additional with many who have played a demo, not even final version yet
You think their inhouse studio would be better ?
Reviews have started to be uploaded a few days now
i don't want to get on a high horse but these sorts of videos are absolutely useless. They're meant to sell you the product so they show selective gameplay they think looks appealing. Plus they're mostly meant to show off the graphics and imo no real gamer should care about that at all.
Surely that’s almost every game?
Why would they not appeal to audiences that have waited over a decade for Space Marine II?
no, they'd be average at best. It would be the same as if they hired the usual type of studios
for the videos? yes, that's what gameplay reveal trailers do. It's why i don't watch them because they're meant to hype you up to buy the product
If anything they need to learn to be less overbearing, not to make the game less lore accurate, but to make more/better studio interested in doing warhammer games
If you watched it, it would inform you it is more than just a trailer. That link I sent is literally only gameplay with lore accurate dialogue and circumstance that is relevant to W40K’s setting
You do not have to preorder, every product has to have some reveal regardless if they’re trying to make you buy it or not
i think the reason we don't see bigger or better studios want to work with GW is that you're basically losing a part of the profit from getting the license from GW. im sure they keep a decent % of profit too. It you already have a fanbase like larger studios then you don't need 40k to make your game more popular.
imagine if fatshark didn't market its game with warhammer stuff
it would be popular now because fatshark has a fanbase but maybe not when vermintide 1 came out
im not talking about the lore and the dialogue. the gameplay is the main factor here and these trailers regularly make stuff up to make it more appealing
go watch the gameplay trailers for rainbow six siege. it's so funny seeing the game being taken so seriously and slowly
completely backwards, actually
GW did do gigantic licences for ages
ages and ages
did up until the 2010s
they still do triple As occasionally
like what?
i think space marine 2 is triple a? the dawn of war warhammer version is another relatively recent example
they're willing to work with big devs/publishers, but the biggest dev/publishers demand a lot of exclusivity, and their IP strategy went the exact opposite direction
extra credit did some good videos on this, sec
Games Workshop has done a complete about face on its approach to video game licensing. They used to focus on one key partner (SSI Mindscape or THQ) producing high quality, big budget games. But recently, they started licensing multiple video game developers, many with no proven record of success. Why the sudden change? Subscribe for new episode...
Perhaps, either way the gameplay is solid and not quite the finished product as we haven’t seen all the weapons and animations from the entire story.
Not sure what else you can do if you only stop at showing cinematics/cutscenes and not show gameplay.
Games Workshop started handing out bits of the Warhammer License like candy - but did it work? We think so! They used the great detail of the Warhammer Universe to distribute risk and create tiers of investment in games with varying quality levels, resulting in a test bed for small studios and a template for working with big ones.

with an IP like this for a long time they went with the best of the best, and went for high end bespoke triple a experiences
but darktide and the tides generally are examples of the inverse of this strategy
that's what i dont get. so GW wants a game company to give them money and in return GW gets to decide what's in the game? where's the up side for the dev studio
Let's also rememeber Nurgle has Atleast 4 different types of zombies
lots of granularity with IP, dividing the licence up nice and fine
