I'M NOT ADDICTED-DEPENDENT, I CAN QUIT-QUIT ANYTIME I WANT!!!

cadia is at war again. anyways...
Isn't it the same war ?
yes but when this book was written i guess the fall of cadia wasn't a thing yet
Cadia was an active battleground pretty much ever since the 1st black crusade
Do Zoanthropes float or do they slither? Or is it a combination of both? They always have their snake like bodies on the ground in the artwork and box art.
I was thinking about elongating them to have them coiling around branches and over logs and shit for my Jungle ‘nids.
they usually float
But you can make them coil around logs and branches
just have a reason ready on how they can do that
They’re not a flier right? I need to check the rules.
Yes they levitate
Does anyone have some nice images of dregs and scabs?
does concept art count
Sure
That scab with the bright yellow hood and cloak with the large mask reminds me of those classic yellow hazmat suits.
Some of those would be great for Psykers or Sorcerwr elites
The pointy hood made me think of these old forgeword guys from the Vraks era
Would have been really good to see a "preacher" make it into the specialists pool. They would probably provide some sort of AoE buff to nearby heretics
I love that its so easy to mage generic cultists into nurgle with 3 round objects of any kind.
make*
3 skulls, 3 rings, 3 collanders, 3 pots/pans, 3 plates
3 rotten apples
3 empty corpse starch tins
3 pitted sores next to each other, yeah it's pretty cool especially in the modeling aspect if you're into minis
Either that or some of the new Nazgul dark commune units
I can feel the corruption damage through this image, yes
And yeah those guys are totally not Nazgul
Ah yes the finest ohio drip
Which faction would most likely be the best to base a battle royale around?
orks
orks or chaos
the red corsairs literally host a battle royale on new babab
same for the sons of malice in their space hulk
Ok, im gonna need of dilaras tzeentchi explanations for this
whats its exactly the joker god?
Orks, chaos, imperium
For the imperium it would prolly be a schola progenium death match to weed out the weak
Or it could be an officio assasinorum ship
Where they try their best to turn all the psychopathic children into even more psychopathic ones
Aren't the point of BRs to find and loot the best gear first on the ground?
Who?
Theres not much to say
Fuck
Hes just the patron god of the Eldar Harlequins.
the one time i want a bible
and theres no shit
Ok
i know the thing that triggers all warhammers fan into writing bibles
the one thing
that never fails
what is the horus heresy
An Imperial Civil war

Horus goes mad because Chaos and half the primarchs go apeshit and fight each other and it leaves Big E crippled
It is a complex character, but at the same time very simple in it's complexity
Also yeah that
Ok, so, whats its point?
Hes the Patron God of the Harlequins, who all have their own seperate troupes/armies that follow His will across the galaxy, performing for other races as a warning or carrying small wars against forces of chaos.
Cegorach and the less nihilistic Harlequins try to preserve the future of the Eldar by fighting the Great Enemy AKA Chaos in any shape or form or carry out mysterious actions that will aid their cause in the long run, this is one of the excuses you can use to make them attack other factions for narrative and tabletop reasons.
Thats it.

now there we go
Why do trickster gods exist ? That's a difficult theological question
thats what i wanted
Eh in this case its not that deep
its to fight chaos
because we live in a society?
Well it's to fight chaos now, but before, why did Cegorach become what it is
Like for clarity, originally there are 2 types of gods for the Eldar (As with the Elf in fantasy), with some that are good and some that are less good.
Khaine seems a lot nicer
Oh hes not LMAO
Yes, but we can assume it follow a similar pattern
We cant because theres no presedence for it.
the books never really mention there being good/bad eldar gods
Khaine is suppose to be the aspect of war and honor but hes literally a dipshit that tortures good gods like Vaul
because uh he didnt make him 999 swords, and lied to him

Its just me or khorne its a basic bitch compare to the others?
They're all basic
I mean khaine isn't in the nice gods
Also Dilara do you have that Vraks cultist with the skull mask on hand?
yeee
Or however his name is spelled
Wolfe*
very basic bad guy name
when the game first came out he didnt even have a name in the subs, it was just Traitor Captain™️

I'm like halfway done

I think I got most of the characters down
Need to tidy up Morrow's face
I'm very satisfied with Hadron
You can see him in full gear in the opening intro cutscene bowing to the Dreg shotgunner and in the last cinematic trailer
Also this looks like the pointing meme
Didn't the trickster god switch where Fulgrim and the Khan were suppose to land?
pricing lore
Wasn’t this expensive for the time as a war game
Or was that 3e
My brain is fried
a pound was a lot of money suprisingly late
old computer games costing like two pounds always throws me off
GW still honours the Mail in orders if you have any of the old Mail this order slip.
Super quick question
The parchment shown on Dreadnoughts citing names - is that the name of the entombed within?
often yes
There's other calgars?
Just the one Calgar actually.
But ‘CALGAR’ is on the parchment in the showcase painted Dreadnought in Leviathan, if I’m remembering right
Yeah, and there's other Calgars
And it was probably just a funni reference that the 'eavy metal team did
I Read That as confusion
Besides that the House of Calgar is still very much a thing, and it's been a few hundred years since old Marneus got recruited
It’s a lot of stuff
Could be their name, could be the names of those they write oaths to, could be battles or worlds they’ve served on
Think one option on the ven dread says Calth
And badab
speaking of the leviathan box, what's with the libranian in terminator armour's runes?
there's runes on his leg armour. i thought runes were a chaos thing
Ask the Space Wolves.
It’s anti warp runes
Just basic rites of protection from spirits
Started bein a thing back in the heresy when the loyalists first fought daemons
it's an ultramarine actually
though yeah the libra in terminator armour does look very scandanavian
does it call a specific chaos deity or is it just generic magic
Its literally just general warding runes
Grey Knights have them inscribed to their bones during initiation 👀
maybe im not looking at 40k magic correctly but incantations and stuff seems to require a deity of some sort to answer the demands
It doesn't.
Wards can just have a general psychic effect that isnt tied to a deity.
Magic isnt patented by anyone in 40k.
do they require a psyker to make them
Not all the time
when its something done by a machine the thing you use to make the runes tho can require something psychic.
Ala a psykers ashes, a pen made of a psyker's bones used to enscribe shit, etc
Just any nonsense you can think of

are these magic things weak as a rule?
like can a normie human become a powerful wizard just by using them
and what if a null stands around runes? do they lose all their power?
You need to be a psyker to use magic
since you are the conduit in which the powers flow through you
Depends on how powerful the null and the psyker is
We need more Finnish wizards in media
so if an alpha+ psyker makes a generic warding rune it'll be super strong?
As usual depends on the writer lol
also Alpha+ powers are basically whatever the writer also wants
so sure why not
Theres a reason you barely see them in lore
that could lead to some funny scenarios
Btw while you’re in chat and lore talk seems to the most fitting place to ask. If I wanted to go off about a homebrew where should one do that.
Generic. Means it can ward off against anything, even non aligned warp spirits
like a demon laughing at a priest's temple and suddenly he's yelling in pain because a strong psyker made a small rune on it

this is the cool guy lore area where we don't yell at you for making stuff up 😎
Very very nice
Lmao stop
Btw, I upsettingly looked more into that knight pilot inquisitor of 2 ordos
Jesus Christ
I mean Jesus Christ
Yeah thats Inkary's OC which is a bit more believable.
Tiny bit but still. Wild stuff
mostly since her Pariah is basically the treasury guard, aka an overglorified diplomat and accountant lol
Ye
I saw some shit though man
Don’t know why the dinosaurs had to be brought into it
But it was FOUL
LMAO
Yeah that commission was more or less Baron (the commissioner) going for shock value.
but it just ends up being "why tho"
Seriously
Yep but whatever i guess 💀
Let us discuss the Fallen
That poor wraith knight man
Hell yeah
You mean AoS Ikit Claw
no literally mechanicus skaven
Twitter people are very strange
I'm watching two big groups, one unironically calling itself "Chudhammer" tear each other apart over..... Some female heads on generic models
Ye, it was joke seeing as aos Ikit claw is basically mechanicus skaven
He even made skaven skitarii
Yeah I hate it lol
Those aren't Skaven
Tbh the first one is more or less how I imagine the cogwork storm vermin
Idk ask the furry
I don't like calling things closet furry bait but this is closet furry bait
Not to interrupt the wonders of mechrats, I’ll probably just copy and paste some paragraphs I had in another convo to explain the lads but here’s the big boys I’ve gotten. From top to bottom Tyr, Elia, Hywel, Malcolm, Carlaen and Marwolaeth (shared here before obviously)
I'll only accept it if they use the keys of hel on his skull and arm and it proceeds to create a completely numb and lifeless mechanical corpse of ferrus
You know, like the first time they tried making a puppet with his hand lol
Starting with Týr, he's a terran-born veteran of the unification wars, single oldest marine of my fallen group, born in what would be Scandinavia today to a techno barbarian king. eventually he left his father and brother as a boy and found his way into the first successful group of the Angels of Death, alongside the likes of say Marduk Sedras and Merir Astelan. problem with those early batches though were faulty indoctrination and mental blocks, so Týr here doesn't have the best protections against PTSD and mental breakdowns. Feel no fear they told him. So i mean being his age he's had a pretty good list of battles, all 3 rangdan xenocides, siege of cthonia, buncha others. Eventually he started to doubt the lion's intentions, he knew he wasn't a traitor but felt he wasn't doing what was best for humanity and the legion. leading him to gather up with other such like minded fellas within his chapter. and now where that's led him, 10,000 years past the era he knew, hunted by his kin, all he really wants is to go home. Which i mean he doesn’t even know if terra is still around.
Wich now that I think about it, the keys of hel are basically the human version of necron biotransference
He’s a big downer
Missing a portion of your cranium does that
Who's the second one?
Elia
Which I mean Carlaen, Marwolaeth and Elia can all probably fit together.
Haven’t written too much for em
Guessing she's not a fem marine what's her role within a band of fallen?
Or he's just very feminine looking?
She trains their neophytes and new recruits
She’s a false astartes
Same sorta thing as Luther
Former knight of caliban and such
she underwent the whole process so she could continue to serve the Lion and the Legion, like her younger brother Gwydion would be. he himself becoming a fully fledged astartes. the whole time jump thing fucked her up more than him, she having only recently popped up in M37, coming back to see her not so younger brother as a company captain instead of the battle brother she left him as. and that's the underdeveloped gang
In the form of them 2
Think I have a single thing of gwydion somewhere
Yup here he is. Just from a goofy comic
Btw funny how everyone is serious looking and then this mf is having the time of his life
Hahahah
Yup yup
Was a deliberate thing just to show the sheer difference in demeanor and character that boy is
Which he’s actually the Warband leader
When you're looking for something to fight and you just happened to spot a giant carnifex
Would 100% be something he’d do.
Him or Gelert (he’s a bit obsessed with hunting nids)
Lmao at least i got that right
Way I put it I think is, first in, last to leave any engagement
Dude would do crazy shit before letting his men die under his banner
"Boss we are being overwhelmed by the ork horde"
"Give me the microphone i will taunt their leader to challenge me into a fist fight"
Man’s an Ironwing Warmonger Consul, gotta be versed in every weapon.
And boy those hands definitely count
Then I mean the other 2, Carlaen is a dreadwing company champion, 2nd in command to Knight Captain Sherman. during thramas at the battle of Yaelis, he would lose his arm to a night lord's chainglaive. in return the night lord would lose his life, Carlaen taking the chainglaive as a little bonus. up next is Marwolaeth, he's a former company ancient, same company as Carlaen. thing to note about my lads ancients is they don't carry banners, they keep tomes/book full of songs and stories to inspire their brothers. after a good amount of years in service Marwolaeth would find himself needing to be placed within the sarcophagus of a Levithan dreadnought. fun thing about that hulk of a dreadnought is it drives you insane, so while he's not the oldest of my dread, he certainly the most far gone. despite the mild case of insanity, he still finds himself capable of playing the pipe organ built into his chassis, continuing to inspire his brothers.
Carlaen is a pretty important dude to me cause he’s based off a friend of mine over in wales, fucker’s helped me a lot with this warband, just thought it was a nice thing to get him.
And yeah that’s really of those folks
Hopin to get more in the future but lore is a big thing I’m working atm. Cause what good are characters if they’re a literal blank page
This is probably the best place to read up on em, but even this has a couple errors I need to go back over and just so much missing stuff I need to add
Helps without having to write a literal essay in chats
I try not to make em read boring or seem like just a character dick sucking. So any feed back on literally anything would be super appreciated
i can attest to you that this is not in fact furry bait
Oh crap almost forgot Malcolm
Dudes a pysker
And he’s pissed most of the time
That’s
Really him summed up
Took me a sec but found the OG concept of him (blue) and a few other fellas
Ormias, Wʉtukai, Malcolm and Montag
All with varying degrees of lore
So a part from the big four, emperor and the remaining eldar gods, is there any other beings on the same scale as them?
In terms of power and or influencing reality.
Vash and Belakor are the closest to that sorta groups
Though even they aren’t to that extreme
Some t sons do some wild shit but that’s more a planet by planet basis. Lotta time shenanigans with them
Wait, is Malice still canon?
Malaysia isn't, but Malice was the 40k replacement of them, so...
Nah
*Malal.
He is but he is so forgotten that there is no point in remembering him
His current status is plot device
Ah.
The one that's not canon is malal
Honestly wondering how the sons of malice are doin
Probably chilling
Of course it's the white guy that blew up malaysia
So,
Malal and Malice.
Malal is not in 40k, and they're not even in WHFantasy anymore. They were the unique intellectual property of an author who left Black Library and took his IP with him. Malal was replaced by Necoho and another god whos name I forget cuz they're irrelevant.
Malice is a minor warp entity in the 40k universe. They're not aligned with any of the 4, which is the case for a LOT of unrelated warp entities. The warp is absolutely chock full of shit that doesn't care about The Great Game.
Malice, however, is a very minor player, even within the sphere of non-aligned entities. He, in current canon, has been summoned into realspace. Which is not something that can happen to any entity akin to the gods, and even summoning greater daemons is super hard unless the veil between realspace and the warp is basically already shredded.
Malice's only followers are the Sons of Malice, who are once-loyal successors to the blood angels who got ran out of the imperium because they were falsely accused of chaos stuff. This drove them to say "Fuck everyone. We're gonna retake our homeworld no matter who gets in our way. Fuck chaos, fuck the imperium, and especially fuck xenos.
They have 1 book and a novella that contains functionally every iota of actual canon lore that exists about Malice, and almost none of it has anything to do with the "community headcanon" about the God.
I literally have a copy pasta prepared for whenever this is brought up
Mr.Black did what he had to do
That's the sad part he is so minor you may as well forget about him
Mr black is probably a wanted criminal
Oh 100%
I’m probably going to be executed for this, but is it possible that the primarchs are more or less “Daemons” of the emperor since he’s essentially a warp entity?
More like Daemon Princes than Daemons
Well yeah, obviously powerful/high ranking ones
But if daemons are fragments of a warp entities being or will, I feel like that applies here
Living saint belong in that category as well i think
As for basic demons it would be the legion of the damned
I guess the living saints would be like the greater demons
Well Living Saint are really akin to Daemon Prince (To note that Daemon >< Demon), Primarch are more like greatly blessed Chaos Servants
Yes, and legion of the damned based on their explanation of their characteristics would be the basic demons like a blood letters or daemonette
LotD would be one of the lesser Daemon of the emperor true, not the onl one if memory isn't cheating me
onl?
only
Ah thanks
So what is the herald of the emperor then?
Primarch i guess
No
Named SM
Primarch being Greater Daemon
Then again, some characters are fitting in it's their uses as Heralds, like Lord Solar Macharius ||May his soul be safe||
Depends on if it’s ever expanded on. Cause they don’t really draw on his power as their own, more an inbuilt thing
True
every chaos traitors ever : fuck chaos
turns to chaos
One cool detail is that Malice can actually take form in the materium
Ench why it's most probably a demi-God/Greater undivided daemon a la vashtoor
They're not full warp beings
But
It's weird
Also yeah, primarchs have some warp stuff, but it's like saying an alpha level Psyker is a daemon
If you are looking for chaos marine daemons you have the Warp Ghosts that are literally time traveling skin walkers
And also a literal warband of horror villains seeing how they operate
I started thinking about that when I was thinking more about corvax in the warp taking a new form, but I guess that’s written off as “exposure to the warp” or whatever
yeah its just warp exposure
he isnt an avatar
It stems from the fact that the creation of the Primarchs included a pint of warp sorcery
so it resides within them
Just a lil sorcery
Ye, all of them are made with a hefty dose of Warp stuff
I guess that explains why we don't see primarchs from the age of technology
if they were made purely with archaetech then it would be weird that humanity didn't decide to upgrade themselves during the age of anything goes
Ye staying in the warp too long always mutates you somehow, unless you are mf kaldor draigo off course.
For example Corax got the raven form, Warp Ghosts became skinwalkers, a Craftworld became all ghastly and weird looking, Fire Hawks became the legion of the damned ecc...
Skinwalker ?
Also aren't the LotD something that happened before they went to the warp
why aren't veteran kriegers included in the new kill team season

also kroot got a killteam but not tau lmao
It’s just an update to the killteams from the fuckin what ever they called it era
The rules from the previous year will still be usable
gallowdark
Yeah
We are moving onto uhhhh
The crusade version of killteam era next right(
I forgot what it was called
The only rules that would be removed is that from the ‘oh fuck they don’t have rules’ compendium
it's weird seeing kasrkin in places like a space hulk
Didn't they come at the end of the previous one ? With the orks ?
80% imperium content goes hard
i barely know anything
i just know that veteran guardsmen are a thing and they're not on the wh community news post
this art goes hard
militarum equipment is so inconsistent
krieg look like they're from the great war and some regiments look like they're still stuck in the napoleonic era
meanwhile kasrkin on that pic look like they just came out of a tour of afghanistan
Its for flavor damn it
i find it cool
it's funny though
it's like writers can't find enough variety in modern militaries so they have to use entirely different eras to make their OC's unique
you can basically have mongolian horse-riders fight space elves on green goblin skateboards
Also its not really that
Modern military just doesnt fit 40k and looks weird
Its why Primaris are so glaring wih their tacticool nonsense
kasrkin look modern as hell
they have night vision and vox earpieces or whatever
i think they look less WW2 than the rest of cadian guard
Cadia itself being a mish mash of WW2 allies equipment
Late but theres a difference between This and This
what's the difference
the one on the left looks like it's from the 80's to 90's
that's pretty modern to me
drones were being used back then
the mass adoption of night vision technology for the average grunt is a big mark of the modern soldier
Yeah but its still not modern
its a box with cylinders
theres a reason 40k goes for something like this more lol
same with how the Dorn tank literally has an exposed back-gunner
as an aside i want to get nerdy here and point out that the big lamp there is an infrared light that's invisible to the naked eye but is picked up by the goggles. first generation night vision didn't amplify light so you had to create your own source
it's basically a flashlight that's only visible to you
cold war night vision technology used very expensive lenses that have holes in them at an angle so that light would bounce in them in a specific way that multiplied photons in a process i dont understand. it quite literally amplified the light
more modern technology also uses electronic photoreceptors to amplify light so you get a much clearer image that's also sharper due to less noise from defects in a lens
It's not modern only to us young lings, Janitor is old
we might disagree on whether they would be considered modern or not but kasrkin definitely don't have WW2 era technology
Since when are lasgun WW2 era technology
you know what actually
im beginning to think cadian aesthetic is more early cold war than WW2
Cold War ain't exactly modern in therm of American military (For Russian it's debatable)
i don't think debating over the word modern will get anywhere
it's a term so dependent on the era of the time it's applied that the word postmodern had to be invented because some assholes in the 60's had to claim it
anyways the reason i say cadia seems like early cold war is because of the lasguns
select fire chunky guns are a big part of that era
they still used bulky radio backpacks back then too so vox guys make sense
and body armour for the average grunt started early to mid cold war
the rogal dorn tank also seems inspired by early cold war. tanks back then still looked like they could have fought in WW2 but for a time they were very chunky
at least for americans and soviets
god i love soviet tank wiki pages
wikipedia only uses those links when the lists are so long they won't even fit in the boxes
1891-present
i wouldn't be surprised if some terran guard regiment uses mosins
Cadians dont really have an aesthetic
they were very much just influenced by early 2000 A.D trooper guy with a mix of Starship Troopers.
Nowadays they are just updated more to be a bit more U.S Military in some ways since Green Army Men is a thing
Though they are very much less blunt in inspiration than the other Guard regiments who are entirely inspired by movies or IRL armies thats for sure.
i guess so. they do seem overly generic
which is why i dislike them
The new killteam season is only for the Gallowdark teams
Is literally the answer why
if you want the DKOK rules buy the killteam annual
or the Killteam octarius books
Eh, depends where you look at for legion
Ye, warp ghosts have to switch bodies every once in a while as the ones they have tend to rot/disintegrate slowly while in the warp
Wait did Skinwalker do that in mythos ?
I though they were a name for the Native American goat thingy
Idk I’m not big on mythology aside from Chinese and Greek lol
Skinwalkers are different from wendigos
Depending on the region
Skin walkers are evil witches who can steal other peoples forms or turn into animals
Wendigo are just a straight up super natural being that eats human flesh iirc
my culture's mythos are inspired by a lot of indigenous beliefs
What's your culture ?
french canadian
Mine mostly has Dwarfs, Ghouls, and then divine and malefic animals
i was surprised to learn that bigfoot is a real character in some indigenous cultures
Also a Giant whose hand is really important for the northerners
you should see inuit mythology
crazy as hell
but yeah a problem a lot of people seem to have is they view indigenous mythology as one single thing
it's like believing america is a single culture represented by a new yorker
Oh yeah the various cultures/tribe can possibly considered to be different mythos on their own
Has there ever been a steam tank mentioned in 40k?
The Tangar Woad Raiders...
oh hey the fire drakes were in my last soul drinker book
No
if you want steam tanks fantasy
Though in some ways a nuclear reactor is a steam engine
Wendigo are people who go too much into being a cannibal basically
Neat sorta creature in the stories of my mothers tribe. A sorta owl ogre, acts a bit like Krampus, takes children in their bags who wander off.
Found that out after I made an owl “man” animal for my fallen’s planet. Was a nice coincidence
piamupitsi̠ is the name
That’s very intresting
Story is they got kicked up to the moon by a baby buffalo
That’s what all the craters and “faces” are
Now that I think about it excluding roman mythos we got two dragons and the cockatrice
doesn't italy have a ton of catholic myths
I mean, all three I mentioned are from catholic era myths
But I don't know any specific non generic Christian myths
doesn't rome have gargoyle myths from all the statues
This might be a silly question, but can space marines jump like regular humans or do they require their jump packs
Terminators probably can't jump
Space marines can jump if i recall
They can defintely jump in regular power armor
And probably a superhuman jump too
but in terminator armor? Probably just a typical 2~ft jump like any base human
It's less they can't jump and more they have to consider if what they're about to jump on can take their landing
Why do you think i purposely land on that poor cultist when i play bolt gun
They are nothing more than filth under my boot
I forgot, was there a story how, either a dreadnought or a terminator, got stuck in the mud, and due to the weight, they had to be pulled out with a crane?
Yes
‘Wait!’ yelled Telemenus, but his warning came too late. The audio pick-ups brought the sound of splintering woods and crumbling ferrocrete followed by an almighty crash.
Daellon cursed without pause over the vox.
‘Report,’ barked Arbalan.
‘Brother Daellon misjudged the load bearing of some internal stairs, brother-sergeant,’ said Telemenus, trying not to laugh. For once he was glad somebody else was attracting the negative scrutiny. There was a chuckle from Cadmael and a sigh from Arbalan.
‘Daellon, can you climb out?’ asked the sergeant.
‘Negative, a three metre drop at least. The floor will not hold my weight to pull myself up.’
‘No threats detected,’ Telemenus added, his auspex sensors encompassing the long row of huts.
‘Understood,’ said Arbalan. He sounded impatient. ‘Daellon, remain in place, I will signal for an armoury extraction team. Telemenus, rejoin the squad.```
From Master of Sanctity
It's always the Dark Angels who do this ridiculous silly shit
It was also a Dark Angel who had to deliver a baby and just could not comprehend the idea of child
‘What is it?’ Allix asked.
‘I thought that was obvious.’ Rephial looked at the Vostroyan in the same way he had regarded the child. ‘It’s a baby.’
‘I think the Guardsman meant what gender is the child?’```
Space Marine athletics are genuinely hilarious though. Like it's physically impossible for a human to run that fast, because even though they might pick up their foot superhumanly fast a human speed is limited by the fact that legs are pulled down by gravity when they run, limiting their speed to terminal leg velocity.
So space marines in games and shows move much slower than they do in text, because whenever it's accurately portrayed (like in Arma III Only War mods) its the most ridiculous x4 speed loony tunes shit
The funniest thing is how he shuffles it to Ezekiel "You check it!" Like he's too weirded out to even answer lmao
Oh that’s hilarious. The last time I read something in 40k that made me laugh was when Sanguinius threw some fruit at Horus in in the ‘Rising’ book when they were discussing about the Interex.
But yeah, the D.As, despite their edginess and paranoia, sometimes find themselves in wacky situations. So visualizing an Apothecary holding a baby with one of his hand is funny.
ong I thought I was reading some server rules I havent aware off
Love that whole section
Ezekiel holds the kid and sees her entire life
It’s awesome
I really liked the portrayal of the space marine running at full tilt in Astartes.
demon engine lore https://www.warhammer-community.com/2023/08/15/exemplary-battles-of-the-horus-heresy-daemon-engines-arrive-to-reap-a-bloody-toll/
wait the leviathan dread was created by the emp himself?
It was made on terra so I guess this is an expansion of that
The bolter wasn’t invented by Jimmy space tbf
We know that bcs techno barbarians had them
Speaking of techno barbarians, are there modern day equivalents in 40k
Usually just lost colonies and warlords
That hate the imperium
Usually the imperium tends to uh do the thing
Imperium, pull the lever!
The genocideinator 9000
"Prank'em John"
"You already know"
Mass genocide commences
*y'all ready know
It's just one guy talking to another person
But i appreciate the correction
I saw a 40k tabletop video yesterday where a pinned commenter was calling american english a degenerated version of proper english
im joking haha
the only grammar mistake i care about is "then" and "than" being used incorrectly
The only time i corrected someone is when they get something wrong about warhammer
i thought you'd make an ork language joke
I'm stupid not Smart
When i realized the opportunity the opportunity already passed
actually what's up with the ork language? do they speak really bad english or is their language not even comprehensible to humans in 40k
Their words are brutal and straight to the point that it appears crude to us
While a lot of languages are you know fancy
Orks don't need it to be fancy to work
But they do speak clearer the bigger they are
but is it an actual language or bad english like how they speak from their perspective
It seems to be a very botched version of gothic
They take you know pieces of other language that they like and make it orky
Especially low gothic
then why don't guardsmen and space marine understand them
this soul drinker book says their language is mostly insults lol
They do but pretty sure 90% of the time it's insults
Pink skin
Beakiez
man how can a species be so terrifying yet so funny
It's just the way they are,
But going back with the language, you can learn it because you know it's basically jumbled up together words is specially the most prominent one being low gothic
But what's the point you're never going to use it unless absolutely motherfuckingly necessary
The tau diplomats that tried to use the language got turned into mush
lmao
Because of course they tried to talk with orks
It's the one that handles diplomacy
The water caste but
I'm pretty sure they are often with a group of fire caste
As bodyguards of course
Could a well built bunker survive an extreminatus?
Isn't virus bombardment barred by the Imperium?
No ?
Wasn't there something about inquisitors coming to the conclusion that virus bombardment empowered Nurgle?
It’s not recommended
But it’s not banned
Cyclonic torpedos are also just easier to use
Ah.
Virus bombs you need to ignite them afterwards
many space marines survived the virus bombing of istvan III by hiding in the bunkers built by the planet's civilisation
one of the most pivotal moments of the early heresy
some also survived by hiding deep underground
i doubt it. just because it has the word virus in it doesn't mean it's something nurgle would enjoy. The plague god is all about long term suffering, he would not create a pathogen that immediately kills its host because it goes against the process. He's the god of decay, not the god of death
side note: even the imperator titan on the planet had to completely shut down and seal itself to not fall victim to the virus bomb. It's implied that a dreadnought could survive the virus because the occupant is completely sealed off from the outside world. A space marine though will immediately dissolve
there is a legend in the Black Crusade TTRPG books that state that Nurgle once personally intervened to saw a planet of his followers from a Virus bomb exterminatus by swatting the Inquisition’s ship from orbit. The virus still leaked and infected people, but the faithful remained… “healthy” and considered the infection a boon.

i'll be honest, that's pretty dumb if true
it completely nerfs the weapon if anything can survive it
Its literally just a specific example on a niche scenario, theres nothing saying this is a absolute setting-encompassing fact.
yeah it's ok if it's some sort of legend in the setting
but like, the virus bomb isn't an infection lol. it's literally the 40k equivalent of the classic sci fi "gray goo" apocalypse
honestly should have been called a nano bomb
ok ok but
it's like saying you can survive a bullet by microdosing yourself with lead
there's my joke of the day

Tbf there’s already one of those
With a wild name I can’t even remember
surprising lack of nanite weapons in 40k
guess it doesn't fit the theme of low tech
Ok found it
Silica-virae
still interesting since pretty much all other classic sci fi weaponry is somewhere
Yeah because they aren't really super high on the tech tree.
Theres a reason Necrons and Eldar got the most advanced tech on the setting.
oh shit you're right necrons have the scarabs those are like nanites in spirit right?
Kinda
they eat shit
idk
Jay are you alright
i literally dont know anything about necron except old ones lore
im way too into knowing every single model of the leman russ ever made
But necron tech is basically so advanced that it basically looks like magic to us.
like their crypteks can just touch you and turn you into any material just to kill you

irrelevant lore is what i excel at

Terrible.
but necron tech is hilariously broken
its why their got the crutch of "Oh they are senile" or "dynasties cant agree and constantly squabble"
otherwise their basic infantry can literally kill tanks
do their guns shoot plasma
googling rn
its their main weapon "ammo" type
i accidentally wrote gayss
its called gauss "flayer" because it de-atomizes you layer by layer until you are dust as seen in the gif
at least its semi-quick
if you get shot in the face

is it like eldar stuff where you feel every atom of you expoding
you literally get de-atomized
So yes
Mfw the Necrons just zip a warp tear closed 👴

yeah in 40k's case its just used because it sounds cool
are you fucking kidding me
they use the name of a real ass scientist and then change it entirely 💀
I mean yes
because who gives a fuck

Arkhan Land Moment btw
its the same as how almost nobody knows the word Zeppelin comes from the guy who made em.
after awhile it doesnt matter
yeah but if you call your sports car a zeppelin then people will be asking questions soon
Gauss weapons aren’t like irl gauss weaponry because fuck you
yeah because its already associated with something else
that too lol
Most necron guns are painless deaths
Except for uh
The destroyers
They have a gun they makes you shit yourself to death
what about shot in the foot
You still die
what if i saw off my foot before the infection hits me
walking dead has taught me nothing

And that’s an incomplete hit
yeah you can hear the guy scream in the trailer
Tbf it’s pretty fast
once the gauss breaches the helmet and into his skull thats when he properly dies
but like
can armour survive gauss
The most painful guns in the setting are nid ones
Kinda
Usually no
But sometimes yes
its 2-3 shots
Glancing hits == you’ll be fine
and necrons travel in packs
Direct hit == good fucking luck
There’s a marine in the indomitus trailer who just eats shit
It’s really funny
Yeah just takes a gutshot then collapses and fucking dies
KEK
unlike in the levithan trailor where a nid eats automatic cannon to the body and shrugs it off
yeah because thats fucking bullets
Walking dead taught me, if you ever are fighting a group, kill the ginger first.
They don’t do super great into marines either
But yeah basically
necron tech is OP
every one of their gear is broken
no nerfs required
what happened to that librarian in the leviathan trailor
he got his brain melted
Pretty pretty dead
was he putting on a force field
Yeah
Failed his save roll
He had a psychic heard up as well
like 3 of them lol
oh right
wtf how can nids make psykers
The little dudes
Just connected to the hive mind and all
they are literally the pinnacle of bio-engineering
Yeah
and they consumed psykers in their first foray into the Milky Way
They all sorta have a psychic connection
so they juts learn and adapt
The nids are “perfect”
imagine a fleet absorbs an alpha+ psyker
Even without em
We got that new fucker
is there anything nids are bad at
Uhhh
Big motherfucker
because Nids need a weakness
otherwise they are too OP
and heroic imperials gotta win
aren't they shit in naval battles
I mean no
Sorta
^
Tau made a virus against em. Likely immune to it by now
^
i heard the only thing that can properly stop a fleet is a battle in orbit
Kinda
Nid fleets are at their "weakest" when they are at the process of consuming a planet after the war is nearly over
once they make planetfall its do or die
Honestly let’s just put the orks against the nids more. Even more Octarius Wars
Yeah nothing went wrong
Nothin at all
literally just virus bomb all planets simple as
Late heresy lion moment
they can't win if they can't eat
Still trying it
you cant bomb every planet they come to
DID HE FAIL THOUGH
100%
corrupt imperium's fault
The lore said it was the biggest imperial-made human atrocity casualty-wise since the horus heresy
which is fucking hilarious

Lol
i like that they keep a tally of that
I’m sure the inquisition knows what it’s doin
Kryptman literally went full McArthur
"Drop 35 nukes on the Korean border with China."
yes he actually said this
tangy flavor
Honestly now that lion’s back
Can’t wait to see him fight the nids

Oh 100%
That’s g-man’s job rn
he saw the intro to 40k and decided to outgrimdark everybody
I just wanna see King Arthur stab a big bug in the face
ultramarines are quickly becoming the nid marines
they go so well together
they share the same personality
wow
So expanding on my bunker question, the imperium couldn't just exterminatus the surface of a planet while keeping the Admech or IG on the planet sealed in a vault?
what kind of vault
Not worth the time
this is a very specific type of question
When exterminatus is called
It’s usually a planet is lost with no way of getting it back
Hit the button
Besides
A few trillion dead is nothing
In the grand scheme of things for the imperium
the only time those wusses evacuated something it was to save GW top selling guard models
Lol
yeah like
Most of the named Cadians weren’t even on Cadia
im not saying this to be snarky
Lol
but the Imperium officials dont think like we do
they just see anything as expendable
they are stupid and stalinist POV wise
Wonder how imperial higher ups view space marine chapter worlds. Compared to everything else atleast
no taxes 😎
The blood angels got bailed out by FUCKING KHORNE
Well the BA deserved it
The blood angels and all their sucessors who showed up would have died
imagine being so cool that the government says "you've done enough" and doesn't tax you? that's astartes worlds
Without khorne’s intervention
Kabandah single handily let all the blood angels on Baal secundus evacuate
Astartes recruits dont need to be dragged through hell to be good recruits, thats Marines being incredibly needlessly darwinistic for no reason.
With his presence lol
Roboute very much says this to Dante
Ultramar is a realm so
Well
hey can i pull something out of soul drinker lore that's relevant here
The teenage boys except?
for a while the new recruits weren't brainwashed during the implant process because they wanted them to remember what made them rebels before astartes
so they kept their personalities before becoming space marines and they still act human
Caliban was awesome thank you very much
Such
Great living conditions
blood
There’s not much to tax on caliban
Idk probably the ore that can survive direct contact with phosphex
Or the tree sap that can melt primarch power armor
those sick bastards can't keep hoarding all the blood
Caliban is literally Turkey
including the patriarch population
who have mustaches and beards

it's one word away from something
Idk what this is
But it gets the message across
oh wait caliban is dark angels
And the Fallen.
Vashtorr is a gigachad like that
Ahhhhhh Wyrmwood
get fucked Azrael
they're the ones hording the blood
It’s a really really big shithole
I cannot believe Vashtorr turned an entire planet into Agent Wyrmwood from Darktide
very interesting lore development
you sound like you went there before
Truly is the warhammer 40,000
I read the Dante book
He hates Baal
what's the best space marine planet
Or rather hated it
lmao
Like how
To live on as a normal person?
old man hates his own home
Mccrage prolly
other than ultrastan
Yeah Macragge or Chemos were good places.
But that means you might see Cato.

If we’re going like most interesting? I’d say fenris or caliban
Caliban alone could be it’s own story
Fenris is a death world, correct?
Yup
Yeah
Icy death world
guys i have a small tangent
who's the IInd primarch
Ah yes
The water that just kills you

Weird Al
It technically sucks out all your moisture
Wait, do the Raven guard have a recruiting world?
Ya
