Pirate it
Only xenos books I’d say are bad are like
A chunk of the tau and craftworld eldar ones
Legally you cant do that and cant recoomend that
nids is just supplement to space marine lore
I'm trying to look for a website where i can grab a few audiobooks for free
Because reading makes my brain want to grab a gun
Nids are generic enemy to supplement every factions lore
It’s like an Iron supplement
Votaan?
You mean the better imperium?
you can get audiobooks for like 7$
For someone who’s anemic
Votaan don’t exist till they get a book
I had a mega file back in 2016 that had almost every single warhammer book evermade on it
I wish I still had that file
Or a real codex
That's a lot of money here in the Philippines
They have 0 lore rn
Except for the stupid ass Horus heresy stuff they released
Out of no where
In white dwarf
what's your paypal i'll send you the pocket change
Nah
The LoV were in the heresy
On both sides
But they never fought each other
?????
Also no one ever questioned them about their tech
Or salvaged their gear
but they look cool
Bcs the dark mechanicum absolutely would have slaughtered them
For their equipment lol
I think they entirely exist for the deep rock galactic players
their vehicles look like futuristic camper vans
They’re just boring bcs 9e codexes have 0 lore
And GW keeps n trying to shoehorn them in
Like holy fuck
Squats were around during the heresy
But not the LoV according to their own damn codex
LoV more like dwarf tau
They basically just got imperial tech but better, and they live somewhere where you can't normally access it, and their cores are quirky?
They should just scrap everything they have
Did i run that down right
its making them a bajillion dollars they do not care
It’s a totalitarian regime
Everything is focused on efficiency
Usual dwarf stuff
And they’re doomsday peppers
They aren’t greedy in the sense that they want material wealth
They’re greedy in the sense that they’re Uber paranoid
Cave dwelling rock Eaters the lot of them
and horde literally everything they can
Also unlike usual dwarf elf dynamics
They like eldar that aren’t dark eldar
And they trade regularly with corsairs and exodites
What do they think of the other races again
Humans == bad
Mechanicus == very bad
Tau == useful trading partner but too exposed
Chaos == kill at any costs
Orks == kill at any costs
Necrons == good loot
Nids=stop eating us
Yeah
They have pretty “normal” relationships
For a warhammer faction
Also dark eldar == avoid at any cost
A pretty surprising thing in this universe
Tbf that's what happens by being a merchant race
If the imperium finds out that they have living breathing ai and sentient STCs
Yeah
They will do more than just that
The leagues just say "yep there gods nothing to see here"
But they really really don’t like the imperium
The only reason they work with them is bcs
They’re abhumans
And they can usually present as independent groups of squats
I mean who does?
The imperium if you're not a member of it is one of the worse
The orcs like the imperium
Weirdos on the internet 💀
Also yeah orks like the imperium
It’s a good scrap
As enemies not allies, very rarely do the imperium hire Orks as allies
As Allies no one likes the imperium long term
Tbh
But they’re by far the best worst option
Well the umies tell us boys to fight some spiky lads, and then wez gets to fight the umies after!
Classic ork tomfoolery
Tbf not even the imperium likes the imperium as allies
Yes
The son of their ruler literally said, "Horus should have won"
Tbf only two brotherhoods are confirmed to have joined the tau
Wich is like, one ship
And one of the small ones by Votann standard too
I like the idea of humans, outlaws, and rogue space marine elements like the ashen claws working for the leagues like deep rock galactic
Like an underground coalition?
Yeah pretty much, the ashen claws are 30k raven guard that went on their own, they aren't powerful and are I think close to being wiped out but they exist
Found this post on another server, gonna post it whenever the Malice crazies act up
I'd hope it becomes more common now that Nihilus is cut off
And even if some places stay loyal they're effectively not part of the imperium anymore and have to become self sufficient
Ashen claws are exiled Terran parts of the raven guard
Yeah, stuff like that existing in the post heresy era with black shields and stuff
Same with Carcharadons
Yee they're the raven guard that liked horus' tactics more
Carchs got kicked out for being slavers lul
And both groups have a pact with the other.
We kind of had that in Iron kingdom
But then you know indomitus rolled up on their doorstep
I do think a faction that hates chaos but it's mostly hated by the imperium for a past shame but still does the right thing is a cool idea
So vostroyans?
Well they hate more themselves than the imperium hating them
Oh yeah, Relictors too technically
Krieg ? ||Eww||
I mean it'd have to be a bigger shame, like being responsible for killing thousands of Marines during the drop site massacre, where a chapter will go out of its way to try and kill you
EXTREMELY based
But still within the imperium or outside of it?
Outside, self reliant mostly from intense relic acquisition during the scouring and working for the votann living usually in the galactic core area
Is there any recent lore that has Orks using tinboyz?
reminds me of the lets fuckin g go meme
'babe its time for your being used to make character look cool batter'
'ERE WE FUCKING GO"
I think the last time I heard that phrase was from Fury Road?
The World is not ready for Gork and Mork
Could any ork evolve back into koroks?
I’ve heard the theory that gazgoul thraka or however you spell it is basically already one but idk
He's not an krork he's approaching it but not there
The closest would be the beast
And that guy was just a semi krork
Yet he was already capable of going toe to toe with a Primarch
And the beast orks were horrifying, your basic boy are the size of nobz and nobz are the size war bosses
But to answer this question yes in the right environment under specific conditions you can get one
They are nearly 12 m tall and the beast was 10
So if the beast won we could've gotten a krork
Damn
Also the beast wasn’t in Krork power armor
Which is made out of wraithbone and other materials
Eldar, Krorks and the old ones were all on the same side
Is literally the answer
And Wraithbone is a old ones creation the eldar utilized heavily
From a lore perspective all the good eldar stuff got lost during the fall
Or is in the dark eldars possession

Dark eldar don't use wraithbonr
They don’t
Because they aren’t psychic
But they still have huge stockpiles
Of eldar empire equipment they can’t use
Because they need to be psychic to use them
And they don’t share with the craftworlds lol
But after the Krorks went out of control the eldar killed them so hard they devolved + they ran out of stuff to fight properly to grow that large
I still want to see a Vorgh appearance someday, being the only current intelligent species naturally As big as titans
Lmao it reminds me of Valedor
where the Dark Eldar give a spirit-nuke to the Craftworlders to destroy the nids on the battle they are gonna fight in.
And the dark eldar is like
"Oh did I mention you gotta sacrifice some seers of yours as trigger-men for the bomb to go off? Haha fucking morons lmaooo"

Remember that if the beast won we would have gotten Eye of Terror 2.0 due to the Golden Throne and the infinite daemon farm right under it
So basically war in heaven 2.0 but krorks vs chaos
oh damn
that's something to see
the eternal WAAAAGH
oh hey dilara, so if I play DND Grimgor would be an orc fighter with the great weapons feat and heavy armor right
pretty much!
Thats what black orks in fantasy are
the most elite and heavy armored ladz
what about megabosses are they fighters too?
now here's the interesting question who will win in a fight Grimgor or a basic megaboss
Grimgor.
Hes a named character and is also a beast in combat.
He literally goes to skaven invested dwarf holds and murders the entire populace just for sport.

dnd party: an orc fighter as a boss?
this should be easy
the orc in question
i think if he somehow survived he would give gordrakk a run for his money

Not just a normal Skaven infested place. He pushed in a tunnel which was used by Clan Moulder and pushed them back. And left cause he got bored
hes a gigachad like that
i used to hate the color of iron jawz, but my brain was like then just change the color
Before the ET. During it I would say its more difficult to say
iron jawz make armor in the most metal way possible though
They literally beat the metal into their skin
That's fucking cool
AoS orks are legit crazy
the shroom goblins even more so
they get OP by doing weed
You remember that old boar boyz that are terrifying because they charge the front lines with enough force to send everyone flying, take that and make the boars and orcs even bigger

I'm pretty sure Gruntas are boars
"Hammer God never understood Gorkamorka, never saw. Gorkamorka wants to fight forever, but the Hammer God doesn’t. Hammer God wants to build walls and towers and castles... But what’s the point of that if you never knock them over? Even the Chaos-things don’t understand. They think the point is to kill everyone, but then who’d be there to fight? Nobody understands but Ironjawz, because we’re the smartest and the toughest." - Gordrakk
Mushroom beer
Don't like them though
When pancreas no work said that Gordrakk is orc einstein I didn't believe him first but god damn he's right
Me fr fr
I mean, he's the ork who literally deus ex machina'd storm of chaos
\707
reading the lore paints a very different picture of Tertium. Game play wise its your point A to B but lore it's an active frontline battlefield like Squad and such. It's a little jarring lmao
the short stories were a fun read
You can see firefights off in the distance in most missions
We are a spec ops team going behind enemy lines and overrun positions for objectives.
ah that makes more sense then
Yeee its why most positions you enter have PDF guardsmen holding chokepoints
its mostly environmental storytelling and stuff you can hear sometimes from your commanding officers over the radio so its not super in your face most of the time.
yeah, me and a friend noticed some Leman Russ's fighting on a bridge in one of the missions
Yeah and you can see active dogfights overhead in Throneside and in the trainyard mission.
Or a lot of dead pdf guardsmen
Sometimes dead enforcers spawn
They mention those a ton
They're demolishers
You go into the factory that makes them at one point
Or was it just the metal fab, dunno
we had a laugh when 2 pox bursters spawned behind us in an area with the guardsmen lol.
Funny thing is that demolishers kinda suck for this but it's the only variant the Planet makes
Lmao
no cover fire moment

but also yeah they are basically static animated people so lol
not even NPCs
Set dressing
yeah, though i do like when devs add stuff like that, fleshes out the world and area
he got me into 40k just recently, he's been a fan for years
It's like how in
Uhh
Space Marine
You had like squads of 5-10 guardsmen standing around
Like they shot and stuff but dealt no damage
ye, just adding flavor
Or how in dawn of war 1
You can find squads of guard scattered around
But the majority are pretty useless and die to a stiff breeze
literally me

Such lore going on here
You started it

Wolfdawgartcorner
tbh its kinda spooky looking at the warp rift from the Morningstar
like space and light travel blah blah so it's in reality far far away but yet its so close
Seeing how this map was made before Atoma Prime
What's everyone's thoughts on Abbadon and Huron sparking a war with each other?
They are?
Are they?
Chaos against Chaos ? Nothing really out of the ordinary
Don't know, but I'll put my money on Huron any day
Sad we are never gonna know where the Moebian Domain actually is

Especially considering it's the size of 2/3 of Ultramar
Huron is a fanatic so he may be goaded into stopping Vashtorr?
If anything, I can see Lorgar or Perturabo trying to stop Vashtorr from reaching his goal.
Why?
I don't think Lorgar would be happy with a daemon trying to an equal being to the big four.
The fucker got gifted an Ark of Omen what you talking about mate
I have heard that Perturabo wants to become a god himself, so maybe he'll see Vashtorr as competition?
Oh no wait i confused it with the Blackstone fortress
And their Starfort
Yeah Abby bribed him for his help way back
But Chaos worshippers are always so trustworthy
And Abby is trying to flee from the grip of the big 4
Maybe the return of Fulgrim will involve Abby getting forced back towards the big 4.
so what separates the Imperium and Khorn?
that the Imperium does it out of "survival"?
Theres no seperation tbh, the Imperium kills for the sake of killing since its incredibly genocidal, they are one of the biggest reasons why Khorne prospers as a god across the galaxy.
In the case of chaos though its "subtle" so almost no Imperial Army really has any idea that their actions of bloodshed feed him
The imperium actively feeds khorne all the time lol
With how much violence they perpetrate and how bloodlusted their soldiers are
One just isn’t worshiping chaos while doing it lol
The difference is that the imperium doesn't actively worship khorne
And then it stops there
Lol
Yeah
The imperium has slightly less gladiatorial death arenas
But that’s not a high bar

tbf, I wonder just how much your average foot soldier knows, with the whole grey knights doing secret killings against chaos infestations and well the imperium most likely killing you for the smallest amount of taint.
Knowledge of chaos daemons being real is a lot more common now
Mostly since
Almost nothing to a lot depending on the regiment and deployment zone
There’s a giant goddamn warp scar cutting the galaxy in half
And daemons pour out of it
oh yeah lmaoo, thats true.
The grey knights only kill now if it’s like
Absolutely fucked
I.E Warzone Charadon
But they didn’t bother at vigilus
For example the Moebian Domain is Heavily about hiding almost everything that happens in the Fringe Wars
With the Moebian 6th not even being hailed as heroes at their return even through they are the most decorated and elite regiment
Or in general hiding bad stuff under a good guise like how Enricc Baross is hailed as a hero but apparently not so much in the Inquisitorial archives

Meanwhile a place like Ultramar post Plague Wars would be very much more lenient with their knowledge of chaos after they got invaded by the full might of the Plague Legions
Especially cause you can't just purge five entire really important sectors
true
It's another writer thing, no hard and fast rule how much the average person would know
Abnett basically has own Canon where pretty much knows daemons exist and more or less how they work
Something something galaxy is a big place
Anyone got any ideas what the Grey Knights Terminus decree could be?
The thing that will either destroy or save the imperium if implemented?
I like the theory that it's instructions on how to turn off the golden throne
We do know that it's specifically a "secret" written on a slip of paper
And the seal on the box is the golden throne itself which is supposed to be the "big hint"
But honestly I don't think even GW knows and if they ever decide to do something with it, it's probably going to be thought up a few months before it's printed
But yeah, off switch for the throne, or the emperor's true name, or some kind of spell that will ressurect the emperor before he's "ready"
Something something Grey knights touch the throne and all hell breaks loose
It most surely regards the death of the emperor
Now if that's due to a possible nu star child thingie or just to have him fully Ascend as a god its another thing entirely
With probably something regarding the Lion sword thing considering what happens in the last Cypher book
So something they'll save for the 40k version of the end times?
so is there a consensus about what the next big lore event will be
Prolly just more nid stuff
But beyond that no
We don’t even know if GW is doing warzone supplements this edition
Ironic
But that would be better then how it is rn for clowns
What if they brought a new Harlequin named character... but make it available only to an Imperial faction
Again
So here's an odd question, but if GW bring back Dorn, will they give him a robot hand to replace the one he lost?
Probablyt
No he will get a pirate hook
Some people think we he will get the Emp's Gauntlet thingy
What if it’s just the emperors left hand fuckinh super glued on
Makes sense. Better be the greatest power fist in existence.
Why is it less amazing if the emperor is a man, rather than a god?, to the IOM?
Surely that is better, "look at the almighty power of the Man Emperor, and what we may become, etc..."
Manifest destiny
There's also like
5 layers of propaganda stuff to it
If he was just a guy then he could make mistakes and be doubted
But if you doubt the sacred word of a living god you can just be killed
Why aren't there more pirates
We got vampire coast, dwarf slayer pirates, and that's it
Ashen Claws are pirates.
Same reason irl religion doesn;t
Because a God represents a powerful idea and culture.
That said the Greek gods are basically humans with to much power sleeping with everything with 2 legs ||some times 4|| and getting angry over everything.
it's easier to bring down a man than a god
Do high elves use crossbows
in what setting?
if you're talking about warhammer fantasy, it seems only the dark elves use it
Damn I wish elves did that would be cool
And red corsairs
And the Eldar corsairs
And Freeboota
And also regular pirates too
We got
- Chaos Pirates
- Human Pirates
- Eldar Pirates
- Alien/Human Pirates
etc etc
The large issue of this stems from the fact that 40k makes the galaxy itself seem extremely small where you just assume theres no vacuum of space where small factions or pocket groups like this exists.
Rogue traders are legal pirates yeah
They arent pirates
going by IRL terminology they are Privateers
the pirates im talking about are actual human pirates
I'm surprised those exist must be pretty good at hiding
It's a useful skill set

Speaking of remembering stuff, I just remembered this is basically what happens to bane wolf victims
They got owned
Perks of carrying a giant gun capable of shooting corrosive sludge and having a literal gun that shoots microwaves to boil the insides of people as a secondary
When you're fighting insects the Geneva convention becomes the Geneva suggestionn
Pirate talk got me back on Kaarja Salombar. I am obsessed with this woman
I still find it funny that's one of the only instances of Eldar actively working for chaos
Maybe she got bullied for not having her soul owned by Slaanesh so she decided to give it over willingly
Out of curiosity i looked her up, and it's implied that she apparently has eldar blood?
She has Eldar corsairs under her command and can keep up in melee with space marines
She's basically Eldar without being said outright
that's fair
Yeah she's either a really toned down Eldar or a really kicked up human
She's always treated as if she's human even though she has an eldar face and does eldar shit
And of course it's a secret how she's that badass
She's only really heavily mentioned in one novel and one short story though
She was mentioned in 5th edition very passingly
Her death sounds badass and makes me like Sicarius more
Oh he makes a whole speech about it
after he kills her he actually reads almost like TTS Sicarius lmao
very, very hammy
I will give her my respect though because she is pretty amazing
Is that while he's trying to piss on Corsair morale?
...
"The question is irrelevant, sergeant,” said Sicarius, taking the banner from him. “I was not wrong, and I have won a great victory for the Second and the Ultramarines. That is all that matters, do you understand?”```
idk he just feels like a bit of a self absorbed dickhead to me here
I do like him in the Dark Imperium books tho
He killed the only 40k woman I would ever even consider for waifu though, so I am writing a letter to GW asking them to reconsider their current ultramarines line and convince them that Guilliman doesn't really need a bodyguard
Time to hit more meme-people with an axe
Oh also he got a kill assist in that fight
Like she was already dying when he finished her off
I know, he holds her after getting stabbed then his buddy drives a flagpole through her
This sounds incredibly sexual for some reason
Write her as a daemon prince?
It's what happened to that one lady and Cain
Kept dying and becoming more daemony
Ew no she'd be a slaanesh character then
She can stay dead in hindsight
Oh I guess Felicia Tayber is also waifu material, but I forgot she exists because the elf pirate entered the room, so I guess she's my rebound
well, i mean every privateer is considered a pirate to the non-issuing nation, i bet rogue traders can be pretty loot and pillaging when it comes to non-imperium traffic
I mean yeah but that doesnt stop them from being privateers
sure, fair
They dont really man shitty ships with disease ridden crews that want to raid and pillage everything.
Compared to actual 40k/IRL pirates
at the end of the day it is basically the same thing i agree though, one just has its own term because they do it in more Style™️
Funny thing I noticed about hammer and bolter
Every faction is hand drawn, except marines
Marines are all 3d scans
yeah its stupid lmao
Oh hey dilara, i have another daily question for you, how much damage will an ork the size of a imperator titan cause to the universe of warhammer?
That is fair now i wonder how the factions will plan to bring down something like that
They will have to be pulling a lot of things out of their ass for this situation
"Quick, bring out the vegan we've been starving and drugging for the past 10,000 years"
"How is he alive"
"Not important"
Big bombs
Usually the go to for anything too large for conventional weapons
But to be fair a krork of that size would probably be wearing power armor of unthinkable mastery
They will need that shit to pack a real punch
Big bomb no care
Damnit this is way too good of an argument
You were overthinking, the ork way of doing things is usually not wrong
"Big thing? Make big bomb"
To be fair a krork is definitely not orky in thinking
And who knows the power armor might be big enough to have a shield capable of covering an entire hive city
Imperators are not hive city sized
And after a certain point, how advanced something is stops mattering provided the hammer you're using to break it is big enough
No matter how strong your building is, the force of a natural disaster will bring it down eventually
Breaking things is easier than making them unbreakable, or something
Tau already have an auxiliary species that can naturally go toe to toe with super heavy walkers
So I guess take that, but bigger and angrier
Proceeds to use a small Hive spire as a club
Turns tower into a power sword
Have they ever made the bane wolf's weapon use-able by infantry?
You literally can't as the toxic fumes would also melt the user lol
Ah.
That did slip my mind.
"Using such a horrific weapon is not without its risks as should environmental conditions change on the battlefield, the highly acidic clouds of gas can quickly drift over the Imperial Guard's own troops, killing and maiming infantry and even affecting tank crews if their vehicle is not completely sealed against such toxic airborne contaminants. So when a Bane Wolf rumbles past, it is up to a regiment's Commissars to ensure that the Imperial Guard troops do not immediately flee in fear of the death their own engines of war can unleash "
So yeah, maybe it could be reused by skitarii
But definetly not guard
Isn't there a Regiment that make a lot of use of Toxic flamer, look like Skitarii Rangers
Miasman redcowls
But it's not toxic as much as it's extremely foul smelling, they are in general more about flames than toxins
And they love their flames at basically a SoB level
How about servitors?
In general the less your flesh is needed the better for such a thing
And yeah combat servitors are basically lobotomized skitarii anyway
Usually they are less upgraded, so they would probably degrade much faster
But hey, if you want people unknownwingly bathing themselves in radiation/toxic stuff you can always look at the Van Saar boys
(Btw love of Necromunda ex guard member all sports parts of the rogue trader days armour)
??
It's literally just "Mcguffin it's hidden, treasure hunt time"
wich btw i still find it funny how the whole of arks of omen is just the setup for another setup before it will actually have a maybe proper climax
If it isn't just left there
That would be even funnier
Vashtoor trying to find the Lock would become the new "Ahriman searches for the Black Library"
Bruh
adeptus ridiculous legit gave Shy's cringe dating sim game ad an advertisement in their new video

I wanna die
Wot
The what
Full service San Francisco 1973: Q1054-3
https://youtu.be/3K5XHej1XpY
Hey we might be 40k fans first and foremost but don't you dare blaspheme against star-crosst
I will admit though uh
I need to check and see if you can turn the voice acting off
What's that
It's Shy's dating sim
Why's that
||Because as much as she makes fun of people for being degenerate and cringe shes also one
||
Not that im denying im not one either but still
I only waste my time on stuff that's worth it
Do you want to date a lizard?
No
coward
Birds are cooler anyway
I will say, they made
an interesting choice
which was making a dating sim in unity
The only other (well, good enough for me to remember) dating sim I know that does that is Heaven Will Be Mine, and to call HWBM a "dating sim" is being incredibly loose with the term
God for a second I thought it was a stronghold dating sim
Well, I briefly mentioned HWBM so I had to go on wikipedia and make sure it was made in unity
And then I see the artist is credited as "Max Schwartz" so I got really mad like "oh, are they just deadnaming her on wikipedia?"
And then I realized I didn't even know if she was trans in the first place and ended up on a scavenger hunt for her pronouns
tl;dr she's not trans she just changed her name to Max at some point when I stopped caring about her
That was my adventure for the day. Bonjour.
Question: Votaan genestealer cult,
Understandable
What if Ragnar is just Russ reincarnated
What if, I shoot you.
Hey Guys, i found the drive where slaanesh storage all its porn
STAY AWAY KHORNATE

What if, Dorn returned to overthrow the imperium?
That would be bad?
Dorn killed Abaddon and took his place
dorn sees the inefficiency in abaddon's crusades so decided to improve it
Or vulkan kills all the daemon prince primarchs what then?
I think dorn would take over just so another blackstone fortress didnt get lost
I heard he hid in word bearers flagship for months
Can the admech be effected as badly as your regular human when fighting nurgle?
Yes
Machinery can rust and they're not fully machine
Nurgle includes rust
And scrap code
And Glitchling
So a battle servitor infected by Nurgle would be possible then?
Yes
Even full Automaton would work
Or Vehicle
Damn.
Yeah the traitor legio cybernetica had “issues” with nurgle to say the least
I guess that can't appear in Darktide, because that's a Death Guard unit.
I mean
It’s a plague drone
It’s got the armor of a light transport
Nothing we have except the plasma gun, psyker weapons and power sword can realistically hurt it
Technically it’s a dark mechanicum unit lore wise
Also post Gellerpox creation the plague is literally just gonna fuse you to the machine anyway
I think a Sentinel would be in the top most of what we could expect in machinery
Yeah
The plague drone is more heavily armored
It is ?
And has all sorts of wonderful “gifts” to keep it going
Also yeah in dark imperium when odrameyer bashes his tank into Ku'Gath the tank literally starts to melt and rust away in minutes
Tabletop wise yes
And from a lore perspective I’d assume so
It’s a heavily infected Legio Cybernetica automata with a daemon shoved into it
And legio cybernetica automata are notoriously durable in lore
The glitchlings!
It’s a stretch but a demon army for vashtoor themed like these fuckeds woul be cool
God I'd love an actual cogs of Vashtoor army
Dark Mechanicum
Give it a faction that is personal/tied to Vashtoor
Yeah, I could see people being definitely interested with a dark mechanicum army.
I managed to make a friend get interested in Warhammer 40k, then his gf got interested in it (Mostly modeling/painting minis) and then she now has 2 or 3 AoS armies
Think he has a Space Wolf army, she now has Fish Elf, Sky Dwarf iirc and some Crow dude, though those are not really an army I guess
Yay another Kharadon enjoyer
Sadly due to the mix of tabletop being more niche around my parts, low income jobs and high costs of life it's kinda hard to pull people into the hobby here
Can you imagine if they add a Digganobz sub-faction for the orks?
Lol
A Digganobz Kill Team that can be picked for Ork would be quite fun
Or that Ogryn group that work for the Orks
Just how powerful is a tempestus scion anyway?
basically just imagine a Navy SEAL with an automatic lasgun
thats kind of it, they act and operate the same way
Except with fancy armor!
Tomorrow I'm gonna be trying to draw some canon chars, any recommendations?
most lasguns can be automatic
you'll often see people saying helgun but that's just another name for hot shot lasguns. they require backpacks as you can see on the scion
Better then a normal guardsmen in every way lore wise, they have better armor, guns, training and usually deploy from ships
Scions are usually a match for the best of a guard regiment
in the overall scheme of things, scions suck ass. all guardsmen are expendable, even kasrkin who are considered the top dogs
^
Being the cream of the crop of guardsmen still means you’re unfortunately a guardsmen
On the upside you’ll prolly live way longer and you have a much better gun
after a month and a half of learning about guardsmen im now an expert on this shit
Would it be weird for a fallen to wind up in the Red Corsairs?
No
The red corsairs aren’t picky on recruits
As long as you don’t like the imperium
And don’t hate chaos taint
Alright, going to make a primarily mortal group organized by a fallen
Also mortals in the red corsairs usually get a slightly less shit life
Then other legions
Most of the legions don't have functional empires ig
Yeah
They also are ironicailly quite diverse for a csm group
Due to how they recruit literally anyone who doesn’t like the imperium and doesn’t hate chaos
I've got this idea for him to run a web of cults/criminal groups through a bit of imperial space
With it being mostly centered on one planet
Sounds fun
How good is it? That's the main thing for me! Also their helmets!
You can survive a bolter shot sometimes
The armor will be ruined
But you’ll live
They get berets
So immediately +30000 for style points
Carapace armor is very durable against small arms fire or weak lasguns
Sometimes the hotshot is an overcharged (illegally) regular lasgun too. That's from luten though so I dunno
But it still suffers from guardsmen don’t get the best gear
Carapace armor is great for killing rebels, putting down riots and killing cultists
Real shit? That's awesome! Wait a human size bolter or?
But a tau pulse rifle is gona blow right through it in 2 shots
Just a bolter
Bolters that are human sized and marine sized use the same caliber
You can usually eat one and live in carapace
You’ll get a bunch of bones broken potentially and it’ll hurt
But you’ll live
Carapace armor is great against basic ork shootas as well
Man I really need a simulator type game to test all of this
But against anything like a bolter don’t expect to live more then a shot
Tbh tau pulse rifles are usually == to bolters or marginally better in lore
So I’m going off of that
Problem is when fighting most enemies with bolters
They know all this and will line shots up to double tap you and make sure you die
Against something like an eldar shiroken weapon you’re fucked
That stuff cuts through power armor like butter
Or some of the larger tyranid guns
Honestly yeah people dont realise how bad shuriken weapons are lmao
like imagine a bullet that literally twirls and cuts everything that it passes through 💀
Some of them explode
you will LITERALLY look like that guy that dies at the beginning of Cube

Shuriken weapons are up there in terms of lethal weapons in 40K
Their biggest “downside” is you have to be a psyker to operate them
which isn’t an issue for craftworld eldar
Yeah
At least theres worse alternatives
Tbf carapace armor does let you live dark eldar splinter weapons
Real shame the dark eldar want you alive
POV: You are about to get your soul SUCC'D
What are some chars that don't get a lot of artwork
How obscure are we talking
Like major character with no art
Or obscure ass mf’er mentioned in 3 lines in a codex
They exist and are talked about but just lack art
Honestly it's whatever, marines are easiest
👍
BRB
For dark angels Ezikiel, Saphion both of which are very important
Have like 0 art
If you want another chapter I can oblige but I’m lazy
Marbas might be cool to make
Why
that's so fucking metal
Maybe Marbas will get a model and take over as master of the fallen angels from Luthor.
I mean, what Luthor going to do now that the Lion has returned.
Oh shit i didn't knew he actually got art
A shame he's much worse than I thought, his description doesn't match at all lol
Lol
but of course, the morons at the 40k wiki have it on display
Lel
I like the drawing, but it doesn't really match the mockery of a dark angel as he's described
Also the head is a regular daemon lion and not a Caliban lion
Oh wait... That's also a fan art
But Atleast it matches the description of a Caliban lion a bit better
Oh no wait it's not
Lol
You mean that picure above?
Ye i saw its not fan art
yeah no its from when GW included some 30k artwork in the shit they published.
it was very comic book'y
God how many times I saw this one colorized
same
Fuck I love abaddon not having a tactical rock to stand on so the just fuck up the one specific floor tile under his feet
Have any of you all ever seen something from one faction that looks like it belongs in another?
I feel like should be a imperium vehicle
rooftop shingles add +3 armour
Also, another thought. Would it be in character for the SoB to have a rhino variant with a mine flail on the front, but they use it to flagellate heretics and xenos instead of mine clearance?
Gw worked really hard to make sure the necromunda squats look different from@the leagues of Votaan
But
Here comes forge world
Making a mode literlaly less then a head swap away from being a lov model
Me in deep rock galactic playing solo with my friend bosco
is there any functional difference between primaris intercessors and tactical marines
From a gameplay point of view intercessors are better at holding objectives and Tacticals have access to better guns
what about lore
Lore wise there’s no real difference
One is just primaris
The other is firstborn
But primaris can form tactical squads
From a lore standpoint they might as well be the same thing
Yeah
wtf is the action of intercesating (?)
Still less of a mouthful then what they call them in HH
Who the fuck thought Legion tactical support squad was a good name
I am going to strangle them(not actually but still)
don't forget the mark of the armour
The special/heavy weapons are worse lol
legion tactical support squad mark VI armour
Legion special weapons fire support squad in MKIV power armor
Or Legion Heavy weapons support team in MKII power armor
The primaris naming scheme as bad as it is
Doesn’t make me want to blow my brains out
Reading the book
The actual name in the book for the tactical support squad is even worse tbh
Legiones Astartes Tactical Support squad
Like ???? Why the fuck
Why is it so wordy
btw
Couple extra organs and a tad bit taller
is wooden parts on bolters cringe
No
Don’t see why it would be personally
The tactics and all that are pretty identical but intercessors do have a slightly more powerful gun
Oh and on tabletop primaris have one more melee attack
Both have two wounds nowadays
They normalized it this edition
Iirc
Nah they still get 2 whilst primaris have 3 attacks
Afaik primaris have 3 attacks like chaos marines due to having a pistol and close combat weapon on top of their normal weapon
No it's just flat 3 with the close combat weapon, all tac marines have pistols too
Not the 10e close combat weapon
The old rule pre 8th where you got an extra attack
This is the case for chaos
But primaris might have the old veteran bonus attack
10e has separated profiles with stuff baked in so you don’t know where the attacks are coming from
So before, if you had one guy with 2 attacks on profile but he had a pistol, chain sword and bolter he would get a bonus attack for pistol+chainsword; if took away either the pistol or chainsword only and had a bolter and pistol or bolter and chainsword, he would end up with one fewer attacks
The 10e ‘close combat weapon’ is just attacks for models without a specific weapon
There is some class to having wood furniture on weapons.
From what I see Int marines are a flat improvement over Tac marines
Tactical marines get access to special weapons
And heavy weapons
They are if you're not seeking for aforementioned special or heavy weapons
it won't fit the era though
which is why i find the change to primaris so weird
firstborn stuff is too new for HH yet too old for 40k
stuck in a limbo
its not really old for 40k
Marines in 40k literally use 30k gear at times
theres no reason for them to stop slapping that shit onto Mark X parts of their armor when it gets damaged our goes out of use
Tho tabletop wise the size difference is deffo an issue

I gas lit my self into thinking that gw will leave first born around so I can bulk buy them off eBay
I’ll wuat to see for the space marine reveal
i meant on the tabletop

i still hate primaris helmets
3D printing Primaris sized stuff is usually the way to go
because the artworks DO show them with pre-Primaris gear ontop of their Mark X armor
why did they have to fuck with the most iconic piece of armour in the entire franchise
primaris be like
im going to spread the rumour that they changed the helmet because disney threatened legal action due to the old one looking like darth vader
Because anything closer to MkIV armour is an upgrade
Also get an image of a combi power fist-claw
I already had a few first born marines, I know dark angels won’t get rid of their veteran models since they are sudo the new risen models
But like

I’ve seems a few guides on converting first born into primaris
I need that paper card shit
It just feels icky that models just can’t be used despite being valid and shit
Well
Not can’t be used
But ya know what’s I mean
The threat of it being exterminated
Like I could run first born as primaris
Cut thus could@look good or add
Taht could* ass*
See top right
I love those fuckers so much
New sternguard are a lot better imo
Bcs I don’t need to do conversions to make them look like not ultramarines

i keep seeing this mentioned and i have no idea what it is
Cardstock
It’s a thingy
It’s an arts and craft product usually for fancy personal messages or birthday messages
But it’s quite durable and is great for Kitbashing
Speaking of kitbashing
I'm getting a bunch of Victoria minis stuff and I'm finally going to put together an Inq28 warband
Centered around that blank inquisitor character I've brought up before
Nice
Gonna start with this as a base, cut off the scope of one of her pistols and swap the other one out with a power claw
And then I found a female head with a tricorn hat I want to use if it looks good
OH I had no clue thanks
I had the same issue too
I beseech the lore chat for cultist and renegade references!
Going to make some underlings for Medraut
Chad
That rogue trader stuff looks about perfect for the more criminal part
they are the most basic cultist look since its from the minis so its a safe bet
Going to have a more professional "crew" portion that makes up the core of the warband
Professionals and trusted agents, competent operatives and mercs
And then the cults, that aren't directly run by them but are equipped and egged on
ive been thinking about making a free blade oc and building a knight model to go along with it
Yooo it's the Chinese new year khornate skin
Hey im new to the 30K universe, but am a fan of the Fantasy universe, what are some basics to getting into 30K
You want to get into the Horus Heresy specifically right?
If you aren't averse to buying rulebooks/piracy I'd recomend reading both Liber Traitoris and Liber Imperialis
alright sounds good, thanks man
Beyond that there's some other stuff I could recommend but unless you want to read the Horus Heresy Serise(don't read everything there's a lot of garbage)
YEs!
Odd question, but is it within the realm of possibility for a free blade knight pledge their allegiance to the Deathwatch?
Not particularly
but they could work closely with it
the Deathwatch are very much a marine only orginization that utilizes only marine forces
They could be pledged to an Inquisitor who then work with the Deathwath
As cacti said, not Deathwatch but Ordo Xenos yes
So you can handwave it that the particular inquisitor/ordo official work very closely with the deathwatch
Bitch what the fuck calm down, they just asked you 1 thing, you say your khornate but thats some Tzeenchi shit right there
wha-
yeah
just know
that you are tzeentchi now
for those images and because you write a bible every time someon asks for the time
Hey dilara i have a question, how volatile is ork programming
Programming?
Say an ork mek decides to make robots how volatile is the programmed personality
Honestly probably pretty volatile
we literally got 1 example of ork robots and its from the 90's
Yes so i want to make that but on modern day, so i'm thinking of ways to implement ork ai
My current approach is using squig
You know make a special type of squig like a brain squig
Will serve as a foundation for how the thing functions and thinks
yeah that sounds about right for orks
Yeah i would just also make it real steel as a popular pastime for the orks in Ard'Gobs ship
Of course they are deployed in battle but you know use them when you can
Yes, but those are best served for the killa kans
No it's alright, i did forget to include grot brains as a good base for Ork ai intelligence
But they would be pretty cowardly, probably not ideal
What if you rigged explosives in them in the event of cowardice?
Nah, save the explosives for the bomb squigz or the tank bustaz
I want them to stay in the front line and not leave
Something like an ambot
I was thinking more along the lines of those bomb collar concept from Fallout
Yes, but those are wasted on scrap, why make cowardly robots if you can make robots that are aggressive and are terrifying fighters
Ah.
What about using both Grot and Squig brains?
Then when the time comes, cut off the connect to the grot brain from the body.
Take the good parts from a grot brain like the intelligence, and add aggressiveness and ferocity of a squig
My god
Your genius
Thank you Boss.
I just remembered that the world eaters have or had something similar with their terminators.
I mean, an ork robot could also just be an extremely modified cybork
Also runtbots are a thing
I mean, Tinboyz are also said to be very simplistic in terms if machinery and actual ai and stuff
Even through they can look like this
No wait wrong image
That's a runtbot
Im gonna turn you into a runtbot in a second
Primaris got nothing on these
Imagine a tinboy knight.
Lmao
Imagine being a fan of warhammer around the rogue trader era and getting time travelled into the future and seeing modern warhammee
you'd have a heart attack at the prices alone
Game was expensive for a wargame back then iirc
It's a good birthday!
happy birthday man
Necromunda question, is there a good lore explanation for like, painting your gangers different or kit bashing them?
I want the squats but I don’t want to paint them that way
Each gang usually have their own colours (not houses)
Thank you
The way skaven speak makes me giggle uncontrollably
Gangs also some time happen to overlap over to houses too
Yes yes man thing keep smart think skaven won’t kill kill
He would call you slurs and figure out how to kill you in your sleep
Id wake up and make my death dramatic af and never tell him about my warpstone stash
Warhammer is so sad
We should get a happy ending
welp im starting the second soul drinkers omnibus
time for some more wacky lore
and it's starting with a royal type guard regiment that has no history in main lore
Why does that plasma have a magazine
I remember being able to get a pack of 4 aspect warriors for £5 and exarch for £3, and the price had already done up by then
Though some things were more expensive like Jetbikes
Which ironically haven’t gone up that much
