Isn't arch British
Norwegian
Yes
Yes I think
Norwegian I believe
Average European convo tbh
Lol
Lol
Norwegian makes more sense
But he’s Norwegian yeah
iirc collabs with a Norwegian neo nazi
I was wondering why any British person would have an opinion on the Sami in either direction
which one, varg?
He's just making Jokes that were fairly routine until like 6 years ago
I have heard worse on Comedy Central roasts
I was about to say there's no way arch and varg know each other
insane crossover
lmfao
Varg is on an entirely different level of absolute unhinged idiocy
Didn't Varg actually kill someone
Yes
Also he supports fascism which is funny
and serve time

The USA literally has fasces in the Senate house
average LGS convo between guard players
Varg is primarily famous for killing a guy and burning churches, the music is literally just trivia
Bruh those were there before the fascists took power.
USA is prettttty fascist. As fascist as the Roman Republic was, anyways
Yeah and I don’t like them either lol
arch's vraks series is still something i go back to sometimes. he's a moron though
Tbh it’s
Yes
Way longer then the actual books
Gotta be bait
Which are like

Just pages in imperial armor
yeah and i like the effort he put into. got lots of cool visuals and stuff
I mean no, America is the Roman Republic
Blurbs in imperial armour
Which are just "krieg dies painfully for decades dark angels save the day"
Fair
Holy hell "America is third rome" poster
Was the Roman Empire Fascist ?
Like Fascist love the Roman Empire, but I don't think it follow the fascist ways
Mussolini in shambles
I mean yes
Italians couldnt even vote
Until Caesar's lifetime
Yet they had hegemony over most of the mediterranean
Only actual Romans had much if any say outside of force of arms
Honestly depends on how you define fascism, but most people would say no since the Roman republic predates capitalism which is a founding prerequisite for fascism, which exploits corporate power
Rome had corporations
Rome even had fast food.

I think you seriously lack in knowledge on the Roman Republic.
Ultramcdonalds
Can't wait for this convo to take a turn
I feel like it already did
My guy I am not going to argue about Rome with someone who thinks America is the third rome
oh cool, 40k players arguing over roman politics, i'm sure this won't be a shitshow!
you want some ultrafries with that mcrag burger
It comes with a new word crusher action figure.
Surely this won't devolve into teenagers yelling based and cringe
Lol
It’s a toy of lorgar getting smashed by a ultra marine lieutenant
Let’s be honest though.
I’ve said this before and I will say this again. Fascists have never had any original or even good ideas, just ones they’ve appropriated. Even all of their symbols are appropriated.
Saying a symbol looks fascist is like saying “Your symbol bad because bad people stole it”
It comes from Virgil's Eclogue
🍿
No it doesnt look fascist
It's where the word Fascist comes from
Frfr
Fasces is the word where fascist comes from
Let's talk about issues that really matter, like how good the big green ones shoot
Not very good
Most current Fascist ideas were inspired by Mussolini, who wante to reform Rome
Doesn't really make Rome into a Fascist state
But they shoot a lot
Nono, I’m referring to Witchfinder, they keep insisting Imperial stuff looks “Fascist.”
Guard BS is SO AWFUL
But they do it lots which eventually makes it good
1800's architects simping for greek architecture is pretty common
4+ is fine
Oh look the Roman Fasces on a Mercury (roman god of commerce) dime
Just like France, England and a load of country before the USA
Polybius is considered a founding father
4+ is perfectly average for shooting
And there’s ways to make it better anyways
Especially as guard lol
None of which are founded on a city of 7 hills witj the exact same governmental style
Usually for 2 damage though
Even the founding is the same
That’s literally fine
I might just sucks though
Tbf a lot of imperial stuff is supposed to look fascist because they're space fascists
Man's been watching a lotta national treasure
Are you seriously arguing the Republic of the USA is NOT roman?
Ok, there's no brain cell left there
Because why?
Imperium is supposed to look facist yeah
This is just American Exceptionalism
Let's end this conversation because everyone knows God punished Rome by turning them into Italians
Who is enshrined in the Capitol Dome?
Lol
lmfao
Next to Washington ?
Master Chief and the arbiter
Could have been worse
Could have been turned french
Libertas aka Lady Liberty is a Roman Goddess
Bretonia
And Bellona is right next to washing ton too

Tbh Mussolini was a disgruntled socialist. WWI happened (his canon event) then he got ambitions to be worse. /j
You mean the French statue ?
Tell me you havent gone to the Capitol without telling me...
could have been worse
could have been turned dutch
Tbh he stopped being anti war during WW1
Which led to him becoming facist
No I mean the giant Roman Mural on the Capitol Done
Dome
His canon event.
Or numerous other monuments
Could have been even worse
Could have been both
Libertas is everywhere
Bcs he thought ww1 had the ideal environment to overthrow monarchies and cause a socialist revolution
On the Silver Eagle
by god you're right
On the Gold Eagle
italy more like shittaly amirite

Everyone knows the true third Rome is Albania 🇦🇱 🇦🇱
I am both
And German too
Classic changing the topic
I'm American
My guy we talk about plastic army men and video games here
Reading? No thanks that's for nerds
Lol
happy birthday tomorrow
Well the Imperium is Rome too
Um akshully 🤓
Funny tho. He actually stopped being anti war for a good reason tho, believing that the war would bring about the social conditions necessary to bring about socialist reform.
everything is rome
Yeah I mentioned that
More or less
It’s pretty funny
Happy no finger day
The preminent power in World history has always been Rome
Are you possessed?
No, I am a Priest.
A servant of the Lord Jesus Christ
Oh, frick, it's that type of American
That’d be the The Catholic Church.
No he's roman
Which isssss
Who do you think the Grapes of wrath are?
Rhymes with Omen
He is less Roman than I am
And I'm a bloody barbarian
This guy was a priest
Literally, at one point the church had the power to kill a king by telling him to kneel outside in the cold for 56 hours.
No
I am descended from Cunedda
I am very Roman
My family helped found this country
We were of the Non-deist party.
We're hitting level of American stereotypes I've never seen before
Did you get kicked or did you leave the warhammer server
italian food is pretty good
There's a Warhammer server?
OK let's pivot this back into, at the very least, fun fictional media because this was funny at first but now it's just sad
Sad?
yea
Why is having respect for my house sad?
Fat Russel Crowe is so weird to me
With Crow ?
That's incredibly rude
200 posts in 15 minutes. Did something happen?
Are you a bully in real life or just behind a keyboard?
Oh my God was that Russell crowe?
Yes
Cause you're a bastard son, your house doesn't recognise you
It just clicked in my brain oh my god
Bastard Son?
You do not know me or my house
There’s a 40K one and a general one
Left the old continent, left their roots
people are arguing with themselves in text chat and everyone else has their popcorn
There's a Warhammer server?!
Do you want a link lol
No
I'm sure there's lots of warhammer servers
What
We didnt leave behind anything
My cousin is still ruling from a Castle
Is it a "warhammer server" (gross) or a warhammer server (fun)
it's the subreddit one
Good question.
If Christianity existed in 40k, then what are the chances a ministorum priest ends his prayers with “Ramen”.
Are there Pastafarian cults?
It doesnt
There’s the 40K one and the main subreddit one
i wish i had a castle
The whole point of Warhammer is as earth without Christ
ya
Both are fine tbh
It's called Catherism and it slowly died out after the heresy iirc?
Ole Persson is catholic lmao
You sure?
Emperor hates religion is the answer
Must be Nero
When it's not useful to himself
Yes, Ole Persson is catholic, but it's called "catheric" to allow some creative liberties. Wears a cross and everything.
Ignace Karkasy also references old abrahamic religions in describing demons as satan
Inquisitor Sherlock Clousseau... is Hindu iirc, has the symbol or something
Iirc it's a plot point that guilliman allows it's practice for popularity in Secundus?
What makes it really funny to me is he was an argonaut. The guy is a literally Greek mythological figure and he was like "well, guess I don't have anything better to do than get baptized"
is this a real name
Not really. It’s without all major world religions as well.
Yes, the first Canon inquisitor
The name is even better, I'll go and search it back
Yeah those don't matter though
Except as cultural artifacts
Didn't the Emperor stomp it out before the Great Crusade?

Full name High Inquistor Sherlock Obi-Wan Closseau
He wanted to iirc
Inquisitor Obiwan Sherlock Clouseau
Same as with the early imperial daith
STOP LYING
It was galaxy wide so it probably didn't work
You’re telling me that all of the three monotheistic religions believing in supposedly the same god wouldn’t create a warp entity?
No this is really the first named inquisitor
Only 2 of them believe in the same God for one
The Abrahamic faiths?
Well lower Warp entities aren't really rare
And secondly one of them is using dated information
No stop now he's going to have opinions on Islam stop engaging
Yeah I do not approve of the Aisha hadiths
As a father to a 12 year old
THERE IT IS
Pretty abhorrent stuff
I didn't realise there was a expiration date on Divine information
Yeah when the Calendar was decided
Cain and Abel are Canon to 40k tho so there is some Abrahamic stuff going on in the background
I like the Graffiti on the Hieroglyphs to Horus in the pyramids
It’s still 3. Just because they call him different things doesn’t mean that they don’t believe that they’re the same entity?
Until there is indisputable proof of god imma continue to work under the pretense that they’re worshipping the same deity.
When there is undeniable proof of god, I will convert. Until then there is faith and faith alone.
No
Sorry
You can call something a spade and it not be a spade
I can go around and say Jesus was a buddhist all day but it does not make it true.

Very fun Boss
Moderators don't get to sleep
What?
welcome to the weekly warhammer fascism/religion debate
i just wanted to talk about soul drinkers
We ain't responsible
are those books any good
Just some friendly religious Warhammer banter
YES
They are cray
oh he not tryna get muted/kicked from ANOTHER server
Absolutely crazy renagades
another?
1984!
Another server ?

Lol, cope and seethe

Oh no! I forgot Free Speech is dead
I just want to play with army men 😭
Well I have my own government so
Yeah uh, there free speech then there’s whatever you do.
Stop.
khorne and tzeentch
Having a discussion on literally anything?
Best pair of Chaos God
my guy, free speech does not mean freedom of consequences
conversely, free speech does not mean you get to say whatever you want in a Discord with its own rules
Not the place for it
What did I say ?
Nurgle is the best chaos god because he's cute. This has been a reminder.
Politics and religious nonsense. This is the lore channel.
…you are LMAO
Dont reprimand anybody else
How?
Others voiced their opinions
Others even called me a bastard
Tbf I asked a silly question on what happens to the Pastafarians in 40k and if there are any Ministorum priests that end prayers with “Ramen”
I think we all could calm down, I will admit we did somewhat play with it
Honorable conduct
It had already been going on before
I still haven’t gotten an answer.
Don't see why they wouldn't
Anyway yeah, no religion or politics please. Just talk about lore
We were doing that as well
do salamanders get high
I'm sure someone believes the emperor is italian which is a kind of pastafarianism
Creater of the lasgun
And please dont get into genocide debates 💀
As far as we know no
Though i would homebrew that they don't know what Pastas are, just follow the cult
Specifically what happened to religion in 40k
I want the deep lore on whether there is a “Cult of the Giant Spagetti Emperor” or not.
The space wolves def get drunk
Why? Genocide is very common in the Lore
Blood angels get sorta high off of blood
Cult of the noodle-armed emperor
The genocide is okay discussion
Sounds Khorny
how else would you explain their love of humans
That's simplifying matters but, I will allow it.
A god with lots of tentacles...
I think we know which I'm thinking off
Psycho indoctrination didn’t work
Tzeentch?
Holy shit have y’all noticed the emperor is a corpse
Oh that would Definitley be a Tzeentch cult in secret.
💀
You call that a God? That's a dead guy in a fancy chair!
"i love da umans!"
"hit him with another 10000 volts brother silthas"
Lol pretty much
The quote about marines mostly being brainwashed barbarian children
Is true and very funny
Ayo where's the compound butter
prime wagyu emperor meat
Is he?
You try milking a grox
Not what the Illuminati think
Space Marine life takes place in huge structures and ships and is highly organized, so you know that neophytes get little brochures with their map and schedules like they just got into college

The Ultramarines at least
or finding your way around without dying is part of the initiation
Something tells me the Dark Angels initiates have it a bit different
More controlled probably
Something of a riddle
They get strung along until the weird little ghost man picks one out
I like to imagine Blood Angels just finding some weirdly muscular kid hunched over in a corner after some kind of violent and traumatic experience and just being like "how well do you paint?"
Sons of Kh--- Sangiunius
They actually throw them all into a small arena after a painful trek across rad blasted deserts to kill eachother
If only Konrad had not died when he did...
But don't actually kill each other! That'd be mean!
Sounds Khorny
And don't they pick only the one who don't actually kill the other ?
While the Flesh Eater have them kill the other ?
The Horus test or something stupid
Sad
Hopefully Baal gets nuked and they can move on
We haven’t seen a body. Ergo maybe still alive?
Already been done, twice
Doubtful but hopefully
Curze was the best primarch and I'm glad he's dead
We know he’s dead bcs of the recording tbf
After all, he knew the truth
Baal got nuked recently, they're making it actually habitable now iirc?
He got his head chopped off
It’s gona be a while lol
Oh no
Oh well yeah the entire population died in the Nid invasion
So it seems like Imperium Secundus never went away
I kinda wish the Assassin didn’t do it just to spite him. Like “No, fuck you, bitch. You want to die, do it yourself.”
100 years minimum
what happened to corax
In Soviet Baal, water drinks you
Super scary shadow demon hunting lorgar
He is hunting
He's not a shadow demon
He can make illusions
He’s a raven monster lmao
He's funny warp stuff thing that can shape change and do weird stuff
Corax more or less described himself as a daemon, or at least a being of the warp
I hate the lore because of that.
Like. They aren’t doing anything to advance the plot. They cannot kill off Daemon Lorgar or Corax so it’s just going to sit forever.
He's not actually though
so is corax effectively dead or am i missing something
No
HeMs not a demon either
Kinda.
He fucked off after the scouring/heresy
No, he's bullying Lorgar
I mean Russ is likely dead. Same with Khan.
He's hunting in the Warp
Got more in tune with the warp stuff inside him
Neither are dead
So he got some freaky new stuff
Khan is... I wont say
Russ is a poster boy though
And Russ is preparing
I hope they're dead
Russ is supposedly headed into the garden of Nurgle. Didn’t Gulliman do the same thing?
They arent
Khan somewhere in the webway, bullying eldar
I know, but they should be
Something like that
He seeks the cure to all disease yeah
No way Khan and a handful of warriors can outrun Eldar for long.
He's going to Comorragh
Iirc one DE book describes a white armoured giant fighting in the arenas
He’s probably dead. If Nurgle can make a disease strong enough to kill Mortarion then yeah. No shot.
Russ finds Isha, every primarch gets an eldar gf
custodes are right, we can't trust these fuckers
Constantin is
I kinda want Russ to see Isha, not believe her at all, but take her along anyways in true Danish saga fashion.
But the Primarchs are Custodes essentially
Not really
Nope. Primarchs are one step above Custodes.
Of a sort
Well they're both genetic freaks
I want Russ to find Isha and immediately throw her into a warp current because she's a psyker. It's just what my character would do.
But Primarchs are grown and have to do with warp stuff and the shenanigans combined with that
Custodes are just very careful tailored megahumans
were primarchs made from the emperor's genes
Well considering reincarnation is a suppressed truth
technically anybody could or can come back
Although it's not a guarantee. As the damned stay dead.
Yes
Them and gk are the only beings with the emperor's genecode or atleast part of it
Eh I'm sure abnett is going to write the Sensei back into lore eventually since he seems to really like that whole area of old lore
That’s why I hate the Primaris rework.
It used to be as simple as Human -> Astartes -> Custodes -> Primarch -> Emperor.
Then they had to make things weird by adding another step. I get it. Tabletop models needed a rework, but I really hate all of the things that did to the lore. Like astartes chapters now make 0 sense.
??
They’ve pretty much gotten rid of the scout company.
Primaries are just astartes
SM have some genecode from the Primarch, so by extension they should also have some small one from the Emp
They didn't
And scouts are still a thing
Like I consider the sensei to still be technically Canon because of Abnett
Every scout company is required to have a standing force of 100 vanguards.
They never really were retconned iirc
Yeah and
That doesn’t leave a lot of room for scouts.
Yes it does
Scouts aren't battle brothers
Isn’t the chapter limit still 1000?
They were just disappeared by the inquisition yeah but they aren't "active" in the setting because of that
It's 1100 marines now
Why not just expand it to 2000 or 2500?
Chapter limit is rarely reached, scouts are counted separate
Scouts also don't count towards to the 1000
It's a logistical issue
The point of the Codex is to prevent Tyranny
Some chapters tack on extra scout companies as a bit of a legal loophole
However Roboute severely underestimated the capabilities of Human bureaucracy and propensity for indolence.
The Chapters are more or less even more easily manipulated ALA the Lodges by this point
Idk. I dislike that vehicle crews don’t count towards the number when you can easily just remove them from the vehicle. They’re still astartes.
Also the codex is gonna be replaced anyway by guilliman so there's not really a point rn
Thank God
It was to prevent treason en masse
Yes that is what I meant by Tyranny
I feel like people are so distracted by primarchs that they overlook the fact that most of the first founding chapters are essentially legion building now anyway
And legal loopholes don't matter, no one cared if you went above 1k so long as you gave no reason for doubt
I don’t see how considering that they’ve been worshipping the damned thing for close to 1,000 years.
Thing is, it never was meant to be worshipped
An unrelated point is you wouldn't go above 1k
It was like let's say, the art of war
Dark Angels, Blood Angels, and Imperial Fists are all functionally at legion strength
Sounds familiar
Between the geneseed tithe and attrition
Ikr
You just wouldn't get to 1k in the first place
I remember that whole Nikaea business too
I know, but how do you stop them from doing so? And how do you prevent them from going traitor in the name of upkeeping tradition?
Tbf, its being redone by the guy who invented the first
And who most codex loving chapters also adore
nothing new for DA, BA aren't, and iirc the Last Wall isn't active?
BT are functionally a legion but are spread out
Ultramarines are more or less a legion as well now
Also we getting the wardens of the gauntlet melting pot
Dante still has command over all the successors, they're different chapters but their chain of command goes back to BA now
Idk. A lot of things with the Primaris rework don’t make sense to me.
One thing that I wish they would do is make Phobos armor not a suit of power armor but just plate.
Yeah but that's more a loose alliance
The inquisition doesn't think so lol
He's Lord COmmander of everything, it's the same as Koorland
Or was that Koorland
I forget
Beast was stupid
Hey if they can get everyone back to where they were then good for them, the Castellans won't turn down help
Idk. Maybe it’s me being stupid and nostalgic over the firstborn, but I just dislike how specialized SM have gotten. You’d think being limited to 1,100 marines would mean that they would by necessity resort to versatility.
Thing is in lore they're more or less how they were before
But for marketing they're also sold in mono weapon squads for some reason
Yeah they mostly just got new toys and names
Also again they just won't reach 1.1k lmao
Primaris reinforcements notwithstanding but attrition will grind them down before long
And I cannot stress this enough
Primaris aren't some wacky new boogey man, they're literally just nu marines with 2 extra organs
but their helmets suck
They're still the same stupid, bland, generic and favoured roid monkeys you knew and loved with some shiny new toys
Guess what
Everything closer to the mk4 it's a win for me
Again, that even adds to my point.
Gravis suits (the thing I hate the most out of the rework) have to be the worst designed pieces of junk in the setting.
They don’t fit into transports, they are just a worse version of Terminator armor, and their main gimmick is just being a worse version of a terminator.
Oh yeah that's a marketing thing
Exactly.
The only gravis model that works for me is the new Apothecary
i hate the new grav vehicles. i like the good old treads
I like both
it's also annoying to have those dumb baseplates to make the models float
But yeah model restrictions don't apply to lore, in da books your funky intercessor gamer can use Melta all he wants, and isn't locked to bolt rifles
Also Gravis suits were more meant for Inceptors who don't need transports as they directly drop from low orbit
The apothecary makes sense tho.
I still dislike the stupid “armored hood” thing but I like the bulkier look of the Gravis apothecary.
The Agressor can be retconned for all I care.
It's a good thing for support guys who won't run in
So ig the Gravis devastators are cool enough
But the "Heavy Intercessors" are just moronic
Also some of the captains are fineish
You mean the same guys who use two heavy bolters but not the same heavy bolters as the Devastators?
I find that just a little ridiculous. Why not give Assault marines that same weapon?
Because they were meant to be the new assault marines lol
We'll get the jump packs we see in SM2 in.....
Idk.
Maybe 3 years
Same as how intercessors were supposed to be the new tactical
Like
i was expecting GW to stop selling firstborn for 10th
Ye
I’m too poor to get into the tabletop hobby (I do ttsim) but if I did I’d probably just make my own squads to my own preference.
They're just milking it slowly because the marine fandom has more whales than our oceans
Literally doable because they removed the primaris keyword iirc?
Oh it's not warhammer but I have big tabletop news
There's an officially licensed Adventure Time ttrpg coming out!
Based?
a licensed kickstarter?
It's not that uncommon these days, unfortunately
Especially with older properties like Adventure Time
hey we'll give you the license good luck for the money!
Homestuck famously had one, but that was a bit back in the day and even though it was official still turned out to be a scam, which brought us the "THREE MILLION DOLLARS, JADE?" meme
isn't it fucked that scummy mobile games get more licenses than anybody else
God now I'm remembering the Homestuck kickstarter. Wild times.
The missing 3 million, the canon sexual content and the debate over whether it was legal, Bladekindeyewear spiralling off into a severe mental break. Good times.
The pink blood
I’d probably just make squads using weapons that already existed but in new combinations. Same rules, just proxy it.
That’s how the rework should’ve been: same tech, new tactics.
but then GW wouldn't be able to get whales to buy the new stuff
Its simply because some people actually just play a lot of those kinds of games
the term "mindless consumer" exists for a reason 💀
the mobile gaming market is now half straight up gambling lol
GW needs to learn a very simple lesson: “Give the people what they want.”
If they stopped treating this IP like it’s cheap mobile game material and actually opened it up, they’d probably be far more successful.
GW needs to learn many lessons
Also they can be be produced cheaply. With a big brand, that's probably like printing money
There’s a clear difference between what the people “want” and what they want.
It’s why Jorts, spray on hair, mullets, ddt, microplastics, etc exist.
Boardmembers are always out of touch adults/old people
they want to see their underlings make the chart arrow go up
they dont really like... get what we want
the entire reason Space Marine 2 exists for example
is because a studio approached GW for it
lol
The people want that tho.
We wanted it like half a decade ago XD
True. Probably same reason we’re getting Dial of Destiny.
That franchise should’ve died with Crystal Skull
It's still insane to me that God melted a guys face in Raiders of the Lost Ark
It's a weird franchise
To be fair
But aren't the people with money also old people? I don't think it's an accident we are seeing stuff like a He-Man revival, of all things. 😬
i'm mostly surprised that harrison ford can still be in movies
Hes like Bill Murray
deader than a poxwalker

but when money comes he whiffs and reanimates thanks to Grandfather Hollywood's blessings
Tbh Harrison should be doing what Stan Lee did. Cameo.
Tbh tho. We need Hollywood to stop making live action remakes and to do Lego remakes. Shit would probably be less controversial and would be wildly popular.
I only liked him in the newer blade runner
Blade runner was weird.
It is one of the movies ever created.
yeah he was good in that
Idk I enjoyed it but I felt like it was taking symbology way too hard. Like the movie was beating me with a sledgehammer with all of it.
Mark Hamill is the cool one of the original cast
the movie is also so damn long
Decent as Luke, godlike as the Joker
mark hamill looks so different than he did as luke
i would never have guessed it was him
There will never be a better Joker.
He got bigger
older and fatter
More based
Star Wars: The Last Jedi stars Mark Hamill, Laura Dern, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Domhnall Gleeson and Kelly Marie Tran take the WIRED Autocomplete Interview and answer the Internet's most searched questions about Star Wars and themselves.

Listen to the Get WIRED podcast ...
They should’ve made a Greek Epic hero joke.
it's funny to me because young hamill looks like one of those actors who looks good but isn't very smart
if i was going by looks alone
Idk it’s sad to see so many sci fi franchises dying.
i think it's sad that their corpses are being brought back
For example?
And he went to school there for a while
intellectual property cannot end anymore
SW has been relegated to space westerns and series Carried by Dave Filoni. SW used to be something that I personally got excited for. Then Disney took it and turned it into something I loathe.
Star Trek has been relegated to garbage shows like “Lower Decks” and Discovery. (Deep Space 9 is where that franchise peaked)
mfw i can spout extremist ideologies on the news but i can't sing a song from the beatles made 70 years ago
I came back for Clone Wars season 7 but dipped out afterwards. I really don’t like the Mandolorian.
I liked the uh
First 3 or so episodes
And the imperial outpost with Bill
Rest is bleh
the first season of mandalorian has good vibes
“Oh no, baby Yoda is being a lil shit”
Idk that show screamed “We need to revive this franchise, send out le bebe “
but i'll simp for anything where pedro pascal is in it
Actually, I like "Lower Decks" and Discovery. 😁 Imho they managed to preserve the core identity of ST while also trying out new stuff. I think it worked out quite ok. (Unlike their rehashing of the old Star Trek series, which never interested me, personally)
"Oh yeah Gideon has Death Troopers" all die
"Oh yeah Gideon has Dark Troopers" all die
"Oh yeah Gideon was on Mandalore this entire time and has Beskar armoured storm troopers and imperial guard" all die
I heard lower decks could be funny, but that Discovery suffers with a bad main character or something?
I can respect that take. I just dislike the cartoon style. It just screams low effort/low cost animation style of every generic cartoon nowadays.
By contrast, I feel that Star Wars has been dead for a long time now. Rogue One and Episode 8 gave me some hope, but that's it. The went back to doing Samurai movies with light sabers and a lot of retro sci-fi
discovery's main problem is it thinks zack sneider perfected the franchise
Agreed. I don't like this cheap animation style, either. Apparently adult animation has to look ugly, or something. 😅
But they manage to make it interessting in the story and character department.
Also most CGI filled movies/shows lose out on quality because half the shit is outsourced to cheap CGI companies
RIGHT?
Nono, Star Trek’s CG was perfect.
I meant in a more modern sense
that show would have been much better if neelix died in a fire on the first episode
like a 15 minute long scene of neelix burning to death
Imma just say it. The market has become over saturated with dogshit mobile games.
And streaming services. Even GW getting in on that action.
always has been
The main character, Michael Burnham, is too many things at once, unfortunately. It's not that bad, as the rest of the crew still gets to shine, and Burnham gets cast down a lot, too.
But if you want some optimistic, sometimes corny, crew centered sci-fi where folks don't solve everything by being the better fighter, then it's still quite ok
i refuse to watch anything with netflix's shitty big mouth style animation so im not touching lower decks
why western animation decided to choose the ugliest style ever as the default for the last 5 years i'll never understand
I get that. Though that means you are missing out on Final Space, too. Which is quite nice. (Though unfinished.)
Because it’s cheap, easy to get consistient.

was it cancelled?

futurama and simpsons were cheap and had more style
Iirc the last season was never made, and it's left somewhat open ended
it's not just cheap, it's lazy as hell
I think Rick and Morty popularized it.
I'll never forgive Book of Boba Fett
even rick and morty has more style to it!
Planet of Hardened Criminals
Boba recruits some cyborgs on Space Scooters
I never liked those much because their humor didn't really work for me. Same for Rick and Morty. 😅
Not even the cool horrific trans-human monstrosity types you find among bounty hunters either
futurama is dope as hell but you do you
I like some of Futurama but it's the same as Family guy and Simpsons for me
First few seasons were funny, but after that it got stale.
I'll laugh at a joke here and there but there's only so much I can take
Tbh Futurama is timeless.
one of my favorite running gags of futurama is in the first seasons where they keep shitting on new jersey
Nah, they spitting the truth XD
I’ve been there. Never again.
Same with NY.
My entire country is just New Jersey
That entire side of the Appalachians? Gahbage.
My work served pinto beans, peas and onion, and boiled corn beef and I’m pretty sure it smelt just like how corpse starch would smell
Are you in Normandy during Dday?
A retirement home
Close enough
Lmao
When I was first introduced to 40k I honestly thought corpse starch was just a colloquial term to describe the food obviously inspired from British cuisine.
i don't know if this includes where i live but i'm still angry
It is though?

Death.
And pretty much every other culture group’s food.
complimenting the french while insulting the british is just asking for trouble
The French have better food than the British. That is objectively true.
Same with the wine.
Not really. Food wise that's not even a fight. 😁
Also the new starter box is literally both of the new combat patrols
english have some pretty good food if you look past the 1940's era famine rations they had to come up with
I'm told British food has a problem with grease
Depending on how the spam unit for nids costs
There’s gonna be a lot of space marines on eBay
I just thought of it like I was eating a can of corned beef, I ate that a lot growing up. Hereford brand. delicious
The grease isn't a problem, it's a feature. Steak pies and cheddar are actually awesome. Not healthy, but very tasty. 😁
living in an ex french and british colony changes your perspective on food
I'm content with my melting pot of Slav/Turkish food
Ah so you’re from North Montana? /j
British food looks and tastes like it was made under rationing still
im not american no
mostly
Let me introduce you to some Mantı

What's dat
Uhhh
cant explain english bad, here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manti_(food)
Manti is a type of dumpling popular in most cuisines of Central Asia, Afghanistan, West Asia, South Caucasus, and the Balkans. Manti is also popular among Chinese Muslims, and it is consumed throughout post-Soviet countries, where the dish spread from the Central Asian republics. The dumplings typically consist of a spiced meat mixture, usually...
i really wanna visit louisiana for its food one day though
What the fuck ai generated food am I looking at
Do it. Visit the French Quarter. Best I’ve ever eaten in my entire life.
Kinda reminds me of this
Sarma (Turkish for wrapped; Cyrillic spelling: Сарма), commonly marketed in the English-speaking world as stuffed grape leaves, stuffed vine leaves, or stuffed cabbage leaves, is a food in Southeastern European and Ottoman cuisine made of vegetable leaves rolled around a filling of grains (such as rice), minced meat, or both. The vegetable leave...
sarma is great
killing you
louisiana culture fascinates me so much because of how similar it is to mine and yet so americanized
You should, went their back in high school with a group of friends. Crawfish is excellent, beignets? mmm. I also had this nice black bean sausage Jambalaya.

World is a tasty
i just want some good gumbo
Oh, looks tasty!
A bit similar to Polish pierogi or Swabian Maultaschen.
turkish food is so damn fatty
i'd literally die if i went there just from over eating
In description this sounds amazing, but visually
In my culinary experience, the food just gets better the further southwest you go in America:
Louisiana (Seafood)
Texas (BBQ/Mexican)
New Mexico (Best Mexican food I’ve ever had)
They usually cook in balls and you can take them out of the leavs
Still pretty tasty
I like both.
No diff.
It’s hard to find shit to eat because I don’t eat red meat and I don’t like meat besides fish lmao
Eh almost, meat is different
gotta stop at the south east just for the fast food trash too
buddy you wanna die from eating? There's a restaurant in Las Vegas called Heart Attack Grill, people who eat there wear patient gowns during meals. Place has killed at least three people just from eating the food.
You know what I want?
These incredible sandwiches made in Egypt, contain juicy seasoned meat, that is cooked inside of the bread. The result is a flavourful, moist and incredibly juicy sandwich that is super addictive

Here in Turin we got so many fucking different Kebab/Kebap shops we jokingly call it the town's national food
yeah i heard of it lol
Honestly, German cities might be the best place for food. Not because "German" food is that great in itself. But you get so many great restaurants that serve dishes from everywhere.
I've had a burger prepared in a similar way by bosniaks and it was great
Sounds like a good way to die.
if you want a place that has everything then check out san francisco
that place has like every single cultural dish
YOOO YES. MEXICAN STREET CORN IS A NATIONAL TREASURE.
Time to think of my succubus character
Probably will finish the Job for Nikocado if he went there just once.
I like boiled corn
i super reacted by accident again
Is it a sister of battle
Yeah but first time it was good because 🇦🇱 🇦🇱
Isn't that just Miriael Sabbathiel
Do tell, I love hearing about people’s OC’s
I'm content with my Chapter Master's design
Now I just need to
Write his backstory

Now that I think about it i never made a custom regiment/chapter/thingie
is that genuine or sarcasm

im way better at writing backstories than i am at designing OC's
you and me both
I can write, I'm just lazy
Genuine. I like hearing about people making their own characters or trying. Not all of us can be masterclass authors but everyone can try.
cool.
i think my problem is that i love generic. i hate when my characters stand out too much
I mean there's many shades of generic
or whenever i put details i want all of them to have their own significance so it takes ages to make a complete character
That in and of itself is a character archetype that I love. When the character is self aware of their own bs lol
See the 1bilion different shades of cadian you can get
Yeah my folks are generic knights, but also vampires
Almost looks like the Patriarchal cross
Because it is
Or technically
No
It's the Cross of Anjou/Lorraine
I just like da double blaeds
it'll be very difficult for me when i'll finally create my regiment leader OC for guardsmen lol
They should only stand out if you are making someone thats out from a regular rank-n-file army yeah, I got quite a few 40k OCs like that because I like making stuff with commissions a lot
oh yeah, Croix de Lorraine. The Knights templar once wore it into battle during the crusades.
It's partially a heritage thing but I also just prefer it stylistically
I think its appropriate, knights and all y'know.
The Original was this but edited
I’ve got a bit of lore for my HB Forgeworld for my Admech army (for my tts games). Forgeworld Kytheria.
To sum the packet of lore I’m working on for them, they’re what would happen if a Fabricator General got their hands on the heir to a Warrant of Trade, converting him to the Cult Mechanicus. Basically, they begin doing their own operations to buy, barter and steal archeotech under the guise of the House while also fighting for legitimacy over the Warrant of Trade.
Sounds p cool
I don’t have an idea yet. I still need to write down my other ocs
So a more political/diplomatic Stygies VIII.
With less xenarites?
Not really. They will “legally” buy xenotech under the house for it to be ritualistically destroyed. Basically, they may attempt more diplomatic means of acquiring Archaeotech and Xenotech but if a deal can’t be brokered then they might attempt an “Alternative arrangement”
They’ll just steal it.
Classic
I got like 2 OC backstories in the works. One of them is supposed to essentially be my Vet in Darktide. The other is an Adepta Sororitas "Sister Superior", but I can't decide if I want her to belong with the Sacred Rose or Argent Shroud. Basically She gifts the Vet, her Power Sword(don't judge) to him as a way of remembering and how their shared experience and reliance on each other kept them alive from a Chaos invasion. So now he uses the sword, even when his life is forfeit becoming an Acolyte to Inquisitor Grendyl's group in the Ordo Hereticus. It's still a rough work. To get an idea, its the Mk3 Psword.
Maybe kill her, for extra bleakness
On the tabletop they are based off of Stygies tho. However they wear blue robes because Mars’s sunrise is blue, and like the sunrise they have since left the surface of mars for the galaxy beyond.
Definitely Argent Shroud
they are all about heroism and selflessness
Do they get white shrouds
Regarding admech: Is there actually a summary on the major forgeworlds fluff somewhere? Couldn't really find something on lexicanum
The major ones are basically the ones you can field as an army on the codex
aka always the ones "worth mentioning"
I found what they do "in game", but not what really makes them different in thinking/philosophy
Hold on bud i got you
Just don't make them too arrogant. 😅
A mix of sadism, paranoia, and fear of being consumed by Slaanesh might work?
Well I did have the idea of her being corrupted by this cult leader of Slaanesh that kind of forced the Vet to end her suffering, but that's just one scenario. There's a Fire Angel's Marine along for the ride but I'm still working on it. Got a fic idea bouncing in my head. and it involves a Sister, a vet, an Astartes, and a Tech priest or Skitarii, banding together in the midst of a daemon incursion on a Civilised World. half the PDF goes traitor, Harakoni 31st Helldivers come in with Fire Angels, a convent of Sororitas fighting on the planet defending their sacred church etc.
Basically think on their upbringing and then go off from there, you can do a lot with a dark eldar character, Commorragh is massive development wise.
@rose thorn is it "just" an OC, or is it for a story?
If you want a semi "good" redeemed Druk make them Cursed Blade that went off to throw her lot in with Ynnari for example, etc
More like
The Binnari
I usually like making a character and a rival character that specifically hate each other
Because they got thrown in da trash

Yno more lori
Cegorach's captured audience force laughing
Hmm, yeah, Dilara's right. Argent Shroud sounds more appropriate for my SOB, i'll roll with that.
🙏
Morally evil usually completely fine my only morally gray character has omega ptsd who thinks murdering a tyranid will cure it
Lmao
in that case yeah she can just be in Commorragh as one of the many Succubi thats in charge of the cult
they are basically killer cheerleaders anyway
The pom poms are actually Mon'keigh heads
They're like less cool daughters of khaine
These pom pom contains used syringes
Here’s an idea. What if they were a botched resurrection gone right-ish like they ended up soul bound to another powerful individual, freeing them from slaanesh’s grasp.
Little plot armor-y but workable.
Honestly the Fire Angels are probably my new favorite chapter that follows the Imperial Creed. And from my analysis, they're like Black Templars but choose not to be unhinged 24/7.
@rose thorn another thing you could do is have a pre-collapse eldar get stuck in a set of circumstances (warp travel, stasis field, etc.) and have them emerge in the present.
Leaving them unaffected by the fall.
I love how ork kommandos are actually a real threat because everyone dismisses them with "orks cant be stealthy"
Hey is, there even a way Drukahri can tell the difference between a half horn and true born?
Yes
when a trueborn is a trueborn they will entirely reek and act like a rich pompous prick
Vatborn are very easy to tell because they are like crackheads and people you can tell actually earned their status or stabbed their way to it
Its a bit hard to explain but its the same way you might look at a businessman and a bluecollar worker
Trueborn: "hoi, bring me my wine" continues to sneer
So it’s All visually?
Mostly yeah
Trueborn are naturally slimy assholes, vatborn are crackhead nutjobs?
So, it would be completely fitting if my succubus was a half born, and she gas lit people into thinking she’s true born
2 elves putting up with each others to actually get a kid is a miracle
Yeah entirely
i mean
you can say that about us too

adults are terrible, who knew
basically one chooses to be a prick, the other was born a prick
Doesnt eldar take like century to reproduce
I wouldn't say that long,
All elves in fiction do yeah
eldar is never really specified
if it was space marines you'd get like 10389 books explaining the process
Except warcraft
Or that too
Or decade
But yeah a lot of dark eldar are entirely vatborn
so a good chunk of the population is what you might consider "street rats" by nobles
And the Haemonculi are actively making them worse

Soemthing like
‘Vri the three quarters born’ she was a vat born who was pretty beautiful for a vat born. So eventually she began just lying to fucking everyone that she’s a true born. And anyone who dares to question her she just murdered.
It’s gotten to the point where people aren’t too sure if she is. But everyone was either gas lit or too scared to assume not
With her completely bullshit status she eventually some how became a succubus of a circle of the cursed blade
Yeah that sounds entirely dark eldar to me
also perfect highschool gossip material
which fits wych cults lol
Nothing like good old gaslighting, a common habit for Drukhari.
Insufferable Drukhari who has never intentionally tortured anyone- casual conversation with her is so painful it sustains her
Actually that would be a cool idea for a homunculus, im@doing dark creed to he’s like ‘of course the most terrifying thing, is your predator’
He likes to rip apart and stich back together animals and nids to try to make the perfect predator
Lmao,l
@rose thorn Or they could build a trueborn alter ego that mostly deals indirectly with people. And if someone tracks that identity to the succubus, she might gaslight them into thinking that the succubus is just a fake identity?
Gaslight, Gatekeep, Gladiatrix
Vri the 3 quarters born, she was a vat born scum who one way or another joined the cursed blade. And eventually noticed that the true born wyches always brought in more attention and were usually more famous. So she hatched this entire fucking scheme where she made up a story of being a true born who was abandoned as a baby to create a sympathetic story and to gas lighting people into thinking she’s a true born. This story completely blew out of the water and caused a hysteria of people obsessed with tracking down who her parents are, believing she might be of a royal descent. She began faking assassination attempts on her self and making up more pieces to this fictional puzzle. Anyone who dared to question anything about her story were always soon to find them selves dead by her hand.
fake it till you make it
She eventually grew so popular form the mystery of her store she became a succubus. She made absolutely sure to psycho indoctrinate the blood brides to murder anyone who dared to belittle her story and her name by questioning her story.
Now she is juggling her career, story, and murder
In order to take a break from all of the questions and stress and fake and real assassination attempts she joins a load of raids
To my understanding wouldn’t her fanbase also murder anyone who questions her story considering Succubi are like Dhrukari idols?
After almost a year, I have finally finished this animation gaaaah

How many loyalist primarchs are still around?
Good question
Guilliman and Lion are out kicking
Vulkan is probably alive
Corvus is hunting Lorgar
Russ is.... Somewhere, but alive
Dorn is.... Somewhere, probably dead but unconfirmed
Khan is probably somewhere in the webway or probably Commoragh
Sangy and Ferrus are dead
So around 5 we know for sure are not dead, 2 are up in the air, and 2 are dead dead
Alpharius is alive.
He's not a loyalist
His views go a bit beyond singular loyalty as demonstrated by Alpha Legionnaires having a set of codes for different scenarios
How do we know the Alpha Legion isn’t loyal in the grand scheme of things?
But yes they were traitors through and through, trying to get Horus to win because they were told it would destroy humanity and save the universe in the long run iirc
It's not as high brow as people make it out to be, they had a goal and were schemers
Their loyalties are simple to grasp with context
Idk. I still like the theory half the legion are traitors, half are loyalist, and then there’s the twin primarchs in the middle of things. Choosing their own path and trying to prevent the destruction of humanity while also ensuring that the Imperium is also weak to make their own plans a lot simpler.
They're all brainwashed to a comical point, they basically can't be split up
That and they're ALL obsessed with the "bigger picture"
Perhaps not. But you can’t deny from the novels that they aren’t brainwashed to believe some really contradictory things
Exactly why it's way simpler
You tell them codeword A, they do Operation B
You tell them codeword C, they do Operation D
I was fairly sure for now it’s just lion and Guiliman for sure but I wanted to double check
Can’t wait to see all the retcons and shit to milk that
Yeah most of them are alive they just have to say so
^
I mean, most of the chaos primarchs are either confirmed dead or confirmed alive
Like all of them are basically lost in the warp or disappeared
Horus is the only one dusted
Like we knew where Guilliman was, we knew where Lion was
Smart business practices/writing there
Well of course
It helps that the whole primarchs business is mostly handled by a company that pretty much only writes to sell said models
This basically lmao
They can't kill their golden boys, who'll be the protagonist?
Fr
At least the models look baller
Lion looks like a generic space marine
they showed him first in the reveal
and instantly moved on
LMAO
Yep
Just "The Lion is back and he's badass anyway here's new Goats"
The daemon primarchs more so but theres more of them around
40k fans when you introduce the concept of subjective morality and that there’s however many or few protagonists as you want them to be
30K Lion straight up had a better reveal
It's a product
Company won't kill of product
Oh for sure
You cant tell me angron doesnt look awesome
Except for the ones that they did
Like, you ever wonder why chapters have long ass histories of dead chapter masters and massive named character attrition rates
Except when you get to characters with models and stories
And ones that are currently alive
Lysander should be dead, but he isn't
Historically, Karlaen, Corbulo etc. Should be dead as fuck but they aren't, and Dante is literally two thousand years old
Dante is a fossil
did bjorn finally die?
