martyrdom
Lol
Also 4 of the imperial assassin types aren’t useful in this situation
You don’t need a sniper, infiltrator or anti psyker
Actually the culexus might be useful
Or a poisoner
i kinda just want to see the shenanigans happening on terra now
Ehhh the whole psychic connection thing with gsc
Might be an issue
it's not a full on war though right
It is yeah
They are
But there aren't enough of them
don't all galaxy wide arbites have an interest
Also it’s not very public what’s happening
The custodes are trying to keep it contained
They still have their own planets to protect also
No
They’re Uber fucked up
Genetically
It’s like trying to infect a csm
Their dna is just fucked beyond belief
It's also just not how they work
^
Their main deal is just reproducing
Custodes don’t have kids
Neither marines nor custodes reproduce
And are probably sterile
They also just
Have the mental strength to block out the signal as well probably
So imagine you have this rich family
They have a kid named Timmy who's nice and healthy
They give him to the custodes, and he's then subjected to months to years of brutal gene editing and alchemy
do they still do it
Yes
They are quite literally sculpted
i thought custodes were all from way long ago
The tech is
A lot of them are, but they can still make new ones
It’s mostly likely dark age of technology crap
so they dont have gene seeds
No they're all individually edited from the ground up
how do space marines view them
Holy guardians of the emperor
no animosity for not being true space marines?
why
Yeah, marines are a cheap knockoff using a shortcut
They see them as a flawed creation
Pour one out for Ra Endymion, that boy knew what his orders were and did not hesitate to run with Drach'nyen stabbed into him.
Guess who caused the heresy
lol
Were a bad idea
One of them straight up hates guilliman lol
And constantly argues with him
so do custodes predate primarchs
Yes
yes
Yeah by a while
now this is funny
They’re unification war era
so they're like thunder warriors
The earliest ones are the children of old Terran chieftains
older???
And much more delicate
They were the first genewarriors
The emperor made
But it was way too costly lol
And he couldn’t secure the territory he needed
who's the oldest still alive
We dunno
Fingers crossed that Ra Endymion, leader of Squad Dynastes, is still alive. somehow inside the blade.
During the siege of terra
Also this
It’s prolly Constantine
Who’s the first custodes
And also really really weird
Even for a custodes
are they all weird
Sorta?
well their names can be an essay long
They’re flesh constructs to an extent
They’re 100% loyal to the emperor
Always agree with him deep down
They're all mega indoctrinated but also have a kind of fucked up individuality that cannot oppose Emp's
Yeah
They can consider other view points
They can argue
But they physically can't oppose him
Remember how Trazyn released a Custodes he kept in his collection during the Fall of Cadia?
so do they know what he wants
should've brought the thunder warrior instead, lol
Yesnt
They're a bit more than body guard
But he also didn't tell all of them everything
^
The majority are just there to sound cool and obey
Aquilan Shield are my fave
do they sound cool
No
fuck
Since again they cannot disagree with emps basically at all
can they take on primarchs
Which ends up being a very weird contrast to them being giga reasonable for everything except that
No
The only one to sort of hold his own in a casual sparring match was Valdor
The rest nah
The ones sent to body guard guilliman basically wondered how the fuck
They were gona keep up with him
Custodes are still modded/perfected humans
Primarchs are a different organism entirely
Also custodes are never psychic
why
Idk
Dunno, lack of psyker gene maybe
They almost always work with the sisters of silence
Tbf
So it might be an intentional design
Maybe emps wanted to be cooler
Lol
Ykno talking about all this the custodes really are just a monument to Emp's ego
they literally wear gold armour

Custodes have a good relationship with the Sisters of Battle. Morvenn Vahl, Current Abbess of the Adepta Sororitas and one of the high lords, uses a power spear as part of her arsenal, which was gifted to her by the Golden Banana Heads.
They are pain stakingly crafted, perfect warriors who can't ever beat him
Knowledgeable scholars, artists and philosophers who can't never match or challenge him
so can custodes kill sly marbo
No
fuck
Sly Marbo is a constant force, ain't nothing can kill Sly Marbo but Sly Marbo.
Prolly for a bit lol
Then the tank sized fauna will get them
That totally isn’t a devolved tyranid
Better than the chaos marines
i wanna pet it
The Fauna did the heavy lifting during the Indomitous Crusade. By the time the Imperium arrived, the Chaos incursion was taken care of.
That’s just Jerry he’s chill
is there a single edible fruit on catachan
Statement of the swarm lord about something that resembles a tyranid
actually we keep seeing lists of things that will kill you but never a list of safe things on catachan
But most of the more peaceful flora and fauna prolly don’t get mentioned because they’re boring
No one’s gone talk about the Uber fast growing grass
Or a tree that explodes if you set it on fire
I wonder if i can find a way to harness the growth properties of that, in order to make plants grow quicker to meet supply demands
face eater
There are only things that are “safe” are when they are compared to everything else on that planet
the heretic ant
Heretic ants are hilarious ngl
catachan guys must eat something
Also horrifying
They do
Catachan devils are edible
They hunt them with tanks usually lmao
There’s grox as well but they became carnivores on that planet
that planet has no chill
Yeah pretty much
That explains stonetooth harker
Whatever he's eating definitely helped him
how do these fuckers keep getting such gains
their rations are straight up protein shakes
It's catachan, there is a lot of protein rich animals in that place i bet
Also that same life forces constant work outs every day just to live
i bet the dirt doesn't want to kill you
But what about what’s living in the dirt
oh the bugs
Heretic ants
they must be edible
what's a heretic ant
And secretive
‘Janitor Jay and The Swarm Lord’
So what about the ork population on the planet
And it’s so fuckinh funny
Having fun
Al I imagine is some poor janitor not realizing there’s a Tyranid invasion with his headphones in
And then there’s the swarm lord
There are Orks in catachan?
There’s orks everywhere, anywhere an orks died there’s orks
Yes. A named ork psyker came from there
Fair point
Check your shoes there might be on in there
A named Ork weirdboy
Hold on
And if you find someone who says AOS is terrible because it destroyed warhammer fantasy
That’s also an ork
tyranids let me live if i clean the toilets
Mopping for the hive mind
they're pretty chill actually
Their job is to keep the area around the birthing pools clean
Yep could turn people into squigs
Can’t let any on slip
smoking a joint with a hive queen
Has to be Old Zogwort
Yep
His favorite spell is turning people into squigs
Used to think that but after some time of accepting i decided to like aos
They have some baller shit
I admit the stuff that’s old world, is kinda eh. Like bone breakers need an update. But tbh I don’t like 90% of old world not counting TWW
But I’m also a dnd nerd who actually reads the lore
So maybe I’m too pre exposed to normal fantasy shit
Oh good I was worried I was being hypocritical
I agreed, don't get me wrong i absolutely love warhammer fantasy but some of their designs getting given life treatment definitely helped a lot
Especially some of the more unknown monsters
And you know characters
Also gw is smart enough to put a black market to a lot of it old old fantasy stuff
I'm pretty sure kroak can survive getting blown up
I get liking fantasy
but there's a level of like you need to understand what you want to criticize
“GW KILLED MY FAVORITE FACTION
”
There is a thin line between liking something and being obsessed with it
yeAH
And these guys have clearly cross the line
Is it bad that I want to see one solo a chaos chosen
and that's why it was successful!
Don’t forget the empire’s favorite unit
The money lenders
I will admit
Gw replaced the lore with something a lot cooler
And not as racist
But yeah pls don’t trust oldhammer purists pls.
lol
gw made an open like
"hey we fucked up"
"for now own we will make sure nothing liek this gets through and we make this hobby open for everyone"
and they have kept their word
holy shit the one on the left
yeah
see this is why i don't touch fantasy
and i actually hope twitter makes GW apologize for that shit
like christ that wasn't made in the 60's
They already did, like 2 years ago
As long as they don’t do something stupid and bring it back for old world
Pull a Fanta ‘old time flavor’
‘Nothing beats the classics’
‘Rewind back to the past’
Fanta was invented in nazi germany during a crisis, and the German branch of coke who were cut off from the us wanted sugar reserves 💀
So no shit rotten apples and cheese rag juice were used to make the cal or
They apologized for it years ago
like twice
they know its wrong at the very least
you can complain about the racism but that center one would make a boss-ass advisor unit.
Do warrior priests exist in AoS
ye, ill be fair and say im not really liking it as a game, but look wise idk what the fuck they talk about
now that i think about it how's the aos content on warhammer+? considering i literally can't find something about it anywhere else
usually if it was in the old world it's also in aos
What a take lmao
Which monkey said this
"My setting on a world that's just irl bastardized with boring tropes is creatively superior to this high fantasy setting with unique factions"
I dislike there not being unit production/buildings
btw i just noticed the kruelboyz for the first time and all i can say is what did they do to my orks
Fantasy has: undead Egyptians with names pulled straight from mythology, literal basic stereotype vampires in fucking Warhammer transylvania
AoS has: a reanimated mass of bones filled with warrior constructs immune to the horrors of war, a horde of ghastly criminals punished for their crimes in death, deranged courts of deformed, freakish, cannibalistic nobility and just vampire counts in AoS
aren't the deformed cannibalistic nobles just strigoi basically?
Think the Strigoi weren't deranged like that?
or however the fuck the deformed vampires were called
yep just checked, flesh eater courts are basically aos strigoi, but crazier
THere are still normal looking Orks around
That guy runs laps and shits on basically every old fantasy design
ye ik of Ironjaws
and well the savage orks
Least based AoS model
tbf this makes me think about all the characters like Leontus who are said to be followed by literal armies of underlings and their models are literally just them in the shittiest pose they could find
i like Kruleboyz, they have reasons to be that thin
Head Chaos Honcho, Master of the End Times, Everchosen, Grand Marshal of the Apocalypse
Idk man something tells me that GW doesn't actually hate AoS
The AoS artist look like they are getting a lot of fun and liberties
The FB model was cooler
imo they should have went more for the "disproportioned limbs" part of their physiology, as they stand they look like malnourished uruk-hai
oh shit that's the first time i see archaeon model on aos lol
Where’s the slaanesh head too
Slaanesh is dead

ye
shhhh those are corrupted elves
Teclis and Tyrion killed it lmao
You can go to the AOS part of the GW store and buy slaanesh units tho
It's coming back now but it was gone for a while
I wonder if they planned the same in 40k
i thought the bastard was at prison
And is also still imprisoned
With Eldrad’s thing, but backtracked last minutes
basically slaneesh the god is gone his followers are not
Eldar lore in a shellnut
Were they planning on removing slaanesh toatally even from 40k
But backtracked on it
can they still use the lore of slaanesh?
Sounds like it with the Ynnari
But they probably realized literally no one cared about the Ynnari
And the books were also ass apparently
you know slaanesh related magic
Ynnari definetly got the axe when they realized their story was going too fast
wich is most probably what's gonna happen once again with vashtoor
Oh yeah you can actually have a narrative in AoS without it destroying the entire setting
Oh shit

Nice
I like the Ynnari. 🥹 But I get your point. 😁
my recent expedition into age of sigmar have convinced me that GW love it far more than 40k
i don't think that's exactly true, since aos definitely doesnt bring in as much as 40k, but there's definitely a lot of love for aos and it's really neat
it doesn't simply cause 40k isn't a new title tbf
aos isn't new either it's like eight years old
dude warhammer 40k started in 87
I used to not really like AOS, but after learning some things about it I can't help but say I've never been more glad to be wrong, i mean look at this Killaboss on Corpse-rippa Vulcha, it looks sick
It's their second biggest earner
Probably why they're comfy investing this much in it
my personal favourite is the chaos lord on karkadrak
ive found myself loving the s2d models, i think they look so much better than chaos marines
i've had a tonne of fun painting my old start collecting: s2d box recently, it's really rekindled my love fOR CHAOS
mine is a Megaboss on a Maw-Krusha
Cabbage
Also The funny thing is it's basically a tigrex in monster hunter
i do not know what a tigrex in monster hunter is but i appreciate how huge of a lad that dragon is
Similar. It's mostly still not my cup of tea. But I mostly like how they are using the bigger design space they now have.
Oh yeah that thing can glide
reason?
Gravity don't want smoke with them
I'm watching adepticon livestreams rn and there's this one guy that, for like half the video, just nagged on about Primaris
Like ok Gamza chill
i mean concept of primaris isn't original but with how the setting is going right now they need everything they can get
Least decked out AoS character
even the savage orks look pretty good
as i always said primaris could have been a good idea if they were presented as marine upgrades and not as fully new marines
Yeah that's the thing but that's not enough reasoning to say that they're the worst decision ever made
They even had a basis for it with the raptors
i mean obviously they weren't the worst thing done to 40k by a longshot
Or whatever the hell Corvus made
I like the normal Primaris space marine models. The proportions look way better than the old space marines. Not happy about the fluff, but once the transition is over, it feels easy enough to ignore?
yeah like, they could have just introduced the rubicon without the whole "Emperor palpatine hiding the biggest army in the galaxy" moment and it would have been fine, hell, the ultima founding could have even still occured without it being done from literal activated blank slates
True. And why focus on the stuff you don't like that much? Who cares? It's a big setting, just focus on what you like. It's not like it's getting ruined by that one single thing. Not even Tau and Custodes managed to do that. 🤪
i mean, design wise i love them except for the reaver skull helmet, lore wise it wasn't the best decision but it was fine for me
The only way I interpreted the arrival of the primaris was, "oh now you guys are deciding to do something new besides ******* yourself"
great value primaris marines
What is it lorewise ?
mostly the fact they got the Sith Trooper treatment of literally being activated out of nowhere and the fact this was able to go unnoticed for 10 thousand years while it would require like, multiple forge worlds worth to produce that much equipment
It should have just been a new armour mark and weapons/formation
Maybe made the process less risky so they could recruit faster
Fantasy chaos have always been better than chaos marines
That's cause they are still Mortals, not SM
Well, not to say SM aren't Immortal or anything
normal dudes are very often more interesting than stinky "immortals" because there's pretty much always a desire to make the immortals all "ooohhh we're so different from humans because we're immortal" and most of the time that's hideoussly botched and leads to uninteresting characters
in this essay iw ill-
I mean making an immortal character without making them a mary sue is quite an achievement i must say
I think one of the most well done character that's immortal for me would be the chosen undead from dark souls
Chaos Warriors are ones who’ve crossed the rubicon with gifts
They have no more mortal cares, while normal chaos followers like marauders still have human cares like family, shelter etc
Well, you could paint them as a more pronounced kind of Boomer. 😁 But for some reasons, authors appear hesitant to make their immortals feel... old.
Yeah it would be hard for an immortal not to change his personality after living for so long
can you imagine being immortal and having to remember 1000 years of your life?
Yeah after a point you naturally would just stop caring
About nationalities, about politics, about people, about time etc
its why most people consider immortality worse than death sometimes
I wouldn't mind personally. if your brain remains unaffected then after 200 years you go redo the same stuff you've already done and feel like it's new again
I made a low effort meme about Kais and it's now my most upvoted post
Personally, I like it in Doctor Who (sometimes), the 40k Dreadnoughts and some Vampires. And Gaimans Endless, of course. But a lot of it is just 20-year-Olds that got very powerful, and sometimes arrogant.
Thats kinda established in Twice Dead King, where necrons are told to have hobbies otherwise they'll actually go insane with time
also at a certain point of not caring about time you can start doing dumb stuff like spending 500 years digging a tunnel from the US to england
Yeah but like thats easier said than done
having hobbies is good but it will eventually start to slowly rub away at you
yeah i'd probably get extremely bored after 50 years lmao
also those horror scenarios of being stuck somewhere and having to wait hundreds of years to get out
Yeah or just being alone
it reminds me of this one DC story where Savage an immortal dude succeeds in his evil supervillain plan and kills the entire world
then he realises he fucked up immensely because hes immortal and all alone now

True. People might be the hardest part. Might not go without them, might no longer bear losing them. It's a lose-lose scenario for most
Yeah we are social animals
like i remember one vsauce video where they lock him in a room for 7 days and without human contact or any sort of interaction he actually starts going mental

its very rough to watch
Introverts. 😁
No I'm just lonely
i actually wouldn't care about the everybody dying part
like you can start a family and then see it grow over the millenia, guiding it to prosperity
Oh no i meant like theres no human life left
true
if like civilizations are actually there then yeah people you know dying are not too "bad".
Once the actual family you had alongside other relatives are gone you'll probably eventually move on
anyone else after that is just a random person you kinda would care but move past in your life probably
oh that's just great great great great great great great grandfather bob

I'm not so sure about that. Does losing your second dog hurt less than hurting your first dog?
I mean it depends
mostly on the connection you make with the person in question

i sure as hell would never own a pet becuse i deal with loss terribly
I agree. But I also think that getting attached is a very human thing
Not sure if it kinda fades over time. I'm not that old yet. 😁
It definitely fades if you've lived long enough i think
we just dont really know because we all live around 90-100 years or so
it probably fades like it does for soldiers
but that could also be mental trauma sooooo
could also be a societal thing
brain is fucked up mang
i think some cultures see death as less of a sad event than others
after 1000 years you probably find a way to cope
i'd write down every death i knew so as not to forget them
yeah some cultures see it as like uh
another chapter in life
which is a very nice way to cope on it
on another note, you might be able to play any of the new games, and maybe just maybe GTA 6
yeah let's be real we'd probably play video games forever and become the kings of all MMO's due to time investment
Or the fact that we can try every game possible without really missing out because well you can just wait for it to go into sale
and get an infinite money glitch by just putting 100$ in an investment account and waiting 100 years
I swear I can just see the image of the accountant's face
"sir, how are you alive it's been 100 years"
"oh you know, good diet, exercise..."
guy looks like he's 25
Yeah but I think he has to fake his identity to just you know say like
Oh he's my ancestor
Because no way in hell they will believe you lived for 100 years
i don't think banks let you do that though
yeah
honestly banks probably have a hidden clause that says anybody with immortality is not eligible
Hey is their any modern day weapon that can pierce Space Marine armor? Me and my friend are trying to see if Postal Dude could kill one.
I mean almost literally anything
or just any explosive/armor piercing weaponry
I also unfortunately never played Postal so I dont know how supernaturally deranged Postal Guy is
If it wasn't made of Fantasy materials we could know, but generally if it goes big boom it can at the very least wound one
Autogun can sometime peirce it so yes
POV Fist captain at the siege of terra
Yeah but tbf for the argument of postal dude vs a marine i think the armour is the least of concerns
Considering what postal dude did is the average Tuesday of a guard veteran, and that's counting paradise lost too
As long as it has a decent stopping power and you know where to aim it will likely go through
Postal Dude is basically your strongest Savlar Chemdog
he will get Guilliman to sign his petition
📋
anything explosive/anti tank can deal with a marine fine
considering Genestealer cultists make pipe bombs on crack to kill them
Tbf yeah, you could just look at the genestealer cultists arsenal
The fuckers are offing custodes on terra I guess they can deal with marines
Yeah most of their arsenals are like ultra-penetrative stuff
aka high-end mining tools made to damage hard minerals and such
like lasers, saws, grinders, etc
I mean they will need that considering the fact that the imperium tends to go over the top with extermination problems

don't look at me like that you know damn well what happens to the populace if a certain heretical rat gets into the city
I am the reason why tertium got diseased. They focused on the 6th betraying but it was really me, the warp rat!
he's a lot more deranged in the first game. in the second game he's just a nihilist.
he had become consumed by 4chan
most probably anything specifically made to be anti materiel like american 50 cal and up. Shotguns would have absolutely no effect with buckshot but assault rifles could maybe penetrate if you hit weakspots
the first game ends with a mock sequence where you're at a kindergarten. It caused so much outrage that the media hooked into it and said you can kill kids in the game. You can't really do that though, all the kids are invincible on purpose so you're left shooting with no effect as the game fades into the ending where postal dude spends an eternity in hell
it's a pretty fucked up game
*the first postal

The worst part is that it use to represent going so off jn the deep end, you do something that’s unimaginable
But I’m the remake it’s not in the game because it’s not soemthing unimaginable anymore

Scalpers are being weird on eBay, they are selling leviathan for like, 5 bucks more lamo
Or selling halves of the box for a reasonable price
I remember seeing soul guard for 500 dollars why are they being so modest
store stocks might be catching up to them
if they're selling for such low profit margin then they're desperate to get rid of their "investments"
feels so good to imagine some idiots with mountains of product desperately trying to get back what they paid for
really annoying that companies have to pump out a ton of product just to overwhelm scalpers
like we're at the point with online stores that scalpers literally cause shortages
They learned to counter them this once after like... how many botched releases now, 7-8?
maybe when they start realizing how much money they're losing from product collecting dust on shelves they'll start adding the many anti bot features that exist
it's been ruining card games for many years
playing magic is like going into the stock market now
but words cannot express my hatred of people who take advantage of niche hobby communities to make money
and again this will only make hobby companies lose a ton of money from lost sales and then excess product
me when I want to do commission art
You steal all the items from a store and sell them yourself to make money?
I do that a lot too

I buy them for cheap and sell them at a mark up
At least
That's what my family does

Grocery scalper is one hell of a job title
Buying all the eggs before national breakfast day
Very, just sociopathic af
Immortality, unless with very very specific stipulations is a curse for sure
you'd start forgetting kinda like how you don't remember being a very smol kid
I don't remember last week
that's the point, with immortality you'd probably start losing the sense of time completely after your first century
If I became Immortal I porbably try to develop various skills, like learn to use excel perfectly, wood working and such, would be the only way to stay sane
And pick up a Personal Journal or something
What would the 40K equivalent of 'his voice sounds like he gargles with glass'?
i mean, glass is a thing in 40k?
so i guess the same?
unless i misunderstood the question
It just sounds a little too mundane... If it helps, the speaker is Guardsman?
He sound like he gargles with Kraks grenades ?
"did the enginseer get a hold of his throat?"
I like yours, Monsi. (and then man with the fucked up voice turns around and reveals a freaking BABY wrapped up in a blanket.)
Little boy is the sole survivor of settlement that had been sacked by Khornites.
I don't know when you will use something orky but
"Da git sounds like he'z got a Choppa shoved down his neck"
Nah, it's going to be a Guardsman, reporting about an encounter with a Warframe. Said Warframe had found an infant survivor of a sacked settlement and was looking for some humans to return the child to.
Ah yes, out of curiosity what is the Warframe going to be just a basic excalibur?
Or you're talking about the different type of Warframe
Oh so it is from the game
Yes.
Personally more of a rhino main myself, had to stop playing because grinding ain't really my thing and the drop chances can be abysmal
Suffice to say, Asha and her 'frames cause MUCH confusion to the Imperium.
Even a basic warframe can f*** up a good portion of the imperium
Good luck trying to get through the armor of a rhino while he can plow through all the tanks you have
Good luck trying to catch excalibur
And don't even get me started on the other warframes
Frames and operators, especially modern post new war and all That shaz literally only have the problem of numbers
Main thing through is that I wouldn't see them helping the imperium to begin with consider they are basically Grineers with Even more slavery
Yeah, but make sure the mechanicus is at least 10,000 light years away from them because i am pretty f****** sure that warframe technology will have them interested if you know my drift
Tbf warframes regularly one man handle capital ships size threats
Not like Asha's got a lot of choices...
Yeah, that's a fair point
I mean, in game you literally wage a war against 2 different factions while helpings small rebel settlements
But I get the point
Yeah they would still have a problem with psychic attacks through
I'm not well versed in warframe lore so can you tell me the average power level of an average warframe
Eeeeeh, it's weird, but basically consider 1 the equivalent of a guard regiment minimum
In terms of fighting capabilities
Then you get on the reality benders side of frames and that just gets to bullshit power creeping
Also the stuff they fight is usually on the same level of bonkers as 40k threats
I like rhino, but i do want to know where he places in power level
Because well they don't really explain how strong he is
Basically any frame can Atleast de-crew a space ship in it's entirety
Rhino can be described with Sundowner screaming "I'm fucking invincible"
Because his gist is being well, the Og tank frame
And his most devastating attack is a stasis stomp
Ye, then you have people like vauban who's power is batman's utility belt.
Or limbo who mastered creating small dimensional fractures
So it scales very wildly
damn
Yeah and thats not counting the weapons in themselves
Like, the grineer most basic weapon is the equivalent of a mechanicum Macrostubber
Jesus
"You'd expect a ship of the Plaugefather's cult to be filthy and disease riddled, but no... This one looked like someone had taken a Flamer, or maybe even a Meltagun to the inside of that Hertic ship..."
Tbf lorewise they were created to deal with robots that have even more adaptation capabilities than the nids, and on the fly too
So I guess bonkers threat requires bonkers countermeasures
Damn, power level my ass this is a power rubik's cube while playing chess asleep
Ye, there's a reason it's like millions of years in the future
Revelation: 40k is mid to low high on the power level scale when it comes to scifi
Yep
Yeah a lot of people dont really realise this
That's been a long revelation of mine really i just don't pay attention to those other sci fi stuff
Like people keep praising the bolter even though inside the universe there are even more ridiculous guns
A gun that can atomize you a gun that is a living creature a gun that has bullets that have brains in them
People keep gawping at the Daemonculaba despite there being many, MANY worse fates in setting
^
probably the one that annoys me the most
especialyl as a female fan

"OMG HYPER GORE PREGNANCY"
motherfucker read some books
The motto of warhammer 40k is
It can't get worse can it?
Fortunately it can
Meanwhile the small living meat fetishes that Curze used to wear
"omg this is fucked up!"
The Haemonculi: "Allow us to introduce ourselves"
40k is just mid like Ede said imo
Eh, 40k is really not that much, most of the stuff is literally "it's a modern thing... But Big"
its ridiculous but like
It's absurd, not powerful
a single Gundam can also just wipe out an entire titanclade
this yeah lol
unfortunately only imperial fans get pissy when you tell them how a Guardian squad from Destiny can probably take out an entire space marine fortress monastery like its a raid event

No, the guy with literal immortality can't fight my super dude with less tech than the guardian!
Yeah it's absurd but there are other sci-fi things out there that can probably kick it in, like pancreas no work said for example that forerunners in halo would immediately hit a good portion of the universe
Oh god you reminded me
theres also like nightmarish scenarios such as the Flood too
which is like a universe ending threat since they can literally infect reality itself

They can infect everything
Except master chief of course
More than the infection part
Yeah, you think the tyranids is bad well
Imagine being so horrifying that they made the weapon designed specifically to f*** you over by killing everything besides you
Is the fact they retain ALL ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE INFECTED
And ADD IT TO THE HIVE MIND
I think the worst part of the Flood is unlike Nids they literally learn from EVERYONE they consume, the moment they consume someone important in the Imperial chain of command its fucked
Tbf that's straight up what Kryptman did
realistically speaking you cannot deal with something like that
Rememeber the flood piloted a Unsc space ship right into earth
It was a covenant ship
John, the car just drives without fuel
Damn it harry, i told you this green mushroom people aren't good
Oh true
They piloted the In Amber Clad into High Charity though
Yeah they can just do that to any imperial world
because the biomass is just insane

the moment they get off-world is when shit gets real bad
at that point they'd just make a massive infected bio-spacehulk
A fight between the tyranid and the flood would be the greatest pokemon battle the universe has ever seen on god
fr fr
tho im guessing the Flood would come out on top since they infect more than consume
its what makes them so dangerous
All it takes is a few waves of infection forms and its kinda over once it snowballs out of control
Yeah, unless the hive mind can adapt to the spores fast enough, the way i see it if they will engage a hive fleet win that fight and the next hive fleet would be a bit more resistant to the flood
Yeah point of the flood is that they don't consume nothing, but get everything
Yeah the flood also kinda work like orks where the infection's abilities to infect get more OP the more the horde grows
A guard regiment would literally have the guardsmen shooting each other as an infected guard could just start shooting his friends while horribly mutating
Yep guardsman stand no chance
Space marine immune system is pretty good but it's only a matter of time until they to succumb
Oh yeha deffo
because like
Marine biology is resistant sure but this is more of a forceful infection
and its been show they CAN get influenced by Genestealer DNA
Nah, considering how no species in the halo galaxy could be not infected I think the only stop is literally just energy shields
The only faction that would slap the flood would be chaos, that's if there human followers can survive long enough to summon daemon hordes
Okay yeah true i was just trying to be fair

Also true
When even the forerunners had to resort to Nuking the galaxy you know shit went wrong
Flood have the logic plague for non biologicals
Ye but flood Hive minds are actually smart you know
Yeah That
The only thing I can see happening is maybe the crons already being too insane to be bothered by it
Unfortunate
Thankfully the Imperium is so corrupt and tangled in it's own bureaucracy no one person knows enough to cause major collapse
The Codex at work
The moment a flood form infects a forge world
Or a servitor colony
Imperium accidentally quarantines flood by making ships too exclusive
"What do you mean i have to slap holy water on this and say i love you machine to make this god damn reactor work"
Quite so
Yeah the Flood most of the time need to be NERFED since otherwise they'd literally kill everyone
Too bad no one in the imperial chain of command knows what is going on v.v
L bozo
Sabbat crusade my beloved conflict
Just convince the almighty Gravemind to love the emperor.
Also yeah, on the matter of that, imagine if someone like the didact would compose an entire Hive world
And toss a single flood infected naval slave out the air lock
Literally got the infinite troops glitch
"Convince the grave mind"
As if you can get close enough to the damn thing
I wish we got more UNSC ships, the designs are so pretty
I mean arbie and chief did, Keyes meanwhile got a bit too close
I did. They smell kinda unique
Necrons can also do these with their canoptek constructs where you can just form an entire infinite army of them more or less, but nobody tries this because it would break the setting if this one necron overlord decided wage war that way lmao
Wait a minute
Oh hell no
Shoots you

And they also don't like waging war like that iirc? They're like grognards but in universe
Kinda
i dont think its ever addressed
its more of a logic the fans formed themselves
Necrons only dislike very few ways to wage war
Bro when the flood enters the warhammer universe, that celestial orrery disco party about to be very lit
Crons are usually leading their own armies so I figure it might be their own weird honour thing
So called "sentient necrons" when I put a magnet on their mother boards.
Bruh thats like a doomsday scenario at that point
Try being smart now
Yeah but there's the difference of being produced vs a beam hits your planet, if you had any sort of brain function you got copy pasted into an hard light robot

Wich actually makes me think if composing a necron would work
Does it work on AI
Ai on halo doesn't have physical bodies to compose sadly
So we can't know
Yeah they'd be fine then
Cus they don't have "brains"
They're computers
Also check this out
Didn't a flood hive mind convinced a very smart ai
Logic plague
You posted this on fan art looks very very badass
I've talked to a lot of halo fans and other sci fi fans and I do believe that the flood is the one thing that would be able to threaten a lot of things in the 40k universe.
I've considered the sith and I'm kinda in the middle of: "they'd blow up" to "power? More power? They may adapt?" I can't really find a ground I am settled with them. Kinda just depends ig.
as we said, the thing with the flood is that it's not a zombie virus
it's an hive mind storing the entire knowledge of each infected and being able to replicate the use of said tech against them
^
like that ability alone is broken OP
the game doesnt show this as much because its too powerful lol
so if they get a hold of let's say a tech priest with a not fully rotting brain
we are fucked
Sith would be right at home in 40k
Then problem?
Everyone is better at being Sith than they are
The flood made Richard Grey
Speaking of how would flood react to ork biology
Nom
More or less entirely override it i think
Flood are much more advanced spore wise compared to orkoid spores
wouldn't care, they completely ovveride the host into a tumor-spawn
^
Orkoid spores are just hardy
And tasty, apparently
Yep i expected this much thank you for answering my question
with Nids vs Orks their battles are grounded because they still resort to weapons/melee brawls
Flood just infect
its what makes them scary
This poor flood infected computer
my guy has seen better days
Richard Grey when the flood
thing is, the war in heaven era of halo had to resort to burning the entire galaxy down
It probably wouldn't matter
We need Ben Shapiro as a chaos God so the others can unite to fight against something as a distraction as the galaxy repairs itself
don't mind me I'm distracted and dumb
No Ben can stay in his corner, this fandom has enough bad takes
That's how he will distract them. Imagine hearing his voice from the cicatrix maledictum
also yeah, stuff like the flood logic plague is not a single thing, it's a series of methods that the various grave minds know it's a sure-fire way of turning an AI to their cause
His voice echoes from it due to the breaking of reality
it can go from self-replicating data that actually corrupts the ai to the grave mind literally just having an argument and prodding them like trying to make a robot break Asimov laws
The only way to deal with the flood is to find a suspicious ring floating in space and- dies
I've died and gone to heaven
They absorb a 4chan troll
Immediately capable of breaking everything
yeah that's basically it lol
Lmao
"its abstract nature as a mutable set of ideas and concepts rather than a quantifiable conventional virus"
ye, and it got so effective the forerunners resorted to instantly blowing up any AI with a minimal sign of infection
like, literally the Inquisition exterminatus meme, but done for real
Replace the forerunners with imperium and ai with citizen
thing is it's not just the ai, but everything the ai is connected too, so you see a ship wich may be infected? the entire ship has to go
Yeah the flood is horrible
"The Composer is a machine created by the Forerunners to translate an organic being's mental content into machine data. Categorized as a sublimation device, the Composer was meant to provide seamless transitions between biological and digital states" so yeah, regarding the Composer it seems it's literally what the C'tan did but a bit more humane
well, after being melted that is
So uhh
Would the flood even like...
I mean I understand it's desires and what not but wouldn't coming into contact and consuming the 40k universe make it just
die on the inside?
nah
first off there's not a single hive mind, the more it gets bigger the more minds form
Idt it has encountered anything as dumb and repetitive as the species of the 40k universe
but yeah, a fully formed grave mind is supposed to be like, an hyper intelligent being
it literally would not care about most of the stuff happening around him
basically think of them as synapse creatures that maintain the entire knowledge and stuff of the og mind
but said synapse creatures are the size of a continent, and probably span a good part of the underground too
Absorbing mindlessness and slow recession throughout thousands of years may make it smaller (the brain is shriveling)
nah, it just uses what's actually needed
Yeah it uses any tactical info it can
if some infectors just absorbed a simple manufactorum worker they'll just only use some knowledge like
"oh hey theres a path going into the factorum from an easier way"
It can utilize every piece of knowledge and it can easily determine which is useful and which is not
Yeee
i forgot what it was doing with Keyes in combat-evolved, i think trying to get the ship off the ground and also torturing him with his past memories? Cant super recall
Depends, if its a gargantuan mass of Flood they could easily infect a c'tan too
the logic plague and the fact that flood can also infect reality helps

tbf space gods are always gonna win against "hard" sci fi stuff
Mother fucker as if it wasn't already f****** deadly
ye, problem with the warp would be that only daemons would work
and even then it would depend if the spores start adapting to the warp or not
I also forgot what Pancreas was saying but it was something about how if the Flood infected so many things in the galaxy they would develop enough psychic prowess to seal shut the Warp entirely
because they always evolve
oh yeah, we also forgot about psykers
Yeah halo doesnt have them as prominently compared to 40k
the moment a flood gets one it's over
thing is that then it could literally just reconstruct itself to produce psychic spores
Yo hive mind check this shit
Fires a lightning bolt by dancing
so it means that even if you are a blank, after infection you would have sick ass psyker powers and knowledge and training in how to use them
And yeah the problem with the flood is like... its not like 40k where every race is written to have downsides on how they cant dab on other races yet and got very obvious achilles heels and such.
Halo doesnt really have that because its not a tabletop game
its why the Flood doesnt have too many restrictions aside from Chief just having plot armor
so its why they are so broken OP
chief getting captured by the grave mind twice and said mind not doing anything about it
Yeah
A good example would be is that orks would at least need krork level shit to truly f*** up the hive mind
Yeah but they dont because writers have excuse sfor it
"they infight too much"
then you get to problems like how Ghaz gets killed by Ragnar because he needs to look good on a toy box

But said writers also said the beast just kind of existed over time so who knows
pretty much
remember the krork that was as big as a large monument? a single infection form could infect it
Yeah, the aggressive adaptability of the flood is horrific, i think they could use their Waagh power to develop a small protective barrier that eliminates flood spores, but since the flood is also probably absorbing other psychics they can find the way to get pass through the psychic power especially if they unlock the shadow of the warp dlc by eating tyranids
yeah thing is it doesn't even need to be alive
Yeah like i said above flood can basically do anything because they are written as a galactic ending threat with no speed-limiters attached
compared to 40k where nobody ever gets to fucking do anything
unless its like "Random war on random planet"
or system
or sector
or sub-sector
yep, hell, a grave mind probably wouldn't even aim at absorbing all orks
it could just eat a warboss and replicate it's personality to command the other orks
Or you know, just make better orks
tbf a single ork would mean the hive mind gets unlimited pure forms
as they would get unlimited biomass from the joint ork constant release of spores and flood biology
(wich are the bigger, meanier and scarier variant compared to basically any other infected form)
like, it's not like nids where you can stop them with attrition, the flood encountering the orks would probably literally start farming them like they do with squigs
Yeah, they would basically make the black orks of warhammer 40k, but unlike the chaos dwarves they will succeed
So the lion has his own freaking warp dimension seculeded from the rest of the warp, with chaos and the emperor leaking in sometimes. And he uses that to teleport. That’s a pretty fucking godlike power right there, and then gulliman has his special accounting skills. Doesn’t that seem like gulliman got fucked over in terms of powers
special accounting skills got his chapter the posterboys of the imperium thanks to never taking many casualties while people don't trust dark angels.
Just because someone specializes in the macro doesn't mean they're worse than someone else specializing in the micro
I'd say he's better for jt
Lion can teleport himself and some others
Guilliman can efficiently organize an entire warzone on a whim
Ye, also rememeber has the emperor's sword wich the moment he learns to use it properly chaos is gonna be fucked
Also I bet everything on the fact either the lock or the weapon are inside Lion's dimension
Considering it's a mirror of well, the key
does it perma kill demons or something
It does, but guilliman himself said only the emperor can unleash it's true potential so it most surely does more than we know
Because it already instafucks daemons in guilliman hands, so it must be something else
so could angron actually go down forever
Theoretically yes
If you can kill him in the warp maybe
He means using the emperor sword
Well that would work even more
But khorne probably hard drived him somewhere just in case that happens
I mean if he didn't gw is gonna make sure it happened off screen so yeah
Same with all the other chaos primarchs
Yeah, i'm pretty sure their respective chaos gods quick save them like how i quick save every time i play fallout new vegas
It's more the fact games workshop would never kill them off, technically the sword killed horus so you know, I don't think a single god powered one would be a problem
what if lion trips and falls
He instantly gets teleported into his dimension out of sheer panic
Tbf I didn't even count these two
The concept of the universe being alive is misrepresented, Neural Physics is just extremely advanced tech
It's just that it's something namedropped and then it's said that how it works it's "incomprehensible" to all species except the Precursors
And by extension, the flood
(also it's a more complex way to say souls exist)
Assassinating a gravemind is probably impossible since before you even make planetfall or get near it it'll probably just blow up your brain inside your helmet, or you'll just get swarmed by bioforms before you even make it to wherever it is, its not like its a Norn Queen sitting in the biggest ship in space somewhere.
As for nids, they don't really need them for intelligence, they got plenty to get it from other races, Nids would just serve as more biomass.
Since flood dont consume, they just infect and corrupt for the most part
Also yeah, trying to reach an Hive mind is like trying to blow an Hive ship from the inside, but the entire Hive ship can reform itself into the strongest versions of nids and swarm you with them.
Like, human/covenant beat the flood exclusively because of plot armour
Unless you nuke it from orbit of course, but even that could create problems
Yeah its a lot of "what ifs"
It would be about as bullshit as that time an entire space marine cadre took out the world-engine

every time a single marine squad blows up a necron tomb be like
comparing anything to flood is useless because it's an antagonist made to be unstoppable
it's like comparing stuff to star trek's borg when it was still a thing
^
Like i said above Halo doesnt have the thing 40k does where everyone gets their kneecaps busted by a writer holding a bat every time they are about to kill everyone

it's also lazy writing
The Flood is just someone wanting a universal level threat
star trek wrote themselves into a corner with the borg so they had to invent the queen lol
thats unbeatable in any practical sense
so you need to use the funny galatic clenser 9000
or "gods own anti son of a bitch machine" as its put in Halo 1
oh right this is halo we're talking about lol
the universe with the invincible and flawless protagonist

lol
death
Also this cool transfer sheet popped up online lmao
its got Raptors on it
and its an official GW product
clever girl
lol
is it fucked that im currently painting plastic army men because i don't have access to any GW stuff
so the flood perform like dogshit if they move to any other setting.
Its very much hypothetical because as we said way above all it would take is probably consuming a few psykers to adapt and create/base abilities most things have in 40k
Main problem imo is that by saying "beyond comprehension of biological organisms" could mean literally anything
From outright magic to 5th dimensional science to the warp to whatever
Yeee
Rememeber Precursors were old ones level
but when they can literally infect technology and reason with artificial intelligence and such even those feats would be enough to steamroll a lot of things in 40k
Mfer machine spirits are gonna look like pizzas melted in them by the time they are done

Computers when the mf operating it starts using philosophy to subdue it
Mechanicus reminded me how cool Skitarii are
Also teeeeechnically we have something similar to neural physics
And it's the Motive Force
It's just that the Motive force in 40k is represented as "Electricity"
No
Do what you enjoy
Kill
My build in mechanicus was mostly spamming minions and use my guys as artillery pieces
Also yeah this, it all depends on who they eat first lol
The eradication ray?
Mine was mostly use high mobility melee dudes who can call troops for free and can order them to shoot
What's the opinion of Guy Haley?
He's a guy alright
I'm finding Throneworld a bit hard to accept
He has some nice novels right? With black library it really seem to differ per book
||Black Templars have been chasing some Iron warriors for a very long time, end up being sandwiched by orks and suddenly the Black Templars allow the Iron Warrior leader to coordinate a joint defense. It makes no fucking sense.||
Thought I had a few guy Haley ones
It literally would not happen
But Guy Haley is good
Ever
