Oooh I remember that dude. He deserved that
then all main characters straight up run into incoming fire constantly and never get hit lol
i have not watched that clone wars series
Zombie Geonotions…
if you do, keep in mind the first seasons were very much a kids show so villains constantly get away
^
the more the show progresses the more badass and great it gets
also they had to do stupid shit like uh
how Anakin and Grievous never met until the prequel movie
so they can NEVER meet in the show

they really overused grievous in the first seasons
hes literally a decepticon so that checks out
That’s an understatement
Man I wish he was badass like he was in that old version
So much lost potential making him a “coward” character
i don't think they expected the show to have adult fans lol
Perhaps
god that episode with the assassin droid killing clones in the dark
Basically they use the process of laser weapon firing to heat up the gas that then gets inducted magnetically into the barrel and out of the gun, the magnetic field created keeps the plasma/charged particles together into the usual "bolt" shape
this show was so fucked up
And fun
Tl:Dr, blasters are all sci fi guns rolled into a single one
i'll never care at all about the realism of laser guns
sci fi doesn't need explanations
I just need action and death
This tbh
Just went for the best explanation given the description
it's like fantasy lovers who try to apply realisic historical context to the genre. sure it's great when done in its own bubble but trying to do it in clearly made up settings is pointless
back in the day people made up shit all the time and nobody tried to apply realism. you think isaac asimov had people criticizing him for his unrealistic depiction of robots? no, the story is the main point
I’ve been writing a book and I have found that I have explained little to nothing about both magic and or tech. I just let the names explain them.
warhammer's the wrong place to say that, WFB's main draw is that it's the realistically stupid political stuff.
im talking about the technology not the politics
honestly most of the tech has a historical context too. aside from skaven, who are using magic super uranium for everything.
oh you meant warhammer fantasy
WFB = Warhammer Fantasy Battles
ah
some of the skaven guns vaugely resemble irl ones
40k's tech is 98% termanology stolen from other sci-fi books of the era so the realism tends to be all over the place.
Ratling gun for instance
I was gona say the Jezzail
stolen is a big word
like plasma have a strictly defined mechanism that was reasonable from 80s understanding, but then you had meltaguns which-
melta'd.
He’s not wrong though
Lol I forgot about those buggers
stolen from araby and "improved" with warpstone alloys/powder.
which is what skaven do best
the main thing i dislike about fantasy is the borderline racist depiction of some areas
but it was made in a different time so whatever
the moment i saw the wiki image of the ogre kingdom i nearly died laughing
British pubs irl lol
Wasn't it retconned to be stolen from Cathay now ?
im glad that 40k made an attempt to dissociate itself with clear cut historical references
the skaven tend to lie about things both ways. they might not know which one is which.....
gazkull mag uk thraka
I mean after the dark age of technology little to nothing remained of any human history
it was the only way for the big E to hide all his cringe polititcal manifestos
Lol perhaps
it's a fantasy sci fi setting made in the last 40 years. it's not its own world isolated from our own
sci fi writers trying not to create a story about an empire and failing
I mean it’s set several millennia in the future it might as well be.
so is 40k its own completely isolated intellectual work created from scratch or does it steal ideas all the time
at this point im confused
It does but it’s not entirely made of “copies” of other ideas
It was heavily influenced by the Dune books though. Compare the lore and you will see many very interesting similarities.
I'm just saying almost everything was once inspired by real events. in an indirect way 40k cannot be completely original from ourselves
40k at least tries to not make it blatantly obvious
Name an event in 40k that is inspired by our own. I’m curious I cannot think of anything
it steals things, but makes them different enough it isn't stealing. most of the time.
that's what i've been trying to say, you can't directly say something in 40k was inspired by a historical event with 100% certainty
star wars movies for example make it a lot more obvious but still not clear cut
the tau empire being created through abandoned war materials from a larger country and developing into a pseudo-communist empire with deulsions of divine right mirriors the CCP pretty closely
wait what abandoned war materials?
The tau developed when the Etherials appeared. I don’t remember ever hearing of any abandoned war materials
tau had a warp storm then popped out advanced
i didn't know you could build a country with spare rifles
Exactly
in broad strokes fiction can’t really escape the influence of reality because we all live on earth in certain political and social environments that shape how we see the world and thus that shapes the messages, settings, politics, and p much everything we write, especially in media like 40k that’s v political in its story and themes
sent that a bit late but. you get my drift
i think it's more political than historical
How so?
political ideas can be vague and somewhat detached to their historical settings if you just look at their ideological roots
i think it’s fairly transparent that it’s meant to be a political allegory on the base level
spare rifles and suckers. you need a lotta suckers for a populist revolution, because people need to die.
I didn't know america was founded by suckers
Not back then but now it might as well have
you can't compare china to america in terms of founding,
you said populist revolution
america wasn't a populist revolution, they didn't have a populist leader.
then what was it
socialist revolution, honestly.
socialism wasn't even an idea for another 10 or so years when the French revolted
the american revolution was entirely based around kicking out the perceived wealthy british elite
you know, the world power at the time
It wasn’t perceived they were wealth elitist. No taxation without representation and such
yeah, because they were being oppressed and wanted freedom from a crushing tax system. it might not be formally socalist, but the ideals are very much that.
i said perceived as some of the revolutionary leaders were also wealthy. populism is frequently lead by people who aren't part of the class they're trying to appeal to
they wanted to be the ones to benifit from their labor, and fought for it. the academic essays might not have been written yet, but academia is always slow politically.
some of the revolutionary leaders were wealthy once the revolutionary war had kicked off. up to that point they were still mostly beholden to british trading controls and were mostly in debt from unfair practices.
you might be mixing up ideologies if you believe socialism would be against taxes
against unfair taxes, you carpetbagger.
you can't just ignore the purpose of taxes in alleviating the burden of society on the poor with a "Taxes bad".
explain to me what socialism is so we're on the same page here
well you can, if you're an authoritarian. but watch out!...
can we not turn this into a political argument
this was a political argument from the beginning, jannie.
stating basic definitions isn't political
stating basic political definitions is always political.
that's like 90% of political arguments.
liberal revolution would be the term you want. it's very difficult to get into any meaningful depth without breaking the existing no politics rules, but a meaningful divide is that liberal revolutions tend to retain existing power structures and social dynamics with new leaders, underlying ideological construction (so in this case traditional monarchy to a liberal republic) but foundationally retaining the same character. a social revolution, which almost but not quite by definition a socialist one would be, wants to somehow undo and reset these relations via whatever mechanism. i use these terms neutrally, please don't confuse with like, the american construction of liberalism, i mean in the classical sense
well your reply wasn't word salad so i don't see how it would be confused with american liberalism.
god i remember trying to learn about liberalism in philosophy class. such a complicated thing
america is usually categorized as a liberal revolution, while something like hati would be considered a social revolution
start with france, starting with american liberalism is just asking to confuse yourself.
if you wanna learn more i highly reccomend revolutions by mike duncan
S class series, legit
america plays Very loosely with the terms "liberal" and "conservative" so you more or less need a whole seperate book for them from the rest of the world.
mike duncan is a good guy to learn from.
i was about to say only american grifters make definitions a political issue
woulda been the wrongest thing you ever said.
who could imagine socialists arguing over if they are or are not socialists. mass hysteria
so the average tuesday for socalists
i've rarely seen that actually. it's mostly about whether the other group is socialist enough
just ask them how they know they're the socialists in the argument. you'll see it.
also be careful you're ready to duck, most of 'em like throwin' stuff when they have that argument
these days they just create a ton of different ones. like crypto-communist marxist socialism
those are libertarians.
libertarianism is boomers complaining about not making enough money
you can tell because only libertarians have any interest in putting cryptocurrency into politics.
i think you should go learn from non-social media sources.
crypto-communist marxism is an amusing phrase, yeah. that's like, being marxists to hide how you are secretly a communist
no crypto-something is a funny term that people actually use. it's like somewhat believing in said something but not making it the main ideology. idk it's all very vague
it means holding some beleif but presenting as if you didn't beleive that thing for whatever rhetorical reason
it's also something people use as a pejorative a lot
so when a crypto bro tries to get an artist to sign on to NFTs by pretending to not know anything and just go oh man i heard about this cool new technology! you could call them a crypto libertarian in a few ways
it's also something libertarians tack onto whatever they're trying to be that week, since it's pretty much meaningless but sounds cool.
young people who want regulations removed call themselves ancap and it's even funnier
anyone calling themselves ancap is a joke.
yet somehow people do apparently. i need to find one because i've never seen any
go to the REALLY poor places, that's where they are.
naaaah they're all in college studying economics or some shit
not the working poor, the "i get my income skimming off tax breaks for the job i'm losing money on".
people that think they're off the grid.
then all the loyalists went to pre-Canada to ruin that area
canada was going pretty damn well at that point, really.
ruin as in bring over the british colonialist mentality to it
The deathwatch is just a British museum
i mean-
having an arbitrary amount of natural resources is pretty good
it wasn't even a british colony 30 years earlier
by the american revolution it was a bunch of french colonists who'd been living there for a while being oppressed by the brits
not to mention the aboriginals
loyalists went over to colonize the mostly "empty" lands of what is now ontario and upper canada, i believe
i repeat, please learn history from non-social media sources. go check some books out at your library or something.
you are wrong in so many places it would just be derailing the whole channel to correct you.
also annoyingly enough "upper canada" was south of lower canada
would you have preferred "taller canada"?
it's just annoying to remember in history class
the non social media history classes i got about this
canada and canada minor.
it's complicated! everything is complicated
fritoes aren't complicated! corn, corn oil, salt.
fritos are the perfect snack chip i think.
like vanilla ice cream, they're so simple and all-encompassing people overlook them.
"Upper Canada was the primary destination of Loyalist refugees and settlers from the United States after the American Revolution, who often were granted land to settle in Upper Canada. Already populated by Indigenous peoples, land for settlement in Upper Canada was made by treaties between the new British government and the Indigenous, exchanging land for one-time payments or annuities."
was there any part of the british empire not built on shady contracts?
then a couple of decades later the white house was set on fire because history is funnier than fiction
well, because the british government couldn't meaningfully retake their american colonies and had much more urgent problems, but wanted to communicate that really it was because we were too busy. standard empire nonsense
1812 being remembered by canadian nationalists has always been a little iffy for that reason
it was never really a canada vs america war. Canadians as a concept barely existed
it was british using canada as a staging point
here's a twist for you:
canada as a national concept still barely exists, haha
like, when the international perspective on canada, you know, polite, like hockey and beer, smug sense of superiority
i define it as "the non american part of north america"
that's a very specific kind of canadian, the majority of which live within a few hours of the american border in ontario
the rest of canada is very different, but you barely see that on the export culture
nah it's all pretty much like that
you have rural canadians, urban canadians and maritime canadians
and french canadians
they all dislike eachother in different degrees
if you live anywhere between british columbia and ontario, you're rural
there are like
okay bare minimum three off the top of my head groups of people who call themselves french canadians, lol
there's only one that has any statistical relevence
now you're just trusting a census not to lie.
nah the new brunswick francophonic enclave population is pretty significant, but three's also a massive divide within the primary quebecouis population between rural and urban, ethnicities etc
like metis alone
no i mean there's only one group of french canadians who actually comprise millions of people lol
the francophonic minority is pretty wide spread out. there were french language radio stations when i lived in iqaluit, we jokingly used to call the citywide booze bootleggers the french taxi mafia
of course french is only one of canada's official languages
there's a bunch of francophone enclaves in canada but all of them are more french than canadian
like literal french
from France
they're very montreal i'd say. also lol so french people do not like, conceptualize the quebecois that way, haha
explain to me, it's not like i've been living here for almost my whole life
in france or quebec?
Quebec
i would broadly say that most french conceptualizations of quebecois is a little bit provincial? i know the language policing was at one point considered extreme although i think french cultural standards have shifted there a little. very religious? the sort of broad anticlericalism of french soceity manifested differently i'd obvserve. but that's about as far as i'd go as an outsider who has visited both
they definitely do not see them as being more french than the french tho
it would take me 3 hours to explain the agnostic culture in depth lol. it's a very different and unrelated situation to French history. keep in mind after the english took over new france (the french colony) our history basically completely severed from France.
Quebecois is french canadian. I'm sorry to the other french speakers in the country but this province is the one with the distinct culture that has evolved for hundreds of years instead of a directly French one. You can see a similar culture in the cajun areas of the US but it was almost completely assimilated into american culture due to schools trying to exterminate it.
The agnostic state idea came about in the 60's due to how much control the catholic church had over the province before that. Maurice Duplessi for example, a notorious premier for his use of the church as a state tool, was a very authoritarian kind of guy that left a bad taste in the mouth of the population
in the 60's something happened where american cultural movements inspired the Quebec population to go against the church's involvement in the state. it was a big thing in the province's history that's called the quiet revolution, it lead to a near fanatical hatred of anything religious associated with the government
these days boomers are very anti religious when it comes to the government, which is a very unique thing in north america. young people are more lenient on the issue, which has recently caused some political divides
it has caused some issues recently. A law came into place banning any religious symbols on public workers, including bus drivers. This stops many religious people from working in these sectors due to religions that make wearing certain things mandatory
hint: most of these people aren't christians
dick gun
Ah god breaker, a titan that every mek would want to surpass
always found it funny that the Ordinatus Armageddon literally was just Big ship plasma gun on land
That's basically all the Ordinatuses no ?
usually they have "big gun" but also usually it's something you don't see mounted elsewhere
Oberon literally was just a ship's plasma cannon on land
well, it and the Ullanor, but the ullanor was a last chance effort and had to fight stuff much bigger than Godbreaker
meanwhile you get stuff like Golgotha that fires acid-virus nukes, malamuria with it's graviton weapon or hell, Gehenna that could level mountains and punch a hole to the magma layers of a planet
ill be honest i would prefer much more a Blacktone Fortress/Gallowdark situation, leaving the freedom of being able to throw literally anything from 40k in there and still be cool without having to depict your big ass warzone with 10 years of vfx work for a 5 seconds scene.
Yeah, I'd look forward to a blackstone fortress adaptation. Would keep it on a reasonable scale and gives them the option to include about anything from the 40k verse
A BSF adaptation would be very fun
the only faction not present there is like
nids and tau(sorta)
Imagine working a 9-5 job in commoragh
I know there’s a form of eldar torture where you force them to do mundane shit
But like ‘aw fuck I’m 5 minutes late to this stocks meeting. My boss is gonna have my skin’
If you park at a parking meter, do you just chain your slaves to it as fee?
Grocery shopping
Buy an apple, shove some slaves in the money hole while you complain about inflation
Putting together guns
if you like dark eldar technology you'd like the chaos dwarfs, they enslave demons into robots and have similar morals about slaves
just with less skin flaying but more dumping a shit ton of orks and goblins into an active workshop fire to summon fire demons
an eternal liveleak video
Oh yeah I checked them out, but that’s old world and old world is
They exist in AoS
The forge world semy
They got a whole rules book by forge world
Army*
Yeah
That's the main issue, forge world, I mean even before all their models went off sale thats forge world resin
and that stuff sucks
Yeah lol
but I think Drazoath is alive in AoS
He took out his rivals I think he deserved it
There needs to be more absolutely insane stormcast mechanized vehicles, just like get the grom from kislev but have it be pulled by griffons
Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs will be arriving in Total War: WARHAMMER 3 on April 13th!
#warhammer3 #forgeofchaosdwarfs #gaming
and its both styles of chorf too!
pirate
you weenie linguini
I am working on a priate themed soul blight army to 3d print
pirate total war 3 with all the dlc and also make your pirate soulblight army
I just need to buy the stls
pirateception on their asses
i mean, im still waiting to see models for Ikrit's creations, atleast those appeared once already lol
I want both, I mean the dark elves own a huge city in the realm of heavens now (Anvilgard)
So a stormcast vs dark elves just bringing fuck you siege weaponry would be cool
refined rat ogres
Anvilgard is in the fire realm
Aqshy
Azyr is the realm of heavens
Most of the cities are split between Aqshy and Ghyran, which is why she could do what she did
If she tried it in Sigmar's backyard, it'd be much harder to disguise
oops
Look I almost said hammerhall was taken by the dark elves
that would've been an insane feat to pull off
Not only are both hammerhal Aqshy and Ghyran massive, they're also the same city
In 2 realms
yeah like, Ikrit's made fantasy skitarii and dreadnoughts, hell, without counting him in particular clan Skrye alone has submarines and an entire air armada and if im not mistaken they also have a siege machine that saps the life out of the very ground
like, they should be closer looking to the Kharadron now more than their old world counterpart gw still sells
the skaven do that by default, and I think you can see those boats at the end of karak azgaraz
although thats boats not submarines
that's the point lol
they do go underwater (were destroyed) though
So ikrit is now like a cybernetic skaven, skaven iron rat
yeah the titanic was indeed a really good submarine after hitting that iceberg
we should see on his next appearance, now that ||he became a Skaven Stormcast||
ratcast
but ye, he basically became a mechanicum member to survive the literal apocalypse
I think being too angry to die is a good motivation for coming back in aos
I expect grimgor to return to AoS solely out of pure anger, and skarsnik because the writers forgot about him he'll just like phase into existence in some gloomspite cavern like he respawned
Gloomspite are just a faction of skarsniks tbf
It'll be like node graph out of date the world freezes for a second and he just phases in
skarnsik and the skarsniks, and kragnos
kragnos could be skarsniks new gobbla (unwillingly though)
looking back at Hamilcar's book funny how they briefly mention Settra becoming a stormcast
That guy is settrus
It’s not settra
Prolly
mannfred said if settrus was actually settra mannfred would have already been murdered in some horrible way
Lol
ah yes-yes, totally different, Settrus the leader of the Imperishables
Also true
Have you considered namea can be similar and referential
Also he was confirmed
In 'Hamilcar: Age of Enlightenment' Mannfred, the Mortarch of Night, fights Settrus, and is momentarily afraid of him, but quickly announces that this is a deception:
"You lie, thief. You are not the King whose name you bear! If you were he, I would be slain already."
To not be settra by the author lol
uh, didn't read that one
it was a short story
Maybe Sigmar is just the average 40k homebrewer and just messes around with names to make quick filler groups
Back on my Warframe/Warhammer 40k idea!
Garuda totally gets confused for a Unique Khornite Daemon.
None
they look cool
Sycthes suck as weapons
same reason of 80% of power weapons, none
technically speaking, any power weapon other than a bonking stick doesn't give advantages to just having a power bonker
^
The dark mechanicus will be skaven stand-in
except replace every time they say "rat" with "machine"
their god, the great horned rat machine (vashtorr)
I thought power weapons where super OP since they just ignore armor and can't be parried by anything so you can slice up a tank or chain blade.
sir this is a Wendy's
I mean they can
But you can also just use a power stick
Instead of a power sword
And they’ll perform about the same
Yeah but it's kinda like why swords are everywhere in melee combat but the best melee weapons though out all history are pointy sticks.
Ones cooler than the other
Power mauls are class
Got to look flashy in your 4 billion dollar power armor
This is why admech is based for liking polearms and blunt force trauma weapons
Anybody have a summary of Darktide lore? More specifically, the background of each of the personalities, why they were imprisoned, and so on?
you make that part yourself!
-they save it but they don't have any way for you to access it
Yeh. Was hoping for some kind of wiki or compendium that might've collated some of the quotes to get an idea. Appreciate it all the same.
you can just make and delete a few characters and screenwhot the options. woulda thought the wiki did that already.
well, it's deceptive because whatever you write doesn't actually influence like, the lines of dialouge that describe your specific personality. there is i think some influence based on your decisions but not a ton, most of it is just assigned to the voice
like the judge is a former cop, the agitator a huge racist, the fanatic fucking crazy, etc
And A Practicing Flagellant Too!
i think the fanatic burned down the hab block
the agitator is very sadomasochistic
both ways, actually. enjoys toruring themselves and other people
Oh Agitator Is Most Definitely A Sadomasochistic. Hearing Their. Say, Enjoyment In The Slaughter. Pretty Terrifying.
The Horus Heresy is the exact same as the Iliad
the Iliad, Odyssey, and Aeneid are the only 3 epics that survive of a 14 epic series, each epic divided into over a dozen books. At least 10 authors are believed to be involved in the creation of these books, and each one was considered increasingly worse than the one before it, hence why only 3 survived. It also has giant men punching each other.
gets genuine religious and i would say extremely sexually toned ecstasy at moments of intense battle, like proper sadistic glee mixed with rapture and mania. it's sweet
In 2,000 years there will be academic articles with titles like "reconstructing "Deliverance Lost" from the Birmingham Fragments" and "The Cultural Legacy of Prospero Burns". It will be universally agreed that the Horus Heresy series was certainly written by the British.
so wasnt a dragon involved in Sigmar's ascension to king of the gods in AoS?
somewhat
That one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkFjp2anJXU i assume that is part of why the stormcast ride drakes
Watch the latest trailer for Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, showcasing one of the real-time strategy game's factions, the Stormcast Eternals. The Stormcast Eternals are the God-King Sigmar’s chosen warriors, reforged from mortal souls in the land of Azyr, and sent to fight on behalf of the forces of Order. They're a formidable army who...
Think so, though not all Draconic creatures are alligned with it
makes sense
That game is gonna start with 4 race right ?
yeah
speaking of aos orruks are pretty much still genetically accurate to warhammer 40K orks Right?
i dont think they have revealed the other 2 yet tho
They are still fungus they still grow after winning fights
Order: Stormcast
Dest: Crule Boys
Death: Maybe Ossiarch
Chaos: ?
yes, think so
im expecting nurgle for chaos tbh
Hope not, though it would make sense with Ghur
its set in a swamp
Are the maps only gonna be on Ghur though
I want to see Aqshy, and maybe Chamon
wasn't there another strategy aos game that already has nurgle
its a rogue like and its dead
full on abandonware
but i hope the death faction in realms of ruin is ether nighthaunt or ossiarch
Not like anybody wanted/needed that game
Like AoS isn't bad, I like the potential of it.
But damn do I hate seeing warhammer getting 60% turn based game
realms of ruin will be an rts so that will be a refreshing break from the tbs norm
Yeah
The Summary is very surface because as others have said we dont know much about the game, Atoma Prime the planet itself has some lore on the lexicanum if you want to read it along with the Moebian 6th, but the general deal is that the regiment was recalled home (being the most elite fighting force of the sector) to deal with the local uprising of the Admonition Cult (the dregs you fight ingame) before launching a trojan horse attack and revealing they had switched sides and catching the entire planet by surprise, these were mostly made by rigged to blow trains judging from the trailers with chemical concoctions that turned a lot of the population of the lower hive into poxwalkers.
Now they are fully helping with the uprising alongside the cult and fighting globally around the planet, our missions are more spec ops related at hitting tactically important spots within the Hive while theres an active war going on in the other sides of the planet.
Most lore we got so far is that the Moebians and the Cult used the Water Cartel to take over most of the Underhive before betraying them alongside any other criminal organisation as well as that they had inside help from the Hive for the surprise invasion, very possibly by another noble house.
The general "lore" for the game gets revealed as we go even if its not too much, at the moment our job is to keep distrupting the Cult and the Moebians to give us an edge on the war, for now no help is coming due to the effects of the Great Rift on the Moebian Domain so we are completely alone.
I think Chaos will get Slaves of Darkness, simple as that
I think it's mostly the part that a lot of people who like warhammer mainly play the strategy oriented tabletop game
Hello, I have a question regarding the 10th edition. The Imperium is being pushed back everywhere, the galaxy is divided in two, the daemon Primarchs are spawning more frequently, and the Tyranid Leviathan is pushing back the Imperium, attacking from all sides. Is it possible that we will soon have a Siege of Terra 2, with the Tyranids attacking Holy Terra in the coming years? Or is it impossible? Because I believe the situation of the Imperium is almost worse than during the Horus Heresy.
Something attacking Terra yes, but Siege of Terra 2 would be the War of the Beast no ?
Oh yes, I didn't think about that.
We literally do not know
its entirely down to what GW wants to do
the Imperium can just score an entire victory out of nowhere due to plot armor
40k is a setting built upon excuses
@plush mason Do you think the Sons of Behemat would make a good race for that game
100% tho idk how well they would function in a swamp
If there will be a cover system forget hiding them
They are practically walking giant targets
Forget using cover against them too, they'll just crush it too
It makes me sad because it's the truth
alas
Fairpoint
a faction like the sons of behemat would be strange to play in an rts i feel
like if I said to people Primaris marines were coming before Gathering Storm everyone would call me crazy

but hey it happened
and the excuse we got was "uhhh they were under mars"
Personally, I don't think that Tyranids attacking Terra would make for that great a story.
Yeah you're basically pulling a dawn of war 2
Tyr a pretty boring tbh
You have access to multiple powerful units not much in numbers
yeah
you mean with the Titans ? Or was athere a faction that only had titan sized stuff
Knight ?
I mean most of the campaign you are using powerful heroes barely any units most of the time
no in dow2 you controlled a small force of highly elite blood ravens and not a full army
Also no idea how the shadow in the warp would interact with the astronomicon.
yeah in DoW3 you controll knight sized enemies
Not just blood Ravens but also practically every faction
so like, wraithknights, knights and the ork gargant
didnt play the multiplayer much
But not a whole faction composed of only that ?
Umm Aksually it was a morkanaut

Also did we even see any building or unit production in that AoS game yet ?
the knight hero chick was like the only good part of that game lol
im pretty sure we did
agreed lol
There's no base building
A lot of the things in that game is basically just visual flair
I know a guy, who knows a guy, and that's what they told me
All of the things look amazing
How do you get units ?
But it's all graphics no gameplay
To be honest all I can see is just a Total War AOS game
For Honour AoS would be accurate to lore and good
or a AoS Vermintide
hmm
which makes sense for the direction of a 3rd game
It looks like you have preplaced thingymabobs
WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK
I NEED BUILDINGS
Then use Destruction, Skaven didn't really get much things new in AoS
Why does everyone want total war, not everything has to be a boring ass total war game that CA will fuck up
Well that's much less interesting
I don't really want a VT3 tbh
I'm saying that's the only thing I can see I'm not saying that's what they should go for
The amount of Total War games is enough to probably slam myself into the concrete
A Souls like in AoS would make sense with a Stormcast
Oh yeah they reincarnate
Wouldn't mind a Bioware esque RPG
isnt there gona be a kind of TS style meta game in the campaign? where you use what you gain from each battle to improve your kit and warband?
Sons of Icarus, but you play as a Kharadron
Monster hunter but you play as race/classes from the Order factions
Skaven Assassin Creed game would be pretty good too
Some Skyrim/Witcher style AoS game would be nice. Just explore the setting and ally with some of the factions.
i guess i misremembered
Then it turns into fallout because you pick skaven
tho the gameplay video from the offical channel does show that the battles are a bit like dow2's multiplayer lol
a single base and various resource points between them

@storm jungle btw they killed it with the stormcast commander at 0:17
They made the oldcast look great
I still can't believe prosecutors look good
Though I guess it helps the devs are actually competent and relatively successful
yeah and her lines where great too, "death comes for everyone eventually, except us."
i might get this game if they add iron jawz
I assume they'll start dropping extra factions provided the game is successful
its starting with 4 and if it does well enough more factions are almost sure to be added later
well I'll wait and see how the game plays out
yeah
Can't be too cautious in modern day gaming
I mean look at blood bowl 3
I was really planning to get that one but damn they really brutalized it
watching the dev livestream rn
well the recap of it due to having been 14 hours ago lol
Did they give an ETA?
idk but they did show that a open beta weekend will be happening on the 7th of July
Nice, I hope we get info on the 3rd faction
seems just the 2 shown will be in this test which makes sense
Space Marine "fans" when your homebrew chapter isn't just a rebranded version of an existing one:
After watching the gameplay trailer kruleboyz won't be my cup of tea anytime soon they seem to be the more strategic side I mean makes sense but I just really want to send my infantry and watch them slaughter everything
they can make some of their units invisible
With an ability like that you would need to be very strategic
which ofc is a powerful thing to have in an rts about territorial control
And I lack strategy
Enemy go one way
You go other way
FLenk
shit youz right iz need to just big think
Wait wait wait... Laned maps... No true base building... No large scale armies...
... Why the fuck did that gameplay trailer look like a slower DoW3
do not insult it like that untill we get to see it in its finished state
AoS Moba? Sounds fun
frankly the map reminded me of a dow2 mulitplayer map
Dunno, but I'm not impressed by neither the animations or the gameplay for now
fair
It's being shown off primarily as a console title so expect a lot of simplicity
Oh that explains it
It's why everyone's dirt slow
Then it's definetly gonna fall in the DoW3 conundrum of not knowing what the fuck it wants to be
It might not
yeah its too early to say
Ye but Halo Wars was literally a classic rts with controller controls
so far it seems like the team has a clear direction for the game. a tactical rts so focused on squad based gameplay and not on just massive armies
speaking of aos is it just me or the maw Krusha is basically just a tigrex from monster hunter
It cabbage
It's basically a mixture of a tigrex and the fat dragon from the DnD movie
The DnD movie seems fun
It is
Simple, to the point, not overly ambitious and with actual thought put in it's scenes
wait, Hollywood can still make movies like that? shocking
"What's 2+2"
"I'm bad at math"
Dies
One thing I will always appreciate though now that I found out about it is that a maw Krusha can glide, the reason?
Gravity won't **** with them
It even managed to make marvel style quips work instead of looking fully out of place each time a joke is made
Tbf have you looked at those arms?
Yeah a punch from that even gravity will feel
The costume design was also nice and they used a lot of practical effects
It was generic mostly but the good kind, not the "Generic Netflix fantasy show" kind
Yeah, I have a friend who watched it and he complained that it wasn't like LotR and all that. But it make sense to be like it is
It more or less feels like watching some online DnD campaign with custom made cinematics for the session
Also this, close to no Cgi shit unless it was actually needed for something
Like, you could even point out the "dice rolls" moments

Between Male Fanatic And Male Agitator. This Was Amazing To Hear.
And it looks great for it
is that the early streamer gun skin
i wish i got that one
arent twitch skins purple?
Isn’t there lore around purple where the EC accidentally used so much purple dye before they even turned traitor that it became extremely rare
That’s why the modern EC paint their armor pink
Does anyone know if the emprah like chicken nuggets?
There’s probably one box left in all existence and he kept it in one of the vaults guarded by the Shadowkeepers underneath the Imperial Palace.
That explains why Horus started the heresy, his father won't share such precious treasure
canon
No he forbade chickens when the age of strife ended
Damn I like the badab war
Wait, the mantis warriors literally don’t have a chapter master
Because theirs is currently imprisoned for life
That’s actually really funny
And their librarians operate more as chapter masters
Chief*
my guy got charged with federal crimes fr fr
Frrrr, at his trail he said nothing until he was told to say his final words before imprisonment
And he said
‘I seek no mercy’

I didn’t know that he was stil their chapter master
I thought they picked a new one but nope
Gotta wait for their current on to die ig
Frfr
They had a really badass librarian lead them for a while
I think his name was the dust prophet
Can't wait for the next episode of tsons vs necrons. Its gonna go down like yugioh
During the badab war he noticed the astral claws he was with has removed all their imperial imagery, and upon some pyker shit he learned that the astral claws tricked the mantis warriors. So what he did was he ordered a bombardment on himself and teleported to the ship and told everyone what was going on
Oh yeah hsi staff is literally a staff from his home planet modified with eldar tech
Ngl chad.
But huron is evading the DMV and IRS so that's makes him based in my book
Very true
Also the mantis warriors lost 3 fucking chapter masters, and their chief librarian/basically chapter master on the whole badab was
Oh only 2
And their 2nd company captain
Who almost killed Huron
So they didn’t have. A good time
Is there anything to prevent a perpetual being stuck as a servitor
Ollanious pious out cogitating a landraider
i guess if they died they'd come back normal?
Unless you die no yeah
im surprised most people dont talk about this fate more often for a perpetual
You should never talk about perpetuals tbf
they're oddities for sure
i don't think you're supposed to think too much about their condition
(i'll bet 50$ that dante is a perpetual)
💀
Oh that'd be funny actually
They just always get to him so late that he's back up and running again
So they just assume he barely survived
Dante meanwhile eventually realizes and lets out a gut wrenching scream before decapitating the nearest ally
it's funny how they come back to life instead of just being immortal
it's like a literal plot device condition
is it ever theorized in universe why this happens?
No
some have lived way before the emperor sat on the golden throne so it's not like he brings them back to life
Well in theory if he ascends to warp godhood, time wouldn't matter
And the chaos gods already have a habit of resurrecting their goons
why would he keep some of the perpetuals alive though
Tbh we don’t even know if he’s gona ascend
Yeah I'm just saying IF
a primarch i understand but why that guy that suggested letting horus win to kill chaos
#all part of the plan
not a good plan since he didn't even succeed
Yet
see i'd call nonsense but the bringing back to life part begs for a divine intervention explanation
It's some sort of mutation afaik
Not all perpetuals are even consistant
the entire idea of resurrection is heavily involved with religion, especially christianity
It’s like an umbrella term
In 40k
Bcs they don’t all revive the same way
Some are just immortal but can die
Ect.
Some have a limited amount of revives
Some just straight up can’t die by normal means
It’s weird
Who thought of this crap
too many people
it reeks of too many cooks will spoil the broth
like throwing in every kind of seasoning into one pot of soup
are we at the point where humanity has spent more time in the imperium era than any previous era
Rhshfhf
golden age was like 15k years or something right
No
Imperium has only been around for 10k years
God i can't tell if it's discord dying or my data
yeah i've been having issues today too
discord be like that sometimes
i forgot imperium started in 30k
Yeap
but we're not that far off right
We're still a few thousand years off at minimum
crazy
sometimes i forget about how insane the time scales are in 40k
like 20k isn't 2000, it's 20000
That do be how nummers work
GW: looks at the year 40K "Shit this doin' numbers."
come to think of it, is it ever explained where the rogal dorn tank comes from
No
damn
did the tabletop even need it
from what i hear it's a super niche unit that gets outperformed by the russ
Hey
It looks cool
And if Warhammer tabletop knows how to do anything
It's making useless vehicles
it doesn't even look like it fits in the militarum
yeah it's stupidly huge and it has sponsons but it's straight up a pershing lookalike
Idk I like it
don't get me wrong i love having more militarum tanks
but i'd also like a bit more lore to new vehicles
they didn't make the dorn because they cared about lore, they made the dorn because they wanted a tank that was more in line with the rules meta they had planned. and in the true GW fashion, fucked that up
Yesnt
The dorn was going to suck ass bcs of how big it was regardless
9th edition was unkind to large models and the dorn is kind of huge lol
they didn't help it by overbalancing the cost.
russ beats its ass because the russ is dirt fuckin' cheap when the dorn comes out.
unless it was like the same cost as a Russ
also the Russ can be taken in 3's lol
and is easier to move around the board
The Dorn is only good at seal clubbing in 9e
It actually has a use case in 10e because vehicles don't instantly evaporate
GW doesn't understand how their own games are played, and it shows whenever they try to replace an old model with a "better" one.
Tbh
the dorn wasn't meant to replace shit
it was meant to go inbetween the baneblade and russ
it ended up being worse then either
Baneblade is the seal clubber supreme
it was meant to replace the russ in sales. it did not do this.
p.much. it was pretty clearly being pushed for that on release.
GW marketing plans, stupid? unpossible!
not a guard player's problem either, they all probably have like 6 russ tanks at that point anyways.
tbh I saw like
2 dorns irl lol
mostly for painting reasons
I never saw one actually be used bcs it was genuinely ass
Rate my budget battleship
inb4 they remove the russ saying it's been replaced
i would actually cry
such a classic looking 40k vehicle
im printing one, at least back home. that's the true glory of printing, being able to test out shitty units that arent worth buying and out of print models
also fanmade edits
everything about it is like that, the shield stands out because it's the only brightly colored part.
There's 0 chance they're gona cut the russ
yeah, not now.
I like the shield
That's kinda what cities of sigmar are, put high fantasy d&d stuff with Warhammer fantasy stuff
Not a bad thing, it's a goofy forge world model most likely
maybe like 30 years in the future
if the russ somehow doesn't get a new kit
they might consider cutting it lol
I LOVE that models o much
I respect it for being weird, feels like the empires version of something stupid like the lothern skycutters, something so impractical it's great to see them work
Its the color scheme that makes them feel like d&d models, they don't have the bright colors
It’s a sniper on a big scary moving thing
Especially for the metals
It s great
Can we get this in 40k especially darktide, for ogryn
Can't go through most doors, but can keep someone ontop
I wanna see a sniper on top of a walker
Honestly a sniper on a big moving scary thing sounds very eldar
They need to do AoS blood bowl
It'd make people like the storm cast more if they saw stormcast cheerleaders
A flood of "dommy mommy dearest" comments being an inevitability
Maybe a harlequin sniper that just climbs on enemies and jumps from shoulder to shoulder
And they wear a party city human mask to hide their identity
i can imagine for orruks if you need a tough wall breaker just go iron jawz, but if you want to be a lot more sneaky and strategic go Kruleboyz
Sons of behemat would be too op though, mancrusher army
Yeah I think, they will just have two players even then
Getting through two giants is going to be a work
Or one mega gargant, the meta
The newer stormcast they make are so cool, much better than 1st edition they have improved
for orruk cheerleaders just get warchanters
Idk it's easy to think of just the negatives with new things
Along with the female orks and their flail nipple tassels
Probably the only thing people remember about the blood bowl games
Video games*
Not the tabletop that's still popular
Holy hell that was horrific
tbh
if they make an AoS bloodbowl equivelent
I want it to be like soccer or something
Do you like the beastmen cheerleader
except 10x more violent
Get hit too hard as a storm cast it immediately gives you one of the rebirth curses like double voice (hearing two of the same voices)
I mean blood bowl is still football but ten times more violent
yeah
But that would disrespect the god of blood bowl
Nuffle
Nuffle pronounced En Ef L
Mulles (MLS)
GW expanded the lore but getting people to read it is difficult
NBA jam AoS edition
I mean shit there's still people who hate on both Leandros and Cato like they shot their dogs or something
I don't think it'll ever end even if the end times didn't happen and AoS was just a spinoff
People are just stupid
no shit lol
Also gona be honest literaly no new blood was intrested in WHF till total war warhammer
It's probably a complex social feeling that doesn't fit in this channel
Massive horde armies and also very expensive models yeah?
mostly massive battleline armies
tbh
A skaven army
would make any 40k army look cheap lol
I say fine cast just because it's so shit to work with especially since it was everywhere with fantasy and almost ruined the eldar (specifically with finecast hero models)
the true killr of fantasy was GW getting the LotR lisance, because everyone was getting armies for the new setting and GW was cutting back on releasing fantasy minis because of it and blaming fantasy for lower sales.
Curse you frodo
Does nurgle really like typhus more then mortarian or is typhus just salty
Mortarion doesn't like Nurgle
While Typhus love him
But Mortarion got more blessing in totals
But who does nurgle value more
Typhus
Mortarion is a daemon prince
so he's much more limited in entering real space
Typhus is still a mortal
But doesn't mortarion command the death guard
The majority of it yes
Think it's about 70% Mortarion and 30% Typhus or a thing like that
Typhus act more, but when Mortarion act it's more determinant, same way with Kharn/Angron, Arihman/Magnus and Lucius/Fulgrim
Yeah but typhus still has considerable forces
He has the terminus est under his command
And a fuck ton of mortals
Typhus is more reliable as well since
He can just hop out of the eye of terror and start killing
While Mortarion needs to be summoned
Lol
Typhus’s strategy is literally to drown people in plague zombies
And cultists
Based
While marines go after priority targets
Typhus owes everything to mortarion
But yeah the terminus est nowadays is filled to the brim
With an absurd amount of plague zombies
To launch at his enemies
Typhus caused the Death Guard to be Nurglite
So Nurgle owe a lot to Typhus
I don't get the feeling the death guard really care about nurgle
Typhus has a cooler helmet
His favorite plague zombie type is those who suffer from the plague of unbelief
Since he came up with it
Wasn't it Typhus that use Torpedo Launcher filled with Zombies or something ?
Also bcs those types of plague zombies can use a gun sometimes
Yep
He fills boarding torpedos with plague zombies
And launches them
The purge is used in the main csm codex at least
Curse of Unbelief
That's good
I mean the other one they used in vraks I forget it's name
Oh
It was the purge and then a larger one at vraks
Uhhh yeah I forgor them
Don't know why anyone would purposely fallow nurgle
Oh cool thanks
So do they really count
Typhus
Want Power, or want to not suffer
Since Mortarion and typhus
I really hate typhus
Reunified the death guard
Freedom from pain, saving others from death and suffering, originally noble goals like curing diseases and others
But you are covered in diseases

Yeah, but you don't care at that point
Well you want everyone to not feel pain and suffering from disease it just comes with added facial differences

Like why would you join Khorne when it only make you into a madman
I'm surprised there aren't anymore fantasy demon characters like the glottkin or especially festus
Neither are Daemon
But he is green
And with that goiter
Festus became a nurgle demon because originally as a doctor he tried so hard to cure a disease that killed an entire town that he broke down after the last patient died, and in that moment nurgle offered him knowledge to cure the affliction in exchange for his service to nurgle
Well Festus is at the cusp of being a Daemon Prince
I would fallow slaanish for reasons
The slaan god
Not a Daemon, not even a Daemon Prince during the ET
Who knows he might receive enough gifts to become the second prisoner in the emerald cave
But hear me out, green
He's shrek

But still no Daemon
Becoming a worshipper of slaanesh will not be as fun as you think
Kroak gang
YOU'Z GITZ AND YER CHAOS GROTZ
K I need to go to bed
GORK AND MORK IZ WHERE IT'Z AT
Isn't he in AoS now? There must be some elevation in power
Or just like a respawn
I don’t think he’s in AoS?
Good night and Death to the corpse worshipers
I think his model is
Nvm he is
It’s festus
The world's worst soup maker
Have nice dreams heretic
bro built like a ogre
Lexi has an error, it say he became a DP in the ET but I know it's not the case
Kruleboyz in 40k would be cool but they're so different from regular orks it wouldn't fit too well
And I'm going to be honest if they did come to 40K they would be blood axe
Yeah like savage orks but cooler
The other orks won't really like them
They'd fit for a gorkamorka revival
especially the goffz
There weren't really that many DP in fantasy, but there were a few that were basically DP but had not the name (Festus, Kugath calling him the closest to the GUO; Valkia the Gorequeen...)
He’s not labeled as a daemon prince in AoS either
Although given the name of human fans of the orks in gorkamorka I don't think it'll happen
Warhammer 40k Orks are perfect the way they are but i wouldn't mind Krule boyz
Krule boyz are cool
Digganobs
Diggas got mentioned sometime recently
I thought they were called diggers and just diggas by the orks, bruh
My mind was somewhere else
Thinking about that ssethtzeentach video on deep rock
sorry that's your word my digga
Thank you I didn't wanna go around calling them diggers unironically
Someone gave me DRG for free and I'm torn between driller or the gunner
Choose wisely The Walking guns platform or the war criminal
Well yes but I would take the lesser war criminal over the bigger one
I might do gunner, I like the guns and I wanna big beard (i haven't seen one with a beard tho
wait
Hi
Every dwarf can get the same beards
I'll get you my gunner wait
This isn't 40k related I just want something like that goofy ass gun from the 2003 star wars show
This is my gunner and as you can see he has a lot of beard
he Usually wears a helmet
Multilaser for the Ogryn would be the closest I suppose
This but just take the gun and put it in the hands of an Ogryn
Does this function similarly to the fallout laser minigun?
Yeh
Pretty much
Now imagine 4 of those
thanks I don't take off his helmet too much
Yw
Multilasers get a bad rap because they were used a lot in a shitty novel adaptation of dawn of war 1
Maybe, I hav'nt played Fallout
I would say it's just like a laser minigun
If you've seen Astartes, it's the Heavy weapon they use against the SM
I haven't watched astartes in a while
Just ignore the SM plot armour
It makes sense due to big meaty men bumping meat, I still wanna know what those psychic dudes were
27 seconds · Clipped by Heretical Cactus · Original video "Astartes Project by Syama Pedersen - Original Version - Full Edit - All Parts" by TheChach
Psykers
Yep definitely similar to the laser minigun from fallout
Good to know, they basically are Twin or 4 Linked Hellgun/Volleyguns
But they were like, more alien than regular psykers
How so
They were human shaped
A bit big
But nothing out of the Ordinary (Also Fan content, not everything is cannon, like the Autocannon and the Multilaser doing nothing)
Tbf it's literally the main weapon of Chimera's and Sentinels too
But le cs goto
Didn't like, a Carnifex or some other tyranid form have it at one point?
Can't remember if it was still part of the Dow books or the deathwatch duology
Well, just read up on everything goto fucked up and God damn
Is there a list ?
Yep
https://1d4chan.org/wiki/C.S._Goto
good old 1d4chan
Best one I think is the Eldar tank broken by kids throwing rocks in it's engine
You Think Loose Cannon's Going To Make Good Friends With Titus? Or Guilliman?
Guilliman sure
Titus not so much
big G only begrudgingly accepts the imperial cult because he knows how isnt the time to remove it
Would they even care about it ?
Like it's a no name Guardsman
Even worse, a Penal One
true
its funny tho, even should the imperium win it will end up being completely remade
Win what ?
If we're taking anything at face value that said penal Guardsman can get close to a plague ogryn and beast of nurgle without suddenly developing every type of aids
