tbh i wanna rip off the silk road / darkest dunegon antiquarian look
<3 worst character my belove
d
Antiquarian i love u
antiquarian my beloved
thats basically just an eclissicarchical missionary lol
also as long as you dont go full historyboo for a Chapter's look its completely fine imo
some people go ham and it looks incredibly goofy
i just want a reason to include fancy silks and jewelry really lol
lmao that much is fine
just have the initiates/scouts wear them
its called a nasal btw. because of the nose/eye guard
yeee viking helm
also uh
This is a good guide lookwise on what to avoid
LMAO
i think id also suggesting looking up Mandaloregamign's review of Chaptermaster
That game is a GREAT showcase of what running a Chapter is like
AJdhahaha
ok i actually kind of like that
yeah i think its just the shitty photoshop job
tha tis the worst color ever
black is best color
funny enough i think i may have heard about that one
dear imperium fans, please dont include the actual crusader cross in your design
now thats awful
they are literally cosplaying Greek statues lol
actually dont include any symbols that somehow realtes to irl genocide
which cross is that? there is like 100 crusader crosses
jerusalem cross
there where a lot of crusader orders
most IRL symbols 40k uses are also like thankfully not a lot
the iron cross and the crusader cross are the ones that come to my mind atm
What else...
Yeah the eagle is "legally distinct"
dont the BT use the Teutonic cross?
Yep the BT one is a straight up paste job
chaos but not nurgle definetly didn't age well
To be fair the colors are inverted
Yeee that too
funny enough the iron cross is based on the Teutonic cross
The chaos star is also public domain and not a warhammer thing
but thats like semi-general knowledge at this point
Uhh eldar, you sure?
Every single eldar icon is made up
I think you might mean the ork swastika

WHAT
MAGGIE DOESN'T KNOW.
LMAO
Some of the orks had... a bit of a german theme?
this is why stormboys are called stormboys
lmao
....
yeah i just saw it
Also this isnt me reaching because in the WH+ Ghaz episode they show this banner again and the swastika on it is removed lmao
thankfully its not been diamondized so it gets a pass
AAAA
OH YEAH
Someone told me they removed the lore that the desert raiders used a suicide bomb
I couldn’t find a source
But apparently it was agaisnt tau
you are a Turk? neat
Basically the tau are stabilizing a shitty imperial world
and the tallarn are resisting
because idk peace bad
OH UEAH
for the imperium it is yeah
But yeah i got no idea why orks had some fascist symbols and the stormboyz were literally just wearing german uniforms. Im guessing it was mostly to riff on the fact that oldhammer had lots of jokes regarding fascist movements and such since its 80's Britain
Uh let find it
that swastika on the banner isnt fascist btw
its ether Hindu or Christian
true
isn't it like chinese for sun or something? because not angled?
Mmmh i wonder
*sus
They were pre warhammer tho
maybe. an insane number of cultures and faiths use/used that symbol for different things
even the bloody celts had a swastika lol
the guy on the right is just a hobo
Oldhammer fans are kinda terrible lol
Like
Olddddd
Hammer
Is
Oh sorry historitor
oldhammer is just bad in general
Yeah
save ironically the oldhammer space marines lol
Like it was only good for the last edition or so
what purpose would a chapter need in order to wear trinkets and burbles
paid for in blood
no need for a purpose lol
maybe it's just tradition
or some weird thing of their recluiting planet
oh, then maybe something like a blood brother kind of deal
made*
or if you are going for the "you are under new managment" marines then it can work as a dealbreaker
like putting a sign with blood for a contract
whats another one sentence idea for a chapter
pick a random historical group and throw it toward whatever other word you have in mind
not always
tradition can also be born of superstition
especially when it comes to trinkets and the like
whats the theme?
ah right. hmm well the trinkets could be holy in nature. a symbol or their duty and faith
you can go the "full holy" build with all kinds of ecclesiarchy trinkets or go the "full metal" build with them making trinkets out of old tech and shit
the burbles could be something they earned during their trials to become a space marine
OO
what if htey have trinkets and shit
of like
xenos and old tech
but they dont know how to use it
so it
just became a thing
to wear
that works great
their home planet is an abandoned super old tech armory
that
they dont know how it works
quick tip, don't go overboard with having them fully dedicated just to their shtick
and THEYWERE MADE TO KEEP ANYONE ELSE FORM GETTING it
you could tie in the admech easy
"hey nice planet, your apart of the imperium"
"oh ok ig"
"hey whats that" points to black hole gun
"idk, i use it feed cattle"
okay chapters gimmick
uhh
find powerful relics and throw it in the vault to not care about it
blood ravens do that a lot sadly
brotherhood of steel in space
i already imagine the angry magos banging at the door of their vault
maybe they work with a sect of the admech and they take the relics to the vaults so these techpriests can study them away from unwanted attention
could also work with them clashing with the admech honestly
yup
okay jsut need a name
anyway stealing him to be my chapter master
Illegra Mordicant
i mean, for the name what are they a successor of?
Uhh idk
since the chapter was rushed to be made to protect the giant ancient dark age tech vault
like right after the planet was found
them being a successor of the Iron hands seems to be most fitting imo
maybe the home planet's culture was traveling merchant clans since the planet was like
ass
for basically most things
so the imperium grabbed the biggest trading clan after finding the vault
and slapped them into space marine surgery
they are honestly kinda huge dicks
hmm
okay this requires more thinking
how so?
all the tech stuff
afaik the iron hands are the most tech focused of the 1st founding chapters
well the way for this to work is that they dont know or care how it works
ok time to open the google doc
Tbh iron hands have terrible relationships with a ton of their sucessors
And not all of them do the weird augment thing either
Btw, considering the new tactical dreadnought this is technically a possibility
looks like the stormboyz got themselves some of the grot's killa kans.
Nice Iron Harvest conversions
Omg, I can make the tyrant space marines hella medieval
Like
Insanely European medieval
It’s a non codex complaint chapter that believes they should inherit the galaxy personally
Or
Better yet
Their home planet is destroyed and they are on a quest to find a new one
Even better
I dont understand one thing about darktides lore
Why hiring a reknowned w40k writer and promoting him when the story consists of not being trusted by the Mourningstar after grinding missions for the order?
Period
Where is the story?
And how much was he paid? Lol
Likely just helped making the setting itself and the few characters
Why bothering selecting char's lore for 4 different in game exclamations?
Something is off
I wonder if along the way they trashed one major aspect of the story
Or if its just bad
Im assuming with time we will be getting more "Story". It does feel lackluster now, although I didnt come into this game expecting anything decent.
I hope they add more
This game has amazing potential
I hope players will come back
Im hoping for genestealers
Yeah. Again, give it time and see whats up. By the one year anniversary of release, we should see what this games gonna hold
Rite Of Conquest 2: Electric Boogaloo
Lmao
Oh doing some homebrew? Nice, just finished my latest little character
I’m trying to make my own custom chapter
It’s so hard
I need a simple idea that I really like
And build
Its pretty difficult. Ive done it a few times, if you need any help
I do alot of homebrew writing myself
I just need a good like 3 word description to build off of
For my chapter
There’s nothing I loved yet :(
Idk if this is the right channel but I’m bored and want to look at random Warhammer wiki pages, is there still a “random article” button or similar?
there should be, although it might only be at the front page.
Remember, it's always Fall in Cadia.
Giant Robo-horses instead of bikes
the story is not released yet.
anyway dan abnett likely just did the setting, creating atoma prime, hive tertium, the moebian sixth, the history of the fringe wars (currently gleaned through item descriptions of cash shop weapon skins), characters like morrow, grendyl and rannick, shipmistress brahms, and worldbuilding like the water cartel, ennic baross, etc.
there's plenty of writing that went into the world of darktide, just nothing that really relates to the development of our characters yet, or the progress of grendyl's efforts to stop the cultist uprising and plague in tertium.
from what I've gathered from Catfish's comments, that story will be tied to seasonal content that they delayed in favour of fixing the game, probably told through dialogue and objectives in new maps and missions
Dialogue but also Vox cast and Lohner style writing too
Yooo space marine necrons time
Honestly minus Morrow and Misozi i hope the other characters shine through a bit more, because so far all of them minus those 2 kinda suck
The planet itself also genuinely needs more lore, its why i wish they kept lore notes as a collectible from VT1 or something for some extra reading material, we know nothing about Atoma aside from
- Has generic water cartel that every imperial world has at this point
- Ore strong
excuse me?
how dare you forget atoma's vibrant liturgical drama scene, renowned throughout the sector?
savant has a few lines like that which flesh out the place's culture a little bit more
also something about food
but I forget the details
Yeah basically lol
very accurate for tourists going to a new city
New lion book leaks, Vashtorr falls to this
Bunch of ||legends|| right there
now that i think about it.... how the fuck did the Emperor's shield get to mirror-caliban?
yeah but Fielty was probably already part of mirror-caliban, with the whole old king stories ecc...
also well, Fielty and the Lion swords being a parallel to king arthur's two swords ecc.
In all honesty it's probably somehow related to how Lion even controls the forest walk thing, maybe something to do with Emps influencing it or something similar
Games I require help
Giving Lion whatever he requires to an extent
yeah i very much think that Fealty is related to the old king
that is found on mirror caliban as the local bullshit entity
Could be
Need more guard kit ideas
go outside the cadian look
also... is that an inverted cross on the helmet or just some leftover lines/simplified sword lol?
or if you want the standard cadian guard look just mix and match with darktide cosmetics
after all when drawing you can add and remove details at will
It's lines vaguely in the shape of a sword since I'm too lazy to actually draw it
i like the cubic magazine
my friend wanted me to tell them about wh40k deep and detailed lore where could i find them without books they're banned here for no reason
40k books are banned where you live?
I always doubt people when they say they've been banned for no reason
yeah
when i go to see it it just say "this website is inaccessible"
which website
The novels aren’t that representative, or do you mean the rule books are banned?
Just get audible and a vpn if the books are banned where you live.
Is bunny posting from a prison because that's literally the only context I've heard of Warhammer being banned in
i don't think market penetration in some regions is very good
if it's a niche product it's more likely to get banned casually in eg china or something, maybe one of the theocratic countries
plus it never really sell anyways so they stop shipping
is wiki and youtube video an accurate source of lore?
you can't get them from amazon?
we dont use that here
for youtube, there's luetin who's done long videos that introduce the setting

what about wiki
if you want to use a wiki, don't use the fandom one
is this one good
which one then
no don't use that wiki
this one is better https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Main_Page
== The Community Created Warhammer 40,000 Encyclopedia ==
Lexicanum is a fan-made encyclopedia based on the successful online database Wikipedia and is about the fictional setting in which the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000 and other games produced by Games Workshop and its subsidiaries and license holders. Each of you has the possibility to t...
thank you
alright thanks now i can make powerpoint to remember what to say
thank you very much
Basically the wikipedia 99% of the time copy pastes lore from codexes and other books for their pages, there's little to no editing involved. Its good if you want the "cinematic" version of things told straight out of the books but as said above the lexicanum is purposefully written to be a "summary" and properly cited source wise and regularly updated with new lore.
some of the fandom wiki pages are literally the same paragraph copy pasted multiple times
Read the Astartes Whirlwind page for a good example of that lmao
it repeats the same shit like 3 times
also fandom is just a god forsaken website
It really is
i literally only use it if im like
"I dont have this imperial army book"
opens wikipedia to read the content of the book from it

Lol
Sometimes it's an unholy amalgamation of fanon, old fantasy lore, old 40k lore and new 40k lore
Like the Malice page
the thing that annoys me the most about the fandom wiki is that there's no list for imperial vehicles
there's just a massive page with tons of useless information that you have to comb through
Yeah its dramatized since its straight from the books/codex
DONT LISTEN TO HIM
dawn of war 1 is nice and all
but the size scaling is very off
dawn of war 2 has the best character scaling
even space marine 1 the game had like
just
short marines
your rhino is the size of a golf cart
like terminators are big
theyre just wearing platform boots
and have massive backpacks
but then most art is just
terminators are 1 inch taller than standard marines
"Fuck me up daddy" excuse me what the fuck

Least insane chaos cultists
Space marine clown car
it's funny how 40k is a setting with immense large scale battles but most games and tabletop only focus on small scale battle
does a human being actually own this
also Epic scale if they didn't completely butcher it up

has anybody ever calculated the cost of that image
too much
just going off the titans it's 1040 for the warhounds, 1465 for the warlord body, another 270 for the arm weapons and another 160 for the shoulder weapons
Euro's btw
so just the imperial titans cost around 3000 Euro's of stuff
the baneblades themselves are around 280 for both
thats not getting into the paints and the hot tub sized nuln oil pot you're going to need
yep, these are just the clean models
And this is why I'm not getting into warhammer tabletop until its cheaper
but then again, thats a ridiculous amount of minis
like a stupid amount of time's worth
i don't think it's ever going down in price
you can do like me and print units
I thought 10th edition was supposed to be more inexpensive, but maybe its just supposed to be more accessible
I dont have a printer
at least if you print them they're preassembled, I fucking hate putting minis together
i think the rule books are going less expensive, not the models
$100
I'm already spending like 600$ on two board game adaptations of games I love so idk how much cash I can spare lol
fr?
I was gonna guess like 300$ minimum
printing is a hobby by itself. i recommend it, it's pretty satisfying to see an idea come to life
I thought it had like 100+ minis, I'd have to look it back up
holy shit I was well off
a decent printer is like 150$ to 400$
hmm, maybe someday
its the new space marines vs tyranids set thats coming with 10e
likely cheaper to buy that and materials than premade sets lol, and you can likely recreate premade stuff
not to mention the printer is a one time purchase
filament isn't that expensive either
and the best part is you can make units that aren't sold anymore
I guess I'll probably just buy some minis to start, see if I even like the game, and then go from there
I assume I will because I'm a pretty similar flavor of nerd
im printing to see if i like the mini hobby lol
Also I'd need the new edition rulebooks anyways
and I'm pretty sure those come with leviathan
They're free now aren't they
arnt 10e rule books supposed to be free
Possibly
I didnt think they were coming out until around first or second week of june
Go killteam
I might be 100% wrong about most of this lol
my only issue is that because of the type of printer i have i can't make infantry models that look good
but im planning on buying a resin printer anyways
Free rules online physical versions to buy most probably
I was wrong it was 72 minis
and according to GW the leviathan set should be "less than the Horus Heresy box set and more than the last Warhammer 40,000 box set”
Yeah thats what it is, rules and lists will be on the new app, and the app is free
150 pounds in the uk but 250 dollars in america and roughly nearly everywhere else
thats the target price range
Damn
youre essentially paying like 1 third/1 half of the box and its contents for the most part
ever since the new CEO took over, a lot of the patrols/boxed sets are mostly just
losses for the company
but because they give you a lot, youre gonna get more
then theres the paints
which is where the razor thin profit margins starts to pile up for them
Me who doesnt paint my minis:
(I'm evil)
(and lazy)
also the box is cheap because chances are, its gonna have limited options per unit
like not a lot of flexibility
"cheap"
Thats true, I suppose I'll see
you dont have to spray undercoat to the models apparently
you can just
slowly add several thin layers of base coat to slowly paint it
obviously undercoating is better
i dont think it works with contrast tho
A lot of local players split the box.
My local 40k group has a lot of people looking for nid players to split it.
bold of you to assume they aren't upcharging the shit out of everything
it cost me less than 5$ in plastic to print a leman russ
in resin it would cost me around 8$
Why does the imperium of man let the tech priests worship deus mechanicus?
because the emperor had to make a deal with them:
-they keep their religion (but the omnissiah is the emperor)
-they provide the imperium with tech
Ooooh ok
I was confused because i learned that he was a chaos god while looking up the stuff in a box
Hes not a chaos god
Wiki said he was i think
Hes not
I also might be thinking of someone else
him being a chaos god is a fan theory
I see
I'm planning to split it
Big E debated taking out the Admech early on but it was more efficient to make a deal with them and let them keep their religion.
However, if he had succeeded in his plan we can’t say for sure what he would have done to them after.
i think it's pretty obvious that all the primarchs and all the astartes would have made short work of the mechanicum if they didn't agree to losing their religion after the crusades
yeah the paints
like
thats where the razor thin profit margins starts to pile up
bbecause there are people who use GW paints for not GW stuff
whether people liked it or not
some of the accessories that come with the painting stuff are good
people really love the paintin pot from gw
and the mini spray stick
the black library makes money too, like GW having translations for their books is massive
there is a ladder to being a 40k fan
Plus blood for the blood god technical can’t be beat
GW must also make a killing selling their IP to video games
like world of tanks and stuff
they must be investing a lot of money in the upcoming tv show too
i still don't get why they didn't just get amazon or netflix to make it
becayse they wants fans to watch it and like it
Thought Amazon was making it
they are
with Cavil being part of it
GW probably trusted Cavill enough to go through with the plans
That's not going to end badly
Not at all
As well as WOTC, probably what they paid the pinkertons with
People also forget that GW usually like bartering with companies that are kinda on their "level".
Compared to them Netflix and Amazon are absolute giants and they are just footnotes, they prefer having more say in what people can do with their IP
conversely, people also forget how much a Brand 40k is
games workshop has a significant retail presense in the UK, a bizarrely significant one honestly
that is nontrivially difficult. i bet there are more games workshop stores than say, idk, burger kings
maybe not mcdonalds
and they want the money to be good money
Well yeah because they are a UK company
their presence outside of that is limited
right but there are tons of UK or US game companies that do not have a retail presense, afaik. magic doesn't, or didn't last i noticed, dnd doesn't
yeah they tend to partner with flgs type operations instead
cheaper, like franchising
MTG and DnD are still bigger popularity wise is the thing
you ask a random nerd and they will know those two IPs more than anything with Warhammer
They're spread out way more
And you also don't really need to have 500 dollars worth of stuff to play them
^
oh i thought i heard differently
mmm, yes and no? maybe to dnd and magic as like, abstract games. but GW ip has much more recognizable and as such valuable assets, i bet there are a hell of a lot more people who know what space marines are compared to, say, slivers, or i dunno - anything else fantasy that is not generic
It really doesnt
if it's amazon that makes it.... no idea what to expect
i can ask anyone in my friend group and they know those IPs more than Warhammer by a large margin
It'll either be really good or hot garbage
its just not really a popular franchise in the eyes of most people
amazon is really good at spending billions to make terrible shows
especially if you arent interested in tabletop
DnD was in uhh
right they would know magic cards and dnd, and they would know the like, extremely broad strokes, what turns up in crossmedia which DND is kind of having a moment rn
in Britain, Warhammer will be more well known
they would know there are fighters and wizards
it doesn't take an IP to be well known for it to explode in popularity on a streaming platform
tbf magic is also massive here
like you'll go to a town in the middle of nowhere, and there's a greggs, tesco express, gambling shop and a games workshop
we have grand prix and shit all the time, the more competitive focused sort of awareness
yanno
i don't think there are competitive like, warhammer high level events outside of what are basically exhibitions? maybe i'm wrong
Meanwhile
I'm here with my nearest geedubs store being in a foreign capital two borders away

there is a games workshop less than five minutes walk from where i live
i passed it twice today
Warhammer is a bit difficult with that due to budget
For you it's like, 6 borders right?
also yes
and i don't like in a city
lmao
there's only a single GW store in the province i live in and it's tiny
At least I'm not far from Austria
But I don't plan on learning german to buy models neither
the closest comparison to GW in term of what's important to them is probably Nintendo: both have really hot properties, and are relatively smaller companies than the big boys so become very protective of their IP
nintendo is in no way small
smaller than entities like Sony
imo GW's licencing strategy for games has been very effective at spreading the IP to people who find tabletop and science fiction fantasy novels as uh, not appealing
Aren't nintendo also vehement assholes with their IP
Nintendo doesnt make things cheaper
i didn't know 40k till my arsehole until darktide
and other entertainment companies
Nintendo has been around for 100 years
thought it was that weird fash game with the tiny head guys
it costs a considerable amount of money to make your own proprietary consoles, games and store
Reality is also basically GW are footnotes compared to many companies
that starcraft ripped off, lol
unless its the mini market no boardroom person will know they exist lol
"They make uh toys right"
"Miniatures sir"
"Toys yes"

Shame blizzard killed every franchise to focus on overwatch.... which is probably dead in the water
wdym they have call of duty
Overwatch still has a big active playerbase
its just boring
lmao
Yeah but
No matter how many muscle mommies they add to it
More?
Idk
But I'm still waiting for the supposed "story mode" that we've seen
Nothing of
I can't even play it kek
"Sorry sir, you don't have the right phone plan"
and this Awesome Community™️
it sucks
Careful neckbeards will get mad
Yeah theres just nothing in the game
When was the last time they got a real update lol
people also say TF2 will never die but
its basically dead to me
lmao
its golden age of the mid 2000's is also long gone too

Imagine when the company which made your game is so rich and uncaring that they just leave your game on the door of an empty orphanage
i've been in many game communities and the most consistent thing i've seen is people who call a game dead no matter what its current state is
Remember Titanfall?
But then Inferior Titanfall got popular
But there's genuinely SO MUCH money in Titan and Pilot cosmetics and opportunity with the movement/gameplay systems
i dont like competitive games and battle royale games so triple A games are basically untouchable for me
I tried a couple of BR games and decided I hated the format
But nah they made boring hero battle royale instead
remember when battle royale was all the rage
can't wait for the battle royale fad to go away
Remember when the only real battle royale was minecraft hunger games?
it's been like what 8 years and battle royale is still being forced
WOW
hitting us all low with that nostalgia bobm

i've always said that lol
Then uhh
battle royale is really the isekai of videogames
"Hey guys, Yogscast here."
Was PUBG during the same period as H1Z1?
I think so?
i'd say hunger games is a better game mode than battle royale because it doesn't encourage camping
and the action starts right away
Like
Fortnite at least
Does random wacky bullshit to mix things up
And implements it well
So begrudgingly I cannot hate it
it gave us Master Chief flossing so i agree
hopefully 40k does a crossover
not even joking btw

Yeah no they'd honestly do it better than most of the moronic fanbase could
"HEy guys, 40k total war would be SO based! I've never played a total war btw"
It would be cringe but it would also very much boost the IP's popularity
battle royale is a horrible amalgamation of all the early 2010's fads
fortnite, apex and warzone are all going pretty strong last i checked. the problem with battle royale games is that the queues are fucking murder if you're not insanely popular
also, I'm sick of zombies; I just about tolerate poxwalkers, but I rather not see any zombies in media ever again
open world, survival mechanics, force competitiveness, so much more
and that chokes out competition very effectively, like big trees and little ones
i'm one of those people that will never get tired of zombies ever
Zombies are great
Poxwalkers even more so
they fit the Tide formula perfectly
👌
i don't care how generic your zombies are i'll still like them
I always preferred skeletons
Remember when Fortnite was supposed to be a PvE base building game
oof
even playing undead in bloodbowl, where zombies were better linemen on average, I'd use skeletons
i used to be a black ops zombies fanatic so yeah
Remember when Assassin's Creed was mediocre instead of horseshit?
nah brotherhood was great
remember, skeletons are needed for mind-boggling effects
Brotherhood was eh
fuck you, here's a leonardo davinci tank
Revelations was cooler because Istanbul
All the older ones suffer from bad combat
Constantibul
Or maybe not bad just easy
but you can leg sweep
Now
All the newer ones also have ass combat
So that doesn't really matter
This is why Unity was the best
Ye olde games workshop
Iirc the apex devs who were working on Titanfall 3 as well were super pissed when the plug got pulled
For obvious reasons
What would happen if festus makes the god poison
Does nurgle just win at that point?
nah. the chaos gods can't be "killed" like that, just....degraded? like they break apart and end up reforming because the concept of them still exists.
What god poison ?
wouldn't work in fantasy either, the gods cannot be poisoned like that so all it does is mess them up bad so they end up doing the "Resting" thing where their followers can't contact them and that's already more or less the case because taal said.
Poison that can work on gods
Festus is working on a potion that can “kill” the gods
Ok, but there are plently of different god
Like Mortals God aren't like the Chaos Gods, or even the Greater Chaos God
Anything can happen in Warhammer at the whim of the writers
so just go with "Yesn't."
The main chaos are his main target im pretty sure
Who knows maybe festus will prove nurgle’s supremacy by killing all the other gods
tzeentch has been killed twice already and it hasn't affected anything. their game can't end because they need the others to Admit who the winner is and all four of them are too egomaniacal to ever concede the loss.
every other faction has a better chances at winning than Chaos
Chaos is just Big Bad
Big Bad dont win
Ahah
End Time go brrr
Chaos only wins through basically massive plot armor
in fantasy their followers are literally fucking cavemen
lmao
it's not even plot armor, they're armored with marketing.
its plot armor
Hypothetically if every follower of a god was killed and much like the grey knights everyone who knew about them were killed would they just “pop” away?
Not really
its human emotion
they corrupt people gradually and slowly
you would need to kill every sentient being in the galaxy
dude, they've won battles where even the plot was bent over and said "can't help ya". because the executives insist they win to drive sales.
thats plot armor
lmao
Hey the fact that Chaos won due to thr Skaven is a thing but Chaos could have won with a much better narrative
Loose all their drawback foo
no, plot armor is when you can't lose because the narrative says you win. marketing armor is when they retcon the narrative to force a win. like they did in storm of chaos and then again in the early parts of end times.
Its still manipulating the narrative and letting someone win
its plot armor
same shit either way so

suddenly pulling a deus ex machina
yeah, bad writing.
is a plot armour
They're much more insidious than just a big bad guy you can stab to death
It's like
AOS is healthier for Fantasy Lore, I'll just say that
Trying to kill hunger
You joke but warpstone is literally that lol
i don't even comprehend what you're trying to say
AOS is a fun and good setting
Narratively it's a LOT healthier than both 40k and fantasy
and makes a shit ton of money
Lmao
Also yeah its much easier to access and play
nah but you dont understand Dilara
You can have big events happen, cities change hands, big people die
that's never been true, GW just likes to imply it.
i mean
Whereas in Fantasy
Ive bought AOS
so theyve got my money
I guess they imply it by uh
releasing awesome models for it constantly
I think every irl game should be cannon
You can't really kill Karl, or Louen, or Tyrion etc.
for like what the tabletop stuff?
Narrative Events are a thing
Yeah
LARP time
The narrative events that orcs always win for some reason?
isnt there like a Narrative event soon in Vegas?
Also whatever garbage chapter they talk about in the official GW podcast becomes canon
or something
Henry Cavill couldve literally named a Custodes he made
and somehow it wouldve been like yeah this is okay
aos is poorly written, so you can say anything happens in it because everything can be changed on a whim. fantasy we very throughly written so a narrative event needs to be handled carefully and they couldn't do that.
Names Custodes
"Bro it has to be a full name"
Pulls out multi hundred page book
Fantasy was well written
Thats literally every warhammer setting
"Where did the primaris come from?"
"Idk under mars lmao"
by warhammer standards, AoS is poorly written.
wtf
lmao
Now THAT'S a bold faced lie
AoS started out shit because it was a rushed job but its really fun and good now.
thats basically the only thing ill accept on it
You can't say the setting with Storm of Chaos and End Times is well written
That too
End times you can discount but you s till have Storm of Chaos
nobody who played fantasy considered end times part of the setting.
Which got retconned granted but like
and storm of chaos was fun, it was the retcon that was the problem.
chaos invading only to finally get coldcocked by greenskins is hilarious.
Wasn't it also a narrative event, and they changed the outcome because that's not what they wanted?
I was around when Fantasy was getting nuked, everyone bitched about how shitty the game was and hated it.
They were as much of the problem as GW was
lol
And when its gone they are like
"waaaa why did this happen"
like they loved it or something
the game was nightmarish
i was bitching abotu how shit 8th's rules were. nobody complained about the setting, it was GW's usual dogshit balance work.
Yeah wasn't the fantasy game a pain in the ass
Who cares
its still alive as a setting
And as a game soon
they are literally RPG books STILL being made for it
Since Old World
With new models!
Updated
i mean i've seen the first new model, i'm more looking forward to the releases if that holds up.
This but unironically
it's not even a generic knight, it's a shitty knight.
gets old world minis
I'm biased because
A) Fantasy knight
B) Paladin
C) Red and Black
it's not even french looking he's got splint mail on and mismatched gloves.
and a bathrobe for some reason.
I mean, it's not like early knights were particularly standardized
from the legs we can tell this isn't "early knights". this is someone screwing up.
we are all here for the peasants
nah, the helmet is the bretonnian aesthetic. the torso is like what you'd see on a D&D fighter.
I hope State troops will be similarly nice
Oh and Demigryphs
I can't wait for those
still trying to comprehend what that thing on the scabbard is, but you can clip it off fast enough
no way they're not rerelasing the gemidryphs they still have out.
I can wait 20 years for it
i don't know why they made the tomb king green, but i guess they didn't want to have to paint the wrappings wrapping-colored over leather because even 'eavy metal painters hate building up whites over blacks
aside from
Some rebelled and wanted to kill all humans
Some helped humanity
the only character we know is the one Ede mentioned with is UR-25
I swear I see a new shortening of my name in every server

Tho its important to remember this isnt his "true" form
its a chassis he hijacked
AKA Imperial Robots are real and valid and we should see more of them
also that
He's way more Courteous than the cultists
uprising marks the end of the age of technology right
Or zealots I guess
this, it was like they decided to sabotage the game (the 7th daemons book didn't help)
Yeah its basically
Age of Technology
Man of Iron Rebellion + Psykers popping up
Age of Strife
and age of strife is when someone fucks up the warp, eldar fuckin does or something?
Yep
Slaanesh's birth is also what blew away any remaining warpstorms in the galaxy, paving the way for the Emperor's jihad lol
Do we have any clue when Rogue Trader is releasing
The age is strife was in particular during the time when the Eldar pleasure cults had started
1987 iirc
Yeah the 80's was a rough time for humanity
I'll be sure to visit you at the nursery

Seriously though when fun game
google time
I got the release date for the original game

okay theres literal videos speculating the release
im guessing its just "coming soon"
which tbh good method
I'm going to get it day 1
I will wait on it a bit i think
not that i think it will be bad but more because i want it to get ironed out
Fall is Q3
Definetly gonna be pushed to Q4 or 2024 Q1
Real question is when is space marine 2 gonna release? Last I saw was sometime in 2023. Guessing Q4 is most likely. Wonder if it’ll get pushed to 24 too
I think it will release around the official release of 10th edition
Both having Um Vs Nids in post primaris times would help them boost each other massively
Especially considering how they scrapped the old leaked storyline entirely
In favor of the new nid one
Sad. But if it means it gets a better launch than Darktide, I’ll take it
Space marine 2
Before it got shelved till getting back last year the storyline for the sequels was leaked
Basically in the old story they planned after the first game Titus goes renegade for the second game and in the third one he would rally other marines and form a new chapter
Glad they scrapped that.
gw writers hiding the risen that follow the same story beats minus the new chapter idea
Doesnt make much sense for a um to go renegade then make a new chapter. Like the imperium would mark titus traitorous
Wouldn't be the first one to do so lol
Also renegade is not traitor
he gets censured, then comes back to become better
Two different things
The Interview said he basically has people plotting against him and pushing him to his limits till he gets exiled from the Um, then in the third you would be supposed to get back lion style, take the guys still loyal to you and go clean house of the guys that got you exiled in 2 while making your chapter
Source: I have the interview open right now
Were you supposed to be able to punch that smug prick Leandros in the face?
I mean, probably
Considering two was supposed to be the most "brutal" of the three I would imagine Titus killing Leandros after going over the edge to be the thing that gets him exiled
can i see the link for the interview
Wait ill bring you more than one
This one is with the game director: https://news.softpedia.com/news/Canceled-Warhammer-Space-Marine-2-and-3-Get-Detailed-by-Game-Director-393106.shtml
https://www.escapistmagazine.com/space-marine-director-talks-plot-for-would-be-sequels/
This one as it's a more known source in case you doubted the first website
Image Source: Steam Disgraced main character would have “gone rogue” in the follow-up before rallying soldiers to his cause in game three. The former director of 2011’s Space Marine revealed he had a three game story arc planned out for the series. Space Marine, based on the Warhammer 40,000 setting, cast players as Titus, one of the titular cha...
I mean, the director keeps referencing the scrapped story as "Titus Unleashed" so I get why the story would be mid at best
dodged a bullet on that story
zero gameplay footage
even at the SKULLS event they showed nothing
just bland interviews
Yeah, the only footage visible is that one scene with the guards and him fighting nids isn't it?
i just want exterminatus mode
Ah yes, the "walking and staring at the diorama we built" bit
Darktide was delayed like 2-3 times and still came out like its current condition, don't hold our hopes up lmao
