its blizzard
I can't afford D2
Good.
It’s why I quit destiny 2. I got tired of the grind and they sunsetting my favorite weapons.
It's like paying a subscription for stabbing myself
I don't get much out of it and it arguably hurts me more
thankfully you only need to buy the most recent expac as the rest will just be vaulted at some point lol
Because the expac has 5 minutes of content and then everything's locked behind seasons
I remember returning to destiny like last year
and then uh
realised they removed the Red War
I bought Beyond Light since I thought it was cool
but it has a lot of dumb shit they keep doing
pretty much
But they gutted the base game and I couldn't play anything because the latest content is paywalled behind the season pass
tho i was surprised at how much fucking lore it has
they made some strange new version of 1's starting zone lol
so its literally just the same stuff but longer
Worst RPG tbch
Shitty, empty maps
Shitty, empty story
Decent factions
But they also took most of the factions, stabbed a knife into the artery in their leg, and threw them off a balcony
Im gonna miss it
Launch day Destiny 2 was something else
fr fr
I play solar hunter and ill i do is let my handcannom sing. But its so absent minded im not sure if i even enjoy it xD
Im a Titan main so
Based
Want me to bring you some crayons
I like big hammer
Also remember the good trailer

Apparently made into a canon thing that happened
Or so I read
But yeah screw destiny lmao
Lmao
The only story thing I liked at all recently
destiny is literally the most fun game that I hated with all my passion
Is Saladin becoming "Valor Forge"
My exact position on ark
That's either Mordhau or Foxhole for me
Disgusting games both with worse players
i was a void titan last i played lol
same here
Mordhau is the only game ive watched a lobby completely fall apart until almost everybody is swearing in game chat with racial slurs
Did you perchance play on EU
Granted, EU doesn't usually devolve into swearing because most of them don't speak English
I played on NA last night and it was some new breed of Cancer
Like I thought EU was bad
Mordhau is a pvp game with a small player base. so its naturally highly toxic
most of them will leave
Im one of the new player
Naturally, all the high levels got on specifically to pub stomp
And kill the game again
yup
Then complain about the game being dead
The most fun part of the new Destiny update was probably the raid boss Rhulk i think
aka "Lets fight what is basically a C'tan as 4 tiny ants"
Wasn't that already an expansion ago
goat kick
It was the Savathussy expansion
Now you're in uhh
i forgot its name
Lightfall
Yeee
Which is the Thor: Ragnarok of Destiny expacs
he was the best part of the update tbh
Complete with bad humour!
AAAA
well. now im even more glad i dont own it lol
Can i say how much i hate the vender dude
hell i think the only part of lightfall i have seen any praise for is the thread thing that is more or less just a grappling hook lol
I can't find the full meme but it's in response to Caiatl saying her father died
also i found this video in my files idk where else to post it so uhhh
Something-something most sane Imperial citizen
that cant be an real in game line
Don't think it is
But they say dumb stuff like that afaik
Also their voice has gone through like
15 separate auto tune programs
pain
Whoever did the filters for homies voice just saw all the buttons and pressed them all
Anyone want to give me some art ideas
the lion dropkicking erebus :P
Basically my approach to solving problems that barely inconvenience me
Something less dynamic?
Will have to wait because I don't have the heart to move the cat off me rn, he's very cozy
a squad of IG praying before or after battle
I'll just draw up a bunch of guard regiments for starters
nice
Daemonhost cat
That's more Empire Knight vibes with the wings
Miss the angry face helms
Like it looked so fucking good back then
But now it looks like kinda doodoo
there was a certain intensity of the old artwork
(Model wise its fine and on par with the boring mk10 stuff)
and look at the colours around the cave and the buildings in the background
YEA thats the word
Intensity
Such a shame we slowly went away from traditional painting for a lot of things
Not to say some contemporary stuff sucks
The artists who did the space marine battle book covers are my fave
Those works had like weight
Really makes it clear space marines are typically in the worst shit
Siege of Castellax, Death of Integrity, and Gildar Rift were fantastic
Jack Memeqo my beloved
Im about to spit some blastophmy. What if gw is setting up for the reformation of imperium secundus. We have both the lion and guilliman now, all we need is sangy. Many people think well never see the angel rebirthed, but its clear his soul exists still shattered as it may be. Of course if this is the future that comes to be, im afraid the emperor will die, just as his son gave his life, the emperor will give his. A final act of defiance against the gods as he ascends to become one.
(Yes i know i sound crazy and yes i know itll never happen but sometimes you just gotta type out your theories)
The more I look at very old 40k art the more it looks like ai art today
I mean, ultramar now is basically another imperium secundus
i cant help seeing the threads. Sanguinus told dante he cant die, so maybe dante will become the angel reborn. If sanginus fortold his own death, whats stopping him from planning after that, setting his own plans in motion to return to life long after.
Of course if the emperor dies its likely humanity will crumble more but with the trio of primachs, humanity might not be doomed.
The Imperium currently is basically 3 big autonomoous regions
Sanctus, Nihilus and Ultramar
Ultramar I include mostly because it's big
There kinda in age of strife 2.0
Middle, Under, Upper Hive be like
Lol
His soul is stuck on the Vengeful Spirit tho. Goood luck getting that back.
First ive heard of that
There is a statue of him that keeps appearing on the Vengeful spirit. His soul, or at least part of it is forever trapped on the vengeful spirit. Horus's soul was completley destroyed hence why his clone was so shit at actually fighting and why statues of the warmaster don't appear across the ship.
Some of his soul clearly exists outside of the vengeful spirit as the sanginoir and mephiston exist
Also the ship is named the vengeful spirit of course its haunted
Gman is actively ashamed of it to this day and still feels bad.
The custodes shame him for it regularly as well.
i mean gman thought the emperor was already dead, it was the best plan for the information he had at the time.
but yes if he didnt waste that time there father might not have been a vegetable
It’s irrelevant. He’s ashamed of it and never wants to allow anything like that to happen again.
so if the emperor dies hell just give up on humanity?
If there’s something still to save? Gman will protect what little pocket remains, it’s just who he is
if terra were to fall i think ultramar would hold, at least for a while
Yeah, it’s quite well organised and I imagine somewhat self sufficient
How long it holds depends on whether Guilliman is there to govern
i think gman has set a contingency in case he does die, the tetrarchs.
you could argue that is what he is doing rn
Very true
I have no idea if this comic is official or not, but its vcool. Inquisitor in Termie armor.
they can and do have power armor
never seen full termi armor before but its not impossible afaik
what comic is this
IDK
If Terra falls it’s over for humanity essentially.
Apparently its Inquisitor Sabbathiel in a 4 part comic from Titan Comics.
Inferno and Fallen are two of the titles
I like it we need more visual content for 40k
Oh yeah She has a suit of terminator armor that she pilots like a mech suit.
There’s a novel about her that’s out and she hasn’t given up on her plan.
She wants to purge the Astartes. As in all of them.
Every single one.
My gurl just casually carrying two thunder hammers.
so shes a heretic not a loyalist?
No she’s devoutly devoted to the emperor and imperium.
She thinks the Astartes are all secretly traitors and heretics.
A moment
Oh wait someone already answered
Yeah it's Sabbathiel, not to be confused with the one Slaaneshi sister everyone always brings up
Mirathiel Sabbathiel, yeah. The Heretic Sororitas.
Not quite. She did get shot in the stomach by a grey knight for summoning a daemon host.
based
She got better though.
Anyone want to see a
Marine scheme
Though I think its just the Dark angels she's got an issue with, she encountered the Fallen and found a Dark Angels suit of armor being worshipped by a chaos cult.
so in other worlds she meet the dark angels and now thinks all marines are like that kek
Unless I missed something.
i was joking btw. unless said joke turns out to be true lol
so is it a full sized suit?
Yes.
No it’s not.
In her novel Awakenings she outright says she wants to get rid of the space marines.
All of them.
Ah
The Custodes would like her
based
It’s very unambiguous what she wants.
Afaik there has been one other Relic Hunter Inquisitor in Termie armor. So its possible, just super rare.
Power Armor is a bit more common for the Ordos.
yeah i imagine one needs an insane amount of pull with the admech to get a suit of termi armor made for a normal human
Her armor is destroyed in the novel
rip
I think its fundamentally the same, just probably like, with extra internals to let a human interface with the armor.
Termie armour was adapted for marine use
Wouldn't be shocking if the Admech had some older schematics that inquisitors could requisition provided sufficient pull
yeah
its why I kind of don't agree with the claims that termie armor would require a weird body shape to operate. Its much easier if you suspend your disbelief that their hands and feet don't reach all the way to the hands and feet of the armor.
After all, it wouldn't be much of a walking tank if you had a small ammount of armor around your fingers, first big explosion you otherwise shrug off would just mangle your hands.
So I figure the extremeties are slightly fly-by-wire
yeah itll suck, doesnt mean its totally over for humanity
What would happen if terra falls
I know that likely means the emperor is gone because of the golden throne explosion killing perpetuals
Can we also talk about how weird of a failsafe that is
shrug
Chair stops working. Destroy earth
Like the Emperor would physically die. But other than that, who knows.
Would warp travel even be possible anymore
Doesnt the emperor act as beacons or something
Again who knows. Trillions upon trillions of lives would be lost but again it is up in the air on this one. Emperor would likely be reborn in some manner.
It would be but it would suck ass
And there are alternative ways to make a beacon
They’re just worse
Hopefully as a spider so we can call the webway a spider web
but GW wont just say goodbye to the Imperium. It is basically saying "Lets destroy more than half the playable factions in the game."
If anything they’re gona have 99% of imperium nihlus get eaten up
It’s already got huge chunks under chaos control
even that I am not sure about that
Tbh
Heres a more interesting question. Where would the story go if the emperor came back but stronger because all the sacrifises
He already is “back”
I doubt hed make more primarchs since that blew up spectacularly in his face
something equally bullshit would happen but on the other side
Does 40k have an everchosen or is that just a fantasy thing
Abbadon
Unofficial everchosen?
but I don't think there is a prophesized everchosen
But chaos is way more self destructive in 40k lol
where is the meme
He just has blessings from all 4 of the gods
Yeah Abaddon is just the No.1 Champion
^
Archaon was literally chosen
Memes aside Abbadon is decently successful
like no joke from his birth his destiny was to destroy the world
also yeah Abby is good
Maybe we could do that. Emprah comes back. Goes goes "oh shit" and places all bets on abbadon
Of the 13 black crusades, 11 of them achieved their goal
Chaos goes*
Abaddon also didnt even want to do much after the Siege
it was everyone else telling him to take charge
lmao
I think someone will kill the Emperor in his current form. Trillions of psykers will die and the Emperor becomes a God like force almost equal to the 4 chaos gods individually. I suspect he will heal the tear in reality by closing the eye of terror. This wont eliminate Chaos incursions but will make it more difficult. This is based on the Emperors words through Gulliman. Returning balance to the physical and immaterium.
Tbf he became a space marine hobo
And started making moon shine
Out of daemon juice
And plasma
literally
Doesnt abbadon also just see chaos as a means to an end and not the goal?
tbh
Yeah
He’s under the chaos gods sway
Absolutely
It’s the main reason why he isn’t a daemon prince
He’s been offered ascension
^
I cant stand Abbadon. Horrible villain.
Slaves to darkness is a real good name with an unfortunate shortening
did you learn all his achievement through memes
if so yeah not the best route

Why would trillions of psykers die?
Psychic feedback
this
die randomly
have to think of how many are connected to the Emperor through the warp just for travel alone
If they suddenly go boom
The Emperor is gonna release another psyker nerf
Lol

Im telling you guys
Big E couldnt kill horus right away because of those patchnotes
Would the eldar be like "not this shit again"
I first feel like though the Imperium will divide.
Im curious about that too
The Primarchs will divide the Imperium
the Imperium's eventual fate is to basically splinter
because its main problem has always been a lack of central control
question is
I heard the imperium has different ideas than the emperor himself
will if ever happen in the story
They’d prolly be half laughing half screaming depending on the faction
becuase gw
Basically yes
but like
at least in 10 IRL years or so
give or take
lmao
because they will slowly bring every primarch back
because money
But I think Chaos will struggle as well and that is why I feel like the Emperor will become almost God like and with his absence there will be a vaccuum politically
A bigger succ than slaanesh
Vashtorr ironically got a half W
At the end of arks of omen
He didn’t get the final piece to ascend to godhood
Vashtorr > runaway Abbadon
But he’s prolly one of the strongest minor chaos gods now
Abbadon? More like Abandon
where is my 40k hashut
Like prolly on par with the funny raptor god
I get butt hurt, throw irreplaceable space relic into planet
We have vashtor
its not a butthurt
We have the raptor god
he did literally the smartest thing
the eye of terror was shrinking
and the fortress was useless
lmao
Also wow
It’s literally just the raptor god and vashtor
mentioning the raptor god
I guess Malal
that mfer is older than most of this server
THEY GOT MENTIONED IN ARKS
a bunch of the more blessed CSM started to freak the fuck out as well right
Yeah
EYY
Or just drop dead lol
when the eye started to close
I would really want to see Ynnari have better success
He "abbadon'd" all reason
Abbadon made the best of a bad situation
They’re getting their entire series rewritten
Thank fuck
The ending with the sword is in slaanesh’s palace
Was dumb
yeah
He just shouldn’t write for eldar
it was really just an "Oh well, cant win now"
There’s better eldar writers
So fan wise how would people react to the emperor making a full return?
yes
Prolly think it’s stupid

also all the imperial fans would hype
The emperor coming back ruins the setting imo
because they are as easy to impress as kidnergardeners
The imperium is supposed to be in constant decline
The emperor would be the opposite of that
And make no sense
And before you mention the primarchs coming back
If they make him have a full physical return, I will be disappointed. But if he comes back in a more like God like form, Im okay with this.
My smooth brain has no room for heresy
The imperium is still in decline
Also yeah like
people have this perception
that Guilliman is fixing the imperium
hes not
lmao
No crevasses for it to hide
It doesn’t matter Bobby G and Johnson are coming back
They can’t do shit
Long term
They can try their best
yeah the Imperium is basically far gone
But the imperium is still falling down
the most likely scenario is the Imperium splintering
and it becoming basically just THE holy roman empire
with warlord states/planets
Whags guliman doing then
trying his best
Whats*
Trying his best
LMAO
Jinx
jinx
Honestly
The Imperium is just too vast for them to handle. That is why I feel like the Imperium will divide
Yeah the Imperium's fate is to be splintered basically. Its way too segregated.
Didnt they already set that up with the destruction of cadia causing that rift?
Gullieman just put a bandaid on a seeping wound
Yep
they physically splintered it with Cadia
The fall of Cadia has just accelerated it
Yeah
Said wound is also heavily infected
He needs to lick it
You can see him struggling trying to keep things together on his own though
why I love how he is written
He is not just a bland character
is a hello kitty bandaid
GORILLA GLUE WILL SAVE THE IMPERIUM
Lol
I love how the imperium stabs itself in the leg constantly
And now the nids are coming

Emperor will become a god > Imperium splinters without his physical presence > Chaos is weaken by the Emperors new power > Imperium is weaken by its new divisions (brother vs brother) Old ideology vs new.
if the emperor ever 'returns' he should immediately ascend into humanity's chaos god, like slaanesh was for the eldar, and make everything worse in the long run just like he ruined the galaxy in life
anyway i gotta go for like, 10-15 minutes i'll enjoy the 100 messages i'll come back to
I dont think things will be worse, I feel like he wont really improve humanities situation apart from trying to maintain balance between the immaterium and real space while still being a beacon in the warp.
I would say the 10th edition trailer does a good job of showing the state of the imperium. on the outside it looks like its making a comeback despite the galaxy being ripped in two. but it reality its just putting out fires that keep popping up and is struggling to keep it together, and despite all their efforts its still getting pushed back
Yeah i do appreciate how guilliman literally goes
"ITS ALL FUCKED, SOMEONE HELP AAAA"
victory
meanwhile the fanbase:
"No guys Guilliman is fixing the Imperium! Everyone is gonna be happy!"

Guilliman is slowing down the inevitable and is doing a good job of it considering what he is up against but again he's only slowing it down
Anyways I can’t wait for another admech forgeworld to get blown up in a campaign supplement

Admech and Sisters of battle are GW’s punching bag to show the imperium can lose
Just like how Eldar and Nids are GW’s punching bag
I'm just waiting to see how long before hivefleet leviathan gets defeated by random nonsense again
Just in general
you forgot the imperial guard
Judging by how they handled the necrons in 9th edition expect a good/start, by the end of the edition tho the 4th tyrannic war will basically go nowhere
fair
then you will be footnotes in white dwarf articles
honestly that would be an improvement for tyranid lore
İ agree tbh
it just sucks
lmao
literally anyone that isnt chaos gets thrown under the bus constantly lore wise
I get why they use chaos the most as villains since they are the Decepticons of the setting
but come on man
still mad the 9th edition codex for tyranids had so little lore. their codex is the only place you really get any lore for them
9e codex’s 💀
Like
they blamed covid for the most part
but even AFTER that it was just recycled upon recycled lore from the previous codexes
its so fucking lazy
yeah
on another note I do find it funny how the few time tyranids win in their codex its often against chaos
Tyranids' shitty part is they always win off screen
"Oh my god the nids killed"
checks notes
"Libeterminators Successor Chapter"
Lol
well there was that time the tyranids wiped out a iron warriors fortress because the iron warriors definition of enough ammo to last a decade was used up in a week against the hive fleet
literally trolled
Average tyranid W
and hivepilled
Should have packed more ammo
same thing happend to the imperial fist except the fist actually had enough ammo
i dont think there's any reason to assume the imperium would walk away even in a neutral position. when slaanesh was born it had claim over all the eldar souls because they birthed it. if the emperor was to ascend then the resulting chaos god would have domain over all human souls because they birthed it. and if the emperor ascended humanity's chaos god would be god of fear, hatred, and ignorance.
the only thing i dont think would happen is the immediate slurp of human souls, bec ause humans are weaker in the warp than eldar. i bet humans would, isntead, just go to the new chaos god after death
of course
they did

AAA-
See I have my doubts about a god of fear, hatred, and ignorance. Im not saying him becoming a God will be a harmless transition either. Right now the Emperor is mentally splintered. I think it will take time for him to collect himself mentally and he will be the Emperor of old. Disappointed in humanity but not willing to abandon them.
To me the Emperor is a symbol of hope to the people of the Imperium. A protector, father like figure.
Is a shield + weapon combo a possible future addition for non-ogryn classes?
I don't know if that exists in 40k
in death you serve the Emperor still
Crusaders
although I think they were sort of written out of most 9th edition codexes
In the lion book it’s stated that if the emperor’s physical body dies it’s going to unleash something absurdly powerful in the warp.
I think we're also forgetting that warp gods aren't necessarily chaos and aren't necessarily bad for their species
Just look at the Eldar gods
yep. there was also an incident for the night lords that were torturing astropaths to lure imperial ships to their doom, only to attract hive fleet kronos which proceeded to force them into a retreat and losing their base
Like it'd be bad if Emps became a god, but I doubt he'd just eat every human soul slaanesh style
Especially unlike Slannesh, the Emperor has been consuming souls for over 10,000 years
there is another type of shield that ogryns use that have a refactor field built into them. wait you said non-ogryn... aren't there boarding shields the imperium has access to?
Hmm, reading on crusaders it seems they use a storm shield, which from what I gathered is sized for space marines
yeah the eldar gods were symbols of hope for the aeldari. that didn't stop the eldar from being vored.
the imperium is a giant empire that worships fear, hate, and ignorance. those are the three primary things that the imperium engages in. every single imperial citizen, from the lowliest servitor to the highest cutsodian, engage in at least one of these three things constantly. and they are negative things, they are taken to the extreme and they are constant. just like the aeldari empire and its worship of excess and hedonism.
the imperium is no different. it's a giant empire that worships a few specific, negative emotions. the warp entity it births will not be pleasant, it will be cruel and hostile, just as the imperium has been cruel and hostile for ten thousand years.
In the lion book, they say he will ascend to the true god of humanity when his physical body dies but the source isn’t exactly reliable.
But I’m inclined to believe it.
Okay so I do love this discussion. But I dont want to really continue down this road because it will eventually lead to an analysis of Catholicism/Christianity and how the actions and views differ from their deity. It becomes a very touchy subject that I rather not go down to and ruffle peoples feathers. Hopefully you understand.
Yeah I think they're going to actually do something with the emperor pretty soon, although "pretty soon" in GW terms could easily be 10 years
alright
I have a feeling that they will bring back a few more primarchs and Fulgrim before doing anything with the Emperor
thanks for understanding
Fulgrim is next. That much is true.
yeah agreed
After him idk.
be interesting to see Dorn return. The golden son
They brought back the Star Child but now they're implying its not the emperor so who knows where that's going
then there is the Dark King
The star child story in the Dawn of Fire? I think it’s going to end up with the star child dying or disappearing and the status quo safely maintained.
Yeah that was the one I was talking aboug
Honestly I'd like the Sensei/Star Child plotline to be revived because I want to see them interact with primarchs
Imagine the blow to Guilliman's ego when he finds out Emps has real sons out there and they're cooler than him
Can't imagine the emperor having actual kids if they're not a part of his plans
it varies from writer to writer. Usually Guardsmen tend not to live long enough to get back home and tell others what they see. And if that was true, Cadia would have been vaporized eons ago
most regiments simply run through attrition so fast they don't get the chance. the atoman 6th are apparantly friggin' hardasses because we've got the whole damn regiment coming back and joining a nurgle cult.
guess there's a reason cadia fell.
:3c
Whether the guardsmen get executed depends solely on if someone with the authority decides they’ve been corrupted by exposure to whatever.
Finished listening to one of the warhammer crime short stories. Apparently there’s a planet that produces cigarettes for the guard. Their propaganda also talks about how healthy and beneficial smoking is. But only the smokes their planet produces.
Oh hey America did that
Their propaganda reels were also sponsored by the manufacturers of the cigarettes.
The ending was especially funny.
I love whenever I see this referenced
(for more context, Bull Durham was one of the companies owned by American Tobacco Company who marketed themselves on being healthy, other cigarettes as unhealthy, and basically controlled the US economy at one point)
The New Albion Radio Hour also made a joke about with it's constant ads for "healthy Papaver Cigarettes" manufactured by the government, papaver being opium
Anyway yeah that's just a little period of history I really, really enjoy seeing
How the hell does an entire regiment fall to Nurgle? Are there no medical supplies for them?
Then again, we see hostile regulars with used bandages wrapped on their person
anybody got an image of the darktide leman russes
from what we've seen they 1: have no surviving commisars, 2: came back to find the hive city both apathetic to their labors and in ruins, and 3: had a cult offering them a way to "fix" those problems.
I almost themed my Guardsmen Regiment homeworld around a tobacco agricultural world. Decided against it though since it felt limiting in some ways and went with a world that produces organic and mechanical medical products. More following Organicists and Companions of Vogel rather than the Imperial Cult.
you mean the dingy grey ones? lemme check
So the hive city hurt their feelings...
nope, not yet. i'll go get a pic next time i play.
commisars can fall to chaos its just rare... that would be an interesting assassination mission
Yes! A mission where we finally get to kill a Commissar
the ogryns get upset fighting them because they like commissars
Imagine having diahrrea as a guardsman and the Commissar that doesnt like you uses it as an excuse to say youre cursed by nurgle and shoots you
probably a nicer way to die in the imperial guard considering what they are sent against
The funny comissar from the bloodied kill team
yeah exactly
maybe he just killed his commisar and took their place.
i mean, the lack of hat is suspicious. chaos champions love them some fancy headwear.
He is confirmed to be the comissar in the lore book for black stone fortress
He did however
kill the regimental commander
i've already become attached to my idea, so i'm discarding this information like fatshark discards the lessons from previous games.
Funny demolisher
we got slaughtered, which is mostly my fault for not tossing a medkit down but we also had two psykers and nobody pinging anything.
oh, and three mutants at once, but they all focused on the zealot for whatever reason so it worked out there.
Im a Leman Russ Exterminator and Leman Russ Vanquisher kinda man
Love those variants the most
Honestly still think it's hilarious that traitor killed the Soul Drinkers, stole their armor, and went deep cover so long they forgot they were traitors
A sense of true self exists within the false self
space marines and chaos marines do so much of the same stuff it's not hard.
"what are we doing today?"
"killing filthy xenos"
"right, right....for who?"
"for khorne, of course! you won't catch me screwing that up!"
"me either! for khorne!
average blood angels chapter
assault marine: "For the blood-"
Chaplain: "If you finish that sentence i legally have to shoot you"
Finally
1d4chan has the lore accuracy of the Lexicanum but the humour of a friend
Love you original rhino model
I really want to see exchange between lion, azrael and asmodai
Btw, I just now considered how fucking op the Lion's Foreststalk is
Fastest travel method
Where is the emperors soul
Since hes a skeleton
Or is that like a warp fuckery thing where you just cant see it and dont think about it
he isnt a skeleton
he's an emaciated corpse on the throne
his soul shines bright and pretty for normal humans, so you kinda see a stunning golden god kinda thing
The Sisters of Silence sees the truth
a corpse of a giant man whose mouth is open in silent torment
Oh shit i forgot that
His special perception powers
So to everyone else hes still in his godlike form
Yep
AND IS THAT WHY THEYRE CALLED SISTERS OF SILENCE BECAUSW THEY VOWED SILENCE ON HIS TRUE FORM?
It makes sense bow
Now
Holy shit
And he speaks like a cacophony of voices trying to literally not die while burning alive costantly
we dont know why they have the oath
No the sisters were made around the great crusade
new young sisters of silence speak for their elders when speaking to normal people
because no one else really knows the specific siggn language
Never watched it but heard its really good
except custodians
They should use text to speech
Space Marines understand like 10% of their sign language, because of their own battle sign language
In Eisenstein, one of them like buzzes the intercom on their suit in Ancient Orse Code
Morse Code
That seems really roundabout
but it was easier to talk in the modified astartes sign language
Astartes Sign Language is single hand, so its very limited to battle talk essentially
Custodians who deploy with Sisters constantly
can easily speak to them
because they become so familiar with their hands that the slight twitch on a finger speaks volumes in tone for the custodian to understand
which is very romantically worded if you think about it
remembering short stories about a deaf girl who talked about how the hands of others made them more beautiful when they signed
In a summary, how do servitors and servo skulls work
human brain is modified to a computer
servo skulls are simple machines for the most part
How does it work as a workaround for ai
a human brain is doing the thinking more or less
like in Mass Effect where AI is banned, but neutered AI called Virtual Intelligiences are A-Okay
i mean AI still exists in the imperium like
well
Machine Spirits are like
Ghosts in the Machines...?
they are cut from a bigger machine spirit?
they havent gone so far like Dune when it comes to hating AI thats for sure
where all forms of automated technology were banned
simple cogitators technically exist
with simple Machine Spirits attached to it
but some stuff for hard labour or complex dedicated computing might need a servitor body and brain to do like the work
important stuff or more fine tuned stuff would need a machine spirit of high quality
in some cases it could actually move the thing without a human supervisor
like the tank in Rynns World
they are drones
drones arent self-aware or robots
A lobotomized brain can't update itself and become self aware, an ai can
So you basically can give just the right amount of freedom to a servitor to do the task you ask him to do
Meanwhile an ai after a good bunch of time will inevitably become self aware and start asking things like rights and work ethic
Meanwhile most persons getting servitorized already lost their rights as they most surely did a good fuck-up or messed with the most wrong person you could... A member of the mechanicum
Fucking windows 10
Anyhow yeah, an ai becoming self aware it's not necessarily gonna mean skynet
As both Votann and Tau use them
Tbf even non-ai machinery can get infected so
Also the Imperium does have AI
Its just secret
Or really dumb dumb ones
Kastellans are kinda AI, no?
Also the Votanns themselves are advanced machinery that became advanced enough to become their own AI right?
Basically there are AI, but they are kept hidden
Nevermind the Votann cores are just AI
Getting old tho
Poor things
Gotta clean the dust outta them and reboot their OS or something
damn that's funky looking
thanks for the images
i'll have to modify some stuff to print it correctly
Look at how rusty that thing is, no wonder it doesn't even move
Thats just surface rust
Think Darktide will mention the Lion? Or is the Lion re-awakening too far in the timeline
Apparently it already does
And DT happen at the actual time
Yooo what?
Yeah darktide is set in current times
And the whole post guilliman primarch affair all happens in a relatively close time-span
Like, let's remember that most pre-primaris content was all packed together within the last few hundred years of M41
(especially after they retconned the indomitus crusade length)
its like the year 41,200 now right?
because Dante was mentioned to be like leading the blood angels for 1300 years at this point
or like 1200 years
the dude is like 1500 years old as well (according to the warhammer community post)
Lexicanum says hes been leading for 1100 years
At least two of those were before he was captain
He's probably aged more than all the Heresy era traitors
if we go by what known timeline we have and the warhammer community post
then 1100 years as chapter master is correct
Lysander points out before he got abducted into the eye of terror at the end of M40 or beginning of M41, that Dante was still the Chapter Master of the blood angels
could you imagine being Lysander and coming back to the end of M41 and learning that Dante is still alive
"Alright so everyone's new, what about the Angels of Baal"
"Oh that's still Dante"
"Huh"
It'd be especially surprising because in that time the BA were nearly wiped out a few times lmao
"Poor bastard is in dreadnought, happens to the best."
"Nah he's still walking actually."
Though I guess Lysander would know about losing loads of people
Hasn't he gotten the entire 1st company killed like a dozen times?
Especially considering he became chapter master only because he literally was the highest ranking guy still standing
I feel like thats how blood angels have to get their chapter masters now
them and their successors
"You survived? congrats, we follow you now."
chapter master dies
The captains: "So where we dropping boys"
"whoever pulls the short straw is the chapter master now."
Malakim Phoros to himself in the empty council room.
Lol
space marine age is funny
it's regularly stated that they can live forever if they don't die in battle
some space marines are thousands of years old and don't act like it
meanwhile that guy from the first horus heresy books that was present when the luna wolves were founded acts like a senile old man
I think biologically they’re functionally immortal outside of being killed, not so much mentally
Think of how many dreadnoughts are a little off their rocker
it's surprising that primarchs can act sane after being in the imperium for 10 thousand years lol
Lol was about to correct you
all the primarchs fucked off or were put asleep tho
so none of them have been in the imperium for 10k years
emperor probably has superhuman brain stuff going on so him living more than 40 thousand years makes sense
the emperor is a perpetual so he cant be killed in a conventional manner
kinda funny that everybody saw the emperor and never asked themselves if he's even human
They clearly did, they think hes a god
well that's after the great crusades mostly
But there were still worshippers in the days of the crusade, they were just more lowkey
Back then it was just like
Oh hes a super psyker
Thats cool
I think the emperor himself is lowkey about his immortality
He hid it for like what
50+ thousand years before he nearly got killed by horus
would it be that surprising if he turns out to be some kind of ancient ones creation
It would make him like 60million years old
we don't even know his actual age
he could be like a primordial human in the same way that krorks were super orks
who knows man. half the emperor's backstory is speculation from the community inspired by 20 year old lore
With the shaman ritual thing
But the emperor being from ages past while also being inhumanly huge doesn’t make sense
Plus it's not like the Emperor has ever been very good source of information
i think that's straight up one of those fan theories
Like the mother of the primarchs was relatively new for instance. The lore surrounding the Emperor is not vivid
And ceceptable to change
official wise i don't think GW even has a clue on emperor's origin. it's purposefully vague
The main thing to take away that if the emperor was around for a lot of history, he wouldn’t have been inhumanly large
the emperor's size itself is something that doesn't stay consistent either lol
Emperor could use his abilities to distort peoples perception of him
i've seen a theory that explains it by his latent psyker abilities to project himself as the size that suits the situation
It makes more sense he started as normal size and the ‘big’ one is either illusion or he just grew himself big with powers
or not his main body
it's funny to me that his lore is so vague that we don't even know what he actually looks like
for some reason artists like giving him long black hair
The closest official canon stuff is that he was from a pre-hittite tribe in Anatolia
Around 10000or something BC
its kinda confirmed that Ollanius is older than the Emperor too
thats all we have honestly
and its better than the old one theories
because 40k would just be the old ones vs everyone the story
kinda meh
the Shaman stuff was kinda weaksauce to me too
I like the more swords and sandals conan origin
where he just became who he is because he avenged his dad because his uncle killed him
also I like that stuff more because it would tie in nicely for him to suddenly like the primarchs, because for all we know, those kids were his only family left
(ignoring Erda, Ollanius, and the other Perpetuals, who he hung out with for even longer time)
The Emperor's life makes for a good tragedy
Guess being an ass comes with being perpetual
At least Olly wanted nothing but to chill and grill on a farm
Olly also had no powers
he just was a perpetual
couldnt really like, pull a masters of disguise shtick like the Emperor
yeah the shaman theory sucks. it cheapens his uniqueness if all it takes to create an emperor is to get a million psykers to die at once
lotta folks dont like the Primarchs or Emperor stuff to be too human tho
I like it more like that, its like Greek Pantheon Hubris
deep down The Emperor is always what he kinda claims
he is just a Man.
im conflicted
he clearly isn't a regular man
but i don't want him to be this mastermind of a being that planned everything all along
he definitely wasnt mastermind, he isnt you know like the other god emperor
He isnt Leto the 2nd
who Leto or Emps?
Emps
what would make him a man is him making mistakes
oh yeah for sure
Leto succeeded, but he knew the price
Emperor didnt like the price but knew the sacrifice needed
he's definitely someone who does his best to mitigate losses whilst piling potential issues
in his efforts to become distanced from his own humanity to save humanity in general, he became more grounded in his own humanity without realising it
but then at some point he discarded it and became the symbol needed
there is a really well written story there somewhere im sure
i think the theory that he planned for horus to rebel so he could become a god ignores the fact that he felt utterly betrayed and hesitated during his final battle
it just makes the entire horus heresy feel empty
yeah and its also just bad and kinda self centered
which isnt really like the Emperor in a weird way
he couldve become god at any point
if all he needed was to just like siphon energy from somewhere
hell he wouldve done it before the Dark Age of Technology
yeah
yet he put his artificial sons before it
again, if the last time he had family was at 8000 bc
and he had to kill his uncle
I think I would also mentally change when I finally have family again
but also, fuck him for not caring about his perpetual friends I guess tf
like youve hung out with them for literally tens of thousands of years
Erda and Olly had been with him since 5000 bc
Well Olly left at some point because of the tower of Babel shit or something
well if he hasn't seen them in tens of thousands of years
well Erda was with him for the longest time for sure up until the beginning of the great crusade because of you know what
but he was nice enough to let her go unharmed
and not bother her for a few centuries
youd think he would call her up and say shit like "uh so yeah, half of our sons went bat shit, you got any mind codes embedded in them I could say to switch them off?"
lol a primarch kill switch
i mean itd be smart to do
if from the get go
they wanted the primarchs to die when they were done
its not like the Emperor and Erda actually wanted to keep them alive till the end right
- Malcador to Valdor in some dingy part of the palace
Malcador - Trust me Constantin, Emperor has a plan to kill them off after the crusade.
Valdor - You sure?
Malcador - He wouldnt lie to me or you, we're like his bestest of bestest best friends.
Malcador - There's like only what 20 of them, and like ten thousand of you Custodians. Easy fight no problem.
Emperor - Good News everyone, I've succeeded in making my sons warp forged.
what if chaos figures out how to activate it lol
they wouldve used it
with that said
Perturabo and Magnus wouldve learned and found out they had a kill switch in their brains
seeing as how intelligent they were
Magnus might not have
Though seeing as Corvus managed to figure things out pretty alright
if all he needed was people praying he would have just let lorgar do his thing
the next day: Emperor - Bad News everyone, i managed to lose all 20 of the primarch babies!
Good News Everyone, we're heading to space now.
Shows them the astartes the next day.
Good News Everyone, Infinite babies!
Is there an equivalent to a photo camera device in 40K? Or is that heresy
Erda didn’t want them to have the fate big E planned for them.
And when they were scattered, Amar Astarte tried to destroy all the Astartes tech because she was too afraid of what would happen happen to the legions without them.
They’re called pict-capture devices.
Often loaded in to servo skulls.
I feel Erda wouldve been worst to them as time went on
Neato burrito, thank you!
but its nice to think that Erda wouldve been a good influence on them for sure
Well we can’t know what the future would hold but that was her intention.
The custodes were specifically created and trained to kill Astartes even before the heresy happened.
So I believe it.
the primarchs are different types of monsters
Astartes are pushovers for sure to the custodians
Yeah but it's still 20 vs 10k+malcador and the emperor in case that happened
+the rest of united humanity considering he would dispose of them at the end of the crusade
the more human space marines etc from legacy fluff were better writing
I dont think anyone wins at the end of that fight
Yeah but that would have been a long ways off.
do you mean the rogue trader marines
who were just psychopaths
my space cops
fr fr
They literally bust down and arrest space punks at parties
I WONDER WHAT THE BRITISH WRITERS WERE TRYING TO CONVEY HERE

Big E always planned on getting rid of the marines eventually. But that wouldn’t have happened any time soon. Even if he’d conquered the galaxy, he’d have to deploy the space marines in the webway while also containing things like the Orks and such.
its just a crappier version of the Judges from Dredd
I really want to get that arbites kill team at some point. I think they’re awesome. Haha.
Exaction squads ARE the goat
i think their box went extinct in like 2-3 hours
lmao
There was a period between rogue trader and second edition
those marines were even worse
tho marines are bad in any itteration
down with em

The original ultramarines article
Where macragge was a dust world that harvested space shrimp
The Tyranid war was still there though
They just wanted the shrimps
I respect that
So that was their thing, fighting tyranids
An elegant setting, for a more civilized age

Space Biker Dwarves
Though I always thought the bits they did about the HH time as more interesting than what the novels brought
is anything as warhammer as a dude with a beard and a powr axe gunning people down on a motorcycle while hurling curses about their whole bloodline?
you liked the barebone stuff, as opposed to the fleshed out lore theyve written
I guess so
Doom for starters
