"you know everyoens favorite part of monster hunter? when they use a mini gun againsst the mosnters"
I like both
ok outside of monster hunter
i like it
but
OMG IT LOOKS LIKE A DYING RAT
HOW IS IST SUPPSODE TO BE A CAT
Yeah as much as more advanced modern day fire arms are, you are going to need something bigger than that if you want to hurt an average monster
hippos and rhinos are almost bulletproof
people often forget that
hell, isnt it like
40 people a year go to the hospital because they got hit by their own bullet after shooting an armadillo in america?
a guy died from doing that
Is that the lady who played Jill in the Resident Evil movies
yea
maybe if it's a piddly bullet, but miniguns typically fire big fucking bullets
im pretty sure
Yes it ricocheted back to their skull
i dare you tot ell me what movie this is with out any context
Death easy?
This is like Laura Bailey getting into everything because her husband has some voice company iirc
its monhun
What's this movie supposed to be
Monster Hunter
That's monster hunter?
if you have to have me explain to you what Monster Hunter means
Paul ws anderson using his wife to make his action fantasies
I love monster hunter but i never really played it i only played the stories one
I miss my pet deviljho
wait, how old are you lmao
god I played since MHFreedom 1...
but i have nof riends who like monster hunter
played tri when I was like
dont remind me how old I am pls
11-13 I don't remember
so my only real experienece is on the psp
I'm practically an outsider because i practically played monster hunter pokemon
then I got back into it with world, rise and generations ultimate
3 guys and a particular hatred for a monster is the best vibe ever
Monhun is fun as fuck with friends.
love my charge blade, love me world hunting horn, love me rise great sword
And I don't have either 😎
simple as
lol
Since you're a player of monster hunter have you experienced the infamous hyperspace tackle?
Never watch paul w. s. Andersons movies
I dont play Stories, im not the target for that
Never played the mainline games but i heard his quite known for that
was old when the first Stories game came out
That's the only game i played because that's probably the only game i could afford at the time
back in my day, the longswords were a greatsword path.
they were greatswords with no defence bonus is all
I want to try the insect glaive
the french stick
Fuck it im@downlaoding monster hunter world
If i could play i might use the gun lance
Pls I just love bugs
your emotional support bug lmao
I mean is also very fitting for an ork
A melee weapon that doubles as an explosive cannon
Exactly
And oh yeah i forgot you can be a storm boy with the gunlance now
He looks like those 90s 80s movies depiction of a barbarian
best part about gunlance
Yes i would definitely try it out if i can get the game
Why are you asking that isn't that your own house
IDK
Insect Glaive and the Switch Axe, the women weapons
I think I’m having a stroke
Switch Axe is the cooler Great Sword, thats why I see only women and girls use it
I can't tell you if you're joking or actually quite serious
but itll be a cold day in hell, if you could seperate me from my great sword
Ive only seen my ex gf only use Switch Axe, and Insect Glaive, and my friend before he transitioned, also was Switch Axe and Insect Glaive...
How many mind bullets will it take to stop the Tyranids?
The new Librarian in Terminator Armour is bound to know. https://bit.ly/3oh1SJy #New40k
Don't forget to like, share and subscribe and to ring the bell to make sure you keep up to date with all our latest videos!
and from when I do hunt and call with other hunters...
Switch Axe users were also girls...
I’m a switch axe with out the axe
A Switchblade?
What like a light switch?
am i missing some time related shenanigans
wiat
Where are we driving the conversation truck off the cliff or on the road?
🍿
This is about to end poorly
I'm not that young
i struggle to believe ederius is under 18
I'm just not 20 yet
wtf
Well this is awkward
yeah, we'll end the conversation about switches here
I'm 20 in exactly 3 days
why are there so many teenagers here
but dont worry Mag, I got the joke
Also this would be easiest Grey knight librarian kitbash ever
I get the joke I'm just playing ignorant
Shame every grey knight player has like 4 already
It's better than me getting my temper overheated when i look at the stupidity of social media
Holy crap some people are so dumb
And this place is actually pretty cool
At least you're not a linguistics professor that uses "Himbo" as an example for blending
I wouldn't say
Lmao
24
also love the Psychic hood on the librarian

hopefully theres a helmet option
How to test if you are old; how many weapons to tactical marines have
man, get this kid outta here
im 23 fwiw
i knew this guy was young when he said he played monhun stories tf
More than 1
Nothing's made me feel as old as some lady telling her daughter to "Give the nice man some room"
Three
5
Bolter, Plasma Gun, Flamer, Rocket Launcher and Heavy Bolter
wait as options or on their person
1529?
I don't read marine lore
Six if you count melee attacks as a weapon too, in which case they get combat knives
Don't they get Grav guns aswell
Oh, wait, I forgot the Sergeant
you cannot escape the relentless march of time
Eight - Bolt Pistol and Chainsword
WAIT FUCK, one of the armoury upgrades improves Sergeant gear
so it's 10
Bolter, Heavy Bolter, Plasma Gun
Rocket Launcher, Flamer
Bolt Pistol, Chainsword
Plasma Pistol, Power Sword
And the knife
Okay better way to test if you are old
Unless we're talking Dawn of War II
In which case Tarkus can use any fucking thing he wants because he's fucking Tarkus
Tacticals can take Grav guns right
Dude can be a second Devastator squad if you want
Dude can be a second fucking Cyrus if you want
not only do i not play loyalist, i don't even know anyone who does
looks like im forever young
😎
I have said multiple times to multiple people that I have never played the Tabletop
Because they're getting custom-made stuff?
The only two tabletop games I have played are DnD (as both player and DM) and BattleTech
It’s like right up their ally
So i bet they are getting a better grav gun
BATTLETECHHHH
I’m trying to get into it
I've never playead a tabletop game
I heard battletech was considered very similar to warhammer
There are even memes about it
I wanna play Settlers of Catan again...
I like federated suns
I've played Tau, Admech and some fantasy and AoS army
Because ha ha knights
Beyond there being a technological dark age and several wars, it's not actually all that similar
For one, people don't exterminate worlds because of HERESY and demons
They just do it because they don't want to deal with a protracted ground war
To the point it got fucking banned
I searched this up, seems like a very old board game
Then unbanned because no-one followed the fucking Space Geneva Conventions anyway (and someone used the excuse that someone else didn't sign said treaty to exterminatus the fuck out of them, but got exterminatused back because the Taurian Concordat does NOT fuck around)
its quite fun with friends
Then re-banned as part of an unwritten Gentlemans Agreement because so much nuking was done people were starting to run out of factories to produce stuff so hard that such things as car tyres were no longer able to be made
Can you give me a short run down on how the game works?
seems very interesting
In fact all the Fun Stuff in BattleTech (XL engines, Endo-Steel structural frames, Gauss Rifles, PPCs, Pulse and ER laser weaponry) was for a long, LONG time LosTech
build your nation thing, try to make deals and trades, make roads
its on a hex grid board
Not because it didn't exist. Some factories could still make the stuff
But the factories that produced and refined the stuff used to make that stuff got fucking nuked
But you can also declare war right?
So the blueprints were still there, but no-one could fucking use them
A kingdom building game where people don't declare wars
How interesting
its funnier pissing your friends off by not letting them get the final points for like
longest road
Ah yes
The game where you can't declare war, but you can red tape your rival to death
ye
Isn't that like
80% of all European board games?
pretty much, its why its funny seeing grown adults start yelling at each other and laughing hysterically
So i can't declare war, but i can slowly economically grind down my rivals?
Damn I'm way too dumb for that
I'm way too much of a warmonger
dont worry, you said you were 17 right? youll grow up soon enough.
after some funny games of catan or something
Oh trust me, i am way too violent for any diplomatic games
Back to ye, long story short BattleTech is arguably worse than Warhammer because of how fucking banal the reasons for war are.
There's no grand and glorious crusades. No safeguarding the future of humanity.
It's a bunch of feudal lords waving their dicks at each other, except their dick enhancements weigh upwards of 100 tonnes, can run as fast if not faster than a racecar while travelling over rough terrain, and pack ordinance that'd make most nautical battleships go green with envy
And then you look at the shit they banned and realise that it's genuinely better they're just using 'mechs and tanks rather than WarShips and conventional WMDs
So basically everyone is just waging war because well they can?
Play this with some good friends that you dont want to see anymroe
I'll play it with my imaginary friends
Don't have to i don't have much
In a nutshell? Yes.
But they'll say it's 'reclaiming ancestral territory' or 'annexing lawless territory' or even just outright stating its a land grab and whoever is on the receiving end doesn't have a military big enough to warrant excuses.
God i'm lonely
Ah I see
oh there's times of peace, sure. Times when all the bullets flying are border skirmishes and proxy wars fought by mercenary companies paid by the opposing sides
But there's been like
The Fall of the Star League
Succession Wars 1-3
The Dark Age
4th Succession War
Rasalhague Republic getting their independence
monster hunter stories called your companion monsters monstie, because they're your best friend monster
Yeah i do not like remembering that
and i'm Guessing the reasons those war happened is because well not for a good reason right
And then 20 years after the Swedenese (Sweden-Japanese, long story) vikings get their independence from House Steiner and House Kurita, the fucking Clans came in and fucked everything up
Swedenese
Fall of the Star League (basically Fall of Rome/The Emperor getting kicked in the nads) happened because some 200 odd years ago, a noble didn't get saved fast enough by the Star League Defense Forces, who went through hell to rescue a whole bunch of people. He was so fucking salty he told his kids that the Star League was trash and should die, and eventually one of his Grandkids went so fucking far into the grudge he is LITERALLY THE REASON EVERYTHING HAPPENED
Stefan Amaris is Horus, Erebus and Magnus as one person, except he is nowhere near as intelligent as any of them, merely manipulative
Wow
Just because your ancestor is salty you started an entire war
Boy that is definitely not a good reason to massacre people
Then he got his shit kicked in by one Aleksandr Kerensky, who was the single most badass general to ever fucking exist and the humblest man to ever exist.
Then the First Succession War happened because the remnants of the Star League Defense Force that Kerensky commanded were so depleted they couldn't keep the core worlds of the Star League, the Terran Hegemony, protected. So the other five Houses moved in and took over what couldn't protect themselves.
Second and Third succession war I know fuck-all about, but it was mostly the same thing except Kerensky had left for deep space shortly after the First SucWar, taking about half of the SLDF with him
Damn,this goes pretty deep
They can't cast spells though
Fourth Succession War lasted like
6 months
And was started when House Davion and House Steiner had a political marriage and alliance, and as a wedding gift Hanse Davion offered his wife Katrina Steiner the entire Capellan Confederation (a bunch of assholes).
The Confederation, quite miffed by this since they, y'know, didn't fucking consent to this at all and they like NEITHER political party, saw this as the naked declaration of war that it was and got their shit pushed in
So hard that ComStar personally intervened, staged False Flag attacks to paint the Davions in an even more negative light, and got away with it too
Also ComStar isn't just a telephone company. They are basically the fucking Illuminati and have political power and reach on par with the fucking Inquisition
It's...a mess. Their lore is a mess and it's deliberate because their founder basically made the repair and maintenance of HyperPulse Generators (AKA Space Telephone Lines) a religion because there wasn't a better way he could think for long-term memory storage without people fucking with the book
Damn
So a telephone repair manual is literally the fucking bible in BattleTech
I thought warhammer 40k was overcomplicated mess
The actual bible also exists - humans are still human so all religions are present where applicable
Damn
Shinto in Space Japan/Draconis Combine and stuff like that
Anyway, Rasalhague getting their independence was a mess.
40k has a lot of stuff but it's usually very vague stuff
Usually a setting with a much smaller timeframe can get muuuuch more complicated than 40k does normally
They got everything through legit channels and both the rulers of Steiner and Kuria agreed to give them independence. No strings, no nothing - Rasalhague was going to be a border state that'd keep aggression to a minimum because no-one wanted to mess with it
Then Kuritan and Steiner nationalists decided 'no, none of that happened clearly this is a ruse, DEATH TO TRAITORS' and both tried to reclaim ceded land
So they got founded, immediately got into a war so bad that the rulers of both their parent states intervened (to the point the Kuritans called the war the Ronin War, having declared all the soldiers fighting against Rasalhague as renegades) on the side of Rasalhague, confusing the hell out of the nationalists
And after 20 years the remnants of the SLDF come back having turned into something that legitimately sounds like it came out of 40k because Aleksandr Kerensky's son, Nicholas, was an asshole and ruined everything his father tried to build because he saw Stefan Amaris as someone to emulate
And promptly beat the crap out of Rasalhague so hard that on a map of the Inner Sphere, they were barely bigger than a literal thumbnail
It wasn't an easy fight (except for that one planet that, lacking actual defenders, challenged the Clanners attacking them to a football match. They lost something like 500-2 because the Clanners sent Elementals, who are genetically engineered badasses that make Space Marines look like Ratlings) and ceded the planet to them as that was the terms of the 'duel.')
After that I don't know. There's like
five more eras, and stuff just gets crazier
Holy damn
Oh, right, one of the succession wars was started because the head of House Liao at the time had a dream that one of the rulers of House Steiner or Davion had been replaced by a clone, told their rivals about it, and accidentally uncovered a plot to bring the infiltrated house down because said ruler actually was replaced by a clone
An entire war happened because of a dream
Ok umm
To be fair, the whole plot was uncovered by accident
Hoooookay
House Liao has a problem
Their civilians are okay. They have bugger-all rights, but enough that the average Imperium peasant would think they're nobles in comparison
But their leaders? Every last one of them had something wrong in the head
The whole damn mental disorder spectrum, from Bipolar to every kind of Schizophrenia.
It's bad, and AFAIK it's all played seriously
Maximillian Liao, however, got VERY lucky
However, any Liao ruler who isn't insane gets killed by the ones who are for a myriad of reasons. So he fakes having something wrong with him
So when he told people that someone had been replaced by a clone because of a dream, they mostly just laughed it off until someone decided 'may as well check' and found out, holy crap, he's actually right
I’m so tempted to make a white scars army, but idk how much monster hunting they Really do
But I do like the aesthetic
I am leaving out a LOT of details because I've forgotten most of them, but the things I do remember is that all this started literally because of a dream a Ming the Merciless-looking MF told someone that their dad was a clone spy
Ok battletech goes quite deep
Ooo battletech lore
There's like
100 novels man
And unless you want Far Country to be canon, there aren't even sapient aliens
And most people don't count Far Country as canon
Let’s say it didn’t end well
thank you for trying to explain to me how this entire setting works
Even though
JAGSUAHh I saw that
I probably did not understand at least 90%
Long, LONG story short, space is divided up into five feudalistic houses and a bunch of independent polities around them
They all hate each other for different reasons and punch each other in the face with multi-ton walking death machines
Tech has literally been nuked so hard that toothbrushes are considered a rarity on some planets
And then when things were going good and getting better, Mongols with Rocket Launchers attacked and decided to set up shop where they weren't kicked out
And i thought dark age of technology tech is rare
If a toothbrush is that f****** rare
I'm impressed
Then Space AT&T got angry when the emergency defence league formed to fight said space mongols collapsed without turning into a new Space Empire that they decided the only way to go forward was committing every single war crime including merely theoretical ones on everyone else until they bowed down to them
Then they got war crimed back harder
Then the HPG networks blew up for no reason and the plot didn't move forward from there because the creators of BattleTech were getting the crap sued out of them
I forget the exact reason because the earlier lawsuits were because some 'mechs looked very similar to the anime that inspired their designs, but Catalyst took those out when requested
Also the mods can get angry at me if they want for shilling but there's a BattleTech kickstarter going on right now for the new Mercenaries set
3 days left as of writing
I was just interested in the lore for a bit
They're nearing 6 million at the moment and there's a cookbook at the 7mil mark that I want
I don't know if they're selling it separately
But holy hell it gets deep huh
I need to know how to make Wolf's Rangoon
Black Pants Legion can help you wrap your head around it if you got
a week
to spare
But hey thank you for explaining the setting for me even though you could have use the time on better things
np
Tex Talks Battletech is a new series where Tex talks Battletech, Battletech lore, history, and mech combat in the glorious 31st Century. Avast Clanners, its Fightin' time. No guts. No Galaxy.
In the setting of Battletech, all histories eventually stem from this event - the Amaris Civil War. Who was Stefan Amaris and why was he a bad guy? Watch ...
If ye don't care about the 'mechs, this is a decent place to start on the lore
It's a two-parter and takes about 3 hours in total, including the self-made memes at the end of each video and the intermissions in the middle
If ye do care about the 'mechs, here's the first video

Thanks man
np
Also battle tech is very very cheap to play
And all the rules are online for free
Wait are they?
I think so
Buying from boxes 'mechs are about 10 bucks a pop
40 for a standard IS Lance, 50 for a Clan Star, 60 for a ComStar 'X' Level
'X' being what the Level is, like Battle or Command
AUD by the by
Oh yeah what do white scars think of nids?
I know they have a unique stance on them
I forgot what tho
wow that sucks
Probably their idea of a fun night on the plains
media stop using mental illness as a synonym for evil challenge (impossible)
I hate how media shows DiD :/
I don’t have it but one of my partners do
Apparently the way that TWW portrays Harkon isn’t terrible, but them wanting to become one again is kinda mid
I gotta ask her more about him tho
it's whatever, some folks wan't to some don't
Technically it's your choice in game if I recall
The trailer is just set up that way since ykno, it was le funny magic artifact that caused it
there's way too many depictions of DID that favour one over the other though
it's not a bad thing, just over-represented
Split?
Yeah
never heard of it
Imagine every negative stereotype of people with DiD as a movie antagonist
sick
Yea
shoutsout to killer 7 though
idk if i'd count harkon for DiD since it was literally cuased by magic, but I don't have it nor do I know anyone that does, so what do I know
it's in no way an accurate depiction, however, it beats ass
As in, it painted people with DID as evil
yeah that was a sarcastic "sick"
The guy has like what
6 personalities
Most of them are pitiable or straight up evil
And one is a literal monster
anyway harkon's condition being caused by magic isn't really material, the end result is still the same
I know a guy who's got DiD, and it's funny in a way cause 90% of the time you don't even notice the difference or shifts in personality from the outside
folks get good at masking that kind of thing
Meanwhile Split goes basically the "multiple souls in one body" explanation
The underhive lore in the new war boss book is pretty crazy.
Yep, also not all cases of DiD go to extreme shifts, they can be much more subtle
that's true
New war book?
It’s brand new, just came out. Highly recommend.
which underhive?
What's the name
or which hive, rather
Warboss
I do very good(? I think idk what other way to put this) at seperating the "wacky video game/movie character" from the real actual people who have the disorder that character is based on, especially older characters from before we understoof a lot of these things
so that probably shaped how I view it
Alright
Some planet they made up for the novel.
Hopefully i don't fall asleep reading
It shows an underhive community.
This is the book right?
a gnoblar
Yup that one.
That’s a grot named Scraggy.
that's fair, but people who don't have a lot of representation often find themselves looking to characters which are "close enough"
The main point of the book is that the Orks are trying to capture a webway gate so they can instantly travel to where ever they need to go. But around the webway gate.
SPOILER WARNING
||The human underhive community dress in imitation of Eldar and even wear spirit stones (not actual spirit stones but gems to imitate them). They even style their armor like them and believe the Eldar were warriors of the emperor. They’ve even lead by a seer that’s a human woman.||
looks a lot like a gnoblar tho ngl
Yeah.
This is the same guy who made brutal Kunnin
Another great book.
I must say this guy's good at making orc books
mike brooks' name comes up every now and then, he's a decent author?
Sounds a lot like that regiment that started painting themselves green after fighting orks for so lonf
isn't that gorkamorka
He’s the ork guy and always writes them really well.
good to know, for when i inevitably get back into orks
Oh yeah, the Diggaz
We not talk about the d word
is it a slur
No, they are humans who mimic orks
ah, convention goers
This was basically my initial reaction to the new Wulfen.

i thought the little guys in gorkamorka were just like
tribals or something
who are really into orks
they kinda are
Yeah confused them for a regiment but they are just the human pop of gorkamorka
Yes.
Yes they are
Actually there's two groups
The Digganobz and a bunch of abhumans/mutants mutated by craploads of radiation
The latter are still loyal Imperial citizens and are desperately trying to get help
poor bastards
i read about them
they are getting incredibly purged if the imperium ever finds them
Apparently ||they believe the emperor purged their ancestors and they’re all that’s left. They honor him and his warriors and dress like Eldar and protect the gate. Which seems to imply that the Eldar and humans coexisted peacefully on the planet before big E showed up.||
not impossible, ||the eldar's main issue with humans is that they're usually xenophobic little shits, otherwise they're indifferent to friendly||
deldar notwithstanding
Now I gotta wonder if actual soulstones work for humans
I imagine psykers could probably do it with sufficient power.
the main issue with humans is their warp presence is less focussed iirc
so it'll be harder to get a bearing with it
human souls have been captured before in one way or another
a soulstone is a devices which does that precise thing
i imagine it could be made to work
soulstones are tuned to eldar psychic energies, you'd need to make a new vareity for humans.
the eldar probably cloud do that, but don't care about monkey souls.
time for my rant about how much im in a love hate relationship with grey knights!
The eldar are way to arrogant for for even that idea to come up
jk
Because they would be disgusted if they think of that
Also soulstones are a very limited resource
And I doubt the eldar are gona use them on humans when they’re the one thing that stops their soul being eaten
pretty sure chaos has made human soulstones a bunch of times, but as a torture device
Why am i not surprised
chaos makes crap versions of other people's stuff all the time.
weapons, planets, space marines.
Its gotta be depressing being Guilliman right now
You wake up. Shits all fucked. Dad wont help. All you bros are gone or are assholes. You try to fix things but you cant take one step with something going wrong.
I hope someone near him has told him he's doing better then a lot of people have in last couple 1000 years at least 🥹
And I don't think even The Emperor had to deal with something as huge as The Great Rift, right?
Imagine waking up and a giant cleaver cut your country in half.
Cant call ya moms, ya fwb, cant get your old car in storage, nothin
At least Johnson's awake, I guess
The ruinstorm?
As normal eldar
ah
The dark eldar are less insane
And less all about torturing
Mostly since they don’t need to now
harlequins?
wouldnt them joining the ynnari be kind a betraying their vows to the laughing god
Still weird
i refuse to spell his name
He loans them out
So to speak
ah
They still ultimately serve him
But they work with the ynnari because
He tells them to
compared to a normal drukhari/eldar
They like a maroon red
For any eldar who want to wear the colors of the ynnari
Otherwise they wear whatever colors
They formerly had
oh
With ynnari symbols
i was expecting diet drukhari tbh
wow thats a nice red
Yeah
Their eldar guardians have similar colors
If they choose to wear ynnari colors
what about culturally?
Culturally they’re like a mix between a normal craftworld and corsairs
They have multiple roaming ships
In a large group
Instead of 1 big ship
OH YEAH THAT EXISTS
If you couldn’t tell he is an incubus
And he’s in charge of a big chunk of the incubi under the ynnari
I think the models are gona be good
I think the rules are gona still suffer from the same issue as fantasy
Where you need a ton of chaff
oh yeah the plastic models will be great for kitbashes
Plastic models?
the only part im sad about compared from my expierence in aos to Total warhammer is bretonnia
Wonder if they reveal launch date on the votann beastmen box
but cities is basically the same thing
Old world is a mix of resin and plastic
I’d assume
Cities is nothing like bretonnian armies
I sincerely hope it wont sell out before i can even order it
Mostly since bretonnia was whoops all Calvary
with the so and so crusades releasing there will probably be a new cavilary
based off the single image we got
its either a plastic uhhhHh
We got new funny flying horse minis
plastic demigryphs or a new cav
sorry i had to look up the name because griffins are apparently stuck behind the LoTR payw all
yee but the helmets looked like the demis
they do
its for leaders only tho
im sorry what the fuck is this lmao
what is anything in this picture
I think bretonnia could get hippogryphs as basic units(but they aren't in aos)
uh
looks like extra bits you can add on?
can you link where you see that
hopefully they make cities not just "you can run these with stromcast"
Brettonia had a unit of crazy peasants that carried around a reliquary of stuff belonging to fallen grail knights.
im pretty sures basically a cities subfaction
That’s what it looks like to me.
man, I really like that axe the termi librarian has
i cant find te community
but heres the spiky bits
#darktide-memes well genestealer cults will protect the planet they're on if it gets invaded by non-tyranids and threatens the cult. that said most of the time they just hide and pretend to be loyal citizens until the day of accession
@gleaming patrol while genestealer cultist don't really stop being genestealer cultist the cult of the bladed cog is what happens when a genestealer cult gets going on a forge worlds so you do get adeptus mechanicus genestealers cultists
"4 armed emperor? Mine can fit atleast 100 Mechandrites"
Day of Ascension?
something rebel of genestealer in bad work place in the forge within Adaptus Mechanicus?
the day of ascension is the day the cult plans to rise up and overthrow the government of the planet which is also when the tyranids arrive
aye
I’ve read it. It’s fun.
And it really characterizes the gsc.
With some horrifying implications at the end to boot.
i wonder what happens when the hive fleet heading to a planet get splatted by naval forces before reaching the planet where the cult revolts
do they like panic or just go out swinging?
A hive fleet is more than a match for the imperial navy.
It would take an absolutely massive imperial navy force to threaten a hive fleet.
smaller branches of the fleet are picked off all the time. it's pretty rare they throw the whole-ass force at a single planet.
You didn’t specify a tendril. You said a hive fleet.
i don't care, either. it was implied.
although it'd be funny if a whole hive fleet was headed to a planet and they just ended up conga-lining into a black hole while the cult was fighting wildly against the planet's guard regiment.
I don’t know about that.
But anyway, a tendril would depend on the size and what they’re facing. A hive fleet tendril of sufficient power would see a navy flotilla and fly right towards the swarm of angry treats.
They might even let one escape with a genestealer or lictor in tow.
you just gonna ignore the entire point of what i said?
Oh about them going down swinging? Probably yeah they would. A cornered beast is extremely dangerous as they say.
I imagine they’d make a point to stick a genestealer/lictor on one or more ships though.
That’s something we always see.
it'd still be pretty funny them going all "the time is nigh" only for the signal to suddenly go "change of plans, good luck"
It is possible to lure them away.
you're extremely no fun.
:p
The cult could very well could take control the of planet when they revolt, as likely they’ve made the necessary preparations
Another hive fleet can always make a pit stop
Also cults can sometimes take over entire systems too
theres a reason GSC are extremely underrated when it comes to the real threat they can pose
they're everywhere until the impirium sends an force to make them not be there anymore, such is the 40k universe. insane hyperbole on all fronts forever.
When the fortress was being sent into the planet an entire planetary evacuation was called.
Most Cadians got out, some didnt, a certain group of Cadian refugees also settled in a forgeworld which made them into servitors lol

Skitarii unless they couldn't shoot a gun
then they got turned into gun servitors

😩
no point in wasting all that training lol
The option of get conscripted or starve
truly an adeptus mechanicus moment
Lobotomy Moment
also funnily enough
they're the new "gate" against the eye of terror
Which means they aren't really exporting war material anymore because it literally comes out of the factories
straight onto a battlefield
because the planet occasionally takes a dip into the eye now
Yes
There's still surviving regiments
And also new colonies that carry on Cadian traditions
Judging by the Hammer and Bolter animation they may have pretty bad attrition rates for the veteran Regis due to them being mega prideful and stubborn
The number evacuated from cadia per the novel was around 2-3 million.
+cadian regiments deployed elsewhere that survived
And according to the 9th edition Guard codex the majority of them have become a fleet based regiment who use their travel time between warzones to replenish their numbers and make children.
They're gonna make the Rock: Cadia edition before long
Keep in mind that Cadian reproduction isn’t love or romance based, according to the Cadian Blood novel they have breeding programs where it’s all organized.
So yeah, everything about them maintaining their numbers has been given an explanation in lore. :x
Its been that way since the 8th edition guard codex yeah
God that episode was so bad
"Cadia stands..." the guy whos literally half dead and bleeding out says manning the MG nest facing literally nothing

Just planets
Mechanicus literally be playing a strategy game skirmish mode once in a while
Its usually just heavily militarised worlds anyway
There was a hive city
With cadian traditions
In the cadian sector
Guess what happened to it

OWNED
Starts with a Kai and ends with a ros
God the mental image of millions of cutthroat voicelines suddenly silencing made me feel better
Agrapina also funnily enough lost it’s biggest customer during the fall of Cadia
An event from the 13th crusade i find funny is the Cacophony of Extremis Six, where some fuckhead thought a bunch of drop troops and some tempestus could take on the emperor's children using sonic weapons that could level starscrapers
Genius
Also apparently fulgrim woke up from his gaming chair just for this and killed a bunch of them to then go back being useless
He’ll be back for 10th so hopefully he does something.
Heyyyy, can anyone recommend any white scar books?
Wait, Kor'sarro Khan Cannonically has a bike he uses, but
He doenst use it on table top?
I get why they didn’t give him a bike on table top
But damn :/
He came out before the Primaris bike models
This is the fulgrim way
Ngl i think hunt for voldorius might be their only major book
Scars
Path of heaven
warhawk
they're all horus heresy
but theyre banger books
They got lots of short stories
Im trying to think whether they got successor stories but Im drawing blanks
The Silent Hunters have a novel iirc
No it's Dark Hunters
They've got a novel and a short story where they're front and centre
Dark Hunters: Umbra Sumus and The Blind King
Just saw someone unironically say that since Yarrick beat an Ork, he's faster than bullets
lmao
Hey, why did mechanicus ban Ion tech?
Machine spirit no like it
Wether that has any actual like reasoning

40k fans are something else
maybe i can convince them the emperor can breathe in space cause he put the dragon on Mars in the middle ages
Didn't Guilliman survive getting vented into space ?
:|
Tbf when you are a psychic demigod that's one of the more plausible things
insert meme of Leia flying through space in Last Jedi but with the emperor
if the emperor can shapeshift and change his height
he can breathe in space
have you seen how crazy some old turkish people can be
well
"turkish" he's technically pre turkey
That guy be like
i mean thats the correct way to call out a fallacy
Maybe not old but we've all met Dilara

If turks get crazier as they get older, Dilara must be a Great Old One
I've seen someone say because of this, female empress emperor is canon
The Emperor is said to have taken female form several times in canon, it's just not shown because GW loves huge, sweaty men
Also totally acceptable in the Imperium to worship an Empress as long as it doesn't deviate too much from the Imperial Creed
Gender Fluid, and Im getting thirsty
Did he achieve rebis
There it is
It's Malcador saying it i think
He would know, being the Emperor
No wonder malcador simped him so hard
im pretty saure we literally had this exact conversation about femperor
im pretty sure it was less than a week ago actually
goddamn are we already on repeat wtf
Not like there is much else to do
i'm sure i'll figure out some question that can start a truly great conversation
Welcome to the server Yalma. Where the same 10 questions are posted on repeat
yes i know ive been here a while
Now, are you after a great convo or great argument?
Because mentioning the space wolves at different times of day can spark either
now see i'd be lying if i didn't say i loved to argue
but i also want to .like, get some painting done or play as video game so i can't participate in an argumment
Go into the meme channel and mention something that opposes the hive mind
Like "Sicarius is not bad"
i once posted a meme i genuinely thought was a fun little meme about space marines and the cognitive dissonance i experience when painting them cause they fash and i dont like fash
i got like, 4 or 5 different people indignantly responding to it
I love fash!
Fashion

He kinda isnt
The Damnos Incident book is purddy good
Wasn't his whole issue he was like the target for a lot of the ultramarine Mary sueism "back in the day"
unfortunately cato sicarius will forever be stuck with a memeified reputation, because 80% of the 40k community just loves to revel in their decade-old memes
yes
Yeah his codex entry was super mary sueish
And then TTS made it worse
But his books showed a leader/captain trying his best
i love TTS, but TTS reinforced all the worst elements of 40k meme culture
Youre right and im glad someone else says the truth
Yeah but doesn't he pull Ventris' ass out of the fire
He does but he still is a dick but there were stuff happening
Doesnt make him less of an awesome and okay dude
I mean as is the case with a lot of unoriginal 40k “””memes””” is they have a tiny shred of truth and tonnes of subjectivity
I think the two 40k memes that annoy me are: space wolves are furries and salamanders kill elder children
Ye he has an ego but he's Knight Champion of the UM right? Pretty much their best melee fighter?
Elder children, you mean teens. (Jokes)
Well salamanders aren’t the only ones who kill Eldar children…..arguably the UMs killed more by cleansing a craftworld during the GC iirc
I kinda appreciate that Guilliman took sicarius around because he reminds him of another son
It's just like someone will bring up either liking salamanders or painting them
salamsnders kill eldar children is kinda ok because it helps ground the fact that the spacce maarines are all enforcers of a fascist empire
oh yeah this is fucking stupid i hate it
The you get "but they kill elder children"
Yeah but the thing is they don't stop at children
Oh nvm they did it in m41
this also happens if you post any xeno content, or often chaos content too, people will be like "haha heretic!!! you're a heretic!!! purge the xenos. ims o fucking funny laugh"
I mean wasn't it a) just Vulcan that did it and b) didn't he feel bad
No one bats an eye when you tell them BA aspirants have to walk through a desert only to fight a melee against other kids before starting their training, or how the Mentors' serfs are kept in crappy conditions and wear the flayed skin of their parents' as capes
They love saying Cato and Kaldor are mary sues
But you kill one elder teen in a blood rage
But ignore the fact Ragnar Blackmane did more mary sue shit
Or any of the older Calgar books
I know little of drago other then I have heard he does some like dummy stupid stuff
As you’ve probably come across most of the time, if someone’s using rung out, old memes to clown on something in 40k.
It’s because said faction/sub faction isn’t their cup of tea and are using the easiest way to attack them
Think he killed not only the kid, but more Eldar and a bunch of civilians too
In a long span of time
Compared to less than a hundred years for ragnae
Night lords killer the civies
And his friend
Throws spear hurts magnus, goes to terra and works with navigators, does some more mary sue shit
Suddenly captain of a wolf company
What
Doesn't he banish Magnus
Which really pissed him off, leading to him killing the teen
He also kills a big wolf before he's a marine
The Magnus thing also happens while he's a low ranked goon iirc
Yeah
Then he duels a Dark Angels champion, loses, then stabs him in the back and kills him
The Blood Angel captain lost a relic of sanguinius and was punished
Ragnar loses a relic and is sent to terra as banishment
That's based tho DA are kinda cring sometimes
The blood angels comic what was it called again?
I am more or less joking btw
I mean is this much of a surprise. More than any other first founding, the Vylka Fenrika or however you spell it correctly are the exception to the rule
He killed the Eldar teen, a whole other bunch of eldars on that planet and an entire population of Nocturne descendants that were taken slave by DE and then got freed by the eldars on the planet
To what rule
Yeah but ykno wolves fans get off on them being honourable barbarians meanwhile they're just a bunch of inconsistent savages
I like the space wolves
Except the wolves arent barbarians, they have culture and poetry
Like actual vikings
well i know someone you should meet!!!!!
Space Wolves fans dont pay attention to that
this looks like bait to me
And just assume unga bunga space wolves kill rawr
Red Rocket
Lukas is also very based
Susan membrane
Didn't he like, put an inquisitor in a pen with horni grox
The Space Wolves were a more refined lineage in terms of poetry and culture back in the crusade era.
Where the canis helix malfunctions and their gene-seed degradation wasn’t their defining trait
Sadly space wolves are treated mostly like actual vikings in media, aka not showing 80% of their culture except Big Axe and Raid
Just add wolves into that
Dont remind me
Got the ttw kislev treatment
Vikings live in cold
Though of the two “””””barbarian””””” legions as dubbed by outsiders.
The White Scars have a lot more culture and intrigue going for them tbh, but that’s my WS bias talking
Despite most space wolves are recruited in the not cold parts of the planet
Because the cold parts are uninhabitable
Just living on islands raiding each other to survive
Its literally how to train your dragon lmao
Tabletop: We're Rus/Eastern Europe Inspired
TTW: Ice and Bears
WS are probably my like 3-4th favorite group of space marines
As the White Scars were kind of a blank slate. Where as the Space Wolves had a defined and frankly strange starting point in 40k and the writers had to walk it back to something a little more sensible in the GC
||make the next chapter master of the space wolves a hiccup twink please||
Qin'Xa has one of the best fucking armour ever
Ragnar Blackmane as chapter master has been called here
Blackmane? The lad who decapitated Ghazghul?
Local Old Man Grimnar fell from a hive city roof, Ragnar Blackmane is now GreatWolf because fuck all of you
More likely that Grimnar would fall to chaos and be replaced by one not corrupted
You what
Mhm, his Khorne axe
He exorcised it or some shit
But it's 100% nasty business
I haven’t read the SoF but the Lex states it to be a weapon forged by Khorne
Although its not new news that The Imperium does sometimes exorcise things and reuse it
Now to me there’s a difference between a chaos weapon and a weapon corrupted by chaos and cleansed
It was a power axe used by a chaos lord
Grimnar took it
Cleansed it
And used it for himself
Whilst he rides on sleigh
He reforged it
And delivers presents
Morkai is not safe, as when he wounds magnus with it Khorne gets amused
Apparently it retains some warpyness
Like the rune priests in the GC era
It's not a daemon weapon through
I wonder if anyone has an excerpt about that axe from the Siege of Fenris because I’ve seen people claim either it’s perfectly safe or completely unsafe without a passage to back up either claim
Just an axe that stayed too much in the hands of chaos guy
I have to give it to fenris they have to produce some mad beliefs if they can do that crap
It's safe to use, but apparently Khorne is still connected to it and is one of the only things that can wound magnus daemon form
Fenris has a small deity of chaos and so did….Caliban?
Caliban had chaos artifacts not entities
Sadly it was their copium
Please tell me that's not true
Sane inhabitants?
Those exist at the north near the volcanoes
They make the weapons and whatnkt
Caliban was a chaos artifact
It’s speculated that the Fenrisian Kraken is an ancient ancestor of the Tyranids iirc
As a result they dont get picked for space marines
Krakens iirc are believed to be feral nids
I swear to god, if there's a remotely terrifying creature in a planet it's always the god damned tyranids
True, Vashtorr got his prize using caliban
so did fenris just get invaded by tyranids like 15K yewars before anyone else?
Fenris also has non-nid giant monsters so it's cool
Who knows maybe the ancient vaults in terra also has ancient tyranids
Technically still didn't fully as he's not ascended
But he's on his way there for sure
Hey that's a positive, honestly i'm just tired of tyranids being always the reason of monsters evolving into ancient horrors
On Baal, there are organisms that look like water that steals the water from your body
Dante made bunch of blood angels and sucessors make a moat
Fill it with thirstwater
The thing with Fenris, Catachan and whoever else, likely had very early vanguard incursions land on those planets. That or it’s from a Necron sending part of a hive fleet through time, I think back in time
Bunch of tyranids died to it
The Last Ditch dates a tyranid bioship as having died in M34
Early scout fleets were around in the heresy already no
So they've been in the galaxy way before the attack on Tyran
Tyranids notice the galaxy in the last horus heresy novel
Wait no I got books mixed up bad
Like real bad
That was in Pharos
horus heresy still has one book left in it
first book set on murder had mega arachnids that where basically nids
im so excited for the 912th book in the series!!!
Megarachnids were just minor xenos, not nids
im not so sure they were apparently modified by the xenos human emipre that beat them and then force devolved them to never be capable of space travel
They use metal tools, didn't eat the entire planet, and apparently weren't a hivemind, they were nothing like nids
People blame Erebus for things going bad with the Interex but imo things would've gone sour anyway
They seemed to be pretty horrified of Horus and Co using warp travel iirc
yeah WARMASTER seemed like a pretty bad name
the interex were just going to get invaded eventually
even if horus and co weren't gonna do it, eventually the emperor would be like "alright kids let's go invade and exterminate those filthy xeno-loving heretics!!!"
and then the primarchs would all say "yaaay"
Eldar: hey there's this thing called chaos that's really bad just wanted to give you a heads up
Interex: thanks! Can you tell us what it looks like so we can recognize it and not have to become completely paranoid whenever we encounter foreigners?
Eldar:
Interex:
Eldar: anyway yall have a good day
The Eldar are the OG manipulative twats so sounds about right
This is basically why a lot of their plans fail
just tell us what you saw
I always find it funny how the emperor thought he could just talk to konrad and after that he would be completely fine but spent 20 years after konrad blew up his planet doing nothing to help him.
Just a quirky little mistake tee hee
So like I get Emps cut the Word Bearers some slack with the whole religion thing because he had some spare custodes to watch them
But how the actual fuck did erebus get away with having literal Chaos scriptures tattooed on his head
probably give him the equivalent of elector shock therpy with warp powers to drive the visons out
the emperor allowed the people of Baal to worship Sanguinius still
Emperor was lenient on a lot of things
Sang begged obviously for Emperor to show mercy and allow it tho
Yeah but here's the thing
Likely an oversight on the author or the Custodes aren’t familiar with the scripture. Who knows
Sanguinius wasn't a chaos god
i only ever read the one book from HH about sang and tbh hes kinda boring
hes just a angry feely sort of dude
its just love empra love sons hate how angry my sons get
like i like fulgrim from book 5 way more or perty from book 23
Thats a pretty fair opinion
at the end of the day Sanguinius is cool but super one-note
if he didnt have too much of a good design either people would just say "Yeah he died to Horus, it was pretty sad."
He has about as much flavor as unseasoned chicken
Like that time he made the BA Gestapo to kill anyone who showed bad signs
someone who is "unnecessarily cruel" can't "care too much"
all primarchs are bastards
When they say he has the emperors soul, they also meant the worse parts
Yeah i don't mind one note characters at all like angron is honesty pretty fun to read about since you know he's just a self pitting child or a angry rage monster
angron is an allegory for mental illness
Perturabo reminds me of me, only I'm incompetent
You love robots and playing with minis
Only I'm allowed to be incompetent
Fulgrim to the war council
More like every traitor primarch when something goes bad
No but i wallow in self pity and can't socialize
He socialized, mostly with his sister
And probably to the robots
Or to his brothers before he beats them up cause he’s fed up with them
Remember that time Fulgrim stripped for him
basically angron has something in his brain that forces him to act in ways that are counterproductive and damaging to himself and others. like many mentally ill people he knows what he's doing is wrong, he knows that the things he does are cruel and evil and he hates himself for it, but he literally cannot help himself. many severely mentally ill people will do things they know are damaging to their own self interests but they do it anyway because of that thing in your brain.
angron is never understood by his brothers (the rest of society) and is never treated in a comprehensive way, instead being used and chewed up by the emperor. angron is simply abused and tormented, and not once does anyone take his pain seriously, just expecting him to suck it up and power through it. indeed, it is because of the fact that no-one truly works to help him, and that he is unable to help himself, that he eventually falls to chaos - who prey on emotion instability.
and mentally ill people are often the most emotionally unstable.
The emperor should of just pulled the plug on angron while he was on the operating table, and make a new body for his soul to inhabit. If his soul was even salvageable at that stage
Assuming his soul will still keep the calming aura ability
Plus they did prove cloning primarch bodies work
But not enough time or emperor didnt want to waste time
Youd think the emperor couldve used his powers to pull out the nails or something
big e said it would of killed angron
And its not like the other architect of the primarchs was dead
Erda and the other scientists couldve done something
her heart would of broke seeing the state of angron
In fact its kinda referenced a lot that the primarchs did go to terra for stuff
especially considering it was Erda who threw them the fuck into the warp wasn't it?
Heres your protocol lessons okay bye
she would of seen the nails as her fault likely
