so the Emperor has to do something to stop the disaster
Like, big E probably didn't foresaw the wings of sanguinus, neither the iron hand of ferrus, but he foresaw them being what they would become
also, "telling the Primarchs about Chaos" could only lead to worse result
Big E admit to a custodes that he can see the future, but not all the steps to get to such future
okay understood ... so in doubt it was well intentioned
still not a great move to throw his only psyker son under the bus at Nicaea
the other way is to kill him
He didn't throw him under the bus, he stated that he shouldn't try to learn from the warp, which is probably the most reasonable thing that big E ever did
In fact, he was protecting magnus with that
which, sadly, is actually a better choice
Because why not?
But magnus being the dumbest ever went with "i know better than a guy that have 10x my power and knowledge, yeah, i'm definitely better than him and stronger too"
we as a scholar of history with all the texts at our disposal can see that
but i seriously doubt that it was possible for magnus to see, even as a superhuman
magnus just wanted to make his father proud and reverse the edict
Look, if someone that is plainly stronger than me in my strongest part come and tell me, stop trying answer in a extraverse where you don't know what the price is and it is dangerous i would probably take that advice
He wanted to prove what he never was, a smart person, and also an humble one
but what the emperor said was more like "dare to use the warp and i will destroy you" thats hardly an explanation
Eh, he was never really diplomatic true
But, i mean, if someone like big E, and you as psyker can see feel his power, came and tell you that, would you still do what he told you would make him destroy you?
and my primary point is that this is not how you behave as a father. perhaps being a father was just a mask but still most of his sons looked for his guidance, wisdom and appreciation
i wouldnt say that he wasnt smart or humble
just naive
and who would not be naive? he tried to fullfill his "duty" bestowed on him as a scholar of the warp
its like to ask russ to stop killing and start a flower business
That wasn't his duty ever, it was a duty that he bestowed himself... He was probably meant to be a scholar, but not necessarily of the warp
And He was NEVER a Father
that wasn't His job
The Emperor is the Master of Mankind, and that alone
He was their Maker, their Master, and their Lord
somehow, the Loyalists took that fact much better than the Traitors
What are some HH characters you would like to see alive in 40k
I want to see eidolon again
He’s leading the largest group of emperors children
Lore wise
Other then that all the loyalist marines are fucking dead lol
Me too! I bet he’s coming with the EC codex in like 5 years lmao
Dorn, Rho-mu 31 and Dalia Cynthera
I think Dalia is dead
What she did ?
Despite her ascension to becoming the guardian of the dragon
Someone else replaced her
Iirc
Nvm
Ignore me
In the Mechanicus book or somewhere else ? Cause at some point they think she is dead
Afaik she is alive, and looking for who stole the book
So I'm reading a Ciaphus Cain book and he's having a dream where Slaanesh threatens to eat his soul
Is that like, an actual attempt on his life by Slaanesh? Because that sounds like a dream with very real consequences if it went bad. Plus, he had to be woken up by Jugen of all people to escape, which also points to warp fuckery.
Yeah
It was a Slaanesh daemon Princess he was having nightmares about after he’d killed her previously.
But it is described in some bits of lore that Slaanesh stuff can haunt dreams.
Yeah lmao, he’s a ‘oh hey he is doing stuff and is important’ and then never mentioned again, like every CSM character
Same thing with Night Lords
Night lords aren’t one of the big 5
Their biggest warband at least was led by a Daemon Prince
Kekw
Never shows up
If you aren’t World Eaters, Emperors Children, death guard, thousand sons or Black legion you won’t get lore
Oof
They were literally the main antagonist of lords of silence lmao
Like Jesus the only legion thT actually like them is BL
I think that not even them like WB
I don’t know if modern world eaters like them-
Rightfully so i would add
Lmao
The one thing they can agree on is if angron shows up in real space
They’re gona go to his location
Pre HH angeron actually had a pretty okay relationship with lorgar
Not the best
But like ‘hey I get ya’
‘Ok nerd’
Yeah
Also word bearers literally made the dark apostle, (and dark commune I’m not too sure)
OHHH YEAHHH
Who is sort of a modern Gal vorbak
How do you call your chaplains a dark apostle and think you're the good guy
I HAVE A GOOD REASON FOR THIS
it’s a big part of the ‘newer’ (ha) word bearer books, ever legion has a thing they do best out of everyone, and for the word bearers it’s loyalty. They were loyal to a flaw and many word bearers use this as an excuse
The night lords assault marine ignoring the fact he’s growing talons
It’s easier to sacrifice worlds of people when you believe you are predisposed to it
Is hilarious
Lmao they're literally like "lol sorry I'm an Aries 🤣 rollin"
still seems like a dream that could kill if it went on too long
though IDK if thats a thing in the lore
I think it was more of a threat than an attack
catching the eye of a high ranking pawn of a chaos god aint a good thing
even if it is dead
Did it say where the dark commune first came from?
I don't know how far you are so I won't spoil her deal, but her and Cain boned down so that's why she's so interested in him
I'm mostly just wondering if lethal dream attacks are a thing in 40k or not
see if its a threat or an attempted soul eating
not fun for him either way tbh
I think Harlequins can do that?
No
Oh ok
Warp predators do it all the time
Better hope you don’t dream of buzzing bees
if warp critters can do it, then slaaanesh and pals sure can.
Good thing Jurgen's blank ass showed up in time
Yeah
Can anyone point me towards some custodes books? I’m just getting into the tabletop and they’re who I’m collecting-they seem pretty dope and I wanna read up on them
Emperor’s Legion and Regent’s Shadow
Those are the two main ones, there’s also books which heavily feature Custodes like Gate of Bones and Vaults of Terra
Do heavy thunder hammers exist in the heresy or is that a deathwatch exclusive thing
There's heavy chainswords
Never mentioned anywhere else, but not sure if there is anything saying they didn't exist before (Just never really mentioned)
They probably do I just don't think people wanna waste money on getting a whole deathwatch kit just for the heavy thunder hammer
Also Horus heresy writers aren't thinking about all the flavors of thunder hammer in their writing
Honestly it’s prolly one of thousands of unspoken varients
The same way the heavy chain axe is
So upset they didn't include a mention of the umbra ferrox bolter in the latest book
Lol
Black templar dreadnoughts can get a heavy eviscerator chainfist
I wanna see a praetor dual wield that archaeotech pistol, would be cool
Well it depends on what the pistol fires. :p
“Archeotech” is just a general term for old tech. An archeotech pistol could be anything from an ancient plasma weapon to some Glock someone left lying around.
I'm thinking it's like a mechanicus weapon
Archeotech pistols can be good weapons but they can also be absolutely terrible
yeah
Insert scene here of space Marine fiddling with POS Saturday night special pistol.
They range from a Glock to like
Related
A revolver that fires explosive armor piercing bullets that has no recoil
Ah,
Rannick has an archeotech pistol
I thought that was a long barreled stub revolver
I mean
It goes straight through the person he shoots bounces off the floor then explodes
Which I want in the game.
That’s ammunition choice.
Also an archeotech weapon could be a stub weapon
I.E the archeotech pistols you see skitarii using
There’s 0 reason as to why Rannick couldn’t have something similar
Oh let’s not get into macrostubber bullshit
Is this from five nights at freddy’s
That pistol
Is an archeotech pistol lol
I don’t see any reason why Rannicks pistol wouldn’t be archeotech
Fair point, I just want long barrel stub revolver is all
Ye
*hand cannon
Archeotech is just a synonym for old. Any old piece of gear can be “archeotech.”
It is not indicative of power level.
Yeah
Archeotech can literally be a floppy disk drive lol
its the Archeotech from the dark age of technology that can be the super powered stuff as humanity had near godlike levels of tech at the time
true
Now granted this paint did cause a civil war
But it wasn’t because the paint was evil
It was because of a theological debate over it
its the imperium. they fight micro civil wars for paper
Yep
frankly i would have been shocked if that didnt happen
Even better it wasn’t even over the quality or something
It was because it was too efficient
humans in 40k are just space age cavemen
And it pissed off a lot of menials and tech priests
ofc
Because they would lose their jobs lol
for like all of 10 seconds then get put to work somewhere else
Yeah but you don’t get it their family has been doing it for generations
It’s a time honored tradition
But yeah a civil war broke out on several forge worlds and industrial worlds
Because the paint was too good at it’s job
also. please tell me the rite of rekindling is just a meme or at least it isnt as complex as the memes say
The rite for lighting a fire or igniting an engine
Or a forge
Because for an engine and lighting a fire it’s
Press the correct button while saying a few words
the memes say its for changing lightbulbs so that answers my question lol
Oh
Lmfao
That would prolly just be reciting turning it in the proper direction
While doing it lol
lol
makes sense honestly. again space age cavemen
Like the rite of turning on a vehicle is “strike the rune of ignition and recite the rite of ignition”
honestly i feel like the human brain entered into a state of apathy during the DAOT and that is why they are like they are in 40k
Most of the super complex rituals are for like repairs and large scale things
yeah
and tbf the memes dont make the rite out to be all that complex, just insanely complex for the stated task
I like to imagine they shoot plasma projectiles and the barrels glow blue like the mechanicus weapons do
No, it’s that 10 millenium of war means factories and other such locations have a bad tendency to suddenly suffer from a failure of existence
Kinda rapid fire
I mean look at how much was lost when the chinese cultural revolution happened
that would not have the effect on the human mind we see in 40k. they have lost so much of their understanding and comprehension. simple war and lose of tech cant do that
Part of it is the fact that you don’t have the time to relearn that kinda stuff
Try creating a toaster that functions from base materials.
Without buying components
There’s a great video on this
that isnt what is happening here, even if i could make the toaster i would not assume its magic
Ever read “a canticle for lebowitz?”
I mean part of it is also that magic is real in 40k...
the fact they use canticles and hymns to learn and memorize how to use and maintain their devices shows their lack of understanding
Not all machines have a machine spirit thats gona be pissed off if you don't sing to it
like a lasgun won't do that
But you don’t know what you don’t know, so it’s better to not risk it.
Honestly you could just interpret 90% of mechanicum ritual as the most Gothic mnemonic device possible
but do that to a titan and you might get a temper tantrum
I mean the admech have a good idea, thats why there's simple rituals for a lot of things
and no simple rituals for other things
titans
ships
ect.
i do. and that again is part of my point. when humans dont understand how something works we default to mysticism and occult/religion reverence and terminology
You can learn anything if you set it to music, that's why there's so many educational kids songs. That's probably how you learned the alphabet. Using music to learn, including religious music, is a very basic learning tool that's still used today
This video is really good for this topic

Perhaps there...
Exactly my point. In a universe of constant conflict do you want to risk it
Idk I don't think this is the server to confront reddit atheist takes
PancreasNoWork my beloved
wut
Mostly talking about Nameless being like "people are only religious about things they don't understand"
i mean. its not an atheist take its literally just a fact of human psychology
no i said its the default
hell even even do it irl today
Pancreasnowork my beloved
dont tell me you havent tried to talk to your PC when it isnt working quite right
(I might be a bit too biased towards the admech here since I do occasionally pray and make offerings to my machines lol)
Righty tighty, lefty loosy come to mind?
I have straight up prayed for my code to work before
and its worked(for some god forsaken reason)
Try mod load orders
Oh yeah no the machines definitely hear you and appreciate you
My truck loves me so she keeps going strong ❤️
or god blessed maybe
Praise Blake…

What of Blood and Dark Angels M
?
How so?
Dark Angels are loyal unironically
Same with the blood angels
He's both, and he's bad at it
Might as well mention every loyalist. All bitterly and steadfastly loyal
Which song?
As for why you keep chaos hush, hush to the primarchs? Well, many would damn themselves simply trying to know more
Serve
I was referring to the specialty he mentioned
Ah
Dark Agels are good at everything since they were the first they had no other choice
I wouldn't say it's their primary specialty, one of a few secondary ones, sure.
They specialised in slowly, yet methodically purging unsanctioned texts/knowledge and replacing it the imperial creed
I was thinking about their function of eliminating all traces of something. Ironically this might have led to the Fallen problem, and that's brilliant
Dark Angels are really good at terminator assaults
And plasma
They’re also good with bikes
Indeed, Neoth made a huge mistake, just like his son
????
Magnus is a great traitor primarch since he started out non-malicious, just stupid as shit
If someone tells you not to open a door that only you have the key to, and refuses to tell you why and then proceed yell at you for having the key. You would probably want to open the door lamo
I've come around to Perturabo but he still has a stupid reason for falling to Chaos
And can see a rift at every waking moment
And told Magnus don’t do it
This is only asking for trouble
"Oh no I'm sad and scared because I murdered my own family and also a couple million randos, but maybe my brother will forgive me"
Out of all the chaos shitting you do, I gotta agree with this lmao
Yeah his reason for falling was dumb
‘Join chaos specifically to fuck everyone else over and then proceeded to rage quit’
I actually like all the traitor primarchs, I just don't like daemons
Night Lords and EC have some cool stuff going on
Can’t wait fie EC codex where the stupid parts of their lore are fixed
2/3rds amazing, mwah
1/3rd so fuckinh STUpid
Depending on what they do with Vashtorr I might actually get into Chaos
And Belakor tbh
In AOS Belakor is fun because all he does is follow archeon and laugh at him
Archeon loses a battle, Belakor wins that battle with twice as many loses
WHAT?
In 40k
He stole house ravens homeworld
And corrupted 99% of the knight house
Y e p
OOHHH YEAHHH I READ FHAT in the codexes
Half of them are in a fleet looking for the stolen home world
He wanted what was on it tbf
SKAVEn moments
Autek Mor moments
Fair, could drop it after XD
He just didn’t want Metallica interfering
Even tho they got their asses kicked anyways lol
XD
God I hope they change it to being more then just a single plague company
Because that makes no sense
Should have been more bcs
It just looks weird lol
Side note; fuck that gw made it so you can make either 40k Belakor or AOS Belakor with the kit, and then proceed to make the kid have like no contact points for the body
Like it would look weird in one of the other
Wait really?
Yeah
You can put either chains with AOS stuff attached or chains with 40k stuff attached
Bruh, bit lazy tbh
Tbh I love belakor’s new mini
Me too but also my Belakor fell apart
What's the difference between the two? I just googled both of them and it looks like the same mini?
The 40k one has a dead primaris LT. And a space marine helmet
Also the dead guy
Is optional
Always love to see a new Primaris LT model
For both of them
And if you don’t put the dead guy on it, it leaves 2 wierd pegs
A few wierd pegs
Actually those might be pebbles
Im@stupid those are rocks
Not a huge problem, can be easily cleaned up regardless
Yeah they’re rocks
I gotta rebuild my Belakor but I don’t have a SOD army and I hate 40k demons lmao
So legsakor he will stay
And LOTFP was removed
LOTFP being removed is still weird
3000 points of demons wasted
I was expecting it to be shoved in SOD but apparently not. I heard somewhere the AOS guys are trying murder soup armies
Because they are hard to balance
Deaths soup specially army was murdered, and cities is still in the shadow realm of 2nd edition
True
And slaanesh’s soup army is still in 2nd but idk if it still works with the new SoD
It’s SoD Slaanesh demons and Hedonites in one army.
I have no fuckinh clue how it plays lmao
It’s called The Host of Syll’Esske btw
You need to have the same number of mortals and demons, 1/4 is demons, 1/4 if soul grinders, 1/4 is HoS, and 1/4 is SoD
It’s really weird but if you have 12+ models you get d6 extra command points lmao
And you get an extra depravity point if a model gets a kill in 6 inches of the opposite species
OH YEAH storm casts have soup don’t they?
soup?
With cities I think? Like they could take 25% of their amry with cities if they were. A garrison
Multiple different armies in one
ahh
What was meant to be the Blood Angels specialty
I was also asking about the dark angels
Ohhh, dark angels is probably combined arms and blood angels probably close quarters. Majority of all of legions were just meant for war lmao, but a few like word bearers ultra marines are more for non militaristic uses
And or dark angels could be good at hunting down people/traitors with their obsession with fallen as evidence
BTEC inquisitors
Yeah lol
There’s probably something better for blood angels but I actually never read any blood angels lore on my life
Everything I know for them is based off podcasts
Oh yeah night lords are less for war and more for terrorism
I havent read into much of the lore at all
but just from playing Mechanicus, I know admech is my favorite faction
I got into 40k from a video by bricky, He goes over every faction pretty quickly
It’s only 2 hours of content but it’s always good to find a faction you like and learn all their lore
I’m a lunatic and learned like 80% of chaos lore
but the moment I settled on admech is when I was playing mechanicus and I got an upgrade for one of the priests (I was making him more ranged, bought legs for added repositioning)
and then this guy became a FUCKING SPIDER
que me laughing in awe at the sheer coolness
Admech are great! Just don’t play their table top right now Lmao
I hear they're either a strange or underpowered army on tabletop
They still literally don’t work, they are just a data sheet army
They used to be busted because their gimmick is with their stratagems, but then their stratagems got hella nerfed and they are still trying to recover to this day
it’s also probably worth finding a space marine legion you like so you can get new content for your faction more then twice every 3 years
out of the chapters, it feels like salamanders are tailor made for me
fire weapons, green and literally the best of the chapters to encounter as a civvie
Blood Angels were made to be 1st wave of attack. They would drop them and secure the are for rest of the forces. Thats why they are faster to make. So they are able to reinforce quickly after high losses of the initial attack.
Think this guy looks familiar? He kicked off the entire Space Marines range, which has gone from strength to strength!
Don't forget to like, share and subscribe and to ring the bell to make sure you keep up to date with all our latest videos!
‘Space marines hand beaky helmets since the horus heresy (picture of HH marines) to modern day (picture of space marines that contains zero beaky helmets)’
Blood Angels were originally what World Eaters became lmao
tbf i find the first model of marine cooler than most modern marines lol
In the great work novel you get to see a tech priest that’s a brain inside of jar, the jar is inside a spider tank.
that is rad
love me admech
I'm just happy White Consuls are finally getting a dedicated character
On the tabletop
Captain Vitrian Messinius of the White Consuls. Lord Lieutenant of the Indomitus Crusades
Did we need more SM dedicated characters ?
Black Library decided yes
It's one of the ones where GW let BL pick a character to make for the tabletop
At least it's a good character from a successor chapter, not more ultra smurf
The White Consuls is a Loyalist Second Founding Successor Chapter of the Ultramarines
I already knew it before even having to check
Ultramarine successor is just as close as Ultramarine
i love that in mechanicus your tech priests start out fairly weak and by the end can wipe a whole room of necrons in a single turn lol
Sounds of Skitaari Cohorts dying outside the tomb so that we can play Mechanicus Jones and the Necrodermis Skull
Aye, but the troop caller that can just up and teleport troops right next to the Necron Lord
dropping a kestelian behind the overlord was fun ngl
I just hope that they make Mechanicus 2 with 3 factions (Admech, Tau and Necron)
And they go with a higher size, letting you have some small to medium vehicle
We don’t need anything
It doesn’t hurt anyone to have one model for a chapter
We could use more Non SM models
And we’re getting them
Us getting this dude doesn’t mean we’re not getting a model for a different faction
It doesn’t work that way, if anything it’s the opposite
But importantly. It is not Ultramarines, they're cooler
This dude will probably end up making more money and paying for lots of other models from other factions which may not sell as well
Also the White Consuls are a pretty distinct chapter which are pretty cool
They're like Salamanders mixed with Ultramarines, big focus on being leaders of humanity
They used to be part of a group which defended the Eye
They had some similar chapters in the black and white consuls among a lot of others
Most are MIA or destroyed by now
Yep, despite being in the other side of the Galaxy from it, and had two chapter masters to command things from afar and at home
It's okay they've been hyper inflated by Cawl's Primaris now
To make up for losing their chapter's homeworld to Nurglings
It’s an celebration mini so it doesn’t effect release schedules so yes
Those minis are usually made a while ago
so are the TAU the good guys?
define good
Less evil then the imperium
Yes
Not evil no
There is no good faction in 40k
Everyone is out for themselves
The Tau are an Authoritarian/oligarchic society that practice eugenics on themselves
24/7 propaganda
Also they have a caste system
Which is highly restrictive
Also they’re highly imperialistic grabbing just about anything they can take and hold
Do they commit mass genocide like the Imperium, no
But they’re a much closer to our modern day evil then any other 40k faction
The tau are the most apparent good
I mean for it not being awful to live under them yeah
The averaging living standard in the tau empire is better then the imperium
There are no truly good factions in 40k
For the big ones
Also the Tau have “re education” camps
and are a caste system
I already mentioned that
Along with the eugenics they do on themselves
Ironicially it’s prolly less awful to live as a human
Under the tau empire
Then as a Tau
The tau are also messing around with warp drives which is a GREAT idea
Which definitely won’t backfire
It can go even worse.
I go with more chicoms than CIA.
Hey Wolf do u know why Black Legion Terminator got tusks?
Chaos drip, mutations on armor
Mainly because CIA doesn’t do as much of their institutional capture behavior like the Chicoms do.
Eh true
Unfortunately
Thx
But this is IRL history and not the depths of lore
The new chaos codex also says your armor literally reads your minds and re-alligns/creates drip accordingly
which is neat
Doesn't Chaos Armour in Fantasy do that too
Thats epic

Very mad that outside of winter assault there isn't much warhammer stuff set in the winter
Fall of cadia

It was technically during winter
Real shame the global fucking firestorm melted everything
What I think is meant is the lack of snow
See: Anything on Fenris
Cadia has a lot of enviroments
Ever read up on the one from the 20’s and 30’s?
One of the terrifying things of it was that there was a ridiculous amount of static electricity
I'm just saying a snowy battlefield with necrons dusted in snow marching across a tundra is cool as fuck
Ye
That it is
Same with snowy patterned tanks of all types not just IG like eldar tanks and tau stuff
Snowy camo battlesuits
Same with wraithguard, like they're frozen over trees
I kinda want a deserts of kharak inspired similar thing for guard.
Like tanks with WIIIIIIIIIDE tracks
And puffy wheels
Forge World guard vs eldar
doom of mymeara
Ciaphas Cain's stuff with Valhallans
I'm talking more as a style thing but that's always cool
What I mean by this is having a set of custom “environmental retrofit” sets for imperial vehicles
Are Forge World guard special or just form the Mechanicum?
I think he meant Forge Wold Mini Guards
I meant Forge World the company
As in anything other than Cadia and Catachan
it was...cadians and elysians vs Eldar
Oh upps
i guess you wont live long being a good guy in the 40k universe
Once i get discount ticket filled in nearest game store, im getting knight or a combat patrol
hey is the dark imperium plague war book any good fellas?
Ive read one part of it. Its decent at least for ultra smurf story
thanks
I’ve read the series. Quite good.
It has some great scenes.
Is there something like a mimic in 40k? Similar to lets say the elden ring mimic boss, that just fully imitates the player/ a someone
Callidus assassins?
There’s certain slaanesh Magic’s that basically disguise the user as the most beautiful person the target(s) have ever seen
Callidus assassins use a substance called “Polymorphine” that allow them to drastically alter their shape and such. Though usually they stay human.
Nono i mean literally copy 1:1 the same person it encounters so to speak. Not like a hypothetical other person.
The changeling.
A daemon of tzeentch.
It’s also well within tzeentch to create daemons capable of that.
One slaanesh worshiper used it on Ciaphas and his retinue, which disguised it as Cain’s lover, amberly vale, only for jurgen to reveal the witch beneath…leading to a legendary one liner
Just randomly fantasized about a boss in darktide that would just be mimic copies of the squad team you went in with as some sort of pseudo pvp but pve so i wondered if something like that is in 40k
That kind of shape changing is the purview of tzeentch.
Pretty much
Given that his creatures can appear and alter forms it’s perfectly reasonable that a daemon of his or agent of his could.
Granted at a certain point why would you
With tzeentch and his focus on ranged, I’d imagine he’s going to use traps
Like the kind you’re going to have to think outside the box with
Some advice, read from the wise words of Clint smith, specifically on stairwells
Tzeentch chaos followers aren’t even bad at melee
It’s their daemons that are
A tzaangor would prolly chop a guardsmen to pieces in cqb
That’s the point I’m making, it’s a blue horror
Just realized how easy it is to apply the seven deadly sins to imperiums enemies.
Pride - eldar
Greed - orks
Lust - slaanesh
Envy - ?
Gluttony - Nurgle
Wrath - Khorne
Sloth - necrons
Which faction could fit envy? Wanted to think tzeentch to have them all in but idk
Tau, because they wish they were the bigger fish in the pond
^
literally the only thing enviable about the imperium is it's size and relative power
Gluttony would be nids imo
Would work too, true
We don't have a beastmen equivalent army to fit envy
Sloth also fits nurgle tbh
Envy at the fact that GW forgets they exist every time
salaanesh's realm has 6 of the 7 deadly sins as its rings
also envy FOR THE GREAT HORNED RAT
took hwo many years to get a new beast lord model that still looks like its resin lmao
Tau
It's pretty shoddy
Guy Haley writes a basic paint by numbers 40k story that veers into literally just a primaris toy catalogue at times
There's no art to Haley stories but they're just...there
Devastation of Baal was pretty good.
Haley does plenty of good or good enough books tbh, Dark Imperium and the like had issues but there’s good moments
He also wrote Flesh and Steel which was fantastic imo.
The fact that he has to crank them out in like a month doesn’t help
I love the warhammer crime stuff.
You can definitely tell when he’s more invested in a book I think
But his Dark Imperium books I think served their purpose fine
Sandy Mitchel and Chris Wraight are my top two authors.
I need a good raven guard audiobook, any suggestions?
The audio dramas is probably the least interesting audio dramas I’ve ver heard Lmao
Speaking of books, are there any books that feature psykers? 👀
Witchbringer is a brand new one that has it
Sweet thanks
np
So if the inquisition breaks, will the imperium survive?
No, but Humanity still might
The Imperium as it currently is would not survive without the Inquisition
Now is it a good or a bad thing that is to you to decide
Local forces would still be rooting out aliens and heresy when possible.
But without the inquisition directing that would probably be much less effective.
Yes
As the series goes on he definitely is
Now when that happens fully is a matter of opinion
He's definitely a Radical. But I think there's a debate to be had on if he's a Heretic.
But by the end and by the newer books he’s corrupted
He’s openly working with a Daemonhost, traitor legions, he shows signs of corruption, he’s completely on his own, he uses chaos instruments.
The point of Quixos in book 2 is it shows the path he’s going down
That’s what is meant by radical
The radical vs puritan spectrum more refers to means rather than ends
If what Eisenhorn does isn’t heresy, then the word has no meaning
- Daemonhosts arent always a sign of being a Heretic. An Extreme Xanthite for sure.
- He was working with an Alpha Legionarie....Which....You know. Is Schrodingers Heretic.
Puritans focus on following traditional “safe” means to achieve goals.
And having a relationship with a daemon like Churbael, openly working with a traitor legion marine, using countless chaos artifacts, and appearing noticeably corrupted to your friends. If the word heretic means anything, Eisenhorn fits it
If we saw a character doing what he did and it wasn’t Eisenhorn who we like because we’ve seen his perspective, you’d think he’s a heretic
Just because he’s a heretic doesn’t mean he isn’t still trying to do good
But he’s lost still
And probably can’t ever come back
I'll point out once again that newer lore from the H.H. books calls into Question just how Traitorous the Alpha Legion are.
He’s far beyond any radical we’ve seen ever that I can recall who wasn’t also just considered a heretic
It doesn’t
And that most everything else you brought up is also something plenty of radical inquisitors do.
He’s the Walter white of the inquisition, at what point he becomes a heretic is a interesting question
Yeah I think it arguably doesn’t even happen during the original trilogy
...... Cherubael is very charismatic.
But by the Magos/Bequin books he’s definitely too far gone
Sorta, but the point is still that as much as you can see what he’s done and it really does come across as justified, he’s still damned.
It’s the point of the series arguably, and Ravenor is an example of someone who almost ended up falling that far but didn’t
It’s as I’ve said, ends vs means
I'll point out that Eisenhorns relationship with Cherubael is possible because Cherubael is exceptionally intelligent and charismatic and for some insane reason has had a soft spot for Gregor. He's not at all the usual sort of Daemon.
This isn’t the argument for Eisenhorn you think it is
Ravenor got exceptionally chummy with the Eldar to the point of calling one, "My Lord Seer." XD
He has literally no room to talk.
And tbh daemons being charismatic is pretty common
Diplomacy with Eldar isn't as bad as what ever Eisenhorn is doing
Yes and that’s not near as bad as being friends with a daemon
Guilliman talks respectfully to Eldrad
True. But Cherubael comes across more as a person than most Daemons have ever been portrayed.
Tons of Xenos inquisitors have dealings with Xenos
Once again, this is not a good argument for Eisenhorn
It’s actually worse
Since he’s the one allowing Cherubael the freedom to act that way
Cherubael is thrice warded and if memory serves had Euncia used on him to make him even more compliant.
And by Bequin we see he’s been let off his leash even more
Probably because Enuncia.
No, because Ravenor notices it and Eisenhorn being more chummy, like dude
The book literally spells this stuff out for you
It’s the point of the series
It's also taking place from Ravenors point of view who does view his old Master as a Heretic.
Yes because he is
You do realize Ravenor is probably the most charitable opinion on Eisenhorn in the Imperium right?
Because Ravenor thinks it.
He desperately does not want Eisenhorn to be a heretic
I would hope Ravenor had a positive opinion of himself. XD
If Ravenor thinks it, then he’s definitely too far gone
Ravenor arguably swung back hard to being a Puritan.
He gives Eisenhorn a shitton of chances but by the Bequin books he’s willing to have to kill him
He didn’t, we see him still have relationships with Craftworld Leadership
He’s definitely still a radical
At least by Ordo Xenos standards
Radical in some ways, Puritan in others.
This sounds like some copium ngl
And I was referring to his series.
Which sort of felt like the opposite of Eisenhorns.
Heresy is relative, but for the grand Inquisition Eisenhorn is very much a Heretic
If Eisenhorn isn’t a heretic, then nobody ever is
He literally says himself he’s become as he saw Quixos to be
I'll admit some of this is devil's advocate.
My personal opinion is that he's probably dancing on the thin strand of a piano wire between an extreme radical and a Heretic.
He's so damn close to falling, swaying this way and that, that it's damnably hard to argue.
I think he’s a heretic but that doesn’t mean he’s fully gone, but he definitely is borderline
And he probably can’t keep himself from falling
What is heresy
Well he's not that bad. Quixos's plans were utterly insane.
Quixos instigated the Thracian Atrocity to retrieve a single Alpha+ Psyker.
And who knows how many other instances to assemble his collection all to power a single pylon.
And if that one worked he'd keep doing it until he had enough to enact his full plan.
And it's heavily implied that the activation of a single Pylon would wreck at the very least a continent and more likely the entire planet and then some.
And Quixos knew all of this and didn't give a flying fuck.
The difference between Eisenhorn and Quixos is that while both are willing to bend or break the rules, Quixos had a, 'The Ends Justify the Means' mentality that Eisenhorn lacks.
So far Eisenhorn hasn't instigated even a single Thracian Atrocity as a mere 'Part 1, of Phase 0 of my cunning plan!'
Eisenhorn has definitely done really shady shit in pursuit of his goals, but nothing to the scale of Quixos.
Eisenhorn also has a ends justify the means mentality, sure it’s not the scale of Quixos yet that we’ve seen but my point being, he himself sees Quixos in himself
Like this stuff is all but spelled out
Hi general question, been reading about ogryns recently, are our ogryns boneheads?
I'll point out that Eisenhorn says that because as his series demonstrates he has a lot of self doubt and fear.
Only one is officially one though
Dude like, I feel like even if Abnett wrote a blog saying he’s this you still wouldn’t believe it
Idk what else to tell you
It’s pretty clear in the books what’s intended
Only Bardgryns a bone head. The others aren't. There's even lines from one of the others talking about wishing he has the procedure done and the other saying that he (personally.) Doesn't need it.
He’s not as far gone as he could be, but he’s definitely far gone
Oh that's cool! I haven't heard that line yet but rare to get multiple ogryns in a group haha
Small drop ship and all
I'll be back. Been wanting to go on a four mile run before getting caught up in this discussion. XD
The idiocy or Ogryn are also exaggerated in the lore often times
I mean, if it’s what we see in most examples, then it’s just kind of how they act
The majority of appearances I can think of in books or codexes do not have them near as smart as the ones we see in this game
The exception being an Ogryn Psyker who was explicitly supposed to be insanely intelligent and was an oddity for it
Well most people say they have an intelligence level of 5 years olds, previous lore I would put to at least 12, like they know what they are doing a lot of the time but they are very emotional.
Ours are a bit smarter, supposedly they are also a bit older, having been part of the Guard before
Seems that there is a female SM discussion in general if you wanna jump in
oh god
Emperor ballin but at what cost
My sanity for starters
Anyway, guys, important question time
Are barrel-magazine bolters cursed or not cursed.
Discuss.

I see no issue here.
The important thing is I’m right and everyone else is wrong
Unless they agreed with me
Then they’re kinda right but I’m still more right
damn
Super cursed, and since it is me saying so it is absolute truth, and everyone that doesn't agree don't know shit about the subject
Tbh, I like the look
But I accept it makes no fucking sense
The bullet gets to the chamber by faith.
That would be true if it was ork weaponry
But eh, faith powers are just human waaagh energy, so beat me
quietly sneaks into the right server
Yes, but it’s understandable if it’s a exclusively Gyrojet bolter with no kicker charge
Or a PPS43 type setup https://gun.deals/sites/default/files/xxaaetqyrwutr1546aetrwy4aet69750785bcxhbgrw.jpg
At least the chamber's still over the magazine with the PPS43.
I agree, I’m more saying the extremely long travel distance
The reason Setups like this pps43 are like they are is because they have their bolts not be a telescopic design
What a telescopic bolt let’s you reduce the size while maintaining the weight for a blowback open bolt smg to safely operate
This bad quality image of a UZI bolt is a example of a telescopic bolt
Basically having the chamber behind most of the weight instead of at the very front
So... Moebian 6th are able to summon Beasts of Nurgle and bind daemon hosts. That makes them one of the more competent, spooky traitor guard regiments there is
The summonings are most likely the Cult of the Admonition's doing
the Moebians are probably just offering the extra muscle seeing as they worship the same chaos god
A hellish mix of the cult's esoteric capabilities mixed with the professionalism and tactics of a traitor guard regiment
Might be due to the Xenos Chaos worshipper knowledge
Traitor guard are unique in that you can see a wide variety of discipline levels in them, and generally like with CSM, you tend to have a lot more greybeards in their armies
Still, the ability to bind and summon daemons is a big deal. CSM like the Thousand Sons struggle with that sometimes, as do radical inquisitors. And they normally have many more resources
Whatever is happening to the second hive city and what is going on deeper within the underhive is spooky
So has anyone made a Leagues of Votann army after DRG?
Afaik they were made even before release as concept
Like, for colour palette
What happens if a normal human or a space marine drinks the gene soup from one of those tyranid spawning or digestion pools?
Like, do they turn into some horrid monstrosity or just barf it out?
Because I cannot find an answer to this. There must be some fucked up guy out there in the Imperium who got close to drinking some bug juice
Realistically speaking probably just convulse/puke/die
that digestive pool has tyranid micro-organisms and god knows what else in it
I imagine a tyranid just popping out of a person, Alien style
They are digesting pools, they would digeste the person that drink it i guess
Aren't digesting pools and the spawning ones different or it's just a catch all pool for everything? I know the genestealers go to the spawning pool to die.
Nvm it's the same thing, just checked on lexicanum
"The pools are then harvested by hive ships which enter low orbit and pump the gene-rich biological soup on board via Capillary Towers."
.....I WANT THE SPACE BUG SOUP
There are no spawning pools lol
Then make it yourself, take this hammer 🔨 and go pulp some of those bugs
Go to space china then
Go get space covid
That's just the Imperium
Lmfao
-Has a god emperor
- massive population with little care for citizens wellbeing
-stupidly complex burecratic system - language is divided into a 'low' simplified and a 'high' traditional one
- rich and diverse culture
- very unequal
-Constantly fighting itself and has the deadliest civil wars.
-Constantly fights neighbors - somehow very religious but also atheistic
- Constantly has had problems with said religion in the past
It’s funny because it’s true
Also
- has a neighbor with a caste system
Also has an isolationist neighbor who doesn’t like them very much
Omfg Gulliman is literally a gamer
In Corax Gulliman is amazing at a ‘training simulation’ he calls a game that’s basically fps civ game
The most amount of times he was beaten was 3 by Corax
At a score of 3-20
Gulliman literally calls it a toy Lmao
Funnily enough I think Gulliman lost the first 3 games
And won every single one after
Yeah because Corax used his strategy of ‘ha ha assassins go burrrr’
It literally caused Gulliman to consider using a similar strategy in his legion
The moritat, they weren't exactly assassin only though
Tbh guilliman is good at taking other peoples ideas and using them
Didn’t one of his marines literally tell Gulliman ‘our job is to do what everyone else does but better’
The point of the exercise was Guilliman learned how to adapt extremely fast and then Corax couldn’t beat him. He could win battles but never the war ultimately.
Which is pretty indicative of how Guilliman operates
Also add
- Executing its own citizens
- Re-education camps
- Propaganda
- Starving its own citizens
- Cannibalism

Cannibalism Ironicially isn’t widespread
In the imperium
It’s only in shitholes
(The places we always see)
- mass censorship
- SP
- political incompetence
Ah so 70% of the imperium
*99%
But unironically corpse starch usually isn’t like
Human meat
It’s grown with human compost
It’s pretty rare it’s actual human meat
But it happens
It’s so weird that humans eat eldar
Necromunda kekw
WHAT
Yeah
i dont remember reading that anywhere
Pretty sure that isn't true
- wiat was that cannon or fan fic
Humans can eat squig
^
literally
If eldar fight
No they do
PDFs usually get slaughtered lol
IN FULGRIM
Eldar was served as a meal lmao
oh god lmao
yeee
A good indicator lol

or rocks
Is on the menu
Yea lamo
Ferrus munching on SAND
It helps with digestion
For birds lmao

but yeah necromunda also has like
literal shops
where you can take corpses you found
and sell them for food
lmao
or just money
Lazy corpse grinder cult?
its awful yeah
Even worse then normal
That wouldn’t be allowed
Now mystery meat stew
That’s on the menu
Lord Helmawr's public announcements literally encourage gang wars and congratulates them on it lmao
what is this
San Andreas?
Warhammer crime is great
Oh yeah honestly they are good stock for the military that way
Since there’s a Nobel who runs a corpse starch like
no like, its not even military
Like the necromunda spiders
Production line lol
yeee
He only eats corpse starch
you'd die really quickly from eating any sort of human meat, re-processed or not
so rip
oh lmAo that’s hilarious
It’s just flavored better
Yeah
where he serves high-society guests meat rolls
Like roasted grox
What the fuck are the guys in necromunda who literally suck the water out of people?
And fresh fish
the water guild
Yeah
Water guild
aka Water Cartel's gigachad cousin
Lmao it’s so@dumb I love it
If you have ever played mars:war logs or the technomancer game you know how that work
It’s also not human meat tbf
oof
I shouldnt read this while eating a banana

It’s very public advertising
Zombies as well lol
Munda just has everything
I think the only thing keeping the cults down is literally the mass violence
Necromunda is such a good setting
Necromunda is Compton/Detroit in space basically last I checked
Necromunda makes Cambodia under pol pot look like it has a good infant mortality rate
Fair
Yeah i wouldnt normally push it but they can literally spread their genestealer infection through any means it doesnt even have ot be physical
its why they are so broken OP
I’m excited for the guard combat patrol box so I can covert it all to brood brothers
LMAO
Based
the Dorn would look great as a GSC tank too ngl
That’s a problem of “how easy can they swipe it”
A couple lemans get lost? No one bats an eye
Guard stuff in gsc can’t get the funny point buffs right?
Like the ‘ha ha suddenly CAR’
I can’t remember what it’s called uHhhhh
Oh yeah fucking scare the opponent with a quarter of my army of pure gun
And then lose it next turn
Guard stuff in gsc can take upgrades iirc
Still cheaper then a normal gsc army
WHAT
You can take sponsons and stuff
CAN I FUCKING DEEPSTRIKE A BANE BLADE?
“CREEEEEEEED!”
Sorry
think the gsc deepstrike upgrades are for non vehicles
Nah. Can't use any cult creeds, abilities, or strategems on brood Brothers. Also think we are point capped at 1/4 of the army now.
Ah I got the deep strike and a trap sprung mixed up
It wasn’t deep strike it was a better charge
Damn it would be so funny
Ah okay, i thoguht it was no relics or warlord traits
Was only no*
Still gonna do it, and it’s gonna be named something stupid edgy like ‘the star’s light’ or something
It’s been 1/4th since 8e right
Or am I insane
Poggers
A baneblade is cheaper then 430 points of gsc
In theory gangs from any of the houses have already been turned into GSC, i think there is mention of one based o a Goliath gang
I know for sure of those two, know that cawdor are fighting against GSC for control of a hive and delanque are doing something shady too... Never heard anything about other houses like Van Saar or goliath, both would be hard to infect without someone noticing
