(The exception is Felicia Tayber, my beloved)
lol
Well younger tech priests usually don’t have the extreme body mods yet.
they lost armor of contempt 😉
Young is relative by 40k standards.
i'm not sad either but I play guard of course i'm not
lmao
Biologis Tech Priests pretty sure go in more for biotech then hard cybernetics.
they do a lot of the time
But yeah. I swear to fucking god if the Interrogator is strictly for straight chicks I'mma fuckin scream. Dx
Although a gay tech priest would be nice too.
The mods are more a status than age thing, a tech priest can just not rise through the ranks for centuries and remain relatively unmodified
It's just that the big bois are always ancient as shit so age and status seem correlated
I hope you can romance multiple characters too
There’s that and the fact we don’t know how long he’s been a magos.
I need to play out my interstellar Sapphic harem power fantasy
A senior magos won’t even be recognizable as having a human anatomy.
I just want to be able to dress like victorian snake plissken and i'll be happy with rogue trader
Yeah I wish you could customize your characters appearance more
Since it’s 40k I’m hoping there isn’t a good or evil path. The kind of stuff a loyal RT does vs a more radical one.
But I usually play gingers anyway so ig I'm OK with the female rogue trader
As far as I can tell a major part of the story is going to be gaining the trust of the interrogator, but it'd be nice if it let's you play super heretical but able to convince him you aren't lol
I'd imagine there is some kind of "morality" but I hope it's kind of flexible
There will be a morality system but I don’t want a noble bright option in a 40k game.
Like I said. I'm just worried that gay guys are gonna be thrown under the bus.
Owlcat's Pathfinder games gave players kinda scant romance options compared to everyone else.
Noble bright is fine in a Star Wars game. I don’t want it in a 40k game.
Eh Rogue Traders are bit more colorful and fun so I wouldn't mind if you could play out a pulpy, heroic dude
the morality system is Radical vs orthodox
is the system
Right and orthodox imperium is definitely not “good.”
Kingmaker was also based off an adventure that didn't have any romance in it
The only real sexual expression in Pathfinder is that the gods are mostly queer and 2 of them are explicitly patrons of kink, other than that it tries to be a bit tame on romance because nothing is more awkward than role-playing a date with your DM
I'm assuming that the romance isn't gona be that indepth ngl
That'd be shocking. xD
but Owlcat has always been pretty light
but eh we'll see
this is completely original
You can't draw a navigator like that and not let the player boink her
its not built from any existing campaigns
There'd be riots
Even Disco Elysium had you being able to explore your feelings with Homo-Sexual Underground. :p
You probably don't want to.
Honestly that's going to be my fear with rpgs going forward. I worry everyone will want a "I want to make fuck with you" moment
Eh, would prefer just actual well written romance stuff.
Same
I'd settle for linear story for each romanceable character if its decent and fairly long
I just don't like "15 minutes of game play, you do a sex and unlock a new voiceline"
Those are generally only if your gay. :V
Straights get like an hour plus of unique dialogue and quests and stuff. :V
Apparently the interrogator is romanceable, not locked by gender, the admech isn't
So gay guys are shit out of luck but I can get my Sapphic harem of galactic conquest
How are gay guys shit out of luck when you said the Interrogator is romanceable by either m or f?
Though can't parse out what you mean by the AdMech guy. xD
@gaunt sable 3 men on the ship, one is romanceable and one is not, whether the last one is isn't released yet
Where you getting the info btw? Would love to read and share it.
Although watch as every female companion IS romanceable. (Or at least almost all of them.)
Just digging through the steam page
Yeah, that's what it's looking like rn, minus the sister
Their letting you romance the Eldar? Fucking knew it. xD
Bitches love elves
Can't upset the straight guys who wanna romance hot wimmenz. xD
Seriously, literally every female companion is designed to ooze sex appeal. 9_9
I can almost guarantee the navigators character design was made by a lesbian
Probably, but I've seen a lot of straight guys simp for her.
The male gaze is not drawn towards cold, unfeeling and slightly damp skin or bulging veins
You underestimate men. xD
The level of guys going feral for Cassia, Argenta, Idira and Yrliet would be astounding if it weren't expected.
Meanwhile gay guys get one romance....Again.
Honestly the eldar romance is prolly gona be she isn't disgusted by your presence
And nothing more lol
since Humans are pretty much like dogs to them
feral dogs but
They don't want to kick the dog so to speak lol
Their adding in a romance and making it FORBIDDEN love because otherwise nerds would revolt over not being able to romance a hot red headed elf waifu. xD
Look me in the eye and tell me I'm wrong. xD
I will
Also
i don't see anything saying the eldar is romancable
I might be dumb tho
Based off stuff Tea was talking about.
yeah I don't see anything on the steam page
about it
and I didn't remember anything on the article they released of her
mentioning romance
I haven't found any hard romance stuff either but Tea claims of the three presented male characters only the Interrogator is romanceable and isn't gender locked.
Meanwhile of the FIVE female characters so far presented only one isn't romanceable.
Well I asked Tea for a source.
But it wouldn't surprise me if it were true.
odds are you can't romance the Psyker because ||you literally get the option to kill her very early in the story||
Owlcat's War of the Righteous game had a massive imbalance in regards to romances.
what is this?
I'm just going off the steam community, don't have an official release on hand
In War of the Righteous you had two romance options for straight female PC's, two option for gay male PC's, three options for lesbian PCs and four options for heterosexual male PC's.
I wouldn't trust the steam community
is this a fan 40k game?
Owlcat?
they got a license from GW to make this
they make a lot of adaptations of RPG campaigns
to a digital enviroment
what’s the game called?
Rogue Trader
It's based off the TTRPG Rogue Trader game by fantasy flight games.
oh this, i thought it was a card game. when i saw this in warhammer fest
imma add this to the list, since it’s warhammer and rpg lol
Hey Owlcat? Let me romance a tyranid, cowards
But yeah. Straights, especially straight guys are absolutely spoiled. I've gotten jaded over the years.
Because the only confirmed romancable stuff in their articles was the Interrigator
and the Navigator
lol
Man. I kinda wish I could make my Rogue Trader a Psyker. So you know. Psyker boyfriends.
that would be fun
Sadly probably won't happen. xD
And I still half expect Owlcat to pull the rug from underneath queer guys.
yeah
I'm a simple woman. Girl + Gun + abominable mutation = cute
unfortunately
Lesbians get a pass from straights because straight guys can and do fetishize lesbians.
💀
But gay guys? x-x;
Yeah, we get fucked.
I'm still salty at how Bioware treated it's gay/bi male audience with the Mass Effect series. Especially with all the queerbaiting.
ME1 had cut stuff for Kaiden + maleshep
so today, i got my horus heresy age of darkness set. Open the rule book, i see the galaxy. There is an actual planet called Baka
b-b-baka!
Took them three games to finally deliver any kind of male same sex romance and they did an absolute shit job of it.
Kaiden has the potential of being dead by ME3 due to a choice all the way back in ME1.
The other male same sex romance came off as creepy due to you being a rebound to a guys dead husband who died fighting Reapers or something.
There were other issues with how the romances were started, the criminal lack of romance dialogue compared to other romances. (With a lot of time wasted on verifying you wanted to date another guy.) And then fucking up the lighting and censoring everything including the kissing. xD
Then Adromeda doubled down on it by queerbaiting audiences with the promise of a companion romance. Then not following through and giving only a pair of NPC's who didn't even have unique faces like Companions.
Having the absolute shortest amount of unique romance dialogue, an even lazier romance scene with even more censoring that wouldn't be out of place in Austin Powers and a really dumb romance quest.
Meanwhile BioWare splurged on packing a romance cutscene that was almost literally softcore porn for the Straight Romances and added like 1-2 hours of unique romance dialogue.
Their battle fleet is actually pretty important in lore lol
They participated in the plague wars and first tyranic war lol
I would’ve remembered an important detail like that
you cannot save yourself from this knowledge
soul cries in agony
Call me when theres a planet named Bob. :V
it's usually the capital of the system
it's pretty much a high gothic term for 'first'
or primus
In reality it just mean the 1st planet (going away from the Star), with Earth being Solar 3
But in 40k I think it's the most populated/important planet of the system
another example is the Baal system with Baal being the main planet and it's moons are called Baal Primus and Baal Secundus
Question: during the Tyrannid attack on Baal, didn't a Bloodthrister massacre the remnants of the Hive Fleet after Guiliman arrived to make sure the Sons of Sanguinius died at his hands, or did that come before?
that's a real power move ngl
Kinda, he originally was gonna show up on like Baal Secundus where the Blood Angels monastery is, or which one it is I can’t get the moons and main planet straight in my head, but Mephiston and all the Blood Angels librarians managed to fuck with his attempt to return to realspace, making it so he could only come back for a limited time and instead he showed up on one of the lesser moons.
Where the Flesh Tearers and Knights of Blood where at to divert Nid forces to, so the fleet couldn’t just land all its forces on Secundus
He caused a bunch of both chapters to fall to the Rage immediately, but Gabriel Seth used a relic from Amit which had an aura which stabilized marines near it from the Black Rage, and the Flesh Tearers withdrew with major casualties
All the Knights of Blood died though charging Ka’Bandha to allow them to escape
And then he killed a shitton of Nids on the world and eventually ran out of time in realspace
So basically, he sorta assisted but it was just for one moon and it was because his materialization into realspace got fucked up
He was supposed to be able to stay in realspace indefinitely or for much longer
This probably somehow made him rage harder and be even angrier than he already was, if that’s possible
Ka'Banda pulled a "nobody fucking wipes out the Blood Angels but me!" card on the Tyranids
twas quite funny
Do Imperium of man tolerates Furries such as Felinids?
Not this again
If you are useful as a mutant/abhuman you will be tolerated.
If not, yeet.
Sounds good
Literally just look up the one bit of lore we have on felinids
It’s like one paragraph
Nah to much to read
if you are a stable abhuman strain, and not the result of xeno's tampering, yes.
So Hive Fleet Kronos really out there putting Chaos in its place is kinda funny
dark age humans tried a lot of things to adapt to some worlds
See also, the men of rock and stone.
To the bone!
so i wanna get this straight also- are the drukhari the webway eldar?
Yes
alright
Though most/all eldar have access to the Webway
i thought the webway eldar were something else
Just that Dark Eldar live in it
i mean the ones who lived in it
yknow if humans and elder were smart enough to put aside their differences, could the imperium use the webway?
The Clown Eldar ?
oh god them
The Emperor tried to invade/get access to the webway
Fabius has also used the webway
i mean, is there anything stopping humanity from using it if the eldar let us
Reading helsreach for the first time and I have to say... grimaldus is

Big if
It could be possible that the webway requires specially constructed ships - but I've not read anything that suggests it.
Humans cannot operate webway gates for starters
secondly harlequins
Thirdly most 99% of humanity trusts the Warp (this isnt a smart thing to do) more than an alien portal
Eldar letting human use the Webway would be like us letting not so friendly use our Aiports and stuff, but still being quite tense about it
Wasn't the purpose of the Golden Throne to sneak into the webway and hijack it for humanity, or in some way construct their own artificial version/segment of the webway
Not its sole purpose but a big part of it yeah
now that plan is entirely foiled
the moment the Emperor sealed the breach it was over
yEAP, thanks to He Who Did No Wrong
Magnus finding a way to make the worst possible decision for himself and his legion at every single turn
The Emperor trying to make the worst possible decisions for himself and to doom humanity at every single turn
with Eldar guide
otherwise it is impossible
Like, letting fucking proto imperial cultist prosper, or suggesting to use the name emperor of mankind
because it did works
they were fighting Daemons
Ork Mad Doc mixing any colourful fluid he can get his dirty mitts on to make a concoction that will kill or save another ork's life
BS, that is all i will say on the matter
The results speak for itself during the Siege
And like it or not it’s why the Imperium has lasted largely
The point of the siege up until like Warhawk is Dorn realizing that he can’t fight the war without fighting fire with fire
Sure, but it's not just give them a tour, guiding them in would let them learn how to use it more, and then when they turn against you then you have your secret/safe passage ways that turn against you
nah, don't worry about it
Imperium's tech don't know how to handle the webway
even the Emperor with all the resources He can muster, can only learnt a little about how to use the Webway
unless...you have Daemons or forbidden knoweldge
Which is why the Chaos can use the Webway more often
Still remain a major risk
Even the Eldar have issues traveling in the Webway now
A lot of it is collapsed and the old charts don’t work
Daemons roam it to some degree
It happened only on rare cases
Gothic War and Guilliman's return to Terra
both were critical moments in 40K history
if shit hit the fan, which faction would be most likely to come out on top?
Tyr or Necron
Or Chaos Gods, but not the any of the CSM
Chaos Space Marines
Like the Chaos Gods are now forces of natures, like winds, fire and stuff
So they can't really be beaten in the long run
Heck they are in multiple realities
And no, CSM aren't immortal
i rember hearing that the problem is even if csm die they just go back into the warp
No thats for Daemons
still think it'd be super cool if there was a CSM boss
And Daemonprinces
And also Exalthed Daemons, but they are nearly Daemon Princes so it make sense for them
Oh and the Dust Marines because of time shenanigan, but only for the Dusties, not the Sorcerers
also that reminds me, i've heard that if the golden throne failed and the seven hammers fell, that a good chunk of the resulting explosion would go through the palace warp rift and annihilate every daemon waiting to invade, including the 4 chaos gods
at least their avatars
not to mention most likely the resulting psychic scream from big e's death
There aren't any avatars of the Chaos Gods
as in their "physical" form within the warp
Like there are Daemons and Greater Daemons on the other side but for Chaos it would be nothing
They don't have one
huh, neat
like they are the Warp in itself
what abt nurgle's garden then?
ah ok
And if Terra explode the blow would create a second Eye of Terror
So net bonus for them
cuz i rember hearing abt the story of nurgle's son/grandson that fell of of nurgle's shoulder into the pot of perfect poison
isn't the talisman designed to prevent that
Talisman ? You mean the Throne ?
the talisman of seven hammers
Ku Gath
And not Ecludian spaces and stuff
i find it funny how hilariously wholesome that story is, at least how i've heard it
like how i've heatd it ku gath falls into nurgle's perfect poison and drinks it all and instead of being mad nurgle's just like "aw its ok bud don't worry about it" and now ku gath's trying to remake the poison for father nurgle
Ok went and read it, basically the Terminus Decree iirc, still would not prevent the new Eye of terror
afaik the terminus decree and talisman of seven hammers are two seperate things
the terminus decree is the imperium's last resort against chaos, the talisman of seven hammers is just a giant fuck you to daemons
Imperium
We don't really know what the Terminus Decree does
they contributed 70% of GW's income
But we know the only place that has the same symbol it has is on the Throne
So the Terminus Decree might be linked to the Throne in some way
Empire in Fantasy
replaced by Sigmarines
Was iirc about 80% of the sales of Fantasy, still very much dead
Replaced but still not the same
my guess is it's one of two things
A: instructions on how to rig the talisman of seven hammers to the webway gate and direct that + the psychic scream of big e's death straight through the webway and into the og eye of terror
B: "the man atop the golden throne is not the emperor"
that's due to the End Times
Yes, but if there is a situation where only 1 faction remain it would be due to an End Time like scenario, nothing else would cause it
The thing is we don't know
So any theory is fair game
then Chaos
essentially the theory is it'd be a last gambit- no more (safe) warp travel, terra is annihilated, but the eye of terror could close, which'd also possibly shut the galactic rifts
totally off topic i feel like if Big E actually was somehow revived there'd be a fucking violent restructuring of the IoM
like Parvos Granum turned to 15/10
well the very charm of 40K is that it always stays at the minute before midnight
an Eternal War
changing that you will ruin the entire 40K
another theory i like is the terminus decree is why it's always a minute to midnight
it contains a way to annihilate chaos, at the cost of humanity
the chaos gods know this, and therefore don't try to wipe us out
I personally believe Necron is the greatest threat to all
endless, soulless, and with unimaginable techs
The Necron are the only one that in a way the only race that don't have a problem with heat death of the universe
There are like 100 different apocalypse scenarios
”And we’re going to stop them all.”
Say, move 2 feet right, you’re about to enter my firing run
The most dangerous thing of the guard isn’t the lasgun, it’s the vox caster.
Your daemon or nid army is nice… until a 155mm howitzer starts raining it down and making it experience a nellis AFB moment
The lasgun is just personal protection
This is the same for modern militaries
Or a heavy bolter crew making a nid charge look like the Somme
The Navis Nobilite would NEVER allow it and with how xenophobic humans are you'd get a lot of people digging in their heels not trusting it.
Which is understandable
Don’t get in the way of the grind/grift
How would you react if you were told the job you were literally born to do was made obsolete
Thinking about the navigators make me always laugh, they are one of the dumbest things in the lore and their history in the setting is something so dumb that can be accepted only if you know from where they are inspired and why they are handwaved so brutally into the setting
I hope in a retcon of the navigators lore, into making them something way more reasonable
There’s worse grimderp
all things considered humanity would be so much better off if they got over the xenophobia
like if we allied with eldar/tau
The cost is too great
I mean yes, but actually no
why are the tech priests aloud to worship something other then the emperor?
Because he’s still the Emperor basically
To them
It’s like a Holy Trinity deal, they think the Omnissiah is an aspect of the Emperor
so they are crazy lol
Also back during reunifiction they were given a lot of leeway early on
I mean it works
Some of the stuff they do is nuts but faith power and all that shit works depending
But with an inner schism - not all Cult Mechanicum fully believes so
Basically they said they were worshipping the emperor with another name and got away with it
There’s always doubts but those people keep to themselves
And whenever a major schism comes up it gets crushed pretty quick
are they all condescending like the ones i have seen so far?
Titanicus deals with how Ad Mech leadership thinks of it
Like all things in 40k
It depends
There’s no real standard mostly for general broad groups
in a funny way. they act like everyone else is dumb and constantly correct them about small things.
It depends on the character and the book
Tbh they do mostly know what they’re talking about
only ones i have seen so far are suma in the way out and the one from darktide
I mean Hadron is correct mostly
Is everyone a cunt because you met a cunt 5 minutes ago? Nope.
Same can be applied here, they are still kind of people under the Tubes and mechandrites
She’s dealing with idiots compared to herself
She’s a prick
But she’s not wrong
She’s lived for hundreds of years
And some random dumbasses born thirty years ago or whatever want her to explain “why”
That’s probably her PoV
they make me laugh lol
Proceeds to handle the rejects devices that make the payday2 drill sound like an stc in comparison
i like them almost as much as cadains
Anyhow, if you want to see various examples of mechanicus personalities, get the tactical mechanicus game, you get to see various point of views from characters in different sections of the mechanicum
dont have people to play with
It's singleplayer
the bord game?
I really liked it, for being a modern 40k game it's well made
A lot of them worship big E as the omnissiah for he laid his hands upon an imperial knight and healed it.
However. His identity as the omnissiah is controversial among the Admech as there are factions within that don’t agree. Big E also left them alone to their religion when he made an alliance with them because it was pragmatic.
Big E was confident he could take mars by force but it wouldn’t be worth the expenditure of resources and time. Better to let them do their thing and get the crusade going! But you can be sure he would have gone after their religion eventually.
yeah its really a mix of the ecclesiarchy equating the machine god to emperor worship as well as mars' manufacturing power relative to the imperium, which was a problem even when the Emperor was still walking around
they make all the tanks and lasguns and stuff
some priests of mars really do believe the emperor is almost like a christ figure but others behave like "god emperor? yeah, sure thing buddy."
Not unlike the rest of the Imperium tbh
troof
from what i have seen no
time to make my GSC Veteran in that case
lol
Because I’d like to see you try and force them to worship something else
The logistics office is all powerful
yeah the admech has as much if not more power than the ecclisiarchy in the imperium so they dont have to follow the imperial creed tho they do keep the peace by making the emperor the embodiment of their god
similar to how the space marines dont have to follow the imperial creed
Not even Inquisitors are stupid enough to question Mars and the tech boys
Simply put, they found a loophole and used their levelage as "the only guys that actually know how to make shit" to keep doing whatever they wanted
There are also tons of places in the imperium that worship other gods
Like Fenris
yeah
I believe Tanith also had multiple gods besides the emperor
Tanith who?
so long as the emperor is venerated above all the ecclisiarchy is willing to "live and let live"
Do you think GSC members can remove their headplate thing whenever they want but keep it on because its their pride and joy?
If the answer is 'No' wouldn't that just be an incentive for Ordo Xenos to execute them for suspected cult activity?
I dont know fam im not an eyebrowcist 👀
New policy no eyebrows = GSC 👀
Oshit-
The imperium may as well genetically scan every bald person tbh
Maybe not the best pic but
Thats definitly looks like one
He be going "Mmmm a snack."
Technically depends on what generation are they on
didn't even saw the bug lol
I think that subcult he's a part of eat bugs IIRC
Dont remember the name
some of them do I believe
I’ve jokingly said this before. Part of the reason the mechanicus has a disproportionately smaller number is they genetically screen before cybernetic surgeries
like in the hammer and bolter animation they did
That might have been just the animators doing it otherwise people without eyebrows look weird
yeah thats what i was thinking. the gens that look more human likely have them but the more nid looking ones dont
And in one of the Cain books they scan the brothels that the guard take breaks in.
Or it’s in one of the gaunt books
I think thats probably Gaunt, I don't remember that in Cain
I'd check my GSC codex but I can't find it
All good
im sure either way if they go bald that means they basically more or less lose all bodily hair
I mean, from finding stc's to finding std's, that's one hell of a promotion lol
Also considering poor people in 40k don't seem to wear much makeup they probably all have male brain and literally would not be able to distinguish eyebrows that are drawn in
I’m saying that it’s probably a bad idea to not screen a brothel that is fighting genestealers or otherwise
I dont understand why Genestealers dont use hair to their advantage and use it to blend in as well as help their kind survive on colder hivecities
They probably do
its more just
saying cult members wear wigs constantly would probably be too goofy for a codex
Like HOLY SHIT THEY'RE ALL BALD AND GOT THE FOREHEAD PLATE EVERYONE I SEE
PLEASE GROW SOME FUCKING HAIR
Tbf, most cultists we see are already at the armed upsiring part
AT LEAST TRY
Genestealer infections dont always spread through sex
theres like
a lot of other methods
water supplies
food
medicine
etc
i thought the emp outlawed all religion
they are devious bastards
I bet if they had those huge ass victorian era white wigs they'd be balling
Genestealer’s kiss
So they basically are already at a point where they don't really need to hide anymore
Mods are half-dead on a magic chair, post theology
Me puckering up for that Genestealer's Kiss
but isnt it heresy to not worship him
Imagining this MF with a Edna wig
only ones i have done research on are nurgle and the emp
Thats more or less Patient Zero
didnt a GSC on an agriworld get the mutagen into a shipment of grain before the imperial authorities where able to detect it?
only a certain part of GSC members do breeding
a large percentage is made through other parts of infection
Or worse, a bowl cut
they should have these
I dont really understand how GSCs are able to put their genetic code into food without it being dissolved and digested
Well Ferb, I know what Im gonna buy for my genestealer killteam today
https://preview.redd.it/24u72tiirk821.png?auto=webp&s=45a884d8758c43db4cca0fd74b1cfd7d7d5e8152 I mean some of these folks could hide the mark signs well
its a mutagenic virus iirc so it likely works like other viruses that are ingested
Third one bringing literally a cult symbol on his back.
"yeah I think he could hide easily"
Yeah the actual Tyranid genome is very advanced
you can more or less put it into anything
the moment its in yoru body through any form of infection its over
Of course a change of attire is heavily emplied
Likely, it would make sense considering there's actual viruses that can survive being digested.
Acute gastroenteritis is common in adults. It can occur in institutional epidemics or epidemics of food-borne illness; in these cases, caliciviruses are the major cause of the condition. When acute gastroenteritis occurs in nonepidemic form, its causes are less clear. It may be due to caliciviruses …
Also why does the fourth one look like a Dj lol
idk. having an extra arm or 2 dont seem so bad
What about being used as fodder for your God?
Oh wait, that's how all 40k gods act, forgot for a second
lmao yup
no
Choosing a religion in 40k is basically getting inside the suicide machine from Futurama
yup
You know, I'd love it if there was a collab with Nurgle and Tzeentch to just fuck up a GSC genetic code just for the funnies
Choosing Nurgle no pain
genestealers with only one arm start growing
the hivemind "wtf is this shit?"
He's sprouts arms in a sun like formation and his torso is just pus ridden and looks like a tumor
Hive Fleet Kronos really out there putting Chaos in its place is kinda funny
Armless genestealers
I prefer the inverse
Hive Fleet Leviathan be like: I am a gentle mother bird. I must regurgitate flesh into the mouth of my cute little hatchling
Like thalidomide tier bad
Someone stole my fucking genes. Can't have shit in Hive Primus
Honestly I do hope newer Tyranids editions have more weirder bioforms
I need to see that adaptation bit in action in lore
I mean we always get the optimal ones
Fuck the optimal ones, I want something cool and dumb
And most of the nids we see are “optimal” for their purpose
Okay but that isn’t really the point of nids
They don’t make inefficient things
You want the Sargent York of tyranids?
I mean the tyrant guard only got made when nids came into the Milky Way
^this
Yeah but for an adapting race, they really dont adapt? Oh look, more Hormagaunts and Termagaunts, wowwee
Also the Neurothrope
They were specifically to counter marine tactics
Where they’d just focus node creatures
Also the dominatrix exists and is the dumbest possible bioform
Also export Enginseers to literally EVERYBODY to keep things ticking.
Is it chaos related?
Probably
HA
It was the doom of malantai
Tf
bugslug
Thats pretty cool
Like those are at least unique forms you dont get to see all the time
I want more shit like that
The norn crown is a distinct bioform and it's main purpose is to put a hormagaunt in charge of everything
Tf is that a catapult?
Isnt that a bad idea?
Well if it works why not
It makes it smarter
Usually
Not like Hormagaunts are the strongest things
I think people mostly put them on tervigons tbh
A situation that involved the opposition deliberately avoiding trying to kill hormagaunts? I could see it if the hivemind was noticing their enemy was targetting bigger threats moreso than the smaller stuff
It was in response to enemies just eliminating synapse life forms
I personally don’t like nids for the whole “bugs in space” thing being overused personally
Basically it's supposed to turn a non-synapse creature into a synapse to get around people shooting the big thing all the time
Id imagine people would catch on quickly if they're paying some attention to the hormagaunt's movements
"Oh look, one of the Hormies is staying away from the rest of the Hormagaunts."
Bcs when you kill a synapse non synapse nids freak out
The thing is putting them in the back of the horde
So it’s just a hormagaunt in the back of a formation
So pretty damn difficult to notice
Yeah
And it’s not like hormagaunts don’t retreat
The deathwatch caught on after a while tho
So now it’s just another thing to worry about against nids
Would be great to have a named hormagant with a norn crown that is a tactical powerhouse to rival the Swarm Lord
Put the norn crown on a ripper, shoaling tactics
It's really a useful bioform when you think about it, but the fact that it just hands a direct connection to the hivemind to any creature it happens to latch onto makes it feel really stupid
I just want the return of lost and damned instead of just chaos space marines and daemons
traitor guard really needs its own faction rules it seems super simple
Exactly
they already have most of the units, just need some chaos heavy weapons teams and field ordnance. tanks with chaos conversion options
make some chaos tanks if they want to go buck wild with it
GW could have also made it easier on themselves by making some of the GSC vehicles convertable
its the most common enemy the Imperium faces in lore and has barely any representation on the tabletop
I mean they’ve always allowed conversions in tournaments
As long as they’re on the right base size
And besides I could ask the same about where the hell is non-space marines in 30k?
yeah I get that you could always proxy lost and damned as regular guard
but you can proxy csm as space marines doesn't mean I want to do it
30k is a marine game
Non marine stuff is on forgeworld
And costs an arm and a leg for solar auxilia
Imperial Militas/Chaos cults
so the guy they hired to do solar auxilia doesn't work there anymore
Use 40k minis
or was a contractor or something
Yeah but they’re still sold
They have a complete mini rang
yeah just not sure if they'll ever come to plastic
They prolly won’t
Like most of the 30k range
We aren’t getting legion specific stuff in plastic either
It’s just the way it is
given the cost for entry auxilia was never insanely popular anyway
great looking sculpts though
Yeah
Auxilia was
expensive
People complain about horde armies in 40k costing a lot
Horde armies in 30k are uh
I’m more wanting something genuinely different aesthetically and tactically from marines when it comes to 30k, and in the case of traitor guard, I’m wanting something that makes people have more than one reason to buy guardsmen
I considered them for all of 10 seconds for a possible guard conversion project
until I saw the price points
I mean
There are factions different tactically then marines
In 30k
Literally everything that isn’t marines
I mean genestealer cults are one route to buy guardsmen, but not much more
Solar auxilia play like tempestus scions but with even more range
And imperial militias
Are just guard in 30k
But badass
Yeah
Like with darktide, say what you will, the moebian sixth are a genuinely interesting force
I know
Granted I have only a 1st edition killteam book
if the new imperial guard range sells well for tabletop, maybe they will seriously consider a new lost and the damned codex
We did get a traitor guard killteam
yeah plus the old blackstone fortress models
It’s $100 though
and the cultist HQ for CSM could easily serve for traitor guard
I mean that’s cheaper then a combat patrol
Sorry, just screeching into the void about price
I mean if the new models generally sell well. which factions get attention is always a financial decision and guard haven't had a new range in like 20 years
Guard have always been popular tbh
if guard suddenly gets more popular they might say hey what if we sold the chaos version
So this is just them cash in on that
Also lost and the damned weren’t really traitor guard
Tbh
it was traitor guard + cultists wasn't it?
Is the Blood Pac still the only disciplined Traitor Guard Regiment fighting for Khornes?
Lost and the damned was a bunch of random chaos cultists with lots of guns
https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Militarum-Tempestus-Scions-2017 I bought these when it was 33-35$
And high ranking chaos leaders
Hence my seething
It was a weird ass army
Considering your troops hit on 5’s
Because they’re super untrained
There’s also the sons of sek
And also you had terrible leadership
The only upside was you could field a lot of bodies
And take marines/daemons as elite options
Aren't they also Blood pact anyway?
Lost and the damned honestly had terrible rules from a gameplay stance
So I’d rather them make it not terrible
Sons of sek were made by a rival of the blood pact.
More elite options, “improvised” units
Yeah
Give them an option for traitor guard
Chaos eldar as well
Make them chaos but not marines
Like here’s one I just thought up:
Instead of chaos marines but with cannon fodder
More mortar crews
Because it’s actually pretty easy to make mortars, if not exactly powerful ones
I think the most absurd lost and the damned list I’ve seen
Was like 18 heavy stubber weapon teams
To accompany their 3 squads of cultists
More grenade launcher too
so how powerful is a medusa siege cannon?
Bcs that’ll cover dark mechanicus stuff
Less advanced armor compared to guard, but more explosives
I'm hoping that Lost and Damned list let you get the mortal follower of the Chaos Space Marines
I mean
Like the Jackals
Lost and the damned let you take csm as hq and elite options
Except why the fuck would you
Since you needed those elite slots for traitor enforcers
People wanting original lost and the damned back are weird to me
Because that army is gona be expensive as fuck
It’s a horde army of a horde army
Like in this case they use GSC vehicles and have a rule I like to call “hang on tight” that lets most vehicles be used as transports
Honestly if they bring back RnH
All I’m praying is for them to not hit on 5’s
And be dirt cheap per unit
Because it was just an entire army of conscripts
Unless you wanted to pay out the ass
Like you had to pay almost 2x the points for a squad of traitor militia being as good as guardsmen
Imho I would prefer for it to be done like the GSC Guardsmen
So they can depend heavily on the IG but get their own special stuff
Yeah
Honestly the lost and the damned always felt like a fluff army
Since their rules were always of uh
Questionable viability
I’ll just say this now leadership 3 guardsmen with BS/WS 5+ where uh not it
Wait they had even worse armor then flak
💀
Like, even a medieval plate armour would probably give more protection than flak
And i'm nearly sure it give actual more protection
iirc Plate is the same armour category as Flak, as Feudal worlds' regiments use it
Plate armor didn’t work against black powder weapons
So I doubt it would be an improvement to flak
If we want to have a fun moment, a great one would be a lost and damned special unit that’s based off the atlas recovery tank or Trojan
Here’s what it is
A cannon mounted on a armored tow truck
Basically this with a giant cannon replacing the winch
Basically the idea of a chimera chassis shadow sword without the laser tech
Pardon the stupid idea
Or the fact it’s practically bullshit.
tbf stupid idea/practically bullshit sums up a lot of the vics and weapons in 40k
The idea I had was “insurgent captured APC turned into self propelled anti tank artillery”
i mean even a truck irl can be made into a SPG so
Yes, but the idea is basically they strapped a earth shaker to a chimera
Or something
And use it for direct fire support
i mean. arent basilisks based on the chimera chasse already?
Can I point out that the Chimera chassis is already the one they use for Basilisks
Like yeah
Yes
So where's the question...?
yeah mounting a basilisk cannon to a chimera should be possible
I was more being dumb and trying to think of nonstandard armor solutions to a insurgency
Like missile trucks as artillery substitutes
so side tracking a bit, can a Leman Russ engine really run on any flammable liquid or will non standard fuels damage it over time?
What kinda flammable liquid we talking?
I believe the lore is just that it’s super versatile
Flamers.
And can take a lot of fuel sources
k
But promethium is the main fuel typically
In steel tread, they mention also that a russ can run on just about any fuel source also.
Including one called “fyseline” is a popular fuel also.
I’m not sure if that’s the proper spelling but it’s 40k’s version of petrol fuel iirc.
Also if we want a crazy “Anti Air” option, it’s a giant “shotgun” type weapon using industrial shotgun shells
Or just a pack of heavy stubbers
yeah i was asking if its a "yeah it can run on anything no problem" or a "it can run on anything but somethings will damage it so use those sparingly at most"
Let’s just say the contraband distillery has multiple uses
lol
Granted that’s personal headcanon
If we wanted a real world example of a multi fuel engine, diesel engines are actually impressively versatile
I think it's like the lasgun battery, you can cook it near a fire to recharge it, but it's not really advised
thats what i was thinking
as are some gas turbines
I was going to mention that, but I decided against it
yeah and with both engines its a case of "it can run on it, but its not really recommended"
If you start eyeing the commissar’s amasec as fuel, you have a future issue
Even if it’s the shitty white girl stuff
lol
Do you guys think being a cook for the Ogre Kingdoms would be a pretty good job?
I'd imagine it'd be either the best or the worst gig
On one hand, the ogres would love you if you're a fantastic cook, but on the other, one fuck up and you're done
That sounds surprisingly chill of them
I was expecting most tyrants would act like Greasus and just boss em around demanding for impossibly high amounts of prepared dishes
Thought halflings were just their typical cooks but what happened with him?
Ate em probably
Why was he stealing spices?
Cause the Halfling showed that he was useful by using the spices to cook
And then the Ogre took all the spices and put them into a plate
Zamn
The height of Ogre cooking is basically just putting everything you find in a pot and heating it all
Or eat people raw and living
I like the idea of ogres learning new ways to cook and being like "Whoa thats pretty cool, we should try that more"
Ogres in AoS found out how to eat ghosts as ice cream lol
lol
Their cooks are their priests
so can Ogryn get drunk? i assume yes but idk for sure
if you cook a good meal you will basically be their bro-tier friend
I love that aspect
i love that in TWWH3 one of the ogre kingdoms pop up events is their cooks invent ketchup and you decide what to do with it lol
Yeah its great
honestly ogres are one of the best WHF races
the fact that they will work for ANY army as long as you pay them in food already makes them gigachads
ikr
Thats hilarious and awesome
I want the ogres to create aristocratic cuisine on accident
ı highly suggest reading the wikipage of the ogres on the Warhammer Fantasy wiki
they are genuinely a great faction
Wish there was an ogre faction in 40k but we do have Ogryns at least
40K ogres would genuinely be great but yeah alas
Ogryns dont really compare sadly
aside from really the name and stature lol
Yeah sadly Ogryns, for as cool as they are, arent Ogre Kingdoms
That yellow w/ hazards is just....yes.
Damn Khan got out of shape
If I had much more money. Id make a homebrew guard regiment that uses GSC vehicles.
I love the idea of a regiment from an industrial world that lacks access to most combat vehicle STCs who instead uses patterns of industrial equipment
Do you think ogres are like dwarves where the male and female ogres look teh exact same?
Nah female ogres got feminine features
also Warhammer Fantasy dwarf ladies look different too
OH WOW
They are just small opera singers
I mean fish nets
Why do female ogres have stockings-
That's just how the painter decided to paint it
I wanna see my fat funny mongolians learn how to make things like lasagna or spaghetti and then enjoy themselves
Little bit of subreddit promotion, but if anyone likes to deep dive 40k lore, stop by our sub sometime
So, I guess some voicelines say Grendyl is Ordo Hereticus, why are they not Ordo Sepulturum?
U cant trust reddit
which speciifcally is an anti-nurgle infestation Ordo
Oh no, it’s apart of the model
Damn that beard
Yeah I can’t find anything else about this mode lmao
It might be third part and i wouldn’t know
I think cause of the traitors of the Mobian 6th they even got a Captain of them as Prisoner so it makes sense to degree
I do like the blood bowl’s female ogre, I just fucking hate how they dressed them, but blood bowl’s ogres are pretty unclothed so I guess it works
Why should he be from that ordo?
Hereticus is all about traitors and heretics
Sepolturum is about plague zombies, which aren't really in DT
So AOS female ogres would be cool, just please god let them wear clothes
Poxwalkers are not plague zombies if anyone is wondering
they basically are
Yeah Ordo Hereticus is the only logic choice since it would take way more Demons for Ordo Maleus to show up
poxwalker is the new model, for what used to be plague zombies
i doubt we'll see plague zombies again.. (he says, but munda are retro so maybe)
Oh really? Huh that seems weird
Minor lore issue in DT. That is the emblem of the Palatine Enforcers. Who are specific to Necromunda.....
It’s not like the inquisition renaming it?
Counter argument, the logo is slightly different in game
They aren't, they are quite different
It’s the uh balatine enforcers!
Different emblem tho minor changes
The slight change to have two towers... Lol
Also the palatine have way fucking cooler armor
Good point but its like...right there on the line of EEEEEHHHHHHH
Wiat yeah, if it was from the admech or something these guys would probably ahve it too if they are similar to the PG
In the grim darkness of the far future at least it seems that the mighty STC for cargo pants is still produced
Those pants will endure
I wonder how copy right works in 40k
Seems that munda enforcers use flak armour... It looks more carapace to me lol
It suit better the description of carapace more than flak too
The forgeworld horrifically kills anyone who tries stealing their exclusive stuff
Just like real life
Lol
Maybe considering the palatine are the only enforcers given models it could be that all enforcer groups share a variation of the tower skull thingie
good point
You know: the emperor probably didn’t help angeron with anytning ever because the planet he was on was porbably a khorne cult
And was like ‘chaos ew’
was anyone ever afraid to be sacrificed to the throne or try to run?
i dont think tau or eldar would be down in the first place
hairless in general
Tau would be fine with it but they’d constantly try to get planets to join them
Eldar is uh
A cointoss lol
tau declared war on the imperium-- they dont want peace since the 3rd sphere started
i think they in it for the long haul
If it’s between the galaxy ending and the tau and imperium working together they’d be willing to
It already happens frequently at a small scale
Even tho it usually devolves back into them fighting each other
since 3rd spher?
where?
After the great rift opened
They’ve worked together in some sectors to eliminate demons
right- i havent read anything since there
chalnath is a big 'personal' war betwen both
i think since mugulath the tau dont want anything but to take down the imperium
That’s their long term goal yeah but they can’t do that
If they both get wiped out
Which is why if a big threat pops up they’ll work together till it’s gone
And then go back to killing each other
maybe i missed the earleri convo -- is it just hypotherical ?
Wut
Oh yeah this is a hypothetical
Sorry my b lol
Regarding the eldar the imperium already has long term alliances with 1 craftworld
And close connections to another
But craftworlds pretty much never agree with each other
i think the eldar and imperium have already basically allied
chaos is the obvious and primary enemy-- theyll always ally to fight them
Yeah
more chaos means more allying right?
Yesnt
For a lot of craftworlds yes
For Luggnuth and Biel’tan
It’s an easy way of removing humans lol
agree
But for ones like Ulthwe, Iyanden and Saimm Han
lugganath is more in line with tau and kicking deldar in the teeth
They’re working with imperials more
Yeah because the craftworld shattered 💀
last i see they helped tau finish off gorgon
but i see eldar/imps more of a fit
honestly i see tau allying more with chaos mortals
pirates renegads
are the dawn of fire books the most recent events in the timeline?

I wonder how much stuff from the Heresy era is still in use.
Bolters haven't changed much
Oh yeah.
Who is looking forward to the final books for the Horus Heresy?
Very much so
I wonder if chaos space marines will join in the fray of darktide and basically be the games version of vermintide 2's chaos warriors?
Doubt it. I can see a plague marine working as a big boss maybe.
They already said that it won't happen (design choice)
hey um, what the actual fuck does a nurgle scented candle smell like
legit question
Yet to find a review of nurgle, but the others are just regular scentic candles with daft names.
Boggles the mind what they were thinking with this.
i unironically want one just cuz its funny
watch the nurgle one actually smell like death
supposedly it does
Probably smells like a mass grave
The power scaling in much more off the charts in 40k than it is in fantasy
I think only power swords and psykers would be able to really I jure a chaos marine
Ogryns too technically
And plasma guns
And melta's when they add them
The problem is not as much their durability as it is their "particular set of skills"
Debatable considering in game we don't get affected by nurgles influence already
True
We are just too pure
Ogryn just doesn't understand it so he don't get affected
I do have my theories that we have some kind of psychic protection for this stuff from grendel
I do want to know more about him in general
His hologram kept changing faces
Is he a lord inquisitor
Yes
That explains his influence and spies everywhere
Would love more rannick content aswell
Technically, as of now the chain of command is something like: us, morrow, melk, zola, rannick, the rogue trader of the mourning star and then grendel
Brahms
The ship we are not is not ours technically
What about hadron
still haven't met the lady from the trailer with the big hair thing going on
That's brahms
The rogue trader
she's a rogue trader?
