not if he dead
A lot of fanfic ends up canon
Wouldn’t see why his sexuality being confirmed matters personally
It’s not really their style
Same reason Cain’s is
It gets chuds mad too
Lol
Cain is straight or at most Bi
Cain is prolly straight
Cain would realistically be bisexual but is deffo straight
Hes like Captain Kirk but as a Commissar
McNeil and ADB say a lot of stuff tbh
oh i know. a lot of people post fan fics over there just to post them and then some fools read it and think its canon for some reason that was all i was saying
Which isn’t or doesn’t end up canon
Man straight up avoided getting shot in the head bcs he was looking at Sullas ass 💀
BASED.
my man is a legend
also thats like
the most realistic way you could have avoided being shot
imagine owing your life to being horny
He was so married to his job that GW forgot he even existed and made Ragnar and Ghaz fight in a boxset instead as """rivals"""
lmao
Kekw
Psychic awakening should be forgotten
Don’t wanna talk about it
LMAO
It was not good
It was just
Hmm, almost like certain folks were right
A whole lot of nothing lol
But at least the models looked cool
I know we are discussing lore but correct me if im wrong wasnt even all the tabletop shit it brought literally did nothing
I’ll give them that
^factual
like game modes and sets nobody is ever gonna touch
Nah there was shit that broke the game lol

Lest we forget our lord and savior admech servitor maniple
Which allowed you detachment free kataphron servitors
And also some other abominations
That I’ve repressed
I wish just once the broken comps would actually be cool
lmao
Instead of like
Oh yeah
“Lol spam slaves or white shields or whatever”
Infinite entering deep strike right after fighting stuff
“Abbadon leads army of cultists”
Dogwalker abbadon is a crime against humanity
I guess the dread meta for Iron Hands was kinda cool at least
Oh yeah white shields spam
Or more sensical
You’ve had white shields spam
Now we’ve got SENTINEL SPAM
It ain’t a good roster if there isn’t child soldiers
I see a single guard player shitting on tau for being annoying I’m gona force them to play against my maximized kasrkin sentinel spam list
There will be suffering
GW would like to assure you that all those models were 18 or more and knew what they signed up for
I have a 75% win rate with it across 8 game
Or something
attack of the chicken walkers
So comically under priced
Mechwarrior chads win again
It’s insane
The imperial guard combat patrol they revealed is only like
400 points at most lol
Uh sir I think you mean Lore Accurate Kasrkin™️
I don’t think 30 kasrkin using steel legion tactics in a taurox are lore accurate
i love how the AT-ST is a scout vehicle lmao. damn thing is massive slow and frankly made to be a MBT
Hey, pimp vans are fun
It looks funny
It don’t say that a dog Kasrkin can’t play in the rulebook!
That’s why you invest in a good engine.
Well it’s more like a light tank tbh
The Speeders are more the scouts
star wars tech is weird
Honestly idrc
Also don’t think about it Morty
Guard is inevitably on the nerf list
Circle of nerfs
There’s no way they let how cheap sentinels are stay around
And god forbid they get rid of rule of three
They’re at least balanced by box costs
Hah
Or else every guard army is gona look like a fucking chicken coop
I wonder why
Someone I know irl was arguing to remove rule of 3
Rule of three: one to have power, one to crave it, and one to claim it's bullshit
lmao
lmfao
I'm stealing that
Hard to say.
Will the loyalists get a primarch back?
Loyalists? Maybe. Fulgrim will definitely be back. We know that for sure.
Stuff
Mhm
They’ve already announced that the EC will get their own codex. So it stands to reason the daemon primarch will be back.
All we know about 10th is stuff will happen lol
i... know? Guy's banged a toaster.
Does it mean we need another Rylanor moment?
🥱
Toaster women are queens
Just look at hadron

"another" how gouache
... yes... that old lady that scolds you is so hawt
I’m joking mostly
im not. I'm just testing the waters
my kink is to go to the local dim sum place and have old ladies with carts that contain fires cooking dumplings yelling at me "YOU WANT THIS"
God... is there nothing sweeter in this life
so has anyone been able to figure out what "the five" is the psykers sometimes mention?
We have not.
If I had to guess, based in the voice pack and behavior, I think they were part of some cult or coven of psykers.
What’s the context of the line?
They use their psyker power and go “by the Five!”
They also mention the “Five Towers.”
This restricted to just one voice pack or all of them
Just one.
There’s the one that talks about the dream, the more disciplined one, and the egotistical genius one. The egoist is the one that mentions the five.
Probably something to do with their background
Can someone tell me what is the name of these golden-helmed rebel psykers?

At the 2 minute mark
They were created by the guy that made it. They’re not actual canon anything.
ah that explains why I can't find them in the wiki, thanks!
From what we can interpret they’re some sort of psykers.
yeah, they seem linked to one another in the video
What about the weird multi-eyed red eyes effect on the marine's helmet when the vison cracks at 5:11?
think that's just his HUD shattering with the glass
Telekinesis?
Just some enhanced vision stuff? Definitely not a mod since they take the helmet off and it's normal
Yeah.
aah that makes sense
I think it’s the hud.
If anything those psykers aren’t that strong. XD
In throne of light a teenage psyker kills several primaris marines by himself.
With ease.
two of them together and they couldn't crush the space marine to death. shameful display.
LMAO
I'm over here jumping out of my seat just from that fight
thought it was some intense psykers considering they blocked bolter shots and stuff
does that mean that the convict psykers we play are baby material?
Hard to say. Psyker power levels is one of those things that work however the author needs them to.
ah, I see. One more question. What about the golden orb at 7:45? Also fanmade stuff?
ye
aw, wanted to learn more about it and what it does. Seems like chaos related since it seems to consume the marines and takes them to the chaos realm
The fact that all of it are things that could believably exist in the lore is a testament to how well he made it.
Good homebrew lore and fan creations should be able to fit seamlessly.
Only thing innacurate during it is the marine tanking the multilaser like that and the bolter fire rate at the end
other then that its great
but those are nitpicks
rule of cool always wins
Would the multilaser melt marines?
Whenever I read the word pysker the image of a child psyker forcing a space marine to blow his own brains out in front of an inquisitor comes to mind.
Then it returns to "WITNESS THEIR DOOOM!"
Not necessarily.
Las fire is depicted pretty weak in most cases against marines who usually can tank them for a bit or shrug them off.
A multi laser is just a rapid fire lasgun and would have to chip away quite a bit before damaging anything viral.
If it was a lascannon on the other hand? The marine would get shredded.
ah so more damage is what they were saying. Does look like it dents the armor but not much
also the Marine has the sense to get out the way
Multilaser was the wrong weapon for a Marine TBH, autocannon or heavy bolter would have been gg nore
In game stats a multi laser hits harder than an auto cannon.
lorewise, the autocannon would have just pulped him
multi laser would def cause some more severe damage then in the animation
multilaser was survivable especially with his unintentional meastshields
but it wouldn't have killed
guess he made his armor save huh
yeah that as well
Those cultists/armsmen
saved the marine a lot of potential trouble
looks like they did use an autocannon in minute 2:37 and they either don't get hit or just shrugged it off
not cultists.
Now, the krak missile
that's a bit more absurd
that should have gotten him
oh right they DID have an autocannon
shame cultist mcgee had terrible BS
they were supposed to be a human society being influenced by xenos
Just a reminder that weapons function how the author/creator wants them to.
hold on I can only read wiki pages so fast haha
the autocannon missed completely
if an autocannon hits a marine that's one dead marine
Old Lost and the damned BS lookin ass lol
hitting on a 5+ 💀
"do you think the hoods are affecting our aim?"
"THE GODS WILL PROVIDE"
(the gods did not in fact provide)
to an extent, usually weapons seem to work how they're described in codexes
causing similar damage
Guy does get hit on the shoulder by the autocannon, so def. a creator decision. Video is still insanely badass regardless
no one can tell me the Vraks traitor militia looks good
Because I've seen no one use the damn things on the tabletop even when they were usable
Also its important to remember the Astartes short-film wanks the Marines to show them as unstoppable for the sole twist that they get wiped by a completely unconventional threat
otherwise yeah the autocannon/multilaser bit was a bit bullshit
They are now
i learned something interesting
apparently people hate the Leman Russ tanks
of all the tanks people can be on, the Leman Russ is the least comfortable and least reliable tank to be on with it's saving grace being how they are so cheap to produce
I got a lore question that just popped into my head while I was unable to sleep
Aquilan Guards are Custodes that go out to protect someone who is like destined to do great things for the Imperium
What happens if that person is like say in the guard, encounters demons. Grey Knights show up kill the demons and well.
Grey Knights like to kill people who were fighting with them against the demons.
The custodes will protect them
And the custodes has authority superseding the grey knights
As their word is = to the emperors
Technically
Oof
my choices would either be Custodes, Armageddon Steel Legion, or a kitbash of Maccabian Janissaries..
Price wise, I think a 2000 point army of Custodes would be worth slightly less than 2000 points of say a Space Marine army
Most expensive is prolly admech or genestealer cults
Most horde armies are usually expensive.
Guard is expensive depending on how infantry heavy you are
Well I'm not overly versed in Guardsmen lore, but from my understanding Armageddon isn't the more horde focused guard army?
Even in high numbers?
my main reason for liking Armageddon is it's heavier usage of armor rather than sheer numbers.. Am I wrong?
Without synapse creatures
Steel legion have a bunch of infantry in transports usually
So they run a lot of chimeras and infantry
As compared to a normal guard army which just runs but tons of infantry and maybe a few russes?
right?
I suppose so
Unless we count the abomination that is the 300 whiteshields list
I wish I can fight the Guard as my Death Guard. :3
I'm 22, but growing up my dad used to have his own 40k army still have the minis they are on a shelf on the wall.
Which was just to abuse spamming a bunch of shots
It was like a Blood Angel terminator unit? idk the name
but a bunch of Blood angel terminators and a assassin of some kind.
ah
and either a caldeus or culuxes assassin.
Technically they do sorta
They have their own kit
For terminators
No difference other then asthetical
Ones
On the upside they have better scaling then the generic terminators
On the downside they only work for blood angel armies so
Yeah
Pewter then
Pewter? I'll go look at them again after this mission
If it’s dark colored odds are it’s pewter
Bcs lead was usually a light color or white metal
I'll take a look and send some pics after this mission
but I believe they were darker.
they are pretty heavy
for their small size imo
there is also a techmarine with them
you know actually there are normal marines now that I remember it.
I'm out of my mission imma go take a look now.
I have no idea what kind of assassin model that is doesn't look like any of the 4?
Oh I just found it online the name is a rogue trader imperial assassin?
from like around 1989
The one that looks like a foot-ninja from TMNT?
Yeah thats the one
that's the assassin
Im half sure the assassin temples didnt properly exist back then so could explain this guy.
He has the wonky proto-Eversor pistol and everything
I'm pretty sure they didn't either
Yeee
this dudes called a Citadel Imperial Assassin
Could be used as a Caldeus assassin still maybe? Or people were using him as an eversor.
Yeah but they can shapeshift so it could've been a shapeshifted one.
But Eversor is cool too
Hes more or less a proto rogue-trader model either way
the assasins properly came in on 2nd edition
like all 4 OG ones
Goofy lads, I miss them
I just went and looked at some of the models on the shelf
and they look fucking wack maybe they aren't blood angels? Or only some are idk
One looks like a space wolf terminator, can't find any insignias just a giant fur cloak.
Send pics
They're hella dusty but sure I got nothing better to do.
Yeah im bored too might as well track them down if i can
ok I'll post some the paint was done in like 1989 by a teenage dad of mine so no judging XD
it's probably better than I could ever do
I'm so confused
Rogue trader colors were bright and goofy and stylish i would never judge em
Here is the first one he’s not a terminator which confuses me more
Gonna get my bed all dusty but whatevs
Robes and a big ass sword
Yeah it is
okay so it has the sword + wings sigil
It's a psyker of some sort
Some old ass librarian
First terminator
Confuses me because I always think of Dark Angels when it comes to hoods
Also the black/red matches their heresy colors too which im not sure if it was intentional or not
Probably not? I’m not sure
FOUND IT
Oh?
Okay so the first one
Dark Angels, 2nd Edition (1993-1998)
Ezekiel
I knew the wing-sword thing had relevance on the book
MIGHT be the case
im looking at the Dark Angels miniature log now to see if the others match
Maybe these are Deathwing Terminators???
Hold on
I know he has Blood raven space marines
Think that's the middle one with different arms
Thats the lad yep
Wolf guard I think
Wolf Guard termies yep
that's another one I have no idea
Dude if you tell me this is like Iron Hands
He DOES have a missile platform so that should make him easier to nail down, let me see...
found em
Looks like a random termie
speaking of
lemme go put these back and nab others
found this lad
and its not a Space Marine
Its an Inquisitor IN Terminator armor
Huh
Yeah Inqs had a lot of termie armor minis back in the day
theres like 5 of them here
Literally all of these guys are wearing some fashion of power-armor
An Inquisitor in terminator armor?
Yep
that can still happen in current 40k
at the end of the day its just advanced armor in some cases
But most inquisitors sensibly go for a less bulkier alternative
Let me take a look at the others and post osme
Ok so the second one I grabbed don't even need to post it is another Space Wolves, Wolf Guard Terminator
little fur dangly bit, storm bolter and chain fist
Yeee Space Wolf minis are like very easy to spot lol
The other one I grabbed is also space wolves lemme put these back
So that's 3 out of the 5 for the original wolf guard terminators
lemme see if the other 2 are on the shelf, they should be
I think one of the wolfguard might be missing which is major feelsbadm
lemme post the last few termis

These ones I can't tell I don't see any insignias
wut?
she got some long arms to actually fill those gloves
Shes quite literally; built different
I wonder can the paint be redone on these?
Lemme take some pics while you answer that
No idea on my end unfortunately, I know next to nothing about miniature stuff, though I assume wiping away/painting over something that old might be iffy but still 🤔
Lightning claw terminators are two of those
One has a circle with lightning bolt on the shoulder the other has a blood drop with a skull as you can see
Alright so the last one is anotehr generic terminator from '89
nothing chapter specific
First one looks like a basic termie too but cant find any images of it
@fallen dune the og assassin has recently had a glow up. He's now from Clade Adamus
That's a deathwing termie
I gotta go through the mini box and see if I can find the rest of the Deathwing lol
what about the other two?
This one and
yeah couldnt find them on my end
scouring lexi atm since all these termies are made to look generic for customisation purposes
This is probably the ketchup termie with a normal storm bolter instead
The other one with the hammer is probably just a basic terminator from the same era with a different load out than shown in the pics
Yeeee
This is getting more and more convoluted by the second
Old Imperial minis are deffo a rabbithole
So we have a Citadel Imperial Assassin/Clade Adamus
Ezekiel, Grandmaster Librarian of the Dark Angels
1st Edition Deathwing Terminators
2nd Edition Wolf Guard Terminators
Probably has these upgrade bits on some basic termie
Old GW be like "Terminator armor? You mean free real-estate?"
I opened up the bin of random minis now because I'm determined to find that last wolf guard
and first thing I see are Warhammer 30k Horus Heresy era space marines I think?
The got the studded left shoulderplate and the Beak helmet
Isn't that what was commonly worn around 30k?
Yeah but the beaky helmets were on the OG Marine models too
post em here for inspection 👀
I'm sorry to tell you that
opening the bin
this got even more convoluted I found a Wolf Guard Terminator.
It's the one with the giant wolf cloak
that I showed earlier
oshit twins
2 Wolf Guard squads?
Very likely or could have been traded
the one with the belt is suppose to be the lead termie of the group
BRUH
I found a fking chaplain just now
idk what chapter
and he's missing an arm it's just in the bin somewhere, metal ones are easy to fix because they have little nubs to slot in
post em all
While I go post pics of it
it has a banner on it's back
A black wing with blood dripping from it?
He’s pretty beaten up
But not impossible to fix
whats a perpetual?
Have you ever heard of a tech marine with a shoulder mounted bolter..?
Not mounted
whats a perpetual?
I THINK so
I would need to see the mini
most techmarines have big-ass wrenches on their shoulders
is it the same as being immortal?
or at least the old minis do
It’s not in text but here
Yes.
and can a perpetual be killed?
Ye old heavy bolters were shoulder mounted
what are power weapons?
So it’s a shoulder mounted bolter tech marine
ok so, how they work
Thats the one yeah, the one Jerk posted
god the old lascannons too
looking like fucking party-shooters 💀
Weapon has power-field generator.
It makes blue glow.
Makes things easier to slice and kill.
Makes things dead.
what's a power field
Yep looks like it
page says it sheaths the blade in a field of energy that disrupts solid matter
yes thats what a power-field is
2 tech marines?
the shoulder-design has the jagged squares which signify it yep
which are suppose to be admech-inspired
I need to reglue these one day
Don't think this body or weapon are from a tech marine but the backpack does belong to one
That’s the only weapon that fits it
The way his arms are set up it’s shoulder mounted
Yeah I think it was a devastator originally but the backpack was changed
Yeah it gets a bit fuzzy since a lot of the minis start to overlap
they got more identity later on through 2nd to 3rd edition
these marine minis are getting out of hand
I found a 4th one I think
I found another wolf guard also
So now I have OVER. Full set of those here lol
And a shoulder mounted lascannon
yeee thats from the set Jerk posted above i think
It’s a power weapon
Yes. It is.
And the way it works in game isn’t really lore accurate
It should completely obliterate everything it comes into contact with
Same with the power maul
The way the power sword works is about how all the power weapons should
its fun to hit a plagueryn for 2/3 its hp
I found some wolves in this bin
whats the warhammer equivalent to a star destroyer? as in, the basic most common capital ship that can operate independently
Prolly one of the random battle ship varients
jesus
But those aren’t like
I don’t think there is
What’s used for patrolling stuff
I think it’s just wolves from something else
yeah but which one
The equivalent in terms of usage is the Lunar class crusier tbh
Not any battleship
Post it 👀
Battleships aren’t used very often the same way star destroyers are
Mother of god
based lad
That’s an old mini
yeah he has been posting archeo-minis for like the last hour
legit trip down memory lane
Is that Asmodai
Any of the lunar class crusiers are used in a similar way to star destroyers
Is it?
thanks
What does his back banner look like
Lol so he has Asmodai and Ezekiel from 1989
yeah these are actual relics
Inb4 there's Azrael as well
No lol
jesus christ
THIS SHIT FOR 32 BUCKS?
Actual grandpa
someone take him to the retirement home already
Azrael's is basically his older mini but with updated graphics yeah
This one is worse tbh
Lol
Based route
I dont blame them when this mini is literally older than me by like 2-3 years
Bruh maybe I should try to make a space wolf army
And include 2nd gen wolf guards lmao
Be based
And if anyone ever talks trash you hold the power of a pewter lemen russ
Aka a blunt force trauma weapon
Lol I don’t think leman is in here
Oof
dang yall over here talkin abt these cool minis and im over here debating if its worth the price of a tech priest or two
Its not
for the love of god dont waste your money
go buy actually important stuff
like food

yeah
the damn paints
Its fun but also like way too much effort
I think I’d love to paint minis for cash like some people lol
id totally spend 50-60 on a pre-painted techpriest but shit $140 for one priest + paint aint worth it
Yeah its not
I'd pay if i had minis lol
but my excuse is laziness and my hands are shaky
let alone an actual admech army
I found a second over the shoulder heavy bolter
$440 for the started army with paints
Literally one of the most expensive factions points per dollar lol
cuz thry need so many paints? or are the mini's expensive
ah
That are very points to $ inefficient
Points are how the game is played
ah
Every unit has a point value
Oh my god I think I found orc or catachans I can’t tell which it is
Mohawks, sleeves tops
so basically admech is kinda the worst faction?
Pump shotgun
No
Well actually rn yes
But not really
The worst faction rn is space marines lol
if i were to get any minis theyd he admech or sob
how tf
space marines
yknow the 40k poster boy
They’ve had a few periods
But they aren’t always mediocre at worst like eldar
And when marines are meta they’re usually abusing some game breaking loophole
i love the tech priests cuz they're dope as fuck, i love SoB cuz they're so comically over the top and its fucking hilarious
So question
Like musical wounds with 3 dreadnoughts and 2 tech marines lol
If I say made myself an army
Could I use that terminator armor inquisitor?
that too old
Yeah it’s still a thing
Omg
Just put them on a properly sized base lol
Even better
You can just use it
Doesn’t matter how old a mini is
You can still use it
Hell you can use the cardboard cutout grot dreadnought from second edition
At a GW tournament if you want
Lol
I’ve always really wanted an army of some kind..
Can’t you slot inquisitors in anywhere?
I found some cool af minis here tbh
Terminator inquisitor and terminator chaplain are my favorite
Is this a chaos logo?
The arm belongs to a space wolf terminator so I’m confused again…
Did he make like a traitor wolf guard terminator squad?
13th company stuff for the eye of terror campaign
oh
Just insane and using salvaged chaos gear
Eh that’s standard for marines
lol
Man that Chaplain Terminator and Inquisitor looks sick 👀
yo new stuff in the darktide store.
And I hate it. 🙃
my 300 or so painted minis disagree it being too much effort
Is there any army in the tabletop that can use both guardsmen and space marines
Like how Deathwatch is a bunch of different space marine chapters
well anything with the imperium keyword can be allied in a game
so if I wanted to combine Space Wolves and Guardsmen I could?
hm I might have to do some reading then
because I LOVE terminators
but I love guardsmen also
what about a kill team? What are they?
as in the game or deathwatch units
not the game
I'm just trying to think of some way I could eventually come up with an army
that lets me use my Terminator Chaplain with Guardsmen lol
Kill teams are how death watch army build
What did they ad
They get kill teams instead of standard marine squads
Awful stuff imo
For a lot of sruff
They added slop and slime cosmetics
It's very detailed stuff
Oh god drill abbot
There is a standalone mask in the psyker shop that is better
it's a skull kinda like that one zealot one
Grob the Fixer
Can we fix it? Grob the Fixer Yes, we can!
I'm probably gonna stick with the psyker cosmetics I already have
Why are they waiting so long to add the big ticket skins?
Like Krieg
They'd make so much money on that
Maybe they haven't made it yet because they wanna do different things
The drill abbot is a funny reference to lore books
Mostly since that power maul is for beating children
Or killing them

Pulping a child
The schola progenium baby
Are inquisitors any good in armies btw?
If you don’t do well on a test they’ll rip your spine out and display it for the rest of the class
Depends
Like if I'm able to afford myself an army I like
I WILL put that Terminator armor inquisitor in it
After I repaint it
What
The schola progenium
They have a lot of uh “punishments”
For students who don’t succeed
oh
I thought you were talking about my inquisitor
Or try escaping
Nah
The tempestus scions codex and sisters of battle codex had some uh
Intresting punishments
Bro this marine has the value brand dreadnought interment
Bro looking like a kataphron servitor lol
I wanna see this guy do tony hawk tricks with his tracks
Anyways the imperium of man has an institution for abusing children till they become the perfect soldier
Do like a 1080
Which is certinely an idea
If you had to come up with a new dark eldar torture what would it be
I wouldn't be suprised to see some skins released along new classes
Like DKoK grenadier skin or some comissar skin
Getting force fed mono molecular barbed wire I guess? And then having it all removed at once
Krieg being introduced with a class would be strange
Depends. They can make like stormtrooper class and release DKoK Grenadier skin with it
Put in a closed timeloop where you become a monster and infect yourself
Or full Kasarkin skin
Still would be a Premium skin separated from the class (as as far as we know comsetics are not class gated
Yup but connected to relased class
Not really, none of the Premium cosmetic atm are linked to the class, just the archetype
Will Krieger happen, maybe, but there is nothing pointing toward it being kept to release on a Class release or anything
It wasn't in the cosmetic leak iirc
Also if we do get painting stuff
Well DKoK are a poor mans Armageddon
Were
I will be very surprised if they are not planing DKoK, Mordian, Vostroyan and other known regiments. There was Tallarn in the leaks from what I remember
What's the 40k equivalent of this
cadians
do the primarchs take off their armor?
Yes
nice.
Fuckin typical military equipment
Always give too big or too small
This time its ogry L
Dat mustache tho
XXXXL
I remember some old 4chan post of having a giant treadmill slowly moving in a room so the person inside slowly turns into paste
Wait, forgot one more X
@storm jungle you seem like one to ponder these things, so I'll shamelessly tag you.
What do you think about that we have a Beast of Nurgle wandering about the Hive, knowing well enough creatures of the warp don't just magically appear in the materium. Secondly, the presence of Daemonhost, suggest we are possibly dealing with more than a simple Rebellion/cultist issue. From ingame voice lines, it seems rather obvious something lurks beneath the surface. No word from the Planetary Govenor, the Moebian Sixth commanding officer is still unknown and potentially Tertium being the site of a darker more sinister history than we are let on?
the Imperium does like to erase and replace history
I mean we do know that there are Chaos Xenos on the planet
We don't yet know if they are Nurgle only though but those might be the one that gave the knowledge needed
We can also see a Plaguebearer's skull in a mission
Listening to the Vox communications, it does paint a picture the cult had been there for a long time using intricate symbols to communicate.
It's not uncommon for these to go unnoticed, (given the scale of just how many cults exist within a hive city alone) but the scale of which when it all blew up, seem to point in the direction of negligence of local Imperial authority; the Planetary Governor. I could be wrong but I recall some chatter between the Rejects about Rannick having some interest there?
Which should be impossible, but eh
What would be impossible ?
Personally, I think we’re dealing with the new strain of the Blight. To my knowledge, the Blight has been mutating and becoming stronger, as well as having different effects on individuals. We’re also playing post-Great Awakening, so there’s a large population of psykers right now. When they “overload” they can be taken over by daemons, so it’s possible some of these Beasts we’re mere psykers at one point, taken over by Nurgle daemons.
mhm. It's worth noticing which kind of Daemons we encounter, to really get a sense of scale of the issue. Generally it requires a lot to summon daemons into the materium and them manifesting, so for me seeing a Beast of Nurgle, naturally made me consider how badly the situation with Tertium is.
That’s the crazy thing too. What we’re seeing is a symptom of the wider scope of the problem. With the Cicatrix Maledictum now consuming large swaths of the Galaxy, the veil between the materium and immaterium are at the thinnest they’ve probably ever been. You are 100% not wrong that seeing them so casually on Tertium is alarming, but to consider this is likely happening on all the Imperial planets within that space? We’ve got our work cut out for us lol
There’s also rumor of another Hive city on Atoma. I would be surprised if the Planetary Governor is even in Tertium.
Rumours being what they are. Personally, I would not be surprised if the Planetary Governor let it all happen for whatever nefarious means.
Same. While granted, this situation is crazy, where is the Planetary Defense Force? All we’ve seen so far are the local garrisons, who just so happen to be here when all this is going down.
Probably got ganked first
Beast of Nurgle are still lesser Daemon, it's not like we're facing Great Unclean ones
Not yet lol
As it turns out, a group of local on world civilian based defense force can be subverted by traitors.
True. And the Moebian 6th do have quite the presence here. All very sus
Almost like cannon fodder for cannon fodder isn’t made of the most loyal personnel
I do really hope we get more story soon.
Agreed. They probably are coming back from the holidays back over there
They are, of course. I am thinking more of in terms of dev time. It would be great if we got more story anytime soon, as opposed to maybe 6 or more months out.
Having the skull of the plaguebearer
Y’know you have a point. I thought daemons just went back into the warp and later rematerialized?
Daemon part staying in real space can happen
usually due to rituals
The daemon usually aren't worse off
Usually, sometime those parts don't regrow and leave scars
Yeah if you want a part of a demon typically it needs to be bound To the real world or the weapon needs to be able to actually harm demons. That’s how grey knights get those heads and shit
its not like its a consistent rule. As an idea, I'd say if the deamon transmuted through a mortal vessel, then the mortal bits could remain, just warped to resemble daemon bits.
And sometime is also intent, like knowing the Daemon's true name and wanting it dead
OHHH YEAHH, I never really get the true name stuff, it seems like it’s literally just a mcguffin
Well it's older stuff
much older than any of us
Even in old stories, names have power
Power that can protect, but also kill them
It is just old lore BS
IMHO
Like most of warp related stuff it is made so incoherent that we can justify it by being the chaos stuff
I would love something that actually say "ya know, fuck it, remove warp from everything" and instead to use it against it simply stop it, like an entire faction of blanks...
Oh, you wanna manifest power in the psychich phase? Well fuck you and the warp, you fail all rolls in such phase
Insert necron bullshit here
Necron can still be affected by warp shit, i wanna something that actually punish those that try to affect it with warp
“Necron eliminator, melee unit specialized in being a anti psychic wall.”
Basically imagine the tabletop equivalent to what the ECM is for battletech with missiles
A strangely quick unit that basically is meant to stay in cohesion with other units to protect them from Psychic AOE attacks and bullshit
Intent? Either you stick it together with your ranged units, or you run it into the wizards to bully them
Something that bugs me is the dialog from the Inquisitors staff. They all threaten to kill you, but every mission is a suicide mission. In my head, I'm like execution sounds better than whatever Nurgle is going to do to me. I would rather they try to coax you with a spot in the warband - power, drugs, and most importantly no longer being expendable cannon fodder. Stick and stick isn't as effective as carrot and stick. Maybe its not grimdark, but its more believable.
Stick vs stick makes sense, as anyone whom disagrees is a heretic
To steal a methodology from the communists and their supposed counterrevolutionaries
You forget all the people we play as are religious fanatics to an extent
They’d rather die a glorious death of redemption
Then get executed
It’s seen also in other authoritarian groups, but ive seen it in communists mostly.
Like everyone in the imperium is heavily indoctrinated
18 hour work shifts are considered normal
As are summary executions
And a day off is considered a utterly unimaginable fantasy
Yeah
The rare times it happens
Is bcs they need to fix stuff
Also “extended breaks” are usually the reward workers get
They get a 16 hour shift instead of an 18 hour one
Except they must pray for 1 hour
It’s the type of work a farmer can only know in the modern day
Yeah
Or a literal slave laborer
But people in the imperium don’t really think like most people irl
Mostly since their entire culture is about martyrdom, working till you die, Ect.
Dying in a manufacotrum is a good thing
Part of the issue people don’t get with talking about the imperium is how significantly different and horrible authoritarianism actually is, which I find is a problem of modern education and lack of cultural experience. Talk to a survivor of communism sometime to get a potential idea
Or faschism, but that’s a little harder to find thanks to the defeat of it in the 1940’s
This isn’t me just boomerposting that the “kids don’t know how good they have it”
There is no resistance, no hope, only fear, and the paranoia that your neighbor might hear something that could get misinterpreted.
Or worse, your neighbor is just jealous and lies about you
All good points and our experience would be alien to the people of 40K, but I can't help wishing I could ask "tell me more about this execution option."
Do you know the story of ciaphas Cain?
Part of the point of his character is the difference in cowardice and suicide
@north lotus I LOVE Cephas Cain. I have read six or seven of them and own the first three Omnibus. He is my favorite character in 40K. It is a crime there is no Cephas Cain mini. I would build an Astra Militarum army, if they came out with it
The point I’m making is it can get worse
WAY
WAY
WAAAAY
Worse
One word
Servitor
Most of the books are from a position of privilege, space marines, Eisenhorn, etc.
Those dialogs really capture the bleak hopelessness and irrationality for me
@north lotus If you were a servitor, would you be self aware? I don't think they are, so that doesn't sound that bad. I guess I am a Cephas Cain looking for an angle to game the system
In the Crowl novel, he tells a story about a dude who accused his mother of heresy and witchcraft so she’d get executed and he could take her hab.
Ex fuckin actly
In the Flesh And Steel novel it’s revealed that they have to be fully brainwashed and lobotomized. Self-aware servitors is considered a form of slavery.
And is illegal on some planets.
Emphasis on some
Indeed. It’s illegal on the planet that story takes place on.
But apparently that self awareness is considered the difference between a servitor and slavery.
So if we look at atoma and the servitor that mentions being lonely? Well it’s pretty obvious what happened.
@signal bramble you could argue they are legally dead, since they aren't self aware. If you are lobotomized and brainwashed, there isnt much left'
It doesn't sound half bad, once you get past the lobotomy and brainwashing
I mean if you’re not truly aware of what’s happening I suppose it doesn’t matter much.
It’s illegal on all forgeworlds funnily enough
On the other hand tech thralls are allowed
On the other hand, what are the perks of being in the Inquisitioner's warband. Eisenhorn had unlimited money and even extended the lives of some of his operatives
Each time I hit level 30, not getting executed doesn't seem like much of a reward
That's the Imperium in a nutshell- a handful of the elite standing on the backs of the poor faceless bastards that never get a shot
that is the most ironic thing i have read about 40k. most people in the imperium are chattel slaves in all but name and yet some worlds outlaw slavery? lmao
iirc the workers in a forgeworld manufactorium only get paid "money" that is only accepted in that manufactorium's shops
its the company store style of slavery
