Ravenor is a Psyker.
So. Let me recap on psykers. Basically psykers with their brain or something can tap into the warp to break normal laws of reality, but risk physical and psychological damage, and also essentially doxx themself to the warp. Right?
Basically yes
^
There are some intricacies but this is enough to understand
essentially dox themselves
That’s surprisingly lore accurate way of calling it
Lmao
So there is a reason that unsanctioned psykers are sometimes kill on sight. Basically they might suddenly blow up, get possessed, or give out your ip adress to daemons, enslavers, tyranids, or other psykers
I assume sanctioned psykers are "highly trained to not doxx themselves 24/7 and use their abilities in a safe moderation, and even then theyre one "Get out of my head" away from a botler shot to the noggin as an act of mercy"
Half of the wild psykers are not stable... the sanctioned are stable and conditioned to be the way they are after all they are trained as you have mentioned it. But they will be also shoot dead if they are doing something funky
This is why adepta soritas are hunting them and scanning them for their potential
A lot of them were "bonded" with the Emperor too
which will be sacrifieced to the good emperor
Sister of Silence, not the SoB i think
Because all it takes is one psyker going funky for an entire planet or system to get fucked over
Correct?
Potentially
Well opening a portal to the realm of chaos is never a good thing 😄
Even if in theory thats a good enough reason as any to justify gunning down most psykers
These are what can happen
https://extraheresy.fandom.com/wiki/Perils_of_the_Warp
The warp is a dangerous and unpredictable entity and every time a Psyker draws from it he risks insanity, death and ruin. When a Psyker invokes Psychic Phenomena there is a chance that it might actually indicate that something far, far worse has occurred. Psykers who have rolled 75 or more on Psychic Phenomena Table must immediately roll on Peri...
you also feel wierd around them or only around nulls?
Like at that point its reasonable. If they cant control it, it might as well be an act of mercy
Well tehy also are very useful to the IoM
Yeah. Keyword most
Id honestly consider putting a bullet in the head of a psyker absolutely fucking loosing it to be an act of mercy
Even chaos Psyker can be put to use
Like there are Warp batteries that can be powered
Sororitas isn't tasked with hunting down psykers, the adeptus astra telephatica is, and the adeptus ask the SoS to do so
Or Vortexes grenades to be made
Yes the SoS the black ships
I think they are named Anathema Sororitas or something
They are literally called Sister of Silence, and they are not part of the adeptus sororitas
They are also called the silent sisterhood
Oh god the psyker can just spontaniously get samurai jack'd
And predate even the imperium according to some theories
But they still have a latin name, but I just remember the 1st part
Anathema Psykana
Imagine your psyker just fucking yelling "Get out of my head" and just fucking vanishing.
The Black ships have nothing to do with the sororitas
Our psykers are lucky that their peril only downs em
It is all about the astra telepathtica
Most of the same can happen to Magister in fantasy
I know its just funny for a psyker to start loosing its shit and be yeeted at least a minute into the future
The psykers are being loaded on to those ships the by the Sisters of Silence ?
Imagine being a poor psyker from modern fucking day who looses their shit and suddently youre in the 41st millenium
damn i thought they would be bffs after the blood angels fought together with them
Or caught up in the middle of the horus heresy
Depends where 🙂
To be honest I would prefer being a Psyker than a Blank
Terra
I mean a blank, most people would leave me alone and i could be sneaky beaky around psykers
The psykers are first of all gathered by the planetary enforcers, then when a black ship arrive they get handled to them, the black ships have contingents of SoS that help dealing with all the psykers that transport, SoS are not part of the Adeptus Sororitas and the Sister of Battle have no duty regarding gathering psykers unless extraordinary situations, since they are crazy and fanatics they would be used to kill instead of capturing psykers
Most people hate you
Depend on the writer
Sorry there was a short story from one of the horror novels that the SoS captured them give me a second finding it
explain like im 5 blanks vs pykers?
Psykers have lots of warp presence blanks have none
blanks are like necrons?
SoS also do capture psykers yes, the rogue one, they were way more active during the great crusade doing that stuff
No. Thats the thing. Blanks can be human
Thats why its likely innately wrong
Am i correct?
It has been described as like a mannequin moving and speaking, something that shouldn't be
Basically there are 2 realities, the Materium and the Immaterium, both Psyker and Blank are human variations, one that is in opposition to the Warp, making them more resistant to it, and another being more aligned to it, making them able to move/use the Warp
Yeah as in on the "Kill it with fire" levels of uncannt
Blank occur naturally only in humans, other factions have them, but not naturally
As in the "shits spooky fight or flight" levels of uncanny
I mean, we don't have many species to count
Not just "hes weird"
Tau sorta are Blank, at least more than the normal human
So psykers have too much warp presence. But a blank has little to no warp presence
You arent friends with an entire species after helping them out.
Necron/Necrontyr had/were blank, as they implanted the Pariah gene in certain humans
Which is inately wrong
Also the Blood Angels/Necron thing wasnt an alliance
it was a teamup because they had a common enemy, both sides were prepared to fight each other afterwards
It was more a temporary truce?
yep
They aren't, they just have weak connection to the warp
Old lore than have been retconnected
Yeah its a "look we can fight later were both fucked if we dont work together right noe"
The Nothings by Alec Worley this was the story
Blanks have no presence in the warp
Which is innately wrong as everyone else does
It's still sorta there, just that not all Blank have that gene
No no, it was literally retconnected it being a gene that necrons implanted in humans... Necrons got blackstone to counter the warp now
The Exorcists are closer to being blanks than the T’au due to artificial means and even then they aren’t blanks
Im not a biologist so lol
So sentient. Does it have to be fully sapient or
Fully sapient
in theory yes
It's emotions that matter
And some doggo have a lot of specific emotions
To any being with a soul, the presence of a blank provokes irrational feelings of unease and hostility. These feelings may be mild in regular people, but in psykers they are unbearably strong. Blanks have a difficult time getting along with people, so they tend to lead short, unhappy lives, often on the fringes of society
Either way humans are innately hardwired to tell when somethings off from baseline human. So seeing someone who has no fucking warpnpresence...
We haven't seen Psyker Doggo
Psyker doggo is a nightmare
So, it is just mild in regular people, and blanks could live relatively "normal" lifes
Because no way will the good boi be able to control it
Living Saint Doggo
But blanks basically cause a panic in a psyker because their warp presence is basically radio static
Aka. Not there
Sorry to interupt. Maybe that's stupid question but what's the difference between flamer we have in game and melta that we are still waiting to be added?
Basically
Melta hotter
melta shoots a beam that instant-heats up + melts something
hence the melt in melta
Nah the war of the worlds one atomizes you
Weren't the Gaus gun from the Necron inspired by WotW ?
Actually the necrons greenish design reminds me of the wotw musical
I didn't know there was one
can tyranids evolution help them protect against necron weapons?
Melta are basically Plasma guns but instead of having Magnetic coils to shoot the payload all at once it's a Hairdryer that push the Melta continuously
Heat ray
i think yes since this is their nature but how much dead nids is needed to evolve is a good question
Possibly, hasn't happened yet i think
Evolution can only theoreticly go so far
I don't think they can
It is not like making harder shells or making your muscle better
I doubt you can naturally evolve to be able to survive a nuclear bomb point blank for example
Usually
Necrons weapons work on a molecular level iirc, there is nothing that biologically speaking can protect you from that
Yeah but that would be extremely metabolism inneficient
That could work, if you can make something take the hit before it hit you
And tbh, zoanthropes already do that
Maybe just being so chonky the necrons run out of ammo before it hits anything vital?
It would be more a thing you use to intercept the ray, but it need to be enough mass to stop the ray instead of just being consumed by it
Their ammo is energy, and they have no shortage of it
Hm
Real life example in nuclear submarine they have detected a new subspecie which is tolerant to gamma rays, so we are pushing it to the limits.. if one single nid organism survives after a nuclear blast ( Real life example in Hiroshima, girl in black dress) we can argue they can evolve
Just being fuckhuge would give some resistance. Or being incredibly dense
Did it survive the blast point blank
Nuclear bombs don't just kill by radiations, they also kill by pressure alone
They could adapt to radiation no problem, but about explosive force? Maybe, but that would require lot of biomass to just make a super dense organism
Theres also a certain area where shit gets outright vaporized isnt there
Yes, so even heat become something to worry about
Like im wondering if tyranids can evolve to surviving direct contact with a star
as to where she was in the explosion and did she was hit by aftershock it's a good question
dunno they would burn to death i don't think they are attracted to the sun
One thing we know is that they couldn't adapt to fire in the sky during a siege of a forge world
And then died
And the forge world was saved
It was a nice story
One that actually made some sense
Also speaking of contact with a star, warp travel navigators. Do they use precognition or some shit ala dune?
https://reliefweb.int/report/world/meeting-bomb-survivor-after-76-years-testimony-hope This tells her story
Or do they just steer ship using emperor as a point of refrence
Emperor mainly
So they basically use emperor as the zero on the warp psionic grid cordinates and help navigate warp unless gellar fields decide to fucking flicker for a picosecond
This is how i understand it
In case of gellar fields flickering for a picosecond everyones fucked
that happens 50% of the time when a ship is missing 😄 after warp jump
its less "Oh shit the gellar fields out" and more "Fuck the power must have fucking flickered for a picosecond the ships flooded with Horrors beyond human comprehension"
I think's most Horror starts rightaway and the ship crew is already doomed, by the chaos goods i don't think they have a second to understand what happened but maybe i am wrong i would have to see what is happening in the flight of the eisenstein since they are travelling there in the warp and also on the battle for the abyss. There are some references to ships what are happening when the geller is off give me a second
Even when the trip is "safe" people who are weak can be pick out by deamons
"Tonite on peacemallet 40k, I get piss drunk and take the inquisitors Cathedral ship into the warp with the gellar fields hooked up to a potato"
this is accurate
No they can penetrate it if there is sorcerry in it
or if the gellar field flickers for a microsecond
People like to make it sound all horrible, but the truth is that most of warp travels are fine
yeah.
Well, that is just inviting them
its like nuclear reactors. its safe when they work properly
but when it goes to shit it really goes to shit
^^
Spoiler : ||The Furious Abyss sends daemons at the Wrathful which break through its Geller field and attack the crew.|| From the Battle for the Abyss HH
Hell, we even have stories of people repelling demons during warp travels lol
no clue how much canon is from Ben Counter though
like, most nuclear reactors for example, are relatively safe, have safety measures, and especially nowadays, have failsafes in case things go wrong. but if somethings significantly fucked well
One thing is a demon, another is a demon used as a fokken prjectile lol
we can get shit like 3 mile island or chernobyl
but the fact these are exceptions and not the rule still stands
Fukushima
that too
Remember, demons can go through gellar fields, if they have a physical body or a physical anchor
forgot that
Gellar fields are just a bubble of realspace
But if a demon is already possessing a body they care not about the gellar field, they already breached the materium and already got a physical anchor
see
But imagine being some poor techpriest who accidentally bumps into a servo skull related to the gellar field
True
A tech priest would never do such thing, the other workers on the other hand... Did you know about gellerpox?
Yes papa nurgle always making something new and fun...
In other words you are never safe in W40K
honestly the best way to enjoy life in 40k is to be an ork
Well, yes and no, i like to use it to learn the importance of proper maintenance, since if the gellar field was truly well maintained not even whispers would be heard
Orks are the best faction because they're overall having a good time
some orks are even in paradise now, well ork paradise
Basically Valhallah yeah
The best way to enjoy W40k is somewhere on a medialval world where there is no corruption or emperium...
Orks have: A functioning economy. Are actually having a good time. Actually enjoy combat.
But for Humans, well don't get born in the underhive or lower hive
especially not on terra
Or just fuck off into the fringes of the galaxy away from all civilization and hopefully find a decent world out there
civilized worlds might be ok
Best bet for a human would be in a long forgotten super advanced world with no ties to the imperium
death worlds... depending on the world the underhive might be more safe
Ancient tech vault?
forge world.... underhive might look like paradise now
Hell, even a millennium without the imperium might improve drastically the situation on some worlds
Forge worlds are just planet sized OSHA Violations
or if you have to live on a hive world hope its in the realm of ultramar or one of the rarest types of hive worlds
Imagine a splinter faction which due to being on the other side of the eye of terror broke off from the fucking imperium
paradise hive worlds... if they exist anymore, if I'm not mistaken Krieg was once such a world
Interex? maybe
not like, chaos corrupted fully, more "Pst inquisitors and central government are asleep. time to post reasonable policy"
well most civilized worlds are good enough that you enjoy a relative good live, not as good as many today, but totally livable
I wonder if the techpriests on mars have gaming servoskulls
on hive cities, you don't want to be on underhive and certainly not on the spire
Isnt the spire top of government where the heehee funny political assassinations and bullfuckery happen
and undercity is just insert constantly joked about city here ^50
Nah, i was referring to adrantis five with that exact phrase
yes, and there might be more heresy involved than what we see in darktide now
underhive is what I imagine favelas on a giant sale are
Honestly sometimes while the inquisitors are... overzealous, they may be a net positive, especially if they focused their zeal to more major issues
spire is cool af if you somehow avoid all the game of thrones backstabing
it is in fact, ULTRA cool
but that's a big IF
try avoiding game of thrones there
Spire is just "Oops all political assassinations"
you either have to somehow be some shadowy mystery which nobody knows about
or out political skullfucekry everyone else
I described a noble feast to my rpg players as "Weapons are not the most dangerous things humanity has created here, watch your drinks acolytes"
i think that's pretty accurate
Not all you have branches Puritans and Radicals
Not to mention there's likely at least occasionally some revolutionary forces in hive cities
correct?
chaos or no?
Example some branch belived that the Emperor will reincarnate
yeah, some are overzealous and would bump their head on the big exterminatus button everytime someone reads porn if they wouldn't be declared traitor after this, but most inquisitors are doing their job in keeping the imperium safe and their work safes billions of souls
revolutionary forces almost never reach the spire
in game, pysker even mentions this. The nobles at the top probably haven't realised hell's going loose down there
question is, is the new map middle class hive or upper hive?
i'd say middle-upper
Well then, they need to start learning on how to sabotauge the top politicians - I think its the church district
mid upper, likely
In terms of hierarchy in a more medieval place, Those who are in charge are up top, with the church somewhere near the top
so middle to upper middle class then, still a big success on the traitors part
yeah
Actually, some of the tox flamers cowls look... slightly like zealot cowls
the traitors don't fuck arround at all
but if the update text is to believed they overstreched their lines a bit getting there
Like if it wasnt for the rebellion being backed by fucking nurgle
I'd probably be rooting for them
they can summon daemons into pyskers creating daemonhosts, and spawn powerful daemons like beasts
good chance they have some sorcerers
plot twist: The rebellion's leaders look surprisingly pink or pale, some have 4 arms
also, on that note, rune talk again. the rune for "Plaguebearer" actually comes up sometimes in maps
Rebellions that aren't aligned to any major power don't make it far as you need backing to take a full planet, and even if you do, without alignment you are fucked. They're coming back and you have a destroyed planet to defend
you need some forbiden knowledge to shove a daemon up someones ass
The main problems with rebellions are that they usually get overtaken or turned into a change in management even if sucessful, or are involved in proxy wars. and this time its daemons and tyranids do a funny
The most succesful non-aligned rebellion were the imperium secundus (kinda), and the severan dominate
that I know
Also most of the text chaos runes are pretty generic. "Death to the false emperor, Maim murder kill destroy ravage "
"Plague death kill"
and yeah, most rebellions get hijacked by chaos
stuff like that
first one is iffy, second one this rebellion managed to overtake a whole sector which is a BIG achivment.
to be fair you'd expect tzeentch to be more willing to sponsor a rebellion
or. anyone OTHER than nurgle
Tzeentch would sponsor both sides
Tzeentch would sponsor both sides just to see what happens
not really, the gods don't really meddle in mortal affairs, we're ants to them. The mortals discover how to use chaos and get corrupted by it
they just go "we need soemthing to win this war, we're losing"
my brother in chaos undivided the emperor cancer and leporasy are not good forms of painlessness and immortality
well the gods are now trying to get some planets in real space thanks to the bid chaos tear through the milky way making it easier for daemons to materialize
you just outed yourself slaneesh, don't shove your kinks up our asses please
Some people find nurglings cute.
me. I see a soccerball or a rugby ball
I want to punt them
just use napalm
Again, the gods almost never look at the mortal plane. Individual daemon lords may, but most of the time it's just mortals finding out you can get more power if you start using chaos. Eventually they cannot control it and get corrupted
I want to punt a nurgling to see how far it flies
this is... cruel
have plot armor, even if you wish it doesn't exist
does plot armor save u in this story? lol
speaking of plot armor, uh, Theres one really funny way to utilize plot armor
which just makes a character miserable
dont let them die but everyone around them is fair game
and is in fact more likely to die
and do it to an extreme extent
how long until he gives into despair
dont let them die but everyone around them is fair game
theres a char today i linked like that today he was cursed by that chaos god but if u beat him he makes u suffer lol
I'd give a specific example but it'd be a chainsaw man spoiler
Sorry but to be a smelly beast does not seem fun to me 😄
till you rot away from pox 😄
But theyre cute c'mon 😦

☝🏿 See?
The only cute part about them is when they die after being shooted
speaking of guns, do you think we will get access to some xenos guns? I mean Grendyl doesn't seem to look like a puritan inquisitor, especially with the amount of verbal leeway we do have
When they are burned to smoke and ashes😄
We will see but i also think he/she is a Radical Inquisitor so we might see some wierd stuff going around
Question is, what type of Radical Inquisitor
A Radical is an agent of the Imperial Inquisition who turns to methods, tools, and ideologies forbidden by the Imperial Creed, choosing instead to turn the darkness of Chaos, xenos, witches and other enemies of Humanity against themselves
We can say that he is radical since he does not know if we are loyal or not he uses us to run some errands little cares about us
Tiktok videos are a bannable offense
||This is a joke||
Like Erebus?\
Plenty of Imperial guns & stuff to get beforehand
there was a subset of Radical Inquisitors that thought shoving daemons into a neophytes body was nice
Erebus is a different thing
Are you saying like a Psyker than?
shorts or tiktoks?
I wouldn't call it errands. what we are doing is more like special forces stuff
i assume u meant shorts
Anything we've seen in the game atm isn't really radical
Spolier Eisenhorn is a radical since he made a deamon host Cherubael in his friend so there is that
Asshole mostly 😄
Like using Convicts isn't really out of the question, see Penal regiments
Well a Puritan would have most likely shot the psyker, especially the loner psyker for heresy
I haven't read the book yet dammit
we don't see a lot from the inqusition but this is my vibe from her
Sorry
Is that in the book or lore at large?
Got a question guys i'm getting into the lore recently, is the emperor related to sigmar ?
No
No
Warhammer and Warhammer 40k are two diff universes
Maybe, but atm we have nothing pointing 1 way or another
fair enough, but the inquisotrs I mentioned were more than successfull and created an anti daemon chapter with it^^
Warhammer and Warhammer 40k are same characters/themes however. Sigmar is a warhammer thing @shut garden
Yes true at most we can say that he is not an extrimist puritan
Well not even that
Emperor is a 40k thing
oh ok theirs actualy no bound lorewise between warhammer and 40k ?
Using Convict in probable death mission is totally ok in the Imperial Truth
Some heretics can be redeemed
Just the chaos gods existing in both universes for tabletop reasons so people can use daemon/chaos armies, otherwise no connection.
By giving their life for the emperor
40K was originally a lot more similar to just Fantasy but in space
Having the convict return to ship after he talks about the CORPSE EMPEROR, is not really puritan
Once upon a time it was said that Fantasy is in W40K but that is retconned and it is separate universe
They changed a lot since but there's still remnants
Gameplay =/= Lore
Comisar would have shot them 🙂
Remeber these people are already going to prison so they are not going to be 100% pure and not say things that we might deam heretical
not just the commisar 🙂
A Zealot for sure...
There is no commissar on the ship
also like
yall do realise a psyker isnt just gonna stand still right
Who knows 🙂
We mostly do 🙂
To our resident lore buffs: what would be some good reasoning for Adeptus Mechanicus to get involved in Atoma Prime/the Moebian Domain? You think it'd be plausible to one day introduce the Skitarii as a playable class? I'd REALLY love to play as one but I'm not so sure the narrative of 'Rejects' would fit a Skitarius lol
Having seen no Commissar, we can mostly deduce there aren't any, and do Inquisitorial troops have attached Commissar ? (Scions, not us)
we don't know the inner circle of Grendyl's inner circle
That doesnt really matter with the game so yeah
well not now
That is true but we have to wish for some cool characters 😄
??
The Admech could have a Forge World, but as playable class, the most likely choice would be a Tech Menial, they are low enough that the Admech wouldn't care about us
We know that tech adepts can end up in penal regiments, but the source for that was also before Ad. Mech. became its own thing in itself
Ooo okay. So there's a chance
so.. some old lore that might not be canon anymore
This is an issue all the time example istvann 5 drop site massacre different loyal astartes killed from the books, battle
Yes, there is a chance, it is big? No. will it be soon? Also no
Yes and no, it might be old, but still canon, as now we know that the Ad. Mech. tend to solve all its own stuff with its own internal organizations
Yeah, Gw sometimes, retcons stuff and then retcons the retcons because the initial retcon was stupid as hel.
And i haven't checked the updated post 😦
haha yeah. I just remember seeing concept art of some vaguely tech-priesty looking character with a servo skull AND the fact that the game has departed from the usual 5 playable classes down to four (with a total of 5 character slots! Makes me suspicious)
Well they wanted to make rejects play but in reality they could have made 5 characters, Inqusitor, Psyker, Assassin, Adept, etc
You do good at being suspicious, and if you want feel free to drop your theory of how a tech savvy archetype or class could be implemented in #theorycrafting, let me tell you that you aren't the only one asking or hoping for such an archetype or class
but it seems this is the way they wanted to push the story
The devs always wanted to make us play some low level people
lmao awesome, and thank you.
and I still see people who want space marines as a playable class in darktide
Heretics are everywhere sadly
sorry but they are cool and i can be hated for it we will never see them in this game though
Not really
they arent in the game because Marines are overexposed
has nothing to do with hate
Space Marine 2 will be where we can play Astartes
Yup yup
Space Marines are cool, but we have so much stuff on space marines, getting the chance to play something more grounded is quite refreshing
Although i would love a game with guard or skitarii similar to Space marine
yeah but from arch enemy this is where we will be
and makes people who meme guardsmen as incompetent fools who can't do shit look silly
you will never see gaurd fight a nurgle infected SM since he has no chance\
Indeed, what people don't get is that there are lots of conflicts that are solved by the guard only, or even the PDF to be fair, but those conflicts doesn't make for interesting stories for many, so they aren't told
i understand that this way they have opened how other members of the emperium are fighting it
You do, and you also see the guard win
yeah, the guard is more competent and their weapons more powerful than people think, also the guard can call in the big guns
maybe there are books where they are fighting chaos marines i havent read a lot of imperial guard books so maybe my vision is flawed
Remember it is not the SM that hold the line against the darkness, it is not them keeping the horrors at bay
Well, for one there are the gaunt's ghost series, where the guard do some nasty work on some SM, like ambushing them
some lasguns patterns do have different kill settings, with one strong enough to pierce an astartes armor, but normally not used because it puts a lot of strain onto the lasgun
Or making their head explode with full charge lasbolt to the face at close range
or use hellguns and long las
Also interesting detail, theres actually serial numbers on some lasgun weapons
it's not about agree or disagree I enjoy the concept i enjoy that we are not poster boys but i am missing a real plot line
would game art details go into theorycrafting though
and even the normal lasgun can penetrate astartes armor.. just need a lucky weakspot shot
the whole plot in the game is we don't trust you level up cut scene and that's it i was hoping for more it's a me problem and it's just my subjective view point
the story feels short
Well, the plot progression is left for the seasonal stuff... I think and hope at least
the whole plot right now is more environmental lore, hope that we will get more story in the future
Because, as it is now, it is short
Having us play as low lives let us face enemies that would otherwise be very useless
to be fair, at lvl 30 we aren't low lives anymore, and some of the enemies we fight might even give an astartes some trouble
At level 30 as zealot i'm 99% sure i was just promoted to being officially part of the inquisition
yeah and that's it 🙂 you will die or die trying to save tertium but that's it
we are just canon fodder
Don't spoil the ending 😄
And hey, going down in a hail of gunfire or lasgun fire isnt the worst way to go in 40k
cannon fodder for missions that are more for specialists^^
I'm spoiling YOUR ending
Everyone dies eventually (save for some lucky/unlucky fuckers)
Inqusition Grendyl the lucky one 😄
is he a perpetual?
as long as you die fast and don't get captured by your enemies
You get to be part of the Warband
Comparing to the reject has a much higher life expectancy it's relative
RIP my hommie
Lord Horrik Canorem, Son of High King Valorik Canorem, High Prince of House Canorem, Master of the Blade of Gaia, Keeper of the Gates of Loralo, Wielder of the Kaloric Flame, Bringer of Hope, Herald of the Holy Order of the Adamantine Lance, The Paladin of Koto, Slayer of the Lion of Essa, The Triumphant! The Light of Stars! The Eradicator!
rip
It just means the inquisition did jt
Anything retconned means the inquisition did it. Even if it's lore from other factions.
Would be great for us to reach the rank of explicator or even interrogator
Like zola
Im pretty sure zola was a criminal too
whats worse the guard or being a reject
Better punishment is death
than being in the guard?!
Being a guard is better
Atleast you get to explore planets, even if you die in 5 seconds
In the battle
Its better to be a part of the imperial guard than be a criminal
why didnt they do what they did in halo
kidnap a bunch of kids and turn them into space marines
would that work?
and were still losing??
Lol
god this universe is fked
You're fighting enemies with better tech than you
forget this im going back to halo universe
And space wizards
also whats the life expetance of a space marine on average?
300 years
does anyone knows what this is lore wise?
Thats the average life span of an imperial noble
Most space marines die in battle
Perhaps a data hub built from servitors
how safe are u generally as a space marine? from 1 to 10 from danger sources?
Uhh
If it turns out Angron is responsible for merking Yarrick, I need to see Ghazghul seeking revenge for killing his homie-sexual life partner eternal bitter enemy
I love how hadron proposes solution to fix things by reboot, it doesnt change even in 40k
You still have blood flowing
Space Marines are stupidly hard to kill
two hearts are not very biologically viable, but i guess emperor found a way to make it work
But a volleyfire of lasgun and a good hit will kill a spacemarine
Science Magic
what if was a necron and shot them with my gun, what happens to them
Well their bodies are more larger than a human build
Just noticed you have an Ad. Mech. profile image, noice
Melt obviously but they probably can still live
holy crap
Mechanicus all the way baby
yes
and btw
cog boys are the best
Praised be the Omnissiah!
this marine in this trailer is 100 years old https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3DsHGDRQ5M
Check out what it looks like when a Space Marine gets armored up for the first time in this lastest Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Trailer.
looks nothing past 35 years old
So a good headshot is what kills space marines
Even primarchs can die from a regular human
how durable are primeachs?
Konrad kurze died from a human assassin
i take he is getting such a ritualised armouring since it may be the first time he gets in armour since he crossed the rubbicon
Mate, space marines can die if you pierce their brain or make them cease vital functions, yes
he's an exception
Like the emperor
he crossed the rubbicon
i'd say
They never die
explain in english pls what u meant by "he crossed the rubbicon"
They'll just reincarnate iirc
he turned from a firstborn marine to a primaris marine
a dangerous process, and one that puts you out of service for a good while
do i have to google some of this stuff can I jus task more?
ask
what do you mean by firstborn marine
he turned from a firstborn marine to a primaris marine
?
Basically a new space marine
Bunny im gonna say again
Im gonna guess
read the bloody wiki
oh
or a fookin book
I read the wiki lol
First born are the marines that are like how the emperor made the first ones
Primaris is an improved (almost seen as heretical) version with more organs invented by mechanicus mad scientist bellasarius cawl
in a nutshell
The emperor would approve of the primaris
yes, he would. He would also aprove of people not calling him a god, sadly he cannot speak
Seeing Belisarius being called a mad scientist is quite funny
all mechanicus magos are one way or another
A Firstborn is a Space Marine that hasn't had the biological upgrade to becoming a Primaris. These older-gen Space Marines are able to become Primaris, but the process is dangerous with a fairly high failure rate.
Chill, let's not gatekeep the hobby to extinction.
@storm jungleim reading this book but it dosent have that much space marine lore
i like necrons so i bought htis book
oh yeah, great book to learn about necrons
Wat
You are on the path to redemption
obviously you won't learn much about marines there
im gonna join the necrons forget humanity lol
They asked a pretty innocent question and you responded pretty harshly
fk da emperor
necrons are too cool
I will buy a wh40k book the day they allow emperor tts to come back
I miss emperor tts

I dont know how saying someone to read a site with clear information compared to a chaotic discord chat is gatekeeping but alright

Damned frogs
Old ones didnt help necrons
WHY on earth didnt they just HELP
Well, they will exist because of the frog not helping anyway
is easier to talk to a person than searching for a tiny detail yourself
generally
Old ones remind me of stellaris fallen races
Really big frogs
Cold hearted frogs
They indeed were
is there any old ones left? like just a single one out there hiding somewhere?
just like one maybe?
emp is just middle aged man looking guy bad at parenting
most likely, or just an incredibly powerful pysker trying his best to not let humanity die through VERY questionable means
and his "not nice but sometimes necesary" empire turned into what we have now in 40k c:
more like very bad and not at all necessary
Well emperor had his sons whisked away by Erda
The mom of the primarchs
Emperor probably did in vitro fertilization with Erda probably
It’s not really clear what the process was but they used the genetics of both of them
Cause its kinda impossible to have an icosahuplets (word i made up for 20 kids born from the same mother on the same day)
But they still custom made some kinda of warp beings wrapped in flesh who were very very different
And there’s also some implied bits where they physically adapted to their planets and would have been very different on Terra
But it’s not clear
Anyways the emperor's children still deserved fatherly love even if they were made by him using his genes
He shouldn't have treated them like a creation for his means
He didn’t often, it just depends on the story
The big thing is he didn’t consider anything being worth more than his goal, including himself
crazy question what happens if i was a human
in the 40k universe
and i had a disease dying and i begged for nurgal to save me
would he call out to me and save me?
nvm going back to worship tzeetch
screw nurgal tzeetch is better
You become a big nerd
Or an autist
Which is a win I guess
Not that bad
But tzeench likes to lie in your face
Likes to do some trickery
He turned the thousand sons legion into dust
@vocal drum
He turned the thousand sons legion into dust
:monka
@crimson dragondoes he make his followers immortal?
Yes, somewhat
They can still be killed but Sorcerer have arcane ways to summon them out of time itself or something to recall them
Though they are no more than simple Automatons
Ahriman is the one at fault, and not so long ago Yvraine turned a few back to Flesh SM
"Scream in desperation for me Rubriiiiiiiiics!"
@celest domeso if i was a average human in 40k universe
i could worship tzeench
and gain immortality?
If you play vermintide 2
Then you would know
One of the bosses you fight
Is a chaos spawn
You become one of them
nah
regular disease you die and your soul zoops out of your body and is eaten by daemons
nurgle’s rot and your soul get zooped to nurgle’s garden where it becomes a seed for one of these guys
worshipping tzeentch sucks almost as bad because when you die your soul equally gets eaten by daemons but they look and sound like birds which i imagine is pretty annoying
generally chaos in 40k is a little less “faust deal with the devil” and a little more “what if meth made you evil?”

Tzeench doesnt care about saving you
He will tell you lies
But thats all
Nurgle as bad as it would seem, nurgle actually cares about you
He loves all life
Though the problem is
He loves every living equally
That means parasites are also his beloved
That means feeding those parasites
But because of the rot, you would not feel pain
You are also not likely to die anymore
Or even if you do die, it will be painless.
Since your nerves would have rotten off
The smell would also not be unbearable since your nose would've rotten off aswell
Like some of the scabs and dregs you see.
Yeah
were once human that now follow nurgal?
dosent nurgal care that im killing his followers?
The scabs and dregs were nurgle cultist
The poxwalkers are zombies
That got infected with the disease that the dregs and scabs spread
With the train cutscene
That you saw
Those are pox bombers
also do high aliens with good technoloy have a cure for this plague?
Its a punishment for refusing nurgle
like necrons/elders?
Uh
Idk
Isha probably does have a cure
Nurgle's waifu
She whispers the cure to people
But shes an eldari goddess
So she probably only gives the cure to eldars
lol this universe is hilarious and depressing
do tyranids mess with nurgal ?
to his plague!?
Well they'll die at first
But they adapt
And develop antibodies
Which is spread by the hivemind
And they become immune
No who wins is determined by who wins the fight
death to tyranids
Tyranids are just following the hiveminds instincts
It's cold outside, let them in
if tyranids can evolve to counter that level of plague and grossness whats stopping them from evolving to counter necron weapons and beat them?
and ruling the universe
its not so much that they resist disease. they get merced hard by bio weapons
I like to think of the hivemind as the brain and the tyranids as organd or cells forming the entire system of their species
so the hivemind is hungry thats why it eats?
Or a drone
not the actual tyranids?
That refuses the hivemind
the individual tyrannoforms are just bugs
it takes a synapse creature to invoke the hive mind
do we know where they come from?
yeah extragalactic
Another galaxy
south of the galactic plane into milky way
Im not sure if they came from the andromeda galaxy
they dont
do people in the 40k universe wanna know about the tyranid origins? or are they happy with the mystery of them right now
some inquisitors know
i'd imagine the high lords too
rowboat.
etc. the imperium has anti tyranid strategies
but dont tyranids evolve to counter those?
I heard that daot humans have also had colonies in other galaxies
mostly they are fought w/ scorched earth policies
I wonder what the emperor planned to do with them.
remove all the biomass from the planet and the tyranids can't use it
or the Imperium has tried to redirect them into things like Ork space as in Octarius
which ended up a huge mess as the Orks got bigger and the Tyranids more juiced up
how do orks fair against tyranids?
lore or tabletop
lore
Theyre both cancerous growth
i assume they do good because of their imagination
They have no good intellect
the hivemind just outsmarts them?
uh
not really
they fight with like, claws and shit against orks
it's a net gain for tyranids because they reduce reuse recycle
Orks are never beaten
You ever think the Chaos gods are also busy managing and spreading chaos across other galaxies as well
They're bugs drawn to the astronomicon like moths to a giant light bulb
Chaos doesn't manage
It just is
canon that yes
I think the chaos gods focus on the milky way because theres an eye of terror
this galaxy is like a corner game
It's the warp-realspace interface that causes problems
Or a hole in the fabric of reality
ive heard that before what is the eye of terror mean
So they can exist in our galaxy
nah, that's common everywhere
what is that tho?
the chaos gods are omnidimensional
eye of terror
The eye of terror is a giant warp storm im the middle of the galaxy
Chaos gods target and plan things. I consider that managing. They orchestrated the Horus heresy over thousands of years
Eldars basically did so much guro porn
It's a place where the warp snd reality coexists
That uhh
holy crap
It's also where the losing side of the civil war ran way to hide in
oh yeah i reada bout that, all the pleasures elders were doing and it caused billions to die?
Where the warp seeps through
Time flows differently in the warp so some haven't really been there very long
see, in the Eye Abaddon becomes his full size
here is is crushing a world in his fist
he's like a shrinky-dink
I think that's more of a prophetic vision
but instead of sponge and water it's abaddon and the Eye
is that storm going to consume the galaxy or something?
no, this is actual depiction of Abaddon at full scale. he grows every crusade in proportion to his power
then he shrinks again
for the tabletop ya know
that's what happened to Cadia he just grabbed it
with his big hand
Yes, every plsyer tjat gets real mad and shovess over his opponent's minis is actually abbadon manifesting
If he stomps on them it's the foot of gork
chaos makes you literally that large
angron is at this very moment the size of the solar system
that's how he's going to walk to Macragge that fast
Angron, sometimes called the "Red Angel," and originally named Angronius of Nuceria, the "Lord of the Red Sands," is the primarch of the World Eaters ...
well okay
looks like hes using that weapon that the one chaos god uses
that sword if it cuts u, u never stop bleeding
i just found out yesterday thats a thing
btw and i got it from here

Glass plague

As always, t...
these race of aliens are messed up
Idk why you expect anything to not be fucked up except the tau lol
Tau are also fucked up
do they torture people like dark elders?
I mean I think everyone tortures people. But nobody does it like the dark Eldar
but if tau meet humans in space what is the intraction like
kil on sight?
like if ur a peaceful human and come across them
Attempted conversion to joining the Tau empire. Followed by a branching path of
No -> war
Yes -> oppressive government
The tau sterilize non-tau
Has the sterilization thing even been brought up again from Fire Warrior?
Your also basically a second class citizen in tau society unless you are a tau
Which on the 40k spectrum
At least you get to be a citizen lol
In the imperium you are just a cog in the machine that makes other machines that kill stuff.
can I just leave the milky way galaxy and find a region of space free from this depressing life style?
Orks
they will spot me?
Theyre probably everywhere
Theres orks and tyranids
Choas realm
Orks have spread to every corner of the milky way there's no real reason they wouldn't be outside of it either
im a bit new to 40k but why do space wolf have wrap resistance?
lame
Cause they prefer sandwiches
Tyranids came from outside
to our knowledge only the tyranids
There's some theories they are running from something else but thats mostly just speculation
what bothers me is, what if they already conquered everything outside the milky way?
theres also theories about that
and the milky way is the only thing left
that too
I doubt it
and im not talking about galaxies im talking the universe
Nah, we literally see an event in the Horus Heresy alert them to us
same
40k is insanely sad
no food left
They would develop farming practices probably
theres a theory the astronomican may have acted like a beacon in a storm and led the tyrannids to us from everywhere, and they somehow overlooked us
Cultivate biomass
but thats heretical and so obviously i a loyal servant of the throne wouldnt give any sustenance to
:monka: but that would still have to deal with the necrons and tau and chaos gods
and orks too
Orks are basically an infinite source of biomass
^
whaa REAL?
their spores can even survive less harsh parts of space
tyranids can beat up orks?
as in like asteroid fields
I mean tyranids and orks are very similar in a way
Yeah
the whole octarius war is just orks and tyrannids in a stalemate
They took over Octarius
cus they both fight so good
In the Octarius warzone book
^
They destroyed the main ork planet and are nowing running amok
and the hive mind is 100x smarter
cus they were made to be genetic war machines
Orks have a lot of dakka
Orks and tyranids kind of cancel each other out. Cause infinite foight and infinite biomass. It's a fucking perpetual motion machine!
most people are smarter than orks
^^^^^^
but orks are just unga enough to make up for it
plus the old ones master designed the orks to be a passive war machine localized on a species scale
a hive mind that controls trillions of tyranids across the galaxy at every second got statemated by orks?
yup
Orks are actually smarter than they look
not to mention sometimes theyre so stupid it loops around to being smart
Do orks actually create biomass? I was under the impression that they still need to, y’know, eat
Thats how they managed to besiege the Imperium all at once
or are smart, just not in a way we usually understand
plus they used to be crazy smark back in the war in heaven
they just work on different ways.
Orks and creation of energy are weird sci fi hullshit
They're plants therefore biomass.
do we have a tierlist on which races are the strongest
It's stupid but it works
despite all fucking laws of physics
Plants do not pull biomass out of nowhere
it works
oh dont forget the ork latent pyschic energy that allows them to unintentionally alter the laws of reality
Scientifically speaking they should not be able to have exponential growth on their scale but they do because its 40k and 40k is dumb
They get energy from the sun
Orks still eat
That's a bad idea because every faction is as strong as the author needs it to be for the story to happen.
We see them eating humans
Orks are FUNGI not plants
do orks torture races like dark elders?
Yes
they eat their own fungus and their fungus is resilient as hell so its sort of an infinite closed loop
Squigs are lorewise delicious
IIRC they enjoy fight and kill more
It's what powers their war machines. Concentrating orks togethers makes violent machines of war just work for no reason
They're a weird mix of fungi, plants, and animals
