Tzeentch isn't always cloak and dagger. The dude fucking loves war because war brings about change

astral whale
#

What games?

wild plinth
#

I think Khorne is a very good option as they do not have to be all mad bloodthirsty. They do have some very dedicated Chaos IG groups that are all super martial organzied

arctic talon
astral whale
#

Dawn of War II CR- Ulkair
We do not talk about Kyras. Fuck Kyras.

arctic talon
#

Lol

#

Khorne doesn’t hate psykers

#

He hates sorcerers

#

Big difference

arctic talon
#

Funny joke

astral whale
#

There was no third dawn of war.

#

If any of you insist that there was a third the Inquisition might have to purge this chat.

worn pagoda
#

Not all of Khorne's worshippers are particularly angry when they come to his cults.

#

Positive emotions and thoughts are as easily manipulated by the Chaos Gods as negative ones.

astral whale
#

Either way. DOW II CR - Ulkair was the big bad.
Kyras was a demon of Khorne. He is the exception.

Space Marine- Mostly Bloodletters although isn’t the main bad supposed to be a black Legionary of Chaos Undivided?
Inquisitor Martyr- Nurgle.
Eisenhorn: Slaaneshis made several appearances.

Idk about Fire Warrior. Didn’t play that one.

crisp heath

Slaanesh would make the game hard to sell to kids

#

Edlritch Hedonist Horror

ruby sparrow
#

A slaaneshi game is just cruelty squad

astral whale
#

A Slaaneshi game would probably be the controls are all fucked up and it’s DS1 levels of difficulty while you are on six different hard drugs.

ruby sparrow
#

So, Cruelty squad.

astral whale
wild plinth
#

Rapidly alternates from super bright to pitch black

ruby sparrow
#

Once again

#

Cruelty squad

storm jungle
#

Not her fault the internet is filled with coomers

wind heron
storm jungle
#

Same with 40k

ruby sparrow
#

Slaanesh is just a fucking vtuber

wind heron
#

Absolutely, people obsess over horny becayse they horny. Its not everything Slaanesh is.

storm jungle
#

Hedonism surpasses sex every time since its so basic in the list of desires humans have so yeah

astral whale
wind heron
#

thats just one many sensations

ruby sparrow
#

People obsess over horny because its funny to see slaanesh shit as "Horni on main" instead of Hm yes today I will play cruelty squad to relax my eyeballs

wind heron
#

Pride is a Sensation

plush mason
ruby sparrow
#

Just go to extremes

astral whale
wind heron
#

The thrill of battle is a sensation and probably why Slaanesh has so many duelists.

plush mason

thats my point. if you arent living in poverty you are a hedonist

Avg Slaaneshi low tierboss: Im gonna 1v999,9999,999 all of you!

astral whale
#

Lucius should be pretty easy to kill. I mean the Necrons BY ALL MEANS should be able to kill him.

wild plinth
#

Lucius is easy to kill. The trick is keeping him dead

plush mason
astral whale
plush mason
#

a fucking warrior killed him and he torn his way out of it

plush mason
crisp heath
#

which im 90% sure was chaos related

plush mason
#

so only those that have 0 reason to care that they just killed the greatest duelist of mankind can break Lucius' curse

crisp heath
plush mason
#

which in 40k is a surprisingly long list of people lol

crisp heath
#

Man Abaddon sliced up the founder of the black templars ol siggy like swatting a fly I doubt Lucius would be a challenge at all imo

plush mason
#

i know but Lucius is literally the best duelist in the galaxy. that is his whole shtick

#

he only loses when he wants to

crisp heath
#

counterpoint: Abaddon killed the only guy who ever beat Lucius

#

that being siggy i'm pretty sure

#

at least one of the three maybe

plush mason
#

no

#

also sig was old as hell when Abaddon killed him and had slowed a lot

astral whale
#

Okay here are a number of things that by all means could and should kill permakill Lucius.

Tau AI.
An unknowing suicide bomber.
Artillery (if they don’t know they hit him how can they feel joy about killing him)
Driving a ship he is on into the sun.
Any number of carnivorous plants in the imperium.
Nuclear weapon suicide.
Backing over him in a tank.

crisp heath
#

his soul would still live on in the warp

#

also he's probably gonna achive daemonhood if he hasnt already

#

just keep coming back

plush mason
#

ye

astral whale
crisp heath
#

only way to be sure is giving him the horus treatment and control alt deleting him from reality

astral whale
crisp heath
#

its been a minute since I read a necron book tho

arctic talon
#

The c’tan did create it

astral whale
arctic talon
#

Or rather a c’tan crated it when the Necrons killed one

#

Yeah

plush mason
arctic talon
#

And then the Necrons stopped killing the C’tan lol

#

Because turns out killing c’tan damages reality itself

astral whale
plush mason
#

that could work yeah

crisp heath
astral whale
arctic talon
#

Also Lucius is gona come back regardless

#

Since

crisp heath
#

-Some necron lo rd probably

plush mason
#

like the list of people and ways that Lucius' curse can be broken is insanely long and its only thru pure plot armor that it hasnt been broken yet

arctic talon
#

They entertain slaanesh lol

astral whale
#

Are the C’tan the real space equivalent of the Chaos Gods?

arctic talon
#

Slaanesh doesn’t care about the “rules” of the curse

plush mason
#

ye

arctic talon
plush mason
#

didnt the necrotyr make them from living space clouds or has that been retconned?

arctic talon
#

Nah they did

astral whale
arctic talon
#

There’s not a ton of lore on the actual nature of the C’tan itself

#

It’s what can be assumed

#

Based on the lore we have

astral whale
vocal drum
#

o oops sorry

plush mason
astral whale

rich vale
#

Orks definitely can be dealt with. Guardsmen fight them all the time

crisp heath
#

If Chaos Guardsmen are actually OP in a game for once I cant imagine how terrifying nids would be, just millions of xenomorphs with psychic powers

astral whale
crisp heath
rich vale
#

Same reason they're battling the heretics

crisp heath
#

I do like the devs straying away from the whole space marines/tyranids and ork thing tho, nice to see the little guys (guardsmen and chaos cults) getting the spotlight

rich vale

Malleus pretends to be the others Nameless

#

They virtually never identify themselves as Ordo Malleus

astral whale
plush mason
#

thats the first i have heard of that

rich vale
#

Its super common for them to show up as other Inquisitors, or even as non Inquisition related individuals

#

I read up on some Ordo Malleus lore cause I was looking into refreshing my Inquisition info

And as I stated

Then again the only person who knows for sure

You guys need to learn to stop talking about things that do not exist.

maiden plover

"All sisters of battle are exactly 5 feet and 11 and 3/8th of an inch tall. Those who are naturally shorter get heels/platform shoes that will elevate their height to the Emperor's holy number, and those who are taller than that get their legs hacked off at the appropriate length."

Not all sisters are like

The same height even in art

maiden plover
crisp heath
#

it's imperial propaganda

plush mason

likely some 4chan post

maiden plover
#

Im not saying this is cannon just searched it up and saw this and went what in thee heck

arctic talon
#

This doesn’t sound canon

#

Not with modern depictions at least lol

plush mason

no way in hell it is

arctic talon

I’ve never heard or seen this mentioned

plush mason

like i said its likely from 4chan

arctic talon

So it’s prolly not true twide2

maiden plover

Whats dakka even mean

plush mason

Firepower

arctic talon

For warhammer stuff

maiden plover

I see lots of people say it but like I said dont know warhammer at all and just like the tide games

plush mason
arctic talon
#

Even tho it fits how

#

Batshit insane the imperium is

ruby sparrow
arctic talon
#

It feels a bit too random and far fetched

astral whale
#

Still lol. I’d like to see a short 5’3 woman in 8 inch heels in power armor.

arctic talon
#

God

#

That sounds

#

Painful

maiden plover
#

Any Idea how tall I should go for or just anything?

plush mason
#

just up to you

arctic talon
#

Yep

maiden plover
#

Now just to think of a name then

plush mason
#

but i swear my shorty vet moves way faster than my tall characters

maiden plover
#

Short vet gaming

#

makes it easier to crouch infront of other vets for tactical firing

astral whale
arctic talon
#

No because it sounds just as painful lol

astral whale
arctic talon
#

Good for her

ruby sparrow
astral whale
#

Idk. I’ll ask her about how high they go.

plush mason
#

no way in hell they are 8 inches

astral whale
plush mason
#

fair

astral whale
#

Like. Imagine a 4’10 sister trying to join. That’s 13 inches!!

crisp heath
#

which melta-gun is correct lore wise? the ones that shoot literal lasers that disintegrate enemies? or the space marine game one that fires blasting waves that do the same?

astral whale
#

That isn’t a heel. It’s a stilt!!

plush mason
#

the laser

crisp heath
#

thank you, I was hoping that was it

plush mason
#

the space marine game is non canon in a lot of ways

crisp heath
#

good to know

#

I hope the second one corrects that

plush mason
#

just like dawn of war

ruby sparrow
crisp heath
#

and makes the game very close to canonical weapons wise and lore wise

astral whale
ruby sparrow
#

sorry for runes

#

posting them

#

mid mission

plush mason
crisp heath
#

oof

#

nvm then

#

too late

astral whale

at least I can expect cool combat against nids

That was my main gripe with the Primaris. The utter lack of backwards and forwards compatibility.

maiden plover

reminds me of the genestealer cultists and their praising of the "star gods" sometimes murals would depict shooting stars OR tendrils

dusk patrol
#

I mean it was more a risk on the onset.

#

They figured out how to do it safely for the younger dudes.

plush mason
#

ye

dusk patrol
#

And not many properly old marines have crossed.

#

Danet still hasn't

#

Logan hasn't

crisp heath
#

I thought Kor'sarro Khan was old, and he crossed

dusk patrol
#

Ragnar only did it because he got injured and he's still pretty young.

ruby sparrow
#

missed one of them

worn pagoda
#

Heels and power armor would be cancer.

ruby sparrow
#

Just dropping this again for ease of access

plush mason
dusk patrol
#

Mephiston told him he would die if he did it

#

Which is why Mephiston did it instead.

#

Dante wanted to, but he got called off basically.

ruby sparrow
dusk patrol
#

So, sorta

plush mason
#

fucking hell, can they just let that man die already?

ruby sparrow
#

also missed my chance to get a sceenie but got one of these

astral whale
# dusk patrol I mean it was more a risk on the onset.

Idk. I feel like the Primaris should have been the new organ implants instead of inventing a new breed of astartes.

The whole idea of super-super soldiers is dumb because the Astartes and Custodes are already inconceivably resource intensive to maintain. Every single one of them (except scouts) wear power armor and wield weapons that are relics.

dusk patrol
#

That's mostly what they are.

#

Like its said a lot that primaris are often shittier versions of Firstborn

#

They learn but its not a huge gamer changer.

#

They have a couple slight edges but skill and experience still win out.

crisp heath
#

which means ogryns

astral whale
crisp heath
astral whale
#

They skipped it.

dusk patrol
#

Mark X can be integrated with their old armor.

#

You can see it in a ton of the new primaris models.

#

They just update their armor a bit.

astral whale
arctic talon
dusk patrol
#

It doesn't, its power armor.

arctic talon
#

And armor pads

astral whale
#

There’s the whole interlocking Ceramite rings things.

dusk patrol
#

Like look at Helbrecht's armor

#

His legs are still his older model

arctic talon
#

Right shoulder as well I think?

dusk patrol
#

I'm not sure but a lot of his armor is super similar, just updated.

#

We also see stuff like Firstborn using Mark X in books, and Primaris using older armor

#

Its just models don't always reflect this.

#

But in lore, it can be extremely variable.

arctic talon
#

Also primaris using bolters

#

And grav weapons

ruby sparrow
arctic talon
#

And drop pods and rhinos

dusk patrol
#

Yeah

#

The main thing they haven't addressed is terminator armor.

#

Which I suspect in lore could easily just be updated for size.

crisp heath
plush mason
dusk patrol
#

considering how variable marines already were

crisp heath
#

I was looking for that one

#

it looks more like monolith

astral whale
#

Still. I really dislike the need for the writers to specify that Primaris are taller because that just makes things confusing. You’re telling me that they won’t need to rework entire fortifications to compensate for additional height?

crisp heath
#

and monolith would make since for nurgle daemons

#

and I thought it was enormously fat too

plush mason
dusk patrol
#

Gravis kinda does

crisp heath
#

wait a minute, what nurgle daemon is a monolith, has multiple arms, and is enormously fat? there isnt one that has multiple arms

dusk patrol
#

But its not quite the same

#

And tbh I suspect they're gonna make a primaris terminator armor eventually.

worn pagoda
#

Gross

#

Primaris marines

astral whale
dusk patrol
#

Did you read what I said?

worn pagoda
#

I would've been alright with it if GW hadn't flipflopped between it being a super rare improvement with a high mortality rate and it being something every marine ever suddenly is.

crisp heath
#

primaris marines are stupid lore wise, but model wise I like the mark 4 design

dusk patrol
#

I didn't say "Terminator and Gravis armor are the same in every way"

#

I said "Gravis kinda takes its place, but they're not quite the same"

astral whale
crisp heath
#

iirc its only really cataphracti and above

worn pagoda
#

Or maybe if GW weren't lazy bastards and decided "Why write lore and explain which chapters do and don't use primaris, and in what quantities, and how they deploy them in mixed or pure squads, when we can just say ever marine ever is primaris now to sell more models"

crisp heath
#

tartaros armor the superior looking terminator armor

astral whale
arctic talon
#

Straight to heck

astral whale
#

They desperately need to give the lore lovers a bone or two.

crisp heath
#

cataphractii too clunky for my taste

arctic talon
#

Fair

#

I like the brick shithouse look

crisp heath
#

the resin imperial fists praetor actually has tartaros armor

worn pagoda
#

All those chapters that have a lot of traditions and specialized gear because of their unique battlefields? Like the Carcharodons and the Consecrators. Fuck scarcity, and screw their deep traditions. Suddenly primaris.

crisp heath
#

also the word bearers praetor in tart armor looks absolutely gorgeous

worn pagoda
#

The Carcharodons can't get new ships but GW will be damned if they aren't all suddenly Primaris.

astral whale
#

Like idk. It feels like the lack of lore makes the imperium seem stronger than ever. A primarch is back. The high lords are gone.

astral whale
#

The universe isn’t as dark anymore.

arctic talon
#

And are just as much of a shitstorm as they used to be

worn pagoda
#

crisp heath
#

I love mk4 armor, and I'm glad my 2 favorite legions from the horus heresy uses it

arctic talon

But the higlords of terra are still around and bickering

crisp heath
#

and that's Alpha Legion and Word Bearers

arctic talon
crisp heath

they mostly only use mk4

astral whale
plush mason

yeah i like roman look of the cata

ruby sparrow

The top one I couldnt make out, The stuff below the top line roughly translates to "Death to the false emperor"

arctic talon

They still serve their own political agendas

worn pagoda
#

As I remember, a flaw in the Mk II as specified in the Death Watch core rulebook is that the maglocked boots are always on.

crisp heath
crisp heath
arctic talon

Though that would explain why MK3 is so much more popular then 2

crisp heath
astral whale
crisp heath

arctic talon
#

The current high lord of the official assasinorum thinks guilliman is an idiot

#

Fun fact

crisp heath

crisp heath
worn pagoda
#

The armor rating from the front of a Mk III set is 9 all around except for the chest, which is a 10. But from behind the armor rating is all a 6.

This is the equivalent of some sets of basic guardsman grade Carapace Armor in Only War.

ruby sparrow
#

Not sure. The translation was rough phonetic

worn pagoda
#

Yeah

arctic talon
#

But MK3 is really durable

ruby sparrow
#

The thing is the chaos language phoneticly goes to english sometimes

worn pagoda
#

The Mk III was great for frontal assault.

astral whale
#

I feel like the Lion should wake up, see Gulliman solo running the Imperium and go to kill him for doing everything he meant the Codex Astartes to prevent.

worn pagoda
#

Not so strong from behind. But not slacking either.

crisp heath
#

alpha legion scheme be looking great though

ruby sparrow
#

such as the rough translation of "Death to the false emperor"

astral whale
crisp heath
#

I can see the O with the line through it line up with the H in death and the

crisp heath
#

only until Dorn "kills" Alpharius is it all Alpharius

astral whale
ruby sparrow
#

for refrence I use this for translation of the written text runes

worn pagoda
crisp heath
ruby sparrow
#

its phonetic

crisp heath
astral whale
ruby sparrow
#

The stuff below the top Line reads, more literally, D Ii AA tz H Tz O Tz H ii F Aa L S ii ii M Ph ii rh O rh

crisp heath
worn pagoda
#

He has an 8 for his head, a 7 for his right arm, a 6 for both legs, a 10 for his chest, and an 11 for his left arm. His chest and shield arm are modified by his Synford-Pattern Lockshield, and with this shield he can choose to modify his head for a 12 armor rating on his head, or his legs for a 10 on both legs.

The RPG is silly sometimes. Since you don't reach armor values like this even as Astartes, not until you're a terminator.

astral whale
crisp heath

crisp heath

Gangrene
The leader of the Ly-Kin thoroughly daemonically mutated were it not for his orkish way of speaking and garments, he could be confused for plaguebearer. While Ly’s Blood has suppressed much of his nature, Gangrene still falls into old habits such as getting the Ly-Kin to obsess over shiny bits and teef and he always refers to Sclerios as Warboss. Gangrene loves the Bloat Ticks (as do all the Ly-Kin) and keeps a large female known as Bitey as a pet and will constantly bring back corpses to feed her and small trinkets to “make ‘er purty”. Though under daemonic control, he still possess the raw orkish strength and ferocity he had before his corruption and revels in combat like any ork would.

he's a goddamn ork

ruby sparrow
#

Ok so. Uh

minor lance
#

Keep in mind it could also just be an FS OC. I don't wanna rain on your parade, and I'm not saying you're wrong. But Bramblegut Heliburp was a nurgle sorcerer and OC, and they even had an OC grey seer of all things.

Because the runes for "chaos lord," "chaos weapon" and "chaos warband" show up a lot

minor lance
#

Also, weren't chaos orks soft retconned?

crisp heath
#

I think so

#

but it's still funny

ruby sparrow
#

On that level

crimson dragon
#

then what about that ork that's in khorne's place

#

which is ork heaven

minor lance
#

He's not chaos corrupted at all, actually

#

Khorne just likes him.

crisp heath
#

lol

ruby sparrow
#

@cold mango youre with fatshark right. What does this meeean

crisp heath
#

"I just think he's neat"

minor lance
#

Pretty much, yeah.

ruby sparrow
#

Wait. Did you say he also does chaos cults below hive cities

minor lance
#

Tuska Daemonkilla, I think it was?

crisp heath
#

if it a plague marine though, with a different name we never heard of, I'd be genuinely surprised

ruby sparrow
#

....

#

Theres runes of the great horned rat on that level too

#

The space skaven are reeeeealllllll!!!!

crisp heath
#

it's just Gnaggyran doesnt sound like a plague marine name

#

things like Globbulous

#

or Pustus the Vile

ruby sparrow
#

Space skaven

crisp heath
#

are more plague marine names

ruby sparrow
#

Its a space skaven

crisp heath
#

what's the final bosses name in vermintide?

minor lance
#

Man went on a warpath through the warp eventually hit a core world of Khorne. Proceeded to fucking butcher the daemons there, including a daemon prince. Khorne found this fucking hilarious and, as a mixture of entertainment and punishment for the prince, resurrects all the orks every day to keep fighting.

The orks absolutely love it.

Fun fact, orks actually get stronger the more they fight (Buildz up they's WAAAAAAGH enagee, yeh?). Tuska's WAAAGH!! is still there on that planet. Growing bigger and stronger every day. So that's fun.

crisp heath
#

god, it reminds me of the War of the Beast

#

to think it took a singular Krork 2 years to almost destroy the entire galaxy is insane

minor lance
#

Was The Beast a Krork? I thought he was very close but just about stopped, no?

#

Which frankly is even more terrifying

crisp heath
#

he was near the levels of being a Krork, basically there

toxic hedge
#

now imagine billions of krork and prime eldar duking it out with necrons

crisp heath
#

if it wasnt for his intelligence, and knowing of his psychic powers

toxic hedge
#

man human is small fry

crisp heath
#

the Beast was gonna turn into a full on Krork using pure waaaaagh energy

#

and was gonna make more

#

but if it wasnt for Vulkan, he would've succeeded too

ruby sparrow
crisp heath
#

but I suppose not

rose thorn
#

whats the most silly at first but super grim and horrible at second glance thing in 40k in your opinion?

#

aos is full of stuff liek taht and its great

crisp heath
#

I would say it

#

but you'd be angry

#

everyone would hate me for it

ruby sparrow
#

Servo skull typewriters

#

/printers

crisp heath
#

I thought "this couldnt possibly exist, this is dumb" and realized "oh... oh my god"

#

and it's the daemonculabra

#

made by the Iron Warriors

ruby sparrow
#

Fucks the dasmonculabra

crisp heath
#

oh, oh god

#

oh fucking god you dont know

#

I uhm.. dont recommend looking it up

#

it's messed up for 40k standards

#

and I think it would count as NSFW here

#

if I went more in depth

ruby sparrow
#

Ill take your word for it

#

But yeah death to the false emperor is showing up a lot. Saw it tattood onto an enemy in the meatgrinder

crisp heath
#

it pops up a lot

#

but the issue is, usually only chaos space marines would scream something like that, I suppose cultists too?

crisp heath
#

I guess Trazyn could fit in that category too, but he's more just funny anyway

#

for funny but grim

minor lance
ruby sparrow
#

Honestly 40k has situations which are grim but to such an extent they can seem morbidly comedic

#

Like rats being considered fine cuisine in the hive cities is a common joke

minor lance
ruby sparrow
#

Yeh

#

I mean it takes itself somewhat seriously but in places its so over the top its...

minor lance
ruby sparrow
#

Its grimdark comedy

minor lance
#

Like there is good, serious writing in 40k. But the universe itself is extremely dumb the moment you take a step back and actually look at it.

ruby sparrow
#

The satire roots are there

#

It is "a shitpost with a degree in philosophy"

minor lance
#

pfffff. That's a great explanation

ruby sparrow
#

I also apply that to chainsaw man

#

Its dark and goes into serious things and is horrid. But is simultaneously extremely silly

#

But back on topic. Whomstve be the Kid named GuNAaGhGhYRhAaN

crisp heath
#

also keep in mind though

#

nurglings are heralds of nurgle

#

and worshipped by even plague marines

#

so it could actually be a nurgling

#

that's growing in power

crisp heath
ruby sparrow
#

Theres also been runes for plaguebearer scattered around

crisp heath
#

plaguebearers could come in

#

the final leader could be a great unclean one honestly

ruby sparrow
#

And chaos weapon runes

crisp heath
#

which is scarier than any plague marine

ruby sparrow
#

Also for a bit of a shitpost we had an unfortunate situation with a certain chaos rune similarity

crisp heath
ruby sparrow
#

Sorry sir. Basically one of the enemies has a paper on their gun and

crisp heath
#

that's weird

#

why is there a mark of slaanesh cultist, maybe chaos undivided at one point?

#

it looks faded

crisp heath
#

there's a normal chaos icon above it

#

"erm yes I was...trolling dear Orikan"

#

lmao, I love Necrons

ruby sparrow
#

Anyways it could be where the stamp of the purity seal was torn off

#

But them being a slaaneshi spy is much funnier

#

I'm glad this game taught me nightsiders exist.

vocal drum
#

today i learned this exists

#

More stories

crisp heath
#

mmm

#

short video man, I wish him no ill

ruby sparrow

Also uh

vocal drum
#

yeah idk who this is but he provides good lore im new to this universe

ruby sparrow

Ok so whats the controversy with archwarhammer and other lore channels

crisp heath
crisp heath
vocal drum
crisp heath
vocal drum
#

what is that exactly

crisp heath
#

there's a lot, many out of print sadly

ruby sparrow
#

I can tbelieve the scab gunners a slaaneshi spy

minor lance
crisp heath
#

@vocal drum

#

the lore...is very deep

#

I'd argue only star wars can match them in sheer output probably

#

so much stuff

vocal drum
#

what happened to that one overpowered tyranid that ate like a bunch of elder souls and killed a bunch of armies

#

did someone kil it or is it out there still?

#

@crisp heathfor sure i'll check it out

ruby sparrow
crisp heath
ruby sparrow
#

I know

#

I just find it funny

crisp heath
#

nurgle corruption def but I'd imagine all the boys are here

#

oh yeah lol

#

imposter

ruby sparrow
#

wait isnt six also slaanesh's number

crisp heath
#

yes

ruby sparrow
#

heheh

#

Their holy number is 6

#

bit better crop?

vocal drum
#

also are chaos gods from the warp? if so can they ever leave and join their followers and lead a war on a aglaxy?

#

also wow

normal stream
vocal drum
#

theres people that actually live in the warp?

normal stream
#

It's important to remember that the warp and realspace aren't exactly two distinctly different realms, they used to be one until the C'tan walled off the warp to fight against the Old Ones.

woeful bloom
#

if this is legit

normal stream
#

Not sure what the question is lol

#

AoC just worsens AP value

#

Mortal wounds ignore it

crisp heath
#

mortal wounds also ignore invulns

#

and also, yeah, tyranids have a shit ton of mortal wound spam

#

it's called neurothropes, zoanthropes, maleceptor, and last but not least

#

reaper of obliterax relic

#

on a flyrant

elder tide
normal stream
#

Hey, chaos marines are people too.

#

.. Mostly.

#

😂

elder tide
#

Yup. They’re there too

crisp heath
rustic spruce
#

one of my buddies has a adverse reaction to seeing a tyranid prime, since i've abused him with it in multiple 40k video games.

vocal drum
#

the warp sounds more intense than the force

normal stream
#

Yep.

vocal drum
#

its like every emotion in a vacuum

crisp heath
#

the force but for assholes

elder tide
#

If you were to visit the Immaterium/warp where chaos lives these are the plains you’d generally be wandering

normal stream
#

But let's not go into the 40k vs {other scifi universe} hole 😂

vocal drum
#

no wonder people go crazy using its power but whatever happened to that one OP tyranid pyker

#

that ate all those souls

arctic talon
#

Doom of Malantai?

#

We dunno

#

But the neurothropes are derived from it

rustic spruce
#

he ate an infinity circuit

vocal drum
#

wow imagine that returned it has powers of warp + all those souls

arctic talon
#

Thing is missing

#

We don’t know where it fucked off to

vocal drum
#

honestly the people who made 40k universe

#

they made tyranids too OP/annoying

normal stream
#

Probs taking a nap somewhere

arctic talon
#

The nids are supposed to be

#

Absurdly strong

#

They’re the potential doom of the galaxy

vocal drum
#

necrons can stop them tho easily i bet

arctic talon
#

I mean

#

Yeah if they stopped fighting each other

#

And backstabbing each other

#

For political reasons

dusk patrol
#

Basically everyone could “win” or do way better without faction infighting

vocal drum
#

do tyranids fight eachother too?

dusk patrol
#

Eldar could probably fix a lot of their shit if Vect wasn’t an asshole

dusk patrol
#

Hive fleets basically just decide whose better

vocal drum
#

i thought they dont speak english/words tho?

rustic spruce
#

necrons can barely deal with the screaming green retards

dusk patrol
#

They don’t really

vocal drum
#

how do they talk then?

arctic talon
#

They don’t

dusk patrol
#

They don’t

#

They fight

arctic talon
#

Nids don’t talk

ripe ravine
dusk patrol
#

And whoever survives was better

arctic talon
#

They do scream and roar

dusk patrol
#

But yeah it’s also the antithesis to their point

arctic talon
#

If the orks were ever all united

#

Odds are galaxy is fucked

normal stream
#

Nids go nom nom nom

dusk patrol
#

See: War of the Beast

arctic talon
#

Good thing is that will never happen

dusk patrol
#

It not only wrecks everyone

ripe ravine
#

we are veering dangerously close to bringing up the War of the Be-shit

dusk patrol
#

But it also ruins the writing

normal stream
dusk patrol
#

Destroys the narrative

normal stream
#

So I'm very curious to see orks vs nids

dusk patrol
ripe ravine
#

bringing up war of the beast is illegal

arctic talon
rustic spruce
#

we had the orks vs the nids

arctic talon
#

But the nids won

#

It was deadlocked for a bit

vocal drum
#

so who would really be the stronges if they worked together and had all their armies at max power

arctic talon
#

But the nids killed the war boss

rustic spruce
#

was swarmlord sent into the octarius war

arctic talon
#

Yeah

toxic hedge
#

necrons took on prime eldar and krork in their heyday

#

so necron fo sure

arctic talon
#

And it decapitated the overfiend of octarius

vocal drum
#

how do they kil gods tho

toxic hedge
#

and prime eldar and krork was insanely OP

arctic talon
rustic spruce
#

didn't necrons almost die to the krork

arctic talon
#

They’ve killed gods before lol

vocal drum
#

how can technology kil gods , yes

arctic talon
#

They were severely weakened

#

So they just went to sleep

arctic talon
#

They killed a C’tan

#

They killed the old ones

#

And they managed to fight the eldar gods

rustic spruce
#

they made the c'tan and then unmade the c'tan

arctic talon
#

They shattered the rest of the C’tan

#

Because killing that one guy

#

Damaged reality irreparably

#

So they stopped

ripe ravine
#

magic is just science we don't understand and necrons know all the science

arctic talon
#

^lol pretty much

#

The Necrons tech is so advanced

fading bridge
#

What spawns first from Ork spores, Orks or Gretchin?

arctic talon
#

It might as well be magic

minor lance
arctic talon
#

Necrons were by far the strongest race at their peak

#

Second strongest would be a contest between eldar and orks

#

Then humanity in 4th

ripe ravine
#

that's a part of their shtick though. necrons are crazy powerful but insane and mostly very sleepy

arctic talon
#

Yeah

minor lance
#

Reminder the Necrons are like... Barely awake right now.

arctic talon
#

Weakest race at their peak would be tau just by virtue of how young they are

fading bridge
#

The Tau do have the power to make combat so boring the Orks don't want to do it anymore

minor lance
normal stream
crisp heath
#

eh

#

perpetuals are

normal stream
#

We've sorta discussed this here before but it seems that even the nature of a god in 40k is really jsut an exceedingly powerful being.

crisp heath
#

but that's because perpetuals are weird

#

the chaos gods arent immortal

normal stream
#

You could kill Perpetuals still

arctic talon
#

Perpetuals can have their souls erased

crisp heath
#

that takes a whole lot though

normal stream
#

Fulgurite

arctic talon
#

Or be given a final death via other means

crisp heath
#

Vulkan is a weird one

normal stream
#

Yeah, sure, but still not 100% immortal or invulnerable

crisp heath
#

is Vulkan alive? it depends on how GW feels

normal stream
#

I'm sure it took a whole lot to kill C'tan and Old Ones too

crisp heath
#

if he's relevant to the plot

normal stream
#

And it's sure taking a whole lot to kill slaanesh

ripe ravine
#

there isn't much distinction though between god and super powerful warp entity

normal stream
crisp heath
normal stream
#

C'tan were gods but weren't in the warp.

ripe ravine
#

yeah that's true

crisp heath
#

and C'tan shards cant die

#

we dont know what happens to them when they're defeated though

normal stream
#

Who cursed them with the flayer virus

crisp heath
#

because C'tan shards can be defeated, but they arent necessarily dead

#

oh, that's terribly inconsistent

#

but that's GW lore for ya

normal stream
crisp heath
#

yeah

#

just looked it up

#

he was "utterly obliterated"

#

gotta love inconsistent lore

fading bridge
#

just ask 20 authors if a lasgun has recoil

crisp heath
#

cough cough alpha legion

normal stream
#

All that indicates is that it takes a lot to kill a C'tan, and the necrontyr only succeeded once.

crisp heath
#

and I love GW's excuse is though

normal stream
#

Don't think the lore ever stated that they can't be completely wiped out

crisp heath
#

"all the stories are canon, it's just if they're true or not"

#

and proceeds to retcon a shit ton of stuff

crisp heath
#

must be old lore

#

like usual

normal stream
#

IIRC the Blackstone Fortresses were built by Vaul to destroy the C'tan

#

By targeting the stars they inhabited

crisp heath
#

the c'tan dont inhabit stars anymore

#

they are slaves to the necrontyr

#

or well, the necrons

normal stream
#

Yeah, but before that

crisp heath
#

blackstone fortresses never exist in the war in heaven

#

or not that I know of

#

I thought blackstone fortresses were created by chaos

#

after the whole horus heresy

#

abaddon built them to enhance psychic powers

#

as blackstone can both diminish and enhance psychic powers

normal stream
#

Nope

crisp heath
#

it's why he went out searching for blackstone, and wanted Cadia, to take the pylons for himself

normal stream
#

Abaddon captured 3 in the Gothic War

crisp heath
#

who the hell made blackstone fortresses then?

normal stream
#

After the Crone gave him a vision to capture the Hand of Darkness and one other artifact

#

To control them

arctic talon
#

The blackstone fortresses aren’t chaos creations

vocal drum
#

also is it possible to conquer the warp? could tyranids conquer it and like eat the biomass there?

arctic talon
#

As far as we know

normal stream
crisp heath
#

it's why hive fleet kronos exists

normal stream
#

Yeah, suspicion is Old Ones built it, too little too late.

crisp heath
#

daemons arent made of biomass

#

it's just a c'tan doesnt use psychic powers

#

or anything that blackstone would otherwise effect it

#

and necrons are just made of blackstone

normal stream
#

Uhhhh

crisp heath
#

so why make the fortresses to begin with

normal stream
#

No, necrons aren't made of the same Blackstone stuff

vocal drum
crisp heath
normal stream
#

Necrons were with the C'tan against the Old Ones and the Younger Races

crisp heath
#

noctilith

#

and even their tomb worlds

#

are made of this stuff

#

pylons are made of it

#

it's literally what the whole setting of the indomitus box set of 9th edition was about, the admech getting blackstone from necrons to study it

#

and the space marines were sent out

normal stream
#

I think they used the same term but weren't the same materials

crisp heath
#

that's dumb, so there's 2 different types of blackstone

#

because necron blackstone limits warp powers

arctic talon
#

It might be the same material

crisp heath
#

as known by the pylons

normal stream
#

It makes no sense that the Old Ones would use a material thats anathema to them.. In a warp-based weapon.

arctic talon
crisp heath
#

but it can also enhance warp powers

arctic talon
#

Blackstone is dual purposed

#

It can either be used to strengthen the warp

#

Or nullify it

crisp heath
normal stream
#

Ah

normal stream
arctic talon
#

Unless they have a source

crisp heath
#

C'tan dont like the suns anymore though

#

it's why they ate the old ones souls and the necrontyr souls

#

I guess before then

normal stream
crisp heath
#

if they were blowing up suns that makes sense

vocal drum
#

were necrons like humanoids before their metal form or something?

crisp heath
#

but when they got the living metal bodies

normal stream
#

(I used to be a dakka dakka regular for many years, if dakka agreed on something it's probably right)

crisp heath
#

yeah they were

crisp heath
#

they were the necrontyr

normal stream
crisp heath
#

the lore of warhammer 40k is like I said, a convoluted nightmare

#

no one can agree with anything

#

even GW cant agree with their own lore

normal stream
#

There was a joke in the early 2010s that if you wanted the source material quoted and thrown in your face, you intentionally made a post that was very wrong. And someone would correct you.

crisp heath
#

welcome to the 40k rabbit hole

minor lance
crisp heath
#

lmao

#

yeah, C'tan ate off sun energy, they dont like big frog people, I'm assuming big frog people didnt like them either and blew up suns? before the necrontyr got all hissy when frog people didnt grant them immortality

normal stream
#

Ahahah when did old ones become frog people

crisp heath
#

and the necrontyr made living metal bodies after discovering the c'tan, c'tan got addicted to souls after a necrontyr died because haha cancer planet

#

idk, memes

#

I call them frog people for the memes

#

because so many people call them that

#

they be frogges now

normal stream
#

Lololol

crisp heath
#

but yeah, c'tan likes souls, the deceiver made a deal with the silent king szarekh to make them immortal

#

blah blah, made them into war machines, blah blah, ate their souls

#

and whole war in heaven happened, frog people made eldar and krorks to fight them, still lost, c'tan ate almost all the old ones souls, the rest most likely fled to the immaterium or something we dont know

normal stream
#

It's like the thousand sons didn't learn from their mistake centuries later :p

crisp heath
#

Szarekh then fought the C'tan cause they were full of souls and didnt expect it

#

Necrons broke the C'tan into shards, enslaved them, then went nappy time until now in the 42nd millennium

#

silent king sent them to sleep and banished himself into deep space far outside the galaxy for his mistake

#

came back because of the Tyranid threat

#

done, end of story
