ye
They fight the bugs
Just briefly skimmed on their lore. It seems like they're good hunters
Can probably live in catachan

I like these guys Netflix witcher armor
They apparently specialize in killing tyranids
Wtf
No pink or purple in it it can't be Netflix then 😄
They look like french knights in the 15th century
Except the scales
Of their armor
They’re from a desert world
Lemme guess
Why they dressed like it’s cold
Byzantium?
because they aint' got time to sweat
it gets cold as hell in the desert at night
like, freeze to death kind of cold
Im gonna guess they also specialize in killing tyranids
It’s cold af in most places at night
what is this regiment??
Valhallan Ice Warriors could be nice looking if we got cloth physics on that big coat they all wear
This one
Vitrian dragoons
thanks
that is relative to this Fenris
Well byhata might be a desert planet, but apparently they originally came from vitria
It got destroyed by genestealers from what im reading rn
Oh wait nvm
Its also a desert planet

More like space finnish
Space russians are the vostroyan first born
Right cuz they actually win

We got one of their sabers
Id say more on that subject but i avoid político
ye
more Cossack than russian tho
This is what I would think a guardsman from Barbarus would look like if Mortarion remained loyal
Maccabian Duel Sword Mk2 and Mk5
Miasman Red Cowl
Heavy Promethium Regiment
i love that when you use that your character enters an actual dueling stance
what would a female space marine look like
Space italians
Same as a male SM
Something Arditi
would their proportions increase in the same way that space marines do?
like would they have giant heads
Supposedly
most likely yes
No clear information since we never had the case
ye
(So only conjectures are possible)
we used to have eldar space marines lol
I'm hoping to find the Mk5 soon for my Psyker
Its Dieprian Mountain men
Half Eldar
Are the Arditi the real name or something ? RL counterpart?
Idk italian
The less that is said about early 40k lore, the better lol
understanding early 40k lore is easy, just do a shit ton of acid
The chapter master of the ultramarines used to be half eldar
Tf
and there was also Obi-Wan Sherlock Clouuseau the inquisitor
there was also female space marines
and he had a yin yang symbol on his chest
Which is still cannon
This is why i think theyre space italians
yes but the models didnt sell well so they got removed
wew lad
Most of the other regiments look similar to cadians now which i dont like
warhammer is kinda weird, you guys ever think about the name "space marines"
marines...in space
Not true they just don’t have minis
Unless we’re talking about the cadian standard which has been a thing since like 4th
Space Marine is used by plenty of sci fi setting
I mean they're hardly the first setting to have marines in space, Aliens has it too
I dont like cadian standard uniforms or armor
I thought those were colonial marines
I like their lore just that their uniforms look bad
ye and historically marines are some of the most elite and often the only permanent standing armed force many nations have
oh yeah the starcraft space marines too
SM armor colors match their favorite crayon flavor
Yeah like the imperial navy is called the navy, it's not called the space force or smth, and if you translate over all of that, the elite force of any space fighting force would have to be marines
unless you want to call them navy armsmen or smth
Do you guys think a halo spartan could beat a space marine
Can’t think of any
Well they call it navy cause they call their space faring vessels after ships
Depends on what the spartan and marine are armed with
Make sense no?
Which one
John 'Halo' Master chef
It would have to be something that there's parity with to make it fair, like no normal assault rifle vs bolter lol
Then probably
spartan 4 with gen 3 mjolnir vs modern tactical marine
Can his armor even handle bolter rounds?
I mean master chief could probably beat rank and file space marine sure, I don't think he can beat a chapter master or even a company captain
Considering it survived orbital re entry yes
Ok
Easily, it handles things like hunter assault cannon explosives
It can prolly eat a few big hits before breaking apart
Also Spartans have the upside of shields that regenerate
I'd agree with that, the shields that the company captain has would be crazy
He'd also just die instantly to a librarian
The sticky grenade launcher from reach would make it a lot more clear
Lol
What about the stanchion
Honestly who ever lands the first hit with a powerful weapon would win
Between a marine and spartan
He’s definitely fast enough to keep up
^
The stanchion's the halo book railgun
Spartans go really fuckin fast
The main issue is the Astartes durability and their weapons being so strong
I dont think a tactical marine is going to survive a stanchion shot
Since six was trained in stealth warfare id say they’d win against any marine if they’re allowed the first hit
What if it was Raven Guard tho
issue with the spartan laser is that it has a charge up time like the lascannon
Marines are also in that so I mean
Anyone who gets a free first hit wins lol
They can both one shot eachother with the right guns
^
Hence allowed
Marine senses and armor sensors would make that pretty difficult I imagine
Especially because things like active camouflage in halo, give off massive heat signatures
realistically what weapons does the tactical marine have access too that can one shot a spartan?
They dealt with that using cooling tech
Melta gun, plasma gun
Both fall into the anti tank catagory of weapons imo
Realistically, a Bolter probably could
melta gun yea, plasma gun maybe if it overcharges
I'm highly doubtful of this
Spartan shields don’t block that much in the actual books and lore
yes they do
And they get absolutely fucked by plasma weapons
They've blocked shots from hunter assault cannons, which do far more damage than bolters
They have never blocked a direct hit. They take glancing blows from them, but they definitely wouldn’t survive a direct hit.
In game? or in books?
Error 2007 fix?
They blocked them in ghosts of onyx, and again in the flood iirc
In the books, a few blast from a plasma weapon destroys the shields
If it’s master cheeks he’ll woo the sm
I know the shot in ghosts of onyx was a direct hit and fred survived it
Do not mention the tv show
I know what you’re talking about and I’m almost positive. It wasn’t a direct hit and on top of that I’m pretty sure the case you’re thinking of Cortana was involved and directed the shielding to better defend against the hit
Can anyone help with the error code:2007
If it’s a destiny guardian its over
It was frederick, not john spartan, it was a direct hit and we know it was because he intercepted the shot from hitting their dropship
It depends on the guardian honestly
cortana was not involved
💀
A single gjallerhorn boi
Cortana helped chiefs shields stop 50mm shells from a gunship tho that was weird
She also had helped him block a missile
I wonder if daot humans had something equal to space marines
Better yet
he got hit by a few shots and his shield didn't drop during fall of reach
One with divinity
but the book im referencing was ghosts of onyx, and cortana was not involved and it wasnt even chief who got hit
it was fred
Fred op tho
I know what seen referring to, and I’m almost positive he didn’t take an actual direct hut
Blue team in general are pretty op
it was going to blow up his dropship, he jumped in front of it and intercepted it
Fred is cracked outta his mind
this was also in gen 1 btw, with the weakest shielding systems of all the gens
IIRC he was testing the gen 2 shields tho
Especially linda since she’d be hyper lethal if the unsc still gave those out
which is why he survived
A different spartan still using gen 1 shields was actually killed by that same shot
in the same book
Maybe then, idk. There’s definitely inconsistencies in the books for what the shields can tank.
Doubt it, chief also survived a shot from a hunter assault cannon in the flood
2/3 times spartans have survived it with the weakest shields possible, gen 3 is easily going to tank that
william was the one-off who was killed
Idk why in these fights people always give the Spartan all the weird hyper specialized gear that they would realistically never carry around on a day to day basis, but the Space marine has to make do with a chain sword and the bolter. Give them both their best gear, space marine should be getting iron halos, graviton weapons, power swords
I don't believe he can
All modern spartans are equipped with gen 3, this isn't specialized gear, and I also said a modern space marine tactical marine, who doesnt have access to graviton weapons or iron halos
It’s also possible Hunter assault cannons aren’t that strong, but either way I don’t see it surviving much Bolter fire form what I recall from most depictions
Whale wiff enuff prep tim🤓
sure but their weapons. Your average spartan is walking around with a 5.56 calibre assault rifle and and M6D pistol
Well, it was going to shoot down a spirit dropship which are cannonically super tough
not a spartan laser and a stanchion
Nope
Spartans main issue is being able to have something to kill the marine
Not true, spartans actually don't have any sort of "typical" standardization, they can use literally any weapon in the UNSC arsenal and have in the past gone into missions where every spartan was armed with a stanchion
spartan laser is shit, i dont consider them for this battle

because a space marine is easily going to be blowing a spartan away with a bolter before that splaser is done charging
Yes and marines can also request a ton of stuff so like
Let's make it fair only fists 🙂
They’re trained to pre fire it
Halo vs SM = Only Fists, where skill decides alone would be fair
depending on rank, yes, like a captain is going to have access to gear that would BTFO any spartan, graviton weapons, refractor fields, volkite guns
but a tactical marine aint
Tactical marines definitely could, you don’t need a Volkite gun or a graviton gun
Still, its a huge disadvantage to have to charge a weapon up before firing, stanchion is the better option since you dont need that
Just a plasma gun or stalker rifle
Which mission was this, and what's the purpose? I assume they were sniping? In that case sure it'd make sense. But come on, every common depiction of your spartan in their most general loadout is carrying a low calibre assault rifle and a m6d pistol
Too late i called in a drone strike
well yeah a tactical marine is going to have access to plasma, melta, lascannons, Im not sure a stalker rifle is doing it unless they're loaded with crazy munitions
Stalker rifles shoot down aircraft
The drone strike misses by a thread the space marines moves in for the kill 😄
It was in fall of reach during chiefs assault on the space station along with linda (might've been kelly) and isaac (who died)
There’s actually a case of one piercing a marine using a Tau shield funnily enough and doming him
Oh god, not another Spartan v Astartes head to head
I'm just saying, Reddit Threads like this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/HaloStory/comments/p1sl4s/what_gear_are_spartans_most_effective_with/
suggest that spartans generally don't carry that kind of munitions around
53 votes and 23 comments so far on Reddit
depending on the aircraft, you could probably down it with a literal thrown roock
Heretics i say, Purge the unclean i say.
I generally don't follow reddit threads, mostly because they're kinda weird and dont consider all the information
Titan go haha
a titan unironically solos earth lol
Most of the people on this server are even worse for lore background though
Anyways all that matters is if the Spartan has a good enough gun, and who gets the drop
Thats unfortunate
r/40kLore is pretty darn solid.
sounds about right
So it’s kinda a boring conversation tbh
give the SM a plasma gun or stalker rifle with good ammo, and its a 50%
Spartans would be like, super advanced world class Guardsmen
There's a lot of people on this server who can only see the perspective of their own favorite faction and therefore it's the best faction.
Maybe Skitarii
The real answer between the Spartan v Astartes is as always…..it depends on the circumstances
Basically
isnt that the same as reddit
If it was just the two of them fistfighting with no armor, Marine wins 10/10
It’s just kinda dead horse discussion
yeah that sounds about right
Been done to death
The real answer is "it's two different universes wtf are we doing comparing them"
No, r/40kLore is pretty solid.
Idk mate, it’s just two super soldiers the comparisons will always be drawn
IDK I know a guy who's a loremaster and he tells me to stay tf away from reddit regarding 40k
40k Space Marine beat Starcraft Space Marine
But Starcraft SM are supposed to be the Guardsmen
40klore is good because everyone has properly sourced shit to bring up, other subreddits, much less so
^
The problem is you can't down vote into oblivion the really dumb comments here, you can on reddit.
StarCraft SM have some pretty nuts guns tbh
40klore subreddit has good sourcing
sometimes
Yeah this also lol those guns are horrifying
Yep. People actually cite sources there.
Like if you bring up something on 40klore, someone will have the page number of the book or codex ready for you, with an exact quote
meanwhile other subreddits are just regurgitating half remembered shit they saw once in an episode of TTS
Starcraftmarines might suck from an armor perspective but those guns can damage tanks
People here are like "but muh marines" or "but muh special kriegers"
I wouldn't consider that a good thing for these kinds of discussions, if everyone is wrong and doesnt have a source for the information they post, they'd just be downvoting legitimate information while upvoting misinformation
Yeah, they’re probably fucked because of reaction speeds and armor being pretty shit
Well, it works there. Here it's just a competition of who yells louder.
But they can do damage
Especially considering 40k is so old that you have to establish trends and not just go off outliers
Like, for example, no one considers that one world eater getting killed by a spear to be an actual representation of space marine durability
Not even just trends, you'd have to consider the author too. Some books have humans getting their asses absolutely beat by marines, other novels you have Ciaphas Cain somehow dueling a marine evenly in hand to hand
And no one takes into account that one time a naked chaos marine 1v1'd an armored custodes and won
I mean it is a representation of marine overconfidence
I still hate that one lmao, literally punched through auramite
That was retconned
CS goto is generally that one author you dont consider
it pierced his neck armor
Wave serpent vs child throwing rock death battle
a wooden spear
He wasn’t wearing a helmet
I was talking about sandy Mitchell lol
he wasn't? cringe
Yeah
And he had a chance to kill the guy
But laughed like an idiot instead so he got skewered by a wooden spear
Why did he die from the spear, space marines can rappidly regenerate
artery apparently
unless their regeneration isnt that strong
They routinely survive get entire limbs ripped off, why would a plugged neck artery kill him
Idk
thats the probllem
who knows, the author had a point to make and damn it if logic is going to stop him
trends need to be established, cant just go off one time things
because 40k is what, 40 years old at this point?
I think a bit younger
old asf is the point lol
maybe but GW always looked at the books that they will not make profit so why bother censor them , since even once the CEO said that it's not canon what happens in the books it's just an view point how it went down
There's also all the memes about the Avatar of Khaine, and how despite being this insane supernatural superweapon, it just gets it's ass beat on the regular by everything
alot of different authors, when debating this kind of stuff just one time events shouldnt really be used
gotta use trends, like space marines routinely dodge bullets
yes you have around 10 25 writers some of them are fans and did not wrote maybe 1 or 2 books
Tbf it does get its ass beaten in a lot of codex entries
But it also beats a lot of ass but no one talks about it
If this is the case, then we truly cannot ever debate 40k
could you link me to that ?
They do this shit with the swarmlord too. Basically any enemy that can't actually die permanently, they hype them up to all hell, and then have the character they're actually promoting easily kill them
just lazy writing
I don't think thats ever been said
Unless it was by Tom kirby but the guy was inflamatroy on purpose
would be absolutely hilarious if that is the case
and he's sort of been thrown under the bus by GW lol
lol
Swarmlord gets hyped up as this insanely poweful monster that can destroy worlds, only so that he can get killed first by Calgar, then by some random ultramarine called Ortan Cassius, and then most recently again by Dante
Their "official" stance (as in, what black library writers agree on) is that their is no official canon (outside of the larger concepts eg the emperor is on the golden throne etc) and that individual stories are a writers interpretation of the setting.
I personally don't like this stance but that's the way it is

i mean. does GW even really care about the lore that much? they sure do seem to be very lose with it
They do to an extent
They definitely do, Fatshark talked about before how it was an uphill fight to try to get a flail onto warrior priest in VT2 because GW thinks they should only have hammers
they have big overarching things that the try to keep intact
they care about $$$$$
stuff like that is likely the same reason why we're never going to get the power sword onto the zealot, zealot can only have chain weapons
what do you how much is to licence the topic SM or Guard from them?
Also yeah money matters, if they need to break a few eggs to turn a huge profit they'll do it
I.E Gathering storm
why is it that you are only seeing nurgle factions in vermintide?
and they started to mention Khorn and the others 5 years latter
they made profit not with these games
Are we onto the next dead horse topic of "bash GW"?
Total War
Total war is explicitly non canon
what they did with the fan videos is abnormal
what led to the black templars becoming such angry lads
They represent Dorns rage
They hired the Astartes guy, have they done any first party animations since then?
Yeah they have, the Kill team animation
well that's something at least
and its also really good
also the 9th edition trailer if we really wana count that, but I'm pretty sure that one was contracted out
"Is Black Library fiction canon background material?
The BL editors work with the GW studios to keep the fiction the way that it should (very hard might I add! - RK), though due to the sheer volume of detail involved there can be the odd discrepancy here and there. If you want to consider anything "canonical" then both BL fiction - be it novel, graphic novel, art or background book - and GW fiction - be it White Dwarf, Codex, Army book or rulebook - are such.
Keep in mind Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 are worlds where half truths, lies, propaganda, politics, legends and myths exist. The absolute truth which is implied when you talk about "canonical background" will never be known because of this. Everything we know about these worlds is from the viewpoints of people in them which are as a result incomplete and even sometimes incorrect. The truth is mutable, debatable and lost as the victors write the history ..."

maybe not CEO but someone who was spokeman for them
becuase some people stop making them
sodaz literally got bullied by the 40k community
I don't see your point
Thats the reason why they stopped making 40k stuff
and if you bring up TTS, TTS was protected under parody law and would have been fine
well TTS stoped their videos
well actually who want's to go to curt and waste money 🙂
They stopped because they didn't want to do it anymore + as protest
not because of any legal trouble
Alfabusa literally explicitly says thats the reason
They also said in their recent video they would Continue TTS when they feel like doing it again
Also furthermore, some of the voice actors for TTS don't even want to do TTS anymore due to the fact that they're burnt out voicing their character I.E Russ, its clear the team was suffering from creative burnout
they did not want to risk legal battle
that can also be heard sure they maybe wanted to something else
but they took down the last church animation right?
Kill Team Hungary has a who is pirate on youtube who uploads it when it's pulled down
no they said they will restart it only if GW makes a real fan outreach/content creator program and only if that program does just stop randomly
and that rn is a hard as if
ah, I forgot lol
yeah they stopped TTS to avoid any possible legal trouble with GW
the sad part is that the Astartes what we have seen as the best animation in it's category becuase the animator is now working or worked for GW
but he cannot continue the story / stories without GW conset
did they mention that in the original video?
yes
k
if we're still discussing this
is the warhammer + animation worth it comparing to Astartes?
no lol bcs warhammer + sucks ass
the one good thing about warhammer + is the white dwarf archive
so, the point is that GW saw an popular market that can be monitored and regulated the shit out of it
hammer and bolter has an animation budget of like 5$
that is literally all anyone has ever said about the WH+ animations lol @atomic pelican
LMAO
There are some that are good. But I wouldn't pay to see them. If they were on Netflix or something maybe
Its because their quality ranges from good to absolute ass and theyre only like 15 mins long
It is not worth the sub
Warhammer + is the new netflix just we did not connect the dots yet
Warhammer+ is literally almost exactly the same price as netflix
Which is just insane
Warhammer + will be playing episodes of friends before we know it
LOL
Same price but for way less stuff
Yeah
Just like their books 😄 some is good some is bad
And Warhammer+ has another bad effect
Yeah but you get to pick and dont have to subscribe to Books Monthly and pay for all the garbage
yeah but the funny part about is that for extra dime you will get in in 8k 😄
It doesn't make new fans
If they made a Netflix animated like Castlevania or that Lol thing it would be great
I was also like wow they are going to spend some money and make some good content but ...
it's not the case they are just milking the franchise what they did 5 to 10 years ago
to me the mini prices are so damn high
Honestly the mini prices are so damn high but they're high for a reason unfortunately
They're prolly some of the easiest minis to put together and most detailed
IMO mini prices are high but fine for the time-entertainment value. The problem is everything around them
Codexs shouldnt be $55
Yeah
Or should have like $10 digital releases
Or keep the $55 tag but the digital codes that come with them update for the edition
So if I buy a 9e GSC book and have the code, I also get the 10e one when it releases
Codexs should just be free in digital format imo
Yeah
Age of sigmar does it ffs
Nah
Only about 130% true by my estimation
Its oki
you play GSC too? :O
AoS is full of "Oh yeah the rulws are free I promise!"
Then the 'free rules' are just the core and ur army stripped of all army abils
And yes
I got the codex and havent used the code yet
Keller morph is in my top 5 favorite models
I still need a kelermorph
Honestly ontop of this, the official 40k app is actual garbage
kelermoprh is auto include in 40k and Kill Team
Battlescribe is still more accurate somehow
BattleScribe #1
Battlescribe is dogshit for rules but somehow the offical 40k app is more dogshit
Good part abt GSC is that our codex has had literally 0 changes since release so the book itself is still valid(also a curse but)
I'm lucky I got my GSC codex for $40 because my store bought too many
the GSC expierence
I have the GSC half from the GSC vs Custodes box, so I plan on getting the combat patrol to expand
trying to make at least 500-1000 points
and make a kill team
Be lowtier army, win anyway because 0.01% playrate and no one knows what you do. That was my experience playing 8e GSC last year when I started
ngl GSC is like one of the most expensive armies to collect
They are
The GSC needs more technicals, i want 40k pick up trucks with AA guns mounted to them
Its because of Acolyte Hybrids and Metamorphs
They are $50 for 5 and you easily run 30 of them
I have some gsc
next to Horus Heresy White Scars, GSC is near the most expensive, Astra Militarum and Green Tide Orks beat they by a small margin
I remember back in 8E when they were super duper broken before they got decimated by the nerf hammer
Astra Militarum with spamming troops is insane, you have like 300+ models to paint
conscripts
it's kinda better
GSC basically have to run 60+ inf unless ur an insane sigma
Conscripts aren't a thing anymore thank fucking god for new players ol
wait. a fan app has better and more accurate info on the TT, than the app made by GW themselves? how
right now mass Constript lists have been taking tournaments
the GW app has a lot of errors when rules update firsts release
Gone are 30 conscript blobs instakilling GUOS(bullshit)
lmao
Mfw I have to roll dice just to see if they’ll follow an order
that's good they're gone now

I fucking hated conscripts as an army to play against
literally the most boring playstyle ever
I had my sanctus oneshot a guard hq with a conscript blob and the guy rq'd
I still think green tide orks are more expensive
and Guard players have the fucking gall to say Tau is sannoying
Yeah
While spamming 300 conscripts
and Horus Heresy White Scars are insanely expensive
with jetbikes being like $90 for 3 bikes
and needin 30
Guard players tend to play how they accuse tau of playing. But worse because their shooting phases take 3 hrs
tbf thats just forgeworld prices
Something something can’t kill us all/take any obj something something
yeah
forge world makes everything more expensive
but GSC is quite expensive, depending on your list
me, it's not expensive, because 25% of my list is brood brothers
and that 25% is a 470 point baneblade
because why the hell not
lmfao
it's a mutha fuqin baneblade, I'm running it in GSC
the genius GSC collector
god I cant wait for full guard codex release
just so I can steal their big tanks
and reduce the cost of my army
Brood Brothers are broken RAW on release but GW acknowledged us so should be fixed soon
Also I dont think anyone would care since Bb are mostly a meme
what's wrong with brood brothers?
tbf you can prolly just play them with existing rules and I don't think people would complain
Yeah exactly
regiment keyword is getting completely reworked lol
GSC codex calls for BB to have REGIMENT, which doesnt exist anymore.
So its fucky with brood brothers since it replaces the regiment keyword
Also the REGIMENTAL keyword is on alot more now
Yeah
So the question is can we bring Kaskrins and such
And rough riders
I hope so because guard players get assmad that I run their units but in a cooler army
M a y b e
alright, as long as it's fixed I'm still using my baneblade
Probably
I think the only concerns are around units that are 'special'
So Kaskrins
I also hoped we'd get Scions because thatd be funny
But unlikely
Also Valkyries because my crusade cult abducted a scion team
I wanna get the "cadia stands" box just to make brood brothers
having a small regiment of brood brothers, then my baneblade because gotta support that amazing scout vehicle
The funniest outcome would be them giving BB a regimental trait that lets them Crossfire
remember, baneblades are scout vehicles
lol
that would be amazing but too much to wish for sadly
if they do give a BB crossfire
I would immediately slap that in every list
auto include
Guard units would be stronger in BB than in guard LMAO
BB?
Brood Brothers
GSC have a army rule that lets them take 25% of their army as Guard
BB can be both baneblade or brood brothers
Oh yeah tru
lol
the new cadia stands guard models will make some good brood brothers, even though they'll be a little taller than neophytes
I can make some without helmets too to show they are brood brothers
and give the helmeted ones the upgrade sprue pieces with the GSC icons
what happened to constantin valdor
So…was there a story where the Admech had an encounter with an STC that was so powerful that it froze/armor locked the Astartes that escort them? And that it somehow possessed the servitors to speak through their mouths?
No, that was the AI of the ship Death of Integrity
Yeah it shortly left afterwards
basically going "Fuck you all and your galaxy" before leaving the milky way
He just disappeared.
found the 73 on the prison ship
@quaint sparrow i believe this is what you’re looking for
ye but the SS is a lot darker than it was on my screen for some reason
Heresy is in the season
What are the iron collars that Psykers start out with, and seem to continue incorporating throughout all of their other outfits? Their prison fatigues are the only ones to have this.
will an ork ever achieve enough dakka
Word is, Warlord Ghazghull Thraka is looking to strap a 5th Shoota to his Mega Armour suit, so no.
Preachers are members of the Echlisarchy right?
Screenshot was poorly timed, but this security camera showed multiple areas like Hab blocks
And, a place called the "hourglass district"
maybe the final zone they havent revealed yet? idk
it said
"Hourglass district"
"Under attack"
Looked like the upper spire too
(top right one)
anyone get a voice line other than me between sgt morrow and the veteran talking about how they heard rumors of a "second hive city" out in the wastes and morrow quickly shuts the question down and says "you shouldn't be asking those questions."
Not heard that yet
as if morrow knows something
But it could be a failed hive city theyd rather forget about/hide
marrows over 170 years old thanks to warp shenanigans, so
hmmm i wonder if it'll be a playable location
"Hourglass district" in the upper spire definitely seems possible
Fancy hallways etc
Maybe a noble called upon a daemon of Nurgle
its not uncommon
kool, i hope we get some development regarding this "second hive"
I dont think we will
feels/seems like they've been sprinkling in tidbits of lore which either go nowhere, or arent important
just to flesh out the worldbuilding
itll drive me mad too when i hear it, dw
lol
Am I right in thinking that the idea of 40k is somewhat that it's so ridiculously big that you can have these huge wars spanning planets, but that ultimately have no significant impact on the 'universe'?
yes and no
Some do
some dont
its a mixed bag, so mostly 50/50
There were actual IRL events held with tabletop battles to decide fates of planets and narrative in 40k
like Armagheddon and Cadia exploding
The original 13th black crusade on Cadia in the mid 2000s, was a Chaos win, cadia didnt explode and people thought it was rigged because of some people breaking rules, bad overseers etc
iirc
Then they overhauled it all around 2017 and had cadia explode
among other things
40k was frozen in 41.999M for YEARS irl
It only recently in the last 5 went past that and its 42.111M currently in-lore
Because there's so many years, sometimes stories and battles get slotted into convenient empty gaps or these years which are like " 41.865.56 " and i have no idea what the last 2 digits mean
It really depends what battle it is, for it to have an impact
but some do have actual impacts
Why did they make lohner a medicae wrong answers only
who
I was mad for years
The official results unambiguously had chaos win
I think GW just had no idea what to do with a chaos win
But lots of the games felt/looked rigged and quite a few of them were messes
Which is exemplified by how they did nothing with that narrative for years until they shat Primaris out their arses
and they had no idea what to do with that other than phase out regular firstborn marines because "hey look, buy the shiny new models haha"
And are now trying to say "oh dw guys haha, firstborn arent going away, look, we're making HH models!!!"
People were saying Firstborn wouldnt get phased out, in 2017
now look at them

fools
blind fools
It used to be power armor was the most powerful, common armor you could get. Now you've other duders running around with 3+ saves. So then marines needed 2w, and then a -1 to AP via armor of contempt
They should've made primaris marines an armor varient, not their convoluted BS lore and explanation
Just make the armor tougher and Mk X
done
Crisis suit spam with AP3 weapons essentially became a more elite common army than marines
Ya agreed
i will be angry at GW until the day i die
Also because Primaris are incredibly boring and firstborn marines are barely advertised to such a degree anymore, ive met new 40k players who thought a 2015/16 firstborn marine as a roguetrader marine
Or ones who didnt know what a firstborn was
Didnt know that certain models were firstborn etc etc

The argument of primaris being taller isnt even accurate anymore
New firstborn models are like, 2mm shorter
maybe even 1
I'm waiting till there isn't a distinction anymore and they're all just marines like that BT Castellan model or whatever he's called
And i will also die on the hill that Primaris are incredibly boring, inlore and in model form, at least the Black templar ones had something going on
i may quit playing marines permanently if that happens
As long as I have my Proteus KTs I'm happy
If GW wants to throw away their legacy of space marines, they can go ahead
They also tried backpedalling by making primaris shit In-lore
They dont live as long and their Dreadnoughts use them like batteries, Redemptor dreadnoughts cannot become ancients unless theyre very very lucky
Sorry I'm just very passionate about 40k and the way GW handled marines in the last few years is really upsetting
Tbf I dont think marines really ARE that elite when other factions in the game are like, Custodes/Harlequins/knights
"20something yells about lore for little plastic soldiers"
Theyre a fairly middle army that can do a little of everything based on chapter
Which makes them a good noobie faction
My exact issue with Custodes, grey knights, deathwatch
+being ez to paint
Marines are like the mid tier somewhat elite but not that elite faction
Yee
Exactly. Power and special snowflake creep happened. So primaris happened in response.
Remember that some humans will literally never see a space marine in their entire life
Then we have these golden space marine marines in space
and some dont think theyre real
Unnecessary
Talking abt tabletop
Tbf 7th sucked ass lol
Grav spam out the ass
Custodes are the elite of the elites elite of the elite
For marine armies
hardly a fair comparison
Yes and it's stupid
We allready have the elite of the elite
Remember when Custodes never left Terra? Good times.
They are called space marines
I’m talking about 7th edition
As in gravity weapons
Aka what people spammed because they were ap3 do marine mirrors were based on who could spam more fucking grav weapons
So never?
I remember that
7th edition sucked ass due to poor balancing all around, weird LoS stuff, centurion spam, hotshot spam,
Ally matrix
Also the fact that they released a codex that literally didn’t function for a bit
Oh yeah, my Cadian box is apparently on its way now
Whenever they added new shit they had to mess with the lore tbf
And they most certainly did “break” lore at times
The primaris are just pretty blatant
I mean the black Templar primaris are the first faction exclusive primaris range and they look good imo
usually up till after 2015, it was just touchups to lore or compliments, not straight up retcons/ruininglore/adjustinglore
The plasma lemen Russ and centurion both broke existing lore
But it’s w/e
The 40k universe can get some new equipment, as a treat
just not when its shit like primaris
if its a pre-existing tank getting a new turret, thats easily explainable
Primaris at least are fine from a lore perspective now
barely
Their introduction is still horse shit
The lore surrounding said introduction is at least good now
Considering the fact it used data from the raptor project, and the selenar gene cults
That’s fine
ill only be happy when they're removed permanently (which is never)
But imo the primaris as a model range are fine if it continues in the same direction
Ill have to slowly scream in agony as Firstborn are phased out and relegated to HH only
🙂
As the black Templar stuff
Tbh at this point they’re prolly gona drop the primaris keyword lol

You'll have to physically kill me with a blunt weapon, before im ok with Firstborn being phased out and completely replaced by primaris, so much, that their keyword is removed, aka becoming the default marine
Firstborn aren’t being phased out tho?
They are
Black Templar castellan isn’t a primaris unit
Loads of firstborn kits are no longer being made
he is
He's by rules a primaris
He’s a normal lieutenant
Not a primaris one rules wise
You can run him as a primaris one if you want but no where does it mention it’s a primaris
It still phased out firstborn by having a parimaris option, which GW made better by a few stats
all new models are primaris and phase out pre-existing firstborn
crusaders for example
Except firstborn sword bretheran are still better then primaris
Theyre going to be giving assault primaris jetpacks, which will phase out assault marines
And also vanguard veterans are still the premier melee unit in marines
Most good lists run a mix of firstborn and primaris
Assault marines will be phased out by primaris, they will make something to phase out vanguard vets
90% of lists i see is all primaris
Firstborn are no longer printed
they've been phased out
Doesnt matter if their rules are better, theyre no longer made
The sword breathern were made from the old black Templar upgrade sprue
They never had their own mini, you used a tactical squad + appropriate bits from the upgrade sprue
When the assault intercessors get jetpacks, theyll stop producing assault marines
The upgrade sprue which was phased out and is no longer produced, you mean
Post great rift is chaos more common knowledge?
kind of
Nvm they don’t sell it anymore my bad
They still sell the firstborn upgrade sprue for space wolves so ??? That’s on me
I mean technically there’s the hounds of morkai
i mean specific models
like the BT ones
I highly doubt GW is ever gona fully drop firstborn personally
Makes no sense as long as they sell
Because of the backlash, theyre doing it very slowly
Wouldn’t even say backlash
theres almost 0 firstborn promotional material anymore, besides HH
They’ve kept the kits that sell super well
Firstborn are relegated to Horus heresy now
they have not made a new firstborn for 40k in years
I don’t care enough to discuss primaris doom posting but I get why you’re concerned
because there's no Primaris version yet
But I highly doubt GW is gona ever kill firstborn
They will, it'll take a while though
Doubt it
I'll probably be 30 by then, but they will
We’ll see 10 or 20 years down the line lol
Eh GW seems to be refocusing on non marine stuff more now
9th only had bladeguard, assault intercessors, outriders and eradicators
I just want firstborn models back which arent boring blank slate primaris
a crumb
a crumb of actually nice models..
Okay don’t you dare slander bladeguard like that
Bladeguard are nice but still blank slates for the most part
Eh disagree personally
Im a blood angel player
Primaris are disgustingly blank
I want to be drowning in details and iconography
Death company intercessors
Literal garbage
Worst unit ever lul
useless on tabletop
noone takes them other then gaslit 15 year olds in a GW store

So nothing like marines in artwork normally?
They’re pretty plain in art
Artwork is lies
not at all
This primaris blood angel looks great, but it doesnt exist
The assault intercessor with the yellow helmet is pretty plain
Parchments, iconography on their arm
There’s always a few marines with a lot of detail but the rest are plain as hell normally
its boring
unless the blood of baal rumors are true
with new tyranid models and space marine primaris terminators
Primaris terminators will never exist
not even GW would do that
Take your grav heavy weapon primaris and shut up
We’re prolly just gona get new terminators lol
they're rumors after all
Terminators are FAR too iconic
for 10th edition
Even GW wouldnt do that
Current terminators ima be real with you
primaris terminators would be cool though
Look like shit compared to the chaos ones
And 10th ed isnt till like 2025
no, they wouldnt
They dont deserve it
Chaos terminators are objectively a better kit
and grav already looks like the inbetween of primaris and terminator
People just want new shiny things
it would imo, but okay
Did you grow up with firstborn
first born units will be gone in about 4-5 more years
Blood angel and dark angel terminators

and primaris will be the only stuff in
and i will fire bomb GW
Still inferior by a bit imo

The chaos terminator kit is one of the best kits GW has made
I know, which is why im depressed
People are blind to it now, just like in 2017 when they said Primaris wouldnt phase them out
Yes god, I love them. The mounting spikes
❤️
Also elite look at this
I know which one i'd rather buy
Oh wait, its not printed anymore

I still own one of the old blood angel tactical kits in a box
I should prolly get around to building them 💀
Even primaris enjoyers hate the blood angel primaris upgrade kit
its the worst one
I like white scars... so I'm still winnin
Sell them for triple the original cost
I love being a white scars player, no one remembers we exist
OOF it's one of those upgrades, with not enough options
that's a rip
makes me happier I play white scars
0 iconography or style gun and chainsword, boring heads with lore inaccurate hairstyles
Why are the pauldrons plain except the sergeant ones
GW forgot Blood angel lore
Every single one should've had a purity seal or two
Modern chapters are just ultramarine primaris painted a different colour and it makes me genuinely upset

I have 1 intercessor squad and infiltrator squad, a few primaris HQs and outriders
thats about it
i mixed the Black templar primaris bits with regular intercessors to make them look vaguely blood angely
because i care more than GW apparently
me just want outriders to be able to run more in a unit lol
so I can run 3x6 outriders in my lists
I'm a simple white scars fan
White scars and raven guard got it good
they barely had any specialty units to lose in the first place
You mean 0
1 or 2 characters
and we got him
not 0
we only had 1
both chapters had 1 unique character model
It’s 1 for every chapter but Ultras and the chapters that had its own codex
so primaris coming along wasnt a big deal
for blood angel players though..
Fucking hell
Except it got replaced with a really good one
white scars dont have more than 1 character
i didnt say they did
I know
i said white scars had 1 and ravenguard had 1
But it seems like the current head and design team in GW dont like Blood angels anymore, we've been in the shitter since 2016

Its why i started collecting other armies
GW just doesnt care about us anymore
Red Scorpions, my second ever army, got dropped too
Forgeworld literally only sells 1 of their models anymore and its the leviathan
they used to have a whole range
i've branched out to Sisters of battle, Krieg, World eaters and now Cadians
I want modern Tallarn models too though, love those lads
Elysian players who had their entire model range discontinued 💀
Tallarn and Red Scorpions too
I just play White Scars, Tsons, Daemons Tzeentch, Tyranids, and Genestealer Cults/Brood Brothers
I love my nids though
Red Scorpions had like 5 characters, Vanguard vets, assault marines, tactical marines, upgrade sprues, vehicle accessories and more
its all gone now
Mfw dkok grenadiers aren’t sold anymore bcs the fucking mold broke
all thats left is Carab culln
I bought him just so i can have him before he's discontinued too
That happened to the blood angel tacs i think
I might sell my tsons and daemons of tzeentch though
thats the leading theory anyway
I just dont play them anymore
Ngl would make sense
Those molds are super fucking expensive
It was a weird thing to drop, They'd still be sold even with Primaris rn
must have broken the mold
Oh yeah did you hear what happened to the non easy build plague burst crawler
mold broke?
The mold shattered after the first round
Which is one of the most tragic things ever lol
Another win for the UK
I bet it was because GW was cutting corners again
Like always
Pretty tragic that molds just fuckin break apart like that sometimes
You know those Spacemarine heroes boxes? the gatcha/blindbox boxes
Yeah but the other Dg molds haven’t broken yet
lol, I'm still waiting for genestealers, termigants, hormagaunts and gargoyles without mold lines
Oh my god those mold lines are so fucking bad
I started a gsc army
They first introduced the blindboxes in japan with 11 models
Then globally after several months with 9 units
then they've brought it back recently...
with 5
have fun scraping
💀
GW is too lazy to make another series of Spacemarine heroes boxes, so they brought back series 1 and is planning to sell them in 2 waves as a part 1 and part 2
its incredible how this company functions sometimes
I play GSC in kill team, and only in 40k with 1k because 2k is too expensive
unless my 2k list uses my signature patented baneblade
Regarding armies I play, I play CSM, admech, blood angels, and i have a dark eldar kill team
If you think those mold lines are bad, feel for me for a second when i have to get old Krieg models
Resin mold lines 💀
I got a krieg standard bearer with unfinished resin, flash, mold lines, missing pieces, bubbles
The only thing worse then plastic mold lines
The resin special
it was so bad i scrapped the guy and just kept his banner for a deathrider
I dont understand this, and they're first born too
Did you not contact FW for a refund
Resin doesnt do that anymore after like 2016
ebay
why not make custom blood angel primaris models

I did
But im not a Greenstuff wizard with no social life
50 cents say they fucking knew how fucked up the banner man was
I wanna see primaris Tycho with the combi melta
And they sold it anyways lol
so i mixed BT primaris with intercessors and upgrade sprues (the firstborn ones, the good ones)
