Tbf khaine is in fragments
Seems I'm fairly far behind on elf lore
Khaine is shattered to fuck
Lov Ynnari just wish it wasnt Gav again
What about the eldar laughing god who's name I can't spell
Where’s that void dragon fella
Cegorach?
It's like trying to bring back the C'tan
Cegorach
Whats he up to?
Sleeping in mars
Trolling as usual. But yeah, Cegorach's Great Jest
Most eldar don't like the Ynnari, because to awaken ynnead they had to kill off a craftworld
Or has this changed as well?
Upsetting the mechanicus
I would never
It's a matter of contention. They didn't kill Biel-Tan. Yvraine had to detonate their circuit to save them from daemons
Wasn't it confirmed in the Admech book ? Skitarii or something
No
Biel Tanish definitely have their reservations about the event, but it was either that or the circuit fed them
It’s just confirmed
There’s a thing down there
We dunno what the fuck it is
Just that it’s old
And evil
Grandpa off the shits again
But guys, can we all agree on one thing
Ciaphas Kain is the greatest warrior of the imperium
👩🦼
Sly Marbo doesn't come close
Yeah. It depends who is basically telling the story. The eldar presented it as "killing"
The Ynnari are the eldar
Severina Raine would like a word
The worry about the Ynnari coming from other eldar factions is mostly them not liking Eldrad/gang having stolen souls from various circuits. And them being in essence a death cult
Also Vect having his egirl stolen
I mean the "true" eldar. Not the mix of drukhari and eldar
Vect had an egirl?
The complete ban on the Ynnari in Commoragh is quite a giggle though
Lelith ran off to help the Ynnari for a short stint
He's a simp
lol
Lelith is basically a mega celebrity so it makes sense
Do Ogryn's worship the Emperor the same way humans do or is it just something that's convenient for them?
Simplord Vect
In reality it's because Vect doesn't want another faction to rival his power in Commoragh, since the Ynnari have quite a chance of consolidating the kabals/etc
And they don't have to follow his rules
Don't mind the space elf nerds
In 40k, worship is paramount, if you don't worship you're a heretic, unless you're mechanicus
They worship the emperor basically like humans.
they do but its not something they really think to much about, ogryn are simple minded and they dont really understand enough to ask questions
The omnissiah for political reasons is the emperor
So would you get an Ogryn that totally believes in the Emperor and would kill someone who didn't do their duty?
we shall ignore the leader of the imperium
I'mma have to go dark mechanicum on this one and just reject the emperor
And I'll take the iron belt along with me
I've come here for refuge. You guys are chill right?
depends, ogryn are kind of like dogs and will follow the orders they are given to the letter unless said orders involve them hurting those they care about afaik
Only if you hate eldar and tau
I know nothing about Eldar and Tau
Welcome.
Ty
good, i know about one of them but I ain't telling which
Ah thank you. Both your responses are what I was wondering. I'll have to read more about them
Joe confirmed tau fan
lmao
There was an eldar conversation a few minutes ago, Joe didnt join
Therefore tau confirmed
and also thank you Toaster and Navinor
Yes, I like cheap references to china and the 7 are just the power rangers and it's cool, how could you tell?
what do you guys think psyk-out grenades are made out of, exactly? we know it's emperor's "metabolic byproducts" but... which ones?
I legit only know the Imperium, Orks, and Tyranid
Hahahahah
not my fav faction though
have you ever seen the TTS audio-log of a custodes going through the "leakage" with some sisters of silence?
Nids are fairly bland once you learn about genestealers and lictors
:c
It's the only interesting parts about them
The poop grenades from Death Stranding
is that in the "if emperor had TTS" series? I never got around to watching all of it lol
Oh shit I remember the if the emperor had TTS
Shame Alfa had to stop it
yes
They were absolute gold
it's an audio - log of one of the custodes going through the giant leakage where the emperor's shit goes
in a nutshell, quite funny
I thought it peaked with the pillarmen custodes but I see there's more
Is the emperor basically like Mr. House from New Vegas?
it IS one of the pillarmen custodes doing that mosses, that's what makes it funny
Far less competent, somehow
His name is jimmy space
John Warhammer
Horus feline
Twat could've averted the entire heresy by just being honest
Which is why I hate the imperium
I doubt that tbf
What's everyone's favourite space marine chapters?, I'm just curious to see what the general consensus is.
Better not be ultrasmurfs
Ultrasmurfs and Iron Warriors, preferance for the latter
https://tenor.com/view/hulk-thor-punch-go-away-get-away-from-me-gif-25219647
i wonder if an ogryn would ever do this to someone they didnt like that tried to boss them around
me and my mate always had fun speculating about historical figures, for example I said that Genghis Khan was 100% elevated to a Daemon Prince of Khorne (you know how they never found his tomb? cuz there isn't one)
I wish toaster, imperium secundus two when?
Ngl, Crimson Fists, Minotaurs and red scorpions and the Storm Wardens are my favourite lore wise even if there's not huge amounts
Crimson Fists are absolute giga chads
He went full on autocratic on primaris
and they're spanish, so + points
Unironically Blood Ravens
Blood Ravens, DoW?
Tbh, they are a cool chapter.
Yes.
Can't complain about that choice
Mostly because of the semi-canon memes
my favourite chapter are the Silver skulls, the slender space marines with their chapter master "Tranyz"
I'm too "oldf and mature" to do memes
In other words, I'm a boring old twat
It's semi-canon, as well.
You can't bolt things down if they steal the bolts
Honestly thought blood ravens were entirely off canon

Nope, been on canon since... 7th? 8th?
They're even in the 9th.
they got their own rules? Damm
blood ravens are unironically rated as one of the best fighting chapters of SMs as well iirc
I'm a xenos mate
In fact, in 8th you could give them relics from other chapters, iirc.
Get out of here with your astartes
I remember when the real thief were the Salvar Chem Dogs
@scenic sun now in 9th, I dunno too much about 8th since I only relaly played crons
All jokes about the BR were done about the Chem Dogs previously
Then the BR stole them
Just say your crons are the silver skulls, then you're playing space marines!
Aww my joke got auto deleted
"Hey guise I like grey knights XDDD"
Added too many Ds
Honestly I love the idea of some of the IG regiments like the savlars
Blood Ravens, Black Templars and pre heresy Thousand Sons are my favourite chapters.
Pre-heresy I'll have to go with wordbearers
I do love the black templars just going out on Deus Vulting on everything lol
Pre-heresy probably Iron Warriors
Actually no I'll go for ultrasmurfs pre-heresy
Black Templars are like: "I came here to save the innocent and kill the heretics. And i see no innocent"
Theoretical: The ultramarines are the most efficient legion
Practical: Look at ultramar brother lol
Pre heresy: IF>>>>
Post Heresy: Death Spectres>>>
I have to ask on this one, but. With regards to the word bearers. What are their tactics and fighting styles? Because out of all the chaos legions, the word bearers are the ones I least understand
Honestly, can't remember. It's been years since I read the books
post heresy they're all about getting possesed by deamons and fucking people up with them
cooperating with deamons and such
Word Bearers pre heresy were basically Black Templars but noble
Unless you said the emperor wasn't a god
Which got them an arsekicking
They were cool
Aye exactly
True enough
together with the ultramarines they normally didn't fuck up the place too baddly
Wouldn't the Alpha Legion be the most likely to win a battle with as little structural damage as possible given their affinity to subversion and sneaky shit?
Yeah, the Emperor said to the Word Bearers they were not "fast enough", because they behaved like humans
what's the alpha legion? There's no such a thing as a 20th legion, there's only 19 17 legions in total!

Alfarius is spy tf2
Up to this day the Alpha legion still think they are the good guys
Back was sorting cat out (in #pet-tide if interested) but I think what drew me to word bearers is the fact that they showed independence
I wish I knew something about the alpha legion , there's like a blank space in my brain where they should be
Despite it being absolutely abhorred by everybody else
Also Salamanders. Because they're nice, wanna help, and like fire a lot.
And I can appreciate that.
Well, nice.
Nice for SMs
Ironic that the word bearers are the most enslaved to the chaos gods
with all their current worship
The Salamanders are the only "true" good guys
Difference between enslaved and volunteered
In 40k
They volunteered rather quickly
True enough, i'd say they're in that position voluntarly unlike some others
Lamenters are the true good guys, they just have issues
Salamanders are great if you're... Y'know, human.
Ultramarines are kinda good too
Stop mentioning ultrasmurfs or I will burn you
Just like the Ultramarines burned monarchia
lololololol
At some point a second primarch will return, i hope it will be Vulcan
Genuinely hate how good the ultrasmurfs are
Yes please.
I hope it's perturabo
Aren't there only two options?
I wanna see him EXTRA ORKY. Not quite TTS style, but like
why? Cause he's my favourite, I don't care
I only see Vulkan or Horus as returning
He has seen the WAAAGH!! energy
He knows what it means to be a ROIGHT N PROPPAH GIT
like, soul gone dead?
Also, Salamanders are green
I mean Johnson is an ice cold killer, dorn has issues, but Vulcan could make the Imperium a better place
But what if the second and eleventh suddenly return? 👀
horus' clone was a pathetic copy that got killed by abbadon
Gimme Fulgrim back
I remember crying when I read how it went down
Second and eleventh are more than dead i think
debatable
He was fighting it the entire way
the deamonette figures got him acting unwise
didn't they exorcise the daemon out of him but he was still like "Lol I'm still going to be an asshole"
Fulgrim was really cool before his fall. One of my most favourite primarchs. Then he went full bdsm
no, I hate him because of what he did to Perty. Don't care about mr lego man
Joe found his home
yes
Dorn perfect primarch
now go away
HE just doesn't like me
my dad owns discord
Lion el Johnson
yeah I don't like you vannox
Since I'm way more knowledgeable on lore than him (real)
I hate you UHHHHHH
Lion el Is p cringe.
Lion el is eh
Lion is literally a walking gay joke
bruh
Conrad Kurze?
Oh!
Batman but he's the joker
Kurze is a shitter
Conrad Kurze is such a dingus
"yes i am secret almighty spy boi, u cant touch me"
Don't mind me gonna scare the shit out of everyone.
honestly, maybe I just like assholes but I like Kurze
I think Ferrus Manus needs more love in the lore. Even some authors said they did him dirty in the early horus heresy books.
he's funny as fuck
Idk if you mean corvus on Konrad lol
Ferrus Manus is underappreciated I feel.
Was gonna say you can't really hate konrad after he called Guilliman a "Avenging bean counter"
Basically just pure edgelord
Night lords are so edgy
I may have had a few drinks, so I'll be mixing all kidns of things up
Night lords that's what their bloody name is
Dude every space marine except the Salamanders, ultramarines and Imperial fists are edgy
I beg to differ
let us be honest here
I mean.
Well "Space Batman" hated his own legion
Blood ravens aren't edgy
Chance accepted, differ and tell me
They're just polish
Accepted, but we don't know where they come from,
Poland
they could be ultrasmurf succesors
lmao
I can't really disagree on the edge comment lol
Oh god I'm sorry
Blood Ravens had some early lore pointing to Thousand Sons
I say this as a "Bitter siege masters" Iron warriors fan. They are edgy fuckers, I don't give a shit, they are metal and idc
Though I can't see much edginess of Caius Kantor and the crimson fists
Peturabo
Oh no, that's why I said the Iron fists aren't really edgy (discounting the black templars lol)
Iron warriors hated dorn lol
Iron warriors are the mortal enemies of Imperial Fists
Peter rabbit
they're his biggest rivals lmfao
no worries
Actually in tyears from laughter
Didn't Perturabo get done dirty in the lore?
He chaos
to be fair perty and dorn weren't that different, Dorn just liked to repress his feelings until he exploded
Dorn had giant space rock
Idk what happened to him but I know he fell to chaos but idk why or how lol
Thats a big difference
Yeah, kinda, yeah. He quite literally got the Mobian sixth treatment
Perturabo always wanted to be a builder, but was pressed into the profession of a warrior
he fought hard, thankless battles. And got shit for it
And the Iron warriors were always treated like a second range legion
No one gave credit, he coped, coped harder when the emperor told him he wouldn't be building the imperial palace, bombed his homeworld after a rebellion and had mental breakdown, killed his sister
Bruh
aaand joined horus cause he was scared of what the emperor would do to him for his crimes
Crys and bombs his own world
Unless it was Sanguinius
Peter Turbo was so god damn buttmad
was too
Going postal on a galactic scale
Honestly I love the smackdown his sister gave her just before she got killed by him. She literally killed him with words
First one found means inherent priority
I don't think you know what literally means.
Angron had the best lore. Before the butchers nails, he had the psychic ability of taking the pain away from the people who surrounded him. He was the most empathic primarch. And that broke him
Angron had the best lore but his legion was fucking shite
true, not literally, but... a part of him did die that day
and... horus was made warmaster. That's high praise
Uhhhh
Wasn't the wolf boy found second ?
want me to spoil you?
Horus wasn't the first to be found
I'm a xenos
Oh shit, really?
Fucking hell hahahaha
His twin, Omegon, was the last to be found
or was it Alpharius who died and omegon who went mad?
Ahhh... no one knows, we know one is dead
Magnus was ment to sit on the golden throne. Imagine that.
We just know one is dead the other is insane
lmao
Magnus has the power to do it
And I approve of magnus
I wonder
magnus honestly is crazy OP and should've been able to destroy the wolf
if he wanted
I belive
Well Magnus could destroy the wolf
To some degree
Forgot the name of them
But Tzeenth has many plans
But Malice tier
Who's malice?
I am pretty sure he is tzeench's puppet, but don't know much
<@&735928989146939404> Excuse me, but I would like to someone about a project I'm working on about warhammer. This is probably the biggest thing I'll ever do and I would like to ask you about it to make sure I can send this up to the developers of this game to get their opinion as well.
Reminder that the sons of Malal are cannon
probably something for @lime crane to answer, i'd what the standard for that kinda thing is, if we do it at all
Guys this is a new kind of code
Oh yeah didn't they try and eat an inquisitor or something?
Magnus tried to kill his own legion after the change to automatons. Tzeenth told him directly "Do not kill my minions. All according to plan" 🤣
thank you. I shall wait here for his response.
and hate all other chaos legions even more
Apollo, if you want warhammer lore, bribe them to get in touch with Abnett
I'd sell my house for a 5 minute conversation
@burnt plover is not a developer but he's been making a huge warhammer fantasy project himself, he might be interested
I just can't wait to see if the Iron Warriors restablish the empire of Iron once again
And see what the world eaters are going to do now that angron's comming back
I may, however this is something much bigger than most things. I can talk to him, but it isn't a story that I'm doing persay.
Toaster that'd be amazing but sadly GW hates Elves
Apollo, you might want to specify, are you doing Warhammer fantasy or Warhamer 40k
You just left it kind of ambiguous
although they recently gained a tournament that has gone cannon, so yay elves!
@burnt plover may I pm you to tell you my plans for my Warhammer project?
I really wanna see some imperial guard models that aren't cadian, catachan or krieg
I remember they had vostroyan and some tallarn riders a few years ago
You also had the FW Elysian Drop Troops for a while as well
Oh yeah I remember the elysians
Elysians are cool, can we get mobian sixth models GW?
we need traitor guardsmen on table top
👀
That'd be cool
You guys actually have models?!
KT has them which bangs
Honestly with new guardsmen rules, you could p easily make a match
I remember the old old pewter Guard models, of Vallaha, Mordia and Praetoria being sold
Only time I've touched models was when I was removing fluff
I'd love some mordant acid dogs
it's a table top game with pretty open ended lore, if you want to use KT models i doubt anyone but the most strict of GW store managers will complain
I've got OCD, so I've never been able to get myself models
I can remove the fluff for people and be paid for it
But I don't know how to paint
don't if you have OCD, I've only painted two chaos space marines myself and it is helish to get stripes right
And I'll absolutely die from anxiety if I have unpainted models
Oh no, I know, I can remove the fluff perfectly
And quickly
But I wont attempt to paint
I think I've got some primaris and necrons to paint
I love the act of removing excess from models
I can't be bothered 😂
But the moment that excess is done, it needs to be removed from me
I have zero artistic skills, so it gives me anxiety to know I'll fuck it up
heard knights or titans are great to paint and learn, you got lots of stuff to do your own thing
buut... the price
Again, I'll never want to paint
I'm not a creative or artistic person
Removing excess is immensely satisfactory to me
Models are more like a coloring book than actual painting at the easier methods
I used to make rings and shape them etc
So never anything artistic in and of itself, but I prepped things for it
Damn, I managed to kill a chat on this server of all places
Sorry was just looking at Imperial guard regiments.
I wish the lesser known ones had a tad more lore to them.
Feel free to pop a DM. Note I'm not James Workshop so limited in my scope of help
It's mainly like the Mordant Acid dogs, but all they get is some fluff in an out of date codex lol
Honestly, when I got into 40k lore at first, Iw as annoyed at how everybody was a loyalist
And like, people weren't even edgy and liking chaos or drukhari
So I did my best to avoid all imperium lore
Aside fro mCiaphas Cain
Haha, some of the chaos marines are quite cool imo.
imperium is the face of the setting, you kinda have to read about them
Ciaphas Cain and Severina Raine are two of my favourite commissars
I'm forever ork
Aye I know Joe
Go and krump
"aye u wantz ta buy dakka bu' no teef?"
"punch yter mate"
Drunken ork attempt failed
I'm pretty sure this bit has already been thought of by someone, but I think it'd be an interesting tidbit if the Mourningstar or other 40k faction found the voyager golden record but were so changed by time they couldn't recognize the images or songs of their own species and hailed it as an alien artifact
My girlfriend turned around to me the other day asking why I liked the orks, so I showed her the pancreasnowork video on them and now she understands lol
Things like that already happened in the lore funny enough
Pancreasnowork lol, fav youtuber
I've tried for two years to get my wife into the 40k universe
But she ONLY cares when I talk about orks
You dont have to read a lick of Imperium if youre powerful enough
Orkz be best
Funny how the space marines are supposed to be the begginer-attractive faction
Then you have the orks hoarding everyone lol
Honestly no
Surface orkz are common, yeah
But the moment anyone reads just a tiny bit into 40k
I've always gone by go with the faction who's lore and design you love the most
You have to be very stuck up to dislike the orks, they may not be everyone's favourite but they catch new people's attention
Nah, to dislike orks you just need to know about their culture
Just so happens that krumping and waaaghing is a good past time
Kultur
Orks are like extra-grimdark humour
Sey it roig zog it
it's the power of belief that I find funny lol
Im p sure 2022 has been a year of balancing in terms of sales. Personal anecdote of course, but I see more Necron players than marines now
Red makes you og fasta
My store is somewhat of a outlier, we have 1 loyalist marine player and everyone else is xenos or chaos
Yellow give bigger boom
It probably helps that loyalist sm might be the worst army in the game post guard launch
Technically already worse statistically
I'm personally an IG fan because nothing is better than being your average Joe Smith in a world where death is bloody and brutal but at least the explosions are cool lol
Meh, I believe most players don't care if their army is balanced
They collect cause they like them
Its a mix
They might collect them but not play yhem if theyre bad
Thus why I might not be seeing them
Theres a difference between being okay with losing and losing every game
Weird how a lot of big YouTubers and other big names are space marine fans though
Alot of those ppl dont play the game
Space marine is an easy thing to fanboy
And also yeah marines are just popular
I like space marines but it's the ultra marines I dislike just in being poster boys lol
Ultramarines are cool if you just like practical stuff
They're good at everything but specialise in nothing
Or the most level-headed space marine, the most "average Joe" of there can be a average Joe space marine
During Matt ward's era yeah they were annoying, now they're just jack of all trades, let us be sensible and flexible in how we conduct warfare
I like the red scorpions cuz they're all secret and isolated from everyone else with suggested links to Belisarius
But the minotaurs are great cuz they're just anti space marine space marine douches
But then it begs the question of, where did the minotaurs come from?
Moloc didn't fight Valerian at all
but Valerian didn't see a way to end the fight in seconds
which is how custodes usually fight duels
But what if they're thunder warrior descendants?
Fair
Custodes are like actual menaces, top of the food chain
Weird how no one hates them for being Mary Sues (I don't)
Probably because they don't spread at the same rate as the tyranids and ultrasmurfs
They're still mary sue as fuck
I don't hate them
but some people who play them are fucking atrocious lol
A lot of people actually do
their subreddit also bitches a lot about how custodes can die to anything like a normal human can, for example a genestealer cultist with a mining laser
Tbh
Every fucking person in 40k is a Mary Sue
Like every single faction is ruled by Mary Sues
Jurgen is the Merriest of the Sues
How very dare you
It’s a worthless term
Deus ex jurgen
The difference between custodes and marine fans is that usually marines fan atleast recognize mary sue moments
Custodes fans want more of them
And actively get pissy if they aren't wanked
YEP.
They still bitch about harlequins murdering a few of them to this day, its hilarious
Esp when your entire faction is just being Marines+
I mean we can generalize about faction fans all we want
Not really
at the end of the day most of their fans are elitist assholes
literally everyone knows this and mocks them for it
Reminds me of every harle fan being alright with the nerfs vs custodes getting nerfed after hitting like a 60% W/R and fuming because their busted stratagems got limited
Like if we’re just taking the worst of every fandom then CWE fans are literally incapable of not complaining every single day about their faction. Like every faction has shit fans.
Custodes are still the worst
Its more the after-effect of your faction being advertised as the best of the best endlessly and doing shit like murdering an entire hivefleet with just 4 custodians
Yeah Custodes are p easily the worst
Tau fans when you bring up the Tau aren’t good guys for example
CWE and Tau get leeway because their authors hate them
LMAO
I mean at a certain point idc much, it’s just annoying
Now that I think abt it I actually find Dkok shovelposting more tolerable
Idc who you’re a fan for but if youre just bringing other factions down or other fandoms down
Than Custodeez "Yeah well 1 guy could easily solo all of the eye"
Which I find plenty of all fandoms do
And I’ve never seen a fandom who doesn’t wank their own faction
Again
custodes do it way more
its genuinely not the same thing, at all
when Shadow Throne was coming out they were up in arms about GSC being able to go up against them lmao
r40klore lit up with like 20-30 threads in a single day
Shadow Throne remains the best boxset for the sheer monument against the mustard crusaders it represents
And I see Eldar and Tau fans bitch in their about stupid shit everyday too
Like, every group has toxic assholes
It just tends to pendulum around which one you see more on certain subs
But I’ve seen cycles of almost every faction being insufferable
Custodes dont get shat on in every book and engagement they take part in
for starters at least
And Tau and Eldar don’t either
literal bait
Yes
Hang on gotta install the "delete blocked messages" plugin again
Can't handle the attention crying
Shadows over Heaven for example i presume?
Valedor for example is a great example for the Eldar
Like I agreed they have shit books, but it’s just endless bitching at this point
It gets super old
Almost every faction gets fucked over unless they are literally almost gods lmao
Marines Moment
I dont see a space marine cower in fear at the sight of a chaos marine approaching
Marines have a ton of dogshit books tbh
They can be dogshit yet still be wank
A fucking knight Castellan, the biggest and strongest from of imperial knight, got fucking destroyed by a single ork
Cannonically
Path of the Drukhari was a great series and I don’t care about Drukhari
Ok but so? I never said I like Gav.
My point is it’s always just negative Nancy stuff
And a warlord titan got destroyed by like what, 4 orks?
Over like decade old books
Its not when its really deserved
Or longer
Imperator titans literally, have one appearance where it doesn’t get destroyed in the same book.
It doesnt really matter when its the only lore material book-wise the factions get
Marines you can ignore since they get shitty book releases daily
most other factions like xenos get stuck with 4-6 if they are lucky
There’s plenty of marine fans who have just as much right to be upset tbh
Raven Guard fans get Jack shit
Iron Hands aren’t written well mostly
Salamanders are stuck with Kyme
Raven Guard literally have no books
Hey we have the worst audio drama!
Outside of one heresy book
Eldar have several good books if we’re like, doing a book by book thing, my point is it doesn’t always have to be so negative
blood ravens were forced to be in dawn of war 3. a truly terrible fate.
And its a good one
Yeah
so doesnt exactly add up
fans got the right to be pissed when the only reading material of their faction is dogshit lmao
what books do the orks get
Brutal Kunning and uh
and that
are both good, so I've heard
Xenos basically get nothing
Oh but aren’t they getting a. New grot book?
Yeah they can be upset, and I can get tired of the same exact bitching dialogue tree every single day from them on every forum for 40k

Yeah
I have a small question. Which order has the most terminators in use?
are grots just small orks or do they come from a different fungus
Isn’t it continuing a book from like, 3rd edition?
The uh, one with the humans who act like orks
Nah its unrelated
Same fungus
same fungus, different critters
that said, warhammer fantasy had goblins be technically capable of reaching orky sizes, like Grom the Paunch, or the universally-despised Hobgoblins
presumably 40k being as much of a meatgrinder as it is is why you don't see grot equivalents
at the same time you've got snotlings (smaller, actually retarded goblins) and a whole shitload of kinds of squigs (teeth with legs as a rule, ork dinosaurs as an exception) also from the same fungi, forming a self-contained ecosystem of orkiness
the Iron Hands actually got written about?
isnt squig shit vital to grow new orks or something like that?
They have a two or three books I believe in which I don’t know if I’d say they’re bad necessarily, but it doesn’t really do with the faction what I think makes interesting about them, and it makes them less cold and calculating, and like morally uninvolved and more just easily offended or being jerks for no real reason
I don't know about shit but they're both an essential lower food chain item and used for all kinds of nonsensical utilities
Orks all grow from fungus
Squigs are just tools to the orks
if you see a daily life object
theres a squig version of it
Which was kind of nice about the iron hands is there at the end of the day they split into a bunch of different clans so it could be kind of hard to nail down one specific culture about them but authors and I think games workshop in general has a particular idea they want for them, which I personally don’t really enjoy
so table squigs
If theres a boombox squig then theres a tablesquig
lol true
I iron hands are one of those chapters where I think the idea of them is extremely cool, but for whatever reason they never really got an author attach them who wanted to do anything with them and unfortunately, they kind of missed the bus I never having much of a impact in the heresy series
Fortunately, I am here to keep the entire chapter stocked with characters purely from my Deathwatch RPG list
do titans need to be deployed if the orks build a gargant
no
that or special titan killers like the shadowsword
the David Guymer books are actually pretty solid, but it's just a retelling of their codex supplement
they can get pretty deep if you delve into their physique. Sort of a extended self harm coping after daddy died. The forge father has added a new dynamic.
Can you mention one time the imperium went against a gargant without titans?
They deploy titans for way less when it comes to ork infestations
where there titans in helsreach?
Legio Invigilata, was at Helsreach
The Legio Invigilata fielded 19 Titans at Helsreach
k
I'm sure there are examples of the Imperium fighting gargants without titans but probably due to lack of resources
The primary method of eradication when it comes to orks is exterminatus
that said do not underestimate the trusty shadowsword
So what you fight isn't the issue
It's about what you need to utilise to win
Titans have defences against exterminatus if sufficiently advanced
Istvan is a glorious example of that
Well, titans can survive a virus bomb exterminatus, presumably they probably can't survive a two-stage cyclonic torpedo exterminatus that blows up the planet itself
I think I remember those books being pretty good yeah
otherwise you're right they got a raw deal in the heresy and nobody has really attempted an ongoing modern era series
if thats the case than any battle with the orks is just an automatic net loss for the imperium
Yes?
That's why a certain inquisitor pitted the nids and orks against eachother
And sacrificed an entire system
that was not at all a normal thing tho
whassa difference between a force sword and a power sword? Is one like powered by lasers and the other powered by brain...lasers?
hell it literally got kryptman excommunicated
gotcha! Do they act differently in game, like?
It wasn't a normal thing but it was effective
fr it's an actual blade with an energy field
Once your planet is infested by orks its nigh impossible to get rid of
it wasnt about the orks tho
No, but he knew how to utilise the resilience of the orks
in darktide? not sure, presumably force sword would be psyker only
Because the two of them create a stalemate
I think the power sword in game can literally bisect enemies if you turn on the blade, but the force sword can only behead people
and now the imperium is sending in the DKOK to fix that mess he made
And you no doubt have faith the imperium will succeed
im just saying i dont recall any other ork invasion ending in an exterminatus unless the world was lost to them
force weapons are equipped with a psi-convector, which is basically a fantasy magic focus
it helps concentrate and direct a psyker's natural energy
The whole octarius war seems to have basically ended in a tentative Tyranid victory. The Swarmlord showed up and killed the Overfiend, and the Orks are basically fragmented after that and are spilling out of Octarius to do other things
so all kryptman did was buy time
yup, the eldar did get involved at one point and deployed some doomsday weapons to try to curb the war, but the end result is that the Tyranids won
i wonder if that means the main body of leviathan will continue on to sol, assuming kryptman was right and that it is the hivefleet's goal
It’s basically what his goal was at first anyways
Ideally they’d destroy one another but without his gambit a massive swathe of the Imperium gets blindsided and destroy
still the octarius war is not a good example of how the imperium normally handles ork invasions
namely cause no ork invasion was involved in starting it afaik
Yeah there's plenty of actual novels that depict how at least space marines deal with Ork invasions, like Rynn's World
Or there's the whole War of the Beast series
Death or Glory also covers the guard dealing with an Ork invasion
and i doubt any of those end with the planet being exterminatused after they win
Most planets are too valuable to just virus bomb and rebuild everything. Cheaper to just keep your garrison around and send them to cull Orks and burn things as needed
Well Octarius wasn’t really about the Orks
ye
They were just the unintentional “bait” or useful enemy
yeah iirc kryptman's original plan was to just starve the nids on their way to terra
Basically, he eventually led them to Octarius to kill two birds with one stone or stall them
ye
I'm glad how much the Devs have been faithful to lore
Devs?
Mate they have Abnett whipping them the moment they try to deviate
lmao
They chose to work with a cornerstone of the 40k universe
They have fuck all to say
I mean they did the same with Vermintide, I doubt they were out to fuck up the lore
THE Dan Abnett?
They clearly are invested in both universes
No wonder the lores on point
Tanith cosmetic in store when
Abnett fangirl100%achieved
I'm a xeno not a loyalist :c
Abnett does have the upside/downside of generally writing very heavily nerfed marines compared to every other author it seems
I still love his writing
Aye, Abnett is more down to earth
And he fleshes out characters

Third book of the heresy, nothing made me cry as much
ngl that is only a downside if you are a SM simp/brainlet so
That fucker knew how to play peoples emotion
Poor Ignace
I was so angry afterward
Well, I'm not really a fan of how the way he has the regular people kill marines is by having the marines suffer from plot induced stupidity and wander out into the open where 100 people can open fire on them
I simply want more authors to clown on loyalist marines, it's always the chaos marines that suffer from stupidity
Abnett does what he can to rescue their plot holes
but of course you can't do anything mean to the loyalists, because that would mean less plastic sales
Well, there was that weird Dark Angels post primaris novel with the Tau
It's easier to understand xenos and move your way toward the imperium
Than the other way around
But GW hasn't worked that out yet
tbf being stupid is literally a core part of the world eater's battle tactics just charging head long into no man's land screaming blood for the blood god
I mean, it's worked pretty well for Kharn over all these years
You guys seem to forget that loyalism is what GW wants from most people
Honestly Lucius is my least favorite character in the setting still, he feels like someone's overpowered OC
ANd the moment people learn more about the 40k universe, they know they'll hate the imperium
"My character is the best, even if you kill him, he'll just hijack your body, so he wins anyways"
So the imperium is a prime starting point when you dont know how filthy they are
Abnett isnt overseeing everything about the game
No I know. I was referring to story wise
hell rn the xeno armies are outselling the SM armies iirc

Marines always sell more, they are sadly more or so always on a pedestal that cant be replaced
Witchfinder? Are you responsible for my arrest and why I am in this mess now!?
Witchfinder is responsible for insulting my ego
Uh no i just thought it sounded cool as a title and its my 40k OCs profession so eh

fucking banana helmet
fucking lmao
KEK
I noticed that too
i hate that craftworld just for their colors
ye they have great lore, but shit colors
;_;
bananas
Marines typically outsell all other factions combined
Space elf confirmed
I seriously doubt Xenos are outselling them
Maybe for like, brief periods after model releases or something
If I were more sober
i wouldve pointed out my merchant teef ork guild
that i forgot the name of
thats mostly because Marines are your super basic space-trooper man with a gun, they have been on a pedestal forever and cannot be beat.
It's not like AOS where factions with actually cool aesthetics usually equally get a good share of the attention cake

they would outsell everybody with their teef
this post was made by the Nagash Gang
i have a hairbrained idea that they could add in darktide, What if we meet the Rogue traders retinue for certain missions, shops or future DLC?
iirc someone in this discord said it was because 9e made the SMs like the 2nd worst army so a lot of SM players started buying other armies but i may be misremembering
Bad moons!
Rogue Traders might already be involved
unless the prop department got it wrong the front banners of the morning star got the RG logo
They are, they own the ship we're on apparently from dialogue
Yeee
the lady that commands the ship is a rogue trader, I've heard dialogue in the game that explicitly refer to it yeah
yep
Makes sense
i mostly stitched it together from the banners
Would be cool maybe seeing an eldar or tau who the Rogue trader hired and they give us special missions
or, future DLC missions
we shall see
shame that you don't meet her ever though, honestly not a fan of the story cutscenes at all tbh
One look at her hairstyle was enough tbh
Years since the last guard codex release, new models, new variants. Soon we will take our rightful place as the best selling army… and then I’ll be priced out of everything
What do you mean
didnt you like the super not obvious plot twist
if you have subtitles on the lady's name is shown in the intro
ok warden reported for spoilers
Some of the cutscenes definitely need some polish
my dad owns tencent
ITS LITERALLY IN THE GAME
When the inquisitor said that and then immediately said to step your game up, I couldn't stop laughing
NOOO
It was hilarious how they introduce this traitor plotline, and then you literally never interact with that aspect at all, and then the plot wraps itself up completely out of your control

You do know we haven’t like
Honestly im gonna spoiler my messages either way but imo it literally ruins nothing
Played the campaign fully right?
Games not out yet
||I love how its literally a nobody Zealot the interrogator murders, even your character is like "Who the fuck was that"||
We'll see in 9 days who's right
Dont care
I doubt we'll have anything that's actually a story mission, it'll just be more busywork
ye i doubt we have the full plot rn
Game fun
yeee
It just feels like all the devs went to bed and they forgot to press the "cycle missions" button before going to bed, so its chasm terminus for the 3rd day in a row
🧍♂️
And fambly
HEY
LEMAN RUSS BATTLE TANK
THANKS MORROW WE GET IT
I just want a mission that I can speedrun as fast as screaming bell so I can power level
CAN YOU LIKE, STOP
Let me go back to the surface mission!
no he cant, he is from the steel legion
It was fun and cool!

lmao
I’ll toast you
Suck it nerd
but yeah im still interested in the loose plot of the game, the soundtrack release does hint at a few things
why do you have so many amoungus memes?
also that one backgroudn screen with the ACTUAL upper hive city looked fucking awesome
Also you know
You have to admit though, it was fuckiong great wasnt it Witchfinder?
I'm in 90+ servers for emotes, dont ask
It was!
I don't want to ever see them tbh, they're much better as a faceless entity that's so high up you don't even know what they look like for real
yes I am using hyperbole by saying he definitely is gonna be the Inquisitor, it’s totally possible he’s someone else
That tracks with the other opinions you’ve had
dunno if that's supposed to be insulting, but sure, at least I'm internally consistent
