I think the less fascist imagery wehraboos can staple on guards the better
what can you do
I mean, it’s a mostly fascist regime
yeah thats what I said
People are gonna do it no matter what
It goes beyond fascist id say
its pretty fascist
Mfw the faction is fascist but not that kind of fascist yikes
Yeah
theres a reason the aquila is so angular and threatening
and no its not because of rome
Like, for it’s just, who cares? Nothing is gonna stop wehraboos
Romeaboos in the history department... 😔
And say what you will about Nazi Germany, they had a good look
Nah, nazi soldiers had shit drip sorry.
wow hot takes
I would say objectively Nazis had a good look
Imma quote that
they have some elements of german in their armor but its very much not the focus i agree
There’s a reason it’s stuck around in fiction so much
Later
evil is just too aesthetic
Fatigues with a dinky helmet is bad aesthetic
the most german thing about DKOK is the helmet
it's french coat, german helmet
And officer uniforms in general are terrible
good ol 3E Summer 2000 Third War for Armageddon global campaign, it was huge
the gasmask is kinda close to the german guilly mask as well but ofc has the french tube and external filter
GW could never do such big global campaigns again after EoT debacle :c
Yeah there’s a few elements, it’s kinda a WWI mishmash in some ways, but it’s mostly French as you say
Why do cadians have purple eyes?
magic
cuz of EoT
ye. hell one regiment of them literally use ww1 french army colors lol
or leftover gene editing who knows
Eye of Terror affects them at genetic level, the same goes for Ulthwe
The eye of terror
Ulthwe's close proximity to the Eye of Terror also had its toll on them, having the least number of Aspect Warriors compared to other Craftworlds
There's probably all sorts of weird leftover gene therapy shti floating around in the imperial microbiome/virome
I figured it was warp stuff but i thought id ask here cuz quicker response time
They used to stare into it as kids as a rite of passage
To kinda learn to resist its call
Probably also the reason the average imperial solider appears to be like 6 feet tall with rippling biceps
Probably once gene editing gets big everyone will pay to make their kids 6'1" with 5% bodyfat
TRASH
Are we sure those aren't like coolant tubes or something
Lookin like two distinguished condoms
might as well wear mcdonalds uniforms
But I'm generally very picky when it comes to army aesthetics. I like contrast which is why I love the flagship gear for Veteran with the urban camo pants and red shirt
The important thing is: Mordians have the best look
Note, the tasteful shoulder tassels
The immaculate uniforms
The stylish hats
Oh my god, they even have side buttoned jackets
what about the new space force uniforms
i hate the iron guard with a passion. get back on the parade grounds you clowns is i would be able to say to them
The tassels are a bit much I won’t lie
It looks like a halloween costume
They’ll fuck you up, and they won’t dirty their jacket doing it
i do like the Aliens style weird suit collars lol
I just like them because they’re disciplined as fuck
Elysians are pretty dripped out
the beige poopy suit
Mordians are what people think Krieg are
thats great. why so they wear parade uniforms into battle tho?
Elysians really brought the ODST drip
Morbians are Mordians but better
excited for Accatran pattern in Darktide
Eldar or Tau are about as closea s it gets
Because it’s part of the discipline
morbin time
They come from a lawless world and are rebuilt basically to be disciplined as hell
This art is amazing
Discipline means NO HELMET
it's space technology
Ok now
they could wear armored hats
Not a fan of the solar auxilia
i think they look a little too retro
Are we really gonna go into irrational design choices for 40k outfits?
good ol deep strike guard
The tempestus scions I think dress too much like xenos
the poitn is to look cool
Also it works for some reason
Doesn't this look like some Eldar or tau shit?
ikr 😍
We all know that commissariat discipline is easier without something in the way
They're going for like a renaissance style breast plates thing
oh trust me. there are many IG regiments with far worse looks than the iron guard
I prefer the good ol pewter mark bedford stormtroopers over 2014 6E-7E tempestus scions honestly
THIS is what scions should look like
mark bedford stormtroopers were tacticool and were more like HECU
Those skulls are way too small
tho I like tempestus scion berettes as a callback to 2E jes goodwin stormtroopers
This shit kekw
The issue is if you break that discipline. For example if their officers were killed >w> the mordians are cool and do well enough but that discipline can be their downfall
the reason i hate the iron guard is because. they honestly look like DC comics metropolis cops more than actual soldiers
I love this Scion look. Maximum edginess
yes
Tempestus Edgelord
And the best part is, there’s no real reason for it
It’s not like a symbol of anything
They fight Eldar but it’s not like a fear thing
It’s just their look
Psian Jackals
Me: Googles new IG models
Google: New IG models..
Me: WAIT NO! STOP!
in areas with little light having mostly black armor and cloths can be a boon
I really like the new IG models with actual boots and ARMOR SUSPENDERS
I love armor suspenders
I love the powerfist xD
Me: googles “Dark Angels subreddit”
Google: you perverted bastard
Me: No wait I meant 40k I mea-!
Me when I have to put 40k before my sus google search :(
google the fallen
what do you mean there's no reason? skulls are sacred iconagraphy in the imperium, lol. there is a skull featured as the centerpiece for every division of the adeptus. the symbol of the emperor and the omnissiah are both literally a skull
is that a vox caster on the right?
cadian glory
it's no more out of place for them than it is for us to wear a crucifix
the skull is essentially the same as the cross is to christianity
I like these guys
like, the crucifix is literally an implement for brutal execution
So technically this isn’t a Kasrkin, it was from an RPG book which just had knockoff Kasrkin
But like
venerate the immortal emperor
It’s the same look almost entirely
Pretty much every other western flag is some sort of colored cross
Armored man go brr?
Pzzzshoom pzzzhooom
The Chem Dogs penal legion also is just absolutely DRIPPED OUT
They do be
I love cadia but gimme another regiment. I like imperial guard for its diversity
Oh nvm
and also demolition charges back
they say "KABOOM" when you roll a 1
ikr
plastic elysians when gw
plastic tallarn
penal legions should be dripped out because they're gonna die anyways what is their commissar or leader gonna do? Shoot em lawd

Salvar “Fuck me they stole all our ammo supplies again” Chem Dogs
chem riders ❤️
I gotta get back into imperial guard reading. That's probably gonna be what I'll do after path if the dank elves. I'm bad at setting a schedule for books.
Rip
rip, especially FW regiments
ogryn custom model lol
Cursed ogryn
lol
my man literally has a block head
minecraft regiment hailing from the planet minecraft
Reminds me old fantasy lore
When Warhammer Fantasy was supposedly a single planet that was cutoff from the rest of the universe
yup, 2E Codex: Chaos - Daemon Worlds army list N'Kari special character fluff hinted at it too
iirc there was other lore that literally had all of 40k being inside a bottle on a shelf in the altdorf collages of magic lol
ye
Andy Chambers' idea was that it was a planet lost in the Eye of Terror
Skwat
A Ratling who is cooler than you’ll ever be
Rick Priestley's idea was that they are two different dimensions connected through the Immaterium as per 1988-1990 RT - 3E WFB - 1E WFRP RoC duology
especially RoC: LatD
Got more hair on his feet than your whole body
that's why Andy Chambers still hints at the connection between 40k and WFB in 3E Codex: Necrons too
ratlings whennnn
Once a Ratling got shaved for a special mission, and donated the hair. The planet has had a supply of fresh wigs for centuries and counting.
him
though my favorite by far is john blanche
the dude basically defined the 40k aesthetic
John Blanche is basically mr. Warhammer xD
He wields 40,000 warhammers
Rick Priestley, Richard Halliwell, Bryan Ansell, John Blanche, Tony Ackland and Jes Goodwin
(and also Perry Twins and Aly Morrison)
i can’t tell if that’s chaos, or Orkz
yes
well that’s something
should be one of the adversaries of Codex: Witch Hunters as the Lost and the Damned
probably a mutant warlord
they're dough boys
that iconic blanchitsu style omg
The dude to the left. Is pettable. That dough head
lol
When it builds a bridge to connect to two sides
obese jack skellington vibes
He looks cute
got puppy dog eyes
absolute legend
Anyone else think Leagues of Votann look a little too sleek?
I’m not the biggest fan
same
Little generic sci fi for me
I like the Cthonian Beserks but that's it
ye
Cthonian Beserks remind me of good ol 2E Cyber Slayers
the main troops on the other hand are too generic sci fi imo I agree
I just think they look too pretty in terms of machinery shape and such. When 40k is pretty famous for how crude and angular shit is. Even Tau have a kind of dirty aesthetic.
I haven't looked at the votann yet. Just know they're dawi and that's it
Make em proper dawi
they're called squats
Will be there be uniforms for Arkan Confederates? I wanna go full Olde Southern a "Put the fear of the Emperor in the souls of these poor heretics. God-Emperor Bless their Hearts."
The FFG setting also had Squats, called "Lathemasters"
I thought you were texan
Not southern
They’re a pretty obscure regiment
So, I doubt it or they’re low on the list
Darn. Would be fun running around swinging a saber while looking like General Lee
Catachans are a very likely option at some point
I’d put them above Krieg in terms of lore relevance but you know
Internet and it’s shittaste in regiments
We’re 100% going to
We have shovels as melee. So you know exactly what's going to happen
Yeah
I hate Krieg shovel memes so so so much
It’s already in the files I believe
Kringe Korps noo
Or the leaks
attilan frag lance when
Gimme Tallarn pls
I saw steel legion style masks in the leaks
Tallarn, steel legion, Mordians, Elysians
So it could be steel legion cosmetics
Maccabians
Even GW did a Krieg bait with Kill Team lol
So many
savlar nitro chem-inhaler, just saying :3
mmhm, dope 👌
Aw yiss. WWII Wehrmacht.....IN SPEAS

?

armageddon ork hunters
It's what the Steel Legion are

pyran dragoons
Just gimme Howling Banshee so I can space elf my way through hordes of heretics.
Steel Legion were de-germanized like a decade ago
Also dont mention eldar, the rockbrains are gonna wake up

Dorfs
no brain
I need cyber mastiff
Love when he jumps 15 floors to maul someone
I need hive spyrer hunting rig
please no

Oh wait i think V6 has me blocked
even tho they joined 3 days ago and we havent interacted once
rip
I have you blocked too
Youngbloods, m

I. LOVE. ELDAR. let them come
I can't see that thanos snap meme cause you're blocked sorry

Yeah me too
wait let me test

Someone blocked someone? The plot thickens?
What if we blocked each other under the dead shovel meme 👉 👈
Medic is a chud from a year ago
basically does nothing but complain about lore against people
he ragequit after 6 people argued with him about some necromunda stuff
On god bro blood ravens are infact dark angels
THIS.
then gets mad when people tell him its stupid
tbh I thought we did know each other because your out of server profile pic looks similar to someone else I used to know
ah yeah its a sylvanas
But nope, empty DMs, guess it was Tzeentch messing with the timeline
i dont even play WoW so 😔
I know but I mean the art
ah
They did for sure
The art makes me feel funny cause women who look at me with disgust 😍
mood tbh
When you make them smile you know you've earned it 👍
Cooming
is force crossbow a thing?
Not that I’ve ever seen
I regret that I never mastered crossbows
Forbidden in Craftworlds. We shall not fall to temptation again >:O
Vermintide 2 crossbow on bounty hunter makes you miss it when swapping off
One shotting chaos warriors is nirvana
I love using the stupid repeater for it’s one use with the BH
Terrible gun, but fun for the one build
I was sad pistols don't have chaos warrior armor pen
condemnor boltgun when
Nova Cannon dlc when
Yeah it’s only useful for the no ammo usage crit build
Other than that it’s subpar compared to everything else
And even then it’s “useful”
Not on my craftworld bruh 🥴🥴😈
B...but the path o_o'
its actually not
they still have kids n shit
They do, but it's not in the same way as before the Fall of the Eldar Empire. They aren't hedonistic is what I'm saying
Bruh u ruined my RP wtf man
I'm guessing the Eldar home world was consumed by a warp storm when Slaanesh was born?
Yea
The eldar ruled most every planet in the universe... Technically their "home worlds", maiden planets, still remain. Some of them!
Others became crone worlds
cringe worlds
The crone worlds are in the eye of terror. Basically worlds that were immediately yoinked when slaanesh decided it was a good idea to exist.
crone worlder > craftworlder
look at the shriekers from fabius bile novel, they are awesome
Commoragh > Nose picker society
So could it be before Slaanesh there were very many more habitable worlds and the Imperium really only has the scraps left over?
The Eye of Terror is where the Eldar empire was located, or the heart of it was mostly
yup, that's why the eldar still try to recover their artifacts from the crone worlds
especially the spirit stones
In the eyes of the Eldar yeah. Though these planets are still in good shape in comparison to what could have happened.
eldar rangers risking their lives in both material world and beyond
To the Eldar the Imperium is just another empire that will fall because theirs fell. And they have a huge superiority complex even among each other sometimes despite The Path trying to fix that.
Aradryan o3o
void dreamers 😌
Imagine feeling superior in how wrecked your civilization was
You see, Imperium, when we got absolutely ass blasted by chaos, we created an INESCAPABLE HELL DIMENSION
CWE in life rafts still have a better civilization 😂
What did you do?
Iyanden has always been my fav Craftworld to be fair
Iyanna Arienal best
and also the Ghost Warriors 😌
Banana
6E Iyanden supplement formations were really good, 8E-9E specialist detachment not so much
I do have a soft spot for Iyanden, mostly cause i love wraith constructs
I like Iyanden but their color scheme has always been a bit too mustardy to me
Fluffwise they bang
yellow best
Wraiths being just space necromancy is the coolest fucking shit, its so unique
The Imperium typically have worse tech. And their ideologies block progress. Look from the Eldar perspective: these literal baboons come from some planet and claim right to a galaxy that was already claimed many times before. Honestly, if there is one thing the Eldar and necrons can agree upon is the internal agony they feel looking at humans.
Bananas are cool
ikr me2
You don't even get it mon'keigh! WE HAD SEX SO HARD! ;-; WE LITERALLY MADE A GOD! Why are you bullying us?! We're so much cooler. 😭
ace calm your shit honestly
Damn right we created slaanesh.
just being disruptive
Im going to reveal something mystical to you:
The Asuryani had nothing to do with the fall other than being the same species
Eldar look like human mutants that have adapted to low gravity.
Sends 1 message
"You're being disruptive"
im sorry all of the other messages from your account must have been from your twin
Exodite eldar pog. Return to Dino
yessss
Dragon Knights
I'd love to see the Exodites return in 10E
imagine plastic Dragon Knights kit
Ynnari best death cult
I made this like a year ago after getting tired of explaining
I rlly like the Ynnari now but I wish gav wasnt writing them
Also I wish you could still run the Yncarne and such in non-ynnari armies
they are a cool concept that poorly handled
Yeeep
Their rules are also the most anti-fun antisoup possible
Saving this. This is beautiful
ye, 9E rules made them basically a craftworld
Shouldve just waited and made them a supplement
Basically just a craftworld that can take gimped drukhari units 😂
yeee
Hey you copied my name
🤬🤬🤬
Ynnari and FSE deserve their own supplements
U dont own the #1 fan format grr
FSE I think are fine, Ynnari are just so wildly different fluffwise that its weird theyre just a CW
I haven't read anything ynnari. Kinda hoping it would be a turning point in eldar lore. I'm fine with rhana dandra but I would like something other than "this is our fate. We are dying. Lemme have some oxygen."
the rumour has it that the new 9.5E SM dex will be accompanied by 8E style codex compliant chapter supplements as mini dexes
wish GW would show the same treatment for the Xenos armies :c
Thats kind of the gist for Ynnari. They+ Eldrad hope to avert the Rhana Dandra via awakening Ynnead to kill slaanesh
(but then again Officio Assassinorum didn't even get their 9E update, still stuck with their 8E PA rules which is out of print)
The Ynnari got curbed when the 'end times' of 40k was dulled as a whole
So they wrote them into a wall
Yup, then the Death Masque went wrong because of the Deathwatch
Captain Artemis be like
Which is why I got into eldar books! I wanted to understand them before getting into the ynnari novels because im a big fan of defying fate and making your own destiny.
Lol deathwatch killing eldrad somehow
Fucking marines
Atleast hes back
Cant keep grandpa down
If Eldrad ever dies I swear. Ima scream and bust my windows
He has died like 3 times but keeps coming back

Here goes 4 of my windows brb
My neighbors told me to shut up
Really? Rip Eldrad
Good god bruh
ye, 7E Death Masque was interesting
Just go to a crone world ez
I remember getting hyped for the updated plastic harlie kits and their triumphant return as an army
Im just glad Biel Tan is being rebuilt. The true chads of the aeldari 😎
despite all the hate 7E got, there were cool things too such as DW finally becoming army after the cancelled Codex: Alien Hunters of old, GSC and Harlies returning
There rlly isnt any other than like codex info and such
I dont think BTan have a book
They are in DoW(cant remember which)
Rip im bad at codex knowledge
Biel Tan probably won’t get a book anytime soon also. On account of being split in half.
Honestly thatd bang
Court of the Young King ❤️
I just love the aspect side + the Swordwind so obvs Btan is my fave
Literally I just read novels, watch YouTube, and talk about 40k. It how I learn
I like all of the Craftworlds overall, but Iyanden is my fav of course
here is a thought, could a primitive civilization potentially walk through the warp to other habitable worlds? This way there could be a multiplanetary empire without the capacity for space travel
Probably
Saim-Hann Wild Host, Alaitoc Ranger Force
good ol IA11 Mymeara of Talima Fox & Alan Bligh
Shadow Spectres ❤️
Spectres bang
I only know of alaitoc in specific. They're too strict on the path for me so eh. I like seers and aspect warriors though o3o
ikr 😍
I will say I rlly love how CWE have remained simple to their subfactions. P much all of them represent some base gameplay style that makes them super identifiable
Ala Biel Tan aspect hosts, Iyanden ghost warriors etc
Saim Hann fast attack/Ulthwe psykers
And uh, Althansar dark reapers LMAO
I'm imagining space scaven appearing anywhere and everywhere to scavenge and steal things, and sometimes trying to sell their junk to aliens for space crack/warp stone
yessss
Maugan Ra single handedly towing Althansar out of the Eye is still my fave lore chunk
DOOM guy moment
Iybraesil as Banshee Craftworld
Maugan Ra coming to the aid of Ulthwe during the 13th Black Crusade global campaign of old was my fav moment, wish it was still part of the fluff in TGS
LETS GOOO
Every time mass phoenix lords show up is both fucking cool and also scary since Rhana Dandra
yup
I love uh, I think it was Biel Tan and Iyanden? Had some conflict and each had phoenix lords on their sides
poor Iyanden 😔
Its okay, Iyanden and Biel Tan have been jobbed for the plot. Now they may rest and rebuild
Three Phoenix lords coming to the aid of Alaitoc in Path of the Eldar def gave me chills. Certified eldar moment
Yeeeeep
Oh god the Karandras scenes in that are so cool
I rlly want to see a Arha book that leads into Drazhar
Karandras is a bro. And yesss the fallen Phoenix novel would be a banger
Incubi 😌
totally wasn't reading up on craftworlds
I like the warrior path a lot with the seer in a close second. So Biel-Tan is my beloved. Also they're close allies to Iyanden and that is some bonus points
As I go along the path of the dark eldar I'll learn about Incubi more. only relevant one I know is the one Kenainath gave a second chance to. Which is...I'm not gonna cry maan
ikr
Ok the Dorn is vastly improved (visually) by having the single turret instead of the double
far more aesthetic
Agreed, the double turret makes it look like a lighter tank tbh
YO
The rogal dorn tank turret looks too modernesque
Otherwise I’m quite impressed with it
That's funny cause Im pretty sure its based off a world war 2 tank iirc 🤔
That looks like my cultural dance
it looks a lot like a thicker Pershing
yeah the turret clear used the Pershing as its main inspiration
ofc GW did the same with the russ's turret
i think the russ turret is kinda based on the panzer 3
a bit yeah, being all angular
yeah
in the ogryn spotlight, he mentions komlar, and I'm wondering if it's an old place or if it was made specifically for darktide because it seems like there isn't much info on it
It's possible, I mean besides Cadia the planets you could pick for your character's backstory/place of birth were all in Atoma Prime, all made just for DT so Komlar could be related to the fringe wars happening in that sector.
Not gonna lie.. it looks bad
i think ether the professional or the loose cannon vet voice also mention komlar
Isn't that tied to the planet you chose ?
Like in the VA presentation one of the personality is supposed to be Cadian. But it ended up being tied to the fact you chose Cadia or not
Little Dark Age 40k video no.2914
Little dank age
hello there fellow 40k fans i have a question about Commissar Yarrick
is that true that he got his mechanical arm from a ork ?
and is that true that orc tech is useless if some one else tries to use it ?
so how come it worked on Commissar Yarrick ?
You're asking too many questions... questions lead to heresy
Yes.
Yes.
The arm more or so still has mechanical stuff in it and is basically a bionic attachment at the end of the day
so its not exactly a regular ork junk weapon
his animated short also shows techpriests helping him put it on first the first itme
I believe yarrick has a red eye that...may shoot lasers. The last part maybe just an ork myth because they revere and are spooked by the guy
He had one installed afterward
^
nah its real because he heard of that myth and had a digital weapon installed in his bionic eye
So he does have a red eye that can shoot lasers? Good lad. Make them orks believe he is the second coming of big E next. Then come the waagh and Yarrick is op
lol
nah that wont work. the orks already know of the emperor and see him as a weak useless god already
at least afaik
no it actually shoots lasers
Hmm, does The Thumper weapon have any basis in canon? I mean, I don't mind if it doesn't, I'm just wondering if it was just purely created for Darktide
Not that I know of
Ah, you all seem much more reasonable in this chat. The others are overwhelmed with chaos.
Yarrick is so badass that he gets to ride a custom Baneblade, the Fortress of Arrogance 😌
it's such a good name lol
ikr lol
Man is ready
Orks are a weird mix. Some see him as a proper git stompin' everything in his path. Some don't care and just wanna Krump.
One day the emperor will get off his throne and give the Orks what they want: the 10 thousand year rematch in the making! Ullanor electric boogaloo
Sorry was caught up reading a reddit thread on the beast arises series. Totally wasn't entertained by the comments.
Thanks for the reference! @broken zenith I hope this isn't imperial propaganda >w>
war of the beast was weird
VULKAN LIVES
stomp stomp
From what I've learned without reading it...yes. on one hand we see what the Ork could be in current day 40k. Return to being like the Krorks. On the other hand you get wild stuff. Like teleporting Ullanor just to have it be Armageddon...??? O.o?
Orks becoming Krorks is some 40k end times shit I can feel it
Or at least Ghazgkull becoming a krork
Harlequins slaying custodes like it's nothing despite the sisters of silence would have been a bane to them. Harlequins are great, so one or two custodes, sure. But not...left and right lmao
And yes the last thing anyone needs is a single Krork
Lmao
And then Ghazgkull became a krork and said "its krorkin time" and totally krorked all over chaos.
The last hope would be the necrons or tyranids to stop Krorkbius
Let’s just bring archaon to 40k
Krorchaon
its morbin time
I wouldn't mind if orks won end times, they deserve it after Grimgor got cucked in Warhammer fantasy :(
ikr
Ghazgkull krumps the big bad, and then leaves, refuses to explain himself, but everyone already knows. If the universe ends, there's no more gits to krump.
I will never get over the end times
Trusting mannfred.
I cant
Even
I actually raged at that
He had a very respectable face
I liked it when everything blew up
There is so kuch stuff prior to show you to not trust that vampire. And they do. I. Can't.
That face is...cries
Does that face not scream trustworthy? 🤔
Better than skaven
Skaven going apeshit is the best part
Aurora Borealis?
may I see it?
charismatic
:c
Seymour, the house is on fire
helpppp
Is the horned rat a lesser chaos god or a demon prince?
I think they're a lesser chaos god iirc
Great Horned Rat=Chaos God (Minor)
Verminlord=Greater Daemon/Daemon Princes
And while he doesn't have Daemon, he has all the skaven
I'd take a ratling gun over some stinky cyclops
As enemy ?
As a minion
What is bigger, nurgling or pink/blue horros of tzeentch
Horror
He’s one of the main ones in Age of Sigmar, but in Vermintide he’s a minor one.
Same ish base size
He ascended in AoS because the Skaven came out super duper on top after the End Times
Helped that Slaneesh got dumpstered too
But don’t worry she/he/it got better
Gary Stu-Sue yes yes
Nurglings will come in Vermintide 2 (hopefully)
Still needs more Enemies inside CW
Yes, but they might be tied to the event and nothing else, though they could be modified to become real units
New update put them in
Are they already out ?I though it was tomorrow ?
Yeah that one
Damn
Gotta dust of the old hammer, gotta sqash those little gremlins
Mh, sounds like a good time! Just keep your noses pinched
We really need a stomp attacj
Where do i put in the request so fatshark cna read it
We need stomps and kicks and maybe some spear hand shit too
Really ?
yo what the dogs doin
though yea they sound awesome
heresy and xenos research here befitting of my name xp
Cute doggo
just imagine death cult assassin in darktide so that I can roleplay severina & sevora
yesssss
cause he jumps, getit?
So I've learned from someone a bit more knowledgeable in stuff centered around the beginning of the 40k timeline. It's in relation to something in 5e and the Wild Rider's novel. Basically: Chaos has always been a thing. There was an alliance with the necrontyr and eldar to seal away Chaos.
I don't have issue with the last part because that happens all the time, but apparently at some point before the war in heaven, chaos was sealed away. Then everything happened as normal then the Fall of the Eldar empire exploded the seals with Slaanesh finally becoming a chaos God. (Apparently slaanssh was a thing before this because warp time fuckery that I honestly find a headache).
Anyways, I'm wondering just how badly incompetent and far gone the Eldar were as they were nearing the Fall since they knew of Chaos and what not for eons.yes ik craftworld and exodite aren't responsible for the fall idk why but this piece of lore has been stuck with me all day lmao
There were Slaneesh daemons that the Necrons and pre-fall Eldar fought too, time is optional in the warp.
As for how the fall led up, a lot of Eldar saw it coming.
Its why Craft Worlds exist.
There were lots of crazy preacher eldar in the streets sacrificing people and proclaiming the coming of Slaneesh.
The Eldar Empire is not represented by the Craftworlds
Its represented more closely by the Drukhari.
Yup, Commorragh was one of the biggest port cities of the Eldar Empire too
This is true. I haven't gotten to the Ynnari novels so I didn't know about this. It's definitely different than what is typically told with the war in heaven sparking chaos into being. At least from stuff I've watched and read.
The craftworlds were the puritan hippies who saw what was coming and prepared, and tried to change their ways to some extent.
It arguably did, but the thing is the warp is a weird place.
So because Slaneesh was born once, she was always around.
iirc the Drukhari where the worst of the worst during the empire days. and thus they spent 100% of the time in the webway
Yeah basically this
I know the warp isn't fully chaos. So maybe it was just small at the time instead of what we know as it is now.
when the Eye of Terror opened it was at the center of their Empire
also Wild Rider's retcon is like
super dumb
When "Chaos" properly appeared we don't know
a lot of fans ignore it since it makes no sense
Eldar and Orks were made to fight the necrons first and foremost
not chaos, at all
I'm trying to wrap my head around it ;-; like....hnnng
Wild Rider takes place during the downturn of the War in Heaven. Which wasn't really even one war, it took place over a long period of time.
Pro tip: Don't.
its literally just mentioned there and nowhere else
hell wasnt the realm of souls now called the warp a big source of power for the old ones?
Yeah it was
According to wild riders it would be when the seals were destroyed. So around the Fall most likely
I just wanna read about space elves man why Gav gotta do this Dx
That's what you get for wanting to read about Eldar
lol
Lmao this
Gav knows jack shit
even tho hes the only one that writes for eldar mainly
💀
I'm just gonna stick with chaos was always a thing, and ignore all of that...wild rider shit. Then continue on as normal.
Like sure it could have been a small influence whatever it's the warp
I mean Wild rider doesn't contradict that.
eldar lore is just black library's red headed step child it seems like
Wild Rider is just them meeting chaos properly for the first time and the mindfuck of Slaneesh already existing before she's born.
Its just a theory that the WiH caused Chaos to form anyways, we don't really know.
ngl the warp has enough time fuckery going on to drive doctor who mad
ye
Maybe Chaos hid from the Old Ones, maybe they didn't see it, maybe it came into being because the War in Heaven.
They can take the time to not make my brain die
no
No
Yes
sorry. fucking with people's brains is one of chaos' favorite pass times
But tbh, the point of the War in Heaven is to stay mostly mysterious with only a few details given.
hopefully forever
Only the Silent King knows what went down fully.
it literally happened before humans even existed at all
Every other Necron's memories have been tampered with in lots of ways.
I'm going back to the safety of the dark eldar novels
Yessss the dank elves have a perfect city to go vacation to. Trust me. It rocks
I'll probably stop with Asurman and Jain Zar on Eldar novels. man they did the Eldar dirty
Gav: the man that can retcon and re-retcon his on cannon.
btw, maybe random - anyone have a list of the beta planets that was avalible as origin? - and also possibly a short explenation of them if anyone would bother write? (know frankly embarisingly little about anything but cadia)
tbh we all do. all the other worlds in the beta where completely new and made just for darktide
oh, they were? couldent tell honestly lol
cadia was the only "big name" world in the list
I didn't choose Cadia. Agri world gang gang
only did cadia for Psyker, wanted the violet eyes on her xD
From farmer to purger of filth
y'all need oliensis
The eyes are cool. But farmer purges the best of weeds
farmer? purger? either way you're shoveling s**t 😂
Farm gang
ok, so all this are just unknowns then i guess? @plush mason
yes all written just for the game
Cadia more like Tanith sniff
by the legend himself Dan Abnett himself in fact
feels like we could need a full on big anthology book on darktide tbh.
do you know of the star wars "from a certain point of view"? @plush mason
algae farmer gang yeee
Farming makes you strong. So be farmer then hit harder ez
the only thing i can remember off the top of my head is that Crucis and Messelina Gloriana are 2 shrine worlds dedicated to a saint from the Moebian sector
and that i learned just from playing the beta
no but my star wars lore is limited
basicly, a bunch of small..novels i guess, in a single book
several stories from, well - another point of view
like the day of the Wampa on hoth,
also the family life of the taun-taun Han rode out on.
the Ugnaught that found the lightsaber hilt on cloud city
etc etc - kinda awsome way of telling cannon stories tbh
sounds neet
there is also a very sweet Aliens one, with one part being the creatíon of the pulse rifle and basicly the military trials for it...think it was called Aliens Bughunt...but not certain @plush mason
and yeah i would love for something like that to be made for darktide. the setting is ripe for all kinds of little stories like that

also, reminds me alot of the necronomicon book with like...i think it's 30 something of lovecrafts works? 🤔
atoma prime is a massive hive city home to 90 billion people. the stories that can be built for just the hive alone are numberless
i mean, could deffo do stories from each of the personalities or similar, and give them a certain premade background that gets explored @plush mason
That time Mrs Jenkins needed to go shopping and got ambushed by underhive gangsters
like, idk -
Carl the imperial guard veteran from the aquatic world, how he was saved by his sergant and later got sent to the inqusition for sediton ya-di-ya. xD
(dont remember that much from character creation lol)
the personalities already kind of do but as far as back story we the player make that with our choices in character creation
alot of banter yeah, but you can do a more "memorial" style i guess?
or "how i ended up here" kinda deal maybe
yeah but that would be very hard due to all the different players and what not
think that's why basicly a certain mix might work though tbh
i think from a narrative POV it would be better to focus on the NPCs for such stories
as it's not the story of kruber or kerrilian, just how X from Y ended up with Z and then tertium xD
truuue
...full on Hadron book, gimmie. xD
also, yeah - quite sure it's this one.
https://www.audible.com/pd/Aliens-Bug-Hunt-Audiobook/B07D2H7BN2?qid=1666746492&sr=1-1&ref=a_search_c3_lProduct_1_1&pf_rd_p=83218cca-c308-412f-bfcf-90198b687a2f&pf_rd_r=W9SN1AJ24M6GJ2YVTQ5G
loved the one that was told from the perspective of a hive-drone
yeah i feel that in games with full character customization its very important for the players to have as much narrative freedom as can be given to them for their characters in regards to back story for them
would be nice to get backstory on Marrow aswell, idk - he felt very symphatetic to our plight i think?? 🤔
If youre from a farming world then I think that's what triggers the voice lines that go "I could never live in a hive like this"
I assume
There must be alternative voice lines like "this sewer reminds me of home" for people from a hive I guess?
i'd love to see / know all kinds of diffrences the origin makes tbh
It might. Or an ocean world could do that though they have hives still i believe in the one in DT
what voicelines come from what etc
There's definitely a set of Cadia voicelines for the soldier characers
I worry the differences made create sort of dead zones in the code.
the cut throat
I think maybe the professional too?
I might e getting them confused
I know the cutthroat has a whole speech
nah the cut throat is the cadia
I think a lot ofthe characters have cadia specific lines
afaik all the other voice options are from Moebian
i only ever heard those from the cutthroat
but then i only picked cadia as the cutthroat vet so maybe your home world does effect the voicelines
im pretty sure it does
ok buddy but do or don´t lasguns have recoil tho?!?!!
Gonna recoil when I make it gas powered
I mean, I did both of those things at the same time.
Oh damn. You're saying you're a mother? Grats :D!
Though what part of 40k lore you discuss?
Whatever came up at the time. We are nerd family goals. All three of us have half built armies all over the place.
Goals to strive for
Unfortunately not the case; my char was a Professional from Cadia and a Cut-throat said to me 'You wouldn't have lasted a day on Cadia'
My character responded 'yeah? And where is Cadia now?', and after some back and forth my character said 'You'll come apart at the last second, just like Cadia.'
Definitely not how a Cadian would refer to his own homeworld to another...
@rapid bronze are you Russian?
Yes@rapid bronze

What if I told you that kazaks, uzbeks, Ukrainians, and many Slavic countries that aren't Russian have names like that
But no, I picked it because it sounded cool when I was 12
Did you guys was able to locate Atoma Prime, the Moebian Domain and the Margrave sub-sector on the Imperium stellar map?
I don’t know much about physics, but maybe they convert heat energy into mechanical or even gravitational energy to prevent over heating? Creating recoil?
Or the heat vents release so much it causes recoil?
Possibly, there are more reasons to believe that it would have recoil than not
Yeah I would feel weird if it doesn’t have recoil,
Now the real question is
Do grav guns have recoil?
It wouldn't have recoil in the regular sense. But it could have a certain pull, where shooting would tend to jerk the gun forward
Makes sense
Everything that shoots has recoil in some form
“Every action has an equal and opposite reaction”
Alot of modern firearms have such pronounced recoil because we use physical ammunition in cartridges
Those casings have to be ejected and so the blowback moves a charging handle, slide, or bolt which ejects it. This movement adds impact when being thrown back against your shoulder or hand
You can make weapons which have no recoil due to how they displace the force or so little that they might as well not have any which I think is the point being made.
There’s definitely guns with effectively no recoil.
True. But there is still force being thrown back and there is recoil. It’s just you’re able to displace it
Ok and we’re technically not actually touching the gun because our atoms are just hovering over one another barely
Like, it’s a moot distinction
Forgive me since this is probably a dumb question and my understanding of 40k lore is from like 2 universe summary videos -- if the emperor is still able to communicate psychically and they could be reborn if allowed to die, is there a reason they don't instruct their caregivers to cut off life support?
He can’t communicate that way for one
Basically if he dies the hell-portal hes keeping closed under the throne opens and destroys Terra
and Terra has the astronomicon among other things that helps the Imperial navy find their way in hte Milky Way galaxy using the warp
it would basically be catastrophic
The conversation he had with Guilliman he could barely pay attention to him
Because someone thought it would be a good idea to use warp powers to talk to terra even after being told not to
Cough cough. Magnus
Yeah its like his dad should have told him about it or something
At best he gives Custodes dreams but it’s not often a clear statement

And it’s not common
Big E was a shitty parent
Magnus was also a dipshit tbh
A lot could have been avoided if he just sat down and talked to his kids
“Oh wow some random entity in this evil dimension is offering me an absurd amount of power, better snag that”
But I do see his logic in not telling them about the webway
It is a risk telling his sons
Doesn’t his also give something to the black templars. Or are they just fanatical crackheads who think he is
There’s definitely something that goes on with the Emperor’s Champion
There’s a few different things though
Ok. Is the hell portal from the dude barging in while he was working on the webway?
Yeah
Basically
He learned of Horus’s betrayal and wanted to tell him
So he threw his soul across the galaxy, but he couldn’t pierce a ward around Terra
I believe terra had some psychic barrier and magnus did the equivalent of taking shotgun to the generator
Specifically where Big E was at
And then some “mysterious entity” offered him a shitload of power to pierce it
Which like a genius he did
So a bunch of daemons burst in because it breaks and now Big E has to sit on the throne to hold them off
It has artificial recoil. The purpose for this is that when a gaurdsman shoots into a crowd if it didn't each shot would hit the same spot over and over minimizing effectiveness. by having a slight built in artificial recoil the gaurdsman can't hit 100% same spot thus ensuring that damage is distributed optimatly.
source: my ass
And daily psyker sacrifices to keep it going right?
Yeah a lot of them
but the Throne is currently failing atm
but wont blow up because we need to sell toys
Lol
Right because he's also serving as a giant lighthouse basically?
Essentially
It’s in limbo until it isn’t but it is but also it isn’t
DORN DORN DORN DORN DORN DORN
Navigating the warp is like driving a boat through dense fog
Without a lighthouse you’ll run aground and get eaten by daemons
they HAVE to bring back dorn with what was set up, there’s no way it’s not going to be dorn as the next primarch I will be MAD if it’s the Lion
I dont want another Primarch
they can fuck off to the Horus Heresy where they belong and hog all the spotlight

How bout a daemon one ?
Bring back Big E
but the sales
I want more primarchs just because it triggers people I won’t lie
💀

A big E mini would sell like gold
Can't wait to kill the Emperor with 10 leman russes
It’s likely we’re getting a Hersey Big E model
Kill the emperor with 20 guardsmen
There’s rules for him I believe or going to be, and the Horus ascendant model is perfectly setup for a diorama
As god intended.
Plus didn’t they like ||kill the leader of the adeptus mechanicus & the drukhari over negotiations for the golden throne parts?||
He is 100% getting a mini for HH
Nah not the leader
its literally some random high ranking techpriest
Just a dingbat who set it up
Oh
it was basically their own little plot that went nowhere
I thought the leader of the adeptus mechanicus was dead not some rando
Hes not dead
Some geniuses who thought that trusting the Drukhari with the future of the imperium would be a good plan
and it wasnt the Fabricator General that met with the druks
again it was just some high-ranking admech person
The Fabricator General is referenced in more recent books
Yeah he is
no dorn
Regent’s Shadow for example
And they’re done by the same author
As it is now it seems based off leaks and the like that the Lion or Russ are gonna come back next for loyalist primarchs. But who knows when that is.
Considering that vehicles named after Space Marine primarchs are just a thing now, how long until we see rough riders on Jaghatai Khan mobile horses?
Like, actual horse robots
Never because GW doesn't care about White Scars
Why do you remind me of sad things?
Well shit. Still dunno how to feel about primarch-named vehicles being a thing now cuz the Leman Russ just seemed like a one-off
We'll probably get the Roubute Guilliman transport vehicle or something like that. Or a Sanguinius fighter craft
Guilliman's Ghillie Guerilla Gunship
Why just vehicles, let's have a line of torture devices named after Lion El'Jonson
Or types of cement and building materials after Rogal Dorn.
The Rogal Dorn Memorial Hospital
ROGALIUM STEEL
We already have the Royal Dorn heavy support tank
Ferrus Mannus artillery battery, maybe?
Tbh Im surprised there already isn't a Guilliman vehicle. But I guess his thing is Primaris marines
Actually, I think a combat walker named after the Iron Hands' primarch would be more fitting.
Never because GW doesn't care about Iron Hands

An Iron Hands vehicle would just be a massive body horror servitor monster
Is it because the Iron Hands would canonically not care about the upgrading of organic components with more organics?
no its because nobody remembers the Iron Hands
they are one of the biggest footnote loyalist Chapters
Two words: Emperor's Shadows
An Iron Hands successor chapter that GW didn't write any lore about. At all.
Isn’t the emperors shadow from someone’s kit bashes they submitted To white dwarf?
It was actually done by Games Workshop staff
IMO, the Centurions were a missed opportunity to actually write the Shadows into lore. Japan-themed SM chapter going to battle with mecha seems fitting for them
Inb4 their biggest rival is a Speed Freek mekboss named "Da Red Kommit"
like maybe told him "cool it with the warp powers, I got a plan and you stay put"?
