The fear within me is stronger than anything your soul can muster, you cannot kill me in a way that matters
melts all your minis how about that?
So what do you think will happen over the years with Emps?
Will the God-Emperor-in-the-Warp be a different entity than the Emperor?
Will they be one and the same but irrevocably changed from the one we knew in HH?
Is any development even being made or are we back to decades-long progression hiatus?
They die and come back as a woman to fight necron horus
Who is now also black
Yes horus is black now
something something racism

(that is the joke)
so how powerful is house esher politically or is it never really explained?
Pretty much powerful as most of the Major Houses™️ in Necromunda
they also run 90% of the stimm/medical/drug trade in the planet
so you want meds you dont piss them off
Pretty much
They also got a lot of muscle/firepower too but they are usually business first for the most part
iirc a video i watched a while back said the hive cities(y) of necromunda are more or less just darwinistic hellscapes where only the strong survive
ofc it seems there is 2 versions of necromunda's lore. one where the world is necromunda and one where necromunda is just a hive city on the world
thanks
Yeah it can get confusing all good
that was confusing the fuck out of me for ages
Happy to help
But for the previous statement yeah the hive city itself is hellish, a lot of the public announcements at the beginning of the rulebooks really sell the morbidly funny vibe of the whole affair
🥩
pulpy
lmao
"you know why they say us orlocs are made of iron?" my hired gun- "cause your as brittle as cheap pig iron"
ministorum technically
i wonder what happens to tax dodgers in the imperium lol
death

Warhammer 40k is full of strange and obscure monsters that rarely get focused on. and hey, that makes sense. its a massive universe and attention tends to get put on the big players. but lets dive into some old rule books and obscure lore so...
im sorry. what
Default Mk.7 Helmets are the ones with the angry face.
Stewart little in 40k?
yeah this Orn sounds like a true hell hole
My two favourite chapters of Space Marines:
Red Scorpions (because 2nd legion vibes) and Marines Malevolent (because "Dying guardsman? You will have my scorn")
It's like they all decided to make this planet a cynical misanthropical comedy TV show.
Don't they just get their planet invaded and subjugated (again)?
Administratum, to be precise the Departmento Exacta
Generally Imperial taxes are levied on whole worlds rather than individual citizens. It's up to each world to maintain their quota or face a whole variety of horrible results
In the novel Shadowsword a world is invaded because they refused to keep producing more conscripts for the Imperial Guard
Multiple super heavy armour units, entire regiments of guard and a Black Templars strike force are all deployed to put the offending world back in line
They take their various taxes very seriously
the Astartes are used in the in only the most dangerous of warzones
however that planet isn’t paying their fukin taxes, send the Black templars lol
if that planet is crucial to a nearby big Crusade, then yeah hell yeah it´ll be Ben Dover by the Black Templars
It’s the Black Templars, of course it’s a crusade
They literally don’t do anything else
Like damn dude chill
You have no penis. You look like a Ken doll on cow steroids.
You don´t want to chill.
I’m pretty sure that woman’s head you caved in wasn’t a cultist, pretty sure she was just asking for help to find her baby
She is weak and deserves death.
- The Black Templar, probably
Living is unacceptable
-Also probably the Black Templars
And Now a Avatar of Khaine Pls in Darktide :>
Avatar of khaine getting bodied by 4 schlubs from a penal regiment is entirely something i could see GW write
Poor Khaine. I legit feel bad for the guy.
God of War split into parts which are still supposed to be terrifyingly powerful only to be beaten by Blueberry Sergeant №4
yes
the avatar of khaine really only exists to so how powerful insert random imperium character name here is
Hey, does anyone know any youtube video series covering 40k events similar to or from Arch? I really loved his siege of vraks, and war for Badab series, but besides the war for armageddon which is his shortest, I cant find much else
Luetin is best boy but I dunno if he's like Arch
What his style is from the little I've seen is more serious
I can't sit and watch stuff like that hahaha
I'm really trying to watch SOME parts of his 2 hour Darktide deep dive video rn
Good one but I tune out the voices at some point
Otherwsie was thinking of 40k audiobooks or something
Janoviches vraks got that quality with none of the cringe

[ Description ]
Greetings and Salutations friends, and welcome back to Vraks. This new series we will be covering Warh...
Ehhh I already watched vraks
Also got that good animation
Larping as a cadian
I ahve one question
why do we have some psyker-librarian-looking-guy down in the penal ships
will that be a class?
Don´t they just get wiped out if they´re not found to be 100% true to Emps?
He's sad
So he decided to go the Slayer route and die in combat to atone for his sins?
No he's just bummed out
More psykers than can be processed, might as well use them as labor
The follow up to 'WAKING DREAD' - see what happens when an Astartes Dreadnought crashes down on a heretic battalion... Modelled, animated and textured by me. All in Blender. (It gets better every release)
This was a long time coming. Hope you all enjoy the show! even if it is 1 minute 30 seconds long. I feel it packs a punch.
If you would li...
But the thing is that they´re not trusted enough to be left alive as far as I remember from lore tidbits
He spun that man like a washing machine
Psykers are an extremely powerful resource, they don't usually just kill them offhand unless they have for certain fallen to chaos
Theres a lore reason but thats still nda
Ugh such a bother.
Also extremely dangerous
God I remember there was this guy in one of Gaunt´s books
he´s found to be a psyker even tho he doesn´t even know? Completely true to Imperium?
Becomes either a prisoner or a power source or gets utilized in some way from a cell without arms and legs or ability to move or do anything physically.
He´s still basically completely disabled and ¨eliminated¨.
Sometimes, GW gives whomever is making a thing a blank check to make up new lore
Yaeh no I get it it´s a big galaxy but Jesus
@plush mason this is the same height was a warlord titan, its big but it'd look a bit funny to see a titan that small
warlord should be like 60m minimum if you ask me but thats just my personal opinion
same
they went overboard with the downscaling imo and they are now smaller than most of the buildings you will find in a modern city
I mean after a certain point theres no benefits to size on weapons platforms
i know
my point is. in 40k humans build cities and buildings that are over a mile in height so the titans are just comically small in their own universe
so anyone that lived on a hive world would be laughing at the titans due to their size
yeah thats respectable ofc
INCAN

lmao

but yeah jokes aside even in official art the largest Imperators can be dwarfed by buildings
its more that when this thing stares and targets at you that you realise the threat it poses
yeah personally i always thought the big draw of titans was that they had guns that belonged on 40k space ships made to fit onto land "vehicles"
Yeeee
they need to be big but not tooooo big
Its like an RPG
Its just a tube with an exploding end
but it makes big boom boom

especially since the emperor class is meant to have a cathedral on top 😂
if there isnt some priest shouting sermons into a megaphone at the front of said cathedral then whats the point of it?
There’s lots of points to it, gothic architecture fucking love spires
spires ☺️
like isnt the cathedral used as like a forward command base/fort for other forces to fire from?
basically like rook from demigod
Maybe in the grim darkness of the 41st millenium, people are really small.
Cool and all imperium but what practical purpose does this provide, it’s so big has like 3 uses tops
Lmao yeah dont question it
Reminds me of the uh, oppressionizer from futurama and it was a giant crab where a bunch of aristocrats sitting atop of it laugh at people being crushed
show off the power and might of the imperium ofc
that honestly describes most of the imperium perfectly lol
mecha was big in the 80s and the writers were all anime dweebs
people really just need to realise how big even the "canon" size for titans is for a moving church platform
yeah im glad these two HH book covers exist for that reason
even in those they are still dwarfed by buildings and such which is pretty good
Burden of Loyalty was my wallpaper for the longest of times
it's a great pic
it will be the probably reason why I'll paint my titans in Legio Ignatum colours once I get one
What is the difference between a Titan and a knight?
Size
What’s the size difference between the biggest night and the smallest titan?
knights are pretty small
Knights also have a crew of one. The Knight-Pilot
a warhound is 50 feet where as a knight is 30 to 40 foot
Most Titans have a crew of multiple
what the fuck is a feet
Those things on the end of your legs
a warhound is 15 meters
@storm jungle the nerds need the titan height chart again, you should almost pin it now that you can
and a knight is 9 meters
Oh yeah i should
Also a knight is the height of like
a UK telephone pole
well no. a lot of telephone poles are 30 feet
Or claws sparking with electricity
yeah 30 foot or 9 meters
no way Sigilite is that tall smh
6'2?
what does that mean
6 feet 2 inches
Knights may be smaller than other Titans but they're still big bastards
Reminder that a Halo Hunter also dwarfs Big E which still baffles me
then I remember how fucking big they are in cannon which is
depends on the game
Yeah, you rarely see their full height since they hunch alot
Yeee
also Master Chief is pretty tall too
I never knew Grunts were like the size of regular humans beforehand
yeah halo spartans are massive
yeah chief actually was one of the smaller spartan 2s iirc
he's like 2 and a quarter meters or so, probably less
with dudes like gorge coming in at around 9 feet lol
Sorry, Spartan IIs were 8 Feet
but ofc that fits with the whole dynamic bungie wanted for master chief which was that he was just kinda normal
tiny man
yeah
chief is 2.1 meters out side his armor
ok a marauder is a small mech
how is the average scout marine the same height as the average normal marine in armor
what's a marauder
the armor doesn't add any height?
Eh not really
a heavy infantry unit from star craft 2
I see
so think a max from planet side 2
one thing i don't like about 40k space marine (the game) is the bolter feels like kind of a spammy SMG/assault rifle type gun
The only difference between a Marne scout and Astartes is they dont have the black carapace to connect to power armor yet seeing as they haven't earned them at this point
I liked how the bolters in dow2 felt slower firing and powerful
well ye, thats what it is
i mean. SM1 had the melta work as a shotgun so lol
Getting some conflicting info from the interwebs
when in most lore a meltagun is just a spicy blowtorch
It's like a Hair dryer that blasts the heat of the sun at you
ye
arent those like super revered relics only given to the inquisition's most trusted members or is my lore wrong on that
Inferno is what i was thinking of
yeah the space marine game had the meltagun more like a shotgun and less like a beam
iirc
Hellfire is an Astartes Bolt Pistol
You are correct Nameless
But is a vidya gaem so anything is theoretically possible
But they are available to members of Ordo Hereticus
which is probably the one our Inquisitor belongs to
It would definitely be like your last unlock
yeah
the easiest answer as to why the melta acted as a shotgun in SM1 is for gameplay variance. Besides you need to take in account at when SM1 was released when just about every 3rd person shooter had to have a shotgun
One of my favorite weapons in there is the Lascannon
yeah but. space marines already have a shotgun lol
and its literally just a SM sized version of the arbites one
Yeah well they wanted to have a thermal shotgun okay
k
It's game dev logic, it doesn't have to make sense
true
no
Chaos created itself
I think the SM1 Melta was 1) Having a normal shotgun for Space Marines wasn't really a thing that got brought up 2) Melta is one of the more iconic tabletop weapons and 3) they didn't really have a niche for it otherwise. You don't really fight anything that's highly armored in SM.
chaos always has been
It was made by the collective emotions of every living thing since the dawn of time
That aggregated into daemons
then the Chaos Gods
Simulacra are a race of shapeshifters that gain memories by eating brains
The Omnissiah is a different entity to the Machine God. It's Herald and some of the AdMech believe that the Emperor is the Omnissiah
A lot of people don't actually know about that or make that distinction
The Machine God is theorized to be the Void Dragon, a C'tan that sleeps deep within Mars
no
The Void Dragon is somewhat Obscure lore
void dragon has a model now
neat
oh shit really?
GW is bringing it back to the forefront?
I was expecting something more dragon-y but then again Void Dragon is a human name for an essentially ageless BILLIONS of years old entity that was given form by the Necron millions of years ago
idk, im not a fan of new necron lore so havent kept track
That's a cool model though
I wasn't a fan of new necron lore at first myself but it grew on me
I didn't know we were talking about Luna Wolves
Yeah?
like who was even living on the moon at that time?
Horus became convinced that only he could save the Imperium and that he had to usurp his father to do so
Unfortunately Chaos is a bitch and he did become corrupted along the way
What's funny though is that what convinced him that only he could save the Imperium was a vision of what would happen if he DID go through with it - but he didn't know that.
Again, Chaos is a bitch.
It's all lies and manipulation with them
yep
Yeah, that.
I don't have a source on hand for everything
What do you mean oh god? YOU ASKED FOR A SOURCE
NOW I am getting upset
If you ask for a source don't complain when you get it okay
And the primary souce cited on the wiki is the novel False Gods, by Graham McNeill.
If you're curious.
i mean. wasnt erebus the one that planted that idea in his head while he was dying from that nurgle sword wound?
Yeah in a vision he had when he was dying
I still don't know what you're talking about but I'm glad you could at least learn something
The Great Blue Bastard
nah it was Erebus afaik ofc he may have been working with Tzeentch at the time to achieve it
If you were a little more clear in asking questions we probably could have reached this point three hours ago, but whatever.
Yeah we know
However do note that Tzeentch isn't the ONLY one of the chaos gods to engage in plotting, false promises, and bullshitting people.
He's just the most known for it
And a shitty bastard. Though if you take it literally and not metaphorically then it would be Nurgle.
slaanesh has never lied
lmao
Khorne the least probably
yeah khorne rarely lies
If there is a chaos god that has never lied it would probably be Khorne
he just wants to beat your face in
yeah
He's whole schtick is that he doesn't care if it's you bleeding or your enemy and he doesn't hide it
He's still fickle
If you don't spill blood in a way he approves, he'll abandon you
Oh yeah but that could be considered breaking the deal on your part. By whatever standards Khorne has.
I suppose
You'll have to get used to us chattering on into tangents, blitz
It happens alot
if u mean corrupting horus, it was all 4
he was technically their chosen follower, kinda
(sleep failed, back temporarily)
The Champion of Chaos Undivided
My favorite bit of lore of khorne is that the more and more you kill in his name the less and less humanity you have and the more of a machine you become.
But that’s kinda redundant as if you murder people for fun it doesn’t really matter
Khorne has no use for mercy, compassion, or any other emotion but rage and bloodlust
the losing your humanity part is kinda sophistic, you're just embracing a difference existance
dedicating yourself to the cause of being a huge slicey fiend
Humans usually aren't a huge slicey fiend
If you want the lore on how it started, the first 3 horus heresy books cover that in depth
some are
Kharn does being up a good point that there’s a point of where you don’t even remember what the feel is or why you kill. Rarely ever is there a battle he actually remembers
idk
would you call mechanicus less human, or more human
Less human
less human, wouldnt want to offend them
and youd be wrong
mechanicus is a faction
Humans who devote themselves to worshipping tech as divine
because peope dont know how it works anymore
We have all prayed for something to just work
machines work better if you're nice to them, its science
Alot of knowledge was lost during the Age of Strife
all engineers know this.
no, a set of galaxy wide cataclysms meant a lot of the information was lost
Take a maintenance manual, now make that holy script
You could call them more THAN human, as in qualitatively superior to human, but I would absolutely not refer to them as more human
basically its the equivilant of giving someone a spitfire and expecting them to know how to maintain it
no, why?
They can repair but they do not understand why each and every parts importance only that it is required
They do try to learn
The downside of STC's
Okay how about you just read what IS there and go from there instead of trying to fit whatever square peg you're thinking of into a round hole you think is there.
It's alot of reverse engineering
this killed me lmao
It sounds like you're trying to come up with something while doing the BAREST MINIMUM research
how does scp 42069 fit into warhammer lore
wat
What raccoon thing
Don't confuse the poor kid, Alcy
wat

I know nothing about SCP except that people keep lewding the skull wolf thing
scp is just bad creepy pasta stuff
good
yeah most of it is
I'll stick to barely knowing about wolf tiddies...can't believe I just typed that...
why did you type that
It sounded funnier in my head
lol
Horus liked to take power naps on a warp fueled lazy boy
For AdMech
Deus Ex Machina is a pretty good descriptor for them
Not the literary tool mind you, but the literal translation
God in the Machine
They believe that repairing and maintaining machinery is a holy act so their devotion is religious and not so much mysticism that arcana implies
Techno-theocratic would probably be more appropriate
Yes
The Men of Iron
Robot rebellion
AI are considered heretical
Referred to as Abominable Intelligences
its basically the dune butlerian jihad plot
sooo much of 40k is stolen from dune lol
it's like 30% dune, 30% 2000ad, 30% other
did you not read what people said before, chaos has always existed through the emotions and souls of the living
?
This is established lore
are you ok
What are you, a tau?
Of course it exists
The eldar have fought the forces of Chaos since before humans rubbed two sticks together to create fire
What are you going on about
🥴 are you insinuating we believe this lore is truth
Okay now you're trolling
honestly its a good effort if anything
God I wish Skeledad were here to read this
if this isnt trolling you should probably get on some lithium
sir this is a video game lore channel
Like an unfinished door
did anyone ever answer my question about the moon?
skaven did it
lmao
🐀
no i mean. who was living on the moon before the emperor sent those 3 legions to take it
People
probably just rando human colonists
lmao
There were colonies on the moon
Moon techno barbarians, probably
They lost contact with Earth when everything dark in the Age of Strife
If they needed space marines to deal with them
lord the solar system had to be one weird place during that whole technobarbarian age
I wish warhammer had lore that wasnt redbubble or figs
Had to be re-subjugated
I want a foam powersword
A power foamsword
Like robots do ya?
Ok now you just sound like a schizo again
return to frog
Return of Ganon
please stop engaging the adhd riddled child
so a nightmare image just popped into my head randomly and now all of you must share in my suffering. a Roboute Guilliman body pillow
ciaphus cain body pillow
Not even in my top ten
celestine body pillow tho
Nurgle body pillow
lords what have i done
Did you just quote 300?
Is that what it is? I just assumed it was a 40k quote
least mentally broken 40k fan
Not me
Even in Death, I Still Serve
Even in death, you got served
Yeah that one
even in dept, i still serve
He's gone off the deep end
oh god
Okay if you have trouble distinguishing fiction and reality, seek professional help. That's all I'll say about that.
its like watching louis wain in real time
this is why children need to be supervised online
lol
Do you mean a simulation?
You use the word simulacra like Francis E. Dec used the word frankenstein
That is not a flattering comparison
mans just on another level
Honest answer? Because I'm used to dealing with this shit and I have better communication skills than you.
The thing is, I can read between the lines and I can tell you can talk more or less like a normal person. You just keep saying this insane shit.
its the internet headass
If I ever talked like you for more than a minute I'd want to curbstomp myself with my head up my ass.
I don't even know how that works
i do that ironically tho
Not right now, but a couple of hours ago you were talking like an abuse victim with a lobotomy.
Short, terse, incomprehensible, and unresponsive.
See, you CAN be funny
Yeah you're so good you can maybe catch me off guard at 3AM after I've been up all night
No I'm going to bed actually
I didn't even notice this was still the lore channel or I would have stopped a while ago
"sir, this is a Wendys" Immediately comes to mind
He is dead
a belated purging
get you some precog mods
whomst got the purging
blitzkrieg
Damn, they were here too... And still no messages remained

Ah I see Mr. Chaos is a lie tech boys are scheeming is gone
well. cant say i didnt see this coming lol
not that kind of krieg
also. i want to know what the actual fuck the colonists of krieg where smoking when they chose to name their new home "war"
namely due to the fact that for all intense and purposes krieg was a peaceful and profitable world
"a hive world that was almost a paradise world" is how it was described iirc
they probably dont know the origin of the word
or it has a new meaning
its been 38000 years after all
likely true
hueyhueyhuey shubel
I find it funny that the blood angels homeworld is called Baal
Who can also be interpreted as beelzebub
Who is the demon lord of flies
||(Also cute sharply dressed demon GF if you play helltaker)||
I imagine some of GW's names are a coincidence just because it sounds cool, I don't think that one's a coincidence
The inquisition would go ape shit if they found out that they named a planet after a demon
That’s an understatement
But it would also be funny if Baal was a real demon, and one of his homies said “yo, we gonna attack this space marine homeworld you in? It’s called Baal-“ and he just dies
hhe kinda does exist ish
you run into a daemon in eisenhorn called ||Cherubael||
hard not to see where the inspiration comes from
Oh so the size of a hive tyrant?
so was it the dark elves or the chaos dwarves that "made" the black orcs in fantasy?
Chaos Dwarfs
thanks
Who also goes by Bael
I know you need to be around 11 for surgeries and stuff to properly work, but is there any way a 20 something could become a space marine?
think so, at least when the primarchs were found their local warriors and such were space marinefied at an adult age
some were too old though
Kor Phaeron is an example of someone who joined the legions but couldn't undergo surgery because of his age
He was modified and enhanced but nothing compared to an actual space marine
to note this was all done when the emperor who developed the whole procedure was still alive and present, as opposed to current era which is generations removed from it
exempting the cawl ex machina shenanigans thats been going on in past eds
Probably because they're a newly founded chapter that started with primaris and therefore do not have any firstborn within their ranks
Ultima Founding, meaning they were formed when Robute returned
They fought during the Plague Wars so if you find any books about that they might be in it
Indeed
They have a page in both the revised 8th Edition codex and in the 9th Edition one
Iron Hands/Imperial Fists mixture, I´m guessing
Haahah I swear at one point they all just blend in together, descriptions and all
Melta probably has the most destructive power although it isn't a round it fires but a heat beam of sorts I guess
Melta most likely its safe but harder to use as its pretty low range
Watching the WH+ Votann loremasters part 1 video, pretty interesting
mentioned a larger necron conflict one subfaction has had
Shoutout to the Moses Dwarf on the back
he seems like a cool dude
they're not spiritual nor do they have a religion but the Votann (the big robot heads) are the closest thing to a higher being to worship and they keep the information about them pretty darn private
but they do have souls although well "shielded"
and chaos warp influence isn't unheard of
but rare
yeah exactly, plasma are more powerful but unstable and more rare
Also higher ROT
In space marine was it just not something the writers thought of or was there an actual reason the Titan and it’s crew followed Titus’ orders? The titans work for the mechanicus and don’t do what space marines say. Did he simply reason with them so it was their decision? Destroying the spire was considered heresy.
The spire was literally keeping a giant daemonic portal open for more chaos forces to pass through
was either the spire or the planet
True but when he told them to destroy it they did object
You know how unreasonable the mechanicus can be
I mean they can literally see its a massive demon portal
I'm pretty sure that operator got a lot of shit for destroying the spire
They still complied knowing what would happen otherwise
So doesn’t really matter
Then again princeps are so obscenely rare they can probably get away with murder with little more than a chewing out.
They are considered more valuable than the titans they command.
heresy
There’s what 1 in 1,000,000 people capable of merging with a Titan?
Might be 10,000,000
I guess that nothing too harsh happened to him
He may have been put in the amniotic tank as punishment. Provided they weren’t already in one.
shipped to atoma prime
It would’ve made more sense if it was the mechanicus branding Titus as a heretic then it was for the space marines. He committed far more tech related heresy than codex defiance.
So perhaps it was a combination of the two pushing for it
When Titus is being called a heretic it’s easier to give the extremely valuable princep more leeway.
Titus in darktide
Unfortunately space marine isn’t cannon because he was actually a Chad ultra marine. Something that is mutually exclusive.
Orbital spires can be rebuilt
A forge-world cannot
so yeah hes fine
dont overthink it
Oh right.
STRATEGIC VALUE ABSOLUTE!
I forgot
That was such a great opening
Basically meant the planets value was essential to the imperium’s survival.
eh i dont think it was much of a great opening
it pretty much just raw dogged the player into the lore with 0 context of what anything means
i think it went past most players heads who didnt know about 40k already
Its a pretty great opening either way
doesnt really matter if you know 40k or not, it tells you mostly all you need to really know
I knew basically no lore when I first played it and it made enough sense to me. That was the game that made me look up the lore. Before that I only knew bits and pieces from people playing 40k at the other tables while we played fantasy.
Spehss Mehreen was a good game 🙂
Okay so I´m wondering, what´s gonna happen
Is the God-Emperor different than the actual Emps? Is that storyline gonna get explored?
Is the universe going to ¨freeze¨ again until the end of recorded history again so the status quo is set for the tabletop to work?
Are they gonna get books out then re-release them 2 years later and tell you ¨yeah buddy sorry but you gotta rebuy to read the total of 4-5 pages of different content¨ a la Plague Wars and iirc Siege of Baal? (I don´t know if it´s really so little as some basic changes and I ain´t reading them to find out)
I´m especially butthurt about that and regret buying the books like a schmuck.
God Emperor and the Emperor has been a vague topic left to the individual from my views of the lore to decide. Honestly... I don't know if I want a definite answer to that question.
As for the setting; expect no great losses for any one side, if anything expect the more power chaos builds will equate to the Imperium gaining more power to defend against it, this is why people believe more loyalist primarch will return (my money is on the Khan and the Lion first of all, and russ will be the last to ever come back), any power gained for Xenos factions will be due to the fact they need to seem relevant compared to the Imperium and Chaos factions growth.
Mostly this
the plot aint moving because we gotta sell toys
that all this whole plot and lore exists for at the end of the day
So same thing as like at least a year ago. Gotcha.
Yep
I´m fairly certain a lot of revenue comes from Black Library sales
Thats sadly not the case
Hence why I said seem
a lot of the authors have said the books make nowhere enough sales like the minis do
💀
oof
since novels for the most part are like an appetiser, they are fronts to make you hype and go buy minis
Well the Tau can kill Titans now using their most basic vehicles and some MacGyvering, so that doesn´t seem quite fair.
Other than ¨just stop sending titans¨
so they are the gateways to the plastic crack addiction
Yes.
A book can cost maybe 30 bucks a tank can cost you about 90.
The Tau are also nowhere near as massive of a galactic entity that the Imperium is.
The Imperium can just keep sending more shit in until the Tau are buried or burned out. But that is never going to happen.
It makes no sense to kill the Tau off.
The Tau will eventually become a BIG fucking problem for everyone involved. The speed in which they are upgrading and developing is insane.
I mean if they get really focused by any of the larger powers they are done for
That and overpriced competitive book updates
Since minis + rulebooks make the most bucks for GW
Which is why their app isnt free , you still have to pay your codex to have access for your army and the app is overpriced
Physical rulebooks have basically been made obsolete by gws own strategy of constant balance changes, FAQs, points changes and secondaries
A few months after it comes out you can't trust a rulebook to be accurate
At this point they should leave blank spaces in the books for players to write in with pen any changes as they happen
Annual revenue reports say otherwise
Minis make the most money
royalties are in second
BL is in last
This is actually a nice idea, too bad that GW would find a way to screw it up more than we can even imagine
I mean that's the point, so if you play competitive you have to buy the new rule balance or Armoury book every month or so
^
They want them to be obsolete
So that you keep buying them
That's why codices exist
Okay then I'm wrong 😭
Too bad that the universe is stuck in time for forever always
Precisely
I mean now its a bit iffy since the lore now says that the Tau's biggest technological advances like Ion and Rail weapons was a technology they acquired by trading with the LoV

I mean, ion was always a tech they got via trade, and rail was always a tech they developed after retro engineering imperial ceramic plating, nothing new there
Kind of gives them less merit sadly
Which they never had regarding those two tech
Now, the pulse rifle is something they actually developed
Rail Weaponry first appeared in widespread Fire Caste use sometime during the First Sphere of Expansion. Early Tau rail weapons required substantial shielding in order to avoid flooding their Hammerhead and Battlesuit pilots with radiation. These shields were inevitable formed from super-dense metal alloys and contributed greatly to the size of the weapon. Progress on fixing this flaw was slow for many years as the Earth Caste tried to improve the design and create an infantry-portable weapon. The breakthrough finally came during the Second Sphere of Expansion when the Tau reverse-engineered Imperial ceramic shielding technology
Good
We move it forward too far and we get into territory where fanboys start freaking out and expecting emprah to return and just kick ass and take names
And getting upset when this does not occur
Already happening btw
But that´s the whole shtick of it, eh?
Is Emprah the same as God-Emprah-In-Da-Worp
We know not
I mean, look at everything, we had Order Demons popping up on Vraks like it´s Candlemas morning
But some people would certainly like to see 40k become significantly worse
This should be a foreboding sign that something is happening
I meant like
Fanboys getting upset
Well they can suck on nuts; not the healthy kind
Best outcome is the emperor returns and is immediately BTFO'd by Ghaz since Horus isnt there to save him
Just fucking piledrived
Oh my god, Its Thrakka with the steel chair!
Ghaz got killed by Primaris Sgt number 1237281973
And then was like ¨BUT AKTUGHUASDLY IM ALIVE¨
Wait sauce
I don't remember this happening during the siege of vraks
They´re risking Ghaz becoming the other Avatar of Kain
Everything is an avatar of khaine nowadays
I also remember there being OFFICIAL art about this. Could be very well wrong.
Yellow angel-like being or some shit.
I got no sauce ready I just read it somewhere like over a year ago
Huh could be fanart because lorewise the siege of vraks ended before the 13th black crusade
Ah that´s right, Khaine.
Kain is the Legacy of Kain vampire; cool dude.
Like vraks is just an abandoned dead world in the modern 40k timeline
That's the point of the battle
Imperium spent 14 years to win back an armory world. War expended the armory. Entire conflict was pointless and only made chaos stronger
Still inspired by the actual stuff; legit look for this and let me know cause now I´m also intrigued cause I thought it was common knowledge
Also please understand that by Order Demons I mean apparitions brought forth by God-Emps
idk maybe ur thinking of the macharius art
Where macharius is depicted as an angel (he wasn't) but that's not siege of vraks
Nononoono
It was specifically Vraks mateiral
guh
GOD WHAT
Okay!
@vapid tiger Im mistaken and probably thinking of
One recorded instance of this is the Miracle of the Saint’s Wall on the besieged world of Benediction, in which a golden procession of spirits and light held back the onrushing tide of Chaos.
Other incidents included manifestations of golden eagles and other phenomena, described as something new and not before seen. While the Emperor has always seen fit to grace His subjects with miracles (or it may be that the acts of rogue Psykers have been mistaken for miracles), these new incidents seem to be of a different breed.
Apparently the revised Plague Wars and Siege of Baal novels hint at Emps stirring
https://www.belloflostsouls.net/2021/01/warhammer-40k-the-emperor-awakens.html
I think of it as escalating rather than just more obvious
But that's the thing - is it GOING somewhere or is it just hype and a plot device to level up Imperium so that Chaos doesn't realistically wipe its ass with it
I do personally believe we'd be better off with a sort of 40k reset that made it a more modernized form of the original rogue trader since that preserves everything most people actually like about 40k while getting rid of the uh
more questionable things that have developed
I think the literal God-Emperor thing works way better in fantasy since sigmar is actually cool whereas the emperor has always been kind of pathetic in my mind
But that's just my opinion
The Emperor as an idea would´ve worked if he wasn´t written by a simple human, and y´know, a super-duper shmort godlike being.
Like the whole "emperor protects" thing I never viewed as badass and moreso as psychotic and dystopian
Like when the orks in the space marine game are bearing down on Gaia and there's audio logs of people dying while the intercom is just like "ah yes the emperor protects praise him keep working"
But it's nowadays like "oh yeah the emperor is cool and badass he really does protect wow wee"
It's like the dark humor was taken at face value by somebody and that somebody started working at gw
Like poe's law but 40k
But that´s the point, that it´s psychotic and dystopian.
Well I mean like
The emperor failed
He ate shit and died and got interred in the vegetable machine of life that requires a thousand sacrifices per day to keep running to keep the warp lighthouse running
His vision ended up becoming a dystopian nightmare and there's a lot of dramatic irony there even in a setting as pulpy as 40k
It's pulpy and grim and dark
And kind of funny
Emps failed because the Real Gods willed him to fail.
For the sake of tragedy and grimdarkness.
But "oh yeah the emperor IS actually a god and he can somehow salvage this mess" doesn't scream "grim and dark" it screams
Heroic fantasy in space
Which is not 40k
It's just not
It originally was but nowadays it seems that the writers disagree on that
Possibly for marketing purposes who knows
Im just bothered that even normal humans find his shit stupid, when he´s supposed to be a human times a thousand
the only way anything interesting comes out of the setting is if emp dies or resurrects as a totally mortal person
Yes but actually no
To make it tragic the emperor needs to be tragically flawed and that needs to be the main reason
Could be that you´re right
Which it is
I agree that this is the only solution now
Someone legit recommended "khorne should manifest and slice terra in half" and I'm like
Yeah
That would fit 40k, just undo all the progress guilliman has made, bamboozle the audience
Or have the emperor do the starchild shit, but suddenly loses godhood in the process
Simply becoming another guardsman who is also a psyker and claims to be the emperor
Or something
That sounds interesting
Y e s
For real gods you mean GW right?
I mean my preference would be for 40k to simply have an end because it's not really a modern setting
It's not made to be some dynamic every changing plotline story thing
Age of Sigmar was designed from the ground up for that, whereas 40k has been roughly converted into it and it's much more boring when it comes to its new "metaplot" than aos
40k feels like it'd be better off if they decided to give it a beginning, middle and end
Kind of like star wars
emp revives to newspaper the tyranid fleet and then dies
Most likely tyranid ending
Either that or Dante asspulls more powers and just super smites the entire hivemind
Like
Beginning: horus heresy
Middle: 40k
End: The imperium burns, maybe humanity survives to build something better, but the gods have definitely won in some fashion
Big pulpy space gothic tragedy
and then just give little stories set in the midst of that
That's what people have latched onto believe it or not
Armageddon, Vraks, Cadia, etc
They were all just little stories
No metaplot to care about just a timeline
Feels better suited to 40k's dystopian "there are no heroes" vibe
If there are no heroes, why should I give a shit about whatever the fuck guilliman is doing
Why should I care about "the story" when there is no hero's journey to follow
There is no plot structure
Just a setting with history
There a difference between a space fantasy history textbook (lore) and an actual story
Even fucking all tommorows has a plot structure compared to 40k
Maybe it's just because I'm an english teacher but I don't understand the hype around "the story"
The Horus Heresy "story" is only good in tiny chunks that have their own character arcs, otherwise it is just lore
lore is just trivia
worldbuilding
It's cool yes but it's not some grand story
40k is moreso a collection of stories
Not a unified one
So there's no need to focus on some metaplot about...what? The Emperor returning? Guilliman...surviving? The ynnari....existing? Cawl possibly closing the rift? Who fucking cares when the setting this is attached to never had any of this shit to begin with to get people interested?
It's tacked on
Now, if you tell me the smaller scale, personal pulpy character-driven story of talos the night lord and his cronies then I'm certainly interested in that but some metaplot? Fuck off
Especially one that manages to bounce between capeshit-in-40k, beating up the eldar and sounding disturbingly close to something the national alliance would publish sometimes

@vapid tiger
@vapid tiger It may simply be that 40k has too much shakespearian complexity for you. Perhaps move on back to disney star wars? It may be more your speed, given that you sound brain damaged
None of that.
watch the tone
yo wtf
are you about to claim that the star wars prequels are "shakespearian" because they're about as "shakespearian" as 40k
cause they're not and you sound like you're using big words to sound smart
and i teach english
To Be Fair, You Have To Have a Very High IQ to Understand 40k 😤
justin roiland 40k
Sorry.
Henry cavill has problems?
Ohhhhh.
OOOOOOHHHHHH YOU DIDN'T
You claim to be a star wars fan but hate the prequels?
So.
You literally teach shakespeare but do not understand modern shakespeare
typical age of shitmar fan
And they hate aos
Henry Cavill we did it reddit!!!
smh
Typical english teacher, really, given that you always seem to misinterpret things in favor of trying to find hidden messages in what are blatantly simple and fun things!
Apex Redditor
🤓
superduper you sound like a teenager I'm ngl
like shakespeare's fucking dead dude
there is no modern shakespeare
star wars prequels just have really wordy dialogue but none of the character dynamics or FUN shakespeare has, you just find the prequels cool and want to defend thinking that through pretending you are smart
I think the clone wars are a fucking awesome setting but the actual prequels are like
Terrible
Clone wars as a show is proof that it works well as a setting
Just that lucas is a shit director
whoa bud that is a lot of words to expect a custode fan to be capable of reading
Funny that you claim to be an english teacher yet I'm sure that if your students typed like that you'd give them bad grades
Average custodes stan
yeah
i am on discord
not writing a fucking essay
In fact wait a minute
Are you in high school my guy?
You should be in school.
Like, on the bus
I think only a teenager would moan that much about english teachers
English teachers do this to teach you the media literacy, whether or not the curtains being blue means the author is attempting to create a sad atmosphere or something is irrelevant because the point of thinking about it in the first place is teaching yourself to interpret the authors intentions
Oh geez

guys he said sigmarxist as an epithet
do you think he hates gay people too?
Cool spaceman is cool spaceman. There is no hidden meaning behind it being secretly satire or secretly a critique of hitler or something
this is a catholic server
"Hidden messages"
he prob doesnt believe all the warhammer spacemarines are gay for eachother
nah totally are 100%
enjoying their flights thru the warp in their gothic space bathhouses
Secretly satire?
you just lack reading comprehension
It's very blatant
Exactly
Study.
Study your skillset
If you have an IEP, use it to your advantage, use that extra time to understand, ask your teacher for tutoring after school
I will gladly assist
What did I come to
Oh, you want to prey on children after school???
3 words int othat message and you're either a troll or just.... fuck off
okay it's a troll
I said enough.
Cut it out, now.
He literally just joined and is stirring shit.
I know, I'm trying not to be your usual discord admin but lol

I'd say it's more than fair in this circumstance
It's okay
Heavily appreciated, now that you mention it.
Yeah?
Proof?
Sorry
PROCEEDS TO BLAM HIM
I'll take it to pms
Okay she didn´t blam him
Yeah I haven't yet
Dude deelted all his messages AHAHHAAHAHA I CAN´T MY CHEEKS HURT
lmao

least wimpy custode fan
I´m choking +

What the hell i return to in this hallowed lore channel?!?!?
Custodes Fan.
You are the one causing a ruckus for no reason.
And a very serious Dilara... Never thought to see the day that Dilara would have been deadly serious
Be glad I didnt put you in time out or even give you a slap on the wrist.
If it was any other mod though lol
but yeah don't go around saying random shit like another user stalking kids after school yeah?
I mean, you talked about things being simple, i think it is quite simple that you weren't really appreciative to others in the first place
Oh geez
GOD.
Jesus fucking christ
Least racist custodes fan
THAT'S FAKE
Really loves the n word
THAT'S OBVIOUSLY DOCTORED
Good lord
Lmfao
A true space marine fan
Certified bruh moment
Fkn knew it was gonna be a ban tonight
Lets be honest, not even custodes would like such people
Custodes would despise em
I understand why they don't like aos
Average 40k fan
Especially since custodes are quite friendly to all humans
Average English lit disliker
Oh I read his general shit
"I am more of a history guy"
Always this shit
they never actually know history anyway
or realize that language arts and history are intertwined
So is this ban 167?
least annoying custodes fan
Quick, two people say racial slurs so we can get to funny number
I have to do a praise to Dilara, she actually did a light ban, in the sense that the messages are still here, so we can understand what happened instead of seeing people just talking to someone that is not here anymore
Just gotta find the 2 black templar fans
Oh
CUSTODE GUY RUINED IT???
yeah
shit

custodes moment
well he was funny tho he messaged me
he was like "okay can't be racist here so maybe dms"
God there's gonna be so many awful people once the game releases
oh 100%
yep
i hope the ingame report system will be good
Look back at the old days
What do you mean once the game release?
They were already present sadly
Yea unfortunately true
AHAHAHAHA
"Yo 40k should be REAL LIFE" type of folks
It is
you should have seen it
Buncha fucking clowns
The screenshot
The moment he realised he fucked up
Alcy is dming me this is harassment right
HAHAHAHAHA WHAT
@toxic forge he's still here
Why acn I tag him then
Why are his chats here
Super powers?
And you're lacking the skill LEL
Hm, let me see
Dilara keep the messages
Too late lol
He did mention "go back to star wars"
Star wars legion is imo the better wargame tbf
Though the models can be worse
I think it depends
The first gen releases can be a bit chunky
But the Clone Wars stuff is all p good
Hey you did give him a lot of goddamn warnings
And of the original stuff, really only old Luke is ugly IMO
No one can ask for more
And now theres operative luke who looks fine
sorry no that´s way too hard
LFUCKING MAO
Old luke may need a helmet conversion
Yeah
Airspeeder is a beaut
Despite being one of the first heavies
Yeah uh
I want to get the speeder truck and uh
Throw wookies in it
Have them jump out and maul shit
But I also need the echo base box
Cause that's a good deal
Four rebel vet units, leia, chewie, r2 and c3po with 2 taun taun units and an fd cannon
For 150 dollar
Legion in general is rlly well priced
Yup
So uhhh Hammer of War amirite folx
... I swear it is always when I am busy doing shit that the dumb shit happens lol.
and without fail... it's another Pro Imperium "fan" that gets booted to the curb
Fucking 14-year-old Custodes fan talking about how @vapid tiger doesn't "understand the nuances of teh fortay-kay eeyooneverse¨
He was a troll though
Not someone serious
It's just fun to believe they're real
Just reading his name alone was a giant flag telling me that bit about him lol
:3
