I think it's a welcome change for a more balanced match ups and no more min maxing but if you want to soup up your armies with your friends no one is stopping you

Ok, I see now, thanks. The thing is that GW always had a somewhat unclear stance about the satirical aspect of the setting, and I have the feeling it got worse, even if the article "40k is satire" was a step in the right direction.

But there are much more official GW media depicting Space Marines as unequivocally heroic figures than before, I feel. The satirical aspect is still there, but it's a bit too "hidden" in my taste, probably because it's simpler to present Space Marines as heroic figures for a young audience, rather than genetically enhanced brainwashed child soldiers.

For instance, I still love satirical material such as the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer, the Black Library books 15 Hours or Fire Caste and the regimental Standard articles (sadly discontinued), but they are a minority still putting forward the satirical aspect of the setting. For instance, it's sadly missing from most of the recent Guard Black Library novels.

But anyway, I disgress!

As a beginner miniature painter (well, I had a 20 year pause and wasn't very good in the first place!), I've bought Victoria Miniatures but had a bit of trouble with them, I think because they're resin. I wanted to add them to have more diversity in my Imperial Guard. However, I found the process of washing them a bit tedious, and I find that they break easily when I tried and cut them from their sprues, compared to plastic sprues.

Yeah that was the biggest issue I had. I just was super careful when crafting. Plus since there Resin I was able to use a heat gun to tweak their positions a bit. Definitely helped with the camo cloaks.
