Myriad of reasons.
It wasn't exclusive to any legion, it was a brand new mark rolled out just before the heresy. Raven Guard and the Alpha Legion favoured it the most of the legions.
The new edition launches with it mostly because nostalgia value and we can expect the rest of the marks getting an update down the line

One mission was quite difficult and required a restart for me because I chose a stupid way of approach. With some more thought but into it I fared quite well with minimal damage to my guys as well
also weapons like the psilencer seem to heavily outclass other weapons like the flamer
grenades are fun to utilize in a way to manipulate positions of enemies to achieve the maximal damage output with a single AOE attack
