I forgot to grab primer and glue, so im actually headed to a hobby store

For glue basically anything works, but for primer i think im currently using an army painter black primer?

Works really well. I've also had v good luck with GWs stuff

For primer it depends. If you're painting light colors, I'd go with white or an off white. Or a light grey depending on it. For flesh or shirtless minis or minis showing a lot of flesh, I tend to go red and layer it a bit?

For armor I tend to go black for primers

For glue @fallow spruce , I will swear by Tamiya cement. Its great. Its applied on a brush, and it literally melts the plastic together so its secure

Keep in mind on the paint you're using. If you're using contrast paints, you want grey as the darkest primer.

For my glue, I use specifically Tamiya TAM87012 Plastic Cement 20ml for big pieces, for small or fine pieces I use TAMIYA 87038 Extra Thin Cement Glue Fine Tip 40ml.

I bought these in 2018 and am only just now considering buying a new pot of the 20mL one in like... 3 months.

OH! Rule one of assembling any mini: Dry fit first, before gluing. It will save you a LOT of grief.

And get yourself like a nice side cutter to cut them off the sprue, and a small hobby knife to like... scrap off mold lines

You should just lightly see the texture of your skin under the paints to ensure its nice and thin.

But not too thin like water.

Before paint though: Prep work. Clean the model, and think about how it'll be to paint it. Like if they have shields, or guns, it might be easier to paint them without that attached first, and attach them later.

Alo that blue stuff? Blue tack or fun tak. Good for dry fitting mini parts

All this other stuff? They're just tricks

They may make things easier

But they're just that, tricks to make things easier.

Like, look at the instructions and see what you can do without all the fancy schmancy stuff

Weapons? Yep. Paint weapons.

Okay so, in summary

• Wash the model
• Clean it (Clip, shear mold lines, etc.)
• Dry fit

• (Then attach other things like weapons or armamemts)

Yeah. So contrasts will only work well if you have a very light colour for them to attach to.

Contrasts are basically inks.

So they coat differently. Black primer will not show the colour at all.

But you may be able to use the contrast Ork flesh to make an AMAZING wash for your skin tones.

Water it down lightly and hit all your base coated skin with that contrast.

Could look amazing.

It depends, I tend to take a... step by step approach. I'm painting ten minis at a time, so i go for one color at a go each time

So if you got something else red to paint I'd stick with red. But if you're bored or wanna stick another color on, I'd go on with another
