That make sense, kastelan need constant control from datasmith (iirc their name), the kataphrons being bikes is weird though... I think that the keyword corundrum is because in 7th ed they were kinda separate from the cult mechanicus armies, and while probably GW is trying to merge them in one something left over is still there
Like, in lore the kastelan always repeat the last given order, so if you tell them attack someone they will keep shooting that target even when the target is dead...

had one just like that a while ago when i did a lot of electronics servicing
ive got a different thing now for model building but with the same alligator style clamps on the end, i put a couple layers of heatshrink tubing on the jaws for the clamps so i dont get any marks if the plastic they clamp to is kind of soft
