Yeah it's a really nice design, and thanks. I am hoping we get a primaris Grimaldus at some point, but it might just be a case where if you wanted that, you'd have to do a conversion Black Templars are definitely my favorite and biggest source of 40k inspiration followed by Dark Angels and Ultramarines (mainly due to the availability of art/photos of the models)

The only weapons that have it by default are Deathwatch bolt pistols (which is NOT on the Deathwatch equipment list), Deathwatch boltguns (and their associated twin and combi-weapon versions), the stalker-pattern boltgun, and the vigil spear possessed by the Watch Master. Other units can get it via the Artificer Bolt Cache or by spending 2CP on the Special-Issue Loadout Stratagem, but otherwise that’s it.

Flanged I think were more effective cutting the armor on top of the concussive force.

Vs. spiked which were meant to just pock mark the armor and the wearer with flesh wounds on top of the concussive force.

Both had their use.

But flanged legit would split the armor vs. putting holes in it.

They wouldn't cut, maybe dent a little more but the flanges were to get a better "grip" when hitting the armor to prevent it from glancing off and loosing most of its momentum

Its hard to impossible to punch holes in breastplates, depending on the quality
