the reason why i consider that system is bc it helps you not use like the Big Five (six? it might be six) items that like every character has
and allows you to utlize some of the zany items

I was thinking go around destroying everything and anything, potentially creating their own waystations and siege machines, but ones that are totally borked because their circuits are all fried
my general plan was to use the original city, Kueningrad, as a sorta starting point, where'd they'd do stuff after being chosen by an ancient magical stone construct known as the Stone Mind, who'd direct them to do some shit before sending them out into the wastes to figure out what's all happened out there

Alright, so
Lemme start from where I started, what I based this all off of, which is really what I should've done first but I didn't because I was dumb
I based this off of some genuine ol D&D lore, from like 2e or something
There's this realm known as Mechanus where this being known as the Prime One directs a bunch of robots to do stuff in order to maintain complete Law, since this is the plane of Law
But in the actual lore, this Demon Lord King Whatever named Orcus came about
and he was all "Oh no, I lose my Necromancy Wand which allows me to cause Death and Undeath in huge numbers, lemme use these bots to find it" and killed Prime One and took over Mechanus. But in my variation of the lore, he instead was all "Wait a second. This plane can create infinite numbers of robots, why don't I send them out and cause havoc!"
and this caused this world called Istla, which is kinda like a convergence point for a lotta planes, to get overrun, until a dude sacrificed a city to close the portals, though the robots were still out and about causing havoc

its a good start but i think you should work from that side a bit more before looking at the human side. As beings of order they follow absolute law, so maybe orcus is using an implement to make this an absolute order, something they cannot work against hense the steady breakdown of their actions and general maintenance

I'm not sure what I want. I really prefer pure lasgun squads but as things keep getting tougher it's approaching a point where rolling 37 dice does a bit too little for the effort. At the same time I'm vary of buffs cuz they're just lads with lasguns yknow. Having them be among the worst individual models in the game is part of the dream.
But hey, as long as I can still field 120+ dudes I'll be happy

actually finished a pretty hefty combat yesterday and its been the first time ive actually used the mechs kit

altered 3 enemy attack rolls to miss and took out around 20 mechs
its been pretty great applying how i assumed the mech would play
and it working as intended
