I don't have the adequate ventilation so I just use vallejo polyurethane
but not the white or grey ones, white is terrible for what I've heard

I use golden high flow burnt umber specifically the burnt umber, sometimes the raw umber not the carbon black. Its more durable and paint goes over it better than every airbrush primer in the hobby market, its also cheaper too. I have some lab tests if youre curious about this too

I once shipped a sword from Wisconsin to the UK and I had to sit through it being imported to the UK, making it through customs fine, then being kept by FedEx cause they "don't ship weapons", then being sent back on a plane to the US, only for me to have to ship it again using DHL or some other company that shipped it just fine.
Oh and their customer support rep told me I could pick it up at the airport, only for them to refuse when I arrived. I'll never trust FedEx again.

Well I'm not sure if that's explicitly canon but that was my personal interpretation of it.
My captains have more red than grunts
some grunts have more red than others
I also like to imagine it's more personalised on skills. So a good marksman gets red arms first.

apply thinner paint in more layers and it will look smoother
you're already doing alright on the gradient but maybe watch some blending tutorials
throw some bright highlights in those lines to make them pop (usually necrons you'll want to pick an "energy palette" with a base glow color and make a few shades of it, i typically put the brightest color in those indents and at the center of glowing orbs and surround them with darker shades)

You should fill the side vent on the jumppack, it kinda looks like a flat mess of red in the photos
if you fill that at least with some dark purples and/or blacks, it'll create a lot more visual intrest.
and if you really want to nitpick, a small blackline between the bottom of the pauldrons and the arms would fix up those patches of grey

Just started on the EC and in the tormentors I noticed it comes with 2 plasma and 2 melta which the build manual has the whole <2 for both. So am I limited to (up to) 2 of either or can I field all 4?

btw I'm scared for the orks and chaos space marines they look like they're not in a happy place

I'm just relieved we got 5 point guardsmen. It probably won't be the best, but seems like 100+ guardsmen will still be fieldable (which is great since it's the coolest way to play IG) :)
