super glue cures by a chemical reaction with moisture in the air or on the surfaces being bonded.

so bakinng soda, insta-cure fluids, etc can do a lot to cause it to cure quicker

Depends on what you're having difficulty with specifically. But I can give you general tips if that's what you're looking for.

For edge highlights you should be using the side of the brush closest to the tip, and use a fine point brush as well. For the eyes, use the tip of a fine point brush. And always remember to thin your paints as well as wipe off excess paint on a paper towel from your brushes before you apply them.

If you don't already own a model stand like this, get one. It'll make painting a lot easier.

Be gentle with paint application when it comes to fine details

Take your time and don't rush. If you mess up, don't worry, you can easily fix mistakes by painting over them with the correct color.

For regular non-edge highlights its basically the same tactic for edge highlights

This isnt true and I have proof of it too, lots of research documents. Primer is chemically identical to the paint youre using, the only difference is that it has a larger particle size

if your paint is flaking off it means you over thinned it or the paint is of a low quality

the infernus was super straightforward to paint because its a lot of wide surfaces and its not loaded with creases and details

But do people paint more intricate models separately before gluing them ? Like i built the vespids but i didnt glue the wings on any of them yet, bc theyre a super important part of the look and I figured i was gonna have trouble painting the inner side if the minis were fully built

And i havent started building the aquilons yet, but i have a similar feeling about it. Lots of small details or parts that will be semi hidden behind another part of the model like how the weapon can hide some of the pouches etc

ive been practicing on a throwaway ork kommando a friend gave me and while its fun, some parts of the model like ammo pouches or dynamite packs are extremely hard to fully cover without constantly spilling over the body, because theyre just so close to angles or right below one arm, etc

so i was thinking that for at least some outer bits or very small bits of models, like jetpacks/wings and accessories, i could paint them before gluing them so i can do a better job

I like to think after Ive completed my infantry regiment, a Artillery platoon would be next. The only questions I have is, mechanized or not? and how many mor OOP models It will take? Back at it with these guys, the enamel mud paints had gone bad and they dried glossy and without much texture so I've been struggling to find motivation to properly finish these. As for grenades themselves, the new Emperor's Children range has tons of hallucinogen grenades (and combat stims, for that matter), Kasrkin have armored hands throwing grenades (the normal guard kit does too if you want a slimmer hand), the genestealer cults truck (I think the big one but I forget what it's called) has a whole demolitions kit full of bombs, and the atlan jackals have dynamite.

You can also find melta bombs in a couple space marine firstborn kits, but I forget specifically which, I just have a few in my bits box
