Bricky's faction video is pretty good for giving the basics of the vibe of each.
There is a TTS discord and people on there can show you how to play
I dont have a link as im not in it
ok i just know i am VERY new but i love the lore so i wanna get into it
The Golden Throne
The squad is almost done
considering i'm pretty sure Magnus was built to power the Golden Throne, i certainly hope Big E was nice enough to install a toilet
.... do primarchs poop? i genuinely don't know
Love me Stormcast Eternals
I'm actually using them as Sagittarium Custodes. Hence why the crossbows have the cross part removed.
And why they're in the Solar Watch colour scheme
I wanna slash nuln oil on him but at the same time I don't
Don't slash any oil on him. I think a purple or pink shade would look much better
I do have Drucii violet
actually dying, what on earth is GW's new Logo
New logo?
It's just for corporate from what I can find
Love the choice to leave the crossbow arms off
Just saw your later message lol, good stuff
desire to paint the interior intensifies
That's why I assembled it the way I did
I'm gonna paint the interior first then fit it together like a puzzle piece
Reloading
Son and I are building a tank. Still working on the Baneblade, but he was a bit intimidated by it.
honestly assuming you arent dealing with a bone head with enhanced thinking you could expect to have to remind them of things as simple as which way to go and why? 'to find the emperors enemies of course!'
think a child asking the same questions in the car over a long journey
that metalic blue is a really nice colour actually
also yeah baneblades can be intimidating for adults even lol
Gunmetal Blue. He picked it out.
That's brilliant
like a kid writing cheats on the back of their hand before going into an exam
One last one
simple as
You can do it! Also they’re easy to dry fit multiple variants without magnetization
Here’s mine
This is awesome. I don’t have the kind of precision to write legibly on their shields
That looks really good!
Progress
He's cadi-done
I got asked to do World Eaters from the scouring that has been fighting loyalists over 40k
Newest addition to my backlog
Got my new Minka Lesk finished just in time for the start of my crusade! Also first attempt at a nmm sword which def needs improvement but I’m happy with it!
Also almost two years ago I started my warhammer journey with my other Minka lesk model. Cool to see how much has changed
That sword is gorgeous
Thank you!!
Yellow
LOVE that color
Yeah the massive outrage from the warhammer community over their "new logo" is actually mind numbing
stark reminder that literacy is a privilege in this community
Is so funny your using another miniature body as the painting stand
Examples must be made to the rest of them
I too like torturing myself
Contrasts baby 😎
this is my first go using them and god damn it's sp much easier
More minis being made examples of
Those big Easter egg mugs are the best thing to happen to me. Mine conveys my morning buckets worth of coffee
It is an ancient relic, used for the rites of painting
My paint pot is this. I’d be impressed if people knew what this is from.
Is that from TinTin?
Extra points if you name the character
No chance there, been absolutely years since I’ve seen one of those
I remember the art style, but not much else
I have a soft spot for TinTin, found some official merch including that mug in a store the other day
I think the last time I saw anything related to that in person was… 2012?
I love the tintin film
any texture paint suggestions for a moon?
i read enough belgian comics as a kid to recognize tintin any day
Albeit "cartoonish" with my chrrent sculpting skills and computer ability, would grotesque style helmets fit with a sort of feudal world theme. Or should i lean into something more monstrous.
I intend to run a hose from the mouth to that round bit on the back, then mount an oxygen pack on the back of the torso
Little more work today, done some work on the weapons and got the helmet sorted
Crazy bold colors i love it
I can't put down the cup 🥤 😔 ✊
Craig
My first ever
the grime on that armour looks really good
Damn you chose white but managed to do it pretty good!
Thank you!
yellow and black is so cool, great work!
It’s gonna be great after the details and a wash
Marines Malevolent, love to hate those guys
Better than the poor Lamenters
Them
Only a few details left
BJORN

"kill me brothers"
I've Made Sargeant Morrow in Hero Forge. thought it belongs here.
besrerker
Perfect, basing material for my thousand sons
nice but doesn't unburn prospero
After taking part in the largest Finnish miniature competition last weekend and scoring two silvers and a bronze, it sparked some motivation in me to continue this year and a half old WIP again
Nice job on the blood!I like that rotten flesh look on the possessed one too
It has been so long since I laid my eyes on this project I am so happy to see it back on the board
hah cheers to that 😄
Im making some retroesque thunderbolts
Thanks! Messily mixing brown and green works wonders sometimes
we like shipping containers
Mk 3 alpha legion (working on the emblem)
soon(lie) to be chaos lord/counts as daemon prince with wings
3rd attempt at sculpting hair
First Sword Brother done... 4 to go..
Progress pics, just the bases left
not me but what SM chapter would he be in?
Carcharadons maybe? At least that's what the colour scheme and sword screams
Personality wise though, that's more difficult...
Is that Guts from Berzerk or another big sword guy I don't know?
Yup, it is. Saw a staggering amount of crossover minis/art for Guts in 40k as an Astartes so I thought I'd ask hahaha
Ultramarines, no helmet, named charater, big sword
They're done!
Just exported to blender to smooth out now for print prep
Exorcist's
Just gotta paint one last inquisitor for the display. Then a bunch of servo skulls and make them fly around with some metal rods
Goes hard
wow this is really well done!!
Thank you!
Threw a gifted apostle together
That looks great
Thanks boss!
Next time I'm doing yellow I'm gonna contrast over light primer
I ain't dealing with shading that manually
Family is coming together
(ignore the fact each and every one is a slightly different shade of yellow)
Also I have to come clean
Only one eye looks decent

well good thing the good one will always be looking forward
The fistening
Millions must fi- best I don't say that
Techmarine
mfw i earn money and buy things
As do I
just happened to browse the nerd store i go to while getting my flic sewn
Great family photo
I miss the aesthetic of the older models.
same
Progressed on a bunch of areas but mostly focused on the neck and head area of the horse
That is horrifyingly realistic looking
Thank you!
Loving this amazing work
got him with his fuck ass haircut (Looks fantastic)
Thanks i have 3 more of them to paint lmao
Much appreciated, not too shabby yourself either
love the creative use of the transfer!
The chain by chance?
Also thank you unfortunately none of the crosses I had fit the bolter so I had to think outside the box
Yes the chain! I have a similar set of transfers from the arbites box, but I don't see many examples online on how they apply the chain transfers
Id imagine you would have to get creative like i did haha
Awesome pose!
traitor enforcer ascended
4 years of progress
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOVE IT, do you plan to do a dark metal?
the white and blue has better contrast
the green and dark blue have the same value so its not as interesting
I think I agree
This was the first one I did with the green but a buddy said to try white in the corner slices
Yeah the shoulder part is almost finished I reckon so the rest of the metallics ought to be similar
:3
I'm having a strange difficulty with wanting to shade these guys and I'm not really sure why
Usually I'm pretty liberal with shade paints but I do some raveners and I sit here like "idk"
Damn so much good painting going on here. Wish I could add my own to the pool.
W buys👅👅👅
Blood angels
Still needs a few more steps after this like dry-brush, shade, transfers, and base props
But, he is completely colored in and cleaned up. Gotta say I’m really happy with how he came out
My best in a while tbh
That's very nice
New Mutant on the right
Listening to Slayer while paining Chaos Cultist goes hard frfr
Well shit guess it do work
I'm a bit too hasty for my own good so it's a bit choppy but still
Also I really like this higlight
G GUNDAM‼️‼️‼️
Normal 💯 % human psyker
Woah Mama
All the magnetizing I can do for now, need to buy more before I continue
What color should I do for the wraps? I can't decide
Maybe a neutral brown or grey one, you already got three colours (green dominant ofc because ork)
Love that suggestion neutral brown it is ty
Messed up quite a bit but im happy with the skin
Just gotta fix little mistakes and he is done i think

Is that a sub machine gun?
"My lobster's too buttery! My steak is too juicy!" STOP COMPLAINING YOU WHINER!THEY LOOK GREAT
Why are they yellow though
you cropped out the price
Dark green doesn't really read that well on dice
I didn't, the person on Reddit did
you will be executed by proxy
fire is red
it does when indents are bright
a naked ogryn covered in grease on the loose is actually a nightmare scenario
Yeah if you sprinkle lithium chloride on it
But normally its orange and yellow
i have never felt more confident in using the nerd emoji
Keep doing it I love it
i mean, i guess. one step too many for my taste, in terms of choosing colours at least. salamanders are know for burning things and having green armor, so why choose the thing that's not about colour?
green dice with fire-coloured indents would look better imo
see space wolf dice
I have dark green dice with white pips and its still hard for me to see at a glance
And when you're rolling a handful of dice you need to be able to see them quickly
would be more visible with more red pips
Also people in the comments of that post were saying it'll make the dice easier to see amongst all the green marines
point is its certainly possible to make good looking green dice
salamanders got the short end of the stick then i guess
Space marines never get the short end of any stick please rot
they do all the time
they barely got any releases during the last stream
only 5 named characters
I mean personally I'm happy for anything
Salamanders finally getting something
well dark angels kept their green dice. in the sense that one of the "green" chapters had to not be green, and it was salamanders, they were the unlucky ones
also grow up
White pips and bad dice
looks fine to me
does GW sell pre loaded dice
so i can skip the complicated process of loading all my dice
Their dice are so bad they are pretty much loaded
and more importantly, stylistically obviously dark angel. the only thing salamander about the salamander dice is the icon
Baron of Dice is the way to live
Pretty sure thats also the old one
yeah
And if we are bringing up old dice salamanders had green ones so go play with that or something
they should make dice out of actual fire
if the argument is that the new ones are bad then i agree
I mean look at them
I'm still gonna buy the new dice, I like them
Theyre also like 32 bucks for 16
the most egregious thing about gw dice is still the price
youd think they are made of actual ivory
go to small artists!!!
artisanal dice are awesome and somehow cheaper despite being hand made
I get my dice off esty and Baron
My cadian dice are unironically cursed though
They've killed more of my plasma gunners than they've killed stupid votann
Max damage armored Sentinel plasma hazard roll by the way like what the fuck
Also I just remembered the new dice look like the salamander's badab era color scheme
Same two colors
I have several hundred artisanal dice and I don't use them because they all roll like shit.
It's really disappointing.
Most of them are super unbalanced, especially the resin core dice
that's a skill issue on the craftsman
nothing more to say
This is more than just one Craftsman.
It's almost all of them have really awful balancing
I just stick with chessex now
The resin core ones are really bad as well. I'm able to trick shot twenties on the d20 all the time, great for screwing over my players, bad for fairness.
same applies to all of them who have not managed to get weight distribution well
of course it's hard to replicate machine accurate dice weight distributionr
but even with machines there's a ton of variability that makes some dice better than others
my custom dice are great, no problems
I have yet to find a single cool dice that is actually good and rolls random. But then again I also deal with a store that bans all the fun dice
We've had too many counts of cheating from resin dice
So it's basically chessex or chessex
And yes most of that was for me.
I'm not allowed at 40k events for 2 more years lol
I haven’t actually played the game. Too many sweatlords
It depends on exactly where you're playing, but it's really not that bad
I mean, sure, you'll lose a lot at first, but it's still fun
I mean they stink and their minis are unpainted meta chasers
I had observed them in their habitat
I’d go to an official games workshop store but it mainly seems to be mothers and children being sold premium priced plastic crack
I guess you're just unlucky with your place. Everybody in my club is a perfectly normal person
They might also not like how much I kitbashed
All I'm saying is give it a try. You'll most likely find that the "might not like" things you're thinking about are not particularly serious
Don't believe everything you read on the internet, there's selection bias. The stories you are more likely to read are the more outrageous ones, by design. I'm not saying annoying smelly nerds don't exist, but they are in fact the minority
I really wanted to get custom dice from the Baron until I saw the minimum order size is like 500. I just want 20 - 40, please!
10mm smg
Joined my GW’s store anniversary painting competition
Pulled Bastian, very excited to get
Him up and painted
I've gotten so unlucky in my trials to find normal humans but 6th time is the charm
I think my area is just evil incarnate
Damn, you keep finding the Genestealer cult /j
ok because you literally aren't even wrong these people are NOT real
I went to a gamestore on my lunch break during a 16 hour shift at a hospital and the clerk was harassing me and calling me slurs for buying warhammer
in a store that sells warhammer
it was the most confusing puzzle in my life
Damn, that is indeed quite shitty
"lord of poxes"
cant lead poxwalkers
Who can actually lead poxwalkers outside of Typhus?
Or is it just him? (would make sense, since he created the walking pox)
The ERA should be fine since it looks like you scratch made them yourself, same as any other things you kitbash or scratch build from cut up GW models, plasticard, greenstuff, miliput etc
The only real red line to look out for with GW run events are using 3rd party models and pieces
this is all for GW tournament standards atleast, i think whats allowed at your local GW shop can depend on the guy running the store, and any other local game store or tournament not hosted by GW can care a lot less about these things
now to choose head and greenstuff some mustaches
maybe I should try making the head on the right into big boss
he's the lord of poxes, not the lord of walkers
- Buy a stormcast blind box
- Hope for a cool character
- Open the box
- Its a liberator
Blightbringers and Plaguecasters can
welp, at least its got a fancy kneepad
just remember, 99% of gamblers quit before they pull a praetor

Well i just started so cut me some slack
Progress on the second marine
You need to paint one purple and yellow and try to match your cup
big day for space marine players
I gotta get back to my army but here's a few models from my guard I painted like 7 years ago
I recently did some night lords but I don't have pics
Holy shit finally a cheap Judiciar
Death Korps 158th
Finished the "blessed" apostle
How does one do a glowing affect, drybrush?
Got a foo with a power sword I’m thinking of attempting on
depends what you what you want your power to look like
Want to paint stunning power swords to elevate your Space Marine characters? or maybe you're just looking for some tips on blending and glazing on your miniatures...
All is revealed in this step-by-step miniature painting tutorial, and don't forget you can find the extended 30 minute masterclass for this tutorial, Including every single step f...
Old cadians best cadians
Does it read as ink on parchment?
Gonna wash it to even the colours out but I think it looks really decent for a first ever try of something like that
well i mean its pretty obvious what it is, but it looks off
Purity Seals adorn honoured Space Marines Battle Brothers across nearly all the Chapters in the Imperium. They have fought hard for their honours and now Adam will show you how to paint the text so you can show them off on the battlefield or in your display cabinets. Sit back, relax and enjoy the video!
Here is a list of the paints we’ll be ...
too dark, too thick basically
You can use a micropen instead of a brush, too.
Another Chimera for the motor pool
Am I going crazy or it is melta turret?
You make white scars look tempting to paint your work is that good
its a heavy flamer
though heavy flamers dont really look like that nowadays
Ah, I see
So you've built an amazing anti-Infantry Chimera....good choice
I cant decide which head to go for
I'd say number 1
The hat and mustache really sells the higher up look if that's that's you're going for
Oh yea all the flamers, figured I needed at least one although I notoriously role ones on my flamer shots lol
Also I vote for the head on the right, looks really unique and like he’s seen a ton of battles. Great work on your green stuff!
Progress pic on the Blade champion, steps 1-3 done
It does but the right one reminds me of Big boss
They teased Adeptus Custodes rehash for Horus Heresy, I wonder if it's a concrete thing or just a new guardian spear variant
Magnetize both? 😛
my brother in arms, i am excited to see how this comes out! Solar Watch?
i love how even those these dudes are 11ft tall, their sword makes them look small. how big even is this thing, 13 feet from tip to pommel?
Indeed, The Castellans of the Blessed Worlds
Hello I hope this is right place to ask. Does anyone happen to know the dimensions of this tank once assembled? The kit is from 1999-2000 and I'm struggling to find any information about it online. Just rough width, length, and height would be a huge help.
The Chud Son
def cookin
That moustache is fabulous
I could do that
Yeah, its cryminal how little of that is in new guard range
The reason for green stuff
First time in my life I painted a model....
Congrats!
Does a primer base coat color matter if my painting style is mostly layering?
I've been priming black but im wondering if maybe grey will make my life easier
Yes. Especially if you do layers.
The prime coat dictates if the paint will be brigher or darker, even in full coverage, also with darke colors, its more forgiving with shadows.
It all depends on how do you want to paint it
For models with bright color schemes, its good idea to go for bright grey or white, if you are aiming for grim colors, go for dark grey or black. For warmer colors, brown is also good idea for base coat.
I like layering a lot and messy highlights, but the initial base coating can be really frustrating with the black paint being difficult to cover up
I usually do warm colors I'll definitely consider brown
Try different color paint, I often use grey seer primer
I gave away my grey seer because I was also struggling with coverage. But I've gotten a lot better
Brown is also good but I dont know if there is good brown primer, people usually paint things with primer and apply brown manually
How about a zenithal highlight with Grey seer/chaos black?
You know what works for me well? Mechanicus standard grey from GW. Here's my colour scheme I do with it, its much brighter than what I usually paint
I absolutely love those fatigues
You can do that too.
I use darker primer for it but the end it ends up quite bright. But honestly, it depends on what you are paining?
And whats the color scheme
I kinda just paint everything. Right now im painting previously primed chaos black Orks and Thousand Sons, and rn im trying to decide how to prime my Halo Elite
And feel free to ask your local lsg or hobbyst if they can prime one model for you in different primers to find what would work for you.
Thats a great idea my lgs is beyond friendly
What color schemes exactly?
For my sangheli im trying to do their lore accurate colors. So a bright bluish purple, a vibrant red, and a white
For red and white, you can actually go for some sandy primer, I think that could work.
Yeah I was thinking about doing a Zandri Dust spray for the white i thought it sounded good
Warm red would be really good on zandri dust or maybe skeleton horde kind of colour. And white, you can easily build up sandy to grey and grey to off-white (no way to paint white without massive hassle)
Thats awesome to know, I really didn't wanna have to buy a primer
Purple... well, for purple, you could actually try and use metallic primer. With metallic and then purple contrast, you might even achive this kind of metallic-bug like carapace the purple sangheli have
No problem. Alternative always is airbrush but you gotta ask yourself if its worth investing so much if you don't paint much.
God I would love an airbrush, maybe one day. I appreciate the sage advice though!
Always happy to help 🫡
Not sure on the armour colour choice…..
Sum shiny
Wogawobaga
My zenithal actually went so wrong idk what to do
Would odorless paint thinner damage the minis?
Fuzzy elite
something like white/mineral spirits? It can if you submerged plastic models for a long time yes, specifically it can temporarily soften the plastic making it easier to accidentally deform or soften details (or outright melt if left long enough) but its generally the least aggressive thinner and best suited for modelling
people use white spirits on models for all sorts of techniques using oils and enamel paints without melting their models, might be worth watching a few videos of people using oils and enamels if you want to be more informed
if you were hoping to strip paint with it id suggest looking up using Isopropyl alcohol instead
Is it safe to strip paint from a PVC mini using simple green?
not tried personally but maybe?
found a video testing it, seems to work well! https://youtu.be/OqBjt1wKZfc?t=623
Head to Head testing of popular paint strippers for plastic minis!
Simple Green
Super Clean aka Purple Drink
LA's Totally Awesome
Ammonia
Isopropyl Alcohol aka IPA / Isopropanol / Rubbing Alcohol
Ethyl Alcohol aka Ethanol / Denatured Ethanol / Methylated Spirits / Everclear
In this video I take many of the strippers people commonly suggest ...
Oh sweet, thank you! Google wasn't that helpful
if in doubt, test on sprue
where i can post my quar vehicles and miniatures
Do you guys think I should just strip these or what?
Because it was 100 degrees outside when I sprayed so it was definitely just user error. Why the fuck is it 100 degrees at 6 PM bro
Irritates the hell out of me how I can only prime during the fucking witch hour
if you were depending on the base coat to carry the paint job because youre using contrasts or something then maybe? otherwise with regular paints the zenithal acts more as a shading guide and maybe only faintly shows through the finished look
I lean more into a layering/highlight look so I should be fine by that criteria
it could be worth pushing through with a test model, no pressure if you make any more mistakes to learn from because you already planned to strip it, and if the end result turns out nice then maybe the mistake wasnt that big of a deal after all
really nice free handing on this one
Very true, I'm hoping for the best
It is currently still 82 degrees at 9 PM and I still cannot prime my miniatures
I made a tiny person
First time I've painted in years, not quite done yet, but... thoughts?
Does anyone know if these old upgrade sets fit the newer plastic contemptor dread?
Ok im just convinced that my Grey seer is bad
I did this at night time where the tempature and humidity is lower, I sprayed the same way I do with every other primer and all my other primers come out perfect
Primera are… works of mystery. If the planets are missaligned, they will do that. Try it on sprue from different distances
Does it have grainy texture?
Yeah it does. Not as bad but still the same as my past 2 attempts
Its frying my brain because ive never had this issue before with primers
All 3 attempts have little to alot of grain
Im just hoping to everything its not too visible after I get some paint on it
Shaked it well? It probably is also 100% superstition but I also wash my rattlecan with warm water
Ive never washed mine but yeah I shake my cans for 5+ minutes usually
And if anything, you always get access to simple green
This is just how almost any white or light colour rattle can works
getting a smooth zenithal with a rattle can is near impossible
I give it a WAAAAGH/10
Wait really?
My friend was telling me that its likely just looking like that because its the primer on primer texture and its fine
It's not grainy texture yeah the paint particles just land so far apart from oneanother for a nice gradient
How would you improve it? Besides finishing the unpainted bits
Honestly idk, I’ve never painted Orks
Just go with what you think looks cool, it’s your mini after all
Dude, where's my rihno?
He’s got a gun
I thought I was the only one who would snip the scope off and attach it to the picatinny rail
Fren
Well technically in this case he is one of the levithan sternguard, so that's how he comes
Oh…
Yeah, push to fit
I’ll keep searching for someone with my exact mental illness then
On the other hand this is GW admitting you were right the whole time
Love to see some Banana Marines. Nicely done
the (ex) master of shadows
Chaos Farsight
Need help
I got Iron Warriors Base Paint and Dawnstone (For Armor and Helmet). I use grey see for the gas mask and are these paints accurate for the Darktide krieg skin?
This is the reference I used for picking my paints
A wee bit lighter however I don’t think anyone outside of official tourney’s are going to gaf
thanks but I mostly wanted to accurate paint the Darktide skins

I painted the Elysians For aquilons

I wish we get Elysians instead of Aquilons
Oh I misread what you said my bad

The biggest pain is the Straps
I hate making mistakes and paint the armor again

Axe Gang vs Sword Gang
Yarrick stands on a can of energy drink
I really dont understand the purpose of zenithal highlighting if you aren't using contrast paints or an airbrush
I believe there isn't a purpose if you're not using them
Damn and to think i unnecessarily made everything harder because I fell for miniature painter propaganda
Ruined my otherwise perfectly primed minis
Lesson learned!
I need to figure out how to shade yellow without it looking like a mud dive
I like the grime though
Tbh this whole set is a mess
But it's my second set altogether do I guess I should be less harsh on myself lol
At least it is kind of uniform
'cept for the white highlighted dhse that ones my wife's
you really think that?
thats nice to hear lol
i mean, it IS straight up yellow over gray primer
this one figurine i tried drybrushing pink all over as the undercoat
and it worked great but i had to fix my mistakes from bad brush control and i kind of lost that orange'y hue in most areas
im most proud of that bolt gun though
All I’d say is try to get the inside edges on the pauldron to have it all look equally worn but it looks fantastic
Yellow is baller
i might go over before i do the last figurine and fix it up
im trying to find a healthy way to wash these minis
without so much coffee staining
i reckon im gonna do my next imperial fists with contrast instead of straight up yellow acrylics however
Really just target the recesses in the joints rather than going entirely over would be my guess
im planning to do more accurate shading on my next minis
i take it as a 'learning experience'
really hammer it into my head what happens when you go overboard
at least the streaky grimey look i find enjoyable
and its not hard to have fists pop because yellow contrasts really well with pretty muhc anything
to me at least
in anyway i could've fucked up worse on my second ever set
I prefer my fellas worn to hell and back but that’s just me
yeah these guys need a go-over with a pressure washer lol
love the red plasma
i tried a green one on my aquilons
and it looks kinda silly lol
that whole set was a real exploratory experience
but i did get it down in the end i think
they're not boring
I just didn’t have blue lol but I do think the red looks cooler
I wanna try doing a more glowing effect but I just don’t know how without those fancy-schmancy airpainters. I would guess to dry brush probably
That’s sick holy
ive seen glazes over white coils used to great effect
Might get some proper white and try that, I currently only got wraithbone lol
i mean im not an expert by any stetch i've barely dipped my fingers into this mini painting shebang
i do watch a lot of vince venturella though lol
i've heard of and seen glazes used for glows
but i guess you can go ez mode and use glow paint
army painter has a plasma coil glow technical paint that i believe is fluorescent under uv light
Trust me I started with just a pack of intercessors at the beginning of July, now I’ve got orks and kriegsmen to build n paint, rest of hellblasters and necrons
thats sick bro
im playing aorund with kill teams because the like the idea of being able to easy play a whole game should it ever happen
low chance but im getting around to it slowly
i am tempted to do age of sigmar next
maybe skaven
anything bestial would be cool
but, hell
My very first mini vs my more recent fellas
if games workshop ever decides to drop an exodite kill team i'd go for that
i mean fucking dinosaurs with canons
its really hard to top
I wanna start building chaos marines n such but I’ve already got a bunch I need to work with so I gotta hold off a bit lmaoo
yeah i get that
after i finished the night lords omnibus the nemsis claw set started looking really appealing
i would definitely hate painting the fleshy capes n shit lol
I def wanna acquire green stuff at some point so I can make cloth stuff, but also cause I keep seeing people here post chaos mutations n shi using it,, looks awesome
^That’s also it I wanna get a bit better at painting fleshy tones, starting to get metals n stuff down a bit
id love to paint some fur or fur adjacent surfaces
im kind of tired of flat panels of the marines
(especially since i keep overwashing them)
Fun fact about UV reactive colors. They fade very quickly and hobby companies put fluos into their for this reason.
Is all that stuff just a fad/video fodder type thing or is there an alternative that is longer lasting?
I wouldnt call it a fad or video fodder as people genuinely do enjoy the colors, but there is no real alternative to some of them. Some of them have very good alternatives. Yellows and oranges have stable ones as an example, but the rest of the colors dont really have them
The yellow you wont find anywhere other than safety equipment currently and the orange is just po43 perinone orange, you can find it from some artist acrylic brands
sometimes listed as vat orange
Is that just like a desire/demand thing or like a pigment quality that makes it not possible for certain colors
Cleannnnnn
Too clean imo. I feel like you need hue shifts in the darker areas towards red. And leave the brightest yellow for the highest points
Looks like a Joytoy figurine but I dig it
to be fair, the camera does not like the white armour, and kinda shits the bed a little
Got it to focus on the white instead of the yellow this time
I just really like how you did the eye visors, a nice eyeliner like outline
By the throne
Yeah first company IF puts a lot of bright colours together which likes to make cmaera lighting not have fun
the little bits of yellow paint on the tactical rock set off my OCD… but otherwise, really good job!
I haven’t decided on what to do for the bases yet, that’s why it’s like that for now
Like a hyperfixation phoenix I rise from the ashes and return to this godforsaken hobby once more
its more of a physics thing
the more a pigment interacts with UV the more its atoms move which causes color loss
or something like that
Good to see youre still around
Not dead yet!
Just missing our beloved astropliff
Looking fly
40k version of a window wiper, too many bugs/body parts on your tank just shoot em off
Mini of the month with a headswap
Definitely going to strip this model but I at least wanted to try to practice blending, did not go well

Thats sick
This hobby is going to kill me someday
Hot diggity damn. Lol
random ass canister of abaddon black my beloved
The one I currently have dried up because the stupid lid couldn't close correctly :(
there's ways to fix dried up paints I believe
saw many tutorials online
have you tried them yet?
That's not an option for me rn so its just easier for me to get a replacement bottle
ah I see
Yknow I find it weird GW didnt do a ton for Rogue trader miniature wise, like Darktide got its own stand alone board game release and Space marine 2 got captian titus and its own boxed release as well as a mode in kill team,
I would have eaten up a rogue trader theme kill team
THAT ARENT STARSTRIDERS, ill make that clear
what do you mean by rogue trader themed kt if not the rogue trader entourage then
Im not a huge fan of the star striders, none of their models really pop except for the death cult one
Friend suggested salamanders and I think it might just work
Also i gotta say that grenade smoke is the coolest shit ever
paying GW price on characters feels especially wrong to me
thats more than an entire squad of some kits costs
💀
I want them now
I don't wanna wait for them to go on sale somewhere else
Execrator and Emperor's Champion
I really think combining the Champion with 5 Sword Brethren is gonna be an effective combo
You can get black from apple barrel and it'll be similar to abaddon black if you want to save money
actually think the plasma turned out beatifully on this one
Washed and based
Okay thankfully I found a proxy for the rouge trader in the starstriders kill team
Now THATS a rogue trader
FIST
they aren't my favourite thing to paint, but i painted a marine
FUCK painting dreadnoughts
New breakthrough,, I’m leerrrrnninggg
Painting yellow over black? A braver man than i
Bismuth yellow. It's a life saver
I love rats!!!
Fair. I won't ever paint bad moons because I hate orks.
All this time and you're still uncultured
Yes very
Then again I lost my liking of 40k because of the shit he keeps doing and the price hikes
Printer goes brr
Its an old GW mini from the blackstone fortress box
oh
Funny enough prices near me actually went down, they were selling kill team boxes for like 80 last year now they're 55
They are selling knights near me for $200 a box
Which is out of my budget
Christ almighty now thats price gouging
That's the official price now for them
My GW store is in a fairly high traffic area so I feel they can afford to keep their prices lol
Whats a good way to thin my paints
With distilled water, tap water makes it crack after a few years
The secret is, just moisten your brush. That's thin enough when you're just starting out.
as a custodes main, i feel you sibling
Also a custodes main and i agree
Good start, but that yellow went down thick and sloppy and you lost detail because of it. You need to water down your paints and apply them slower, in multiple layers, with more precision. Additionally, I would recommend 3 different shades for each color you add to a model. Start with a base color, add a darker oil to settle into the corners and recessed areas, then dry brush a lighter color to highlight the raised areas. And for very intricate, highly detailed models, it's best to try and paint the model unassembled.
Feed him orphans
love the glowy veins!
kind of looks like hes made of greenstuff
From the Imperial World of Green Stuff World
is there any chaos knight player here ? if yes i have a weird question, how much fun is it to play on focusing on wardogs ? (and their variant)
not like a meta perspective, just fun in general
Does anybody know when the new votann models are available to buy in Amazon?
Why the white helmets?
So after coming back to the hobby and busting out my old citadel paints I've decided to migrate away from the range, even though some are less than a year old they dont keep, at all, some like abbadon black became a solid block of pigment and some like deepkin flesh and wraithbone became a clunpy gloopy mess no matter how much I shake them. This weekend im stopping at a store that has paints from a huge range, but what im specifically interested in is pro acryl, ive used their ivory, bold titanium white, and dark silver and I LOVE the coverage they provide, from anyone who's used them before what are some other pro acryl paints I should pick up?
Finally some sword brethren done...
where i can post my work that is miniature but its not Warhammer?
Gonna try painting my admech kill team, looks simple enough but im still kinda nervous painting the white cog markings
People don't mind if you post here anyway.
WIP
Building an eradicator unit and I'm planning to build the sergeant as the variant where he's looking at the wrist screen as shown here. I want to paint a glow effect later to simulate the light from the screen, and I also want to try some zenith priming with this model. I know most people spray their primer from above when doing that, but in my case, would it make more sense to do a zenith prime in the direction that the light from the screen would be shining?
you'd probably want the display to not be the only source of light I reckon? In that case just do an overall zenithal and do a separate effect from the display afterwards
Thank you
Accidentally used too much sprue goo for the arm and it got on the chest emblem, hopefully its not too noticable
HE IS HOBBYING AGAIN
I have broken containment, I bought 5 new kill teams, the wife doesn't know
Im so excited to see them
Whenever I paint an ork I thinks of me beloved 💜
I wish there were more ork kill teams, I sold my wrecka krew a few months back. I may buy them again just to paint them again
But the backlog on my desk now is Goremongers, Sanctifiers, hunter clade (10 skitarii 5 ruststalkers), hand of the archon, euclidian starstriders, farstalker kinband
Aren't there like 3
There's 2, and I think only the astra militarum has more
I think there's only 2 right now . Kommandos and wrecka krew
I think the count right now is orks have 2, eldar have 3, drukhari have 2, votann have 2, chaos has 5, imperium has 5, astartes have 3, chaos marines have 4, GSC have 2, admech have 2, tau have 3,Guard has 4, tyranids have 1, necrons have 1
Crons boutta have 2
HE'S PULLING HIS PAINTS OUT
Can anyone show me some alternative paint jobs for custodes
I really want some custodes but I don’t want to paint them golden
I saw one with white armour that looked suuuper dope, but I don't remember where lol
Necron my beloved
Solar Watch?
I know what kind of man you are
Sailing the seven seas ain’t we
Thanks tho
Thats looking good
Imperial Guard commander and primaris psyker
Where did you got that image from?
from a friend who has her ear to the ground on certain things
She also showed me some leaks with some Chaos boys. Nightlords to be specific
it was in some spanish magazine wasint it?
new sororitas and night lords kill teams
with jetpacks
Yup
Yeah
the model got leaked, so gw revealed it anyway. Post where this image came from says 2026
Quick, hide the Aeldari infants!!
Omg if this is actually happening they have to do the other 2 as well
I'll run a list with all 4 C'tan🔥🔥
Void dragon, Nightbringer, Deceiver and Trancendant C'tan pulling up on a T'au strike force
So how much does it matter what weapons i put on squads like, should I be giving almost all my Pathfinders one weapon type or?
Depends. Some squads I would all gove the same weapon, but others I would give the variations
It also really doesn't matter. If someone doesn't allow you to use one weapon, even if the model has one of the other options, they're not worth playing in my opinion
WYSIWYG is BS
Some poor GW employee about to get fired
That's sick though, I'm super excited
Yoo I finally have image perms🔥
Aight cool, i think I'm gonna do something like 5 Pulse Carbines, 3 Rail Rifles and 2 Ion Rifles for my pathfinders, I don't think the Breacher Team has any other option than Pulse Blasters
I have a 10 man space marine scout squad where like 7 have unique weapons, so just use them however you want
I think it's a little different if you're using an Imperial Knight or something, but they don't have that much customisation anyways
My two pride and joys. Just thought I'd share the happiness Imperial Titans bring
Oh i just realized I only get 3 rail Rifles so I literally can't do more than 3
3 is better than 0 haha
Pathfinders also get drones right?
T'au are so cool. T'au hate is forced
Based, bought the Necron patrol next week, but they're not fully painted yet since I'm not at home
I have yet to actually play but I hear Rail Rifles are pretty damn scary
Sneeze on it and it'll be perfect
fr fr
I heard they can one shot terminators which is really funny
Me watching as my Imperial Knight gets vaporised from 72" away by a T'au rail cannon
If you roll well they can kill much bigger targets than that
Never had the pleasure of playing against T'au before, but I love the goofy little blue fish bovine mashups
Idk why people keep calling them fish they have basically zero fish like features
Aside from being blue
Literally all their stuff is named after aquatic animals
Their vehicles are but just because the Covenants vehicles are named after ghosts and stuff doesn't mean they're ghosts
Well they are scary to normal people so yes they are
And can dissapear
I find them hot ngl
I'm a xenos sympathiser, sue me
I mean the elites fair enough but the others
Yeah I gathered it would considering they both look like fish
Ugly
Stupid
Probably blue
I'm falling for the propaganda bro, I can't lie
The propaganda makes them look like herobrine
Most sane command block creation
I think the only way to live a remotely safe and prosperous life in the 40k universe is to either be born as nobility or defect to the T'au
I could not care less about the brainwashing, at least I won't have to live on an Imperium planet
Anyway peak army (half the marines are being worked on)
What chapter?
They're very dark blue, I kinda dig it
Alligns more with the 30k look for the Ultra Marines
They are a lot brighter in normal light
And we all know 30k astartes have way more drip than 40k ones
Almost none of those are actually fully painted
