Then I gave it a watery sort-of highlight of Emperor's Children. Pink Horror would also work

the highlight was too watery so I rolled with it and sort of half-assed a glaze to give the flesh some colour differentiation

all the teeth are picked out with wraithbone, nothing else done to it

then a coat of ardcoat to give it a fleshy, slimy feel

I use wraithbone primer for yellow but it's hard with jormungandr with it being half and half black and yellow

primarily because the black wqas done with black legion contrast, it provided a bit of highlighting naturally

or spot-spray the yellow carapace to help keep the rest black

the is an easy way to fix that. if you have a little jar of the tamiya thin plastic glue drop a few pieces of gray sprue into it. the plastic melts into it creating a slurry that will dry as solid plastic you can even use a little 1 dollar epoxy nozzle from any hardware store to apply it really precisely and inject it into cracks like that.

Usually people would go to paintingstudio to do private commissions for them is what im understanding rn.

The moment your plastic is cut out of the sprue the only thing that matters is whether that plastic model is rare or whether its been kitbashed nicely.

I think if any one is a good at putty/greenstuff scuplt kitbash one can offer to do that instead of painting a model. Sculpting cape, mask, details as such is a nice way to sell your skills as well.

Yea like 95% of the time if someone buys a painted model online, they're going to strip and repaint it themselves.

Kitbashing is the only one I've seen which really increases a models value over being on sprue, but you have to be quite good at it.

Depends on the style you're going for tbh, they're generally much brighter and much easier to blend with than regular paints and they do take some of the tedium out of thinning your paints and maintaining a wet pallet

I use them more than most other paints bc my Thousand Sons are a successor warband who have a really over the top colourful theme and contrasts "Pop" harder imo

They're also just solid for base coating, kinda similar to airbrushing a base colour before you put paint everywhere else

They're also really good for making glowing and magic effects without an airbrush

They're pretty shitty for detail work that's not just filling recesses, they can struggle with any kind of large flat area or panel that doesn't have anywhere for the excess paint to run and can be a little bit like inks and washes where you wanna be careful not to pool too much on or disturb the paint too much as it dries

Is army painter white spray primer extraordinarily resilient? I used it for zen highlighting on a few models I stripped and it is being pretty persistent against 24 hours~ in simple green

Primer almost always leaves stains behind on models, scrape with a toothbrush but you’re prob not gonna get all of it off. White primer is also harder to get off in my experience

I think it pulled all the grey off, but ts hard to tell because grey. I think I'll let it soak for another day, then get most of it off with toothpicks and brush

Bloody hell, 24 hours? I use biostrip and so far i have gotten good results. It only takes 30 mins to strip something. Though i have heard some horror stories of people leaving their models in it for hours and their models getting goopafied. The only strange thing that ive noticed is that it stained the plastic white after letting it dry on accident. But besides that its really good. (Then again i have never actually used anything else)

Depending on your final goal and how you sprayed it, primers are very thin. So you should be able to just paint over it/ prime over it and it should be fine. (i dont really know what im talking about so prob just ignore me)

Ok, so from my very minimal research and general lack of intellect i have come to a conclusion that its not amazing at stripping paint.

I just watched a vid of a guy keeping his mini in for 24 hours and some of the paint still stayed on

My advice would be to maybe go for isopropyl alcohol. Ive used that once and it did a very good job. To my knowledge it also has nearly no affect on plastic. Ive also seen other youtube ppl recommend it.

It also should be widely available.

The chemical companies I work with

I'm an MSA in the coatings industry. I mostly do regulatory testing

The auto industry controls most of the pigments and PR9 seems to be getting lower and lower sales these days

It fades too quickly for the auto industry and we have better pigments that are more stable but they cost more currently but the price is dropping quickly

Hobby paints use a lot of zinc, kaolin and chalk in their whites which makes it harder to use

and this is because they get their white paints from the industrial market

which really isnt that much different in terms of total cost

the 1oz bottles are like $5.75 or so

its all about thinning the paint and avoid clumping the paint.

Corax white dry very fast, if you disturb the clump while it is drying it will destroy the texture.

White Scar is even more extreme.

Use Ulthuan Grey

or whatever other brands suits you better

its about the actual chemistry of those paints and less about thinning them as they still use kaolin which should never be used for artistry things
