Most hobby paints use dyes in additon to pigments, a lot of metallics use dyes to tint the metal paints because its way easier and cheaper with way less margin for error

It's a Stratagem so you can use it on any unit with the Psyker keyword, you don't need any sorcerers involved since the Rubrics have the Psyker keyword already, but if you attached a Sorcerer to the squad and used the Stratagem on that squad it would effect both the Rubrics and the Sorcerer because while the Hero is attached it counts as a the same unit.

Nah I'm mostly just struggling to understand how rules are written bc I come from a videogame background and so much tabletop stuff doesn't translate neatly, I assumed that all of our psychic stuff needed an active caster to use bc that's how the cabal spells generally work

Yea I get that, Stratagems are pretty easy though once you get your head around it, they'll usually be quite clear with which units they effect or can be used. So what it says on the card is usually all you have to worry about.

It sort of all comes down to CP cost, correct phase and correct unit.

So in that case it's requirements come down to: 1 Command point to use this ability, you can only use it in the shooting phase and it can only be used on a unit with the Psyker keyword that hasn't shot yet in this shooting phase.

and if on the website I think if you hover over where it says "Thousand Sons Psyker" it should give you a list of all the units with the correct keyword.

Oh so I can pop this strat immediately before taking shots if I want, like provided I have the CP and had like 3 squads of rubrics: I could buff all 3 to try and focus something down, but I don't have to activate all 3 buffs at the same time?

Yes you pop it before shooting to give a temporary buff, and while you can use multiple stratagems in the same phase, no you can’t use the same stratagem multiple times in the same phase.

little unsolicited tip but you know, its me and i can be a bit much at times, when taking a picture avoid having a background thats brighly colors lights like the purple light from your mouse pad and mouse, it draws the eye so much it distracts heavily from your work and so one would mostly focus on the light. It will also screw with the focus on cameras so your photos will come out a little more blurry than they should and/or screw with the color balance if you have things set up on auto(like using a phone)

putting something as simple as something like cardboard behind it can help a lot

Yeah, you know I never mean anything maliciously and I try not to comment on people's work because I have a tendency to make people feel bad.

With the cloak, you're kind of limited in what you can do but also not, limited in the sense of what would make sense.
If personally go with something like a darker grey most like charcoal or something like a WWII British camo green.

But you can do a lot, to me it would have to be darker so you get that chroma contrast

Citadel uses Space Marines for their tutorials for more than just branding it seems. Drukhari and Sisters are just so tiny and spiky!

@floral wind when I built my death core of kreg lemon russes I put them on the right hand side in front of the side sponsors. there's a panel line with a bunch of rivets that runs up the side. I put mine 4mm or 5mm gapped up the side of that so they were sitting on top of or close to the rivets

The purple is contrast paint magos purple. It created an interesting effect I’m not 100% happy with. Could do the superior in a different purple and shade/highlight without the contrast.

Their habits are in white, but the superior is currently Wraithbone as I used that for base color on her. The white primer I used on the other models was a bit odd.

Apparently people used to come in, grab the sprue and then have an easy resell on Ebay, whereas if they have to sit in the store and assemble it there they will get less money for it on Ebay than if it was the sprue unassembled, so they're less likely to do it.

I can back this. A friend and me traded minis once and that was the day i realized that mini construction standards are very different between individuals.

Yep even with identical minis with no alternate parts, there will be differences in pose, in how the model has been cut, cleaned, sanded or glued.

Plus if you get multiple versions of the free mini still all on the sprue, you can use whatever techniques and spare bits you have to make them all seem unique.
