Start with a very light gray, rather than one of the whites as your primary color. Ulthuan Grey is a good color for this if you're using GW paints

Tbh this is a thing that is now evolving for a time... In Leviathan box the minis are made to stick together... there is not really glue or anything like that needed to assemble those minis... Kitbashing makes this harder... or also by LoV, most models can't really get any other pose by how GW made those minis... but they still look sick...

The kits are the same as the one you would buy seperately, so it depends. I wouldn't recommend building them according to combat patrol loadouts though.

For example, eldar farseer is monopose, but the wraithlord has some posing options. Both can be bought as standalone kits.

So, second time using an airbrush (zandri dust over black primer), and I'm happy with the guardian windrider jetbike pieces, as well as the wraithlord sword, only minor issue is missed moldlines. With the wraithlord and guardians, I have much more mixed results. Similar coverage in places, but I couldn't control the overspray. Any tips? Also, is it normal for the paint to come out somewhat splotchy, but quite wet?

I have an interview that im editing, just been dealing with other things

Please could someone give me some tips for using white. (i'm using ulthan grey) and im painting a veterans helmet. I've painted it once but had to strip it because I wasn't happy with the coat. I really want a fairly smooth coat but it behaves so much differently than any other paint. I also used a very small brush to apply it so that might have been the issue but im afraid a larger brush might cover up the details

Also when applying the paint, is it supposed to be watery or not?

small brushes are a trap, the paint often dries on the brush before you can apply it

I like corax white as an off white base coat, just mix it as much as you can

and apply it really thin and in multiple layers for smooth finish

pro acryl bold titanium white is really good to highlight on top of that

So heres what I had to do to get all hobby white paints to work correctly, including proacryl bold titanium(which btw, flakes off in arch testing meaning its not a stable paint, over 50 bottles were tested)

Thin is down 5:1, apply roughly 30 coats, wait 5 minutes between each coat

I avoid those products like the plague, I stick to golden high flow titanium white

the issue with them is they add so much chalk and zinc to them to stabilize the paint

titanium dioxide is a very unstable pigment and doing the correct method is A) expensive B) requires proper machining C) years of testing it in very harsh conditions

white hobby paints need to be incredibly watery

spray cans will always have that issue, zandri dust spray is a mixed bag because it uses uses white pigmens which are not great unless you have a climate and moisture controlled workspace, so yes its normal

It was 20psi, thinning it with vallejo airbrush thinner, there is a moisture trap on the compressor, airbrush is a HBM BD 116 C

Thinning the "airbrush" zandri dust in a small metallic well using brush, then pouring into the cup

roughly 2 parts paint to 1 part thinner

if you're having to use flow improver for the paint to work, that means the paint shouldnt be airbrushed as its particle size is too large or its garbage paint
