First of all
Nerd
facts
Second of all
I genuinely think that is a really interesting side of art conservation and I love seeing the backstage of all art museum
However
We talking about gigangtic nerds painting space orks, blue cow communist, and Gorilla in blue suit of armors
Speaking of which
Making progress
I'm still going to tell people the correct information so they know better not to listen to a community of people who think non-toxic means edible, when lead and arsenic paints are legally non-toxic when put into an acrylic binder
we dont have enough ork posts here
I think I am the biggest ork poster in this Channel
Rarely Seen any, and I am usually the one posting 'em
Feeling proud of meself
Bruh I'm over here making straight Lines and you is over there integrating functioning light to your knight
That's it, I'm grouping up a WAAGH to get your ass
I did mention I had a doctorate in art so everything I do is wildly extra, right?

sounds fun
I even milled out metal barrels for the guns on the knights because I wanted more flair
Anyway, good night and have with your extra fancy knight
my armigers also have leds...
I umm... dont know restraint
that orange tone? yeah thats an extinct pigment known as PO49
literally being stupid with this entire project
but im having fun
I think I came in here at the right time. This is amazing. One of my uncles is an illustrator and in mine and my family's possession are some oil paintings that he did 30-40 years ago. fantasy/sci-fi kind of stuff, a lot of his work served as magazine covers. As I type this from my basement office, I'm reminded I should probably hook up my dehumidifier for the season
Yes, you should
I may pick your brain on that someday, but for now I'll just monitor all the mini-paint talk and be a good sponge
feel free, I do actually have some mini painting content that uses my background as a base
its very long format and very boring
to me at least
most of it is me complaining about companies scaming you all
I still will never forgive scalecolor for selling ultramarine blue as fluo and claiming that its fluorescent in certain situations when its only fluo if you mix fluo into it
and then the blue will block off UV interaction so the glow effect is heavily diminished to the point its barely there
I hate hobby companies...
preying on the ignorant to make them seem like they are these gods gift to art
when its mostly snake oil
You might enjoy the naming of these then.
oh and those paints are fucking dogwater too... I tried them and they are insanely low pigmentation, its mostly just chemical thickener being used to deceive the hobby community
they need to list the cobalt blue as hue
like, legally too
I like them, they behave like I want them to.
its false marketing for one
I don't get why they add violet pigments in the blue though, but oh well
well PV15 specifically is a weird one
let me grab my pv15 stash and show you what it is
Ultramarine blue would be best off with only ultramarine blue pigment, no? Or is it not very lightfast or opaque?
neither are opaque pigments
Yeah, then idk. Cheaper maybe?
They're not super opaque
Then just use the blue pigment in the blue colour?
In the blue paint rather.
well the PV15 is very light
and when you blend them you do get a lighter blue
but only in small doeses
But they have a darker ultramarine as well, with the same pigments
its a sign however thats a red shade ultramarine blue
that creates more questions
thats ultramarine blue and violet
Third from the bottom on the right side is gorgeous
some versions are hard to get and scalecolor is actually banned from purchasing pigments with some of the larger chemical suppliers
They are? O.o
yeah
long story I cant get fully into, but they've been caught doing and saying very sketchy things
Sadly doesn't surprise me
one of the things they said was a very nasty implication towards a pigment manufactuer and claiming they made all of their own pigments
which, they dont
Well no, obviously, they just make their own goo to mix with pigments
Or mix their own goo, probably
I'd be very surprised if there are more than a handful of manufacturers of pigments
I mean they just use a vast basic 10% solids count polyvinyl alcohol emulsion
Whatever it is the paint is nice to work with :>
there are 6 large ones, 20 small ones, 400~ indepentants like myself and then a few thousand hobbiests
Yeah, that sounds about right.
I'd love to get real artist colours, but they're so expensive ;-;
brazil, right?
I am spacing out on the country
Sweden
I would say close, but uh, it's pretty far.
there are 3 countries where paint is very expensive due to import fees and no local production
sweden, brazil, new zealand
Not sure Sweden is it since internal market in the eu
its the shipping costs
Sure, but bulk shipping shouldn't add more than me ordering from Germany or France or (previously) UK.
I'll have to look into the sweden thing more, unless im confusing it with norway again
which, I actually do a lot
Thanks. I have zero painting experience so I don't want to commit any large amount of money to the hobby and was wondering if I could "recycle" a sacrifice model in the name of practice.
Probably, Norway isn't in the EU, so it could be a bit different
yes you can, use something like LA's totally awesome to do it
probably thinking of norway. I have no idea why I constantly confuse those two
their flags arent even similar
At least it's not confusing Sweden with Switzerland
no, but I do keep thinking ikea is from there
heh
Well, getting better paints is a long term project, for now I'll just continue having fun painting.
thats all that matters
I can show you what my paints are like
but getting into the professional grade side of things is a learning experience
and honestly throws a lot of what you know on its head about painting
If I do swap I'll go for something like golden fluid or schminke hb
I'd love something with the vibrance of oils, but they're a bit of a pain to work with.
that will be very hard with acrylics honestly
golden and schminke are both good for that though
Yeah, I know. I'm hoping they make some magical breakthrough before I need to replace my paints again. (Read: before I have more money set aside to spend on paint.)
i wish, unfortunatelty there is one thing standing in their way and thats chemistry
Yeah, I figured.
Also looking for a goldilocks metallic. Been interested in the darkstar stuff (molten metal I believe) but finding someone who carries it has been a pain. Fortunately my scale75s should still be good if I shake them a bunch.
Idk, the finish looks a bit rough to me. Could be the pictures/surface though. I'm sure the paint itself is excellent.
its actually smooth, its looks rough because its metal pigment
problem with it is that it can expire quiet quickly
I'll probably stick with model paints, that's where I feel hobby paints perform better.
Exception might be some of the goldleafing paints, haven't had a chance to try them out.
thats what lascaux are
I'll have to look at them being used somewhere then, the photos on the website were not amazing.
the professional grade metallics do technically out perform hobby metallics, the issue is there are very few brands that make them
I don't care about technically, I just want it to look pretty
i screwed up slightly with it in that picture
Yeah, it has that pitted texture a lot of metallics get
yep, thats how real metal metallics work
mica is the uber smooth one but no brand does them correctly because they all have that rainbow glitter effect
with golds specifically
the silvers for lascaux arent pitted looking, just the gold is, which is what im after
Yeah, but I can get at least very similar results, if not better, with hobby metallics
i havent gotten anything better personally
I have scale 75 and darkstar here, they dont reflect correctly nor do they apply as easily, above is one coat
and that was thinned by roughly 50%
in still looking for a gold that looks gold and is smooth
unforunately, even gold electroplating looks like the picture above
when on plastic
There's no gold version of the molotow chrome?
It'll be a polished look, but could work
Nothing that is durable that can be varnished
I can do one, but the second you breathe on it it loses all luster
Fair
Actual gold leafing? Or with the imitation foil
Also, supposedly you can polish the darkstar ones
you cant
its acrylic and rubs off easily
i tried it, they overloaded the binder to it will flake off at some point too
like, if you thin them its a death sentence for them
im actually talking to the company about how to prove their paint as they have no idea how bad flaking mica is for health
I believe they took an existing paint and repackaged it for minis
But I haven't found the og yet
they probably did, the conversations ive had with them sort of allude to that
most mini companies do this
its what army painter does
Don't the faq or about me on their webpage say as much?
I know one company, not saying which, takes professional grade stuff, golden high flow medium, then cuts the actual paint down by 70% with the medium and markets it as an airbrush paint
i dont think they do
they dont but they do have a ton of stock photos on their webpage and claim its their paint
oof
thats not a good sign
no paint company worth their salt will say "you can use tap water"
hell vallejo says not to use tap water
No, they only had the bit about the paint being buffable. The other must've been an interview or something
the buffable is a marketing bullshit again
its "you can rub this with a soft cloth to clean off the residue that comes from our paints"
"because we use a gloss medium"
Nice
I was tryna find my csm and uh
I instead found my pile of shame
A whole fucking Crawler
What's your opinion on GSW's "true metallic" line? Probably not the quality you're looking for.
this line is actually factually wrong as they contain zinc, which can actually lead to deal due to how it you know... burns your skin and if swallows can burn your insides
the water can also not be dumped down the sink
I'll be honest, I don't expect them to be actual pure copper/gold dust, or for them to be edible. My question was more about whether you have an opinion on them as a paint (colour, ease of use, longevity) rather than their safety/authenticity.
I like their combination with the gsw oxydiser (which have to be sealed afterwards, of course).
Also, @plush swift , golden high flow for yellows? If I want a different shade, do I need to mix it with another high flow, or what?
I mean the pigment is similar to what I use
I just use a finer grind, I am also not 100% on what metal they use, I just assume they purchase it from one company I know
You can use highflows to thin down paint, so no
Yalls hobby is more paint mixing then actually painting??
No, mixing also doesnt take long
Not necessarily minis but still neat lol
That's some heretical shit right there.
Give me the sororita and skitarii
And tell me where you got them from

they are japan imports. I bought the entire set two years ago for $20~, now they are $20+ each
oh shit, i found a few of them for dirt cheap just now
They also have the second wave of the chibi ones for sale on GW's site atm too.
I don't like those as much, but I'll probably buy the.
Series 2 models don’t look great
I like the beaky boi one but that's the only series 2 one I like.
Any suggestions on keep dry brushes from flaring out? Should I cut the bristles down?
That's even better brother, means you can get a bigger area
Get makeup brushes if you want detail dry brushing
Amazon is the best place to get bulk makeup brushes
Mm okay. I’ve noticed for dry brushing my tanks it’s good but for my guard it’s… difficult
Yeah, look at getting hold of makeup brushes for dry brushing
Best things I brought
I’m guessing they’re the rounded end kind?
Finally got a blade effect I was happy with
what kind of brushes are they?
specifically
Just some really crappy 3 dollar flatbrushes
yeah those will curl, no point in saving them
Figured as much, just wanted to verify before shrugging it off
if you need need to save a brush like that though, boil some water, let the brushes soak in it for a few seconds, then dip them in gum arabic
Gotcha
Also camo pattern wise, do people recommend going diagonally (45 degrees) across a vehicle, front to back at a slight angle (More like 60 degrees) or flatter from left to right (closer to 30 degrees)?
put them in the jar
depends on the style of camo, but ultimately it is entirely what you think looks good
Fair
The cosmic arm
Impressive!
I plan to paint eldar cosmic scheme. So i want to test with a spare arm i have left lol. But cosmic space marine does sound cool.
look at you, 5 months ago you were failing to paint straight lines and screwing up washes, now you're doing free hand that doesnt look like a kindergartener did it. congrats
One more obliterator and a venomcrawler to go for 500 points of these guys!
I have made, what I will humbly preclaim to be
The orkiest mini
Because I have fucked the making off it, I cannot unglue the part I fucked up because it was too late when I discovered I fucked up
So like, I had to makeshift things into place, do some instentanious kitbashing to make it work and somehow it looks pretty good and the result fit together
Still a WIP but
A kitbash between the cadia box the Horus herecy age og darkness box and the old astra militarum HW squad, my friend is playing Tyranids so I thought why not make my boys look like they are a special unit me t to gent of the kritters.
I think that looks pretty cool
My move is complete so now I have set up my little men
Horus Heresy shelf may look barren but I just bought the 20 pack of HH era space marines
Would this count as a kit bash? Thought the invictor looked a bit bland for space wolves so slapped some dread bits onto it.
thin your paints friend
and any modification to a model is a kitbash
I've been trying but cant find a good in-between
1:1
I mean I did with the stuff I added, you see the invictor was one of my first models so the stuff I added was thinned (to the best of my ability)
Kitbashed a connector between my Riptide Smart Missile pods using a spare gun drone connector and an antenna. The normal connector they want you to use is a lot thinner so doesn't work as well for magnetising as well as doubling as other wargear which I want to be able to model. Happy with how it turned out!
Looks pretty sweet mounted now
what paints are you using?
I can tell you exact ratios the binder the company uses can support
thats weirdly enough, not thin enough
most painters use 3:1. I dont thin personally
this is what it’s gotten me
no point for me because I use inks and high grade paints that dont leave brush strokes
wrong image, that was the old one
the majority of this was done with unthinned heavy bodied acrylics to prove a point
the metallics I need to fix
thats a custom paint that didnt turn out right after I applied it
its immitation gold leaf in a nitrocellulose and acrylic binder
too much moisture got into it
would not recommend using heavy bodied btw, getting smooth with them is a tedious nightmare
The right 2 don't seem half bad, but the left definitely went claggy
I'm planning to buy a high quality compact airbrush. However I have never used one before and don't know where to start. Is there any important advice I need to know when using one? eg: maintenance, clogging, mistakes you guys made while using it
what do you mean by compact?
like one of those battery powered hand ones?
yeah thats just a super thin coat
Bruther how did you get such nice rust streaks
transoxides
thats what they are called, its transparent iron oxide
most of the acrylics are in there
if you cant tell, I dont use cheap paint. I only use good paint
most likely a small air compressor
honestly, most of the cheaper ones do perfectly fine, the "stealth" ones from iwata I find just are too weak at times, and having a more traditional one while taking up more space, is just better in most cases plus the tank does help with the life of the compressor
do you have any advice so that i can avoid costly mistakes when painting?
airbrushing*
I have a lot yeah, generally speaking most of it is "most of the information out there isn't great" and the only real airbrush paints that work are from professional brands like createx.
Clean the airbrush thoroughly, Don't use harsh solvents because it will melt the seals, remove the seals when you're going to use harsh solvents, etc
Createx is one of the better airbrush paints.
Where are his eyes?
so a regular paint thinner should be ok right?
I did some more testing for nebula. Looks like the blue shade really gives it a nice saturated looks. However i disliked the surface these shades gives.
time to find one for yellow
You don't need paint thinner, just use deionized or distilled water. This is literally all you need, anything else it's actually a waste of money.
If the paint has issues and you need flow improver, that is a bad paint and don't use it
It means that they paint was never made correctly with the correct balancing agents to be an airbrush paint
It's really stupid
Because really all you need? Is to not include thickening agents. But most companies don't put the correct amount of wetting agent into the paint because it's expensive and requires exact percentages, like no joke 0.001% too much or too little and your paint is bad and will just completely not work
That's where flow improver comes in It's to balance that out however not all flow improvers work with the majority of paint because of different binders doing different things
However distilled water literally just works for them all
so distilled works for citadel paints i presume
and it doesnt damage the airbrush right
Doesn't damage the airbrush, works for citadel paints
Citadel paints are a problem with trying to use flow in weird ways by the way, Because they literally have within their entire paint line two different types of paint medium. They use PVA and they also use polyurethane
I'm doing my first batch paint and ive used a airbrush to basecoat all of it. It was a god damn nightmare. My airbrush kept having issues and every time i sprayed it would be at different patterns and consistencies. I thought for the longest time that it was the nozzle tip as paint kept getting stuck there but no. It was a flap of dried paint stuck in the area that the airbush paint holder connects to. I deep cleaned that area like 5 times previously with no result so assumed it wasn't the issue. It was the issue. (I also noticed and fixed it after spraying all 10 minis) I have wasted an entire paint pot, 2 days of my life + 2 extra days going over the models with a brush to make the paint the same across all models. I have heavy trauma and am going to therapy next Monday.
That makes it sound like airbrush bad. Its not only bad but a pure sign of Satan.
Conclusion: Gets worse before it gets better
Should I add googly eyes ?
What do you think?
Daddy Nurgle won't disagree
I will take that in mind, thank you for sharing your traumatic experience
@white tangle
How did you try and clean it?
Best idea is, if you have a good airbrush. Use a sonic bath. Shits gonna be expensive at first but God damn is it good for removing paint and anything else
After every paint session I fill my brush up with thinner, remove all moving parts and block the end. Basically I melt all the paint within the brush and release later that day
nah I have a shit little airbush because i dont do any detail work yet. Just use it for basecoating but in the future i will definitely look into buying one because i cannot go through another catastrophe like that.
Also do everyone's highlights look a bit scruffy before cleanup or am I doing something wrong?
i mean it looks clean enough
much cleaner than mine thats for sure, everytime i try painting mine i always scrub the paints off
Also i got the older version, so the right knee pad is a damn flat surface. I have to paint black and highlight to make the illusion
I not gonna lie im pretty sure your highlights are cleaner than mine. Maybe its because the camera smooths mine out or something idk. Also i wear gloves so if i so much as scrape the model with my finger--paint can come off. Its pain.
Also i think i remember you saying your marines are a custom chapter. The insignia that they have on the shoulder and knee are really cool.
We are our own worse critic.
Really though I see very little wrong with that highlighting
Do you take apart the airbrush for the sonic bath, or just put the whole thing in?
Hoooo baby, that's the good stuff
That's the kinda thing I want to paint a Wraithguard in
Take it apart and only place the main body
thats my plan sir
well not wraith guard yet but maybe guardians
That's a spess mehren though
My latest death guard. Slowly getting my first army done.
Guardians are a weird one to paint IMO
It's like
One of them is borderline impossible to make look good in two-tone
The other is only good in two tone
true true im trying hard to think of a colorscheme for them
Hard for me to find good examples because I didn't notice my phone camera blurred every single fucking one of the close-ups
i dig that blue
Ye. Is a nice blue
I've decided that this scheme is the colour for the My Dudes craftworld
Blue and White
I guess mine will be a bit darker
Their Wraithguards, however...
I have a Metric Fuckton™️ more, but I don't have a cord that lets me shift stuff from my phone to my computer
It's just a charge cable
So I gotta use gmail to email myself the pictures
you can upload via discord mobile
I know, and I've been doing that
Which is a problem because I don't save from discord which is stupid of me, so I don't have all my damn work from the past two years on my computer
check this one out. Yellow and blue wash on white. Pretty neat.
How do you do this
Genuinely
How do you do it
I want to Blood Raven it
Still got more 'guard than those, but my pics were on my other phone that broke
But anyway, normal elfs get the standard scheme, Wraithguard get pimped out
clOWn
it's a bit tricky but for this one you use white to draw the nebulas. Then I use Tyrant Shade and Imperial Fist Contrast and paint them across
Wraith units are the coolest part of Aeldari aesthetic to me
If I ever go in for an army I'd make a full spirit host
I even got a Wraithseer and Spiritseer for the heck of it
Frankly, she looks a helluva lot better than the Farseer
Even the hemlock wraithfighter looks cool as
Hemlock? The green one?
Wait, nvm, that's a ship isn't it?
Yeah, it's a flier
O damn, it don't look too bad
Literally in this one
Wait just saw it lmao
That's sick
Fucked up the leg positioning, which is why I have real, actual rocks on the base
So it looks less like I fucked up and made a Tactically Genius move
I just finished assembling my Riptide model with all options magnetised
I really should look into getting some things magnetized
Still unsure what I'm doing with the base
Probably just some big woodchips painted as rocks, with sand like my other bases
Oooo, that sounds fun actually
@plush swift any advice for what pigments I should be looking for to with blues that would be best for the skin? the greens/browns from the kit I've got paints for and I figure I'll be better served by making the skin pop.
I've got a few pots of various citadel blues I've used for plasma but I'll probably get some new paints for this lo
lot*
the first 10ed index is out
Just noticed it looks a lot like the helmet of rogue trader era guard
This is nice! But Waitin' for Space Marines, Black Templars and Votann stuff 🤣
Its not suprising, most of 40k is heavily inspired by Judge Dredd and other 2000ad Comics, Rogue Trooper was one of them.
Yep, good for me as I was trying to make some art of rogue trader era style guard
First time magnetizing sponsons on a tank. A lot easier than I expected.
Doing something similar with my Squats. Mainly RT models and a few unreleased 2nd edition Squats +1980s dwarfs
RT guard still pop up on ebay, prices usually not too bad
Anyone have a favorite “piece” to build? I always save space marine backpacks for last, they are quite satisfying to paint IMO
I thought some blue pigments were significantly more expensive than other colours. The same issue for the correct tint of blue for leds
Be careful, with leds there are a lot of scammers using a blend of pigments to get close to it, or use a different pigment that differs from what is advertised
Same issue with paints in general. Pure pigment paints cost a lot more, often you only see the difference when blending or layering
Not really, most are the cheapest pigments on the market. Anthraquinone is really the only super pricey one these days outside of things like cobalt pigments
no such thing as pure pigment paints, if they market them as such, dont buy them. Its a scam or just bad.
If you mean single pigment, then no they actually dont. A lot are around $11~ for a 118ml
Yeah single instead of pure. Not many brands offer them here locally. Bought some at a store that cathers to art academy students
I'll look up the blue I mean, it's about 7 to 12x the price of the avarage pigment
I mean I have a blue that costed me $30,000 for a kg, but thats a very different story
a lot of the natural ones are expensive, but mostly because its rare and outside of collectors, there isnt much demand for them since synthetics perform better and are way cheaper
Not really a reason to use lapis lazuli these days when pb29 ultramarine looks almost identical, costs nothing to make, can be changed in color easily, and just over all performs better
And as an added benefit, you're not funding the taliban
this isnt as much as you would think btw, the average pigment is like $6-10 a kg. That would just be in the range of anthraquinone
Pretend I'm an idiot, in fact, don't pretend.
What dis?
I was really hoping the mongoose minis for the RT game would have been produced but AFAIK it never got anywhere after kickstarter.
Danke starch.
its kind of rare and hard to find, give me a few and I can open up a tool that will tell you pigment blends on a color
More common suggestions/alternatives are welcome, I'm heading to my local Jacksons art supply tomorrow. I can always go slightly more blue than the above.
Also mercifully I can just paint the eyes white and it'll be on brand.
and then you just change the variables like bone black and phthalo green
another version
getting that exact color is a little tricky
I can always go more cyan.
Saving these, especially the lightest shade on the 3rd.
https://goldenpaints.com/mixer this tool can help a ton
just make sure to set the pallet correctly
I'll probably test a few arms, see what I like the finished look of.
But once I find a mix, I'm gonna use it for the whole army.
Cheers!
No problem
I will highly recommend golden high flow white btw
its the easiest white to use on the market
Is that just a Ti white with pre-mixed flow enhancer/aid?
Ah nvm, they do a Ti white in the range. Gotcha.
you dont want pre-mixed flow improver paint
golden just doesnt add thickening agent to the paint
so its more ink like
Also quick sanity check, outside Golden/Jacksons products I've mostly got access to:
Winsor & Newon, Matisse, Global, Chromacryl, Atellier, Chroma and A2 brands. Any I should look at more strongly or avoid?
As in, thats what my local Jacksons has on the shelf so I can just pick them up instead of ordering them online.
I'm in Australia so IDK if many are local only brands.
I dont know A2 or global very well, W&N I'm just not a massive fan of but its not bad just not what I like
Matisse is, and its pretty good. it tends to be a little more glossy than I normally use, and I tend to use glossier paints then just throw a varnish over them later
is Cerulean blue deep distinct from Cerulean Blue?
I can get Cerulean Blue, or Cobalt Turquoise... I can also get a Pthaltho Green, its cheaper than the CB or CT.
or I can get Cerulean Blue hue from Golden.

yes. however I would avoid cobalt pigments as a whole, they are genuinely toxic
I mean I have PPE if need be, I'm set up for resin printing, just waiting on my printer.
And uh, a few boxes of 6001 cartridges went missing when I was made redundant at my old job.
I mean, as long as you dont lick your brush ever, you should be fine
just dont dump the rinse water down the sink
it will actually poison wildlife in small amounts
Yeah thats fine, I've got a drum for that shit anyway.
I separate used oil from used brake fluid/solvents/hydraulic fluid, so I can just dump it in with them when I do my recycling.
Good, you're all set then
I in general tend to lean towards the more safe side of things
I mean, if I'm already disposing of toxic resin in metho its not a big deal to dispose of my brush water and some paper at the same time.
That said, I realise I'm more well setup to handle recycling oil and solvents that most. I've got 4x drums dedicated to it so I can start one while the others are full or out getting emptied and have forklift tines for my tractor so I can just put them on my truck to take them in. so its not like I'm taking in a small quantity each time
How should you dispose of resin/other 3d print stuff and cobalt paint water? Store in seperate metal vat until full, then drive it down to a local waste facility?
pretty much
yeah you're way better equiped than most
Check with your local waste management or what have you. Regulations vary from place to place.
plus you could live in a place like I do which doesnt even have a functioning recycling system in place
land speeder tornadoe
same base size
Also same stats?! Never compared so thats why i ask ^^
well theresn't a jetbike in 40K but the weapons they give you are also the same you can give to a land speeder (minus the plasma gun)
So I strapped some HH miniguns to the front to fill in for the autocannon the land speeder has
Love a bit of counts-as.
🤔 hmm sounds legit.. Well worked out then ^^
Plus you get 3 bikes in one box for $60 versus $38 for one landspeeder. Combine that with the fact you can run landspeeders in units of 3 and you got full squad for almost 1/3 of the price of buying 3 land speeders
Unless they bring back renegade and heretis and let them bring allied chaos units. I doubt I'll ever find a decent way to field Poxwalkers, Greater Blight Drones and Pox Hounds with my Moebian 6th in a legit way.
For now I'm just planning them as Scions with Ogryn Auxillaries.
Thats a point 🤣 but i almost shop in local social discount shops... so i regularly save up to 25% money and support people with disorders also ^^
oh neat
Yup yesterday my boarding Patrol for Votann arrived... just saved 25% to the original GW price 😄
Fair enough. My guard friend found some Mechs from Avatar that hes planning to proxy as bullgryns
Currently workin on this dude
Crystals need some more work on edges and sand must be painted black/ashy
Switched gears since it doesn't look like they're doing more than one launch detatchment for each army. Gonna print some of the Reptillian Overlords Spacenam models and paint them up as Genetic Infantry from Rogue Trooper and run a Nu Earth themed Catachan Army. Still got the sentinel from Cadia stands so I just need a few more. And I can either use the FOB's or paint up my old basilisks.
Need to figure out how to do a Nu Earth themed lord Solar though. Might have to flick through some comics for inspiration.
Wraithguard heads
Hell, Wraithguard in general
Wraith constructs in general
Those helmets do look very nice
Iron Man!
there's an ironkin joke to be made there somewhere
What primer would you use if you’re using yellow contrast paints
Once i learned the weakness of my flesh, i was disgusted by it
Looks dope
Thanks! My first techpriest
Gotta finish his other bits and assemble but i think he is looking good, minus the wonky eye but thats what makes it better imho
My project atm. My friend offloaded an ork trukk onto me and hoooly fuck is it a hot mess
There’s leftover sprue still attached, a set of wheels isnt glued
tons of it just came off when i gently pulled (it was glued)
I can fix her

A few minor kitbashes, after cleaning the mold lines and sprue residue off I added an ork face to the wrecking ball for fun and cut the ramp in half since I didn’t like them.
Looks a bit like it, but it is still the meme counter offensive towards the "Angry Marines" just switched colour scheme and yeah... had to hold my promise towards my friends XD
And so the "League of Rage" was born @pine yacht
ORKS ORKS ORKS ORKS
I'll dm you something if you want,I did an over view of it
Get it dun, ladz!
Now am jealous
My trukk's a bigger mess
But is still my baby and I love it
Would an air quality of 108 affect priming?
As long as it's not too cold or humid it should be fine
Be safe though, get a respirator
Agreed, get gloves too
Yeah
I mean you should be using a respirator when priming anyway but especially in this air quality
Assuming you're in NA
Thankfully it isn’t as bad as it was yesterday or two days ago
Debating if I want to camo this up with something like dark angel green
where other factions 🤔
Hope so... Space Marine Index reads good... still waitin for Black Templars and Votann stuff tho...
But i wonder what happened with venerable Dreadnought... hasn't been in Space Marine Index....
it can, but generally only drying times
the old dread kit (single loadout) was retired and the existing venerable dreadnought kit is pretty much for the new Boxnought datasheet
My Venerable is from 2012... Had alredy options for twin linked las cannon etc...
yeah the old OLD kit was retired
So my is the "old" kit? 😄
no
some paints can be used in freezing cold without the paint being affected, but this is generally only the higher quality ones in the professional sphere fun fact
the kit that was retired had this as it's boxart and you could built it with assault cannon, lascannon, missile launcher or a fist. The venerable has all those options and more. The new rules just combine all basic boxnoughts to one datasheet
Well yeah but most people won't have primers of that level. At least nobody that I know.
Ah i see then Thanks for Info ^^
Though I do mostly just use rattle cans or my airbrush anyway
no problem
I am gonna miss the old guy though
I only ever painted one of them but I've been thinking of grabbing a Furioso dread for my 30k blood angels
Could run it as part of a castra ferrum talon
the venerable dread has a pretty indentical look as an option so it's not entirely gone
ye
Battle Patrols in 10th ed finally making sense...
Speaking of huge mechs though I got this guy mostly assembled (typhus for scale)
Just need to find my hair dryer to bend that pipe for the graviton ram
Wip of my continued addiction to death guard, a couple characters pre-shade.
Horus?
Have fun.
some light weathering, technical-typhus-corrosion is a fantastic wash for armor
It may be just a personal opinion, but corrosion is more fitting for the Death Guard.
Since, you know, chemical warfare.
It may be even a bit too much corrosion.
Looking at the barrel of that bolter makes me question its functionality.
Hecc yeah..... i found one of my first minis recently and it's just a blob of paint so defintley better than that xD
I remember my first mini
It is a clash of blue, gold, red and black in the rough shape of a space marine
Started building my Devilfish transport. The inside wall panel has these racks that perfectly fit Fire Warrior pulse rifles, so I cut a bunch of spare rifles out from my other boxes to fill the rack. Now I'm at the stage where interior needs painting before I can assemble further.
Is the inside gonna be visible or are you just adding detail?
Made sure to add an important detail to my nurgling.
Wow.
I will be magnetising all the hatches
And the finished pre shade project.
The rear hatch is a built in hinge/ramp, but the side hatches will need a little work
Somebody already ordered the Leviathan box?
They had 4 left to preorder at my local games store so I got in just in time
Which region? Europe is next availiable in some hours....
Australia:)
The preorder from GW was at 12 this afternoon for me
Yeah mine will be in about 1,5 hours 😄
Good luck legend 🤙🤙🤙 hopefully if your getting a box you can snag a copy
Hope so too... want to get the online one with the preorder stuff cuz would be nice to have an terrain mat
Yeah I wish I could have gotten those boards 😩😩😩 2 big old boards to use for combat or 2k
I like bigger boards tbh.. more tactical options 😄
I can't decide whether to go goblin green or bestial brown for my bloodbowl undead team bases
IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!
DOO DO DOOO DOO
woo!
I feel sorry for the poor guy trying to go to GW to buy like a box of gretchins for their mate
Ye... I wonder why GW is currently makin' this "only limited availiable" stuff.... Cuz' if they want to get more players they should produce enough so that there is no fomo...
Have you been to a GW store recently? They're literally running out of shelf and storage space due to diversity of products.
I don't go to my local store really and when i go i only buy paints there... Cuz' minis and stuff i mostly get from my social discount store that also give money to charity to halp disabled people....
And i have nearly to drive an hour to my next GW store by car 😄
Point is, they (store managers) already get orders every so often to destroy specific products because of low demand, to make space for new kits.
Hmm 🤔
Also lol, GW website has a queue
Ye i was on GW site on 10:45 CEST (11:00 was start for leviathan) and then i had to wait 45 min in queue in total before i could place my order.... 😄
But now a friend of mine gets half of the leviathan box cuz' he plays tyranids and i got a huge expansion for my Black Templars. Also nice is to have the extra battlefield mat.
yes, you really did. Now bathe it in a wash. Pickle it in nuln oil, you know you must
Lucky, I had to wait 2 hours
I dont have nuln oil rn
some heretics say, its just highly diluted black
Ill prolly do that next time i get paid
Did that with a brown color for the legs for some "dirt effect". Just diluted it until it was like a typical wash, works really neat, and helps for low budget painting
I think i might be a heretic then.
I believe the box came with black paint. Ill try that tonight
do it, if you're not happy, just use a clean damp brush and soak it up, works really good
Exalted champion chat
@compact umbra only sternguard used the combi-melta in models as far as im aware
Anyone done any conversions for master of possession or exalted champion?
Honestly I'd build a Old World Chaos Army before I'd do CSM or Regular Marines.
But like, the problem with that is I'd need to include models that aren't Chaos Warriors.
I could be happy with Marauders at a pinch
I'm doing an exalted champion as Savona from the Fabius bile books, she carries a power maul though and the datasheet is locked to power axe
Combi melta is fine, got one off the mark 3 armour sprue
wait, is that slambo with just one axe?
Hero Quest chaos warrior.
IDK if Slambo or HQ came first - GW made some of the minis for HQ
Well, all of the Minis
gw made the mini's for hero quest if i remember right
Yeah
sadly i only have the new version of it and the models are too... soft? don't know how to say it
the plastic is too bendy
I don't mind the heroes, I hate the rest.
The terrain is OK
I decided not to buy the re-release, I still have my OG HQ and Expansions.
my brother bought it, personally i find hero quest kind of boring to play through
HQ is a great stepping stone into D&D or other Mini games. Particularly for kids.
Or someone new to D&D, alot of people struggle to grasp like, what to do when everything is theater of the mind and you can do basically anything.
that true, but for D&D and such i also moved toward diceless systems to introduce people to it
But like, having everything laid out and a really simple set of rules makes it easay to get people started.
All their options are laid out, they don't need to imagine or think up what to do next.
And you can move on from there.
let's them familiarize well with the core of roleplay and stuff without having to worry about 200 pages of rules and books lol
also there's a local company here in italy that makes some damn bangers and sells them for like, 50 euro total
Thats fair, I had a couple that wanted to get into D&D and found it all pretty intimidating. So I broke out Hero Quest and got some players willing to sub in HQ for D&D for 3 weeks to a month and by the time we got through the game and expansions they were fine with jumping into D&D
I'm probably gonna make a custom HQ board for the increased scale, since some people have made new sculpts that actually match the original box art.
I might do a Chaos/Slaves to Darkness army after I finish my Counts-as Bretonnians though.
Lean heavy into the Death Dealer/Chaos Warrior/Skeletor Aesthetic.
They're not the OG sculpts. They're new.
One Page Rules offers them in a pack with a few variations.
Some -slight- differences from the Woloszyn Minis that were only released for a limited time.
Instead of diluting black is the agrax earthshade that came in the box a good one to use?
Yes. It's basically diluted brown, I used agrax on the right mini for the trims and overall darkening of the basecoat and after that made the dirt effect with another brown paint that I diluted. So you can use the upper body as a example in what direction agrax will go. For the bolter I used nuln oil though
Ok sweet
GRAAAA I LOVE THE IMPERIUM
thats why you buddy up with store owners, they'll "destroy" the products into your car trunk in a secret fashion
Tried out a new camo scheme for the Dorn. Thoughts?
iron warrior ⚠️
This is a good idea if a store owner is good one...
you posted a picture of your hand, not a tank
Just bribe them
Oopsie
Step 1 of working hatch complete.
silly question, wahts the thing thats wrapped around the head called again?? the cloth
the desert raiders havea lot of them
Kinda reminds me of a shemagh but not quite
A headscarf?
yeah its like almost that
HOLY SHIT THEY ADDED THE BLACK STONE FORTRESS KILTELAMS
oh
i was on the wrong pone
never mind lol
i was on the first ediiton website not the second
Kaffiyeh. Though that typically refers to midde eastern headscarves woven from wool in traditional patterns. Frequently red and white or black and white etc.
Shemagh and Ghutra are types of Kaffiyeh, but Headscarf is also accurate for lack of a more specific term.
ballen thank you
A Tuareg inspired Desert Raider army would be fun, but I'd really need some good female guard scupts for officers.
im trying to find bits of gas mask heads with the head scarfs
for the Krieg Killteam
that im making talleran
oh yeah i found a good third party one i might get and run as a character
saved
lmao
The Dark blue Tuareg scarves would be a really good accent color for Desert Raiders.
shes like 14 usd so maybe running her as uhhhh let me pull up the character
But like, you can vary it lighter/darker between characters.
I don't know anything about Desert Raiders characters if they have any.
im thinking my killteam might be red based off soem art i liked
that has a similar coat
Kewl, do Tallarn have any unique characters?
I'm doing Genetic Infantry inspired Catachans as soon as my new printer arrives. Rogue Trooper as Sly Marbo.
they do!
well
use to
its like
old hammer stuff
Fair, Catachans are fairly luck in that they've got Sly Marbo, Stracken and Harker.
I haven't figured out if I'll try and do normal humans for some of the non-fighting HQ, I can mostly just use Solar Auxillia bodies I just need heads that match the Souther Troops.
Plaguecaster secured! Such a cool sculpt/model
Lmao yeah, I heard he was a neat character but is dead af
I think the Catachans are mostly lucky that Stracken and Sly Marbo have fairly recenly refreshed sculpts. I forget if Harker had an update.
Ah NVM, its not Stracken its just another sculpt with a power fist.
Okay, so they still sell all the Catachan characters.
2/20
Just fleshtone and add a wash for simplicity
they arent if you dont use premixed colors weirdly enough, flesh dones just require orange, brown, and white in most cases. its not super hard to learn
flesh is one of those times when mixing your own colors makes the process easier
Nicely done. For the Warmaster.
What I do, any sort of screw ups, I put a bit of earthshade or blood, easier for me to hide than to undo my messes
im gonna use that
It also has the added bonus of making your guy look really beat up, which makes sense. They were stupid enough to take their helmet off
Phobos armor, my favorite
LMAO DOES TEHF UCKING GW WEBSITE HAVE BUYING GUIDES INCASE SOMETHING IOS BUSTED IN THE NEW EDITION SO YOU CAN COUNTER IT
baller af
PSA: Leviathen is still on amazon, preorders are up and it will be send on june 26th
I dont recognize this design, is this the so called ethereal i've heard about?
Nay, it's a technically-knockoff Nightbringer model.
Someone posted theirs awhile ago so I decided 'damn that's cool, I want one'
So I got one and painted it
It looked like a warframe at first, specifically "Wisp". The fanservice of the game
Brother I have played Warframe, Wisp is hardly 'the' fanservice
There is thirst for every single god damn frame.
There's thirst for Xaku, and that fucker is a literal skeleton made of space magic
Personal opinion though, Zephyr is the best and everyone else is wrong. Except for Wisp fans/simps
Havent seen warframe in a long time
Those are some lovely tones for the robes, nicely done.
I didnt paint it, just wanted show my appreciation for the phobos librarian
Ah, still, it looks nice
Yeah, although i'd go for worn brown leather instead of white
And i'd make the armor filthier, covered in sand and mud
After building so many lumineth going back to building some chonky tartaros boys is fun
3 hours of highlighting. Smallest highlight on the gun i have done yet. Gotta say it was very hard and i made alot of mistakes.
Do you guys think the small highlight of the gun fit with the big highlights on the infiltrator body?
A dash of royal gold to highlight the Ithakan silver
Wow, they look amazing
real nice 👌
Cheers!
Just finished these chaos storm troopers + command squad
Crisp, I'd put some of the greens used for the cammo on a sponge and do some chipping on the white and blue unit markings personally. Might help soften the edges a little.
Also, with how good Ratlings are looking in 10th I might have to convert some Nurglings with sniper rifles for my Moebians >.>
Yeah I plan on doing some weathering tomorrow so I’ll definitely be doing that!
Current WIP. Very much how I play DT, too 😂
Still damn weird there's no Sly Marbo mini
Finished my techpriest
that looks phenomenal. Great color scheme
Finally got around to painting a GSC model
nothing special but im proud of the work on the skin
it's only after i highlighted the skirt that i realized it'd be mostly covered with snow
i do love painting GSC though not nearly as slow or painful as i had thought
ty
didnt think all red incursors were too stealthy lol
I really like that scheme, I might steal it....
Made my first tank
I repainted the lines on his coat, before that he looked like Santa claus with the line being red and white.
What's wrong with Grimdark Santa?
He breaches the hulls of all there heretics and gives them stubber rounds to the cranium
this was how it looked before
"Deck the halls with bloody corpses, lalalala la la laaaa"
Not even being facetious, I like Santa Breacher more
Still, they be your dudes and ultimately yours
Thank ya 👍
are you supposed to store yore wet palette in the fridge?
Thats brutal
I do, but I also live in a desert
I mean, you could, but I just leave mine out and refill it with water when needed.
The wetpalette won't give your paints unlimited lifespan, it'll let them survive while you paint.
Any suggestions on highlighting Caliban green? I’ve heard warpstone Caliban mix is decent
depends on the effect you want, any beige, yellow, brighter green or white should work to mix in for a highlight
Lulz... I may not play anti grav tanks on Black Templars anymore... 🤣
Any suggestions on where to start if you want to dip a toe into space marines? (I’m still working on my guard army but I want to mix things up so I’m not painting guardsman #80 and feeling myself going insane)
If you want some variation try Deathwatch... any space marine order can get marines into serving in the deathwatch
Eh not my aesthetic. I’d probably go Lamenters because I’m a masochist (that and my luck is on par with theirs)
The new 10th ed space marine set isn't a bad place to start by any means
Could always pick up a lieutenant you like the look of to try and paint
That too
Probably would do the same with Custodes because it’s a tie between the two I want to start next
Guard comes first though.
Can I get some feedback on a colour scheme?
Been revisiting a chapter and am debating changing the helmet colour
Original is the one with the white helmet, though that makes distinguishing veterans difficult
I think black helmet with white helmets on veterans would work
I might be being dumb but have you magnetised the heads or photoshop the image? Also I like it when all veterans exclusively have all white helms.
I just snag images off the GW site and edit them
Models are a luxury I have no access to I'm afraid
So what's the process you do in Photoshop to get it as clear as you do
Oh it's not photoshop
It's just some free app on mobile called ibispaint
Gives you an option for greyscale, then you just make a layer set to "Overlay" at 50% opacity
And just colour over it
What animation
your video
It's just a timelapse, app records brush strokes I think
oh, interesting how you painted then, with what app did you record it?
honestly no, most paints you guys use wont really survive well from being chilled from being put into a fridge anyways
i finally got those marines i stripped like, last year, primed
they were very badly stripped mind you but nothing a coat of grey primer and some basecoating won't fix
i also made a gray dip wash so i can speedpaint the fuckers
....Though i may not exactly have a place to store them once they are painted for the moment
Ooooh really nice stuff, necromunda I'm guessing?
Some, but mostly for fun.
i love them either way :)

I need ideas for what colors to paint these dudes, Iv already been given the idea for like bright blue and red look
that looks great, how do you set up the pose for photos?
nvm
its digital coloring haha
Yep lol
I WISH I could get minis
But figuring out GW policy on shipping to the Balkans is difficult and also seems expensive anyway
dirt brown and beige
You think that Vashorr would have time for Failbaddon?
Dude literally is calling for an alliance in his reveal teaser
Something big is coming to Warhammer 40,000 and the 41st Millennium will never be the same again. https://bit.ly/3VcTmHq
Don't forget to like, share and subscribe and to ring the bell to make sure you keep up to date with all our latest videos
Also I forgot what was said anyhow
'twas 'I have come to make an offer'
(world of warcraft for the game tag btw) BRUH
literally gives him an entire fleet of arks of omen
????
Happy with him. yey!
4/20 🙃
When it comes to vehicles, do people prefer edge highlighting or dry brushing edges?
On the main body I'll do a dry brush but in certain parts I'll do some edge highlights, like smaller panels or the very top of a chasis or something
So like on my Dorn for example, I’m guessing I’d use edge highlighting on the exhaust ports on the sides and dry brush the rivets?
yeah!!! id be carful drybrushing the rivets i did the mistake on my bane blade and now it looks hella worn haha, with the edge highlights, id say just do the areas that catch the most light, like the sponson rim and such
Hm maybe I just use some scrag brown and dot the rivets with a brush for rust? Or the highlight color individually? Might take longer but it’d be cleaner I think
yeah that sounds cleaner give it a crack!
Also would getting some typhus corrosion around the bottom of the side skirts add some flavor?
OOOOOO yeah nice and rusty, depends on what setting you want, pigments for dusty stuff or some rust effects to make it look hella battle scared 😄 im keen to see what you do 🙂
Ah I’d need to pick up some pigments for dirt I think. I have stirland mud but that’s a bit too thick for my liking
Art from the new Black Templars digital codex
How does one get their brushes to a fine enough point for edge highlighting without getting the paint on too thick
Make your paint almost a glaze and let the brush soak it up then angle your model on a 45° angle 🥴🥴🥴 it works for me though I have to do a couple of layers on the highlights
Fair enough
2/3 done
I want that helmet on the right
same
Blood for thr Blood God?
SKUUUUUULLS ferda throne
Ended up messing around with some wear. Nothing too crazy but I think it added to the tank overall
Looks good for a Battle Tank... Have you thought about adding some bagpacks/helmets on free turret space or some munition crates or else? Would make it look a bit more realistic ^^ 😉
Or also sandbags or something like that ^^
Could definitely add it in post. I did put two stubber ammo boxes on the top of the turret; I can look into some green stuff sandbags
Tip from me cuz Astra Militarum is literally a mashup out of WWI and WWII armies:
Look up some historical photos of Tanks from WWII for example, gives tons of input and shows often much very easy additions that can be made with not much effort to put in 😉
especially american tank crews and german tank crews modded their tanks like they needed them...
Saw them and thought: "Okay bring in distance and heavy weaponry. - Problem solved"
yeah but melee good stuff is still TERRIFYING
Correct.
strength 8 minimum attacks on Daemon Princes AND mortals on charges with wings, which is what i'm running
well with mark of Khorne
but extra toughness with the nurgle mark might be a good pick too
possessed getting even more dark pact bonuses is scary too
Ye. Nurgle will be harder to deal cuz of the toughness
better for me since i'm running a good chunk of em
and termies getting free dark pact rerolls is good too
Space Marine Termies got "anger of the first" and can change any rolled dice how it's needed XD
I didn't enjoy 9th edition as Black Templars player xD
So you want the reliqiuary helmet
Wait it's already on a model?
Literally it is in the BT Battle Patrol Box 🤣
Fun fact: GW has F!#*ed up their photos in their store. Photos only showing backsides of the helmets XD
@cinder bear this is the Helmet:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Rvf2MKIRTMAqFK6R.jpg
Should also be in the Black Templars Upgrade Set.
Side Note: This is a relic so if you want to play a model with it, there can be literally only one mini with that helmet
i swear i remember seeing iron warriors with those somewhere
Could be. But for Black Templars it's the "Crusader's Helm" what is a part of the relic armory of the Black Templars.... In 9th Edition it is Limited to one. Haven't read the full 10th edition Index for the Templars yet but think it will be restricted again
oh it was the mk2 helmet nvm lol
😄
Could fit... cuz it's old parts that are still used by the Templars and so it is relic to them where it is "standard" to iron warriors xD
lol
Templars still may use sicarians and stuff in 9th edition cuz they are 2nd founding order and they are descending from Imperial Fists ^^
Question:
Can i add an Infernus squad in Black Templars color scheme into my BT Army??
Current indexes don't really tell me if possible or not 😄
Infernus are generic marines so yes
You can’t use other chapter units and must use the Templar specific hover tanks. Apart from that you can use any marine units
So when there is only "Adeptus-Astartes" witout any other Order Name implied it's okay right?
Yeah that’s fine
Only difference on BT Hovers is, that they may use mostly meltas
🤣
Yeah I know but as rules are written XD
Yeah anything that’s not from another chapter you’re fine
As i first read i may not use hovers i thought "what the?!" and then i saw hover data cards and i thought again "waht the?!" could have been written easier
Oh yeah these new cards are awfully written at times
Like the deathwatch being able to do up to 44 MW in a shooting phase because nobody proof read anything
sounds like an attorney has written the rules
Stratagem that lets up to 2 killteams have anti infantry 2+
ouchy?
Which means 2s to would is a crit. Deathwatch bolt guns do mortal wounds on a critical
And a certain killteam allows for 3 terminators with assault cannons, which also do mortal wounds on a critical
ye i saw that sick squad
10 isn’t even out and the balance is already borked
But still happy that i got the leviathan box... The marines in it will make good new BT Knights XD
But still thinking 'bout what to do with the psyker model... Maybe i exchange it for something with a friend that plays Dark Angels/Fallen
Detail work with a starter brush feels like I'm doing needlework It's sloppy as hell There's not much of a margin for error but damn it is fun
It Does take a lot of time and practice
Nothing wrong with touching up your mistakes though
Gods know I have to do it a ton on my chaos marines
I need to paint at least one ultramarine kill team
There was definitely a Galaxy brain moment though when I first applied retributor armor to the imperialis and saw the contrast 😍
Finished shading some characters and my first vehicle! Though the pushfit for it was not so great.
For the khan brothers
good stuff
Gotta say, some of the off-brand models are fun to paint
I'm trying to decide if I should get into tabletop with 10e, but my main concern is probably cost, the likelihood that I wont like it and waste my money, or a lack of people to play with where I live, what do you guys think?
Have you ever tried heroin? Because if youve tried heroin and thought hey maybe I should try fentanyl. Then youre probably good.
Try the Tabletop versions at a local warhammer store then u can decide
Are rules for 10e fully out that, or do those come out when leviathan releases, cause I'd be interested to see the rules changes
Gotta say, I have not tried heroin
You can always try it on tabletop simulator if you're trying it out purely for the game of 40k. There are also other aspects, like the painting and collecting. Points costs aren't out yet for 10th, so you can't run a game of it yet.
Ignore me i am a filthy slaanesh worshipper
As for your local community, only you can be the judge of that.
I'm mostly in it for the game, the collection aspect I dont really have the time nor the money, nor the (I already have enough creative hobbies I've started but never finished)
Combat Patrol should be possible cuz Battle Patrol Box = Army that is played.
Yeah, fair enough. In any case then, my top 2 suggestions would be either grey knight combat patrol or custodes combat patrol, if you're buying a starting kit. Easy to paint, lots of points for the money you spend, only downside is the fairly elite nature of the armies. In any case, I'd suggest asking around in your local 40k community.
I was considering combat patrol, but that would require the opponent to have a army which limits the people I can play with considerably, I hadnt thought of tabletop sim though to try it out, I might have to do that
Part of what I liked about the idea of buying leviathan is it would allow me to play with anyone willing to attempt it since it already has two armies and (supposedly) has decent replay value
but it is quite expensive, although it might be worth it for what you get, idk
accidentally drank the whole bottle. I'm feeling dizzy.
guys....
Oopsies
better call posion control
I stripped the finished knight parts I had
because I got sick of people complaining about it not being nmm
I fucking hate nmm
but I need to use it it seems
So i slipped right? and somehow the bottle landed on my hand. Then i fell upside down. Conveniently, the bottle chucked into my mouth and i drank a good chunk of it.
why do mini painters obsess about it so much
its not even high skill, its day one art school
its probably preference i suppose. They shouldnt dictate how you paint though. That's wrong
